I love the friendships in the owl house so much
I especially love the purveying message the owl house has of like--- not everyone is gonna get you, but someday you'll find people who do, and you'll form powerful bonds that will change your life for the absolute better
Everyone in the owl house grew up with little to no friends and over the course of their lives made friends so close they're family
It's extremely realistic to not just growing up, but growing up weird
Stay weird kids, you'll find your brood someday
I did

Fuck Me! - Rebecca Welton/Reader
Rebecca Welton/Female Reader
Summary: Rebecca knows she is working too much and for the first time in weeks has a free morning with her daughter, Lowie.
Classification: Light Angst, Domestic Fluff
Warnings: None
Word count: +2700
Tumblr media
Unrevised
The blonde looked down at her hands, admiring the work done on the rounded nails painted in an impeccable French line, gleaming against the illumination. And then to the little girl in her front staring expectantly at her, among them a dozen colorful children's nail polishes, some with glitter. She raises an eyebrow analyzing the situation, the day before went to the manicure and hoped to keep it for at least a week. The work schedule consumes all her time, including the few free ones, she barely has time to be with family, much less for self-care as she organizes and prepares the club for the next matches of the soccer season. Rebecca sighs and thinks about what words she should use to refuse to let the child paint her nails.
"How about I paint yours?" she asks hoping that might divert Marlowe's attention.
" Alrighty then, I'll choose the colours ." the girl quickly runs to the corner of the playroom, reaching for a colorful decorated box with another dozen nail polishes, some fun stickers too "And I want them all."
"Lowie..."
"Mummy..." they stare at each other for a few seconds until the woman sighs in defeat, she loves that her daughter has inherited part of her personality but that could be a problem "I want rainbow colours."
"That's going to be a lot of work, you're the most demanding customer I've ever had."
"Don't be silly, Mummy." Marlowe cracks a toothless smile and places both hands on the table, opening the little fingers so they can be painted "I am your only customer."
"Sometimes your Mama is my customer too." the blonde winks and gets a big smile from the little girl.
"And I'm always her customer, she paints my nails all the time, sometimes Mama puts stickers and all my friends love it." she nods towards the colorful cards with images of cartoons, flowers and small designs "It's okay if it doesn't look right."
Rebecca laughs at being reassured about her abilities by a five year old, she can't do wonderful designs or details like her own manicure does, but is sure she must know how to paint in the right spaces. It's something she and Sassy did together as youngsters, having perfect nails...almost all the time.
"I don't like orange. I want my favorite color." the woman brakes, immediately dropping the bottle in place. She realizes she doesn't know what color it is and a strange feeling makes stomach heavy, maybe guilt "Blue, Mummy. Like your team and Bluey."
"Oh yes, of course." she looks for the color among the nail polishes, finding it at the bottom of the box, no surprise having glitter, then looks at the tiny hands on the table, it's adorable how chubby they are and the little nails are smudged all around, so knows she overestimated her talent "Stickers?"
"Please."
They smile and soon the blonde has all her concentration on not smudging the other nails, making a funny face that unintentionally makes her daughter laugh watching. When finished she smiles happily, proud of herself for not getting it wrong this time. Then picks up the cards, placing them in front of the girl as if they really were at the manicure. All the nails are already painted, this is the final part.
"I didn't know they existed from Baby Shark." Rebecca comments analyzing the options.
"It's not sticker, it's tattoo." the surprised and confused expression stamped on her face makes the strawberry blonde laugh again, it's fun for her to see her mom, who knows everything, be lost "Can I do it on you? Please."
"Mummy has work later, so no, sweetheart."
"Okay." Marlowe whispers trying to keep a smile, even if she is disappointed.
Since the Premier League had started a few months ago and AFC Richmond came further than it ever has before, Welton found herself busier than usual, meetings almost every week, there are extensive training sessions and a hundred events she has to attend, many times having to participate in creating them. Sinking more and more into work to the point of hardly seeing the family, leaving too early to say good morning and too late for good night, most of the time finding her wife already asleep, clearly trying to stay awake for her arrival, and her daughter drooling against the pillows. It's a cute and funny image she has when giving Marlowe a goodnight kiss on forehead. And no surprise either because she has been a good sleeper since baby, arms and legs everywhere, good hours of sleep and sometimes even snores.
"And why are you home today?" she finally asks, when woke up this morning, the only free one in weeks, she thought she was going to spend with her wife, have breakfast and take Lowie to kindergarten together, then something else, instead she was woken up late by the child jumping on the bed and a note from Y/N letting them know she had some appointment.
"I was sick, I can't go to school until tomorrow. The doctor said it's something with V, but I can't remember what."
"Virosis?" Rebecca chokes on her own saliva, at breakfast they shared a cup of tea without her having any idea that the girl was sick, which bothers her too, as a mother she is aware that should know about things like that.
"Yes!"
"Fuck me!"
"Yeah! Fuck me!"
"Marlowe Amelia Welton! Watch your mouth!" she scolds, knowing she would be screwed if Y/N heard that, one of the agreements they made about motherhood is to avoid swearing around her.
"You said first! It's a good thing, Mummy." the woman widens eyes and sips the glass of water trying to wet dry throat, pure nervousness "That's what you and Mama say when you are in the room and you look happy." and then spits out the whole contents "And the next day I get candy."
"Oh..." of course, they agreed it would be avoidance around her, but they forgot how loud can be in intimate moments and always counted with the heavy sleep of their daughter sleeping in the next room "It wasn't... but how can that be good now?" she tried to change the subject, it would be too hard to explain.
"Aren't you happy that I'm sick? That way we can stay home together." Marlowe smiles and blows her nails to dry them faster, a cute little pout "So today I am happy."
"But you see me at the matches, sweetheart."
"It's not the same, everyone has you there, sometimes I want to have you all to me, Mummy. When you are home we can watch movies, play and paint, I like when you tell me bedtime stories, sleep by my side and hold me when I am sad. I want you to stay here forever, with me. And with Mama too. Because it's more special."
The sad and sincere childish words make Rebecca's stomach sink, heart palpitate harder and eyes burn trying to hold back tears, she imagined that Lowie, her little and lovable Lowie, missed her, but hear it from her is something different. It's painful. She realizes how much the little girl appreciates and values the moments they spend together, how much her presence means.
