Diverse Stardew Valley 4.0 Sneak Peak!

Hey everyone! DSV 4.0 is getting close to being done, so I thought I’d show off some of the cool stuff that’s gonna be included! 😊 I’ve also been sharing little snippets in the DSV Discord server recently, so if you’re not already a member, check our website for the link.

It’s pretty long and has a lot of images, so click through to see them!

The big news is that DSV 4.0 will move back to an all-in-one download (and will also be hosted on Nexus again) with a SMAPI component, DSV Core, which will consolidate all of the config options for more convenience. DSV Core is the hard work of KediDili from a concept originally by Nuztalgia!

It’ll also mean that other mods will be able to read your DSV config choices, which opens up a lot of potential for compatibility! Platonic Partners and Friendships users may be familiar with how this works, since PPAF has a similar feature and DSV is able to automatically provide compat depending on your PPAF config.

Options will be divided into different pages so that it’s not an overwhelming list of choices, and DSV Core will also automatically disable compatibility options for other mods if you don’t have that mod installed, so it’ll reduce some of the option clutter. We’ve also future-proofed the config so that you also won’t need to redo your config settings when we add more options in the future and added a function to automatically fix common typos in manually-edited config.jsons!

As you can see in the screenshot above, 4.0 will also add dialogue for many characters related to DSV’s variants! This feature has been much requested and a lot of people have contributed dialogue, so thank you to everyone who wrote some lines for us 💖 If you’re interested in helping out with dialogue as well, feel free to join the DSV server and chat to us about it!

Another major content update will be DSV’s swimsuits! We’ve updated all of the swimsuits to have fresh new designs, and there’ll be a new option for every character with a beach swimsuit in the vanilla game to use either the vanilla design (with some minor tweaks to clean up art issues & match DSV’s bases) or the DSV design.

Other stuff being included is a skintone saturation boost for modded Harvey and Black Emily and Haley, after feedback from our sensitivity checkers...

She’ll be a non-friendable NPC and will require Sprites in Detail as a temporary measure until SDV 1.6 is released, but she’ll also have more dialogue, including dialogue from Linus about her, and new animations 🐕‍🦺

and I know some popular versions of those

and they are all intrinsically cute

if I try to follow the exact same track as the original, they would be like this

maybe this one is most popular for RRRR users

because RRRR gives you hi-res Gigi portraits / 64px Event portraits as the default

I like how Chaekal's wiz smiles

by default, his expression is somewhat grumpy and distant

but when he smiles, he suddenly kanda radiates the brightest smile in the world

and he even literally sparkles lol

and I like the golden deco on Gigi's wiz

when I first saw it, I didn't know what it was

since razzy isn't a person who puts on make-up every day, I simply merged the deco into his eyes when I drew the rrrr-compat-portraits

anyway, confronting my past me's work is quite challenging for me

and he somewhat gives me a floating extravagant notion of 'the unfortunate vampire lord now locked himself in a very forsaken, stark, lonesome place of exile who once was a very ordinary cute chestnut boy (and still cute)'

his strawberry-ish color would be the culprit

anyway it's quite true except that he doesn't drink blood

▷if razzy were a vampire - and vampires are not common, so he can't just buy blood from Amazon > he would just buy a bunch of animals and drink their blood, not a single drop of a human's - if vampires could only drink human blood, without causing lasting harm to prey > he would starved to death because he can't afford ask people, 'May I drink your blood? It won't cause any harm.' /j > or he would still survive in this case: 1. if he starve, he'll driven insane, causing the bloody massacre and further cursing his guilty conscience. Or simply a government aid for those in need so the ministry decided to offer some food for everyone's sake (anyway nobody gets hurt) 2. look for applicants who wants sell their blood meet the super hot, sexy and shy vampire and get paid ... what if: 'your family just sold you to the vampire lord to get some money and reduce the number of mouths to feed- razzy tries to send you back to your family but you don't want to go back because they will just happy that they can sell you again and receive the price twice so he is convinced and allow you to live in his lair' this is quite a sort of fanfic idea I believe someone will write it one day during my lifetime

anyway, his clothes never allow me dare to comprehend

so I think this would be the last time I draw him unless I have a reason to draw :ded:

in my head, he has a face that has faced the years of agony head-on

and never knows the razor

even he cannot escape from the wizard's intrinsic cuteness

cuz he is still a dorky genius who is unable to act appropriat to his age as other razzy does plz don't make me slap you, all razziez

