There is an Iranian drama called Mortal Wound. It's a mystery series loosely adapted from Macbeth. It's an amazing show. The second season called Mortal Wound, return had been aired for a while now and I finally got a chance to watch it. The second season is also a Shakespearean adaptation. It's loosely adapted from Hamlet. I watched the first episode. It was BRILLIANT!!! I really liked how they fit the plots of these two tragedies together. I loved how they picked small details from those plays and build the characters dynamics on. I could actually tell which characters meant to be who. I haven't watched the rest of it yet but it seems to be very promising.

Requiem

Despite the undergrowth and tangles of thorns, he was unimpeded in his search. His target was moving slowly if at all, he knew without seeing. Young adult. Female. Bleeding. Wounded deeply. The scent of blood wasn't what guided him to her, but the scent of inescapable death. This was his purpose, his very reason for being. He was hated for it. Feared, despised, cursed upon. And blamed. Few would hear the stories he had to tell, but he never let himself forget even one.

When he wrapped his hand around her, she finally began to cry, giving up her efforts to contain her exposed innards. "You know what I am."

"The bringer of death."

"No."

She said nothing more to him, nor he to her, and they were enveloped in silence as he carried her. The pond was full of skeletons, the men and women and children he had carried to their rest for decades. He set her into the water, gently washing her face and hands even as she bled into the water.

"I do not bring death," he said, stroking her cheek. "I remember it."

As she began falling away from the world, he took her hands in his, and began to sing. Through this song he knew her, lifting her soul to the sky as her body ceased all motion.

Few would hear the stories he had to tell, but he never let himself forget even one.
