Falling down this rabbit hole of falling for a narcissist man who doesn’t second guess the discard of myself.

Have you ever loved two people at the same time that live in the same body ? That’s been my life for the past 3 years. One moment in the summer of 18 I was 29 living life as some normal girl trying to find her feeting in my career , be a good mother and falling in love with a man I seen forever wiry , my best friend , someone who brought me back to high school love as we spend countless hours on the phone together and fall in love over jokes, stories , things about myself I never thought I would share. Falling so in love so fast I gave this man my world , my body and soul never looking back or thinking that he would dare crush my world or break my soul.

Here I am now , about to turn 32. Discarded for the millionth time and wondering how I am still on my two feet. These last years have taken years off of my life and yet I cannot seem to let this man go, I can only ask myself the same thing so many people ask me: Why do you stay in such a toxic relationship and let this man break you down until you hate yourself.

1. I was in denial

2. I thought I could better protect my kids if I remained in the relationship

3. I was physically and relationally isolated from friends, family, and all emergency services

4. Fear. Threats of violence against myself and the children were a-plenty and I wasn’t ready to fuck around and find out if this was the time that they’d be followed through on.

5. Gaslighting. Coming out of this relationship was like rising for air after having been underwater for a very long time thanks to 13 1/2 years of cruel mind-fuckery.