"And you are sad now?"
"No, because we are together." Rebecca smiles sadly, trying to hold back the tears and failing, her daughter notices, then faces her worriedly "Mummy, are you sad?" Marlowe doesn't wait for an answer, running out of the chair and around the table to hug her mom, little arms around waist, little face pressed to hip and the blonde's hands caress the little girl's back.
"It's okay, baby. I'm fine." as she is about to let go the woman holds her against her own body and leaves a kiss in hair, inhaling the sweet smell of shampoo "But I still want your hug. The best hug in the world. I love you, sweetheart."
"I love you more, Mummy. And I know, Mama says it all the time. I'm all perfect, from the tip of my toe to the last strand of my hair."
"Cocky, isn't you?!"
"I don't know what it means."
"Means you're really perfect." the childish giggle soon takes over as Rebecca takes advantage of the low guard and tickles her armpits, grabbing her on lap to do it on her tummy as well.
"I... I ... I surrender, Mummy!" she manages to say between giggles, those are the magic words they use every time playing with each other.
"Oops, your nails got smudged." Rebecca points to the colorful nails, polish all over her fingers, a total mess.
"It's okay, it was already smudged." is the only response from the little girl who gets off her mother's lap, knowing she would be caught up again, little legs running to the kitchen counter, where she stops remembering something ""Mummy, I have to get ready for the day."
"You're staying home today."
"But I like to get ready, come on."
"Right, sweetheart."
Marlowe's room, which once was white and in tones of pink, is now totally colorful, the walls are filled with drawings, teddy bears and art materials, she also has a large closet, where besides clothes and shoes a great collection of hair bows is kept. Years ago, when she found out that they were going to have a little girl, Rebecca bought the first bow as if she predicted that their daughter would be in love with the accessory, and almost cried with emotion when she carried her out of the maternity ward wearing it. Then the first tufts of hair appeared, surprising little blonde curls in a reddish hue, and came a hundred bows, hair clips, headbands and ribbons. Now strawberry blonde hair reaches the middle of her back, bangs cut perfectly straight and ends wavy, the woman absolutely loves brushing and styling for events. Like weeks ago at an AFC Richmond home match, she did high pigtails, decorated with blue and red hair ribbons, one color on each side.
"Thank you, Mummy!" Marlowe appreciates looking at herself in the mirror, loving the multi-colored bow at the end of a braid, so she turns to the accessory box looking for something "For you to look like me." and puts a rainbow clip in her mom's hair, followed by another, unicorn this time "We look beautiful."
"Yes, we are, sweetheart." the Welton's stare at each other for a second before the woman kisses her daughter's head.
Rebecca gets up from the floor and grabs her phone from the dresser, without any surprise it's already full of text messages, a missed call, a reminder about the afternoon meeting and a text from her wife.
"Hi, love! Some unexpected things happened at the meeting, Keeley volunteered to babysit Lowie in the afternoon. Please check her purse when she arrives, last time they almost overdosed on Fini, apparently our daughter inherited your taste for sweet."
She smiles reading the text, of course the girl has inherited it, she is a small version of her, but almost redhead, bright green eyes, defined lips and nose, not just physically, they share many personality traits and tastes. Marlowe runs across the room and throws herself against her, gripping the long legs tightly and the legs curl together like a baby monkey.
"Was nice having you with me, Mummy." the blonde faces her in confusion and takes her in lap, noticing the sad expression on the childish face "It's okay to go away."
"Sweetheart, I don't...'"
"You're on your phone, whenever you're on your phone you have work to do." Rebecca wastes no time in hugging her, pressing the little body against herself and strokes back, calming the imminent cry "It's okay."
"Lowie, that was Mama, she's going to be late and..." the child faces her expectantly "We, you and I, are staying together. What do you think about watching that cartoon you like?"
"Bluey?! And can we have Fini? And there's chocolate pudding in the fridge." Marlowe quickly gets excited, jumping for joy at the idea of them spending more time together.
"Well, we need to talk about sugar, young lady." Rebecca laughs leaving her on the floor again, giving a gentle pat on the head "But later, now you can grab some treats from the drawer." and winks at her little partner in crime.
Marlowe nods positively and runs down the hallways disappearing from the woman's field of vision, soon she hears the sound of the drawer. In one phone call and a few text messages all the rest of the day's appointments are cleared, giving her a totally free schedule. She also tells Keeley that she doesn't need to come. The phone is put on silent mode and kept in the pocket of her pants. Nothing will get in the way.
"Lowie, what do you think about painting Mummy's nails? Any color you want. And I want a tattoo too."
It's almost 6pm when the sound of keys in the door wakes Rebecca from a nap, she settles down on the couch carefully, not wanting to wake her daughter lying on her lap. The two of them simply fell asleep after about 15 episodes, all chocolate pudding and a few packs of Fini. She tries to pull herself up and out of Marlowe's embrace, failing miserably at that mission as the girl cuddles even tighter into her, snoring lightly against her chest. In less than a minute Y/N appears in the living room, carrying a dozen different bags and a sweet smile on lips as she finds the cute scene.
"Hi, my love!" she whispers excitedly and crouches down to leave a soft kiss on her wife's lips, then on the child's forehead "I thought you had a super important meeting today."
"It's been rescheduled, as has the rest of my schedule." Rebecca smiles and pulls the youngest to herself, making her sit on the corner of the couch with them, bags on the floor "And what were you doing?"
"I had parents meeting for a sporting event at school, in the afternoon, well, I went shopping." she laughs shyly as confesses her activities "Lowie had a growth spurt, so I had to buy new clothes and uniform, she barely fits into pajamas."
"What did you expect having the baby of a 5 foot 11 woman?! When I was her age the same thing happened. And I noticed there was something different." and indeed she did, a little of her tummy showing when putting on a blouse and the pants bars reached the ankle, plus now Marlowe is at her waist height "I see you went to the hairdresser and manicure too."
"Damn, I thought you wouldn't notice."
"You deserve that time to yourself, you are living like a full-time solo mom. I'm sorry I'm not here for you." the blonde says with guilt in her voice and strokes her wife's hair, pulling her into a gentle kiss "And you look fucking gorgeous and sexy." she whispers low as possible, especially after learning that her daughter's sleep doesn't stop her from having good hearing.
