I've never written a blog before, so this is gonna be kinda shaky. So, apologies for that.

How about let's cut to the chase, shall we?

There's been a surge of abnormal activity regarding an entity or a string of entities or something. I'm trying to keep track of it, figure out its modus operandi, what it wants and how it's trying to achieve that. I've never seen it happen up close, but I've heard of some cases and have met people who have experienced it. So I'll be collecting their stories and posting them here like some Jonathan Sims collecting statements (except thankfully, I won't be feeding on these stories. Haha.)

Note that I said "an entity or a string of entities." That's because some of these cases vary so widely in their phenomenon that it could be believed that each occurrence is a completely different being. As if there are multiple forces running amuck in the victims' houses and on their computers. I, personally, think there is just one entity, solely because of the running thread between the cases: tic-tac-toe, otherwise known as Naughts and Crosses. (You may have noticed the pun in the blog title. I'm unraveling the knots about Naughts. Haha... That's pretty bad.)

So here I go, collecting and sharing, occasionally adding my analysis. Unless you're tired of my voice and would just like the stories to speak for themselves. In that case, so let it be.

Sex Repulsion is not the same thing as, or an excuse for, Sex Negativity

I am a sex-repulsed asexual. This means that I am uncomfortable and repulsed by the idea of engaging in sexual acts. This does not mean that I have an excuse to be repulsed by other people's sexual attraction or the right to police how other people engage in or express sexual acts or attraction.

Young queer people need to learn the difference between sex repulsion and sex negativity, and actively work to unlearn sex-negative attitudes. Asexuality, even sex-repulsed asexuality, is and should be fully compatible with sex positivity.

If you are uncomfortable with the idea of other people feeling sexual attraction or engaging in sexual acts that do not involve you in any way, that is not sex repulsion it is the cultural Christianity and you need to seriously work on that.

A Master Study featuring Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. In which Link hangs out with the two Zeldas post-game (Who do you think became the Queen of Hyrule?)

This was a difficult piece, but I'm happy with it!

Based on 'The Chess Players' by Jacques-Clément Wagrez (1902)

Information on inspiration and process under the cut!

Original piece: "The Chess Players" by Jacques-Clément Wagrez (1846-1908).

The moment I saw this artwork I immediately thought of Zelda II. One of the women is wearing a medieval-esque red velvet dress, and she looks a lot like the design I made for the cursed princess Zelda!

I thought it would be very fitting to reimagine this artwork in a Zelda II context, so I went ahead with it! doubles as a master study and LoZ fanart.

I learnt a LOT from making this piece! Since I worked on it digitally, I got and made brushes that acted as close to traditional brushes, and I also worked on the entire piece in one layer. So whenever I made a mistake, I'd have to paint over. No return. But it was a big learning experience! Learnt more about rendering silk and velvet by observing how they are painted and blended in the original.

Here are some WIP shots! It took a long time to get to where it is now xD It was difficult to finally pen down the right proportions and placement. I probably should've done a grid copy, but I opted to just eyeing it out all the way through. It was... hard. (lesson learnt?)

I read that in a lot of older pieces, they are made in greyscale, then flat colours are overlaid on top. makes rendering much easier. and it truly has! I probably should’ve rendered the greyscale version even more. Since there were still a lot of mistakes that I had to rework and adjust while colouring.

Very fruitful experience overall, and I’m just happy to make a grand-scale Zelda II artwork xD I’ve never seen one so I made it!!!

I have seen exactly 1 episode of Blue Eye Samurai and I am gobsmacked by how amazing it is. Mizu is already my everything. I am almost never so deeply invested so quickly in any media. I am obsessed. If the rest of the show is consistent in quality with the first episode then this show is Arcane level incredible, and I do not say that lightly.

Why is there a seperate character for the root of evil?

If there was no war in heaven how did the other habitants of hell ( the other princes, the goetia, imps and succubi ) exist?

Why is there no punishment?

Why is there literally only two guests in the hotel to rehabilitate themselves??

Why do people (humans) ‘worship’ Adam?

Where is god?? Where is the man who literally created the universe the cast exists in??

Also — how is Charlie meant to redeem people that aren’t suffering? Sure sinners are exterminated — but her actual ‘people’ that are hellborn aren’t. So what’s the point of going to war? It’s not like sinners can add much to the politics , economy or system of hell - they can’t even leave the pride ring?? Also non of the demons actually torture sinners so like??????

Oh also, last one I swear,

Why does Lucifer let Alastor talk shit TO HIS FACE? He’s the prince of pride, king of hell ect. Alastor is only more powerful then the average sinner, he’s not more powerful then demon royalty. And it’s not like he couldn’t support the hotel instead of Alastor?

"because its hell" doesn't hold up.

When you create a setting from scratch, you have total control over it. You get to make the rules. You can't excuse a flaw in writing or presentation with "it is hell, it has to be this way!"

Here is one paraphrased example from Hazbin Hotel I've heard recently in response to a critique of calling the main characters too reliant on pinks/reds:

"All the characters have red in their color schemes because they are from the Pride ring and the rings are color coordinated."

While this gives an in-character/in-lore explanation for the color schemes, what it doesn't do is change the fact Hazbin Hotel's characters having a hard time standing out from the background. An in-character/in-lore justification should NOT be prioritized over the overall quality of a project.

As a writer, you have control over the constraints of your story. If you write yourself into a corner, you can't just throw up your hands and give up. You have to be willing to rework your lore and stories to make them stronger.

If excessive cursing is grating and making certain moments within your story less impactful, you should reel it in because it makes the presentation stronger. If your color based lore is causing the visuals of your project to suffer, it is time to reassess the lore.

Just because something is logically consistent within a world, doesn't make it a good writing/art choice.

A setting's rules should serve stories and characters, not the other way around.

The messages keep coming. The stories are here. It's just a matter of sorting through them and trying to assemble them in some sort of way that makes sense. Honestly, some of the stories are nearly incomprehensible. But I'll try to get them out to you when I can.

Also...something's going on...I don't really know what it is. There's a noise. At my window.

Maybe I'm just hearing things. Looking through all these stories can't possibly be good for my mental health.

Angel's allowed to be comfortable in his own body. He's portrayed in a sexy way because that's how he presents himself and wants to without Valentino breathing down his neck.
