i always see so much of Nico ships where either Nico is the one pining or the focus is almost completely on Nico pining and i feel like we’re missing a lot of opportunity here. Where’s the inverse? Where’s the POVs from [other character(s) of ship] of them falling hard for Nico and just absolutely losing their mind pining over him because he’s so impossible to read that they can’t tell at all if he likes them back or not. Them doing some complicated social dance cause they cannot for the LIFE of them figure out Nico but they’re trying so hard until they finally just tell him outright and find out Nico has liked them back this entire time and they lose their mind just a little bit more. WHERE IS IT.

Idk why im reading slang discourse on esl subreddits but as a native English speaker, it is perfectly acceptable to use informal English in "official" communication (work, education) if whoever is higher up does it. In English culture specifically, *not* mirroring informality can be seen as quite arrogant and standoff-ish, which is worse than appearing a bit unproffesional. This is more true the more north/rural you go.
This might not apply in London, because Londoners arent people. Or in America, because america is weird.

Inspired by this comment by @louff4tw :
Dick loves to take his siblings clothes shopping. He is stylish. But Bruce... Bruce he... Tries his best, but his best is socks and sandals...
On the other hand, when it comes to suits he does a full 180. He knows what's in season, and what suit type looks best for what even and what colour and what cufflinks and pocket squares and that whole thing.
So whenever any one of his kids need a new suit he is so desperate to take them shopping for a new one so he can spend time with them. He loves taking his kids suit shopping.

Is Luz openly human in the princess AU? Like does Gus have to deal with having a massive interest in the human realm while it also being public knowledge the next person in line for the throne is human?
scream omg. i honestly haven't given enough thought to what exactly willow and gus are up to (or eda and king, for that matter) - there are a bunch of plot holes and fudgy timeline things happening all over the place, so i don't wanna say definitively what gus is doing when i'll almost certainly contradict it later
THAT SAID. one of the things i've had to consider is how luz is presented to the rest of the world. if she's stealth human like belos, if she's masked like hunter, etc. and the conclusion i came to was that belos wouldn't hide (and would in fact ~*~celebrate~*~) luz's humanity. because he's now in a position of power where he can get away with saying "the titan brought her here to save you all from your wicked ways :)" and Not get the shit beat out of him for it.
luz didn't know that belos is human until she was sixteen though, he told her alongside all the Other Bad Shit. so she grew up feeling like kind of an odd duck. with a whole royal chosen one prophecy attached. no pressure!
i am INTENSELY fond of the mental image of gus just vibrating at all times about the human princess, though, i think that is So Funny. parasocial relationships are nothing new for luz but i think most people she meets are more interested in her royal status than her human one. (or at least interested in both equally.) so if she Did meet gus, she'd be kinda bemused and fascinated that Anyone thinks her humanness is special. bc she mostly views it as a vexing disability.

If you want insight into the extent of my control problems when my boss announces in the morning that a VP is treating the marketing department to lunch for our hard work I feel more annoyed than excited that an aspect of my day was decided for me

kinda sucks how so many people get up in their feelings when they hear the word “trope” nowadays as a person who just really likes narrative media analysis. i have to like carefully word myself with “recurring concepts” and “common story elements” lest someone goes off because they think the very concept of tropes is Horrible because they hate fanfiction or whatever (sorry buddy tropes are like archetypes and genre conventions its a relatively neutral term to describe patterns in storytelling ur gonna have trouble avoiding them (although what the marketing machine has done to the word is pretty awful but thats just because advertising is evil) and also relax i think fanfiction is fine) OR someone who’s really deep in the fanfiction world but embarassed that someone said the word “trope” out loud will freak out (unfortunately I don’t read very much fanfiction because i tend to prefer original fiction so i dont really know what you’re talking about but please have more confidence in your hobbies i know you work very hard) and in the end im just sitting there like. alright. can i go back to talking about common character archetypes in early 2000s shoujo manga now
