I would really like to see how Nesta’s self depreciating ways or her self sacrificial tendencies look like to the others now that they “like” her. I just honestly want to write something with Nesta being “I don’t care about me” like she’s said before in one of the books after figuring out how she can help by doing some dangerous task that may risk her life and Azriel fiercely being like “but we care about you!” And then proceeds to try and stop her from doing said desperate, dangerous thing.

Az looked over to find Nesta looking at Mor.

They often found them selves together during parties. What with both ,him and Nesta, being a little (a lot) averse to crowds. This time was no different, the two of them were lounging on the balcony of the banquet hall while close to all of Prythian was dancing and drinking and gossiping inside.

" Who? Mor?", he asked , then shrugged in answer. He didn't know exactly why he'd held out a candle for Mor for so long. His reasons had kept changing over the decades. He'd had spent so long in the darkness when he'd met her, she had seemed like she could light up his whole life. Perhaps that was it?

"I'm not entirely sure ", he said aloud knowing full well Nesta wouldn't let him off the hook so easily.

Uhmm - Spoiler Alert?! 😅

So I just finished Chapter 14 of HOFAS. I know I still have a lot to go through —- but My God! I can’t help but smile everytime Nesta and Azriel appears! I feel so giddy and happy, I just missed them so much! 🥹 And honestly, i think it’s fitting that it’s them with Bryce. It would be a disaster if it’s Cassian and Feyre hahaha 😂

I know it’s probably far fetched, but I want Nesta and Azriel to be part of Bryce’s found family (Team F*ck You) ! 😅

i hope sjm really expands on azriel and nesta’s friendship in this next book because we NEED more of them. az was the only one in the ic who never failed to show nesta that he was there for her and truly cared. not even her own sisters could do that. he never pressured her into doing anything she didn’t want to, and she saw him for him. not the scary warrior everyone was afraid of, but just azriel.

Let's review where Rhys and Nesta are at at the end of ACOSF:

Nesta is in love and ready to get married. She doesn't care about the details but Rhys is going crazy wedding planning.

I feel like this is a good setup for the rest of the books. Rhys falling over himself to make Nesta happy even in dumb ways (like sending her throw pillows). Nesta completely indifferent about his efforts.

The inherit comedy is perfect.

Now that I know Nesta and Azriel are going to be in a short together, I kind of want Nesta and Azriel to be placed in more things together. And by that I mean, if Nesta hypothetically has some power left, I want Azriel to be the one who helps her learn it. If only because he also has a power that no one else has that is perceived as "dark." He got it from a traumatic experience, and Nesta did too. So I think it makes sense for Azriel to lean towards the perspective that the power protects and that the power needs to be mastered or it will master her. That the power isn't inherently evil, it's just power. She gets to decide how to wield it.

In reality though, i.e., my head, the reason why Azriel ends up being the person who helps teach Nesta is because Nesta still refuses Amren and with Rhys, she visibly grimaces and avoids, to the point that it becomes comical. It won't be Feyre for obvi reasons, the main one being Nesta not being comfortable, and of course it won't be Mor because she has absolutely no patience and neither does Nesta. In my head also, learning her power does become a necessity though because Nesta uses it often and accidentally, in ways that are quite possibly dangerous mostly to herself.

So it's Azriel at the end of the day who teachers her. Also because he's patient. Nesta still refuses at first, because she's stubborn and I love that for her, but he's like I'm 500+ years and a spy master, I can outwait you. And he does, and Nesta begins learning how to use her power little by little. Baby steps. He's not pushy, but he is firm.

It's also the only way I can think of to solidify my "Azriel treating Nesta like a kid sister" vibes so I have to do what I have to do.

Someone said Azriel doesn’t need more fighting and someone to challenge him. He needs tranquility and with Elain he could have that. But I feel like he needs someone, wether romantically or platonically, to not pull punches with him and I can’t see Elain doing that.

When does anyone ever fight him? They just tiptoe around him and let him be broody. They just sigh and say "that's Az for you, he's been sad for 500 years but I guess we just need to give him more time!" That's a huge part of the problem, right now.

Az does need peace, but it needs to be within himself, it needs to come from himself. He needs to reconcile with his past, be at peace with what has happened to him and the people he loves, realize that it wasn't his fault, and that he's been paying penance for things that weren't his fault for hundreds of years. He's got a lot of anger to work through and it isn't going to be fixed by someone just sitting there quietly with him.

Az absolutely needs someone who is going to call him on his shit and tell him to get himself sorted out. Elain definitely is not going to do that because she's too busy acting the exact same way. Gwyn's optimism and determination will give him another way of looking at life, and her competitiveness with him will push him in a friendly, good-spirited way. And she won't be afraid to tell him what he needs to hear.

Nesta I think will be a big part of this, too. Because she understands Azriel's specific kind of darkness in ways that his other friends can't, and she's also, having worked her way to the other side of it, going to know when he needs to be pushed and when he needs to be left alone. nezriel brotp was the highlight of hofas, for me.

Anyway, that's one of the reasons e*riel has been my notp since day one. They are the exact opposite of what each of them needs to move forward with their lives.
