Hello there!! I was looking through some of the discord shenanigans posts and I was just wondering if you’re accepting new members?
Hi! Well first of all, glad you enjoyed the comics! It means a lot to know that you enjoyed those silly shenanigans ❤️
Sadly I’ve already left the server recently, so can’t really help much 🤷
For ppl curious my rambling, as always, will be under read more👇
As for you question:
the server’s called “TSP creators club”
yes, I believe they still accept new members, you can contact @/kelpiekidd or @/heckinrissa I think (not tagging them, to not disturb them)
They’re mods there, should help with it 🤷
This might sound weird to some ppl bc I was heavily associated with TSPcc
To be frank I wouldn’t be where I am right now, if not TSPcc: I would’ve never stuck with The Stanley Parable for as long as I did, never could’ve met so many wonderful creative people (many of whom are my friends right now)
+the server kick-started my recognition as a creator
For that I’m thankful and still look back at this part of my life with a warm smile
But nothing can last forever
(god I’m saying it like something horrible happened, which is not the case)
Basically
The reasons are mostly the same as why I left the TNP fic*: I’m not active on the server + most of my friends left from there
(*TNP - The Narrative Parable fanfic – a collaborative project involving many other creators and narrators)
So um yea, this might not be enough of a reason
But I will not do a whole comic on “The history of TSP fandom” right 📓🖋️
(oh wait I might actually 😭💥 you will maybe get this joke far in the future)
___________________
I also want to address
Discord Shenanigans aged, quite a lot
I do not regret making those comics, I still like them to this day
But
That content is not something I want to be known for, to me, it’s part of the past
I look back at them as archived memories
They are like an old photo album of sorts 📒
____________________
This does not mean I’m leaving TSP fandom
Want to be clear on that one
I still enjoy the game and the community it built around itself
Yes I still enjoy the fandom, despite meaningless drama in the community that ruins the fun for everyone
(It’s my first fandom I was a part of, I’m biased ok 😈)
‼️ I do not justify any messed up people who are or were in the fandom ‼️
What I’m trying to say that drama/creepy people are just part of any fandom experience honestly
I totally understand people who just don’t want to be a part of the fandom, it’s reasonable and valid. I’ve heard some really messed up stuff, I don’t know the full extent of every situation and don’t want to discuss it. I don’t believe I have the right, nor the information to even mention it. Creeps are not a fandom’s problem, creeps are just a problem.
And if people don’t want to address those situations: do not harass them with questions. If people want to address their experience or thoughts, they will. If they don’t want to start drama/don’t feel comfortable/just simply don’t want to - you should respect their decision. No person is obligated to report anything to the crowd.
On the side note (since I can’t shut up) - Barry
I kinda 👀
I kinda wanna explore him as a character and tell the story I made for him 👀✨
I will make a separate post about him later down the road
But as for now: yes the potential story revolves around tsp + Narratorverse aspects, yes I may abandon that idea bc of how complicated it is, yes I’m talking and overthinking too much - we will get there when we get there 🤚
So I’m still here, I still care about tsp creators: they do amazing stuff and they are wonderful people
As always sorry for that scroll of text 👉👉 thanks for your time, see you in the next random huge text post 👋

a bit of personal writing advice
i remember when i was considering making a new story with aianna after leaving a server that had some issues where I used the character to rp, i remembered some advice from a book on how to write comics.
it said that if you really think about it, batman is an absurd story. guy in a batsuit fights crime against a clown, a guy with two faces, a cat in latex and a scarecrow.
and yet it became a cult hit. so the book said to never doubt any idea you have bc it could be the next sleeper hit.
and even though i read it as a child that advice has stuck with me, and im glad it did. Now @magicalrobodokiofficial is one of my most popular series (304 hits, while not that much to some people, is more than twice the views i've gotten before, and on deviantart i'd get 100-200 views per chapter).
to those who stuck around, kudosed it, loved it and cherished it, thanks!

Things may be slow this month, but i suppose that isn't exactly new with how the story has been getting updated lol.
I just wanted to make this lil thing. I have a discord server where i have been logging and keeping track of changes and updates to this au and the story. (Personal server so no invites, plus that would spoil a ton of stuff lol). Also not just for this au, but all my other security breach aus, and other aus for other fandoms. Not as many of those, but still.
I look back at it a lot, yes, for reference, but i also started to look at the dates i made stuff. So much of this story has been planned for months, and written down in it, and to see it all finally coming together is honestly a feeling i never thought i would have.
Like i have said a few times, this fanfic is the first full story, and first fanfic i have ever tried to write publicly. I have written many stories, yes, but many of them are not public, nor will they ever be public. Mostly in comic form, but they're still stories nonetheless. The last stories i ever wrote publicly were on amino. Wolfquest Amino to be exact, and all of those were done back in 2017 or so. Most recent being 2019, which was discontinued. I had not really written at all since then (except once in 2021). All of those stories were short, and not well put together when i look back at them. (The 2021 one was longer and better, but not exactly great) I used those skills on roleplay instead since then, which, i think honestly improved those skills by a lot and perhaps my character interactions as a result too. (Thank you very much to the people who complimented how i wrote out the fights both in the prologue, and Part 5, and even the people complimenting the character interactions in Part 6! It makes me very happy every time i read them! ❤️)
In all honesty, i never thought this little au of mine would get as much attention as it's getting, and it catches me by surprise every time i look at it. As of my writing this, Rising Eclipse has 193 kudos, 70 comments, and almost 3300 hits! For my first, that is insane! /pos
And seeing the story coming together, as slow as it is is such a surreal feeling for me. Thank you so much to everyone who has read it, and has stuck around, left comments, kudos, all of that. It's helped me continue over the past several months, so just, thank you all so, so much. While Rising Eclipse still has 2 chapters to go, i can promise it won't be the end of it. I have several side stories in mind that i have started semi-focusing on now while still focusing on how the last 2 chapters of this story will go.
To think, i had so much of this written out for months. Heck, i've had the main plot of Part 7 written since April! Who knows, maybe i will share a few things from it when it's done.
I had the whole base storyline for Rising Eclipse written since December. The AU itself has been a concept in my head since late October.
It really has come a long way. I rarely fixate on any au i've made for this long straight at a time.
Speaking of discord, would anyone like me to make a discord for the au for people to chat about it? Mainly just a hangout. Not really a bot person so it would be unlikely i add any bots to the server.
May as well finally put the poll option to use lol.
Also this turned out to be not-so-lil lol

WIP tag (with a twist!)
The fantastic @sindirimba tagged me for a really cool WIP game 🤩🥳👏🏻❤️
Rules: post the names of all the files in your WIP folder regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them and then post a little snippet of it or tell them something about it! And then tag as many people as you have wips. (You can make your own post or reblog this one!) I have deemed that this isn’t just for writing either. Sketch titles? Comics? Dnd campaigns? If you have an unfinished project, it counts!!
Because how fun is that? Not just writing but other WIP projects I'm doing! SO *cracks knuckles* LET'S DO THIS!!
Boy this got long (that's what she said)
Personal WIPs (I'll skip over the two that are technically WIPs but I have already started and are almost done on AO3):
Cult AU (some 10k already written but put down as I focused on fandom events this year) - picking it back up in November!
Soft sequel of Memento Mori (but I'll upload it as a Ch 2 and 3 to bridge between that and - . . . ) 🗡
Fandom Event WIPs
Memento Mori: America (vs London above) - my FTH project #1 🌇
FTH art project #2 📚
TOG BB 🏫
TOG BB pinch hitter art project :)
@lmzine (digital, kickstarter mock ups, prepping for sales in October)
Cover for the LMZine (happy accident, but I'm excited to try a different style than I normally do)
And I sadly lost like five art WIPs last week due to an app crash that didn't back them up properly to the cloud 🥲 BUT currently working these personal art WIPs:
Eddie Munson (also in a diff. style than I usually do) 🤟🏻🎸
And my hubby and me are prepping our FIRST DND characters EVER for our very first DND CAMPAIGN ever (fingers crossed for this month!) . . . So I'm hoping to draw him soon!
And finally blog/discord related:
Coding and setting up a multi fandom server for basically like two dozen friends in October lol
And the interfaith fandom blog 🌈❤️
Tagging: @nade2308 (returning the favor 🥰) @awolfstudio (you always have such lovely projects going on!) And like ten other people I haven't tagged recently lolll
Extra rambles lol: I also technically have some eight other WIPs with like rough outlines but at this point can't see myself even beginning to take a look at them until like early spring of next year (things from like a year, to a year and a half ago lol, but maybe TOG2 will help get those revived 🥳)
And why yes, I do have everything organized with Google docs and notes lol and am so excited to share these with everyone as they start rolling out for fandom events - oh! And I did two pieces for the LMZine and the Spring Tides (OFMD) Zine over the summer that I'm also super excited for y'all to see come fall 🍂🍃
I deal with a lot of chronic health issues, as does my family, but usually over the winter months I'm stuck indoors a lot and honestly it's easy for this ESFP extrovert to get fairly bummed - so having things to look forward this winter to stay connected with people and community is actually really helping curb the existential winter dread this year lol! So though this all may seem like a lot - it's all really helpful for me and I'm excited to write and read and play around in fandom spaces a lot over the winter 😊

hey in light of me avoiding tommy lore in emotional distress-
Lets talk about our dear friend Connor, shall we?
--SPOILERS for Tommy's March 12th stream--
I think since the first time I saw this guy on the SMP (that one time he got held hostage for something he had no relation to lul), I've been so interested in Connor. I mean like lorewise or not, my man is severely underrated and I genuinely enjoy it so much whenever he pops up randomly. Emphasis on the randomly? While Connor may not be very involved in lore, he's been used in many situations as the friendly comic-relief! Especially with times like him 'taking his home back' from Tommy, accidentally getting taken hostage, or simply adding an extra comment or two that makes the others (and us) laugh.
Which brings us to the first instance of ...Connor lore? Cue Tales from the SMP.
The most recent TFTSMP episode, the haunted mansion, centered around a party that our friend Connor was hosting. Nothing out of the ordinary of course, but one of the first things that stood out to me was that the host was.. Connor? And at this point you might be saying, well of course it was him, that's what it was about- and you're right! But what I mean, is why did Karl choose for an episode to focus on Connor? A character, who is barely involved in any lore and is recognized as the funny guy who sometimes shows up? While, I'm ecstatic truly that Connor is finally getting some spotlight, it's really interesting that the episode focused on his event, and in the near future nevertheless! [Also a funny tidbit, that may not be too important, but the two times Connor has tried to get involved and do an event, Schlatt, or rather Glatt, is there.]
On to our next instance! Tommy's stream. The day he was released from the prison.
One thing that I think was one of the most important takeaways from this stream, was how with every interaction Tommy had after being free, a new storyline was introduced! Whether it was a storyline already hinted at or completely new, this stream was a big help to show us different characters and where their story is going. Most of them were characters we already know about, or at the very least, have seen bits and pieces of their storylines being hinted at. For example, Tubbo and Ranboo's newfound relationship, Sam's grief and his now broken relationship with Tommy, Quackity's upcoming business, Jack Manifold admitting to trying to kill Tommy. Even indirectly interacting with Puffy through her therapy office! (I haven't seen the stream yet, but Ik Puffy did some lore) All of these characters we're familiar with except- well. Connor.
This stuck out to me wildly during the stream, that out of all people, one of the first he interacted with was Connor. Also surprisingly, he was trusted enough by Tommy to tell him everything- well, almost everything that happened. In the process of trying to get Connor out of his house, he read his diary. The first page was simple, mentioning his grief for Tommy's death and getting food I believe. The next page- you can see for yourself.
Tumblr media
*Cue Awesamdude voice* Whaaaaatttttt?