"That's okay, my love. But I confess I can't wait for Premier League to finish soon. Looks like you had some time to yourself too, with Lowie. Pretty nails, Welton." really pretty, painted in various colors, some with fun stickers. Strong arms are covered with temporary tattoos of various cartoons, the girl has convinced her to do more and more with puppy dog eyes. Her usually perfect hair is a mess with those same clips and a few more. Not even her face escaped, colored eyeshadow and blurry pink lipstick befitting childish abilities "We have a girly girl in our home."
"A persuasive girly, she's so talkative. And a mini me." Rebecca says proudly and the girl seems to sense that they are talking about her, at the same time wakes up "Hello, sleepyhead."
"Mummy.... Mama!" she practically screams and throws herself into Y/N's arms, not realizing she kneed the taller one, who just hisses in pain and holds up a curse "Oh! Fuck me! Your hair looks beautiful, you're cocky, just like me." Marlowe says excitedly into the hug, squeezing her as hard as she can.
"What?" she looks at her wife with wide eyes, not believing what had just heard.
"Oops..."
"We'll talk about it later, Mrs. Welton."
And Rebecca knows she's fucked.

Bobby McKenzie as a Dad
Tumblr media
Omg this is one of my favorites! Bobby as a dad gives me brain rot. Fatherhood was meant for Bobby. I wanted to save him for last but I couldn’t wait. I finally finished this
Note: Please don’t attack me if we have differing opinions. Be respectful or don’t interact.
🧁 It was a rollercoaster ride for Bobby when his kids were born. He definitely tried to get the mom, nurses, and doctors to laugh while putting on the gown, gloves, mask, and wrapping a stethoscope around his neck. He may have tried to lighten the mood but inside he was a nervous wreck. Bobby’s a crier. He sobbed for each birth. Full on ugly crying.
🧁 Bobby wants a lot of kids, I’d say about 3-4, if not more than that. It doesn’t matter if they’re all girls, all boys, even number of both, odd number of both, he’s happy regardless. A baby around his chest, a toddler wrapped around his left leg, a seven year old putting icing on the fresh cupcakes out of the oven—that sort of chaos is Bobby’s bliss.
🧁 All of Bobby’s kids inherited his pretty freckles.
🧁 There’s no Bobby as a girl dad or a boy dad—he’s the same dad to all his kids: energetic, lovable, silly, and supportive. He’s just happy to be a dad. Period.
🧁 Bobby is the child-at-heart type of father. The type of father that loves to see his kids use their imagination, their creativity. The type of father that doesn’t see “weird” or “eccentric” kids. He sees children being children. He may be an adult, but his childlike sense of wonder and curiosity still flows through his veins.
🧁 Bobby’s eldest daughter’s named Paisley.
🧁 Chelsea designed the nurseries. Bobby helped a lot with ideas and quirks. They’re an amazing interior design team and Bobby thinks he may have a future in it if his bakery fails (it won’t).
🧁 Bobby has no problem at all checking on the baby during the night. He knows the drill. Even if he gets home late, even if he has to be up in three hours. He’s making sure his children are alright.
🧁 He named cupcakes after his children at his bakery.
🧁 Nap time isn’t just for kids in the McKenzie house. Bobby likes to join in because it gives him an excuse to watch cartoons and nap.
🧁 Bobby calls Gary a lot asking him for advice, telling him what curse word he taught his toddler to say, planning their next “dad’s day”, etc. They were best mates in the villa and it remained the same outside the villa. If they’re not texting, they’re FaceTiming.
🧁 You’re insane if you think each of his kids don’t get their own unique boops from him, complete with sounds.
🧁 Bobby makes all the kids’ lunches every day before school. Something different every day, too. Complete with a cupcake/cookie and a smiley face Post-It note from dad.
🧁 There’s always some kind of music playing in this house at all times, the genre varies from day to day.
🧁 Bobby sings “You Are My Sunshine” to his kids. With a guitar or without.
🧁 Bedtime stories are reserved only for Bobby. Sometimes he’ll read their favorite books, sometimes he makes the story up on the spot. But his favorite story to tell is “The Adventures of LongBob Cupcake.” He tells the kids that it’s based on true events.
🧁 The McKenzie’s (including his parents and sister) do go to Jamaica, once a year, to visit Bobby’s nan. Everyone looks forward to it.
🧁 Bobby never gets mad at his kids for throwing parties while he’s gone. All he cares about is the kitchen not getting trashed.
🧁 Bobby’s another loud and proud dad that attends every single activity for his kids. Definitely can hear him shouting over all the other dads, and he’s always front row center when taking videos. His social media accounts are flooded with his kids’ things.
🧁 Gary, Rahim, and Noah still hang out with Bobby. Bobby loves when everyone comes to visit because it gives him an excuse to bake and to try new recipes out on them. Gary eats anything, so really he tests the recipes on Rahim and Noah.
🧁 Bobby is the father that every kid dreams of having. He’s so loving, so accepting, so supportive of his children. He is never NOT proud of them.
There are so many Bobby pages on here that are amazing, but one in particular sticks out the most: @ravenadottir (currently on hiatus), and it can be found here. There’s all sorts of information/route guides/headcanons for Bobby. She even has an amazing fic for him as well (Paisley Cuddle is a must-read if you haven’t yet). 🖤

List of inspirations that I noticed in ✨️The Amazing Digital Circus✨️
an almost-essay (PART 1)
Tumblr media
When I watched the first episode for the first time I started to notice several similarities to other subjects that I also like and know, other fandoms and popular things on the internet, and I soon thought about sharing them on Tumblr (which I'm doing now).
I know there will be things that other people have noticed that will be missing from the blog, but I will try to include all the things that I remember recognizing at that moment. Feel free to share them, though!
