THEY FIND OUT YOU ARE PREGNANT(modern au)~

(All characters are aged up)

Gender reveal (pt2)

After delicious dinner Sokka had helped you clean up the table. after you two finished cleaning ,he pecked your lips before retreating to the bathroom. Flipping on the light, he went about his business, washing his hands after. As the water drained, something pink caught his eye near the trash. Frowning, he leaned over for a closer look. There was a small plastic stick, with a little pink plus sign prominently displayed. His breath caught in his throat. Slowly, he picked up the test, his other hand instinctively running through his hair.

Positive.

He gasps, you were pregnant. You two were going to have a baby. Heart near bursting, Sokka dashed out of the bathroom, following the sound of your voice to the living room. You looked up in surprise from where you folded laundry. Before you could speak, He swept you into his arms and spun you around, tears now freely falling. Between joyous laughs and kisses, he managed to choke out, "We're having a baby!" Softly, Sokka cupped you cheek. "I love you," he breathed. More than he ever thought his heart capable. This moment was nothing short of perfection.

After you tell Zuko that you are pregnant, for a long moment, he goes perfectly still at your quiet confession.Slowly, he reaches out to cradle your cheek in his hand. "A baby, huh..." he finally breathes, voice barely above a rumble.

A flicker of emotion crosses his face then - part disbelief, part dawning joy, part protective instinct awakening in him at the knowledge that he had truly created new life with the woman he loves more than anything.

Without warning, he surges forward to pull you into a deep, kiss, pouring all of his swelling pride, after you two part away he whispers "We're havin' a baby, princess,"he says as he looks into your eyes "I'm gonna take care of both of ya, I swear it. Nobody's ever gonna hurt my family." Pulls you closer once more "i love you" he murmurs before kissing you.

Bolin's eyes widen in surprise as you tell him that you are pregnant. His heart races with a mix of emotions - excitement, joy, and a bit of nervousness. He wraps his arms around you tightly, pulling you even closer. "Princess, that's amazing news!" he exclaims, his voice filled with genuine happiness. "I can't believe we're going to have a baby together. I'm going to be a daddy!" He peppers your face with gentle kisses, unable to contain his overflowing affection. "You're going to be the most incredible mother, and I promise I'll take care of you both. He holds you even tighter, his excitement radiating through his touch.

After you told Aang that you are pregnant ,For a moment he was too stunned to respond. "Really?" he breathed, finally finding his voice. At your nod, the brightest smile broke across his face, all worry dissappearing.

"My love..." He cupped your cheeks tenderly with affection "We're having a baby?" He grins You mirrored his grin through watery eyes, relief washing over you at his joyful reaction. "We're having a baby," you affirmed with a teary laugh. In that moment, Aang felt his heart expand five times. he pressed his lips passionately to yours. "You've made me the happiest man alive," he breathed out ,Gathering you close, he held on you tight, placing kisses atop your head as you melted into his embrace.

Your little family was growing.

For a moment, the air seemed to leave Mako's lungs at your soft admission. His eyes searched your in stunned silence. Slowly, a smile began to spread across his face, eyes crinkling at the corners. "Really?" he breathed, unable to contain his Joy Though just as quickly, concern emerged. "Are you...happy about it?" You nodded, with a shy grin of your own,"Terrified but happy," you confessed. With a joyful laugh, Mako gathered you in his arms and held you close, "My love, this is incredible news," he said. Pulling back just enough to cup your face between his hands, He pressed a tender kiss to yout lips before releasing a shaky breath. "I'm here for you and our little bean every step of the way".

Kuvira x reader, Bolin x reader, Mako x reader Cheering up their s/o (separate)

Kuvira doesn't really know how to deal with anxiety , especially coming from her s/o.

But it doesn't mean she won't try. After a hard day she's there for you.

Now she's an amazing metal bender (and back bender) ,so what she will do, is create flowers and figures that she knows you like,maybe tell you one of earth kingdom's stories while she animates it with metal.

It's so wholesome tbh,and it always brings you back into a good mood :)

Bolin is a master at cheering you up,and there's no denying.

Like if you had a particularly rough day that got you anxious or stressed,he's there. And Pabu of course.

Pabu would do some tricks to lighten your mood,and your boy would act like the host, allways bringing a smile on your lips.

If you're not in the mood for that, maybe some food in bed and childhood stories would work to.

Mako is more on the quieter side, so his way of dealing with your anxiety is cuddling in bed with you, rubbing your waist or arm ,and if you're ready to speak about what made you feel the way you do,he's there to listen.

It's okay if you just wanna stay quiet. Mako's just fine with you snuggling up in his chest and falling asleep,as long as he knows that you feel safe,it's all that matters.