We can assume this entry takes place either the day of or sometime after Connor's party at the Haunted Mansion. Well, Maybe. We'll get back to that in a minute.
So, the question is, what does Connor know? He could know either one of two things, that Karl is a time traveler, OR that Karl is an amnesiac. Let's look at both.
Lets say Connor knows Karl is a time traveler. First of all, if this is what he knows about Karl, I am IN LOVE with the idea that one of the most uninvolved characters up until now knows a big- if not the BIGGEST- secret on the server. But also since it's such a big secret, it's hard to believe that he would reveal something that wild behind the scenes. Here's where it gets complicated though. If Connor does know, that leaves us with two opportunities where he could've found this out and made the diary entry. One, sometime after Tommy died and before the TFTSMP event, Karl and Connor had an interaction, that for some reason?? Led to Karl telling Connor??
Or.. two, the TFTSMP Haunted mansion. Which would mean Connor is not so different from Karl. Aka, he's also messing with some time business, just as the latter is. Because not only was that diary entry not too long after Tommy's death, but that TFTSMP episode was in the future- Definitely more recent than the lost city of Mizu, but surely not only a couple days in the future? The only way this is possible, is if Connor did some time traveling just like Karl and went to the future. And maybe perhaps figured out Karl's secret along the way? As entertaining as this idea is, it doesn't have much substance to it yet to be honest.
Let's look at option two for what Connor may know about Karl. While he may not know of the time travelling, he may have found out about Karl losing his memories. This is the more viable option. I can see this being something that they can leave out for behind the scenes, while also bringing it to light in the lore. With this, Connor must've had an interaction with Karl, that led to him finding out about him losing his memories and himself. Why Karl would tell him? No idea. Maybe he wasn't worried about other people finding out if he vented to someone who isn't too involved. Who knows. But, it'd make the most sense.
Not only that, but it'd also backup Connor's sentence of "hope he sees a doctor." If Connor knew about Karl's time travelling secret, it would be weird to think he could solve it with simply, seeing a doctor? Especially if we went with the idea that Connor was a time traveler himself, like, why would he say that? In the context that he knows about Karl losing his memories, it would make much more sense for him to mention a doctor, as it sounds more like a mental/medical issue more than anything. Just as Ranboo has a short term memory, Connor could simply see it as something Karl really needs to get checked out.
So, what can we take from this? Not only those this reveal bring many new openings for Connor's storyline to start, but it also makes a connection between Karl's slowly degrading condition in TFTSMP to other characters in the dream SMP. Yes, I know we have Kinoko Kingdom, but Sapnap and George.. don't really know the real purpose behind it? They know Karl wanted to move his library for this, and they aren't allowed in there. Besides that, Karl is very secretive about what goes on with him. This interaction gives us a character connection to Karl that provides even the slightest opportunity of more people being aware of his state and growing amnesia. And from there, well, questions will arise.
All in all though, I am sooooo excited to see if Connor gets more involved with the lore outside of and with TFTSMP, and with Karl lore nonetheless! So many storylines were introduced and mentioned today, and I can't wait to see where each of them go :D

9 Anti LO Asks
1. anyone else notice echo is colored similar to hades too? so hades has the hots for a tiny hot pink variant of his mom, and hera (apparently) wants to sleep around with a female version of hades? rachel you know there are other colors, right? tell me you know that
2. hi, im someone who dated someone who was extremely hateful but considered me one of the "good ones" of my race: hera doing that with echo is extremely dehumanizing and, seeing as nymphs are a different race in LO, really racist! i understand there's no actually IRL races involved in LO, but the fantasy racism allegory is still there, and they all look bad! very, very bad! why am i not surprised the well off white lady would have unintentionally bad race takes in her comic! big yikes!
3. server x royal and boss x worker is VERY popular on webtoons in general, but at the very least the majority of them are all 21+ characters with emphasis on them being, well, adults. LO stands out because hades is depicted so much like an old man even by WT standards (40s according to RS) and persephone is ... not, she in canon is stuck at 19, so she's more akin to a high school MC than the MCs from adult/sex-filled romance comics that LO tries to be. It's kinda creepy for that fact, tbh.
4. with recent anons i have to say again that it's unlikely RS puts any of the harmful shit into her work with any ill intent. she's just ignorant and also doesn't think. except maybe that classism because it's so blatant that it's hard to believe RS really doesn't notice it??? is she ever going to bring it up??
5. thats what i dont get about the stans. they've been flooding every single mythology and pagan tag for years now where they shouldnt be, they've harassed and threatened pagans and greeks for not bowing to LO and RS's "genius", they've tried to tamper with actual wikipedia pages, and have doxxed and sent death/r*pe threats to critics and fans alike, but they act like tumblr having a broken tag system is our fault and we must accommodate them? these are grown adults acting like entitled children.
6. i dunno if anyone remembers the "Our company's Women of Color" meme that was just a bunch of white women in rainbow-colored shirts, but ... lore olympus. that's lore olympus. i havent seen that meme since 2015 but its LO to a fault. rachel thinks women of color means purple and pink.
7. wait is rs going to make hera x echo a canon thing? didnt hera torture and basically magic murder echo in myth? how is that a healthy relationship? then again this whole comic is about romanticizing a r*pist and his kidnapping and forced marriage of his victim into a "love story", so i guess its not shocking rachel has some bad takes on "improved" pairings for her girlboss, karen version of hera.
8. As a response to your most recent anon, as a Greek myself, the story is just the same old boring cliche of romanticizing a part of our mythology, same as Percy Jackson or Song of Achilles (another cheap attempt of making profit out of a culture that doesn't belong to them, but eh)...Our mythology has been SO overused and 'defiled' that honestly, it is mostly makes me indifferent than it makes me displeased..Not only Americans but also Europeans have been leeching off of our cultural history for EONS and no matter what we do, they will continue to do so...my word of advice to anyone thinking they are offending Greece or smthng by enjoying these pieces of media is that it is okay if you like them, some of us like them too, some of us don't, it happens..just remember that whatever you read is most certainly a retelling and that the actual material is much less 'enjoyable'
9. So I dropped Lore Olympus a while back...I liked it at first, considering it just a simple piece of media to consume but some people criticizing it had some really good points...so after some consideration I stopped reading it..but lemme just say, the death threats and blatant hate ain't it..it is entirely possible to like a story AND being able to see the flaws in it...all the antis sending death threats to fan content creators and calling fans "apologists" was too extreme...everyone is allowed to have their own opinion on the media they choose to consume and sending hate to one another is a completely pointless notion🤷

hey!!! just wanna say that i really appreciate ur analysis on bnha, esp those regarding dabi, since it really helped me arrange my own thoughts on the plot. however with all these analysis im curious if this means u actually believe horikoshi is a good writer? cuz tbh im still not yet convinced in his abilities, which sucks in a way cuz it stops me from expecting more out of the whole series.
Do I believe Horikoshi is a good writer... Hrm.
First, I should probably clarify that when I watch media, I don’t deliberately try to watch or read only the “good” things. I feel like if I only stuck with manga authors I think are genuinely “good” authors, I’d probably have a grand total of two manga series on my shelf (Noragami and Fruits Basket, lol).
Instead, there’s a post going around right now that describes this perfectly--my philosophy toward media is often “I didn’t say it was good, I said I liked it.”
A writer does not have to be an objectively good writer to produce enjoyable stories, and a story’s plot and characters don’t have to be perfectly developed to be likeable.
The writing of My Hero Academia has a lot of flaws, at least to my sensibilities. There are too many characters for us to care about them all. The women and romantic subplots are poorly fleshed out at best. So much emotion and time has been invested in the villains that any scenario in which at least some part of their ultimate goal is achieved will feel like a hollow victory at best. The pacing of arcs is all over the place. Power-ups are often hand-waved without decent explanation. The subplots that pack the greatest emotional punches are often neglected (re: All Might and Mirio and Eri). Opportunities for small moments of world and character building are frequently overlooked. Important side elements like the U.A. traitor plot get dropped for too long. I could keep going for a long time.
But there are a lot of really great things in the writing and character building too! Bakugou is a fantastic deuteragonist. Even though the cast is too big, most of them do have clear and distinct personalities and unique traits. The villains have incredible impact and appeal. The premise of All Might--the washed up Number One--is an awesome premise in general. When Horikoshi really nails a moment, like Nighteye’s death, he really nails it. Aizawa’s character and his entire backstory is incredibly moving. The potential present in the plot to make a strong statement about society and individuality? A cool idea to think about by myself, even if the story never delivers! Toga and Twice’s friendship? Villain versus villain subplots? A+ stuff.
So no, I don’t think Horikoshi is an objectively great writer.
But I do think that My Hero Academia is a perfectly enjoyable story that I love a lot.
As for expectations... I generally keep my expectations for canon--from any series!--low. I go into shows and comics with the expectation that most storytelling in media is going to be “flawed” from my perspective and that there is always going to be something I wanted to see happen that just won’t ever get delivered on. The author isn’t me, and they’re always going to write the story they want to see, which is never going to fully line up with the story I want to see.
But I think it’s also important to go into stories with the knowledge that canon only really has as much bearing with you as you want to give it. If your favorite character’s backstory in canon doesn’t live up to your expectations? Ignore it. Re-imagine it however you want! Dislike the way the story ended? Daydream up your own ending! Don’t like a twist the plot takes? Tell all your friends and Discord servers how it should have gone instead. XD
The best part of the internet, to me anyway, is that creativity remains a free action, and if you feel let down by a story’s canon, trust me, you will NOT be the only one. You can always find a home and fellow fans in fandom that would love to hear about your alternative ideas for the story, and AUs, fix-it fics, alternate headcanons and more are always going to be highly desirable to fans.
We live in a time in which it is not only possible but also easy to produce transformative content for media, share that transformative content with the world, and find plenty of like-minded people who totally agree that canon could have done things so much better.
Long story longer: Media is almost always going to disappoint you. Even if you try to keep your expectations low, there will always be things you wanted to see and didn’t get in canon. A lot of fan content exists specifically to fill those gaps, so personally, I recommend that you let yourself fully enjoy the things you like, but get ready to be creative if necessary!

Scott likes being Alpha but the responsibility is so hard, he just needs to let go for a bit, to feel nice and small. He joins a dungeon a couple of towns over, and is shocked to find his hairy, leather-clad father in the middle of a scene with Stiles. He cant believe his best friend is sucking the cock that made him or how much he wishes he could join, that he could be "Daddy's dirty little faggot" too. To SUBMIT to such an alpha, to be USED.
This Little Wolf : Stiles/Raf & Scott/Raf
“Okay. Next time you decide to do a favour for those hunters, can we please make sure that it’s not a messy job?” Liam groaned. They were covered in blood and dirt. Stray tree branches stuck to their bodies. All remnants of their most recent battle.
“Maybe next time make sure it’s not a freaking Chupacabra. Do you know how long it’s going to take to get all this goat blood out of my clothes? Months Scott, literally months.” Stiles chimed in flailing his arms wildly as he tried to shake some of the gore from himself. Stepping over rocks and exposed roots he grumbled on. His steps were slightly shaky because of his innate self and the darkness of the forest.
The pack had been called out on an urgent job. The Argent hunters needed their help with a hunt. Something had been terrorizing the local farms in search for their meals. Animals went missing and they feared it was only a matter of time before the farm hands were next.
Chris had called Scott out to help with tracking it down and covering a wide area, there couldn’t have been more than one and if they didn’t catch them all it would have only scared them to the four corners waiting for its chance to strike again.
“Alright, alright. Got it! They needed our help and now we’ll be able to know we’ve helped the people here alright?” Scott frowned. He knew that the pack hadn’t particularly liked it but it was their job to keep town safe and that included doing this.
