seventeen members as their natal charts: woozi
sun in sagittarius, moon in aries
he loves a good challenge, his straightforward and self-assured personality can make him come off as arrogant but he's not like that; this man won't accept anything but the truth, he's fearless and very generous to people he loves, enjoys solitude just as much as he loves big crowds (but not being the center of attention there)
'looks like it's gonna be hard,' you mutter, staring at bunch of documents in front of you. 'do you think you can-'
'i know i can,' jihoon interrupts, not even bothering to look up.
you nod. jihoon's curt answer may have irritated other people, but not you. after working together for almost half a year, you realized that these kind of replies from him are simple statements of facts, not just arrogant atempts of showing off. still, you ask: 'need any help?'
jihoon blinks, finally looking up from his laptop. no one really sticks around with him, always uncomfortable with his silence or too straightforward manners, so your question surprises him. you, in general, surprise him in many ways and part of him desperately wants to reach out, because he may or may not have written dozen songs about your eyes and how your smile makes his day better. 'um,' he lets out eloquently. 'only if you're okay with helping.'
you nod and he breathes out in relief, shutting his laptop. work is easier with you, huge pile of documents gets sorted out much faster with two pair of hands and jihoon nods in satisfaction as you finish the last one. 'thank you,' he says sincerely. you smile and your smile makes him feel... things. makes him want to get upclose and personal with this smile, maybe even be the reason behind it. he's not dumb, he knows there might not be any other chance, so he barrels on: 'do you have plans for tonight?'
jihoon is certainly not the one to beat around the bush, but you're still surprised, looking up at him. 'you're asking because..?'
'i heard new thai place opened around here, thought it'd be good to try it out,' he meets your gaze, looking serious and confident. 'i'd like to treat you, if you're free.' and then, because if he started he has to go until the end, giving all in, he adds to clear things up: 'it's a date.'
silence that stretches makes him nervous, but when smile blossoms on your face and your cheeks color just a tiny bit, he thinks that risks always are worth taking in the end. smile stretches his own lips and he mirrors your excitement: 'i'll take that smile for a 'yes' then?'
he doesn't tell you that he heard you talking about really wanting to try out that place and nor does he tell you that he already went there and tried out bunch of dishes, just so he would know what to order when he'll finally get the courage to ask you out. you nod at him and something else twirls inside of his chest, warming it up. something akin to hope, that he thinks will turn out just great.
in relationship he can sometimes be insensitive and have a temper, but willl ultimately be the most protective partner ever! he longs for domesticity and is very much 'i don't see anyone but you' type when he's in love, he needs someone who's good at avoiding conflicts and can sometimes push him to change
'jihoon, that was too rude,' you say, closing the door with a loud sigh.
'he had his hands all over you,' jihoon huffs, shaking his coat off angrily. he doesn't get jealous easily and rarely has problems with other people, but his protective instincts flare up whenever someone gets too familiar with you. 'and you looked anxious, you know i can't just stay still at times like that.'
'i thought you didn't see,' you mumble quietly enough but of course jihoon catches it.
he grabs your hand, pulling you closer to him. 'i'm always looking at you,' he says seriously, not understanding how your heart flutters at those words. 'babe, i- i'm looking only at you. even when we are surrounded by other people, my eyes are always on you.'
and it's the truth. he keeps his eyes on you not in some creepy way, but just looking at you grounds him, he checks on you cause need to make sure you're fine is exactly what it is - a need. you smile at him, but still don't let go of the situation, telling him that he took everything too far. jihoon nods, knows that you're right, but he also knows that you won't ever nag him about it. this is the best thing about you, how you let something not critical go, knowing him too well. 'that was probably too rude, okay. you know i won't go and apologize to him, he did make you uncomfortable and i won't stand for that, ever.'
you sigh fondly, reaching out to caress his cheek softly. 'i know,' you say. 'my protector.' you didn't say it in a mocking way and jihoon knows it. he really is your protector in the sweetest and purest way; someone who you always wanted and never thought you'd have.
'i'll always protect you,' he says matter-or-factly with no traces of joke in his voice. but then his face changes as he shyly suggests: 'let's drink some tea?'
you almost laugh at this, but hold back. nodding, you lean in, smiling when he pecks your lips and both of your cheeks lovingly. never have you ever thought that jihoon will be like this, this protective and this caring at the same time. 'let's,' you agree easily.
you drop the conflict before it could grow big, because it's not worth it. nothing is really worth it at the face of jihoon's wide smile as he understands that the subject is dropped and that you're not angry at him anymore. sometimes words are not needed and silent understanding that passes between you two is more important. he hugs you tight and that's all that's needed as you both settle into comfortable domesticity, the one you both protect fiercely and put above everything else.
a/n: a bit surprising for jihoon i think, but i love his chart so much!!

inferno
laudna was staring at her hands.
she had been for a good portion of the evening and imogen wanted to press against her mind, that gentle side of it, just to see what the shape of her thoughts would be. and if laudna's soft skin split open to welcome her in, all the better.
imogen held off.
instead, she ambled over, careless in her approach, and plopped down beside her girlfriend. she was met with an arched brow and a smile playing across dark lips; laudna, it seemed, had not bought her performance.
'hello, darling,' she said. 'just casually dropping by?'
'shut up.' imogen rolled her eyes. laudna laughed, and imogen found a much better place for her eyes--looking at the marble column of laudna's neck as she threw her head back and laughed, the sound shiveringly bold.
'i'm sorry, i couldn't help it, you tried so hard to be casual about it. i do think FCG bought it,' laudna offered.
imogen scowled playfully. 'great. one out of five.'
she laughed at herself, then tried visibly to pull herself together. the drinking had started not long after crepes - not the perfect dinner to keep from getting shit-faced after all, as chetney had insisted, or maybe it was some quirk in gnomish constitution that she couldn't boast - and she hadn't drunk too much but after a lifetime of not drinking ever, the small amounts she'd been indulging in, finally, felt like heavy hitters. it was nice actually. the whole world didn't feel like a storm; it felt like she was floating above the world and each mind was a burning, churning star. still there, still loud and present and burning hot. but she didn't have to go there. she got to just - float.
laudna's mind was one of those double stars, old and cold and slow and forever turning around each other, ready to crash. imogen read about those, back at the starlight - starbright - starpoint academy. conservatory? whatever. stars that died and turned inside out. instead of sending all their burning energy out they sucked it in, everything around them. that's what delilah was trying to do to laudna.
'you're staring, darling.'
'you're beautiful,' imogen replied simply. laudna's lips turned up at the edges. she looked down at her hands. 'can i ask you something?'
'anything. you know that. you ought to, anyway.'
imogen leaned into her. she was pretty sure she was flirting heavily, but maybe orym wouldn't quite be able to tell just from their backs. oh who was she kidding--he saw everything, and anyway, she was as obvious as the bloody moon in the bloody sky when it came to laudna.
'i don't remember much from our chat in the market,' imogen said, voice low, 'not after you said alright,' she drawled. 'i was a bit occupied.'
laudna's eyes brightened. she glanced around, then back to imogen. 'i think i made my point quite clear. as you made yours.'
'yeah?'
'yes.'
they were so close imogen could feel her cool breath fanning against her cheek. all she had to do was lean in and--imogen closed her eyes. pulled back.
'imogen?'
'wait - sorry, laud, i got carried away. this isn't why i came over. i came to -' she fought with her mind, wrangling it to focus. 'i came to ask you something. serious.' imogen stared at laudna, who nodded for her to continue. 'i noticed you've been a little quiet tonight. and you've been looking at your hands a lot. is everything - okay?'
a cool hand against her wine-warm cheek was heavenly. imogen leaned into the touch.
'yes, darling, nothing's the matter. the very moment that changes, i'll let you know,' laudna vowed. her thumb brushed across imogen's cheek, tender. her voice dripped into imogen's ear, melodious. 'i've been thinking merely of power and capability...and culpability. the incident in the volcano frightened me. i tried to calm the inferno heart of the fire empress with a drop of ice,' she said, and her tone changed in a heartbeat, grew fangs, dripped venom. 'i had nothing to offer - there was nothing i could do - and i would do anything for you,' laudna said. imogen opened her eyes. watched as laudna glanced from their friends, still carousing, and back to her. locked eyes with her. 'anything,' she whispered, 'for you.'
'i know.'
'it seems some cruel trick of the world that one can grasp for power and gain it, more and more, and yet come up against challenges that require still more power. there never does seem to be a limit. there never does seem to be...peace.'
'no,' imogen agreed. she looked down to laudna's hand - the one in her lap. her fingers were long, her skin pale but darkening like gathering smoke, white to grey to black until the ends of her fingers and her nails were the deepest black. a ring encircled one finger, serpents twisting around a red gem. imogen wanted to kiss her hand, her knuckles. wanted to run her tongue over that ring--her ring--sitting so prettily on her finger. she dragged her eyes back up to laudna's face.
'were you talking to her?' she asked.
this time, not even laudna seemed to suspect that she forced her tone casual, intrigued. and it was forced. there was nothing she would like more than to rip delilah out, crush her beneath her boot in the fucking mud where the bitch belonged. but it was laudna's killer, laudna's mind, laudna's choice.
'no.'
'no?'
'i was thinking about my other powers.' laudna waved her hand and let shadows pool around them, dark and heavy. imogen wasn't afraid. the power was in laudna's hands; she was safe, she was at home here in laudna's shadow. 'where they came from, how i gained them. i was trying to recall--playing with them as a child. i did, i think. long before - everything that happened. that's why she was intrigued, i think. that's why she thought i had potential. because i did. and i have been wondering, i suppose, if anything of that potential remains.'
the shadows were deep and dark. imogen leaned close and pressed a kiss to laudna's shoulder.
'you wanna research? you wanna go somewhere and find the answers? it'll be like when we first started travellin' together.'
'except it may well be the plane of shadows. not exactly a city on a map.'
'i'll travel to the ends of the world for you and beyond.'
'again.'
'hm?'
'again,' laudna reminded her softly, eyes glowing in the shadow blacker than the black around them. gorgeous.
sorrow gnawed at her aching wrists like a hungry dog. she remembered carrying laudna, cradling her to her chest. she couldn't forget. her fucking wrists ached. imogen grabbed laudna, dragged her closer. her breathing was harsh like she'd run a mile, or been dropped out of the sky and caught at the last second. landed softly but heart still trying to catch up. she felt for the side of laudna's head, who murmured empty soothing words and moved to help her, and pressed her trembling lips to laudna's eyes, one after the other.
'if it comes to it, i will do it again. as many times as i have to.'
'i know,' laudna said, and tilted imogen's head so she could kiss her gently on the lips. 'but next time, i swear, we walk into the plane of shadows together.'