Walking to the training room, you stopped when you saw the other firebender in there and you sighed heavily, walking over to the far corner.

“Oh.. (Y/N)! Hey! Hi!” Mako smiled.

He walked over and you looked at him, as you sat down on the bench to put your training shoes on.

“What Mako?”

“Nothing, I just wanted to come talk for a little bit.” He beamed.

“Well, I’m busy, and you have a tournament to be getting too.”

Mako sighed a little and nodded his head, walking away.

He’d been trying to talk to you for weeks, he liked you, he though you were cool and amazing. The only one person probending team.

You were strong.

But that’s not why he was interested in you, he was interested in you because he just thought you were amazing.

He just didn’t know how to go about telling you that, you were so cold and distant from everyone, you didn’t talk much to anyone.

But he was determined, and that wasn’t going to stop him.

After his tournament, he went back to the training room to see that you were still in there sitting in the middle of the room.

Mako walked over, sitting in front of you with a smile on his face.

“We won.”

“Congratulations what do you want a medal? It’s your job to win.”

Mako sighed.

“Have I done something to make you mad (Y/N) because if I have I’m sorry.”

You looked up at him.

“You’re always so cold and distant whenever I try to talk to you, it’s just… I like you, okay? I think you’re amazing but every time I talk to you I get the feeling you don’t want anything to do with anyone.”

You blinked.

“You like me?”

“Well.. yeah..”

He frowned a little and looked down at you looked at him.

You did have to admit, Mako was good looking, and despite the fact he could be rude at the best of times, he’d never been rude to you.

You though maybe it was because he viewed you as weak, or fragile, and it’s why he treated you so differently.

But you were wrong.

That wasn’t the reason at all.

You looked at Mako and stood up, stopping next to him, you looked down at him.

He had his hands balled into fists, his head titled downstairs.

Reaching out, you placed your hand in his head and he froze, eyes wide.

“And I thought you were treating me differently because you saw me as weak.”

You started to walk away but you stopped, turning around to look at him.

“Well, come on Mako.”

“What? Where?”

He got up and ran after you down the hallways and out into the city.

“You’re buying me coffee.”

“Seriously?!”

You looked up at his grinning face and gestured to the coffee shop nearby.

“Lead the way.”

Mako grinned even brighter if it were possible and he quickly led the way while you walked slightly behind him

Kinda want to write Yandere! Team Avatar Korra and others.... Man two in one day? I'm on a roll

Mako is such a jealous little boy

He hates people talking to his lover/significant other

He'll glare angrily at you and the person talking to you

When you try talking to him, he'll be short and sort of ignore you

"Why don't you go talk to your boyfriend/girlfriend?"

He's also very protective

He would risk his life to keep you safe

If anyone ever hurts you, they're asking to die

His biggest fear is losing you, so he'd rather hurt you if it meant you staying with him

He won't take your emotions seriously. If you think he may be toxic, he'll gaslight you into thinking you're crazy

Don't try going to Bolin, because he's no help

^ He'll take his brothers side

"I love you, Y/n! Why don't you see that?"

When you first met, he was very aloof and stotic

He's mean to you and doesn't take you seriously, seeing you as a nusiance

It took you a while to get past his walls, but when you did, he became to close to you

At first he thought it was a sister-brother love

But then he realized he saw you in a way he never saw anyone else in

He pays significantly more attention to you and notices every little thing you do, while still pretending to hate you

He'd rather push you away then to let you in and allow you to hurt him

He finally accepted his love for you when some low life was threatening you and you being you, you were terrified and Mako quickly stepped in and kicked the guys ass and threatened him, before guiding you away

If you are ever involved in criminal activity, he'll be quick to stop you

And if you don't want to stop? Well, you're going to jail and you'll sit there until you accept his help

He uses his power over your head

You can never run from him, so don't even try

He loves you, he really does, but he doesn't know how to healthily love someone

At least he's hot

Legend of Korra team Avatar with a mute or deaf partner

Korra

- Loves to make you laugh, whether it's a loud laugh or just an exhale of breath she loves to do it as much as possible. She thinks your laugh is adorable. - Korra knows a lot of sign language but is working at becoming fluent because she wants to be able to communicate with you to the fullest extent. She also finds it extremely useful in her Avatar duty as it opens her up to the non-verbal and non-hearing community. - Arguments are really funny because Korra loves to provoke people and verbally argue when angry but you don't take the bait and can easily block her out. You can also non-verbally argue much better than she can so get your way most of the time. - You balance each other out well as Korra is always pretty rash, loud and aggressive whereas you take more time to process words and behaviour. As a result Korra has learned to be calmer from you but will also react on your behalf if someone is ever being rude. - You communicate a lot through your bending. Korra is pretty much an expert at bending forms and you both get a lot from sparring together. - Gets you to read all her Avatar speeches because you're a lot better at communicating than her. - Loves showing off her Avatar powers to impress you. You used to do weights together but that turned out to be a bad idea because Korra would get too distracted trying to get you to check her out. - You're very close to Tenzin and Korra's Republic City family as the air nation is the most inclusive nation and they understand your lifestyle. You love having game nights over at Air Temple island because 1. you and Korra crush it every time and 2. they all know sign language and so all night use your language rather than you having to adapt for them.

