if we are using the jeep metaphor for their love. why was Lydias dream about a car crash, why was their love a car crash that ended in his death, and stereks love one that broke down sometimes but never stoped running, it always ran a little funny, but would always be fixed when Derek put in a little effort

I don't know if someone has already said this, but hear me out.
In the Teen Wolf movie, Derek says he hates the Jeep. But what if he doesn't hate the Jeep itself, but what it means to him. What if he hates the memories that that Jeep carries with it. The memories of Stiles. What if he hates the Jeep because it reminds him of Stiles. Stiles, who is no longer in his life. Stiles, who is probably still Derek's anchor. Stiles, the only one Derek is truly able to miss. The only one who has been able to make Derek FEEL things.
What if Derek hates the Jeep because of how much he loves its owner.
And what if he keeps it parked in his garage, covered with a cloth because he doesn't want anyone else to own it. To drive it. To stain it.

“At night he grieved in his bunk. I would lie there in the darkness and listen as he quietly moaned from down in his heart. After a while, I would climb down and sit on the side of his bunk. I’d tell him jokes and stories until he began to feel a little better and could fall asleep. When I climbed back in my bunk I made it my goal to keep Elvis laughing all way across the ocean…”