I don't know the formal names of some things I'm gonna mention, and also my english It's not the best, I'm trying to practice my writing <3
I'll have to divide this blog into two parts because Tumblr doesn't support more than 10 images per blog. grrgrrgr I really wanted to put everything together but I can't. At the end of the blog I will put a link to part 2 and you can continue reading [when i finish the part 2 of course]
1 - Popee the Perfomer
Tumblr media
Popee the Performer is a low-budget animation made in 2000, at the time when 3d animation was still a new technology. It's a collection of shorts and they talk about three circus performers' interactions. People found this on the internet in 2021 and they started a new fandom on top of it. What makes this show talked about it's the disturbing situations the characters put themselves through. There are a lot of violent scenes and sometimes the characters die by the end of the episode, but when we go to the next one they're just alive again, and that makes us question if they are living stuck in an eternal loop with no way of getting out of that small circus setting.
The 3d is pretty simple, mostly because it's old, but that makes me think about the connections between PTP and TADG are the aesthetics, the whole "disturbing adult cartoon about serious topics with a children's colorful aesthetic" thing, and also those connections with the Nintendo 64 graphics. I'M GONNA MENTION IT TOO!!
And a part of this fandom also it's part of Raggedy Ann and Andy's fandom. They were pretty close in 2021.
2 - Raggedy Ann And Andy
Tumblr media
Ragatha, next one
I'm kidding there's more
Their fandom started around 2021 because the YouTube algorythm just decided that it was time to recommend a video about Raggedy Andy to EVERYONE! And that's how I discovered them too <3 (I WAS THEREEE I WAS THERE). Andy got the main focus and he was everyone's dream boyfriend lol
Also that's completely unrelated but I wanted to say that I'm one of the people whose video was recommended to everyone through YouTube algorythm and helped the fandom to grow even more (I'm so proud of myself guys I'm sorry awnqbehdjwndbwjdnh)
Tumblr media
I believe that if that first video that helped me (and more people) to discover them were never recommended to us, maybe Ragatha wouldn't even have that design!! It's alright that Ann is a doll from the 1900s, but the whole "Raggedy Ann And Andy" thing wasn't a fandom topic, they were just normal ragdolls and they were recognized only by grannies and "the anabelle doll" (this one makes me pissed)
3 - Nintendo 64 (and old 3d art)
And this recognition that it is a fandom united this subject to other famous fandoms, leading to the same audience, and this audience is also TADG's audience. I'll talk more about this at the end of the blog! (Edit: Part 2 of the blog. *silently cries*)
And there's this blog:
Tumblr media
That low budget 3d aesthetic it's turning really popular recently. I'm not much of an expert on the subject since I don't know much about games, but I recognize it from the old graphics and my biggest reference is Mario 64. There's a good explanation for it being so popular, I have a theory that it's related to liminal spaces, but I'm not sure. Still, it's worth mentioning.... and also that bubble character really looks like chain chomp!!
Tumblr media
They're besties
4 - liminal spaces (backrooms and the "dreamcore" aesthetic)
Tumblr media
happy balloons because the backrooms scare me (i hate it)
I think if you're on Tumblr it's very likely that you already know what the backrooms are. A part of our reality, but outside of it. There are floors and floors of eternal levels, where you wander in the same place and don't go anywhere. As if you had broken the matrix and were trapped outside, in a bug. This has become very popular on the internet and it's interesting that it is being used as inspiration for creating a show.
Furthermore, there was also the popularization of aesthetics such as dreamcore, traumacore and weirdcore, which consist of images that look like they came out of a dream. Things that you recognize, but don't know where they came from, like a deja vu, which makes you uncomfortable. It's extremely linked to the backrooms, since it's the same feeling. Many of the images are things that take us back to childhood, to the past, but they are not right, as if they were corrupted. Old 3D is also used a lot to make some of these images, like the example I gave of the Nintendo 64. The fandoms are all interconnected!
In this whole concept they also like to be inspired by childhood characteristics, such as old images of toys, empty birthday parties, playgrounds, and it also takes us to that famous sensation on the internet that I don't remember the name of, but it is basically feeling afraid of a place where people should be going, but they aren't. Abandoned places. The fear of being alone. All those topics revolve around each other. They makes us question abour reality, "do I even exist?" (I know I do, but writing characters that way and exploring the possibilities is kinda nice)
I know a brazillian youtuber that made a good video about it, her name is Replai and in the video she talks about how Poppy Playtime's art was made, but I know that most of the people reading this don't know how to speak in portuguese so... yeah. It's a good video.
5 - Children's aesthetics (but something's off)
Tumblr media
This gif speaks for itself. It's that traumacore/dreamcore/weirdcore thing that I was talking about.
Still talking about that empty feeling of knowing that something it's familiar but don't knowing where it came from, childhood memories can be related to this, as they are vague, distant and sometimes carry a feeling of sadness. I'm not a great expert on the subject, but somehow the way that's explored scares us, I know there's a good explanation on the internet. This reminds me of the reason why people are afraid of clowns: they wear this fixed smile on their face and try to appear friendly, but it's this frozen, empty expression that leaves us afraid that there are other intentions underneath. And the fact that they are so related to childhood and children's innocence makes us fearful, because we don't know if they can do any harm to them. (of course, this all happens subconsciously, you don't think about it that way but your brain activates this instinct of fear) (not you YOU, people with that phobia)
I refuse to believe that these things are not interconnected. There is a strange feeling that can be explored from this childish aesthetic and connection to childhood.
Many media are using this aesthetic as part of their stories, especially horror ones. Five Nights At Freddy's was a pioneer, exploring this in the early 2010s, and then there were other franchises like Poppy Playtime, Bendy And The Ink Machine, other FNAF games (and there are also discoveries of things that do this unintentionally and that were created before this popularization, like Popee the Performer. In music we also have great examples like Melanie Martinez's old albums, during the Cry Baby era. There are also other aesthetics who like to explore this childlike-creepy vibe, and they're a little unrelated to all this stuff, like Morute/Dollcore). Whenever I talk about this I remember FNAF SB Daycare, as it is the result of all these topics we have talked about so far. The Security Breach DLC "Ruin" decided to explore this fear of empty, abandoned places, but which once had happy children walking through the corridors. This feeling is very scary.
Do you remember when I gave clowns as an example? The circus is also a way to explore this scary+childhood feeling. A place where there should be lots of games, but which only causes fear, as in the case of those scary clowns. It's quite common in the media for the circus to be used as a focus of terror, however in the internet version we were talking about just now, it doesn't have to be directly a horror circus, just feeling that childish sensation and feeling that something is wrong is enough. Enough to make us feel uncomfortable. It's like the characters were suffering, but they can't scream for help, and it's a disorted vision of how a circus should look like. Hi Pomni!!