Asks Comp 15/5
@manorinthewoods submitted: I believe I got confused about the omnipotence thing because I'd talked about it in some Discord server or other. My interpretation of the confusing usage of 'omnipotent' is that it specifically refers to any individual with the ability to exert unlimited power upon at least one individual. This allows for a system where one omnipotent can be more powerful than another, such as a Horrorterror being stronger than a First Guardian. [...] That's all I wanted to say.
The problem is that I don't really understand what it means to exert 'unlimited power' over someone.
Does it mean that you have full control over that person's actions? Or perhaps, the ability to change their nature in any way imaginable? Neither of these traits apply to First Guardians - their powers are centered around controlling space, not people.
Doc Scratch exerts power over Vriska, but his influence isn't absolute. If it was, she wouldn't have been able to use the cueball behind his back. Maybe I'm just misunderstanding what you mean by unlimited power.
Tumblr media
Probably! There are already a lot of human/troll interactions going on, so their relationships will inevitably evolve.
Tumblr media
I recommended a few webcomics last year. They're all decent theory-fodder, particularly Paranatural.
That said, none of them are as good as Homestuck at doing what Homestuck does. This is a very unique story, and I'm also not sure what, if anything, I'll liveblog after this is done. I'm certainly enjoying liveblogging, so there probably will be a next project - and I remain open to suggestions.
Tumblr media
Dang it. Well, I'm still showing up in search, so at least I'm not shadowbanned this time. Maybe a glitch on your end?
Tumblr media
I don't think you're wrong, exactly - but to be honest, there seems to be a bigger issue here than unreliable narration. I still have trouble understanding how any kismesissitude can be healthy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The prophecy is true!
Tumblr media
It's kind of cool that the kids' entire fortune is likely seeded from John's original stockpile. All that Grist we picked up in Act 2 actually went somewhere!
Tumblr media
Oh, nice! I feel like there'd be too many combinations to effectively crowdsource, though, unless the pool of alchemy ingredients was extremely small. If you really wanted to implement alchemy in a game, it'd probably have to be at least partially procedural.
Tumblr media
To be fair, I have to give credit to John on this one. Some of his funniest moments are when he's not trying to be a jokester.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know! I probably wasn't clear enough about my question.
My question is whether the phrase 'the numerals of the blind prophets' is a reference all on its own. The phrase is a little out of left field, and the comic itself hasn't explained it.
Tumblr media
Pretty sure John's has already been explained - he needs to wake his Denizen and save his fireflies!
As for Jade's, it's indeed hard to say. I thought they'd all be about terraforming, but Dave's seems to break this pattern. Maybe his Quest isn't what it seems - or maybe I was just wrong, and a Quest can be just about anything.
I don't think I'll be able to guess Jade's, since it'll involve the features of a Land we haven't yet seen. All I can say for sure is that it'll have something to do with Space.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hell yes! This blog's hidden objective - to plug The Locked Tomb - is finally bearing fruit.
Tumblr media
It's easy for Aradia to do what she does, because she ''knows'' that she could never have done anything else. 'Understanding' this lets her be reckless.
Tumblr media
Once you can convince someone their choices don't matter, you can convince them to do whatever you want.
Tumblr media
I prefer Prospit's aesthetics, but Derse's vibes. The Horrorterrors are a better suspicious patron than Skaia - at least they'll help me break the game.
That said, the official quiz assigned me Prospit. Maybe I misunderstand the moons - but from where I'm currently sitting, Derse is the better choice.
Tumblr media
The question isn't whether Sburb would screw them over - it's how it would.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I like the idea that Sburb started with only Sprites, and slowly assimilated its victors into its later iterations.
Each Sburb species represents a video game trope, so I could see an aggressive species like the trolls as a border patrol. They're angry, aggressive NPCs who fly their warships around the Veil, making sure Players don't leave the session's boundaries. You're meant to avoid them, not fight them, and they're the bane of any Player who tries to get creative with the Furthest Ring.
Now, what kind of NPC would the humans be?
Tumblr media
I'm not a fan of jumpscare horror, but psychological horror can be very interesting indeed.
I didn't expect the comedy meme man to be that good at instilling a sense of dread - but I shouldn't have been surprised. Horror and comedy tread a very fine line.
Tumblr media
Thank you!!
Tumblr media
This frame in particular is pretty unsettling. Jack never usually shows this much emotion, and you have to wonder if the Ring has gone to his head a little.
Tumblr media
Anyway, if we're talking about aesthetics, my favorite area so far is the Battlefield. It's like a chessboard mixed with a Windows XP background, and it's gorgeous in Rise Up.
Tumblr media
Neither have been used in the comic, so I'm just going with lusi for convenience's sake!

there's an argument that i see recurring in the futurama fandom -- i think it's a minority opinion but i've seen it across multiple platforms, from multiple people, and it very much annoys me so i'm making my lengthy counterargument. this will be ranty and i apologize.
the idea that fry and leela are toxic because "leela wanted him to change for her" is such a weird and even reductive way to not just view the ship, but relationships in general.
(this is a long post, because i have a lot of Feelings on the topic, so i'll put a readmore.)
first off leela has always liked fry. maybe not romantically (there's signs that she had a crush on him early on, but it didn't get serious til way down the line), but she related to him, took pity on him, and quit her job for him (which! was! illegal!) because he gave her the courage to do so. in the second episode, he also helps her see the beauty on the moon, something she used to take for granted. she has always seen potential in fry to inspire her and open her eye to new possibilities.
but she still has a lot of hang-ups about fry, leading into the "she needed him to change" thing. here's the thing about fry and leela: leela does not force fry to change, she inspires fry to change, because she believes he can change. bender and leela are the first ones to meet fry and understand his situation, his loneliness, the feeling you don't belong anywhere. the difference is that while bender often indulges fry's more immature and selfish traits, leela is more willing to protect fry's safety and call him out on his stupidity. for some reason (probably projection), people think this is abusive. yes, leela can be hard on him (so can the entire crew, but for some reason, people only get mad when it's the female lead being mean), but it's because she's his captain and his friend and his recklessness often puts himself and others in danger. "my three suns" and "brannigan begin again" both showcase how dangerous it can be if fry (and bender) don't have leela to reel them in.
and i think fry is aware of this, and feels bad about it, so as the series progresses, he tries more often to take command and help her out when he can (i.e. learning to fly the ship). there's also "parasites lost" where he decides he only wants to earn leela's affection if it comes entirely from him, and i've seen the argument that this proves leela only likes him if he changes, but a lot of what fry said were his true feelings, so it's really setting up that leela could be attracted to fry if fry could understand his own feelings well enough to articulate them with confidence (and not bring up his exes in the meantime, lmao). even in the most recent episode, he cleans up his apartment for leela's sake.
people sometimes compare leela to michelle. they're both forceful but lonely women who often take authority over fry. but the difference is that michelle doesn't really see value in fry beyond manipulating him to make herself feel better by comparison. i'd also like to bring up morgan, who explicitly romanticized fry being a lazy slob... and fry never really looks that happy about it! he goes along with it because he goes along with pretty much anything (he explicitly says he dated her because he was desperate), but a relationship where his worst habits are indulged isn't what he wants or needs. fry has spent his whole life being told he's worthless, and he's kind of accepted that, but leela sees his good heart and charm and she does want that for herself, but she's also honest about what stands in the way.
and here's a bit of a personal note: i know many people who relate to fry are neurodivergent. i am too! and it can hurt being seen as "immature" or feeling like you have to conform to neurotypical standards to be accepted. but you know what else sucks? wanting to be better, but not knowing how to be better, and not having any motivation to be better. leela was that motivation. i struggled for years believing i didn't need to be better because my mental health issues were so intrinsic to my identity, and accepting that i can be Myself but still be Healthy was very useful. i find a lot of the fry-leela plot very empowering, as i like to believe there's someone who will like my quirks but also push me in the right direction. leela thinks fry is silly and stupid, and she often strongly disagrees with his tastes, but she is endeared by his unique approach to love because of how genuine he is about it all (see: her love for his office supplies dinner in "fry and leela's big fling," and even the bit with the wine glasses in bender's big score).
fry knows leela is also lonely and miserable, but that she appreciates his company, to the point he believes "she'll never be happy without me" (a mindset he outgrows as it makes him unhealthily jealous and clingy). the entire point of bender's big score is that, as messed up as lars is, leela is attracted to a version of fry who better understands how to talk to her, and this experience helps her appreciate fry a lot more going forward as she truly sees he has the potential to be a good boyfriend. she just needed to see it detached from fry himself. and fry learns to let leela be happy even before he knows about lars' identity! he is capable of growth on his own because he hates seeing her upset!
as for why leela takes forever to commit to him... well, with his impulsivity issues, unintentional rudeness, questionable hygiene, and internalized sexism, he takes a while to be the kind of person she's willing to date. and she's not entitled to him! yes, it is annoying how flippant she can be (though that's also an issue with the writers not wanting to commit), and she absolutely sucks at communication. but if we can take fry's background into consideration here, we also need to take leela's into consideration. she grew up alone, bullied, neglected, repeatedly told she was unloved, and multiple times she trusted someone who said they loved her, only to be discarded once they got what they wanted from her (i.e. sex and labor). she is also terrified of being judged and thus puts a lot of weight on being successful and normal, with her relationships being an extension of that. "the cyber house rules" is all about how she wants to be with a man who makes her look good. this is a character flaw she overcomes as all these men of high status treat her like dirt and she realizes fry is the one who cares about her the most, and she doesn't have to compromise just to be taken seriously.
but fry is her best friend, the only one who really gets her (besides her parents), and she has a lot to lose if she dates him and it goes poorly, and she's too insecure to trust that she's worth it. which is why it's great that fry becomes a better person for her! she deserves to be treated with respect! and episodes like "fun on a bun" show that not only does fry change for her, he also helps her loosen up in turn, and let herself act more carefree and childish after having to grow up and conform to society so fast. "the impossible stream" also shows leela making an effort to be less judgmental, even if she worries fry could be in danger. so it is definitely not just fry who changes for this relationship.
generally i think people who hate leela and make her out to be so emotionally abusive are projecting something personal that isn't there and missing the scope of fry and leela's complex relationship, and it feels unfair. especially when other (male) characters who do the same things and worse (particularly bender) get a pass. she's far from perfect, and that makes her a great character, but she grows and learns, and so does fry -- because they want to learn and grow for each other's sake.

