COMMISSION PROCESS
Payment can be made through PayPal. That way it is safer for both of us.
I will need to receive half of the payment for acceptance to finalize the deal. After that, I will start on the piece.
I will send you my initial sketches of the piece so that you may be able to tell me what to change and what you are not happy with. When you are happy with the sketch, I will continue onto the final stages.
TERMS OF SERVICE AND AGREEMENT OF COMMISSION
By commissioning me you are agreeing to the following terms of service.
The time it will take to complete a piece will vary.
The commissioner (you) will receive a rough sketch of the requested piece that the commissioner approves of.
Once the commissioner gives the final approval on the last stages of commission, changes or adjustments will no longer be made o the piece.
If the commissioner (you) wishes to cancel your commission during the sketching stages, the commissioner (you) will be refunded the acceptance payment 100%. That is ONLY for the rough sketch. Beyond the rough sketching, I cannot refund due to the materials I used.
The artist has the right to decline a commission, retains the right to display all watermarked commissioned art once work is completed.
The commissioner (you) may not profit from the artwork in the form of resale of prints or digital files or being non credited.
The reason why the price is higher is because I am using all three types of Copic Markers (Copic Classic, Copic Sketch, and Copic Ciao). I am also using Premium color pencils, and RENDR paper.
Please do not Bargain the price since those materials cost me a lot. (ಥ﹏ಥ)
By sending payment, you, the commissioner, are agreeing that you understand and agree to the above terms of service.

hi, i love your latest druck piece. i don't watch any of the remakes but i love og skam so a lot of the blogs I follow reblog/post about them. anyway, could you tell me what pens you used for coloring that piece? I've been wanting to try out a similar style but i always feel overwhelmed by the pens and their prices. thanks!
hey! thank you so much, i appreciate it lots ❤️❤️
oh man i can totally understand being overwhelmed by art supplies. i’ve been needing to buy oil paints for over a year and i still haven’t done it hahah. when i bought the markers i used in this piece i had to stare at prices for several months before actually buying them :’)
so for that piece i used copic pens to ink it and then copic markers to color!
the copic pens are so the copic markers don’t smudge it, but from my experience, micron pens work exactly the same, because both just need a time to dry and sink into the paper.
for the markers, they’re really popular but also ridiculously expensive 😬 but i would say they’re worth it! if you plan on using them for a long time, they’re easily refillable and the refills come in fairly big amounts. i specifically use copic ciao markers from the 72 Set A, which are cheaper than copic sketch markers (i think they’re just bigger).
right now they seem to be selling for a little less than $200 for 72 copic ciaos, which is way less than what i paid for a few years ago. for reference, i think i paid around $220.
good luck!! ❤️ if you ever need any more info or anything feel free to ask :)

Hey! So this is kind of an odd post, but I feel a needed one. Since it’s inktober and people might be looking for new supplies!
Today I’ll be talking about Artist Loft alcohol brush tip markers!
My first reaction to seeing them in Michaels was excitement. I was extremely excited to see Michaels budget option to the copic! So I bought a set, and did some swatching.
They are 4$ a piece, and about 75$ for a 22 marker set.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They have a triangular barrel, and their lids fit onto the other end of the marker. They have both a chisel nib and a brush nib.
Sadly, after only a few drawings I noticed some of the brush bibs were starting to deteriorate. Some of the ones that completely shredded were only used once!
Tumblr media
I have multiple markers that look like this, after only one use. Some held up, the greys seem to have particularly strong nibs.
In conclusion, I’d suggest going with the Copic Ciao markets over these, they’re about 2$ more but worth it. I’ve had a set of Copic Ciaos that have lasted me six years.