The Daycare Attendant also explores that.
6 - Bendy and Fnaf (for the same reasons I already told you all, but one more)
Tumblr media
Jax it's Bendy's and William Afton's lost son. We don't need no DNA test.
Tumblr media
(I'm obviously just kidding btw, his design was probably inspired by them, MOST ESPECIALLY BENDY and maybe the Cheshire Cat from Alice because of his smile??? Idk)
stay tuned for part 2 <3

Awwww, now that's a sweet ending doesn't it? :)
Yes! That's right! This year marks a huge milestone for Cartoon Network's history, because this year marks the 30th anniversary of the first original Cartoon Network character, Moxy! From the 1995 anthology series "The Moxy Show".
Okay actually to be honest the show he's from is 28 years old. And I know what your thinking.. Wait, if his show is 28 years old, why are you saying Moxy is turning 30 this year?
I have explained this already many times but the truth is Moxy actually came out way before The Moxy Show came out! Before that in 1995 formerly known as "The Moxy Pirate Show", his actual debut was on November 26 1993, with a live Cartoon Network televised event called "The Great International Toon-in", which not only aired on Cartoon Network but also on Turner's other channels such as TNT and TBS in different countries. And that's where Moxy first appeared onto the channel! He was the host of the event as he was seen in-between the marathon of cartoons, interacting with children on a tv screen. And of course was known as the first cartoon character to be animated live on tv! (Actully it wasn't really live but just pre-recorded.)
And looking back to when I first discovered this character when I saw that OK KO episode, it made me question if he was their mascot to represent the channel and I loved looking through any info I can ind about this interesting 3D cartoon dog character.
It is sad though for CN's first original character he became so unpopular and ended up being lost media to the public. But at least there are some found stuff from his show. But honestly I really thinkg we should continue to find more info! I would love to see more info about Moxy and what's his interests are? But fir now at least he's been getting a bit of attention and finally got a cameo in another CN show!
So, in honor of Moxy's 30th Aniversary, I give you all this special comic I made featuring Moxy and of course all of the Cartoon Network characters over the years! Yeah I know, I forgot to add some more but I couldn't fit much and I just really wanted to get this comic done! So if your going to complain that I forgot to add a character in this comic, I do apologize! But DAM! This was my first time drawing all these CN characters and I honestly feel proud of this! And I wanted to make sure I draw them in their right designs! But this was worth it!
So Moxy, happy 30th Anniversary to you! And happy 28th Anniversary to The Moxy Show! I know Cartoon Network dosen't care about him, but hey! I think he deserves a huge celebration! Hope there will be more info of him found! :)

if you’re hearing SHOT AT THE NIGHT by THE KILLERS playing, you have to know EMILIO ROSSI (HE/HIM; CIS MAN) is nearby! the THIRTY-THREE year old CASHIER has been in denver for, like, SIX MONTHS. they’re known to be quite CAPRICIOUS, but being ADAPTABLE seems to balance that out. or maybe it’s the fact that they resemble ADAM DIMARCO. personally, i’d love to know more about them seeing as how they’ve got those A LIFETIME FADING IN YOUR REARVIEW MIRROR, FIVE SECOND SUNSHOWERS, and THE AUDIBLE GULP IN A LOONEY TUNES CARTOON vibes. and maybe i’ll get my chance if i hang out around the LAKERIDGE DISTRICT long enough!
BASICS:
full name: emilio michele rossi nicknames: emi hometown: staten island, new york age + birthday: 33, born on August 27th, 1990 sexuality + gender: bisexual, cis man face claim: adam dimarco
BACKGROUND (tw mental illness, depression, self-harm, suicide attempt):
the days leading up to labor day weekend on the south shore of staten island were quiet and heavy with anticipation for The Last Hurrah of the summer; emilio michele rossi arrived into the world on monday, august 27th of 1990, just as quiet, and weighed with expectations he’d never live up to
the rossi’s were proud italian-americans, with the entire clan spread across staten island, long island, and spilling into jersey. his father, vinny, was a third generation mechanic and his mother was a hair stylist
emilio was the third of four children overall: two older fraternal twins (bruno & bianca, 38), and one younger brother (luca, 26). his parents also had a few siblings each with their own respective litters, so it was next to impossible not to trip over a rossi in a hundred mile radius of staten island.
emilio was always the black sheep of the family: quiet, melancholy, and spineless, a lifetime being the butt of the joke and too soft-spoken to be heard at the dinner table. they loved each other, sure, but the only time he ever felt like part of the clan was at a yankee game, booing the opposing team.
shit started hitting the fan around middle school, after his older siblings and cousins moved onto high school and emilio, already riddled with anxiety, became an easy target for bullying. he never said anything, afterall. he was the perfect punching bag, and he never really learned to speak up for himself, much less fight back. he got scrappy because he had to, but he wasn’t winning any points with the cool kids— in fact, his blooming erraticism solidified him as the weird kid.
it was like everyone around him was a prodigy. bruno took to the body shop like he was born with a wrench in hand, and bianca returned from university with a masters in business, joining her twin in taking over the family business. luca, 11 years old, had already skipped two grades and was the family’s crown jewel. his cousins were nurses, business owners, chefs, successful successful successful and emilio was nothing nothing nothing
he had a couple of friends, other fellow outcasts, and preferred hanging out around staten island with them after school rather than returning home to explain another detention, another shitty grade, another phone call from a disappointed teacher to his parents
whenever he was home, he often ended up holed up in his bedroom to avoid the constant lectures and borderline mean-spirited ribbing from the revolving door of family members, headphones on because a family as loud as his could still be heard from behind closed doors, wondering “whatever happened to emilio, he’s just so… different”
he spent so much time thinking that it turned to rumination, and one night he found himself standing on the edge of the verrazzano-narrows, wondering if it’d hurt if he jumped.
the overwhelming guilt at once again bringing shame to his family stopped him, and he shut down afterwards.
for a few years, he continued as he had before: a passenger in his own life, watching his body move through the motions. cowardice and grief morphed to apathy. suppressing his emotions, burying everything under his responsibilities and a debilitating nicotine addiction, was the only way he knew how to get by… until halfway through his junior year of college, after a particularly normal day, when he suddenly found himself in a stretcher with gauze wrapped around his wrists, the horrified and devastating faces of his family staring as he was wheeled away.
emilio finished out his semester from an in-patient program in upstate new york.
for the first time in his life, his family was quiet around him. they were anxious, they were nervous, they were soft-spoken, and he was the one with the power. he was listened to and heard. for the first time in his life, emilio rossi defended himself.
the relief of a voice gave way to exhilaration, as it was like nothing fucking mattered anymore. he could say whatever he wanted to, he could survive anything because he survived himself when he wanted nothing more than nonexistence.
he was a stain on his family. he was the black sheep. he was the weird cousin, he was the fun uncle, he was himself.