Hi, I know you're taking a break from the fandom rn, but feel free to answer this ask whenever it suits you (no negativity I promise!)
I finished COT, and I felt like it gave off different vibes from other books (not just COG or COI - CC's books in general). I feel like it was darker in the beginning, what with James being sullen and Matthew being withdrawn and Cordelia being exhausted. And the part with London being all dark and silent and lonely and the Watchers going around - that kind of aura, I don't think anything like that was prevalent in other books.
I was just wondering what you thought about that? Did it feel kinda different from the usual too? The tone of the book, especially in the beginning, seemed to give off despair and used hope, though that could be due to James' gloom and all the miscommunication and cracked relationships-
What are your thoughts on the vibe of COT, especially compared with the other books in the series and in general?
HIYA! Oh it's alright ~ for you I'm always available🤗
Yeah the first half was really dark. Golden trio was in their Twilight New Moon Era
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You're absolutely right about James's perspective but I'd also add Cordelia's. Everything seemed really dark through their eyes till chapter 23, I haven't felt this level of depression and hopelessness for a long time.
Oh oh I should mention that I absolutely loved the "Dark London" part with everyone losing their minds. Downworlders clapping for so long their hands start bleeding, mothers singing lullabies to empty prams😳
Yes, I certainly feel the same about the different vibe. Some of the chot scenes seemed more.... mature? comparing to her other books. The way the whole Matthew's alcoholism situation was handled, Grace's regrets, Cordelia's depression, Thomas trying to find the healthiest ways to build his relationship with Alastair, Charles's fears and lack of confidence in himself and everything around, James and Matthew's moments in Edom. The way it was written feels different, but I like this particular change.
And for some reason this book feels shorter than the first 2. Maybe it's because my personal favs had less pages than something else, but it's just me. (Arianna deserved as many pages as Thomastair, MAYBE EVEN MORE I SAID WHAT I SAID). And maybe since I'm reading pretty fast, especially when it comes to Cassie's books, I can finish this whole book in a day. I'll be completely satisfied the day Cassie's books have around 1200 pages ☝🏻or more😡
So, about the "mature" part. Years pass, Cassie's audience grows and I'm really happy that her books sorta "grow" with us? Dude idk why thinking in English is so hard😞 if it was a Russian platform, I'd slay😤So! Cassie added mature topics before, some of the TMI moments were really dark, but the way these topics are written/handled is just getting better. My personal opinion is that TLH characters just feel more real than others and this is the result of Cassie developing her writing. I feel like she's still in the process of trying new things/ways to describe and create sth. And this is why the books have a different vibe.
It can be confusing sometimes, but I'm actually glad these changes happen. I understand that writing one series for decades can be exhausting and I know Cassie has big plans for the additional TLH content, TWP and stuff, but I was so afraid one day she can just give up on it (+ all the hate she received after chot release 😒). So knowing that she's still trying new things gives me hope cause it means she's still invested in this series. So I'm really looking forward to her future TSC project👀+ I'm continuing sending her nice asks
I'd write more, but I wanna eat and I'm lazy☺️

Hey. Hey Luce Hey. Hey.
Remember that Outfits The Boys Like On Y/N post???
I see you mentioning resisting temptation to add Reverse Boys Reactions in in the tags. 👀 May I uh. Enable you on that?
I would Very Much like to know. For Reasons.
I remember the post, yes <3
I'll do you one better though. Because it's been a while, and back then we only had main and reverse, I resisted adding the reverse boys. Preferences stay the same across all timelines, yes, but the reactions differ.
We got a few more timelines by now (:
Reverse: So the ask was about dressing up in particular, which means unfortunately for Dawn he perishes every mission. He gets used to it, he thinks, but he can't do anything he would like to do. Compliments fall on deaf, or worse, unbelieving ears, and he still has to keep it together well enough to not get distracted from the mission. Reverse Robin has a lot more fancy outfits due to their undercover focus, so he regularly gets smacked with something he hasn't seen yet and dies anew. Later in the timeline he tries more and more to subtly match them, to have complementing colors (fortunately for him, red and green are complementing colors) in their outfits, all without Robin calling him out on it or actively counteracting it out of pride.
Moon on the other hand just assumes they have a formal dress code at work, whatever that work is - but it doesn't make things easier for his metaphorical heart. He's more the comfortable type, and not being floored by the novelty he's more thinking along the lines of "I wonder if they ever wear something comfortable." The closest he gets is when they come home late, tie loosened and sleeves rolled up, with their jacket slung over their arm, tired from the long day. Suddenly Moon is having second thoughts about formal clothing because apparently it's unbelievably hot when they're not worn as intended. (Or maybe it's the prospect of getting them out of the uncomfortable clothes and into something more comfortable, but that's nothing he should be thinking about the nice neighbor/ landlord)
And because this time I will not bridle my insanity:
Hatchling: Main: Sun again catches glimpses only - but they shoot his yearning and perceived martyrdom into the stratosphere. Wailing and hitting the floor (metaphorically, emotionally) that that stupid coworker who doesn't even pay attention to them gets to see them like that, while he, who would appreciate their effort, barely gets to see or even interact with them. That's not fair! Y/N is more likely to be the one cracking a joke there - maybe even actually pointing towards his suit, joking about how maybe they could sneak him into whatever event, to have a friend there. Sun perishes, but agrees it would be a nice hypothetical, alas...
Dusk, if not for the fact that he's an animatronic, would choke on nothing (or anything) upon seeing a dressed up Robin. Whether for a work event or a rare nightly undercover mission, he suddenly finds it very hard to concentrate. He doesn't care much for suits himself, but after being very aware of the effect they have on him, a small part of him wonders if he maybe has that same effect on them, too. He squashes the thought quickly though, sticking to a quiet, and probably generic compliment - but only because internally, he's screaming with no outlet for it.
Reverse: Dawn is a peacock and an asshole, and tries very hard to find flaws in Robin's outfits. They strive for the classic secret agent look, with mostly traditional black suits and maybe a very dark green tie, just for a little color. But subtle. With time, Dawn realizes something else, however. If he mentions collar or lapel pins as dashing accessory, a few weeks later Robin will wear some. If he makes an appreciative comment on someone's loafers, a while later Robin will wear similar ones. However, especially with the flashier changes, only once. After the snap and apology, while Dawn is already finding all the mistakes he made, he starts having an idea why. He starts complimenting their suits, acknowledging changes they make, instead of just pointing out what he thinks is inadequate. And lo and behold, they start getting more confident, wearing the pins again and colorful shirts, and Dawn starts genuinely showing them off now that he stops being tsundere about it
Moon is mad. In the "don't talk me I'm angy" way. So not only does the nice, if a bit overly friendly, neighbor have one of those sucky jobs where you have to dress up every single day, but he knows about the coworker they have to deal with, who made them cry - and he stops caring about fancy outfits entirely, because he's already full out daydreaming about kidnapping them to stuff them into pajamas and roll them up in a blanket instead. He doesn't stop himself from thinking about it, because he already thinks he's never gonna get closer to them, so what's the harm? Thinks their effort is wasted and would rather see them truly comfortable for once, but that forever remains in the realm of wishful thinking (or so he thinks)
Dynamic Swap: (My guys the work besties here are basically just Dusk and Dawn from "Promise the Sun and The Moon" they're THAT bad) Main: Sun thinks he's so clever and snarky when he says something like "Oh, so you can dress up!" only to immediately get back a "Say that again and the next time I do will be at your funeral" together with a scathing glare. Later he realizes he very much did an oopsie with that. Especially once he can't stop thinking about it. Where did they go? What do they do? Why did they suddenly dress up? ... Will he get to see them dressed up again? Why did he say that, instead of something that would've actually let them know that he thinks they look nice? Why did he have to ruin things for himself further? Ends up moping about it and doesn't even tell Moon (in detail) because he feels so stupid about it
Dusk is. Oh dear. Good thing he doesn't have a jaw, because he would have lost it! Would be all over Robin, not even pretending to hide that he's looking. He's a simp, your honor. Will ask to sneak away nearly every five minutes, only barely hiding it behind jokes and laughter. But it's fine, because Robin is just as stupid (i.e. smitten) and doesn't actually mind, and is very normal about the attention. If at some point during the evening Dusk does drag them off to somewhere else, that's between those two, and their usual attitude means that no one is particularly eager to look for them and drag them back. Ideally, Dusk gets Robin talking - about anything, really - and just gets to spend the rest of the night looking <3
Reverse: So you get enthusiastic Dawn, who very much gets along with Robin, and loves flirting with them in the "jk haha unless" style, and he gets to compliment them on their outfits? These two probably discuss wearing complementing if not outright matching outfits just because "I mean, we'll show up together/ pose as a couple, soo..." and neither of them actually cares whether their excuses are flimsy af because they get giddy at the thought of matching each other. They're idiots. Insufferable idiots. They're all over each other, dishing out compliments and flirts with basically everything they say, and the worst thing is? It works for them. No one thinks the insufferably sweet and PDA indulgent couple would be secret agents, and then they're secret agents and not even a couple. Somehow, they get worse post reveal
Moon on the other hand thinks he knows exactly why the neighbor is so high strung - whatever job they have requires dressing up, which and white collar or not, it's all the same to him. Also once makes the mistake and tells them that perhaps they just need to loosen up and lose the tie - and then, after their snappy retort, is too awkward to explain that he's only wondering if they ever get to wear non restrictive, comfortable clothes, because that's also not appropriate to say! Stuck between a rock and a hard place, because he is curious what they're working as with how elaborate the outfits get (courtesy of Dawn, who of course does not realize even when Moon shares his pondering), but he can't ask and by now he's already ruined all chances he had. Quietly hopes the neighbor gets to relax sometimes, and withdraws a little further to not be another stressor