but I hardly draw him

the biggest reason is that he is hard to draw

and I have a habit of imitating the expression while I drawing

so my face becomes like this whenever I draw the oldzrd:

drawing his hair is super-ez: just draw as it comes to my mind, and it suddenly becomes hair

but the rest parts of the face is super-hard: quite more masculine than my usual style, yet not so straight lines at the same time

so he is the most challenging to draw :3

I amalgamated my OC W with RRRRRazzy

when I draw him, he looks too childish, but his actual apparent age is 23~27 in my headcanon since he's my OC, it's a canon

half-officially, every razzy should have at least 20% dead eyes /j

and it seems my Wagnus Razzy's eyes don't even appear alive

anyway, I shall redraw my portraits one day for my sake...

when I draw razzy, I usually draw:

Regarding Mod Updates

Patch 2.0 and Phantom Liberty are quickly approaching, and so I want to make my mod-handling plans clear before they drop!

I am not making any plans or promises to begin updating my mods before November 1st. I intend to replay the game and play the expansion, and so I am setting aside plenty of time to do that before I worry about updating my mods and resources. I may decide to update some mods here and there before that date, or I may not. If I update one mod early, that does not mean all mods will be updated early.

I realize this may be inconvenient for some folks! However, it's something I'm going to ask y'all to sit with, as my mods will never be updated again if I start treating this like a job and lose sight of the joy in it.

In the meantime, please feel free to report any new bugs on the appropriate Nexus mod page(s). The comments will be temporarily closed, so you will need to use the bug-reporting tab instead. This will allow me to know where to start when I am ready to return to modding, and will also allow other users to easily see which mods are known to have issues post-2.0 or post-PL.

TL;DR:

Don't ask me to update my mods before November 1st. Assume anything broken will not be fixed until that date, and if anything does get fixed before then, chock it up to luck and continue waiting for everything else.

ahaha i just watched MoM :)

here are my fresh thoughts on it

visually, the film is stunning. the thing about doctor strange films is that the film production is absolutely allowed to go ham with the cinematography. mystical shit, bitch, absolutely weird. it was why the first was my favorite, and why i anticipated this one (probably not as much as i did for nwh, but what can i say lmao spiderman funny i am tired college freshman epic !!!)

like some of my favorite shots or scenes were definitely homages to horror films. the reflection/mirror dimension parts going for the ring, and the tunnel chase scene being what i think is an homage to the shining (?). a lot of those are scattered throughout MoM, and i thought those were really cool. thank u mr raimi

however

plot-wise? not good.

uhhh

lemme just narrow it down to some points,

wherein the screenwriters, evidently,:

did NOT pick up on the nuances of stephen and christine's pre-canon lovers-to-friends arc in his first film

surely, only solely watched the what if? series to put in the concept of strange feeling more romantic love than he actually did in the mcu (to be fair, ol' cabbagepatch really sells it well, it's the VA expertise in him)

did NOT watch wandavision,

OR took away from it the idea that wanda only became a... questionably redeemable villain. yknow, after she took down a witch who would only hoard and harness her powers to herself without the guarantee of westview being set free

ignored the fact that wanda herself imposed seclusion and self-exile after westview, because That is how she learned to let go and so that she wouldnt hurt anyone anymore

DEFINITELY ignored the fact that people like monica, darcy, and jimmy acknowledged that she was at the peak of her grief, and knew she was ultimately good underneath all of that

kinda forgot about billy and tommy's powers, and how if they had used them against the scarlet witch in defense by the end, it would likely still make the point they wanted it to

uhhh once again denied a character who has suffered throughout her life even the tiniest sliver of a redemption arc OR real mental help that can be talked about. she doesnt visibly come out of there alive, there's no small seconds of her facing justice but getting proper healing and adjustment that she needed. they literally said that the darkhold (if i am spelling it right, edits abound) corrupts the user. ok, and as the scarlet witch, a literal nexus being, one of the most powerful people out there, couldnt be given the chance to gradually overcome that by the end?,, what is the point of establishing her as a key figure if she justs becomes the big bad to be vanquished at the end of the day?

also lol skipped over mordo being "the guy that tries to kill doctor strange every now and again", like he didnt have a large role in the first film

and many other weak points that may come to mind later on

so, basically, you mean to tell me that throughout all of wanda maximoff's life in the mcu, she never gets another channel for her grief, and that is how exactly she dies? her story doesn't become one of those that essentially say, you get to carve your own destiny and your position or actions or whatever people say dont make you completely evil. no, no, it doubles down on the fact that she's a wicked woman, or turned into one because she lost her kids.