PERSONALITY & PRESENT (tw drug use, continued mental illness):
graduated with a degree in history, which got him nothing more than a glorified tour guide gig at the metropolitan museum of art. go fucking figure.
started going by emi once he moved out at 21 to a shitty apartment on the lower east side with some roommates he found craigslist.
a cocktail of nihilism, freedom, ego, and mental illness led to spending his early to mid-20s a drugged out haze, filtering between nightlife and his job, through sexual experimentation, relationships, and a disproportionate amount of bad to good days.
terribly CAPRICIOUS— his mood changes unpredictably, and he oscillates between thrumming anxiety and over-confidence, a little too honest, a little too comfortable, yet entirely oblivious in other regards. sometimes, he feels like an a spaceman trying to blend in with humanity.
this also makes him extremely ADAPTABLE, making it easier for him to flit around friendships and places because he’s always willing to follow the night.
moved out of new york when he was 30 and spent a few years working seasonal jobs around the country, until he took his savings and moved to denver at age 33 once he heard the news that luca’s been nominated for a nobel prize.
hasn’t seen any of his family in person since he was 29
has absolutely zero direction in life and is probably overdue for a nervous breakdown.

Top 25 Ed, Edd, N Eddy Episodes: Top 25 List of the Ed (Comissioned by Weirdkev27)
Tumblr media
Hello all you happy Eds and happy late anniversary to one of the best showss Cartoon Network ever put out. A few weeks back Ed, Edd n Eddy hit it's 25th Anniversary.. which makes me feel old, but still proud.
For those less familiar, Ed Edd, N Eddy was a series by Danny Antonucci. Antonucci was a huge fan of cartoons of the 40's through 70's, the wobbly style and chaotic energy, and , basing it on people he knew from his children with two of the ed boys to himself with Rolf. He tried pitching it to Nick, but wisely didn't want to give up creative control, something cartoon network gave him, leading to 5 seasons and a movie of handrawn wonder. Yes i'm aware of the 1 technically 6th season episode, but like HBO Max I just lump that in with season 5.
For those less familiar with the show, a quick primer: Ed, Edd, N Eddy follows the titular ed boys: Imaginative cloudcukoolander dum dum brick house Ed, neurotic genius inventor voice of reason Edd, and scheming egotist jerkass Eddy. The three would reguarly try to pull "Scams" to get the kids quarter, a combination of buisnesses, out and out schemes to get money, and ocasinally buliding an ENTIRE CITY. Their targets were the other 6 kids and plank of wood inhabiting their Cul De Sac: Rich kid asshole treat him as the villian Kevin, nice girl and sorta love intrest Nazz, son of a shepard Rolf, Ed's abusive shouty sister Sarah, Sarah's best friend and sensitive kind boy Jimmy and the weird, wonderful Johnny and his best friend Plank. Typically the schemes would fail either due to Eddy's hubris, an unforseen thing or if the writer's were feeling a tad lazy, just having local bullies and sexual harassers the Kanker Sisters end the episode.
The series stuck to it's small cast, a handful of settings, yet used those for all they got, getting 4 seasons out of a nearly endless summer filled with fantastic slapstick comedy, nice adult nods sprinkled in there, and fluid and bouncy animation, with a 5th shifting the setting to school for a decent enough season that's barely on this list but wasn't too bad, ending in a finale movie.
So i'm honoring this fine series with it's 25 best episodes: once kevin pitched the idea and clinked the money in my jar, I went through the series, picked out my faviorites, narrowed it down to the 25, then rewatched ALL of them. I was stuck in bed with tubrculosis, what else was I going to do. I COULD have gone off memory, but it just felt right to rewatch them all and at 11 minutes an episode it was fesable. I am willing to do more lists on comission and will rewatch any episodes I put on said list if possible, but I have limits. Overall though it was remarkable how I not only had TROUBLE pairing it down to 25, but how awesome these episodes still were all these years later.
So these are the good, the great and the weird of Ed , Edd N Eddy across 5 seasons and celebrating 25 years, 25 scams and 25 cents. Join me under the cut.
Tumblr media
25. Ed, Pass it On aka The One With Eddie's Brother Allgedlys Coming Back Home
Ed Pass It On.. is okay. The opening set piece is an all timer and rewatching these reminded me just how much this show loves it's opening set piece scams and how good it was at them. A restraunt is great and the way it derails being ed putting hhimself naked on one of those fancy serving tray things is brilliant. I didn't need to SEE a naked Ed, but that's half the joke.
The actual episode.. is less enjoyable than I remember. The idea of Eddy lying his big brother coming back is great and it has some nice foreshadowing for the big picture show, but joke wise it's just not funny watching everyone be terrified a serial domestic abuser is going to come back. it is intresting seeing how each character interacts with the idea and Sarah easily derail it, but it didn't hold up as well possibly due to SAID big picture show hammering home just how bad a person Eddy's brother is taking Kevin and Rolf's reactions from kinda funny to "Okay I see why jesus". Not a terrible one, just one that didn't age well.