Hope you don't mind: There are some cheaper alternatives to copics (like Touchnew) which are also nice if you want to try out alcohol markers. Brushnibs are really good for blending but markers with brushnibs tend to be more expensive. Depends on the art you want to make but if you don't need perfect blending, a normal fine nib will save you some money: copic originals, promarkers or some cheaper imitations. Hope this is helpful!
thank you so much!!!! i looked at a comparison of copic ciao / copic sketch / copic original, and while it didn’t give me concrete numbers for their prices (bleh!) i think i’ll probably end up going with the copic sketch!!! but thank you for your advice

ARTEZA REVIEW ENG/ITA✨ (in italiano nei commenti) Hi friends ✨ today I'm gonna give you my honest opinion on these everblend markers @artezaofficial sent me to test (I will talk about the fineliners in a separate post ✨ ig doesn't allow too much writing so I decided to review them individually ❤) I tried only copic ciao before and I have to say I'm pretty much a beginner with this medium. First of all, I loved the little case they came with, very easy to carry around (if you like to sketch outside!) and generally their stuff is designed to be kind of portable so yay ✨. The barrel is triangular, I personally like this shape and it's very comfortable, but the color of the marker is only on the top of the two caps (they have a thin and a large nib) and a little stripe on the barrel, it makes them look all the same if you don't keep them in the case, and since the ink dries fast you may need to have some of them ready on the table. The color range is great for beginners, there are a lot of greys, but mostly midtones. I would love to buy a pale set in future if they will produce it! (I know there are also a 120 set, a skintones set and a greytones one). Speaking of sets, you can buy the colors individually, but in sets of 4 of the same color and that's a bit too much in my opinion, I would rather buy a bundle of 4-5 different colors instead! The quality of the colors is great, bright and pigmented as usual. I also noticed the thinner nib is hard (copic ciao has a soft nib) it may be good or not, the mark is more precise but it's a tiny bit more difficult to blend. But since they blend really really well it's not a big deal to me, I even prefer it that way. The price is competitive as always, each marker cost around 1.16€, a third of their most famous cousins! And that's it! Thank you so much arteza to let me have this great opportunity!! . . . #arteza #artezamarkers #everblend #review #artreview #traditionalart #inktober #inktober2019 #artsupplies #artoftheday #dailyart #artwork #illustration #botanical #artistsofinstagram #artistofig #instaartist #instaart #chestnuts #artist #art #artdaily #markers https://www.instagram.com/p/B3mMN5XiWAU/?igshid=ohmvr8sasbqm

Brush Pen Guide
A brush pen is the right multitool for lettering and also colorations on graphics. The brush collection of a designer is always growing. Especially the one of Julia from Farbcafe.de (color coffee) who added one after another over the years. Today we like to present her Brush pen guide and the difference between those 6 pens.
What is a brush pen?
A brush pen is a pen with a nib formed to a brush as the name says. It is mostly made of sleaze fiber or hairs,  like the sleaze in sleaze pens. Important to know is that the nib is very flexible for drawing thin and thick lines, without breaking the brush.
What is the nib?
A nib is the top of the pen, also the top of an ink pen or brush. Often the instruments to do calligraphy with are called nibs.
The 6 different brush pens
The surface or paper influences the lettering most. It shows which techniques you have and which pen is the right one to use. The choice is quite big but here are the best 6 brush ens to use for lettering after Julia.
Pentel Touch Pen
The Pentel Touch Pen was left in Julia’s drawer for years. She didn’t know what to do with it, until she saw a lettering artwork on Instagram with it. The Pentel Touch Pen has a small, thin nib with a flexible synthetic fiber, which is very easy to use. Thin and thick lines are going smoothly without much pressure. The pen isn’t waterproof nor resistant for other markers.
This Pen loves: Marker Paper | Bristol Paper | Coated Paper | Rhodia Dot Pad | Offset Paper
Characteristics: not waterproof | not marker resistant
Pentel Brush Pen
The Pentel Brush Pen has a strange nib, which indeed is made of real hair. It is filled with ink which makes the color waterproof. His characteristics are perfect for watercolor usage. Because the ink is very busy on paper it is refillable with ink cartridges. With the pens nib you can practice chinese calligraphy. If you work fast you will see nice little grungy strokes which give your lettering a touch if vintage.
The Pentel Brush Pen loves: Marker Paper | Bristol Paper | Coated Paper | Rhodia Dot Pad
Characteristics: f043 waterproof | f069  lightfast
Tombow ABT Dual Brush Pen
The Tombow ABT Dual Brush Pen is the most wanted pen all over the world at the moment and it is the favourite for most Instagramers. The colour choice is enormous and the nib is perfectly made for brush letterings. The Tombow turns to an watercolor pen on satin-finished paper and enables fake-watercolor paintings. But it needs to be careful on a rougher surface like a special watercolor paper because the nib could be dmaged very fasten on such surfaces. For lettering, watercolor paper is not suitable.