also its crazy because.. idk if it's the angry wanda stan in me right now just after watching the movie, but i cannot remember what stephen's role was. was his arc set on becoming the guardian and mentor for america chavez? was it another lesson for him on how actions have consequences and so does his pride? or was it solely hinged on love and want for christine? hm. he's the titular character.

great cg tho thats what im saying, and all these actors still bring all theyve got to the table despite the weak script.

honestly, way back at the beginning before more details of the film's production were announced, i thought mordo would be the antagonist. y'know, because they alluded to that in the first film's end credits scenes AND because he just is in the comics. like he'd do something or find a way to fuck up sorcerers and magic in the multiverse, because he literally said "no more sorcerers" or smth like that after his disillusionment with the ancient one, so it would be up to a doctor strange/scarlet witch teamup to stop him. and ofc wanda and stephen could have their debate on who's more villainized and why, but still have them be on the same ground. you would expect wanda to be tempted by mordo, with the promise of her children or universes where she's with them and her husband and her brother, but she wouldnt be the total rushed villain and redemption would at least still be on the table. stuff like that, yknow.

but no. that is not what happened, indeed.

(altho john krasinski as reed richards is cool in concept. it fits, and id like to see more of him in that role ngl.

sir patrick stewart as professor x... definitely done dirty with his quick death [as is the case with all members of the illuminati, why are they in charge if they can get taken out like that] but otherwise extremely cool to show his impact And his powers. you could feel that he's got the heart when he went into wanda's mind for a bit. i personally havent watched the x-men films in his and sir ian mckellen's era, and yet somehow because ive got flashes of knowing about it from childhood i get to feel like ive missed him. thats fun)

so did i enjoy it? kinda, yea. a 6-7/10

would i watch it again? only for the sheet music battle scene because i want to properly hear the soundtrack to see how it fits the moment.

otherwise, no. i'd rather rewatch the first doctor strange film, wandavision, and any other fan fix-its.

Character Insight #8: Galactagosa

Full Name: Galactagosa Gender: Trans Female (she/her) Race: Blue Dragon (visage: Night Elf/Kaldorei) Class: Mage Specialization: Arcane Orientation: Lesbian Relatives: No Known Relatives Age: ~3,000 Height: 7'11 Voice reference: Six Eyes - Beastars Theme: The Nexus - Amaranthe

[BACKSTORY]

Galactagosa was born in the Nexus in Coldarra, Borean Tundra on the continent of Northrend. Born a considerable time after the War of the Ancients, Galacta was not raised on the concerns of mortals possessing magic like so many of her Flight were. Instead, the mortals interested her, and she believed every living creature had the right to defend themselves by magical means if necessary. However, the rest of the Blue Dragons did not, as the Aspect of Magic at the time, Malygos, believed mortals to be irresponsible with magic.

For the most part, Galacta kept her opinions to herself. Her life as a Dragon for a long time was stagnant. Her visage ceremony didn't go particularly as planned, though. As a Dragon that was born male, Galactagosa (who, at the time, was referred to as Galactagos) was expected to take on a matching male visage. However, she had found herself feeling more comfortable when experimenting with female pronouns, and instead chose the form of a female Kaldorei as a visage.

That was not the problem that Galactagosa raised for her Dragonflight, however. The problem was that, when Malygos declared war against the mortal magic-users and his fellow Dragonkin, Galacta did not follow him. Instead, she rebelled, using her arcane masteries to assist the Kirin Tor during the Nexus War. Mortals always intrigued her, and she made many friends in the Kirin Tor, including real Night Elf mages that had been ostracized from their main society for their affinity for magic. Thus, she took extra pride in her visage, and oriented herself as an ally to the rights of mortals.

Since the end of the Nexus War, Galactagosa has felt misplaced. The Blue Flight became scattered, with very little of them left on Azeroth. But when the Dragon Isles awakened and called the Dragonflights home, the Blues reorganized again, and Galacta was happy to return to her kin since the crazed Malygos was long dead. Now, Galacta seeks to research more about magic and its affects on the world of Azeroth, and is happy she can coexist with her Flight and keep her morals in the process.

[THOUGHTS]

This is also a character that hasn't been on-screen yet but I think she'll be a fun gal to give a role to in upcoming arcs! A quick post, but it took me a while 'cause.. well I honestly wasn't entirely motivated lol, but here it is!