Bolin

- Very talkative, definitely talks enough for the both of you but importantly always looks for responses whether that's signing, nods, smiles or any preferred form of communication. He never talks at you but has a conversation with you - Loves to learn more about your experience and the first time he met you he definitely bored all his friends with random facts he'd learnt for like a month. - Refuses to ever let you apologise or feel odd for being different. He's always the first person to tell you you're beautiful and valid no matter if you're deaf or mute - Will literally do anything if you ask him to. At first, Bolin would need a few helpful hints at how he can change his behaviour to be more inclusive but he'd always be receptive to any suggestion you gave him. - Bolin really struggles to use sign language but attends classes and practices every day. You actually really love helping him learn because Bolin never gets frustrated or annoyed. He just tries again and his reaction when he gets it is wonderful. - The only thing that annoys him is Pabu listens to you more than him. He can be calling him for ages but all you have to do is gently stamp your foot and he comes running. - Always notices you. You met when he was a pro-bender and there could be hundreds of fans screaming his name but his eyes will always go straight to you and a smile from you is enough to put him in a good mood for hours.

Asami

- Extremely attentive, to the extent you just have to make a face or look at her and she can guess from the situation what you need. - Would probably invent you tons of cool contraptions just to make your life easier e.g. a bed that shakes when your alarm goes off or a machine that communicates for you in public. - Asami learned sign language in like a week after she met you, she's just that good. - She never presumes to answer for you just because you're mute/deaf. She always lets you answer when someone asks a question and only jumps in if you ask her to. She knows you are capable and never patronises you. - Teaches you how to play pai sho and instantly regrets it. While she can usually read you well there's no deciphering your poker face and her cries of protest just make you smirk. - Loves treating you to gifts and surprises. Asami is rich af and so you receive amazing personalised presents at every special occasion. - She seems really strong on the outside but is more vulnerable and soft with you. You're her support system and she comes to you whenever she's stressed or nervous about something. You're an excellent shoulder to cry on and she values your advice over anyone else's. - Similarly you also feel you can show your weaknesses around Asami. Being different you often felt like you had to always prove you were just as good as a non-deaf/non-mute person to be worthy. With Asami it's not like that, she makes you realise you're already perfect which helps you laugh more when you do make mistakes. For example one day Asami got a call from your neighbours because you were blasting music without realising how loud it was. When she rushed home to tell you, you both found it hilarious and it became a running joke between you.

Mako

- Protective, when you go out in public he makes you walk on the inside of the street in case a car comes too close and you can't hear it/don't realise. - Isn't a naturally noisy or talkative person so really likes the quiet and doesn't struggle adjusting at all. He actually gets overwhelmed when he leaves your home at how noisy people are. - Decides the non-verbal and non-hearing community need better treatment so meets with Beifong about having all officers learn sign language. Mako himself is of course fluent in sign language and the two of you have tons of shortcuts and signs the two of you invented yourself. - Finds it easier to open up to you than other people. Mako has never been good with words and so he finds a freedom in communicating with you. You know more about him than anyone else does. - Only introduces you to his friends after you've been dating a while not because he's nervous for them to meet you but because he's nervous for you to meet them! He considers himself pretty lucky to have met you and doesn't want them to scare you off. So he's overly cautious but when you do meet them of course you all get along great. Mako was worried for nothing. - Learns to read the micro-expressions and body language you convey. According to Mako you have ten different types of smiles, he loves your really big smile but his favourite is your small embarrassed smile when he catches you doing something cute and he loves complimenting you on it. - Mako has never been an animal person but you convince him to get a cat and he loves the thing! You name her Sheddy Shin because she sheds so much hair which Mako finds hilarious (you call her shed for short).

def can imagine ricky just wanting to snuggle for the day, only waking up to decorate gingerbread houses and finish the cookies. while he caters his gifts to you perfectly, he’s still a little nervous as you unwrap them, chuckling as you launch yourself into his arms. he’d scoff, his anxiety vanishing while you kiss his face repeatedly. “knew you’d like it, baby.”