The Tombow loves: Marker Paper | Bristol Paper | Coated Paper | Rhodia Dot Pad
Characteristics: not waterproof | not marker resistant
Copic Ciao Marker
The Ciao Marker from Copic has a calligraphy fibre nib on the one site and on the other site a brush lettering nib, which is perfect for lettering practices. The nib is a bit larger than on the other bushes and very flexible which tooks a little bit more practicing to handle it.
Ciao loves: Marker Paper | Bristol Paper (be careful becausethe color can percolate through the paper)
Characteristics: f043waterproof
Stylefile Brush Marker
The Stylefile Brush Marker has a round fibre nib on one site and a rounder nib on the other site which is more heavy to use for letterings than the Ciao Marker. If you push too much, the front end of the nib lifts off a little bit and this might cause skipped passages on the paper.
Stylefile loves: Marker Paper | Bristol Paper (be careful becausethe color can percolate through the paper)
Characteristics: f043waterproof
Copic Multiliner BS
The Copic Multiliner BS has a very mellow, thin and long nib. Clean letteirng is a real challenge. The characteristics of this Multiliner are waterproofness and Copic resistance which make this Marker a real must have one. But it is not made for beginners. The best part of it is that every little part of the marker is replaceable. The nib and the ink cartridge, also the cover. It has a robust shaft produce of aluminium for a high longevity.
Stylefile loves: Marker Paper | Bristol Paper
Characteristics: f043waterproof | f069 lightfast | f06d marker resistant
Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pen B
The Pitt Artist Pen B from Faber Castell has a very fine, in the beginning hard nib to draw very thin lines with. On rougher surfaces, the nib suffers and frays. On normal paper, the nib stays perfect for a long time.
Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pen loves: Marker Paper | Bristol Paper | Coated Paper | Rhodia Dot Pad
Characteristics: f043waterproof | f069 lightfast
Brush Pen line comparison
youtube
Which paper is best for lettering ?
It’s important to know the differences and characteristics of paper before starting to practice lettering with a brush pen. While writing you must keep an eye on the nib of the pen and thet you don’t use too much power for holdign and guiding it. The stressed fiber could be damaged very fast. If the nib is damaged the pen is mostly beyond repair. In general, it is important to use a smooth paper, often coated which means that the single fibers of the paper are very narrow. The smooth paper gives the pen no big friction so that it can slip easily above the paper. Only the drying process of the colour takes a little time, because it is not entering the paper so fast. Which is good for hard and sharp contures but also negative for bluring the whole artwork with one gesture. Lefthanders have to be very careful.
Big thanks to Julia from Farbcafe.de who created this brush pen lettering guide. We also use mostly the Tombow ABT Dual Brush Pen because of it’s perfect Nib for brush letterings and the normal nib on the other side for typography.

Lemme just say: I adore your style and you're an inspiration to start drawing more. Your art was the first thing I found when looking for Ikesen fanart. I love your OCs and HCs and ramblings. I want to try drawing with more traditional tools - what alcohol based markers do you use? Thanks for existing!