Naruto re-read XXVI

Chapters covered: 209 - 217 Twentyfourth Volume of the manga

Disclaimer: This is intended as a list and simple observations of the topics that particularly interested me in the aforementioned chapters, in that sense, do not expect a linear -or totally deep- analysis.

306) Hinata appears on the Chapter’s cover, her hands are dispositioned in her usually anxious manner but she’s seen smiling, she seems to be waiting. It’s unclear what she has to do with it.

307) Shikamaru states that it’s “against his code” to strike a lady (x), despite her being a kunoichi and the one that’s confronting him and keeping him from reaching and helping Naruto. Yet, because Tayuya doesn’t fit the “definition” of what a woman is (she’s on her Lv2 stage, which shapes her human form to something more monstrous), he’s okay with using violence to defeat her (she blocks his attempt regardless).

Now, I know that this particular aspect of his character is, as I’ve said before, to establish Temari as his romantical interest (x), she doesn’t break his preconceived notions, as some believe, she simply becomes the sole exception to his mentality, yet having a shinobi not willing to take an enemy seriously nor strike them down for the sole premise of their gender it’s strategically dangerous, and a person with such “moral code” can’t be leading an entire platoon of people (x).

308) Shadow Paralysis consumes a big portion of the user’s chakra, and again, it works by how much chakra the enemy possesses (x), as Tayuya increases her horns’ size (she increments her chakra by accessing further stages of the seal) and his shadow-strangle-technique is forced back.

309) Sasuke’s body, which has been sealed inside a dark fog to prevent him from dying after taking Seishingna Pills, seems to be ready and re-emerges (x):

“Seishingan pills (x), apparently, the Curse Mark Orochimaru gave his pupils (including Anko, likely she never took Seishingan pills and that’s why we never see her transformed into a “monster-like” figure like the Sound Four or Sasuke) boosts their strength but it’s only in the First Stage. This medication awakens the Seal’s power, raising it to its Second Stage, but the moment the Seal develops, the Curse eats away the user’s body, which if left unattended will surely kill them. To prevent this from happening, the user must acclimatize their body to the Seal’s power and Cursed effect for an extended period of time; the Sound Four want to prevent Sasuke from dying using a barrier Jutsu to control the side effects -inducing him into a comma of sorts.” (x)

310) When Sasuke wakes up, he ignores Naruto’s attempt to return to Konoha. Naruto, remembering Sakura’s plead, tries to follow (x), gets almost killed by Kimimaro and saved by Lee (x), whose shinobi career was saved by Tsunade (x).

311) Ino is the next one, appearing on the cover of CH 210 (x).

312) Kimimaro states that Lee isn’t as “easy” as the others, it’s unknown if he’s referring to the rest of the team or to Naruto specifically (x)

313) A little explanation of how a Jönin squad lost against the Sound Four (x), Tsunade sent an entire group of Gënin (with no backup) against a team that she was told won against full-fledged shinobi. She even attaches Sasuke’s value as a Sharingan Wielder (she doesn’t even mentions him by name, but the doujutsu he possesses); Jönin and Chünin were sent either to missions to gather wealth for the realm or to Konoha’s border to monitor possible dangers to avoid war –strange how a village decimated by destruction and whose numbers dwelled considerably after the invasion relies on small groups of shinobi keeping guards to avoid armed conflict instead of trying to solidify a political nexus in between Konoha and potential invaders. It’s likely more a plot device introduced by Kishimoto to give the gënin squad a chance to fight strong enemies without Konoha’s elite interfering but it doesn’t change the fact that, bureaucratically, Tsunade made a mistake as not only she sent gënin with immense potential (the Hyuga prodigy, the Nara and Akimichi heirs and the nine tails Jinchuuriki) to a dangerous situation that goes beyond their capabilities but also compromised further Konoha’s military and political situation.

314) Lee escaped Konoha’s hospital and found Naruto fighting Kimimaro (x) so following the trail of the team is possible and more gënin could be sent as support to guarantee a better success rate at recovering “the Sharingan”, is Tsunade unaware of how many gënin Shikamaru took? Lee consumed Tsunade’s alcohol which makes him particularly violent (x).

315) Kimimaro is very beautiful (x) and his Kekkei Genkai is incredible: It gives him complete control over his osteoblasts and osteoclasts (x); while the human body is composed of two hundred bones, Kimimaro can grow more from every part of his body and pierce his skin in order to use them as weapons against his enemies or defend his organs against attacks; it appears that his skin regenerates as he’s seen without open wounds after the bones disappear. Apparently, according to Kabuto, the Kaguya clan was whipped out by the nation of Kirigakure and Kimimaro was the last survivor (x), Orochimaru states that the clan never left behind the prototypical behaviour of the families during the Warring States Period (x) and when trying to go against a “well-governed body” that likely surpassed their numbers, they found their demise. It’s unclear why they went against Kiri, albeit it wouldn’t be strange if it was a response against the Kekkei Genkai cleansing.