my hao hao🥹 he’s so excited from the start of the day, ready to go go go and make the most of it! he’d press a kiss against your cheek and pass the hot coco he made, popping a marshmallow into your mouth. before you can even start chewing, he’s wiggling and whining, “loveeee cmon, eat quickly so we can go sledding! i wanna build a snow man with you, too.”

matthew’s expressed how much he likes winter and the holidays season so he’d be all smiles from dawn to dusk. matching clothes is given, from head to toe and with initials! he’d make sure to call yaebin with you too, her cooing at how cute you two are together-yk before the pda becomes too much. can imagine that he’d hang mistletoe absolutely everywhere in your place as an excuse to kiss you. you’d feel his arms wrap from behind, a coy whisper of, “huh, funny finding you here! didn’t we just-” before you press your lips together.

gyuvin is prancing everywhere in your apartment, seemingly everywhere at one. licking the cookie batter, looking over the presents for the fifth time, rubbing your hands and sides making sure you’re warm. he’s made sure the whole day is dedicated to the holiday, wearing and using your gifts as soon as he opens them (adores the console you’ve gotten him btw). he’d pat the spot next to him on the couch, smiling, “holiday movie binge watching time! babe, i got candy canes for us both, bring em over!”

"Come on the waters fine!" You yelled out to Mako who was setting up a area for you both on the grass. You both were at Asami's lake house for Fourth Of July . You two decided to relax outside for little while the other two couples did their own things inside. "Y.N you're not even wearing a bathing suit to go swimming right now. " he explains.

You raise a eyebrow. "Who says I need clothes then" you teased. Hitting him with shock. His face turned red. "Y.N" he only says in a serious tone. "I'm joking. Relax! I rather not have your friends and brother see me naked. Just you Is good" you say smiling. He let's out a small sigh of relief. You took off your outfit and wore your under clothing as you swam around. Minutes later he takes off his clothes but tanktop and boxers. Joins with you . Causing small water fights and wrestling in water. Till you both started kissing each other. Then the others join in hearing them all way from the house. "Man can you both laugh any louder ? " Fire princess Misa laughs. But suddenly you splash her and she jumps in after you. Korra and Asami decided to steal Makos spot and take the lounge chairs to tan and talk. Bolin goes after Mako in the water. Seeing who can swim fastest.

All in all. You had a wonderful week at Asamis lake house!

Even shared a nice time with Mako in bed because you were scared of the fireworks noise. He made you hear music loud enough to calm you. Then made love to you till you slept peacefully on his chest.

40. Kisses that start out passionate but grows more delicate

Tonight was huge night for the Future Industries Fire Ferrets. The championship, the chance to prove to everyone that their efforts were worth it. Mako should be giving his teammates a inspiring speech but instead he was hanging back in the locker room with you.

"You needed something from me?" He was in the middle of putting his helmet on.

"Me? No, but I thought you might." With a cheeky smile you wrapped your arms around his neck.

"Oh. Now that you mentioned it, there is something I think I want." He returned your smile with an even bigger one, "A good luck kiss goes a long way." Cursed be his gear, you couldn't properly feel his hands on you but that mattered little when his lips pressed against yours.

Mako's kisses were always passionate, almost lustful. Hot lips pressed against yours, his body walking you back until you were pushed against one of the small benches,. You didn't dare break the kiss as you felt him get on top of you. He was shaking. Nerves were getting to him more than you first thought, he really did need this.

Your fingers moved up to tangle scratch through the hair on the back of his neck all the way up as you opened your mouth to deepen the kiss. Mako didn't hesitate to take you up on your offer. Almost everyone's tongue was hot, firebender ones were a bit more so, not burning but more hot then your own that was for sure.

One kiss wasn't enough, you chased his lips as he moved away, his eyes wide for a moment before his pupils dilated. Hopefully no one will notice in the arena.

You only separated when you needed to take a breath, Mako's coming out a hot steam against your mouth, chasing your own for more. If he could he would have kept kissing you all day. But then what would be the point of these good luck kisses.

From passionate and deep they tapered off to slow pecks of the lips, each growing further apart until Make completely pulled away.

"Don't look at me like that. You can kiss me again when my team wins." Even though he said that he leaned in for one more slow kiss. "See you in the crowd, okay babe?"

I like the idea of Raleigh doubting himself a bit when it comes to engaging on a romantic relationship. The idea of him feeling insecure, second guessing his every decision 'cause he wants to do things right.

It's something that doesn't translate to the friendship or co-pilot aspects. He knows how good he is piloting, he can give all of himself in a friendship 'cause he loves helping people and seeing others happy, but romance?

Raleigh Becket takes romance very serious.

The problem is not how he feels or what he wants to give. He's worried about not being enough, 'cause he can be a bit distant due his trauma. He's worried about his ptsd getting in the way, he doesn't want his job as a pilot to get in the middle either, there's his whole relationship with Mako, a part of him that not many could accept or began to understand.

