I hate how I have a long fic planned for every fandom I'm in, and yet because I am me, my hyperfixations do not last long enough nor are they strong enough for me to actually plan and start/finish writing them

Merthur people saying horrible things about "weebs"/"children's cartoons" and being BUTTHURT about losing instead of respecting the name. And sns people talking shit about merlin as if they've also never fucking heard of arthurian legend. PLEASE.

And I'm over here, with sasunaru as my "baby's first slash fic" and beloved manga--that found me an online and real life community, that has some of the most amazing epic fanworks and which fandom i actually actively participated in all over LJ; and merlin, as a topic I'd already been obsessed with reading about through my childhood, that then got a cheesy af tv show that my flist's obsession with "walk on your knees" got me to start watching weekly during s3, a cheesy show which i loved --even though it betrayed my trust about magic being restored to the land-- because I loved those boys, and those girls too. Whose fanfiction brought me to Sam and Dean out of sheer luck.

Idk why the merthur people have to look down on sns people for what we like, or call it childish or ugly. Just because it's a drawing doesn't make their star crossed child soldier story any less compelling! FFS, have you seen Bradley and Colin in merlin? I'm sorry but pot and kettle, here.

I wish the sns people weren't laughing about boring british twinks cuz it's the same stupid belittling that the merthurs are doing. Arthurian legend is about more than what they look like.

I'm currently stuck between like four (technically six????) of the weirdest fandoms ever. On one hand, you have Danny Phantom and the DC/Batman which has also melted into the beautiful DPxDC mishmash fandom. On the other, there's Warrior Cats and The Legend of Zelda - which ALSO has the Linked Universe attached to it.

My dash has never been so confusing to scroll through.

A genuine problem I have in my life is that many of my mutuals are BSD fans which isn't the problem I love y'all but when I see a post talking about the character Oda which usually starts off talking about the tragedy of it all it takes me a few lines everytime to go "Oh! They are NOT talking about the author of One Piece ok that would have really been off the rails."

Not people on twitter getting mad at the term 'multifandom'.... Actually going to delete this app I'm so sick of people 😭

It's so so so obvious that some people have only been interacting in fandom spaces for like 2-5 years MAX because how are you mad at one of the most commonly used phrases used in the entire fandom atmosphere.

If you didn't know:

The term "multifandom" does just come from liking more than one piece of media. It dates back (I think) to the early parts of internet fandom spaces, like Tumblr, where most pages would be specifically dedicated to one fandom or piece of media, so blogs/pages that would post multiple fandoms starting suing the phrases "multimedia" or "multifandom"

They really weren't lying when they said that twitter runs 5 years behind Tumblr......