Kimimaro’s death is all the more tragic when we learn he thought Orochimaru will keep him alive by remembering him and having him in his heart (x), yet that turns out to be a wish he will not have, as Orochimaru doesn’t care for him (x). Later on, it’s Juugo the one who keeps his memory alive, as he follows Sasuke when he becomes a cage for him, reminding him of Kimimaro.

316) Continuing from point 314. Tsunade did send reinforcements when she asked for the Sand siblings (x) and they were able to reach all of them in time to save them: Kiba, Shikamaru, and Lee did not win against the Sound ninja, rather, they lost and were saved by the siblings; and while them three are particularly strong as all of them reached the third stage of the Chünin Exams, while the rest of the Konoha Gënin didn’t, why rely on someone at least three days away?

317) “I owe Konoha a great debt.” (x) Considering Shinobis’ nationalistic mindset and how the individuals are linked to their village of provenance it’s not strange that Gaara associates the place of origin of the one that actually saved him to Naruto himself, so by helping Konoha, he helps Naruto by direct association. He likely ignores the fact that hadn’t been for Hashirama, he wouldn’t have become Shukaku’s jinchuuriki, as it was Konoha’s first Hokage the one that decided to cage the tailed beasts inside vessels to distribute their power amongst the newly formed ninja villages.

Temari admits that her actions during the invasion (and her actions now) weren’t of her choosing nor personal preference, as she was/is simply “following orders” (x). It’s established that shinobi do not compromise their moral parameters when performing a mission, as they simply justify their conduct by establishing another person in a higher rank or the structure in place as directly responsible for everything they do; in the same manner, these principles are never to compromise the village’s political gain and military power, so they either morph to fit Konoha’s, get repressed as to them not interfering with the mission at hand, or grow to become a direct opposition to the village’s.

Gaara’s sentence about “how sad it is” that Orochimaru brainwashed Kimimaro (x) is paradoxical considering how his devotion to the Sannin is no different from his devotion to Naruto, Suna, or even Konoha. He gloats about how an entire kin will cease to exist as he’ll kill the last member in lieu of the mission he was given; Kimimaro dying regardless as a consequence of his disease (x, x) –and he did as they admitted they won by mere luck, does not modify Gaara’s overall antithetical behavior as he did not eliminate nor reduced his manners but rather he modified his violent conduct to be in favour of his village and those he considers allies (x) while Naruto, on the other hand, refuses to use killing force.

318) Temari has a summon: a kamaitachi (x) –The kamaitachi, translated from Japanese as the sickle stoat; is a Yōkai from Japanese folklore with a mustelid-like appearance and extraordinary speed. "Kama" is a kind of Japanese sickle, also used with some modifications as a weapon by the peasants of the time. Itachi means weasel. He is always armed with a sickle or according to other versions of such shaped claws, occasionally inflicted cuts or scratches on people for no reason.

Summoning: Quick Beheading Dance (Kuchiyose: Kirikiri Mai)

Ninjutsu, B-rank, Offensive, All ranges User(s): Temari

Roaring whirlwind!! The rampaging and slashing dance of the Kamaitachi!!

Temari of Sunagakure controls the wind with a massive fan!! She whips up a tempest, and summons a Kamaitachi that rides the winds slashing through everything it touches!! The effects of the jutsu stretch outwards for several hundred metres. The swirling winds also whip up the mowed-down trees and boulders which rain down on the helpless enemy!! Good Morning! ☕

I have a problem (or maybe i'm the problem 😂) with AMM. Maybe someone has the same problem or knows how to fix it/ what i'm doing wrong.

I installed two custom pose packs (Classic Art and Hanging Out) and i can't scroll through all the poses.

The Classic Art pack is supposed to have 20 poses according to Nexus, but i only can scroll until the 17th (while the 17th is that tiny bar, that you can barely see). I also had this with the regular poses but clickin "Auto Rezizing Window" under "User Interface" seems to fix that at least. I had yesterday the feeling that this problem also appeared with custom props, but today everything seems normal there again. I use the neweset AMM and the next-to-last (i think) CET. I'm also still on game version 1.61, so i also didn't update all the other main mods (maybe that's the problem?).

i don't think i've ever posted my tav Vierlin here but here's some "art" (i am a writer not an artist i tried my best lol) and background about her!

tl;dr she's an enchantment wizard, originally from menzoberranzan but got into religious trouble and had to very quickly run off to athkatla to teach/tutor. galemancer because gale is into dominant women with issues, and the "wizard on wizard is hot" fic about them is right here.