“Oh no, he’s doing that face again. I’m out!” Stiles put his hands up above his head. His body was wet from the water he had used to start cleaning the grime off. “I’m not being guilted by that puppy face again. I swear he gets me every time with that shit --”
Liam opened his mouth to agree.
“And you.” Cutting in Stiles pointed at the youngest beta
Liam’s own face was shocked before it fell into mope of being called out as well.
“You’re not any better! You’re both a bunch of puppies” Stiles said before he stormed off to the car and leaned against the hood. He crossed his arms and waited, realising that he wasn’t going to be able to leave without Scott since he had the keys. His grumbling was just out of ear shot so it left the group with the incoherent sounds of Stiles probably complaining about something again.
The Alpha and beta pair stood there pouting and sad. Their eyes wide and forlorn, like two children that had been scolded by their mother for drawing a pretty picture on the walls in crayon.
Mason chuckled from behind, relatively clean from the whole affair managing to escape with only some dirt and some stones. “Come on baby puppy time to get you home.” He patted at Liam’s shoulder leading him away from the group as they dispersed from where they had gathered after their mission.
Scott was greeted with the soft smiles and smirks with heads shaking in laughter as they went. He knew that it wasn’t the most glamorous life but they had the power to do something. To help people and maybe save somes. To him that was the most rewarding thing. But sometimes even your friendly neighbourhood True Alpha needed a break from it all.
~~~
Protecting people and having the power to help those who rely on him. Scott liked it, he wanted to help people. He was finally like the superheroes that he and Stiles would read about in their comics. It put some confidence in his step when he knew that he was able to be the reason that people could walk around town in peace. Children could happily play in parks and families could walk safely around their town. He was a hero but he never knew that  it would be this much. Everything he did felt like it had more weight than usual, his decisions affected everyone. It was a lot for one guy to handle.
A break. That’s all he wanted. Just a small day away from everything. He didn’t want to be Scott the True Alpha. He just wanted to be Scott again. To be carefree where people didn’t place him on a pedestal of power and justice. He didn’t want to be in the limelight as someone everyone looked up to. Just for a moment, he wanted his old life back. Fading into the background and being just part of the scenery.
Driving out of town Scott gave out a sigh of relief. Cross the borders he was going to try to find a town where he wasn’t known, spend the day and just relax. Kick back and try to be somewhat normal again. No wolf shit, no monsters and no hunters. He had told the pack to relax for the day, take the day off training and hang with each other.
Scott had set off early in the morning so by the time he found a place it was time for lunch. He drove around the city before stopping at a diner. Sure it wasn’t the most high scale food he could get but he didn’t want that right now. He wanted something normal and low brow.
When he got into the place it was something of a dream, the place was decked out in a retro style and not just for show. The seating, the counters, it all was a homage to the rock. There was even a jukebox in the corner. Scott smiled with awe as he found an empty booth. He didn’t have a chance to pick up the menu before his server came over.
“Hi there, welcome to Moe’s! I’m Kyle, what can I get you?” The waiter who came over had his pad in hand and smiled widely at Scott. Surprising him with how fast he had come up.
“I uh.. Haven’t had breakfast, what would you recommend??” Scott said shyly. His smile admitting his guilt of not even looking to see what they offered in the diner. Both his stomach and mind hungry for something.
“Well I would suggest in that case the Chicken and Waffles, best of breakfast and lunch.” Kyle pointed to the item on the menu with his pen. Everything about him was peppy and bright, from the way he spoke to how he was writing.
“Sounds good, that please, and some orange juice with it.”
“Sure thing, I’ll be right back.”
The waiter scooped up his menu and darted off as Scott was left to take it all in. He reached into his pocket looking for his phone. Taking it out he checked the time and started to unlock it. There were no texts from the pack but he wondered how they were getting on. With no training they probably were all enjoying their extra sleep. He put it back on the table without checking anything looking back into the diner and seeing Kyle coming back.
“One orange juice. Say, you’re not really from around here are you?”
“Uh, no. I’m from out of town. Wanted to get away for the day, you know, get out of town for an escape.” Scott offered back as he sipped at his juice.
In that moment Kyle glanced back and looked around the diner. His bubbly self becoming a little more mischievous instead. “Well.. If you’re looking to really get away.. Try this place later tonight.”
The waiter slipped a matte black business card on the table towards Scott. There wasn’t much on it but a drawing of a hexagon, gold foiled so it stood out from the rest of the card. On the back there were a series of numbers, long and random.
“You won’t regret it.” Kyle winked at Scott. Turning on his heel at the dinging of the bell. He spun around and left Scott so fast that there wasn’t any time to ask for clarification. When he came back Kyle was back to how he was before but only this time he didn’t stay to chat. “Enjoy your meal.”
With that Scott was all alone again. Sitting in his booth with his food in front of him. He began to pick up the knife and fork, the smell of the meal in front of him was too hard to ignore. In his haste he pocketed the card and started to devour his food. After driving all morning it tasted like the best meal of his life.
The meal was nearly finished as fast as it had appeared on the table. With a satisfied sigh Scott leaned into the comfortable cushions of the booth and stretched his limbs. Sticking out his feet and leaning over giving his body some mobility after being trapped in the car for so long.
With his belly full and his body relaxing he sat back contently and listened to the music playing. This was the normal he wanted, this was the kind of thing he missed. He was able to sit down and have his breakfast without any interruptions. Where he sat wasn’t influenced by other people’s needs, his meal was even quiet for once. He didn’t hate his friends, he loved them. But there was such a thing as loving too much.
It felt good for once to be able to just not do anything and not have to worry about anything. Scott spent his time in the town walking around, checking out different shops and different parks. Taking a nature trail or two. It was even so sunny that when Scott found a riverbank in a quiet area he went for a swim.
He was laying down on a towel staring up at the sky. Without any cares in the world he had almost all but forgotten everything. It was really what he needed.
When it was time to go Scott reached for his clothes and shook out his jeans. Taking the grass off of them from where he had put them down. Getting dressed again Scott looked down noticing the black card that he had gotten at the diner earlier.
Looking at it again there wasn’t anything particularly flashy about the card, but it was the simplicity of it that caught his attention. Shaped like a regular business card it was a matte black, on the front it had a hexagon printed in gold foil, and on the back it was just a series of numbers.
They were too long to be a phone number, and too weird to be dates. Scott got confused the more and more he looked at it. He might not have known what they were but someone else might. With his phone in hand he started to type in the numbers to his search bar. Which took a while, between their length and Scott going back and forth with it was confusing. He got lost once or twice and had to start all over again.
But once it was done he searched for it and put his phone down. That was just enough time for Scott to finish getting dressed and put his shoes back on.
After the search was done it made sense. They weren’t dates, they were coordinates. That’s why they looked weird. There wasn’t anything Scott had to do so he figured why not look at the place and scope it out. What was the worst thing that could happen? It wasn’t like anyone was going to have wolfsbane ready to weaken him with, if there was any he’d be able to smell it and get out.
It wasn’t too far of a drive from where Scott was, he hopped into his car and followed the gps. As he travelled further, the closer he got to his destination the more Scott noticed the diminishing number of people around. By the time he had stopped seeing regular people Scott pulled in, parking at a gas station he decided to walk the rest of the way. It was a few blocks from where he stopped but what was a few blocks for a wolf.
The building looked like any other building in the area, large and tall. Its exterior looked like any other shop that was on the street. It all seemed normal if not for the fact that the door wasn’t at street level. Scott padded down the steps he had found making his way to the door.
He tried opening it once, rattling the handle and shaking the door but it didn’t budge. The blinds were pulled over the glass so he couldn’t see so he did what any normal person would. He rang the doorbell.
Scott could hear the shuffling of feet from behind the door, slowly moving up. Their speed told Scott that they hoped he would go away but since he was here he wanted to know what the place was.
The man behind the door opened it to find yet another customer waiting. “You’re a little younger than our usual guys but I’m not one to turn away money. However, that being said you’re a little early. We’re not open yet.”
“Oh I’m sorry!” He opened his eyes wide and tried to apologise. “I was just given a card and was told to come check this place out. I don’t even know what it is.” Scott dug into his pockets and pulled out the card, flashing it at the man. “See. I just punched in these numbers and it led me here.”
Watching Scott the male recognised the card. It was something that he hadn’t seen in a while, there weren’t often people like him that turned up but when they did it was always a good new business opportunity.
Changing his tone the male opened the door and smiled, dressed in a waistcoat and some suit pants he let Scott in. “In that case, welcome to XXX, a place where you can lose the outside world.”
Bowing to Scott he welcomed him into the area. “Since you hold this key, you are a special guest. Please follow me.. Master....”
“Scott. My name’s Scott.” He answered quickly, blurting it out as he was enchanted by what was happening. Looking at the man now he seemed more like a butler than anything and inside the building it looked stylish, an homage to the 1920’s. It was well decorated with little bits here and there, carpeted with each room setting their own feel.
“Well them Master Scott, if you’ll be so kind as to follow me.”
The mysterious man started to walk through the house, bringing Scott away from the door he continued to lead without looking back. “It may confuse you at first but this is a Gentlemen’s Club of sorts. As such it is a place where men, such as yourself, may come to enjoy some time alone, some peace and quiet. Or if you wish, some time with others in the more public areas.
Scott followed closely behind him looking around the place as he saw plenty of different things, library room, office room, a lounge with a fireplace. He even managed to see a more open space that looked like it was a bar that had a stage.
“We pride ourselves on being able to accommodate all sorts of requests here, so if there is something you need, do let us know. I am the head butler here, but you will see other members of staff like some of my fellow butlers, the footmen, the coachmen, and finally our hall boys. As this is your first time with us I will tend to your needs.”
The layout of the building just kept going and going, they went past room after room. Scott couldn’t smell anything weird from the place. It smelt of cleaning product and there was the faintest smell of alcohol from what he would say were one or two messy spills. As they went through the building Scott got a glimpse of the men that his guide had been talking about. Getting dressed, cleaning and doing different jobs around the club.
“And here will be your room, your card please Master Scott.”
Scott placed the card into the man’s out held hand. Standing there as he watched him slot the card into a hole before the door unlocked and opened up into a small room.
“Please take a seat and enjoy yourself, should you need me just press that buzzer.” Pointing to the table where a counter bell sat.
With that the man left Scott alone again. The room was like a study with a blocked window opposite the door, a book shelf, comfortable couch, a dresser and table. There was even a TV. Scott didn’t know what it all meant but he wasn’t passing it up. Hopping on the couch he lay back and switched on the tv and sat back.
If the point of the place was to spend time then who was he to deny that. Time passed quickly around as sat back watching show after show, and even movies. Halfway through his binge of a series Scott managed to find some snacks and drinks. Those two additions made his time in the room even better.
His attention had been so focused on the tv that he didn’t notice how long he had been sitting there until he heard a voice come through some speakers.
It had some club music in the background and a voice that was commanding each line punctuated with a sound.
“Sit up straight boy.”
The sound of a whip jolted Scott up from his position, following the voice.
“Look at you, filthy, messy, you expect anyone to respect you?”
Scott was dazed and puzzled by what was going on. The TV was still on but someone was talking. But he still followed it, listened to everything it was saying. The words pierced through him enough for him to obey. His heart beating as if he were in the middle of a fight.
“No, you don’t cause you’re a pathetic little boy. Now shut up,listen, and obey your master.”
The sounds faded as Scott looked around. Finally the curtains on the windowed wall began to move. Pulling back to reveal darkness. The stillness stayed for a moment or two until the new area was illuminated by a lights overhead.