FrostHawk for 7, 10, 13 or 22 👀 whatever you think its. That's as narrowed down as I could get since "all" isn't an option 😂
tumblr fuckign ATE MY POST the first time i answered these and i NEARLY CRIED
anyway you can game the system and just send me manageable chunks of the full list over a long period of time and then you get "all"

(…to shut them up.)
Loki loved to talk. He could talk the sun down and the moon to waning. He could talk circles around an orbiting planet. He could talk his way out of a Chinese puzzle box. Loki could talk when there was nothing to talk about.
Clint had got into the habit of switching his hearing aid off, and enjoying an hour's peace before his frequent visitor even noticed. Loki would then sulk up a storm until sulking got boring, and he would talk again.
Clint hated to admit it, but when he did listen to Loki, he thought he was funny. Between the bullshit and exaggerations, there were also kernels of truth in there that betrayed his true intelligence. Also, when he did shut up, he was pretty attractive.
Attractive enough.
Loki was midway through rambling about some journey he and Thor had gone on as kids when Clint interrupted by leaning in and covering his mouth with his own. Loki kissed back, surprised but pleased by the development. When Clint pulled away, he opened his mouth to speak.
"Hey, shut up," Clint told him. "You got better uses for that mouth."
Loki grinned and pulled him into another kiss.
***
(…desperately.)
"Sir?"
Clint had found him tucked away in a quiet corner where he had been trying to get his thoughts together. His whole body hurt and his head was full of fuzz. The archer had removed most of his usual gear, likely to keep it in good condition. He seemed softer this way.
He reached out to grab him by the arm and pulled him close. "You'd do exactly as I told you, am I right?"
"Yes. Of course." Clint's brow furrowed.
Things were going bad. Very bad. He'd thoroughly underestimated who he was up against and everything was a lot more complicated to figure out. They were running out of time.
His head hurt so much.
"Kiss me."
"Sir?"
Loki yanked Clint close to him, arms tight around his waist as he kissed him harder than he'd ever kissed anyone. Clint flinched at first, grabbing his arm to stop him, thinking he was under attack. Then he froze. Loki's mouth on his was not what he'd expected at all.
But Loki was shaking, like the rumble of a volcano about to errupt.
Clint closed his blue eyes and did as he was told, kissing Loki with all he had, offering the god the only solace he could.
***
(…discreetly.) (or not so)
They weren't official yet. Or, rather, not officially official. They were official between them, but they hadn't said anything yet. Loki wanted to, Clint wanted to hold off. It wasn't that he was embarrassed or ashamed - except maybe he was a bit embarrassed - but more he knew he wouldn't be able to stand what everyone would have to say about it.
They'd both changed a lot since New York, things were different, they'd sorted their shit out and now... Now he and Loki got sloppy on his couch sometimes. That was no one else's business!
Thor was with them at the bar, talking very animatedly about something that Clint was only half paying to. It was hard to give it his attention when his preferred Asgardian god was playing footsie under the table.
"Another round!" Thor proclaimed. "This one's on me. I was able to aquire some Midgardian money on a recent trip!"
"Ah, you can get the one after as well, then, as I carry none of that," Loki told him sweetly.
"You will pay me back later?
"Oh, yes, I'll make sure to remind you of what I owe," Loki lied.
Thor left them alone.
"He's gonna find out if you're not careful," Clint warned.
"And if he does?"
"I'm not ready!"
"But I'm so bored of this." Loki slumped in his seat, woefully hard done by. "Thor's not looking our way. Quick. Give me a kiss."
Clint glanced over. He was right. They were in the clear. He leaned across the table to kiss Loki quickly, but the god caught him by the collar and held him there as he pressed a fierce kiss to his lips, staying until Clint made a sound of protest. When they broke apart, he looked immensely smug. Clint frowned and glanced over at Thor once more.
The oldest brother, made a big show of pretending not to have seen.
Clint buried his face in his hands.
***
(…in a rush of adrenaline.)
Hawkeye was not just a code name, it was an earned title. Clint's aim was dead centre every time, and he was fast in his aim. Even in armed combat he was proficient, able to swap to close-range weapons and hand-to-hand with ease, approaching each fight with a fearless aggression.
Loki found it fiercely attractive.
The fight was brutal, and Loki was on the ground using magic and weapons to hold his enemies off. His limbs burned with exertion and sweat beaded on his skin.
He turned, seeing someone behind him, and tensed up, ready to take a blow he couldn't block. But then the arrow hit, and his enemy dropped to the ground. Clint stood behind him, bow raised.
"Barton!"
Loki hurried over to him, crossing the space between them in the time it took Clint to lower the bow. He gripped him by the shoulders and yanked him into a crushing kiss, open-mouthed and heated. Clint moaned against his mouth, wobbling as his knees went weak. Loki pulled away as suddenly as he'd come close, grinning down at him.
"Very good work. You'll be rewarded later."
Clint nodded, heart in his throat, and hoped he'd get a chance to do that again.