With Mako, although she is his priority, theirs is not that type of bond. It can hold romantic aspects, but it's not traditional friendship or family bonds, but something unique and soo different. He knows is not that type of love.

There's a version of romantic and sexual love for Raleigh that is all passionate, a bit selfish to his standards, something that burns and that demands and shows a side of Raleigh similar to his fighting spirit. Relentless and all encompassing, caring, soft and gentle if he wants but with an intensity he's afraid of sometimes, 'cause what if it scares his lover away?

What if he lets someone in and hurts the person? He can stand getting hurt, but not being responsible for the pain of someone he cares deeply about.

By expressing what I mean throught a part of the novelization, when Yancy says he's tired of Raleigh not taking what he wants, that's it. Maybe Yancy is jealous of Raleigh, but that also tells us Raleigh is not that cocky or even confident when it comes to love. He's smart and perceptive, sensible to a degree, he isn't afraid of taking risks--- except for romance.

And that's something I adore for him as a character. It gives him depth, it shows what type of man Raleigh is, how good is his heart, how much he cares.

I looooooove his goofy ass so much <3

Where the Ocean meets the Land

@askrikkaiandhyotei had asked for Umemori Genta and man...I don’t appreciate my son enough. So here we gooo~!

Warnings: Just Genta being cute. I got inspired lol

It’s a knife to his chest, digging out innards and guts, finest sashimi being crafted out of singing swinging heartbeats.

He’s drowning.

He cannot breathe.

His teeth dig into soft lips and his hands shake, sweat ticking and trickling down the back of his neck and soaking into his shirt. There is a pout to his lips, though he tries to correctify it. He doesn’t want pity. He doesn’t want his beloved to tease him and taunt him, tugging him along.

Umemori Genta wants the truth.

But it’ll hurt him all the same.

Their eyes narrow as they chew on the morsel - only the finest of fish for his beloved, he made careful sure of that - gears whirling and churning in their head. He could hear them clack, or maybe it was the clack of his own teeth?

His eyes don’t leave their form - perfection immaculate - his own brows mirroring theirs. He watches their throat bob, swallowing the piece and inhales deeply after swallowing that similar bob within his own esophagus. He calls out their name and they turn to him, cocking their head to the side curiously.

“How…how was it?” his knuckles shift to snowy scapes as they grip the wood of his cart, threatening to shatter and splinter under his strength. “Was it good?” he bites down upon the tongue before he could bombard them with questions, flooding them with worries and what-ifs. They already have enough to contemplate, he doesn’t want to add more.

They only chuckle, a gentle smile to their lips. “Genta,” they speak, clear and calm; a bell ringing through the dark.

His throat is dry, his tongue darting out to lick parched lips. “Y-Yeah?”

“It’s great, I love it.” They smile a smile that graces the heavens, that sets his heart aflame and Genta pauses, and stares. His nostrils flare with air and his heart howls and whoops and screams.

It all explodes out of him with the loudest yelp of elation, his head slamming against the top of his cart with a loud hiss leaving his lips. His beloved runs towards him, gripping him. “Are you okay?! Genta, you need to be more caref-”

Silence reigns the moment he slammed his lips against theirs, not caring for the taste of the ocean mingling with vinegar and home. They part when the ocean can no longer take the land’s love, a laugh leaving his lips. “Really? It is? You’re not joking are you? Just saying things?!” he lightly shakes them and they only chuckle again.

“I promise you, Genta.” they say while painting an ‘X’ over their heart. “I promise.”

Genta squeals once more, peppering wave upon wave of kisses on to their face - eyes, nose, cheeks, forehead, hair, and finally lips - with the brightest of smiles. “Thanks, I knew you’d like it! I got the best stuff for you-!”

“I love it because you made it, Genta.”

Waves are dyed red, parting lips and shock upon his entire form. Genta feels heat rolling upon the tides of his form, his smile brighter, “Really?” it’s an octave higher, something he never knew his voice could do.

“Honest.”

Again he squeals, bringing them into the largest and biggest hugs, resting his chin upon their shoulder. He turns ever so slightly, pressing a kiss to their cheek, to the lobe of their ear. “Thank you.” he nuzzles further into their embrace. The ocean meeting the land, a harmony within his chest and home dusting at the corners of his heart.

“You’re welcome. Come on, let me eat! I don’t want to waste it!”

“O-Oh! Right!”

The Mission Bolin x Reader Series: Part Four

You return to Republic City and don’t recieve the warmest welcome but manage to prove to everyone where your loyalties lie...but can you show this to Bolin?