Tumblr media
24. Stop Look and Ed aka The No Rules One
The titles for this series.. aren't great. Some fit okay, but the chaotic title cards meant I didn't read them clearly half the time as a kid and their so generic. Thankfully the episodes are still good> This one's got a strong premise: Edd is , as you'd expect, neurotic about a keep off the grass sign, and Eddy and Ed defy it, then decide to break all the rules they can, leading to the neighborhood goign into chaos in hilarous ways with Rolf taking a break for once, Kevin destroying dishes and Sarah and Jimmy's ice cream mountain. We also get the iconic line "Save it and use it for ammo when I need to double d". Otherwise.. it's flimsier than I remembered, with Edd's solution being entirely assholish and eddy being a dick the whole time. It has enough memorable moments to land it here, with the jawbraker satilte, the off screne double d reveal, the ice cream mountain, it's just not the series best. That won't last long on this list thankfully.
Tumblr media
23. An Ed Too Many aka Sarah gets a crush on Double D
Season 1 was a tad more relaxed than the seasons after, a bit more chill and that shows here. There's no scam in progress, our heroes just hit up Double D, try to make pizza then work on what the next scam will be while the conflict is simply Sarah getting a crush on Edd and stalking him.
That part could easily ruin the episode: Ed, Edd N Eddy has held up in a lot of ways, but it's use of the Kankers.. is not one of them ,being the embodiment of "HA HA THIS SEXUAL HARASSMENT IS FUNNY BECAUSE IT'S HAPPENING TO A MAN. LAUGH LAUGH AT HOW UNCOMFORTABLE THIS IS LAUUUUGGGGHHHH".
So it's a plesant suprise that when it comes to this episode with Sarah.. they get it right. Sarah is obsessively following Double D around, but the episode makes it very clear in how she acts this episode she's a kid: She dosen't understand this isn't okay or Edd isn't intrested because she's.. well apparently 12 according to the middle school seasons but clearly supposed to be younger than that even in those seasons? This show is weird with ages.
Point is you get an innocence in Janynse Jaud's performance. She's just a kid following around the older boy she has a crush on and not understanding that him giving her a flower, entirely innocently, didn't make him his boyfriend but you understand why from her perspective she is. Not only that Sarah's entitlement as a character and tendency to not be told no , as anyone who does usually gets their teeth misplaced soon after, makes it clear WHY she doesn't get it and why Ed gently trying ot tell her to leave or eddy being.. eddy about it don't work. The episode dosen't make Sarah's behavior okay either, as it's clear Double D is massively uncomfortable, but it's on such a low scale, the worst we get being "hello trapped boyfriend" and her acts mostly being following him around, asking him to play and making paper art out of the paper used for their dinosaur.
The episode is low on jokes, but ones it has are great. We have that great shot of Ed and Eddy carrying edd, "Get Lost", an all time great joke of the series, and of course Jimmy's heartbroken reaction to everything, foaming at the mouth and trying to pick a fight with eddy in the most hilarious way possible while Eddy just boggles at it and has ed kidnap him. The ending solution, the two playing together is also really sweet. All in all a solid, shockingly wholesome episode.
Tumblr media
22. Over Your Ed aka Cool Ed
Another season 1 episode and once again I like how relaxed it is: our heroes are simply running an "eno-g-drink" stand, a smaller hustle than normal, ed being ed and also extra smelly ruins it, so the eds decide to fancy him up and then profit off it. Simple plot. This one is here entirely for ed's transformation, a classic design from the fun wig to the neat jacket, and the fountain of nearly incomrephnisble 70's and 80's catchphrases. Cool ed is a delight and would easily get this episode higher. The problem is one MANY an episode have: Deus Ex Kanker. The writer's can't figure out how an episode ends, so the Kanker Sisters show up. There's less HARASSMENT in this one, so it's not as bad, but this one wreaks of them not knowing how to end the scheme and just letting the Kankers do it for them and it ends the episode on a sour note.
Tumblr media
21. Laugh Ed Laugh aka Eddy looses his mind due to a Pandemic
Yeah this one aged well for obvious reasons, but even beyond the obvious parallels to the hellscape we all lived through, it's a well done character piece that shows why EDDY does this. Sure we know other reasons, greed, a need to live up to his brother, etc, but this one makes it clear he's addicted to it. He's given a chance to just hang with his best friends, let the storm pass.. but it's just not as fun. He can't play games like kick the can when there's no money in it, no thrill to it. He may get constantly frustrated at his constant losses... but this ep adds the subtext that that the possiblity of loss, the possiblity of not winning... is part of it. Eddy.. is a gambler. He lives for the thrill of the chase as much as the thrill of those quarters jingling in his jar. IT's why he ends up playing one of the oldest scams in the world with a bunch of squirrels for a prize he dosen't care about. He cares about the money.. but he needs the game too and goes mad without it. Tony Sampsons performance is also a large reason this one's here as it's one of his best. Truly great hilarious stuff. A solid episdoe that really cracks Eddy open as a character.
Tumblr media
20. This Won't Hurt an Ed aka The Needle One
This is also the only one from Season 5. Now despite this I DO like Season 5's attempt's to do something new with the formula, putting the Ed's back to school and giving us new outfits for most of the cast that still echo their familiar ones. I particularly like Eddy's jacket. I also get why it dosen't work for some as the show still wasn't back to full speed despite this refresh, some of it's worse habits stuck, and the minimalist cast is a lot more noticable in a school setting, if still working for me. But I get why it wouldn't work for everyone.
That said it still gave us some classics and this is the best of them. It's also an episode that makes me feel bad for Kevin something hard given that he's an arrogant jerk. The episode does this well without really changing his character: he's still arrogant and he's largely nice to Jimmy at the moment because Jimmy's feeding his ego.. but you also get WHY the other kids are showering him for winning a sports ball as he has genuine charisma and is in a good enough mood to not be a sarcastic jerk to them, as he often tends to be.
The other half is Eddy. Eddy starts shit with Kevin this time not because Kevin disrespected him.. but because Kevin's getting all the attention. Eddy is genuinely in the wrong here and uses private medical information to torture Kevin with his fear of needles while also causing a panic in the school and making Double D's job as a nurse's assitant harder. Eddy... is a bad person a lot of the time and while he has a damn good reason WHY he's this way, it dosen't change the fact a lot of the time he's just a jerk for petty reasons.
The various torments are hilaroius but what gives the episode extra charm is the creepiness added as Kevin tries to avoid the eds as they stalk him. The short takes on a horror movie vibe. And again the episode dosen't forget Kevin is who he is: his response to the boys con being outed by Double D.. is to try and beat their heads in. But what clinches this one as a classic is Double D finding anothe rway around, one that remidns me of the aformentioned grounding episode... but instead of having kevin beat them.. he gives EDDY the shot to help Kevin with his own fear. A perfect payback ending to a damn fine episode.