I'm glad I waited until the last minute to figure out how I felt about the games I played this year because there were some surprise changes right up until the end. I think I managed to get most things I played this year that weren't just demos onto a list and will have opinions on them.
There will potentially be too many to tag properly, but maybe I'll try linking the game titles to the tags and see how that goes, which should bring up any previous posts about them with more detail (although I still haven't finished updating all the old posts to the new tags yet as of writing this so they might not all work right away).
Also except for the final category stuff within each group isn't really in any particular order, and there's no hard boundary between some of the categories where I think everything in one is definitively better than everything in another (e.g. I think Aria of Sorrow is better than at least some of the stuff in the "pleasantly surprised category", but I liked it exactly as much as I expected to so it is where it is).
So starting from the worst:
Fate/EXTELLA LINK was the least fun I had with a game all year. It's like what if a Musou game felt worse to play and also had an extremely uncomfortable level of pandering to weebs and their waifus in the writing. Blech.
Diablo 2: Resurrected is literally unplayable without creating an account and being online even though D2 has always had offline single player. They don't actually mention this. I only have it because it was cheaper to get the bundle with D2 and D3 than D3 by itself.
Super Mario 3D World is the least fun I've had with a Mario game in literally decades. 3D movement with a fixed camera is awful. I still like the full 3D games and the 2D ones, but this is nope for me.
Pendula Swing is honestly probably fine on a different platform (read: with a mouse and keyboard), but the Switch version is borderline unplayable. The idea seemed interesting but it was so clunky I couldn't get into it.
Ys Origin just hasn't aged well. I played it a long time ago and it was in the "fine, I guess" category, but trying to replay it after some of the newer ones (which will be further down the list) was rough.
And then games that were mostly just disappointing to me:
Diablo 3 is one of those things everyone kept saying at least feels the best to play out of all the modern ARPGs for years, so I finally gave in and tried it to see what all the fuss was about. It feels like Torchlight 2.5 with a bigger budget and was kind of uninspiring overall.
The Outer Worlds was something I was really hopeful about, but I just didn't find anything at all about it enjoyable.
Pokemon Picross is just a bunch of free-to-play bullshit ruining something that could've been fun. The world is better off with the eShop shut down so no one can play it anymore.
Persona 5 Royal is another one I was really looking forward to that I just did not click with at all. The first few hours were full of minor annoyances and did very little to win me over.
AI: The Somnium Files had potential and sounded interesting, but moon logic for solving puzzles should've stayed in the 90s and I could do without all the random horniness.
The World Ends With You: Final Remix and NEO: The World Ends With You are frustrating because they have so many interesting ideas and a neat presentation but just aren't any fun to play, especially the first one.
Tales of Vesperia just hasn't aged super well I think. I know there are people who like it, and I was looking forward to it, but I think I would've had to play it closer to stuff like Tales of Symphonia to appreciate it.
Inscryption is not my thing at all. It's a shame because I loved Pony Island, but I just couldn't get into this one.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is a Donkey Kong Country game, which have always been just ok to me. I should've remembered that and not bought into the hype over the years.
Next is stuff I liked the idea of but didn't really like playing enough to stick with it:
Titanfall 2 has really neat movement and stuff, and I've heard the later levels do some interesting stuff, but beyond that the actual combat wasn't really my thing.
Ori and the Blind Forest had too many frustrating bits to keep me playing through the parts I did like.
Disgaea 4 seemed fun and like it had a lot of potential, but I always find that kind of SRPG way too fiddly, ever since I tried the original Final Fantasy Tactics.
Marenian Tavern Story: Patty and the Hungry God is just a worse version of Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom (see later on the list), which is understandable because they made it first.
Bravely Default I mostly played a couple years ago, but this year I put another dozen hours in and finally gave up on it. I really like a lot of stuff about it, but there were just too many things that frustrated or annoyed me.
They Bleed Pixels seems like fun and has some good pixel art (mostly the story stuff outside the gameplay segments), but I don't think it's for me.
Hero Hours Contract is an amazing idea and I love almost everything about it except for actually playing it.
Luckslinger took forever for me to get around to. The idea of luck being a consumable resource you have to manage is really neat, but I wasn't really enjoying the actual game, even if "pixel art hip hop spaghetti western" sounds great on paper.
Carto is one I don't really have anything against beyond apparently glitching it into an unrecoverable state and not being invested enough to start over.
Cris Tales is another one of those ones where I like a lot of stuff about it except for actually playing it.
Anarcute was a lot of fun for a little while, but it started introducing more elements I tend to not really like. Definitely one of the cuter games on the list with one of the best theme songs though.
Followed by things I had mixed feelings on or the "fine, I guess" category:
PixelJunk Eden 2 was fun enough, but they changed things from the original in a way that seems to be to make it more suitable for mobile, and I feel like most of them made it worse.
Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars didn't quite stick the landing. I loved the idea of everything being cards on a table with a single narrator/GM running everything, and the world and characters were interesting enough for a while. It didn't quite hold up for me all the way through to the end though.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is...better than Breath of the Wild, at least? It's smoothed over a lot of my biggest annoyances with that, and it's amazing that half the stuff in it even works at all, but it still doesn't feel like Zelda to me and has been pretty low priority to get back to and finish.
Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness and the Secret Hideout has one of the worst openings of any game I've played in years and absolutely awful pacing. It did seem to finally have opened up and gotten potentially rather good where I left off (and might get back to one of these days), but it shouldn't take half a dozen hours for that.
Yoku's Island Express is a clever idea and was a pretty good time for a while, but it's also one of the buggiest things I've played in the past year, and that's what drove me to stop playing.
Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age is frustrating to go back to. I loved the demo when I played it a couple years ago, but redoing everything now because I'm playing the full game on a different platform kinda sucks because of how slow the start is.
Will Die Alone has an interesting premise and way of interacting with it, but it stops short of quite saying as much with it as I would've liked.
Chaos;Head Noah had so much potential that kind of got wasted in the end. I really liked a lot of stuff about it along the way, but it's also kind of a mess. Hopefully when I get around to Steins;Gate they'll have learned to do it better because the anime for that one was great.
I'LL KILL HER is basically an interactive comic book, and the main strength is the art. The rest is fine I guess. Every content warning for this one.
Murder by Numbers is a constant mix of mildly amusing and mildly annoying. I hope they can even things out if they make more games in the future.
And then games that were pretty good but not my favorites:
Kuukiyomi: Consider It is a silly idea and doesn't overstay its welcome. I haven't felt an urge to play the sequels so far though.
Theatrhythm Final Bar Line is definitely the best in the series and has tons of great music, but I still have some issues with this style of music/rhythm game that keep me from completely loving it.
Cadence of Hyrule was kind of annoying when I first started playing the demo, but once I got the hang of it I had a pretty good time mostly. The huge difficulty spike at the end left me less happy with it than I was for most of the game though.
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow is probably the best game in this category, much better than most of the others, and my favorite Castlevania game, but it's a little short of being one of my favorites overall this year.
Syrup and the Ultimate Sweet is probably my second favorite in thie category and rather cute and silly.
One Night: Burlesque is the "worst" game in this category and doesn't entirely succeed at what it's trying to do, but I appreciate the effort and the overall vibes.
Gunma's Ambition -You and Me Are Gunma- is literally just a single joke drawn out for like an hour, but they lean into it enough to make it work.
LOUD: My Road to Fame has a couple weird design decisions that make it a bit frustrating toward the end, but up until then it's a surprisingly fun music/rhythm game with decent original music.
Lara Croft GO has some pretty decent puzzles in it and is probably my second favorite Tomb Raider game at this point, but I also had some Issues with it that held it back a little bit.
Next are the ones that I was pleasantly surprised by that were better than I expected:
Pixel Puzzle Makeout League was not what I expected. I figured it would just be picross with a silly dating sim on top, but I had no idea about the themes and ideas it would go into, and the entire ending section of the game in general was great and totally unexpected.
Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom really surprised me. I had zero expectations going in, and while it isn't quite great at anything it's good to very good at a lot of things and was pretty satisfying in the end.
Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion is the most Zelda-like game I've played this year (with close competition from another game down the list), and an actual Zelda game came out this year. Exactly as long as it needed to be and went in a more interesting direction than I thought it would.
Majotori is something I accidentally stumbled on because it was on a list of games that at least tangentially have lesbians in them, and it's delightfully silly.
Death end re;Quest really surpassed my expectations, even if I have significant enough issues with it that it's hard to recommend without caveats. it did some surprisingly interesting things though, and I keep thinking about it from time to time.
Rabisco+ was an impulse purchase because it randomly came up and was very cheap and I had no idea what was going on in the cover art. It turned out to be a short but pretty fun arcade-style puzzle game.
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana was the first Ys game I played since Ys Origin first came out in English, and the series has really come a long way since then and is much better these days.
Demong Hunter was basically an impulse joke purchase because I had to know what makes a demong different from a demon. I still have no idea, but this was way better than I expected from what initially seemed like a cheap mobile game.
Ys IX: Monstrum Nox wasn't quite as good overall as the previous game in the series, but I still had a lot of fun with Goth Adol, and all the new movement abilities added a lot to it.
Perfect Gold did a surprisingly decent job of having flawed characters who worked through problems in their relationship without making them annoying or unlikable like often happens.
Trigger Witch is the other most Zelda-like game I played this year. I totally grabbed it because of the cover art and it was on sale, but it's a pretty solid twin-stick shooter mixed with the LttP/LA era of Zelda.
Will You Snail? was pretty unknown to me before I started playing because I somehow avoided anyone else playing it or talking about it, but it turned out to be a pretty good precision platformer with a fun gimmick, which is hard to pull off for me because I can be kinda picky about how platformers feel to play for some reason.
Vivid Knight managed to absorb nearly all my game time until I finished it, which I did not see coming. I did eventually start to see the cracks in the systems and stopped enjoying it as much, but up until then I got pretty wrapped up in it.
And finally the ones that were probably my favorites, not necessarily in order but with the best generally toward the end:
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition and Xenoblade Chronicles: Future Connected would be more toward the top of the list except this was a replay so I'm disqualifying it. I played the Wii version originally, and they sure did improve almost everything in an already great game in this version.
Bowser's Fury was about as enjoyable as Super Mario 3D World was unenjoyable. I'm not sure it would quite work for a full size Mario game, but there were some good ideas in this one.
Trials of Mana really polished up an older game that I thought was kind of underwhelming back in the day and turned it into something I had a great time with. Between this and the recent announcement of the new game I'm cautiously optimistic about something good in the Mana series finally happening for the first time since the PS1.
Harvestella really caught me off guard. I was expecting a farming sim with some Final Fantasy-style nonsense on top, and it turned out to be 85% JRPG with a story I liked more than anything FF has done in years.
Can Androids Pray is the most last minute addition to this list on December 30th. When a short story (in any medium) really focuses in on a single relationship or conversation or event or idea so well that it implies the existence of the entire rest of the universe around that my brain just starts vibrating. This is one of those.
The House in Fata Morgana takes a long road to get to its ending and the characters earn every step of the way there. It also surprised me by being a totally different flavor of queer than I expected.
Unpacking wins the award for best vibes. I had a lot of feelings about this one, probably including some they weren't expecting people to have when they made it, and it does a better job telling a story than most stuff on this list despite having no visible characters and almost zero dialogue.
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim I think wins for my favorite story/writing this year. People said it was a great sci-fi story, and not just for a video game, and they were right.
Fire Emblem Engage is the winner for my favorite gameplay. They absolutely nailed a lot of the mechanics and systems on the game design side of things, and it's my favorite Fire Emblem game at this point.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed gets this spot for my favorite overall. They polished the already great gameplay of XC3, introduced some great new characters and brought back some old ones, and managed to expand on a lot of the story from the entire trilogy and tie up a bunch of stuff all at the same time.
And I guess that's finally that. There were some pretty big disappointments for me, but there were even more really great games I played and ones I had no idea I'd like as much as I did. I think I'm just going to tag stuff in the final two categories (since that's what'll fit) and call it a day.