Gale absolutely gets something [sexual] out of the way she very easily takes the lead because it's what she knows and prefers, so. it's not even A Question how she wants to dominate him, it's the natural order of things to her. the way she wants him is at her mercy. clearly theres something sexy about that. (especially since, again, Gale just does not seem the type super into Normal Sex and even though weird bdsm enchantment-flavored wizard sex with Vierlin is definitely more normal than whatever he did with Mystra, it's still totally weird).

ive talked about my love of wizard/wizard w Gale before, but I love him insulting her wizarding education and he's not even like. intentionally trying to be an asshole (that's not how Gale is). however he is absolutely being an asshole, in the way he is to sorcerers and other magic users lol. he asks about her magic background and she talks about the structure of magic education in menzoberranzan and his reaction is 1) finding it interesting, and 2) oh but it's no blackstaff. oh you don't even learn basic abjuration. oh the class sizes are too big for students to truly learn enough. etc. she has the equivalent of like... wizard undergrad but never "finishes" her "degree" until post-game at a school in athkatla (where she is also an enchantment tutor to the worst upper-class brats in the city, for money).

gale is condescendingly giving her advice on her thesis but the advice is actually helpful, it's just presented in the most mansplaining way possible. but he also genuinely appreciates it and bc the thing she studies is about psychic harm and developing mental control spells that are harder to detect the usage of/(idk, that would require a higher DC to successfully detect/notice you are being enchanted? ill have to rotate it in my head a bit more) and despite this being a very Don't Create The Torment Nexus thing to study he's like oh it's ok. we need people who are brave enough not to let the moralizing administrators stop them from pushing forward all of the frontiers of magic. and, of course, he's a little horny about it because it's so sinister lmao. he's like "hm. you just see the ethics committee as a roadblock huh" (insult that is secretly a compliment) and she's like "yea" (knows he means it Like That). <3

Before Gavin can give a sharp reply, Greylock rises and flails with his hooves. The rider loses his grip and comically slowly slides down the Batuu-hoof's back.

When Greylock comes to his senses again, he seems to be sorry for having freaked out.

Gavin tells the horse that he's putting up with this nonsense for fourteen years now.

Gavin: "At first it was kinda cute to have a force sensitive surrogate brother. Back when Connor only levitated stuff. But now that he's coming into his full power, the weirdness factor has ramped up to eleven and counting.

I may have to put Connor down sooner or later. Although I’d preferred to wait until my parents get released... if they are even still alive, that is. Last I heard was they’d gotten transferred to Mua Pel’am, where the work is lighter, but that one is run by a people eating monstrous flower. No, I’m not joking.

At the very least I had hoped for my own powers to awaken before I have to challenge Connor. That face of his when he realizes which of us is the more powerful force user will be priceless!

But then there’s Hank. I don’t think he’ll ever be ready to let his precious son go, no matter how unhinged Con’ turns out.

Can you even apprecciate how difficult life is when the fate of a whole planet rests in your shoulders? Nah, of course not. Lucky bugger, you!"

in case you have the same issue as me with the new update of skyrim. i tried to downgrade but it would immediately crash. well, here is the answer:

download the following mods to downgrade:

- the downgrade patcher (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/57618?tab=files)

-> just choose the version you want to go back to. it‘s an exe file that will do the hard work for you. you can do it manually, but it‘s faster and easier with the patcher

- Backported Extended ESL Support (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/106441)

-> this mod will fix the crash that happens even before the main menu. the issue is that bethesda included a file that is incompatible with the previous versions of skyrim. that causes the game to crash if you downgrade. the downgrade can‘t remove the file. this mod makes older skyrim versions compatible with it.

i finally managed to get my game running again, thanks to amazing mod authors and support from reddit and nexus users. thought i‘d share, just in case it might help someone

Cause unless its common knowledge...um.....then it's a little worrying the Dragon Guard didn't *ahem* take steps to make sure the humans wouldn't find it....

Then again, all but 2 of them fled, so they weren't smart anyway.....

The runes are more of a user's manual than a signpost. They're ancient even for elven readers. I doubt there are any humans alive who can read them without scholarly Xadian assistance.