criES ThaNK
agahsgshsddshs i always throw my ikesen nonsense into the internet void and promptly forget about 80% of it so I didnt realize that I’d become big enough to be found fairly easily qwq sobs that makes me really happy~
good luck with traditional art, my guy! i use the prismacolour markers, specifically these ones here, a pack of three black markers (i havent really found a use for them tho lol) and 9 levels of warm gray, but i had gotten the pack from one of those sites that sell misprints and mistakes and surplus for cheap so it was only 16 bucks instead of like 70 qwq (the colours on the makers are labelled wrong so thats why i got it so discounted)
honestly i dont think i’d recommend them for full price, if you manage to find some discounted i think theyre solid but theres better markers out there in the same price range or somtimes cheaper~
i also have three (3) copics lol (cool gray 3, 5,and 7) and while i havent used them in a long time ‘cause i need to buy more ink and replacement nibs, i’d honestly recommend copics over prismacolour brushmarkers if we’re going by their normal prices ‘cause of the advantages of copics
functionally they feel the same to me, they’re about the same price (i think the sketch markers are more expensive than the brushmarkers? i dunno i only have ciaos sorry qwq), copics barely smell in comparison to the brushmakers (i got used to the smell but it is kinda strong oof especially when you first buy them), plus the copics are refillable and have replacement nibs, I dont think the brushmakers got either which sucks
but yeah i dunno im mainly using the brushmarkers ‘cause i got em for so cheap so i would recommend them for 12 for 16 bucks but i don’t think id recommend them for their normal copic-level prices
those are the only types of alcohol markers ive personally tried (theyre all gray lol i just love me some grayscale gomen) but sometime i think i wanna invest in some colours someday, maybe ill try out some other cheaper brands some time~
edit: also btw im in canada im not sure if brushmarkers are cheaper than copics elsewhere? they’re the same price here oofeverything in canada is too expensive and im dying scoob

Another #Portrait, #CopicMarkers on #Strathmore toned tan paper. Here’s another portrait from my growing collection of marker portraits. Reference found on Pintrest again. I’m really enjoying them but I need more practice at blending. Also I think a C4 and C6 colour would help smooth the transitions but they dont seem to do those as copic ciao (the cheap ones). Cropped by instagram, the full page is on today's blog post, link in bio https://www.instagram.com/p/BnViXnjhmYo/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=h61ubo4acup8

Hey, so I saw a thing before where you said you use copics, and I have a friend who just got some copics and doesn't know how to use them, and I was wondering if you could explain so I could tell her? (We're both having issues finding info online about how to use them)
Aaa thanks for asking!!Ive been using copics for three or four years now, and they are all I use to color (and some white gel pens). They certainly have a steep learning curve, but they are really amazing and it made me super happy that your friend is using them!!!First off, they take practise. And lots of markers. When youre normally shading something, you would press harder (pencils) or select a different shade (digital). But with copic, you shade with an entirely different marker. Also, never blend with the colorless blender unless you want your art to be super splotchy. This is how I blend:1. Base color of the lightest tone I will use. (For most skin, I use E000 or E50.) 2. Hard shadows, semi-cell shaded (E13, E33, E53; depends on the character)3. Add some pinks and purples in. Purple in skin? Yeah, I use it for the deepest shadows, it makes them look more real. Pinks go in the cheeks, knees, ears, etc. (R20, E93, Bv31)4. Get your original base color out and use it to blend everything together. Work in small circles. Copics blend by the lighter color pushing the darker color through the paper, so don’t worry if your paper seems wet. It will dry when the alcohol evaporates.
The numbers on the copics work like this:1. Each color group has its own letter, R (red), B(blue), etc. Two letters means its a combination. Bv stands for blue violet, Yr is yellow red, etc. Greys work a little differently, since theres different grey families. W is warm grey, which has more yellow in it, C is cool grey, which has more blue, And N is neutral grey, which is somewhere down the middle. I think theres also T for toner grey, which you would use for manga, but ive never seen those markers in person.2. The numbers by the letter are separate, E15 isn’t a fifteen, its a one five. The first number is the group, and the second number is how dark it is in that group. Every set of tens, the shade resets, which is why B93 is much lighter then B29. Additionally, the higher the first number, the more drawn out the colors will be. B18 is a very very bright deep blue, but B95 is more of a slate grey. If the marker has a third number (Y00, E000, etc) it just means that its a very pale marker. Some of them are so pale they barely show up, but they are some of the most useful pens I have.