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love 💖
💞😍
Thank you so much for the question!❤ this was HARD, but I did realise I've got a few stories of my own that I really like.
The Ice We Skate - My first proper longfic, and one I still think about daily (because I'm working on the sequel)
Summary: Bucky Barnes lives and breathes for hockey. Just pushing himself to try harder, to do better. On the ice he can forget for a while. It doesn't matter where he came from, it doesn't matter who he's lost, it doesn't matter that the scar on his face is a tiny reflection of those inside his heart. When the new defenseman, Sam, joins the team, it seems like he might get it, maybe even better than his best friend Steve does. If ever there comes a day when he can't play hockey they'd better just take him outside and shoot him. But that day won't come. He can do this forever. He can do this forever, right?
2. Bucky Barnes' Year of Peace - This one has stuck with me more than I thought it would, and I still can't seem to let it go.
Summary: Bucky just wants peace. After Steve leaves, Bucky slips away to find some. In the small town he winds up in, he finds more. He finds himself.
3. Collapsing Sun, Vengeful Moon - I killed Sam. Not a lot of people read this one, probably for that very simple reason, but I'm quite proud of it.
Summary: Bucky tried to piece himself back together, to be someone else, the person he used to be. Sam believed that he could, and that made it worth trying. Sam and Bucky are lured into a trap. After that, it isn't worth trying any more. Those who trapped them have to pay for what they've taken.
4. The Steve Rogers Special - Stucky, and honestly my best one yet.
Summary: Bucky is haunted by his past, by the things he's done and the things he hasn't. Sam's the best boss and friend he could hope for, and he's already been given more chances than he deserves. He doesn't dare to hope that he deserves anything anymore, so he just keeps fake-smiling as the customers roll in and out. And then Steve Rogers bumbles into the coffee shop, and everything changes.
5. Those days are gone forever (I should just let them go but) - I still think about this one every time I hear The Boys of Summer, and it makes me nostalgic for something I've never experienced myself, which is weird.
Summary: Sam was nine years old the first time he met Steve and Bucky, having just moved to the small town where they lived. Now he's twenty-seven, returning for the first time in years to celebrate Steve's wedding.
Thank you again for the question Andrea! I'll send it on to a few❤

I'll Let the Seasons Change My Mind (1/10)
also on AO3
featuring: Luigi, Mario, Bowser, Bowser Jr.
wordcount: 1117
Tumblr media
It's the holidays, and the Mushroom Castle is bustling with life. Family, friends, and strangers alike are celebrating together, gift-giving and well-wishing.
It's a beautiful occasion, Luigi knows that— Yet he can't quite seem to reach that festive excitement everyone else seems to be experiencing. That isn't anything out of the ordinary, he's used to taking a while to keep up, but right now… Well, he's struggling to find the light, and he can't identify any issues he could be having, which is frankly frustrating.
Mario and Peach are mingling among the guests, while he stays sat at the long table, covered with the most beautiful feast anyone could imagine. He's eating spaghetti from home and wearing an ugly Christmas jumper, painfully aware of how he sticks out like a sore thumb in situations like this one.
Luigi spins his fork lazily to gather his food, head rested against the palm of his free hand in an effort to dampen the noise around him.
It's not long before he's considering slipping away to head home, before he's thinking about how maybe he shouldn't have left at all in the first place— Who would notice his absence? Always hidden in his brother's shadow, 'the green one', how different would it have been if he stayed comfortable in his bed, watching the fireworks from his window?
… Even his window isn't in the best shape, the sill's gone slanted under the weight of well-watered plants, he needs to figure that out.
Taking a bite and setting his fork down, Luigi shifts to take a notepad and pencil from his pocket to begin sketching, coming up with ideas. Slanted windowsills are a good problem to have, much more easily solved than figuring out whatever's happening in his head.
He only gets to go at that before he feels a gloved hand on his shoulder, hears his brother's voice. "Everything okay?"
"I'm alright if you're alright." Luigi responds half-heartedly, finishing up his third idea before managing to look up— Mario doesn't seem too impressed with his answer.
"Is it too loud? I can ask them to turn down the music—"
"The music's fine, Mario." He hadn't even noticed the music beneath all of the chatter. "I'll leave it's too much."
"I don't think anyone wants you to leave…"
It's Luigi's turn not to look convinced, further worrying his brother.
Tapping his shoulder, Mario nods to the balcony. "Come on, fresh air and bro talk."
Luigi sighs and nods his surrender, closing his notepad to tuck away with his pencil before following his brother out. Times like these, when Mario notices something amiss and attempts to help, he feels worse for feeling bad at all. Not everyone is so lucky to have such a caring family member.
It's beautiful outside. Already night time, stars twinkling brightly in the sky and moon reflecting in the water. Luigi only wishes he had more time to appreciate it, but the look Mario's giving him with crossed arms tells him to get talking and quick.
"I don't know what's wrong, I just… am not in a good mood."
Mario's expression softens a touch, lips pursing to one side. These are the harder things to deal with— But better when not alone.
"You looked sad…"
"I might be." Luigi shrugs, picking at the bottom of his jumper. Suddenly, it's feeling a bit too itchy for his liking. Or is that just the nerves. "Hard to tell."
Mario nods, watching him carefully. "Do you want to go home?"
"Maybe. I don't think anyone would mind."
At that, Mario smiles, only confusing Luigi more when he glances back up to attempt reading his reaction.
"What?"
"Someone else noticed you weren't looking happy. I was gonna leave you be, I know how you are… But they asked that I check up on you."
"I already told you I'm—"
"It's not Daisy."
Luigi's heart stops. Okay, a lot to process when he's already struggling to process things— But at least this has possible answers.
"Who, then?"
"Another royal."
Eyes widening and cheeks flushing, he takes the slightest step back in disbelief. "You're joking. That's not nice, Mario!"
"Believe me, I can't believe it either! A princess and a king chasing after you…" He teases, brow raising as he prepares to attempt reading Luigi's own expression. "You've caught Bowser's attention."
Luigi doesn't know how he feels about the fact that doesn't sound strange or off-putting.
It's been a while now since peace was reached between the kingdoms, and to Bowser's credit, he hasn't done a maliciously bad thing since then. Mistakes and accidents happen, of course, but the Koopa king is showing an effort to change and act for the better.
If Luigi's being honest, even with their long history being against Bowser… He always had this faint feeling of kinship in the back of his mind. People think the worst of him if they think of him at all, and his relentless pursuing of Peach— He was clearly lonely, desperate for love.
Knowing that feeling makes Luigi more unsure; Is this love, or is this two people trying to fill an impossible gap?
Swallowing, he turns to lean over the marble railing, looking out at the water while he considers this— An impossible riddle to solve alone, yet one he doesn't think he wants his brother of all people to be involved with.
Mario comes up beside him, hand resting on his back. "You know there is no pressure, the ball is in your park…"
"I know." Luigi answers, barely above a whisper. "I will speak to him, at some point. Tonight is too soon…"
His brother smiles at that, stupidly proud for what most would consider a baby step. How else do things begin getting done, after all? "You can go home if you need to, I'll wish him a merry Christmas for you."
Turning, he begins to make his way off of the balcony—
"Give him this, for me?"
Looking back over his shoulder, Mario's brows raise to see Luigi holding out the pin he'd horribly mismatched with his jumper. A peony, his favourite flower.
"Very romantic, Lu." He remarks with a nod as he walks back to take it, laughing when he receives a playful punch to his arm. "I'll deliver it faster than you can say Lakitu!"
And that he does.
It's a small gift, a tiny gesture, but it warms the King's heart to no end. He looks out to the balcony, smiling slightly at the fidgeting silhouette before gathering a sleepy Junior up onto his shoulder to carry home, peony pin worn proudly over his heart to be seen by the other guests upon his exit.