Cold and grey. Dark and ominous. This new room was nothing like anything he had seen in the club before. In the middle of the room was a male on his knees. The most noticeable thing wasn’t the mask that covered his face or the rope around his body. It was hard-on that he sported.  On the opposite side of Scott’s view, behind the male, he could see another wall, and two more that angled towards him. The reason for the layout of the room as a hexagon becoming clearer. Which meant if Scott was on this side, there were others behind the other walls.
This wasn’t a kidnapping or hostage. This guy was here voluntarily, and he liked it. The whole situation was frightening Scott. One minute he had been relaxing watching some TV now there was just some naked dude kneeling on the floor in front of him.
“Welcome Masters to tonight’s show. Our boy here is tired from life, and he wants to forget the world, his responsibilities and his life. So he has offered his body to us for the night to make decisions for him. To take him away from the world. To escape.”
Scott could feel his heart bursting from his chest as if it were trying to beat its way out from inside him. He knew they were talking about the guy in the middle of the room but he still felt as if their were words pointing to him. A shudder made his way up his neck. It felt like eyes were peering at him. The sensation lingered
“Before we get to the main event, let us enjoy our pre show. Please pick up your remotes now and make some choices for him. ”
A click caught Scott’s attention, looking beside the couch on the table beside him the drawer had opened up with a remote in there. It was a small remote that had four different colours as well as some smaller ones.
The screen in Scott’s room shut off and switched to a different display. Showing corresponding buttons he could see different options. Ice play, tickling, dildo, all. He was in control again, it wasn’t just him. There were others as well, at least 5 other people were there making choices and controlling this person’s fate.
Looking down at the remote it was small and looked insignificant but staring at it Scott imaged himself on the other side of the glass. How it would feel to be like that. To not have a decision , to listen to what people told you to do. To relinquish control. He wanted that, it was what he had left on his little vacation for. He didn’t want the control , for once he wanted someone else to decide.
Before Scott managed to select an option he heard a ding. The words ‘Ice play’ flash up on the screen as the winning vote. Without a break a door opened and from it came two butlers, at least that’s what Scott thought them as. He couldn’t tell the difference between butlers, and footmen and hall boys. With them they had a bucket of ice which they began to put to use.
Picking up the ice in their gloved hand they ran it across the male’s body. His neck, his chest, and down his back. Scott could hear everything inside the room. Each soft moan. Every bated breath he had in anticipation for the next shock. They teased and played with him. Water dripped down his body. His nipples were hard from the attention. His cock never faltered from its erection.
All while he watched Scott pictured himself in that position. Giving up his control and being helpless, for once not having any responsibilities. In his daydream Scott’s own cock grew hard, his hand reached down and started to touch himself. Stroking his cock his mind wandered with every moan and sound he heard.
Scott was too engrossed by his own hand that he didn’t notice another man entering the room. Wearing a mask, this man was taller, stronger and older than the male in the middle of the room. His own strong chest was framed by the harness he wore that accentuated his broadness and muscular stature.
When Scott finally opened his eyes he saw that the new comer was grinning as he approached the boy. The other two that had been attending to him were now gone, disappearing with the man’s arrival. Was this the show they had mentioned earlier?
“Are you going to be a good boy and listen to me today boy?” The voice asked. This wasn’t the first time that they had met obviously.
“Yes…” Kneeling and weakly the smaller male responded.
“Yes. What? You know the rules boy, what do you call me. What are you? Come on, say it!” A foot pushed into the other’s back. Shoving him to the floor the male was on his hands and knees. His face pushed against the cold floor while his as was still in the air.
“S-sorry Daddy! Yes Daddy! I’m Daddy’s little faggot” He replied dutifully and hurriedly.
“Good boy. Now, breathe in, take deep breaths. I don’t want you whimpering out on me again like last time.” The man was clearly in charge, it was his domain and the other was living in it to follow his words, now consequence if he followed his orders. No decisions to be made, just obedience.
He brought over a small bottle. It was dark and fit in his hand, hardly noticeable if he hadn’t shown it off to the room before shoving it against the other’s nose. Forcing him to inhale against the opening of the bottle. Scott couldn’t tell what it was, but he could hear that it was doing something to the other’s body.
His heart started to beat faster and the moans grew louder but more slurred. They weren’t as sharp as before. Each inhale caused the sounds to roll and become one long sound. Whatever was in the bottle was enough to make the tied up male weak. Scott didn’t need his hearing to know that.
Next came the cock. Scott watched in awe as he saw a thick hard cock get pulled out from the man’s pants. There weren’t any words or even gestures. It was harsh and fast. One second the cock was being taken out the next a face was being smashed against it.
Opening up his mouth then gagging around it Scott sat there his eyes never leaving the scene before him. It was the messiest and hardest blowjob he had seen. Grunting and straining muscles, balls slapping against a face. There wasn’t anything spared.
There was even slapping for discipline. All of it showed Scott what giving up control was and he wanted it. His cock was leaking in his hand, stroking it the entire time that he was watching. Scott wasn’t any stranger to porn but he had never seen it like this, and he wanted it.
It wasn’t just a normal blow job, there were power levels and work. The man’s cock was being worshiped and slobbered over by the other, and they weren’t done. Everything he had been watching he wanted. His hand hadn’t left his cock the entire time. Picturing himself in that position with the man who was a real man. Power and control that made Scott want to submit to him and give up the world.
Pulling apart from each other they were changing the scene bringing in a bench and surface so that the real fucking could begin. Taking a break from his leaking cock he edged himself while watching the show Scott picked up his remote and pressed the button with an ‘i’ on it.The button caused the screen to start up again changing as two pictures appeared, showing something that Scott had never thought he would see.
On the screen were the faces of his best friend and his father. Labeling them as the people in the room. Scott had been jerking off to his father and his best friend. He had wanted to be in that position with his father. That was the cock that made him. The reason he was so horny and turned on.
He didn’t only want to be Daddy’s Little Fag Boy, he was. Raf was the Dom here and Scott wanted to submit to him. The thought of it only made him harder, it made him want it more.
“Dadddddyyy!”
The sound of his best friend screaming pulled Scott from the screen. His eyes moved over slowly. He didn’t need to look to know what was happening. He could hear the sounds, the slapping, and repeated thuds. There wasn’t any way it was anything else yet when Scott finally looked it still surprised him enough to make his heart race more.
His father was fucking his best friend now, and he wasn’t being kind about it. Raf was brutal and spared nothing while he was fucking his sub’s ass. The bottle was brought up to Stiles’ nose again this time letting out grunts and groans from inhaling it.
Raf let out deep growls and laughed at Stiles’ reaction to it all.
“That’s it you dirty little slut, breath it in, fuck I can feel your hole getting all sloppy and loose.”
There was so much for Scott to watch but he was there for the challenge. Each thrust, each slam, each pounding. He could see it all from his seat and the more he watched the more jealous he grew.
He was a good boy, he could be that good boy as well. His mind filled in the blanks, putting him in that place. Scott could feel a tingling at his hole. His cock twitching and leaking even without attention, just like Stiles’ was.
“Hnnnggg.  Please… Daddy…” Scott started to repeat to himself. Using a hushed tone he leaned into the cushions and reached into his pants. Playing with his ass he started to finger himself. Listening and watching the two men he knew go at it right in front of him wishing that it was him.
Scott wanted that cock, he wanted to feel the man fucking him and using him just like he was using his best friend. The fact that it was his Dad only made the submission even better, made it more correct. He wanted to be ordered and who better than his father.
By now his pants were kicked off and his legs were in the air. His fingers fingering and pulling at his hole while he watched. Nothing had felt like this, the rush of adrenaline and pleasure were unreal. All from watching how his father was fucking his best friend like he was just nothing more than just an ass. A hole for the man to use.
Raf yelled and started to pump his hips in deeper grabbing at the drugged out Stiles, pulling at his head and putting his body over the smaller frame. “Time for Daddy’s load before you get some more fun.” He grinned at the back of Stiles’ head. With his hands on Stiles’ hips , the older man started to fuck into Stiles with the intent to breed him. Making sure there was no wasted time. His heavy full balls hit against the soft ass even as Raf came. Each one of Raf’s groans reminding Scott that he came from there, his best friend was going to be bred with the same cum that made him. Watching Raf fill Stiles’ with his cum should have disgusted him but he watched it for more. He wanted to see it leak from the hole as well.
But Scott wasn’t so lucky, instead Raf left the room and was replaced by a group of butlers coming in hard cocks first. Their uniforms were still on with only their pants undone each of them. They wasted no time in taking their places and shoving cocks all over the tied up teen.
Still Scott played with himself watching the new scene as he watched his best friend get ravaged by the group of men.
“You know, you should have paid a bit more attention Scotty. Because when you saw our faces, I got to see yours. Watch what you were doing as well.”
A voice called out to him from beside the couch. Looking up Scott was greeted to his father’s face. Unmasked and free now. Naked with a hard hot messy cock sticking out from his body. The same cock that he had been dreaming of.
“D--Dad!!” Scott tried to get up, with one hand at his ass and the other on his cock he scrambled.
Raf thought put an end to his son’s attempt of escaping. Hopping on the couch he straddled Scott’s chest and kept the True Alpha pinned down. “Don’t think so Son. Remember it’s Daddy.” He said grabbing Scott’s cheeks pushing them in together and opening Scott’s mouth. “I saw you watching us, fingering your dirty little pussy. You want to be Daddy’s little fag don’t you. Well who am I to deny such a willing slut..”
In one movement Raf grabbed Scott’s head and pushed it on to his cock. Sliding the cum covered cock into Scott’s mouth he pumped it into his son’s mouth. A son who was moaning and practically drooling around the cock.
“That’s a good boy, Daddy’s going to take good care of your slutty pussy.”
Scott groaned loudly as he felt his cock twitch with excitement, reaching down and grabbing the base of his hard length so that he wouldn’t cum.
“See, already a natural. You know you need Daddy’s permission to cum.”
Raf ran his hand through Scott’s hair, rubbing his head and praising him as he watched his son take his cock until his pubes were tickling his nose.
“Daddy’s going to make you such a good boy.”
MUN QUESTIONS.
Q1: IF YOU COULD WRITE YOUR CHARACTER YOUR WAY IN THEIR OWN MOVIE, WHAT WOULD IT BE CALLED, WHAT STYLE WOULD IT BE FILMED IN, AND WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?
•So, I'm already making a comic that I want to make as an animation for the story of FFXIV with my character and her friends. This character was specifically built for FFXIV, but it has a twist. Kinda like a Sword Art Online ordeal, but instead of Millions of people playing are stuck in the world, it's just like 100, but they aren't stuck, in fact they are just chosen to go between their world and Eorzea. If they die, they don't actually die, but respawn, even in their own world, but they feel how they die and the only way for them to die in any shape or form is by natural cause like old age or sickness. This would be a 2D animation in the anime style and be a multi episode series with multiple seasons. I even though about branching out to go certain routes so that Lyllyan can end up with all my favorite characters. I would call it Final Fantasy XIV: A World Reborn.
Q2: WHAT WOULD THEIR SOUNDTRACK/SCORE SOUND LIKE?
•With it being a Final Fantasy story, it would have Final Fantasy Music.
Q3: WHY DID YOU START WRITING THIS CHARACTER?
•Lyllyan Weiss was made to represent me and she still does, but also inspires me to be more like my courageous heroic self. Because of this, I have been able to do things like crossing a bridge that's in bad shape to get to the other side without the fear of falling, just to get back to my mom who went to the other side on a trip we had.
Q4: WHAT FIRST ATTRACTED YOU TO THIS CHARACTER?
•She is literally me.
Q5: DESCRIBE THE BIGGEST THING YOU DISLIKE ABOUT YOUR MUSE.