3. Blacks work differently. There are two black copics, 100 and 110. (Named black and special black respectively). Special black is just a little bit more blue in my opinion. I use it more because my black needs refilled and I haven’t gotten the refill yet lol ^^“
Feel free to ask me more questions!! I know this is kinda long but I looooove talking about copics!! Ill add some links too, to a couple sites I find helpful. The first is the blog of the amazing Marianne Walker, who taught me how to use copics in the first place and gave me my first marker. (Plus she named her kids AnnaMay and Luke Sky which is totally awesome)http://ilikemarkers.blogspot.com/?m=1
And this link is to a manga that imagination international thhemselves made about their products (the parent company of copic). Ive met the girls who illustrated it, and they are really cool!! The first "book” of it is more about copics and the second one is more of the other products, from what I remember. There might be a third by now? Idk.https://imaginationinternationalinc.com/iii-academy/Also, a tip on buying markers!! Sketch and Ciao are the same, but ciao is cheaper and holds less ink. Classic dont have flicky tips, and wide are super wide and hard.I buy my markers at hobby lobby and Michaels, I get one pen a week at hobby lobby and use the 40% off coupon which puts them down to $4.79 a marker. Sometimes Michaels will have 50% off coupons that work on the markers, and they have marker sets as well!! The sets can get spendy, but its way cheaper then getting each marker individually.I really hope this helps!!!! Send in another ask if you need more info!! :)

So I just bought a nice set of Copic ciao marker and decided to try it on an AU EdxTerra fanart… Perhaps I was just too excited to use the markers that I didn’t realize their pose looked like another drawing I’ve made LOL… but I guess this worth keeping XD (still, obviously I really need to practice a lot and lot more)

A couple of things I’ve been working on, at least those polished up enough to be worth seeing. Gabby isn’t new, but the colour and the splash of Copic airbrush is. I forgot how much I liked doing Copic airbrushes (although it really is intended more for smaller surfaces than large ones; the stream tends to dry out if you use it for too long/too broad, so you have to pause and wait for a minute.)
I mean I like doing them outside because it seems a bit safer, even if I’m probably not spraying marker ink everywhere because it has such a short range, but when it’s -30 outside, that’s...not a good idea. Hell, cracking open the patio door for half an hour to provide some ventilation wasn’t exactly a great idea either, but I got results, damn it.  🙃
If you ever get a chance to use the airbrush system, quick tip: it’s meant to be used with the chisel tip facing the air blower, but if you use the brush tip, you get a cool splatter effect like this. If you’re lucky you can even fit non-Copic markers in there. (Or, if you’re me and have more of the cheaper Copic Ciaos, you make a small marker fit a too-large frame by putting in a weird grip to hold the marker in place while your finger depresses the trigger. I saw someone suggesting using a rubber eraser or Silly Putty to make a sort of mold to hold it in place, but I tried that and it didn’t work, so weird semi-painful claw grip it is!)
As an aside, I keep forgetting Gabby’s glasses match her hair. I always, always think her glasses are the same shade of pink as her sweater, and I’m just glad I actually caught myself this time, because I probably would’ve made them pink. They’d look good in pink too, but they’re not. 😝
As for the other two, one actually is related, it’s Gabby’s home planet the planet Hemera in the Earthia universe. @erinhime83 described it to me as looking fairly normal coloured, but having an atmosphere that makes it appear pink and orange (without being thick/opaque, like, say, Venus’ clouds.) I guess this works? When I made the original planets for her, I had Photoshop CS5, but had to shift to Photoshop Elements 2019 because CS5 started being unbearably slow when newer OS upgrades. Unfortunately, Elements is a stripped-down version, and you don’t realize how much you need some of those elements until you don’t have them. Like the layer effects. The atmosphere is just a style file included in the planet tutorial package I downloaded, and it defaults to a bluish atmosphere. Okay fine, change it to pink, and...well, there was some sort of effect in the full Photoshop that created an inner glow (not just inner glow, but it created a crescent of colour), and you could modify the colour appropriately. I could modify the inner/outer glow, but not that blue crescent, so we had this weird effect where I had a pink atmosphere and some weird bluish thing that I couldn’t change colour. It took some workarounding to get it to look okay, but I think I managed.
The other one there is the planet Nemsis, which was described as being black and lime green, except I wasn’t sure what was what so I sort of mottled it. This one isn’t finished yet--I’m still playing around with the colours and shading, trying to get something that looks decent. I will say, doing the selection part, to map out continents and oceans etc, was...hard? It would select way too much or not enough. Maybe I’ve grown rusty in making planet textures--put too much stuff in, such that it’s hard for the magic wand tool to figure out what to select because there’s not enough contrast. At one point it was like...the top half was basically land, and the bottom half was basically water, and I managed to fix something up so it wasn’t quite so watery, but it gave me an amusing thought that maybe the Thanatians knew the Nemesites were up to no good. Maybe they thought they could like, create a great flood and wipe them out, Bible-style, except all it did was flood the latter half of the planet and the rest were all mountains or something not easily floodable. (I don’t remember if the Thanatians were as heavy-handed in planet seeding and species creation as they were in the earlier versions.)