When you got back to Republic City you could’ve easily slunk away and buried your head in the sand but you didn’t. You went right to the council and shared with them everything you knew. You told them you’d accept any punishment they thought fair but asked you be allowed to help in the time being. Obviously they were all very wary of you but Varrick vouched for you. “She’s on our side now we promise! Kuvira was intimidating her as much as she was everyone else but Y/n stood up for us and is a very big part of why we're still here”. Varrick’s word didn’t seem to be doing much good though, which was understandable considering his past, so you stepped forwards ready to argue your case when Bolin beat you to it. “Varrick’s right. Y/n helped get us here and stood up to Kuvira for us...she can be trusted and she has invaluable knowledge. We’re going to need her to stop this”. Mako’s brother and the Avatar both nodded, convinced by Bolin’s world and that persuaded Tenzin and the others. “Fine!” Raiko nodded “you can help but we’ll be watching you like a hawk and the second you falter you’ll be locked away forever”. You nodded “I won’t let you down”.

You hoped to catch Bolin after the meeting but Raiko grilled you for hours to get information about Kuvira and when you left Bolin was nowhere to be seen. The next day you found Mako, Bolin’s brother and asked if he knew where Bolin was staying. He directed you to Air Temple Island and you made your way there a bundle of nerves. You found Bolin outside playing with Pabu and smiled to see he seemed back to normal...or he did until he looked up and saw you. Oblivious, Pabu ran over to say hello before Bolin could intercept him. You stroked Pabu happily and Bolin stood up, coming towards you hesitantly. “Hey” you said softly “I’m really sorry to drop in on you like this but with the war coming I figured sooner would be better. Can we please talk?" you asked. Bolin sighed "i guess I can’t avoid it forever...let's go this way" and he led you to a private part of the island overlooking the ocean. You nodded and followed him in silence. Once you were sat down Bolin frowned "so...do you want to take the lead?". You nodded and took a breath. “I just wanted to apologise again for everything I did to you and give you a chance to ask any questions...I’m so sorry for everything Bolin and I know the journey here hasn’t solved anything. Is there anything you want to say to me?”. "Was it all just a game?" Bolin asked and you had a feeling this had been on his mind for a while. "Being nice to be, laughing with me, flirting with me...the whole time you were only speaking to me because she told you to right? Would you even have given me the time of day if she hadn't commanded you to?" Bolin asked. You nodded "of course I would have! Initially I did it because she told me to but after our first meeting I realised I enjoyed being around you and it stopped being a secret mission but something I wanted to do. I liked being around you Bolin, I would’ve acted the same way I promise". Bolin sighed "well unsurprising I don’t believe you" and he looked away upset. "Of course I want to believe you. I want to think you did care for me and like me but how can I even begin to trust you?" he pointed out. It was a very good question and one you didn’t have the answer to. You sighed "I don’t know" you replied honestly "I've hurt you in an awful way and I don’t know how I can ever do enough to repair that. To make you feel safe around me again but I promise I'm not going to quit until I do it. I'm not going to stop trying even if you lose interest or hate me. I will never stop trying to repay the damage I did because you mean a lot to me Bolin. While it wasn’t genuine at first it didn’t take long before it started being and by the end I’d really fallen for you. I know that ship has probably sailed for us forever but all I want is to get your friendship back. No matter how much work it takes". Bolin nodded "okay. I can’t promise anything but I also won’t tell you it’s impossible". You nodded to him "that’s more than I could’ve hoped for, thank you". Bolin nodded and walked away.

You heard Opal was in town the following day and figured she deserved an apology as well. You made your way to Lin Beifong’s apartment where Opal was staying and knocked twice. You were sure this wasn’t going to be pleasant and that was before you told her what you’d done to her and Bolin’s relationship. But still you wanted to wash away everything you'd done for your sister and the first step was being honest. So you’d deal with this and then you could move on.