•Just like me, she is stubborn and hard working, but there are times she pushes herself way too much. She hesitates to ask for help, not because she doesn't trust the people around her, but more of trying to not burden them. Others wish she would open up to them and also rest when she can. Raha has to literally force her to rest, and she nearly gets herself killed against the first battle with Rahjit because she kept getting back up to fight even when the others beg her to stop.
Q6: WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN COMMON WITH YOUR MUSE?
•Almost everything. Major thing is that she doesn't look like me, but also I know when to quit.
Q7: HOW DOES YOUR MUSE FEEL ABOUT YOU?
• I feel like if Lyllyan and I were to meet in person, we'd get along just fine. We would play video games all day long if we could.
Q8: WHAT CHARACTERS DOES YOUR MUSE HAVE INTERESTING INTERACTIONS WITH?
•OH BOI HERE WE GOOO
- Leveilleur Twins: Alphinaud and Alisaie are very close to Lyllyan. Alphinaud used to pull Lyllyan out of class to have her hurry up and go through the story, now its chill and play ace attorney. Alphinaud, depending on what route is taken, is definitely in love with Lyllyan and is constantly teased about it by everyone. Alisaie is like a sister to Lyllyan. They have had many nights where the pulled 24 hours playing Sims. Alisaie is who Lyllyan tries to protect the most between the two. She's also the reason why Lyllyan is now Bi. Lyllyan absolutely adores her and if the route is taken, they end up being the cutest couple.
-Leon D'hart: An Alt character that I made that depending on the story and route, he is also Lyllyan's Lover. He is a character made by Square Enix to be the Warrior of Light replacement if Lyllyan did not succeed in preventing herself becoming a light warden. His story with her is a bunch of trial and tribulations, but in the end they do end up married.
-G'raha Tia/Crystal Exarch: The main story Lyllyan's Lover. Great friend to start out and tears were shed when he sealed himself into the tower. He really kept Lyllyan guessing when he was Exarch. When Emet-Selch kidnapped him, Lyllyan was hellbent on getting him back. Now she visits him at the first everyday bring stuff from Eorzea for him, and even occasionally stuff from her world. He is her world as she is to him.
-The Scions: Thancred and Lyllyan are like Big brother, Little sister. He protects her, and scolds her as such. They may act like they hate each other, but the moment either gets hurt, the other is at their sides. Though rumor has it that Thancred had feelings for Lyllyan. Y'shtola is close to Lyllyan, but is usually not around often. Shtola usually is often around to keep an eye on Lyllyan's aether since her amount is quite high compared to the others and her fellow Warriors of Light. Urianger is someone who used to hardly talk to Lyllyan, but started opening up more after the years. He had watched her grow from 15 moons to now 21 as the others, but they seem to be more special to him. Lyllyan swore to protect him if anything ever happened especially after he asked her her thoughts on his new attire. Tataru is a precious angel and if anyone was to hurt her, Lyllyan would kill everyone and then herself. Ryne, even though she is not a scion, she is a scion. Ryne worries about Lyllyan, but is often in awe of her. Lyllyan and Thancred adopted her, and she's ended up calling Lyllyan mom on many occasions.
-Ser Aymeric: Depending on the route, he would be Lyllyan's Lover and he tries to protect her when he can, be it politics or in war. He has a dream to journey with her, and though he can't do so with Lylyan Weiss the Au Ra, there is nothing saying he can't make a character and become a Warrior of Light himself and travel with Sakura Yue(Lyllyan's Alt).
-Zenos Yae Galvus: So this guy commits Seppuku and then shows up at Lyllyan's job as her new Bartender. They end up becoming friends through the job, and the fact that Zenos is bored out of his mind that he can't go kill people,but finding out later that he is back makes Square Enix themselves worried about this guy.
-Estinien: Lyllyan had adopted him as her Edgy Son. He hates it. He reminds her that he is older than him, and she retorts about beating him as a Lalafel. He usually starts brooding after that on a high building that usually takes Alphinaud and Ser Aymeric to get him down.
•I'm only stopping this cause there are so many more characters!!!
Q9:WHAT GIVES YOU INSPIRATION TO WRITE YOUR MUSE?
•Music and Playing Final Fantasy. Mainly XIV, but others do count too, but also reading all the other fanfiction and comics about final fantasy XIV.
Q10: HOW LONG DID THIS TAKE YOU TO COMPLETE?
About...4 hours? Maybe more? My hands definitely hurt from all the typing! XD
Homespork Act 1: The Note Dawdling Tension Plays (Part 3)
CHEL: John heads outside, finally, but finds the mailbox empty and the car locked with a package inside. It seems he’ll have to confront his father to get the game he seeks. And then, we get the internet equivalent of a splash page, with ominous wind chimes, slow-pan animation, and lyrical text.
You have a feeling it's going to be a long day.
Regarding the term “ominous”, it applies in ways Hussie intended, implying the strangeness to come, but also in ways he may not have. Notice anything absent from that animation? Go on, guess.
FAILURE ARTIST: John’s neighborhood is more bland than Privet Drive.
CHEL: True, but “character” wasn’t really what I meant. What would one expect to see at least one of, in a nice suburban neighbourhood, even a bland one, in the daytime, when we know John’s dad is home from work, even if through a window? What are we not seeing here?
FAILURE ARTIST: No people and not even any pets.
CHEL: Hot dog, we have a wiener. Not character, characters. There are no signs of life at all. Not even a wild bird. Now, John is the focal character here, so that might come under the heading of unnecessary detail, but considering what happens later, this becomes very creepy. The big dangerous thing has not happened yet, so there should still be people in the neighbourhood, and the sound of wind chimes implies at least one of those houses is inhabited. But we don’t see them. Come to think of it, John never mentions his school at all, nor any other friends apart from the other kids featured in the comic, and nor do they. It’s as if they literally sprang into existence on that day and got plopped down in place just in time to be in the comic.
FAILURE ARTIST: Given that John is home in the middle of what would be a school day I think he might be home-schooled.
CHEL: That didn’t occur to me. I’m a Brit and I guess I was thinking “Easter break”, but the school year pattern in the US is different. But that raises further questions. Doesn’t he know any local kids? His dad works full-time and he has no other family - when does his dad find the time?
FAILURE ARTIST: Maybe it would be Spring Break in Washington State. I don’t know.
CHEL: Regardless, it’s eerie. If he’s home-schooled, he still ought to have some local friends or at least be on wave-hello terms with neighbours, unless he really is stuck in his bedroom almost all the time. I’m tempted to add an ARE YOU TRYING TO BE FUNNY point for the implication that John’s been raised locked in a room, but that’s just silly speculation so I won’t.
While on the topic, John does live in a literal suburb, but I’m not going to give points for WHITE SBURB POSTMODERNISM here. That count is for when the characters’ behaviour comes across as white/suburban/wealthy and that contradicts how the author is trying to present them. John is supposed to be the everyman figure with an ordinary life, living in a regular respectable town.
Let’s move on. It’s time to confront the Parental Figure.
TIER: John finds himself heading to the kitchen to retrieve his game, and it's now that we get a good look at his dad, along with one of the neat little details about Homestuck's world being brought to the forefront.
I am of course, talking about STRIFE!
"[S] John: Enter and Strife!" (Watch on YouTube)
The more or less fighting system for lack of my vocabulary, and seemingly a thing you just do in this world.
CHEL: John gets to actually use his “hammerkind” weapon, and Dad’s preferred method of combat is offering yet more cake.
FAILURE ARTIST: John threatens his father with a hammer. In the real world, this would be horrifying. But it’s not in this video game world. The other Beta Kids have “STRIFE” with their parents and in only one case does it end up as being treated seriously. Yet that will wait to be seen.
CHEL: One case which is significantly less disturbing than one of the other cases, in some ways. But yes, that’s for later. To be fair, John could have been trying to hit the cake with the hammer, not his dad, but most parents still wouldn’t be pleased to have their kids waving hammers in their direction regardless.
ARE YOU TRYING TO BE FUNNY?: 2
TIER: After a short few rounds, John manages to properly distract his dad and successfully gets to his mail. A winner is you Johnny boy. Then we find ourselves with another hit of sylladex fuckery happening, joyous.
When we get back to John's room, it's pesterlog time, this time with a little sneak peak at the last of our fabulous foursome of thirteen years olds, gardenGnostic, or GG! They're only present for three short lines, but damn if they aren't pretty telling. From what little is seen they're an overall pretty chipper person, and to me at least adorable with those emojis.
CHEL: The beta’s finally in John’s hands, after all that effort to get it. So what do we do now? Why, it seems like a great time to go waste some time reading an entirely different imaginary webcomic promoting Hussie’s other work! Though, to be fair, the Midnight Crew will turn out to be relevant later. Keep that name in mind.
FAILURE ARTIST: The Midnight Crew actually started as the OCs of Problem Sleuth fan Mayonka who paid to have a extra episode.
CHEL: And then, FINALLY, he installs the thing, and it... gives us a loading page, and he goes off to read up on data structures and fuck about with his fucking sylladex some more!
TIER: The sylladex thing really knows how to wear its welcome thin with the shenanigans, thought I'll admit that John getting a razor embedded into the face of one of his posters was amusing in how dangerous the dang thing can be.
GET ON WITH IT!: 3
"Get on with it! (Monty Python)" (Watch on YouTube)
CHEL: Because I’m feeling bitter, I’m adding another point too!
HOW NOT TO WRITE A WEBCOMIC: 5 The Lost Sock - wherein the plot is too slight Here the main conflict is barely adequate to sustain a Partridge Family episode. Remember that this drama has to carry the reader through 300-odd pages. The central dilemma of a novel should be important enough to change someone’s life forever.
Our main plot hasn’t been introduced yet, so as far as the reader knows, what’s happening now is the plot. Getting a video game out of the kitchen should not take this long and is not much of an epic adventure! By now, Hussie’s committed almost all of the sins listed in HNTWAN’s section on beginning a story! NOTHING IS HAPPENING!
Okay, something happens. It’s not plot, but it’s adorable. John opens the birthday present from Dave, to discover a souvenir of his favourite movie; the very stuffed bunny prop featured in Con Air. Look at how happy he is!
Tumblr media
TIER: I do believe that up to this point, there hasn't been much of a plot, just people doing stuff. It's boring in the same way that someone telling you about an average day is, not much going on to be honest.
FAILURE ARTIST: I enjoyed reading Act 1 when I first read it but I was coming in under no expectation. Homestuck as a deep meaningful story hadn’t begun yet.
CHEL: Okay, NOW a thing is happening. The game is installed, on comes the loading page, and… Well, that’s peculiar. Now, at last, we see what the big deal with this game is. It permits TT, who installed the “server” section of the game while John installed the “client” section, to reach into his actual bedroom with the cursor and move things around, place bizarre-looking machinery in the rooms, or even add parts to his house a la The Sims. Now that’s a game worth the hype it got! Too bad it took almost 140 pages to actually reveal this.
The kids don’t seem very surprised by all this, yet the reviewer hadn’t heard the game could do that. One would think even such a disaffected dudebro would be curious about that, if he knew. Maybe the game really does have some kind of built-in failsafe to keep adults away?
FAILURE ARTIST: This is a world people have inventories instead of pockets and an RPG battle starts every time you argue with your parents.
CHEL: Does that apply to all people in it, though, or just the lead characters? They are, as it turns out, special already, and we never see a person who’s not involved.
John wants to try moving things around, but he needs the “server” CD-ROM to do so, which is still in the car. TT’s attempts to help result in not only a large machine called a “Cruxtruder” blocking the front door, but also the toilet, which John earlier accidentally filled with cake during sylladex shenanigans, being ripped out and dropped in the yard, and the bathtub similarly ending up in the hallway, which is pretty funny, I admit.