The steps to guard the mirror were taken three centuries ago, before there was a Dragonguard or an egg to guard yet. Back then, the defenders of Xadia agreed that letting the most powerful archdragon in the world guard the mirror atop the Nexus of his primal source seemed like a relatively strong defense against interference with Aaravos's prison - by anyone, human, elf, or dragon. And times change slowly when there's a dragon in charge of the clock.

Mandalorian Season 3 will fail. Here's a few reasons why

1. Baby Yoda

The series is about The Mandalorian (Din Djarin) on a quest that ultimately appears like it will result in the unification of Mandalore, the restoration of his people's honor, and with Din Djarin becoming a political and social nexus for his people. All of this is great stuff, but we have had two seasons in which Baby Yoda- Grogu- has been the center of the plot. This is why it was crucial to write him out at the end of Season 2, so that the show could actually be about Din Djarin. Yet in Book Of Boba Fett, they retconned Grogu being written out, and proceeded to give Din Djarin a new ship. This creates two problems. I have already alluded to the first: Grogu will distract from the plot yet again. But also, it will require people to have seen Book Of Boba Fett to understand Season 3, and BoBF was a failure for Disney. As much as I liked it, most people seemed not to, and building a show- especially an already successful show- on an unstable foundation is never a good idea. They should never have made major changes to The Mandalorian in another show

2. Moff Gideon

Moff Gideon was rumored to be an antagonist for Rangers Of The New Republic, a show that has been indefinitely cancelled due to the unjust cancellation of Gina Carano. That being said, Moff Gideon and his grand plan that was built on over two seasons of The Mandalorian is now a loose thread, and I have no doubt he will make some kind of return for Season 3. He was a vital part of the Purge of Mandalore, he was the previous wielder of the Darksaber, he has been a great villain for Din Djarin, and he really has nowhere else to go. It makes no sense for Disney to just sweep all that under the rug, even with the major consequences that will come of it. Moff Gideon, at the end of the day, was a better foil to Cara Dune, and without her, he is ultimately meaningless. I think people kinda took this for granted, but the first confrontation between Djarin and Gideon was with Cara Dune present. Dune and Gideon are on opposite political sides of a war between the Republic and the Empire, Gideon is a strategist and a politician while Dune is essentially a ground trooper and scoundrel. They have a vested hatred for what the other stands for, too. That was why it was so perfect for him to be Dune's villain in RotNR. And mark my words, when he appears in Season 3 with a lousy excuse (probably involving killing Dune off-screen), he will feel like a shallow villain who doesn't belong

3. Din Djarin himself

Din Djarin, at this point, is the most powerful non-Force-wielder on-screen. He has blaster-proof armor, he wields the most powerful lightsaber in canon, he has Whistling Birds which can identify targets, lock on, and instantly kill them, he has a jetpack, and he has proven to be difficult to undermine. Each season, he grows stronger, and he has a confirmed Season 4 and a rumored Season 5. But will we really get that far? Right now his only weakness is his pride and stubbornness, but we see that melt with every episode. By the end of Season 3, that one weakness will be gone, and then the only way that they can make a struggle feel real is if they send Force-users after him, like the Knights of Ren. At the end of the day, his strength is the show's greatest weakness

Conclusion

Disney is pushing itself back into a corner. The Mandalorian is doomed. It can't keep one-upping itself, it can't repeat the same formula. It needs something new and enticing, and when they don't deliver...well, we'll just have to wait and see if brand loyalty holds up. The Last Jedi, The Rise of Skywalker, Kenobi...some of the most anticipated Star Wars projects of all time have amounted to nothing. No legacy. No salvation. The Mandalorian is next

I believe by the time Mandalorian Season 3 concludes, Andor and Ashoka will be the last two major pillars holding up the franchise

What can we do about it?

Actually, a lot. There are a few shows that have kept the fandom going for many, many, many years: The Clone Wars and Rebels. These two are more important to Star Wars than ever before. And two shows have/had the exact same potential: The Bad Batch and Resistance, at least until fans chose not to pay attention. And Visions, despite being a small project, was a huge success. Animation is the future of Star Wars. It's our last hope in this vast galaxy of despair. So if you haven't seen the above shows yet, I strongly encourage you give them a shot and see what Star Wars is capable of. Rebels, Resistance, Bad Batch, Visions, and at least some of Clone Wars were all made by Disney, and it's the most consistently good content out there, and Disney knows this. They constantly leak content from the shows into live action. They just don't highlight it because they don't get as much attention- from us and from them- to warrant holding up the weight of the franchise. By spreading awareness for these shows and getting as many people to watch as possible, the watch time could skyrocket, and show Disney that we care about these shows. We care about animated Star Wars content. It should NOT be swept under the rug. That being said-

PC Starfield Tweaking Guide — Mods and Tweaks

After receiving positive reviews, Bethesda Game Studios’ new RPG debuted on Steam with 245K concurrent users today, including owners of the $100 Starfield Premium Edition until September 6th.