The door opened and Opal appeared. "What do you want?" she asked. Great start, she hated you already. You winced and tried to look non-threatening. "I was hoping we could talk?" you asked. "Funny you two even think alike now" she replied and you paused "me and who?". "Bolin” she said and Opal moved back to reveal the living room where Bolin was sat awkwardly. He met your eye and you looked away "sorry I didn’t realise he was here...i’ll come back later". "No why don’t you stay?" Opal asked her voice dripping with anger "Bolin was just explaining how he broke up with me for you and I'd love to hear your side of things". You winced but Opal held the door open very menacingly for an airbender. You walked inside and sat in the only available chair which was next to Bolin. "So" Opal said standing in front of you both "carry on Bolin". Bolin coughed "so after we broke up I went to Y/n and I...we kissed". "The same night I left, right?" Opal asked. Bolin nodded "yes". "And you thought that was okay because...?". Bolin sighed "I knew it wasn’t but I hadn't seen you in so long and every time we did it was so tense. Things with Y/n had been building for a while and I was so emotional after our breakup it all just kind of burst out". Opal raised an eyebrow "so you're blaming me?". Bolin immediately denied that and went to explain himself when you stepped in. "Haven’t you told her what I did?". Bolin shook his head "I was getting to that part". You turned to her "Opal none of this was Bolin’s fault. Kuvira calculated it. She made a plan to have Bolin fall for me and I...I helped her. I seduced him and encouraged him to break up with you. I made myself seem like the better alternative and helped orchestrate the whole thing so if you want to be angry at anyone it should be me". Opal shook her head "you're acting like you twisted his arm behind his back and forced him to fall for you. Whether you encouraged it or not you didn't force him to do anything. You didn’t make him separate from me or make him kiss you. From what I've heard you actually stopped that. Bolin fell for you because he liked you" she said "and for me that's the ultimate betrayal because if he’d really have liked me and had no feelings for you to begin with then this would have never happened". "Opal please" Bolin cried as you said "let me explain it better" but she’d had enough. "No I'm done. You both said you wanted to explain and you did so get out. Bolin it’s over, stop blaming Y/n for your own actions and take responsibility. Y/n...well all the apologies in the world won’t resolve what you've done but I think I have an idea of how you can start". You frowned "how?". "You're going to help me break my family out of Kuvira’s prison".

All things considered risking your life to save Opal’s family who had been imprisoned by your sister, the one you helped takeover their home, seemed fair. So you agreed. Bolin had protested, claiming Opal shouldn’t just punish you but him too. That honestly hadn’t helped things and so you rode to the prison in a very stormy silence. Lin was smart enough not to get involved and stayed quiet.

Once you got there you were soon joined by Toph and broke into the prison. The Beifongs were literally tossed to freedom and only when you got outside of the cell undetected did they all turn to you. "Y/n?" Su yin asked the first chance she got. "You came back to us?" Wei asked a smile on his face and you felt like crying. "No" Opal’s voice rang out "she was working against us the whole time. She’s only here because Kuvira made her go against Bolin and that was too much for her. Not us". The Beifongs all frowned and you hung your head, aware there were no words in the world you could say to make up for what you’d done to your real family. "Still..." Huan said suddenly "she’s here rescuing us and where’s Bataar? Our actual flesh and blood". You looked up to see the others were slowly nodding. Suyin smiled and stepped towards you "regardless I'm happy you're here and you're safe" she said offering you a hand “if you’re willing to make this first step then so are we”. You took one look at her kind face and burst into tears. "I'm so sorry! For everything" you sobbed and Su cradled you in her arms. "It's okay" she soothed and you finally felt safe. Opal understandably wasn’t happy but the others all forgave you. You explained why Opal hated you and how it was justified. The others all just replied she’d forgive you eventually and you felt so happy to have your family back. You were always closest to the twins and found yourself staying with them on the way back to Republic City. "So..." Wei asked "where did you and Bolin leave things?". You swallowed "I told him that I'd always care for him as more but I'd never stop trying to win his friendship back". You expected the twins to judge you for saying that to their little sister’s ex-boyfriend but they just nodded. "That seems fair" Wing nodded and you stared "how are you all not yelling at me?". Wei smiled softly "Y/n you may not be a Beifong by blood but you do realise we grew up as together right? To us you're family. So is Kuvira too and anything you've done doesn’t really matter now you've said sorry and are trying to put it right. We love you and we support you. Opal and Bolin were on the outs before you even got involved but he’s a nice guy. If you have something with him then we say go for it". "Really?" You asked tears in your eyes and Wei nodded "yes". “You’re the best brothers ever” you replied and the twins grinned to hear you finally call them that.

When the final battle came you fought in it side by side with your earth bender family. You brought Kuvira’s giant mecha suit down and then Kuvira herself. Bolin got to the new spirit portal just in time to see Korra emerge with Kuvira. Bolin spotted you across the field and you were staring frozen as Lin and Su clamped handcuffs around your sister’s wrists and everyone celebrated. Bolin watched you warily and felt a pang of sadness. No matter what you’d done he still cared about you and seeing you upset made him sad. He went to step towards you when a twin appeared on either side of you. Wei touched your arm tentatively and you turned and buried your head against him crying. Wing joined the hug and Bolin was pleased to see atleast you’d reconnected with your family. Not wanting to ruin the moment Bolin walked away.

1 year later

After the battle you were pardoned by Raiko due to your help taking down Kuvira and so you didn’t serve any jail time. However you didn’t return to Zafou after the battle. Kuvira had done a lot of damage to Republic City, hundreds injured, thousands displaced and so many homes utterly destroyed. So, you decided to do something about it.