As it is I wound up giving it a hell of a lot of ice caps, ice caps which feel disproportionately larger than Earth’s to me, so maybe the Thanatians just tried freezing them all instead. And it didn’t work.
“Sir, our probes are coming back with preliminary data after the launch of Project Ice Age.”
“Excellent, Doctor, what are they showing?”
“Well, er, you know how we sent down icy asteroids to bolster their arctic poles? And how we sent the atmosphere modifiers to send the planet into a rapid cooldown? That part worked perfectly. Both the northern and southern ice caps have grown by about fifty percent, and the average planetary temperature has dropped by about five degrees Kelvin. From what we understand, about one-eighteenth of their total population was wiped out from a combination of cold, disease, and starvation. That is the, er, good news.”
“...and the bad news?”
“...well, for one, by their own estimates the climate change only killed their, quote-unquote, ‘weaklings’, which they do not seem terribly torn up about--ghastly, if you ask me--and the remaining population, which is still significant, is adapting to the cold.”
“That is workable. We did not expect them to be wiped out immediately. Give our people a couple more years to get the model twos up and running, and the second launch should drop it further. Even another five degrees Kelvin should be enough to do it, and Dr. Ellys promises me it should be closer to the eight-to-ten degrees range.”
“...yes, but there is more. It did reduce their agricultural yield, so there are fierce fights and unrest over what remaining land and resources there are.”
“Then perhaps they will wipe themselves out before we even launch.”
“...somehow I doubt that. Yes, they are fighting, but they are also exploring for new resources, adapting to the new climate. They seem to be breaking down into even smaller, tribalistic fashions. Several sects of them broke off and started exploring the oceans.”
“Your point being?”
“They are living on the ice, sir.”
“What?”
“You heard me. A small nation’s worth people crossed the seat in boats, and then started walking along the ice when it got too thick to sail. They are adapting to the cold far better than we imagined.”
“...surely they cannot last that long. What is there to eat on the ice? They will starve to death.”
“They can fish. And the climate change apparently altered the ecosystem such that a small, minor animal, suddenly faced with no competition, became a massive predator and their numbers expanded rapidly. As near as we can tell, they are alternately taming and eating them, as well as fishing.. They wear fur for warmth. They are adapting to the cold. We did not plan for them to adapt to the cold!”
“Impossible. Their skin is so dark they require sunlight to function optimally. Living at the poles would reduce the amount of choelcalciferol they can produce--”
“Fish. They are consuming a lot of fish, and apparently are quite content about it, because none of the other Nemesites seem to realize that is a resource. It has been about three generations, and this one group had adapted far too well. I fear even if the majority of the Nemesites destroy themselves, there will be enough of their numbers left that they can still cause destruction. This group might seem simple, but they still have all the technological capabilities of the rest of them, and a smug sense of superiority. We have bred monsters!”
“Wh...what about the mainland Nemesites? Surely they will see something is amiss--get jealous and slaughter them? They are an unstable people overall. I would not rush to panic yet.”
“The ‘mainlanders’ do not exist any more, they have all scattered. Some have gone high up into the mountains, while others have searched for warmth by going underground. The basic traits are all there, but the level of adaptability and, dare I say, cleverness, is not something we had predicted or imagined. I fear if we try to freeze them out again they will just leave, build colonies elsewhere. We can never be rid of them.”
“Nemesites cannot muster the support one would need to build a colony. It is not something one man and some paid labourers can do--it is something that would require a level of collaboration and cooperation that they lack--”
“THE NEMESITES WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE LIVING ON THE ARCTIC POLES AND EATING FISH EITHER, WYLL, AND HERE WE ARE.”
Another aside: when it came to textures, since Nemesis was described as a pretty chaotic planet, I went with sort of gross- disgusting things for textures--mild, lava, scar tissue, and I think there’s some electron photography of an artery or something in there, because blood. Not that you can really tell, but it is neat, and is a change from the usual rock-based textures I usually use.