So lunar is back and they finally got a model it seems they commissioned the same person who did Earth's but interesting enough Lunar's is better looking (there's somethings like the mouth for example are hard to look at just feels like an empty void) and still has the cuteness factor.
Second as we progress the video puppet and eclipse have a talk a long the lines of "don't you dare bring him back, because I see things, I saw the future everyone is in danger" and puppet is like "I don't care I'm bringing him back" and he does. Before they depart back to earth Lunar is there sitting in his pod while the computer/ai is finishing the process once it's done Lunar is awake he says "why am I small?" But he just sounds very sad and dull, he doesn't sound like before all cheerful and happy. As they try to leave Eclipse takes over the AI and keeps saying to Lunar "something will happen to the people he loves and this time it won't be his fault it would be yours" and Puppet is just like "come on kid, let's get going, just ignore him" and the episode ends there.
On the TSAMS channel we have a therapy session between Earth, Sun and Moon. Idk if Kat (Earth's VA) is studying or studied something along the lines of psychology or they have done extensive research on the topic. But more like a therapy session I felt like it was when your mom sits you down with your sibling and talk about differences to come to an agreement, that's what I felt. Like earth noticed right away that something was wrong with Sun and sun didn't want to talk about it and what did earth do? She began trying to distract sun so they wouldn't talk about it and she also said "venting will make you feel better" or something. she then went to moon and moon was like "he lied to me" and the whole family session started and they both expressed their emotions "I see, so you know Moon cares for you Sun. And moon sun really cares about you. You both don't want anything to happen to each.." they brought the situation with the old moon and sun said "I'm just waiting... For it to happen again.." and earth is like "the memory reset?" Sun says "no, moon to start acting like his old self because he has the same mannerisms, the same anger.." and other things I can't remember. To which moon replies "well, I'm not going to be like that" and they didn't hug it out but at the very end they shift the tone from something serious to something cheerful by saying "Let's go to the Barbie movie" and Earth is like "yes I'll put a lot of things in my hair, let me go get my pink clothes" and moon is like "yeah, I'll put some tec I did that goes around my neck to project color without painting myself" and sun is like "you know we can change color" and moon is like "I can only change my eye color, do you want the tech I made?" Sun replies with a "no" and jumps out of the balcony and says "Thank you Earth"
I tried my best to summarize both shows so yeah! :)

aah I think I saw a post saying Lunar was back, but the issue was if he is a child or not- as for models, it clear they had more time to actually work on it, unlike earth, who had to be rushed.. so I imagine he looks somewhat better (im sure the artist did their best!) as for Eclipse part-- im a bit confused.. is Eclipse now able to see the future? so far, the universe they live in is.. still Eclipse universe, the one he made.. so make sense he has some control but weak.. but is odd - does this relate to ruin Eclipse in some way? or will be related to them? since they dont belong there but .. stayed? apparently? as for Earth... eh. maybe I was wrong.. maybe she is good for them.. like, doing this , this talk and all.. but it feels.. wrong , like, please lets remember, she is a new person in both Sun and Moon life.. she may live there, and all, but is been a few months , is not enough time to trust someone with deep feelings.. even if, she is the only one to like them.. but eh, if she is actually helpfull, then good on them.. I have an issue with the "Sun doesnt accept new Moon".. like, is so normal to feel afraid and just.. not be happy with the whole situation, lets get on Sun's shoes or slippers - he had to share a body with someone broken, cruel, angry, who eventually grew to be a brother, who yes, was mean, hit him and wasnt "nice" BUT was caring on his own ways, and the two learned to care for each other.. that person, who Sun saw grow, trust and eventually got to be in good terms.. is gone.. is all gone.. now this copy is here, is nicer yes. but as Sun said "is acting similar" one part of Sun maybe just , love to have a nicer brother! of couse! but other will fear the old moon to be back.. and with that, the hits and all.. I may defend old Moon a lot, he wasnt an angel, but he was most of the time right, he was doing the best he could, yes, hitting Sun was terrible, but lets remember the whole "stick" joke wasnt been use in a loooong time still.. I just felt like, getting mad that Sun is not ready to accept the new Moon to be. really, a new Moon, is cruel.. Sun never got so say goodbye, never got to trully understand Moon motives.. he is always having to accept what ever happends- is a bit too much.. but aaah, anyways.. is confusing- but is good the two got to chat. new Moon should be patience and learn to wait for his "brother" to accept him - thanks you so much for your ask and time!! <3

Maybe he is still tired from whatever the hell it was that plagued his dreams. The lingering effects draining the demon of what energy he might have recovered from a night spent with the vixen at his side. It is the only excuse he could attribute to the odd sensation overtaking him; leading motions to withhold their known aggression for delicacy.
“… I’m here.”, he responds as his fingers rose to find a perch back over her palm. Slow and lazy circles returning as a fleeting pressure was applied to lay her hand flat on his pectoral. Another wanders until it fell on the curve of her waist. “… Where else would I go?” Grin returns yet the humor fails to reach his eyes. Something else tugs at his senses, toying with the twisting deep beneath the cage. A fire burning wild, tearing down what layers he possessed in place of … well, he is not entirely sure. Nor could he understand the rush filling his veins as he turned positions until she was left atop, her silhouette kissed by the ethereal glow of the moon.
Rough pads rose, brushing across her knuckles. Slim wrist caressed once again before it continued on its way up along her arm until it could finally grant claws to slip through raven locks. Each motion slow, and deliberate; wandering strands tucked behind an ear only to soon gesture with a tender push to draw closer. “… I’ll make it worth your time and more …”
What is this? What is this sensation burning beneath the skin? Why? It seemed no matter how hard he tried, the answers refused to come. Instead, he is consumed by this … this desire. This painful, agonizing, yet tumultuous hunger for … what? Why is he so compelled to … — “Anything you want,” he whispered as palm fell from her waist to stroke her thigh. “However you desire it, Soon-hee.”
@lunarxdaydream || Throwing bread crumbs at me
Tumblr media
A brow rose even as the faintest huff of amusement puffed past her lips. "You know what I meant." 'You would go wherever it was that your dream took you,' hung at the edge of her tongue, ready to respond, but instead she simply shook her head with another quirk of her lips as she soon found herself settled atop him.
Something dark in her wanted to recoil from the touches, hiss at the tenderness in the way clawed fingers ran through her hair. The last time anyone had touched her in such a manner had been a lie, and it burned her to think of allowing another to do so again so intimately.
But, well...it wasn't really her that he was touching, was it?
Though it was her name that fell from his lips, the demon wondered if it was truly her that he was seeing in that moment, whether he himself knew it or not. It was clear whatever he had seen was affecting him, and she considered herself smart enough to realize that the normally violent man's change in behavior had to do with said dream.
...Not that any of that mattered to her really. Her hands spread flat against the man's skin, eyes locked on her fingers as they dragged downwards, savoring the heat beneath them. "Worth my time?" Dark hair curtained around them as Soon-hee's lips parted to murmur.
"I thought you knew better than to make deals with demons. I'll hold you to that, you know."

Decided to do this ao3 wrapped, writer's edition [here]
Questions answered below the cut
How many words have you written this year?
Started tracking in early April so it's not completely accurate, but somewhere around 98,339 words
How many works did you publish this year?
11 separate works but I posted/updated 16 times
What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?
Probably Lotus Eater! Or my ShiObitober works
What work of yours has the most hits?
Talking To The Moon. It has double the closest work
What work of yours got more feedback than you expected?
Honestly? Heretic got more love than I had expected. I really wasn't proud of that one but people seem to like it
Favorite title you used
Lotus Eater, hands down (thank you, Jo!). Black Sea Wine and Honey & Harvest are runners up.
If you use song lyrics, which artist’s songs did you pull from the most?
I don't really use lyrics to title works but I do include lyrics in almost everything. - Heretic is inspired by Florence + The Machine. - Death and All His Friends includes I Found by Amber Run, and Broken Crown by Mumford and Sons. - Talking to the Moon is the only one that's a lyric title. It's (obviously Talking To The Moon by Bruno Mars). It also has Blood Upon The Snow by Hozier, Who Are You, Really? by Mikky Ekko (VERY kkob in this fic), Which Witch by Florence + The Machine (again), and Love Is A... by PVRIS.
Pairing you wrote the most for this year?
ShiObi (3 times)
Favorite pairing you wrote for this year?
ShiObi or TobiKaga, probably!
What work was the quickest to write?
Ino Supremacy Flash Fics were quickest. Other than that, probably Black Sea Wine for ShiSaku week
What work took you the longest to write?
I started Death and All His Friends in 2019, so that one, obviously.
How many WIP’s do you have in your docs for next year?
Uhh, fuck, somewhere around 15?
What’s your longest work of the year?
Talking To The Moon is now my longest at just under 20k
What’s your shortest work of the year?
Better with 384 words
What WIP are you taking into next year with you?
Talking To The Moon, Honey & Harvest, Golden Veil of Autumn, and Heretic.
What’s your most common “Additional Tags” tag?
Ino Supremacy, I think. Otherwise its something to do with suicide.
Your favorite character to write this year?
Obito!!!! my son
The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year?
Definitely Tobirama. Love him, but he's tough.
What’s one pairing you want to explore next year?
More ShiObi! Or maybe TobiIzuKaga
Which work of yours have you reread the most?
Technically Heretic 'cause that editing process was brutal. For leisure, definitely Lotus Eater.
How many kudos in total did you get this year?
557
Which work has the most comments?
Talking To The Moon, by far.
Did you do any collaborative works this year?
With another writer, no, but I did collab with TBH-Logic on my ShiObitober works! She created some gorgeous art.
Did you write any gifts this year?
Lotus Eater!
Did you receive any gifts this year?
YES 😭 Jo's A Quiet Thunder was gifted to me and I'm still obsessed
What’s your most common category?
M/M
What do you listen to while writing?
Usually anything, though I do have specific fic or character playlists
Favorite work you wrote this year?
Lotus Eater
Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?
Oh, man, this one is hard. I'll list a few, I guess From Heretic: Konan reforms from a scattered wall of paper, pulled together like beads on a string. Kakashi screwing with Tenzo at the end of chapter 1 in Talking To The Moon still makes me laugh. In chapter 2, It was a vulnerable position with Nobara in his blind spot, and it was instinct to want to push back. But what did it matter in the end? Nobara would kill him or he would fuck him. Either way, Kakashi would be satisfied. In Death and All His Friends: “I don’t think it’s peace that bothers you, it’s change.” Izuna’s glare grew hotter, fury simmering just beyond dark eyes. Tobirama was not cowed by it. “You fear what your place would be in a world that no longer needs soldiers when being a soldier is all you know.” and A cocky smirk curled his lips at Tobirama’s muttering, an eidolon of days long past and nightmares that continued to haunt him. “You should know by now,” Izuna crooned. “You will never get rid of me.”
Biggest surprise while writing this year?
Editing sucks, but I knew that. I'm surprised at how much I posted, honestly.