Bolin witnessed the whole thing and saw first hand the stroke of genius ran in Kuvira’s bloodline family. You became lead of the restoration efforts and everyone soon forgot who's sister you were once your intentions became clear. The Beifong’s were a golden support system and Bolin saw even you and Opal were friends again which was nice. Opal had also told him she’d forgiven him and they were friends again but he knew that was all it would be with her. With you however that was a different story. Bolin still liked you. He knew it was stupid, most people would never consider going back to someone who did what you’d done but he couldn’t deny how he felt. Not to mention everything you’d said turned out to be true and he saw the changes you’d made to become a better person. You weren’t the same person as before and neither was he. But that didn’t make telling you any less scary. Bolin finally decided to do it one day after he spent the whole week watching you help refugees get rehabilitated. He knew he had to tell you or move on and he chose the former. Bolin could always find you around city hall these days so he headed there and soon enough he spotted you walking down a hallway. "Y/n" he called and you stopped looking around. You smiled when you saw him and walked over "Bolin! How are you? Is everything okay?". Bolin nodded "I’m good thanks and everything is great. I was just wondering if I could talk to you? What time do you finish up here?". You seemed surprised but quickly recovered "I actually finish in an hour, there’s a great coffee shop around your corner if you’d like to go there?". Bolin nodded "sounds great! I'll meet you at the main entrance in an hour".

It was raining when Bolin got to the coffee shop so he went inside and found a table. He sat facing the door, which turned out to be a bad thing as every time it opened his heart sped up and he panicked before realising it wasn’t you. Finally, after many false calls you arrived. Bolin froze as you stood there in the doorway and he felt his palms sweat and his cheeks flush at what he was about to do. He was excited but also terrified. You’d said you would always care for him as a friend and as more but what if that had changed in the year that had passed? What if he’d missed his chance and the two of you would never get your opportunity to be a couple? “Bolin?” you called having located him and Bolin jumped up “y/n hey! Thanks for coming”. You smiled sitting down “no problem, so...how can I help? If it’s about those building permits please tell President Zhu Li I’m getting the zoning board to work as fast as possible...”. “No it’s not work-related it’s about...us”. “Ow...” you said and your whole body language changed “okay, what do you want to discuss?”.

Bolin took a deep breath “well first of all I wanted to tell you I’ve noticed all the good things you’ve done this past year and how you’ve been trying to reduce the damage Kuvira caused and I truly believe you’re a good person. I’ve forgiven you for what happened between us”. Your face lit up in surprise and you smiled shocked “really? Bolin that’s amazing! Thank you so much”. Bolin smiled “it’s nothing, it felt right so thanks for not giving up I guess”. “Totally worth it” you grinned and Bolin blushed ”also one more thing...I wondered if things have changed at all for you? Before you mentioned you would always care for me as more than a friend but were happy just being friends, is that still true”. You paused looking down “yes my feelings haven’t changed. I think I’ll always like you but I respect your feelings and promise never to try anything with you...is that what you were worried about?”. Bolin shook his head “no more the opposite, Y/n I still like you too and all this time I was unsure if I could trust you but like I just said I know I can now and so I wondered if you’d maybe like to go on a date with me?”. Your face split into an even more surprised expression and Bolin had never seen your eyes so wide before. You spluttered in shock “I’m...of course I would! Sorry i’m just lost for words because I thought I’d royally screwed this up so to hear you say this, I can’t believe how lucky I am”. Bolin blushed, in all his relationships he was usually the one providing all the security and compliments and it was nice to have someone else share that. “Well I feel pretty lucky too, none of my past partners have gone to the amount of effort you have to show me they care. You make me feel wanted and I like that”. You blushed but didn’t look away “I do want you Bolin, so not to sound eager but when are you free for that date because I’d love to take you out and make you feel even more special”. Bolin was so flushed he felt several degrees warmer and he smiled “how’s Friday night?”. “It’s a date” you grinned and Bolin smiled “great...” and he tentatively reached across the table to take your hand. Your drinks arrived seconds later and you smiled holding yours up “a toast, may our future be a lot less complicated and happier than our past”. Bolin nodded “to our future” and clinked your glass. You had a good feeling about this and couldn’t wait to see what your future had in store.

You always used to fear the future but now, with Bolin back in your life you were ready for it.

Bolin is the bestest boy!

I never really warmed to him and Opal as a couple because it just felt forced to me, like they were both single and nice people so they got smushed together. I wish they’d given him a more romantic fun partnership like Korra x Asami and Mako x Wu (yes they’re together in my mind). Even the way they got together felt quite convenient and not really that special or fun. All I’m saying is Bolin and Opal both deserve better!