Tumblr media
EB: you can see me, right. EB: tell me what is wrong with this picture.
Perhaps sylladex shenanigans could be trimmed without being deleted entirely. SBurb shenanigans, similarly, are funny but might possibly do better to be compressed into fewer pages, but that’s not as big a deal, I think. The shenanigans aren’t entirely TT’s fault; she keeps losing her internet connection due to bad weather. GG’s earlier mention of an explosion near their home implies that things are starting to happen around them, too. Meantime, John finds a sledgehammer, a much better weapon, the implication being he’s going to need one, even if he turns out to be unable to lift it. TT helps him to hit the Cruxtruder with it, and said machine produces a glowing… thing and starts a four-minutes-and-thirteen-seconds countdown. Countdowns are never good in this context.
The glowing thing is a Kernelsprite, which needs to be “prototyped”, so into it goes the harlequin doll, causing it to take on the shape of a harlequin’s head and hand. Attempts to use the mysterious machinery TT has deployed result in the production of a shiny blue cylinder called a cruxite dowel and three green cubes labelled by the game as Perfectly Generic Objects, using up the game’s abstract building currency dubbed Build Grist. Wasting time playing with the machinery proves to be an unwise idea, however, as John looks into the sky and sees…
Tumblr media
Even worse than the meteor heading directly for his house, Dad is coming back!
FAILURE ARTIST: THIS is where I came in. It is the most impressive flash animation so far. It is still awkwardly animated compared to later ones.
CHEL: I think it’s one of his earlier efforts, so I wouldn’t say it was bad. It succintly gets the point across and it’s better animated than anything I could do.
John messages TT again.
EB: oh man who cares about the bathroom, now there's a meteor heading for my house!!! TT: I see. TT: Do you suppose it has anything to do with the game? EB: i don't know, maybe! what do i do! TT: I think it's very likely. TT: The walkthroughs vaguely suggest an impending threat before they end. TT: The already poorly constructed sentences become even more curt and ambiguous. TT: As if written hastily and with a sense of alarm. TT: Actually, their dedication to updating the walkthrough under such circumstances is admirable.
TT concludes that if the meteor is caused by the game, succeeding at a game objective must be the way to stop it, and investigates while John talks to TG, resulting in one of my favourite conversations in the comic, but also leading into another count.
EB: we'll talk later if i am still alive and the earth isn't blown up. TG: like the size of texas TG: or just rhode island TG: theyre always throwing around these geographical comparisons to give us a sense of scale like it really means anything to us TG: but its like it doesnt matter its always just like: WOW THATS PRETTY FUCKING BIG TG: like mr president theres a meteor coming sir. oh yeah, how big is it? its the size of texas sir TG: OH SHIT TG: or, how big is it? its the size of new york city sir TG: OH SHIT TG: sir im afraid the comet is the size of your moms dick TG: OH SNAP TG: sir are you familiar with jupiter TG: you mean like the planet? TG: yeah TG: well its that big sir TG: hmm that sounds pretty big TG: i have a question TG: is it jupiter? TG: yes sir, earth is literally under seige by planet fucking jupiter TG: OH SHIT TG: anyway later
I don’t know if TG is supposed to believe John here. If he is, then we get another count:
HURRY UP AND DO NOTHING: 1
FAILURE ARTIST: Hate to be a killjoy but the line about your mom’s dick is transphobic.
CHEL: My original intention with the PROBLEMATYKKS count was to point out cases where it wasn’t justified by the character saying it, so I wasn't going to count this. Thirteen-year-old boys trying to be witty say all sorts of awful bullshit. Though the writer’s old enough to know better and it didn’t ever get called out, so yeah, okay, I’ll expand the original intention.
CLOCKWORK PROBLEMATYKKS: 4
The rest of it’s still funny, though. Besides, I was more immediately concerned with the fact that TG seems remarkably unconcerned about the possible risk to his friend’s life. There isn’t really anything he could do about it even if he tried, obviously, but one would expect he’d at least say “oh shit, run!” or something. This will become a recurring pattern in the comic, as will be shown fairly soon, hence the DO NOTHING count.
FAILURE ARTIST: I think that conversation is also from real life. Hussie and a friend talked about meteor movie conventions and Hussie decided to use it. However, I assume during that conversation they weren’t threatened by an actual meteor.
CHEL: Possibly he’d have done better to make it clearer that TG did not believe John actually had a meteor heading for him. John is a known joker, after all. It would be quite easy, and I would have assumed that in a comic which had had fewer unremarked wacky happenings already.
Dad Egbert is also remarkably calm about the bathtub in the hallway. TT’s attempt to move it is foiled when her connection is lost, causing her to drop it in front of John’s bedroom door, trapping him inside. John is now on his own.
The best March 17th of my LIFE
My first ever day at Emerald City Comic Con
Scroll to the bottom if you’re only here for my CR cast (sadly incomplete) hug reviews.
So this year, 2019, was the year that I went to ECCC for the first time in my existence. And it was only for one day, but I have a ton of feels. What I’ve written here is incomplete, and just what I can remember, Sunday was a busy day!
I only started getting into Critical Role about a year ago because of posts I saw on this platform and wow, it was really cool. This was after my wonderful month in the hospital and my life-changing trip to Japan. It was mostly something I watched to pass the time, but I am an avid lover of storytelling and of dice collecting so... it stuck with me. Deciding to go to ECCC was kind of a spur of the moment thing that my Partner and I decided to do when looking through the guest list, because most of the CR cast was going to be there, so yeah! Just one day. Hotels are expensive and the 4 day passes were already sold out when we decided to go. And even though I am jobless and stressed and exhausted, it was worth every cent, every minute, and to me the day was everything.
I am a Canadian human, so we woke up hella early to drive to the convention. The plan was to get there, line up to see the vendors, then hurry our booty’s to our photo op, then chill until our autograph sessions and then hopefully check out vendors again before grabbing some dinner. I got to meet someone I befriended on a Fjorester Server (Dunno if I’m allowed to tag them so imma just nott), and they were so nice and cool and their cosplay was very very pretty! So many CR cosplayers let me take pictures with them, and if I’m honest my social energy had started to wear out, but I was having fun (even though I’d forgotten my Tal’dorei campaign book across the border, still kicking myself for that). Since I left behind what I’d wanted to get signed, the hunt was on for something that I loved enough to get autographed. Oh! and I ran into a rl friend of mine and got a couple good hugs so that made me happy and helped recharge my battery a bit.
And then it was Photo Op time.
I got the team up picture with my partner, because I just wanted to be around the group that created such a wonderful community for me to become a part of and even though my partner isn’t as hype as me they are very supportive and also a Sam Riegel fan.. Now I don’t know about the rest of you, but the longer I stand in a line the more anxious and nervous I get. So as the line of critters kept moving, I got more and more panicked. One of the people helping with the line stopped me to ask if I was alright, to tell me that it was going to be fine, and then it was our turn. The first thing out of my mouth was “MATT MERCER WILL YOU CURSE MY DICE?” while awkwardly holding out my Wildmount dice bag. The lines for photo ops always move so fast, and I wasn’t able to pre-order a mercer autograph session so I knew that would be my one opportunity to interact with him. And I felt SO DUMB. But they laughed, and it felt like I actually did something funny, and Marisha and Laura stood on either side of me and we got ready to pose, and I think Matt said “Wait, curse?!” and I was like “YEAH CURSE” because in my mind, cursing my dice would go one of two ways: 1, it would roll FANTASTIC and screw over my players, or 2, it would roll horribly and help my players succeed. Plus, I don’t think I could actually trust any of them to bless my dice. The drive down to Seattle was spent listening to a Vox Machina episode where there were so many natural 1′s.
After the photo was taken, I was exhausted. Didn’t help that I hadn’t eaten since the night before. Didn’t help that I hadn’t had a single sip of coffee. It’s possible that everyone has bad convention habits, but I’m kind of mad at myself for mine. Seriously Ren, you need to eat and stay hydrated!
We went to the Nintendo thing and I pet a couple of dogs that were helping out for at least twenty minutes. There’s just something about petting a dog when you’re anxious that makes all the stress melt away. Then we decided to grab some past 2PM lunch and surprisingly ran into my online friend again! we all ended up grabbing chipotles together, it was a good time (but sadly the last time I saw my online friend for the rest of the day. I’m glad we had goodbye hugs after we ate!). Then it was autograph time. Since I’m an awkward canadian human, I brought some flash cards with notes on them so I’d remember what I wanted to say to people. And since Ashley and Matt were impossible for me to talk to, I wrote a couple things to give to the others to give to them. First person we saw was Sam, which went relatively well. Got a hug, it was a good dad-like hug, if that makes sense. And then my awkward showed and I pulled out the card of things I wanted to tell Liam and said “Please give this to your husband!”
No lie, instant response: “Yeah, of course!” <-Or something of that variation.
Next was Travis. We spoke to him about his work on Ouran and I couldn't find the notes I’d written so I didn’t talk about Fjord, but I made 2 requests. The first was for him to give my note for Ashley to Brian, which he did AUTOMATICALLY. The second was for either a hug or a crisp high five. We both received the crispiest of fives. My partner said that he probably didn’t give me a hug because I’m short and he didn’t want to hurt his back. I MEAN I AM NOTT THAT SHORT TRAVIS IS JUST VERY VERY TALL.
After that we hopped into the Laura line and I chatted with some of the critters around me. Jester and Cad are my two favourite characters, but Laura Bailey is a human I actually needed to read off of my card for because I was so nervous to meet her. I gave her a recipe that I’d been working on for awhile tied with a pretty pink bow. “The Traveler’s Cinnamon Scones!” I’d named them, and one of these days I’ll be posting the recipe for everyone else to try if they want. We’d even brought a few scones and offered them, and she took them, and she gave me a great big warm hug and said in her Jester voice “The Traveler is with you my child” and when we lined up for Liam next, I sat on the ground and cried a little. I felt so bad, because with each of them that I met the more anxious I got and it made it harder and harder to talk to them. For Liam it was the hardest though, because I’d stupidly given his note to Sam. And he asked me for my name, and I broke because I didn’t think he would. And the only thing I could remember was how I loved him playing so many random NPC’s in Fallout New Vegas. My partner talked to him a bit more than me, but I told him that Sam was hopefully going to give him my note later because I just... couldn’t remember through the panic. Liam was the first to give me both a crisp high five and a hug.
Taliesin was next, and my awkward was showing. His hair is just as majestic in person as it is on camera. I told him about how Cad is like, the best big brother in my eyes and how he’s basically the M9′s big bro. He thanked me and told me that that was what he was going for. We both said we were tired and I told him to travel safely. Tal said that he was going to sleep on the plane and I was kind of just like “Lucky! I’m driving so I won’t get to sleep!” I don’t know if his laugh after was because of me or because of something else, but it was a nice laugh.
Last person I got to see was Marisha. Me and her con assistant (?) were talking about a character that the con assistant (?) was making/playing. It helped me calm down a bit before meeting Marisha. I told her a couple things that my friend had (probably jokingly) asked me to say. Like how they love Marisha and that they asked if they could be like Marisha when they were older. I mean, I already said that she could because both of them are awesome. And what Marisha said to me has stuck with me “You can be whoever you want to be.” But then I RUINED THE MOMENT by saying “Yeah! I mean, as long as you don’t steal someones identity!” I told her about how her lipstick is always spot on, I think I rambled for a few seconds about the Fjorjester chat I’m in because that’s where I always compliment her lipstick. I was able to tell her that I appreciate her existence and that I hope that she will continue to be a good role model! Then my partner made a fantastic observation. “I’m surprised you’re wearing sleeves.” Because, as we all know, sleeves are bullshit. But Marisha was so cool, probably literally because she said it was so cold in Seattle, then she pulled back the sleeve to show that she was wearing a sleeveless shirt underneath. The green fish CR shirt iirc! But I actually started crying in front of her, because it had been “a day” and the nice con assistant (?) gave me a tissue STAT and Marisha asked me for my name and hugged me and I told her about the scones.