2223- yesterday and forever more
i tried to go to the gym tonight. i could tell by the parking lot it was crowded- i came home and went for a walk/run outside-under the almost full moon and clouds. i would choose being outside to being in the gym anyday. I'm having a week. Maybe the past few weeks? I saw James tuesday- technically i failed to bench 85lbs- or did i? I'm not even sure- i attempted to doit and on the 3rd one my mind started to wander and i didnt complete it. i have no idea what i was thinking about- one second i was there-the next i wasn't. he asked me what happened. my mind focused and then not- he made me do it again and i completed 3 so i did the 5 but not in a row.. the highlight of my week was seeing Kika- she is precious and she loves me. she is always so happy to see me. i try not to think about the fact that she is old and going to die..
I'm hormonal this week. probably why ive become antisocial. it's hard for me to not be hard on myself when i get like this- the very last thing i need is me being mean to me.. but that voice in my head is STILL there- no longer a roar- a whisper of self doubt and loathing. i wish i wasn't aware of how fucked up i am. the more i learn the more i realize how messed up i really am- i'm not sure it's such a good thing to know how screwed up you are. some people don't have a clue-
i was angry this week too- i always throught x was a better person than he was- i tend to do that with people. I am learning though. I will not tolerate lying. i can't disrespect myself like that. i guess i'm mad because it would have been nice to have someone to hang out with- but he turned out to be a liar- not only a liar but someone who looked me in the eye and lied about lying. i even said to him so you're not even going to own up to it.. he didn't know what to say- he texted me to call him when i got home so he could explain- i never did- nor will i. i've learned some hard lessons about people and the lies they tell. i don't know that there is anything more important than trust in a relationship. i would have wasted time with that insecure bitch boy. i should have thanked him for showing me who he really was.
Work is hard- every day i find out another thing i am responsible for. My team is doing great. so far they are doing everything i have asked of them. I figured out real quick that the corporate world runs on reports. i think i heard it mentioned 1 time something about a report and i was like OHH that's how they keep track of us. I always wanted to look good on the report. why? i dont know why? because i care entirely too much and i like to do a good job.. ANYWAY- now i have to look at reports for my people. there is a report for everything and i am bombarded with them multiple times per day. We came up with action plans- All are doing great and far exceeding expectations. Its pretty amazing and i hope it continues. it's not easy though and i've had to have conversations i wish i didn't have to have-only 1 girl is not doing what we talked about her doing- i believe she is trying- she is going through a lot of shit and has no support and my heart breaks for her. I am going to have to sit with her next week and go over the reports and let her know there hasn't been any improvement with what we talked about. it just sucks. I'm getting 2 new people on my team next week for a total of 6. i'm taking it day by day. another thing i have to be gentle with myself about-i'm bound to mess up and not know everything- it's been a real challenge.
life is good- i can do hard things- giving up is never an option-Spring is almost here- i don't like texting-my daughter is now claiming to be vegan- life changes- hope i never feel my age- a grateful heart is a magnet for miracles-
I finally got rid of all the bird feathers i was collecting. I was going to make myself a pair of wings to get into heaven- just in case. i decided not to do that and to trust that i'll earn my wings somehow. i kept a couple cool feathers.i was going to take them down to the river and have a ceremony. it's bad enough i have a rock collection- i had to let the feathers go-in my backyard. for now on i will only bring a feather home if its super cool or if i need a certain color for a spell.
i've been sleeping better than ever. i am going to go look at a condo on sunday- it doesnt hurt to look. i know it sounds horrible but i'm kind of hoping the housing market crashes- Good night almost full moon-

✽ Placements as Avery Lynch Songs ✽
Hey there! I'm back with another placements as songs post! I love doing these and I love Avery lynch so I hope you enjoy this!
Earth Venuses: Wont Even Know it -
"And I still know what it felt like the first time you looked at me I remember the whole thing like what I was wearing Hoped you thought I looked pretty And I've been falling deeper in and you have no idea And I'm too scared of saying it 'cause I know That those feelings aren't there So I'm gonna keep on falling in And I'm gonna keep on hoping one day I'll get over it"
Cancer Dominance: I Put You First, And You Did Too (as written) -
"Acting like you love me just to leave me Nothing could prepare me for what I thought you'd never do But you know it made you look so crazy Saying that you wanted to protect me From all of the people that hurt me like you do Cause I put you first, and you did too And all of our fights about who loved who most, I won At least I'll sleep tonight knowing I never loved you wrong"
Leo Moon: All I Need (the distance song) -
"And I'm sick of kissing you in my head Oh baby, tell me, when can it be real instead? 'Cause I would do anything to be close to you again And it's hard being here half empty When somewhere different is my favorite part of me If I could just hold you for real That's the only thing I'll need"
Air Dominance: Holding My Own Hand -
"Guess you only want me when I'm there to fix you And the part that kills me is that I'd still love to But I just want to thank you for not being there for me And I think you should know just what your selfishness has taught me And even though it hurts like hell to feel alone again Because of you, I got a chance at holding my own hand"
Pisces Placements: Love Me Nicely -
"'Cause we both know you make me cry and it hurts you Then I'll stay and comfort you saying I'm fine And we both know I deserve better than all of this But I'll still be there to kiss every night And no it's not fair to me But I don't want anyone else 'Cause I know that you love me but could you love me nicely"
Capricorn Placements: I Lied -
"'Cause I don't usually get caught up in stupid love But here I am completely broken up over someone I said like seven times to your eyes, "I'll be fine" I know I said goodbye, but what if I lied? I don't wanna be without you, swear I tried to I told myself there's more than you But I'm so unconvincing Can't fake it for a second, I take it all back I want you more than I'd like to I tried, but I lied"
Gemini Moon: Out of Love With You -
"Something switched in me you know A change I never thought would come And I don't know what went wrong With me and you But I didn't mean to fall out of love with you No I didn't dream in a million years this is what I'd do"
Fire Dominance: Over It -
"Honestly I don't care really what you're doing You might need somebody to hold onto Thinking all of the songs I write are for you Truth is I don't know how you came up with this But I'm over it I think you hate it, that I'm not hating life without you And the things that I do for myself they were never about you "
Water Moons: To Love Someone Else -
"'You're perfectly good Probably better But please don't waste your pretty time on me 'Cause I could fall for you if I wanted to And I could get attached and love the hell out of you Yeah I could fall for you if I let myself But I don't think I'm ready to love someone else And I hate him for not letting me feel like I can finally breathe I hate it"
Taurus Venus: Not Ready Yet -
"Maybe I don't wanna forget, no And i've been real tired of pretending That there's someone better just waiting And I don't think i want that Yeah I don't think i'm ready yet And maybe I'll move on when I've felt it's long gone But I don't think we're there yet, no"
Sagittarius Placements: All I Wanna Know -
"I'm dying to ask you 'bout everything Even though knowing your answer might hurt me If what we had was real love And there's no denying it Then you knew when you ended us What we would be losing And I know it wasn't easy But all I wanna know is baby When was the moment you felt it When you knew you wouldn't regret it"
Libra Dominance: Sh*t People -
"I finally found it so exhausting it’s been so long That I’ve been who everybody takes it out on Yeah I’m stuck with some shit people in my life Don’t get me wrong good ones make it fine But it still gets hard sometimes And I always internalize And I hate that I’m never on my side I got these shit people in my mind And they never treat me right And I’m so tired of justifying"
Scorpio Venus: Round & Round -
"You're the prettiest mistake I'll ever let myself make Yeah you're the person I most hate but I can't let get away You take me Round & round & round And I don't think I wanna get down You take me Round & round Round & round But please don't let me down"
Saturn Dominant: The Closest to That -
"And all you do is love me I have no reason to worry But I'm convinced that someone's gonna want you And I'm scared that then she'll be the better other half of you Oh what if she's been the one for you And I'm just the closest to that That you have ever had"