BGS games have always inspired PC modders, and Starfield is no exception. Even though the official modding tools won’t be published for a few months, the community has come up with several changes and proto-mods to improve the experience. We’ve included the most significant community improvements below.

performance

Starfield doesn’t stutter like other current PC games, but its nature makes it hefty. Thus, performance optimisation should be sought wherever possible.

We haven’t verified reports that manually activating Resizable BAR for NVIDIA GeForce GPUs improves performance. This is the overall method if you want to attempt.

Bulwarkhd created a Performance Texture Pack to reduce VRAM usage by lowering the typical texture resolution from 2K to 1K or even 0.5K for those with a configuration near the minimal requirements.

In a recent post, Nexus Mods user Erok posted optimised graphic preset.ini files for Low, Medium, High, and Ultra to boost PC frames.

Starfield’s visuals are enhanced by Bethesda’s newest Creation Engine, which the makers claim is the most advanced technology in their game. The most notable changes from Bethesda games are the animations and Global Illumination lighting.

Visuals

There are methods to improve the visuals even at this early stage of its public release. Many players noted the yellow/green tinge and high black levels first. Both may be part of the developer’s creative vision, but the gamma cannot be changed in-game.

The settings usually darken evenings. Depending on the ReShade setting, performance may drop by 5% or 10%. You may always use the ReShade option to deactivate shaders unrelated to colour fixes if you like.

Epiphany Absolute is developing the first Starfield HD Texture Pack mod. The author revealed that AI upscalers are doubling texture resolution from 2K to 4K. Of course, this effort is ongoing. Currently available upscaled textures: Aquatic, bladed, flowers, forest, rocks.

Epiphany Absolute posted another ship HD Texture Pack mod a few hours ago. The installation is identical. Remember that only Discovery, Hopetech, Pirate, Ship Common, and Starborn have been revised.

Gameplay

While playing Starfield, I realised that stealth is more harder than in prior Bethesda games. The devs may have overtuned NPCs”senses’

Thanks to two modifications, they may be adjusted. Zzyxzz’s ‘Better Out of Line of Sight Sneaking’ reduces foes’ hearing accuracy when you’re hiding behind obstructions. According to the creator, the game’s default setting is 0.4, but the mod lowers it to 0.33 like earlier BGS games.

Also, transfer SneakSoundLosMult.txt from the mod to the Starfield folder.

Gameplay Tweaks and Fixes by Ixion XVII reduces NPC view cone detection (from 190 to 170) and opponent visibility in exteriors (by 5%) in Starfield.

It functions similarly to the previous mod. StarfieldCustom.ini’s [General] section needs the following command:

Zzyxzz, who made the first mod in this area, also released a Less Spongy Enemies mod that decreases NPCs’ health gain when they level up. The default amount is 20, but this mod may change it to 15, 10, 5, or 0.

Quality of Life

Starfield, like other BGS games, is complicated. Sometimes that shows in the User Interface or other ways the game may be more accessible or responsive. Quality-of-life changes will aim to solve it.

First, how to enter the game faster. The ‘Undelayed Launching’ mod by Seb263 skips the Bethesda logo and health warning messages by tweaking StarfieldCustom.ini and adding a new file.

Increase the spaceship’s Field of View optionally. Again, adjust the value to your liking.

Want a more immersive interface? You need franchfroise’s ‘Immersive Tactical Hud’ mod. It eliminates opponent health bars, names, hip-fire crosshairs, compresses crosshairs and the level-up indication, changes the experience bar, and improves hit marks and crit notifications. Installation is same to above.

However, Stentorious’ Simple Compact Inventory adds 12 displayed items and an optional file to organise goods by Value:Mass ratio.

TomLikesGuitar added this option and a beneficial Value:Weight ratio sorting mod.

In both circumstances, extract the Data files into the main Starfield folder and check StarfieldCustom.ini:

Last but not least, McGuffin’s IconSortingTags adds additional icons to Starfield’s inventory and loot window to help players see what they have. Same installation process as above.