I really, really hope they liked them.
She said she’d give Matt the note I’d written for him, and I hope that my notes made it because there’s a silly part of me that wants them to know how much they mean to me. It’s dumb, because they definitely hear it from fans all the time. They ask a lot of people for their names. Asking me for mine doesn’t mean anything. But I struggle with self worth a lot. I know that more often then Nott I’m going to be unnoticed. And there are so many wonderful people in the fandom, there were critters that spoke to me first and were understanding about my social anxiety. At least for that day, I felt like I mattered more than usual.
And it really helped.
___________________________________________________
Anyways, hug reviews. Let it be known that from my experience the hugs were all very much top notch!
Sam and Liam give very good dad-like hugs. Considering the running for president of DnD Beyond, however, I do have to say that Liam’s hug was slightly better. Is it the minor height difference? Varying exhaustion levels? Well, it also helped that Liam gave me a crisp high five.
Taliesin’s hug is tied with Liam, as I found his hug a bit more comforting. Definitely some Cad energy up in that hug. And his hair is very nice.
Laura and Marisha were probably my favourite hugs. Marisha hugged me over a table, which made it a bit harder to gauge but there was female strength!!!! Bonus points are given because she had to see me completely crack from the long day of actually being around people. But man, Laura’s hug was so good. Jester voice, the nicest reactions to my stupid gifts, warmth! Kindness! However I am biased, I feel a lot more comfortable hugging females than I do males, even if I am the one requesting the hug.
Really though 10/10 for all of them minus the ones I did not hug. But Travis DID give a very crisp high five. And Matt cursed my dice!
Oh, and if anyone was wondering, we ended up getting them to sign the picture of us together.
Tumblr media
It was a really, really great day.
Fanfic Author Asks
Tagged by @bereft-of-frogs!
I... have a really hard time being positive about my own writing, but I tried OTL
Author Name: I’m KiwiMeringue pretty much everywhere! I might change it to this one sometime? But I’ve changed it before and I don’t want to keep like, switching all the time OTL I should probably just have called it like KiwiWrites or something, but the thing about this username is I just thought it was cute and unintentionally led a bunch of people to assume I was from New Zealand which is patently false advertising and very disappointing when it turns out I’m Canadian xD;
Fandoms you Write for: I’ve got stories published for the MCU, and Naruto!  Uhhh I’m blanking on things I’m famiiliar enough with to write for but there are a bunch? Critical role, the adventure zone, Good omens, netflix she-ra., maybe? Homestuck, but more @mr-alice and I’s fantrolls and kids, who still have a huge place in my heart, more than canon.
Where you post: I’m kiwimeringue on AO3 and FF.net, and then any like small prompt fills I’d probably leave here,
Most Popular One-shot: Hands down, it’s Therapy Dog.  In which a young Hatake Kakashi deals with grief, survivor’s guilt, or PTSD by acquiring an irresponsible number of dogs. (Disclaimer: this does not work irl if you’re not a magic dog whisperer with a large property out of town)
Favourite Story You Wrote:  This is as far as I got and this has been sitting in my drafts for days because I really, really struggle with this. I have a hard time being proud of anything I write. I guess it’s Therapy dog, becuase it’s definitely the one that’s resonated best with people, and probably my best example of “Look, I wrote a fanfic!” without having to qualify it with a bunch of asterisks.
I have given myself a self-imposed deadline of from October 1st to halloween to finish a prompt that I got from @portraitoftheoddity in her discord server, (it’s not SUPER spooky, but it’s tenuously thematically appropriate enough that I’m making it my project for the month xD) if I can pull this off, it will be this one. It should be fun.
Story You Were Nervous to Post: ALL OF THEM. Time I had some Time Alone (TIHSTA) is like a self-indulgent au of a self indulgent au, and I;m amazed anyone enjoyed it xD It got more of a response that Undying Fidelity (UF), the fic from which is is derived, did, for a while, which surprised me. I sort of what to qualify that I started this before I found the incredible corner of the MCU writer’s fandom that I currently frequent, so uh... this is very much Disney Grandmaster. This is Jeff Goldblum in space. Which is what I’m comfortable writing, but feels really pale and inconsequential in contrast to the horrifically vivid and rich dark carnival of twisted Grandmaster fan content that exists, like welcome to fucking weenie hut Jr’s, population: me.
How Do You Pick Your Titles: With great difficulty and much waffling! Kintsugi is named for thematic relevance that... I haven’t actually gotten to yet but it’s about to become stupid literal anyone who read version 1.0 knows how I mean this. But the idea of things history, and damage being inextricably linked to them, but that the thing can go on anyway, changed but not ruined, there’s recurring imagery and points of fault lines, places where things have been weakened, but that these are important and necessary.
I don’t feel like I have to explain Therapy Dog xD it’s about coping with grief... with dogs.
Undying Fidelity is like, painfully obvious, but it’s what I had started calling it, and it just. stuck. Obviously from Loki’s like... second last line in IW, and Sigyn’s title in the Marvel Comics. I’m kind of wishing I’d chosen something else, because there are definitely other fics with the same title, and it’s the name of a song from the IW soundtrack that is... less than fun. For obvious reason. I mean it’s perfect for what it was used for, but it’s not a “ahhh gonna pop this one on for a listen” kind of piece. I still can’t think of anything better, though we’re kind of in a weird place because I don’t quite have all the cards on the table, yet. On Loki’s end though,I’m hoping that I’ve sufficiently established this like... tenuous vestigial little flicker of affection that he’s been able to more or less ignore, but that simply would not go out, despite how much easier that would have been, that’s been given a little room to breathe now. (I could definitely go on trying to justify this for paragraphs, so I’ll stop now xD). Thematic chapter naming is another thing I love to inflict on myself and I always regret it, though I love it so much when other people do it, ahhh. UF’s chapters are all named after cards of the Major Arcana in the Tarot. I’m going to get to one eventually and you’re all going to see why I did this, and you’re all going to hate me and I deserve it xD
Time I Had Some Time Alone is the thing that’s repeated at the end of REM’s :”It’s the end of the world as we know it” and does sort of describe our reluctant hero’s state at the beginning xD Thriving in his completely self centered backstabbing Littlefinger party hellscape. (I went off on a huge tangent here that I have removed, I may make it its own post). Anyway, more thematic chapter naming, everything’s based on some apocalyptic or post-apocalyptic story. So 21 Days later (since for Loki it felt like three weeks) instead of 28, and chapter two is now titled “beyond thunderdome” because of course it is. (it was “the man come around” for like, THE ARRIVAL OF DEATH  but that uh... that’s going to be a later chapter now).
Fic-in-planning stages will be called some variant of “Again, from the Top”? Take it from the top? ugh I’m trying to evoke like... redoing a scene.
There was also Errant, my NaNoWriMo story from like 2012 or something? xD It was about a bunch of idiots that were basically an RPG party in a shitty High fantasy bullshit setting. So like, as in, “a knight errant” wandering in search of adventure, but also in the sense of like like... they’re a bunch of dumbasses making mistakes.
Do you Outline: Yes! I definitely need to be more organized about it because my outlines are like these stupid irreverent event sequences that involve me remembering nuance way too well. Like for Kintsugi especially I’m scared I’ll have forgotten important minutia that I didn’t bother including becauyse oh pfft, of course I’ll remember that. And then I ...dont. My initial outlines for UF were an excel spreadsheet with scenes in various tiem periods that I dragged and dropped all over the place xD It was SUPPOSED to be thematically relevant paired scenes, with one part of each chapter being zset in the past and one half on the statesman and it just... did not work out that way.
How Many of Your Stories are complete: One! And it’s the one-shot! FML!
In-Progress:  Undying Fidelity: Currently working on chapter 10 out of 22 TIHSTA: 2 out of... probably 4+ epilogue? Kintsugi: 13/Mayyybe like 30 something?
Coming Soon: From the Top is in its planning stages~!
Do You Accept Prompts: Absolutely! I can’t guarantee that a prompt is going to like... spark writing? in me? But I’m always open to the idea. And that doesn’t mean that an idea is bad or anything! Just like, can I, personally, take this idea and run with it somewhere.
Upcoming Story You’re the Most Excited For: Probably from the top, though I am two chapters out from part of of UF I am reeeeeally looking forward to writing :D
Tag Five Fanfic Authors to Answer These Questions: I don’t know who’s been tagged already, I’m so bad at this, so uhh~ If you have been already, or if you just don’t feel like it, please disregard this! And if I don’t tag you but you feel like it, go for it!  @teleris-night @malicemanaged @cosmicmewtwo @not-so-terrible and @ramblingredrose
How do you start a fanventure?
Tumblr media
There’s obviously a lot of answers to this question, and everyone will give you a different one, but here’s my take on it!
I believe there’s three things to starting and keeping a fanventure alive (especially at the start) and they are:
1. Do stuff that YOU enjoy!2. Quantity over quality, don’t stress out too much on making each panel perfect!3. Simplicity is key
A bunch of other stuff that’s just as important is:
Plot wise, the nice thing abt fanventures is that you can literally bullshit the ENTIRE THING ala hussie and most of his works and that’s perfectly fine! I personally recommend having a vague idea for a plot/twist (for example when i did wq i wanted to have a comic writer, make it a romance, like 3 fantrolls to fit in, and already had one of the big later twists thought out.... but not much else!) everything else can literally be made up either on the spot or as you move forward. Audience participation can be helpful if you ever feel stuck but i’d recommend not Entirely relying on it since you can get stuck/update too slowly if you do.
Ofc different people will work differently and I’d say don’t get too stressed about doing things the “correct” way. If you hate script writing? Don’t write one and just make it up after you make the panels! hate thumbnails? Just make it up as you go! Really really like dialogue but arent a fan of drawing? Maybe make it based around the dialogue primarily! the point is don’t feel like you have to reach industry standards if you’re doing something for fun. the more you find yourself being comfortable with your way of working the more Official stuff you can incorporate (eg; scripts, get someone to proof read, thumbnails, etc..) but just do it your way to begin with!
To come back to the original three points: don’t feel like you HAVE to follow the sburb formula, just do your own thing if you want to! and honestly the simplicity and quantity is mostly a result of me having trained to be an animator all my life but you find a lot of fanventures drop bc ppl get too bogged down on every panel. i purrsonally made wq have a Very simple style and almost entirely flat colors (after a lot of trial and error! You can see the experimentation in the first like 10 pages) so i dont have to deal with it later. I also didn’t use sketches for the first 300ish pages and did it all on one layer to save time. etc etc etc...!
That’s a lot but honestly if you still want some help or more insight on Writing Quadrants Stories, join the official wq/dg server! we (me, damaged goods’ author, and a LOT of other mspfa authors we’re rlly lucky to have!!) talk abt this stuff a lot over there and are happy to lend some insight if u need it!
Seeds of thought : DIE #1
Been a while, uh ? I missed you too. But before we start, we have to adress the horrible, no-good, terribly misguided elephant in the room : I am currently working on solutions to keep posting my work outside of tumblr before it pulls the carpet from under us, but nothing concrete yet. As soon as I have my new internet home, I’ll let you know. In the meantime, I’ll keep posting here. If all else fails, I’ll migrate on the Wicdiv Discord server. I’m Pom there too.
Alright ?
Alright.
Let’s do this.
IS THIS THE REAL LIFE ? IS THIS JUST FANTASY ?
 Metaphors are like elections : the quickest way to ruin one is to call it early.
Even now as I’m doing this write-up, I am kind of hesitant : do I actually want to pick apart this debut, or do I want to let the rest of the comic do it for me ? There has to be some equivalent of a love bubble for art, this fleeting period before you get one of those “oh… that’s where they’re going with this” moments, before potentiality unravels into concreteness, before, like in the garden of Destiny, you look behind you and only see one path leading to where you are despite seeing so many crossroads ahead.
That’s why, paradoxically, beginnings are also the most liberating moment to write about stories, because there is a round 100% chance that you will get it wrong. The further the story goes, the least margin of error you have, and you find yourself in a situation where you HAVE to get it right, because you actually have a chance to get it right. But now ? I do not know what DIE wants to say. Not yet. If I did, there would be no point for me in reading it, and if we all did, there would be no point for them to write it. Of course, even on first read, I feel like I might know what the master word is – just like wicdiv’s was “Death”, DIE’s is “Time”, which is nothing else than the slowest sort of death – but this master word is, at best, a key without a lock. The door is further down the path.
 So let’s talk about DIE – not to decrypt it, not to crack it open, not to judge it even, but maybe simply to enjoy it.
 The first thing DIE is, is a voice. It emerges from the intricately painted pages in its concrete boxes of black circled with red, in a way that you almost resent it from breaking the perfection of the page, what with its eye-grabbing crude colours. Unsurprisingly, given Cowles’ always excellent work, the content of the text soon comes to match perfectly this first impression. Dominic, our narrator, is dark, jaded, and he knows how to grab his audience. But on the other hand, he’s never being all that smart and elaborate. He’s a big box of black. Even his own hindsight, the way he looks at his younger self with this mixture of indulgence and pity, is nothing that original or ground-breaking : it’s basically the way any adult might look at their own self-important teenage persona. And of course, nothing about that persona is really gone : Dominic, as an adult narrator, is still the self-important, quiet kid with just enough self-hate to balance out feeling better than everyone else half the time.
In fact, every main character in this first issue is the sketch of their own teenage stereotype, whose attributes are listed out by Dominic on our introduction page. There’s a transparent parallel between that page and the spread a couple pages later where each character introduces their game persona. Dominic’s description is just as much of a character sheet as the ones they hand out to Sol. And by way of that parallel, there’s of course the one between the cast’s game personas and their real life personas : the character they are playing, half-consciously, half-unconsciously, just enough to believe it, just enough to call it their identity. This was already a theme in Wicdiv, and it’s not surprise it shows up again here. Between the characters’ former selves, their current adult selves, and their RPG avatar, DIE sets up a game of mirrors, almost daring us to find the real Dominic – or is it Ash ? – the real Angela, the real Isabelle.
Does fantasy escapism allow you to be someone else, or does it do the opposite, and brings you closer to yourself than you’ll ever be in real life ? That’s a question asked by the text, but also by the art. Now there’s nothing I could say that wouldn’t undersell just how gorgeous Hans’ art is, but for all its merits, it’s actually its one limitation that hit me the hardest : its inability to evoke the mundane. The issue is pretty clearly divided between a flashback portion in sepia hues, the real present in bleak red, blue and black, and the fantasy world with its warm tones. The first two parts are designed to come in contrast with the third one, but for all the supposed triviality of those scenes compared to the fantasy world, nothing in the way those parts are designed resonate as ordinary. Everything is bathed in light in such a way that everything always seems to be moving, from the complex hues of the evening skies, to the shadows on the characters’ faces. The smiles are big and toothy, the eyes are either glimmering or deep and sunken. At every moment, everything in the art works to indicates that something is happening, something big. Hans’ art is out of this world, in a very literal sense : it is somehow unfit to depict our reality. And so when we finally move to the fantasy world, it’s as if pieces finally fall to their righteous place and the world is finally set right side up. Everything about the way DIE depicts our reality feels deeply unreal. And because meta is never far when Gillen is writing, this probably says something about the way we think of comic books, and all escapist media.
The entire issue is building up to that fall back into the fantasy world – to the point that I thought they’d make us stew even longer for it – but we’re not the only ones intently waiting for something that, from the very beginning of the comic, is ineluctable : the characters, too, were waiting. They were waiting surrounded by characters who feel like NPC – we never even see the full face of Dominic’s wife – waiting while marrying women who look like their high school boner and having jobs serving as constant reminders of their past. They were waiting to the point that the first sign they get of the fantasy world of their youth, they immediately all show up to the reunion, and play around something they should know damn well is going to drag them back to it.
That’s not to say any of them “wants” to go back, per se ; such is the nature of trauma, that you want to get away from it as it prevents you from totally moving on either. DIE’s characters are stuck in that in-between, as if none of them had ever really left the fantasy world – and by extension, their teenage years.
This is also why I’ve been uneasy with the reviews of DIE out there linking its storyline to “nostalgia” ; for something to be about nostalgia, that thing has to, you know, be over. But none of the characters is even close to being done playing the game they were playing in their youth. And that for the fantasy murder game as well as for the game they played in reality, the game everyone plays. As teenagers, they push each other around about elitist fantasy books. As adults, they pretend not to know what “woke” means. The codes switch, but the game is still the same. Maturity can be a persona, too. They lie. They deflect. They follow their character sheet. And that’s fantasy for grown-ups.
 That’s not to say that these characters aren’t genuine – as I’ve said, it might be precisely because they’re constantly playing that we can get a better picture of who they are – or that we can’t connect with them. In fact, one of the many feats of this first issue is how immediately touching each of these characters is, both in their efforts toward pretend and genuineness. Well, with the one exception of the character who both seems the most dedicated to the game and the only one who doesn’t seem to be playing at all. Even as a teenager at the beginning of the story, Solomon is that one kid who seems uncomfortably comfortable in his role as the star his friends revolve around, vying for his attention. When he drags his former friends back into the game, is he looking for revenge, or has his world simply become boring without the rest of his party to move the story along ? This is where I should mention that the tabletop RPG hobby is one that is completely foreign to me – it’s just not my scene. And I think part of the reason why is that I’m too fundamentally selfish in that regard to share my imagination with other people. Playing RPGs implies losing part of your control over your own stories. Again, I have no idea how RPGs are supposed to work, but being both the gamemaster and a player strikes me as a fundamentally selfish move ; the move of someone who expects his friends to play their part perfectly, only giving them the illusion of control. For a RPG-themed fantasy, quite a fitting portending villain.
If I can be honest : I hope he’s our villain. I hope there isn’t some dark lore that’s manipulated all of them, and that it’s really just the story of how some teenage bullshit got gloriously out of hand. DIE’s premise is a simple one, just like Wicdiv’s premise was a simple one. But two hundred and a half plot twists later, it can be hard to remember just how fucking awful people can be to each other even when they’re not under the influence of some millennia-old force working in the shadows. I hope we never learn where the dice come from. I hope we never get an entire arc explaining how the fantasy world came to be. I hope it remains just as inexplicable as real life is, with its posture, its pretending, its own unreality, its game you can never, ever stop playing.
 And that’s DIE so far. I loved it. How does it compare to the first time I’ve read Wicdiv ? Beats me. The first time I’ve read Wicdiv, I majorly skimmed through it thinking it wasn’t for me – just like comics weren’t for me in general - until maybe issue #11, when I finally slowed down and started again from the beginning. First impressions. I was wrong about Wicdiv, many times, and there is definitely ways in which I am and will be deeply wrong about DIE. And I like that. So join me, if you will, in future write-ups of DIE, where we can be wrong, be surprised, be amazed, be disappointed also, and have ourselves a party.
Switching to Blogs
Hey guys.  I'm gonna explain myself to the best of my ability.
For the past few days, I've been considering switching to writing blogs on this Tumblr for the opinion pieces I write (like the "Flawed vs. Unlikeable Characters" and "It's My Style" videos).
I... frankly don't remember what I've already told you, but I think I've made it clear that I suffer from motivation and focus issues.  Besides this, I have a bunch of other reasons why making videos is really difficult for me.
• I'm almost always distracted or busy with something besides videos already. • It takes more effort than I'm willing to expel in order to set up my mic and pop filter at a table, because I don't have a desk to leave it set up at. • I'm also kidding myself if I say that I would automatically become more active if I did have a desk. • Partially because I still have stage fright and I'm almost never home alone. • I am unable to work on multiple things at once, and when I try to, nothing gets finished. • I don't like the sound of my voice in recordings, or how unnatural I sound when reading from a script.  And I get way too nervous and confused when I try to speak naturally.  But my strongest words come from my script.  I'm a typer. • I hate that I can't tell my audience something as basic as "I made a Discord server" without having to make a video about it, or 70% of them won't know (which wouldn't be a big deal if making videos wasn't so hard for me). • I hate that even when I finish a script, I can't share those thoughts yet because I haven't recorded it, and even when I get a recording done, I can't post it yet because I have to draw something for it, and edit it together, etc.  There's a lot of steps to making YouTube videos, and I get impatient or lazy or tired or whatever. • And I'm not... that is, I don't feel good at it.  I mean, I know you guys like my videos, and I'm so grateful, but I'm not satisfied with how I deliver my lines, my editing, sometimes my art. • Basically this video wouldn't have come out for god knows how long if I hadn't just slapped some music and text on it and gave you this link instead.
So, with all that explained away, I've decided to start running a "The Angry Librarian" Blog.  I'm using this one I already have on Tumblr, and here is my reason for that: I was going to use Wordpress, and try to be a little more professional, but this is still a HOBBY, so I'm not paying for a domain, which means I'm stuck with the free themes with very limited control.  Tumblr has tons and TONS of free user-made themes that leave me with 100% control over the HTML and CSS (seriously, I couldn't even change the border colors on some of those free Wordpress themes).
I know Tumblr has a bad rep, and I can't deny that some of it is earned.  But it's the most accessible, gives me total control, and you don't need to be a member of Tumblr to read my posts unless they're nsfw, which mine shouldn't be.  It's also not any worse than the reading YouTube comments (though I'm not saying it's any better), but you don't have to read the comments.  So if you still want to know my thorough opinions on various media and writing things, you'll have to visit my Tumblr blog.
SO!
What does this mean for my YouTube channel?  Basically, I will still use it for whatever strikes my fancy at the time, be it AMVs, speedpaints, or even more vlogs if I do feel like making them.  I'm not deleting anything, I'm not just abandoning YouTube.   But I've always been strongest in text.  I used to post rants on my old accounts that people liked.  I type paragraphs of passionate opinions, rants, or analysis all the time!  So imagine how much more content I can get out if I only need words.
I hope you understand, and I hope you will still stick around for my blogs, or even just my speedpaints and AMVs.
Oh, and that's the other thing I want to talk about.  I think it needs to be said, just so we have an understanding.
After I posted my recent speedpaint, I just got more discouraged about the whole YouTube thing.  I'm glad people want to hear my voice and opinions on things, but my art is my voice, my thoughts, my feelings.  Whether you ship the same characters or love the same shows I do, that's where my passion often is.  Media.  My comic.  My fan art.  Enjoying other people's fan art, whether for me or stuff I love.  And honestly, it takes a LOT for me to draw fan art these days.  If I draw fan art, that means I have a LOT of feelings about what I'm drawing.  So when you check your feed and get disappointed because I posted a speedpaint instead of a vlog, I understand; but you need to understand that I'm still expressing myself, and it's still important to me.
Anyway.  I really appreciate those of you who have been endlessly patient with all my "I'll do it soon...!"s and who support me doing what I like, even if it's just mediocre AMVs or bad quality speedpaints lol.
And lastly, if you would like to hear my voice a little more, I do get in casual calls with the people in my Discord Server.  Maybe we can play Cards Against Humanity next time haha.