Tumblr media
19. Floss Your Ed aka OW TOOTH HURT
This is just a fun gag fest, plain and simple. The setup is simple: Ed's tooth is loose , Eddy puts a bounty on it to try and get that tooth fairy money and we get a lot of fantastic hyjinks from the rest of the kids as they try to get it loose from fishing lures to the fake jawbreaker above. It's a bit low thanks to it's ending not being as fun as everything else, but the payoff of Ed eating the teeth still works.
Tumblr media
18. For The Ed By the Ed aka The Election One
A fitting one for this year, and not the last election episode i'll be going with. And what a concidence it's also between a blatant criminal who tries to steal an election and a plank of wood whose still a far better choice. Eerie.
This one's here partly because I really like election episodes, but mostly for it's murderer's row of jokes: We get things like the shovel, Eddy's over the top electionaring, Ed literally digging up dirt, and Eddy's blantant election fraud so obvious and ineveitble Edd already planned way ahead. Simple premise but damn if it ain't fun. It's also cathartic as hell to see Plank beat up the Kankers. He's got my vote.
Tumblr media
17. Rent An Ed aka The Eds leave Johnny Homeless
This is another quick one to talk about: it's just gag after gag after gag as the Ed's destroy Jimmy's house then Johnny's. Plank telling them what they did, the design of Johnny stuck in a tree, Chez La Sweat, this one is just nonstop slapstick gold , concluding int he glorious delivery of "IS THAT THE SUPPORT BEAM TO THE HOUSE?!"
Tumblr media
16. Dear Ed aka Johnny and Plank Break UP
This one thrives on a great concept, as do most great Ed Edd N Eddy Episodes: Johnny and Plank have a fight and while Jimmy takes the poor hunk of wood in, Eddy tries to captlize on Edd's well meaning attempts to find the kid a new best friend. What foils it is especially clever: it's not Eddy's usually impulsivness or greed, it's simply Johnny's imagination: Johnny gave Plank life, so they can't really contorl how he reacts to the other friends with a Traffic Cone being a perverted jerk and a Boot nearly killing him. Add in a fun as heck party with the whole neighborhood showing up and a wholesome ending with the boys dancing with Jimmy and you have one of my faivorite episodes.
Tumblr media
15. Dueling Eds aka the Duel One
Okay some of these titles are pretty transparent, but you name an episode off the top of your head by title. Go on i'l wait.
Anyways, I love Rolf, easily tied with Johnny for my faviorite of the kids, so it's a shock only one of his episodes is on here, but damn does he make it count. The premise works well: It simply let's Eddy be his obnoxious self, disprespecting Rolf's culture then refusing to see he did anything wrong despite how obviously upset Rolf was and how obvious it is to anyone with two eyes that he was an insenstive little dickhead. Thus while Eddy goes through it this episode.. you don't remotely feel bad for him: He had every chance to apologize and even the cupcakes would've work but his stubborn refusal to admit he did anything wrong gets him beat. It's also aged remarkably well with many a person disrepscting people's personal cultures for being diffrent They all deserve a fish slap.
The duel itself also climbs it up here with the striking colors and some good gags like Rolf wanting eddy to fight back even though really this fight is one sided and Eddy has been trying. We also get a rare kevin compuance, as he tapes the fight, clearly is only into it because Eddy's getting beat.. and clearly gets beaten up afterwords. Also Ed becomes an eel. That sure did happen. I also love the guys eagerness to walk on Rolf's face. What a guy.
Tumblr media
14. Look Into My Eds aka the Hypno Wheel One
Look into my heads is a weird one. As you might have noticed from the other season one eps on this list, Season 1 , like most season 1s, experimented a bit, trying to figure out the show's rhythm, having a more relaxed tone in places. The show hadn't quite settled into it's scam of the week format (with the ocasional breaks to keep it from getting stale of course).
So we get this episode where hypnotism is outright real and a lot of fun transformations , paticuarlly monkey Kevin and frog sarah. It's just some fun nonsenes. It's only real issue and what keeps it this down low despite such great animation and physical comedy .. is the Kankers. Their barely on this list for a reason, and while the ending isn't AS bad as usual, their use still feels like they had no ending thought up when they came up with the hynowheel. The reason it dosen't completely derail the ep is it is at least CLEVER why their resitant and the hair gag is hilarious. So a unique ep that could've been better, but still is solid and memorable thanks to it's designs and comedy.
Tumblr media
13. Dawn of the Eds aka The Space Ranger One
Dawn of the eds is another season 1 experiment and one I wish they'd done more of: it's just a chill hangout episode outside the usual premise where the guys collect money for jawbreakers, plan to sneak into a movie then spend the day roleplaying in the junk yard. It's just pure fun to watch the kids have so much fun dressing up junk, hanging out in an old van and playing spaceman, and the ending of them throwing shit at sarah and jimmy and leaving for dinner while dragging ed away is a perfect capper. It's not joke dense like later entries on this list, but it's just so much fun and nice break from the pattern the show would fall into later.
Tumblr media
12. Avast Ye Eds aka the Steel Pedal Guitar One
Another vibes episode.. at least for the first half and one of my faviorite scams of the series: The ed's simply take Johnny and Jimmy boating which fits first, the former loving adventure and the later being a perfect foil for how dinky the boat is with his fussy nature and seasickness. It also has that steel pedal guitar bit, from how much Edd hates the thing to how GOOD he is at it while being utterly bored. It's one of the series best and elviates this episode by itself but even without it it's still a lot of chill fun on a boat.
Then the Kanker's show up.. and the episode gets even better. Yeah, probably the only time anyone's ever said that but unlike other examples of their inclusion in season 1 they feel more part of the plot: of course they'd do this and the pirate thing helps esclate it giving us great stuff like "kick my feet faster", johhnny's badass sail ripping, and walking plank. I"m shocked they got that obvious joke out of the way so soon and wouldn't be suprised if they entirely wrote an episdoea round getting there. The usual sexual harassment keeps this classic down a few pegs, but it's still one of my go to episodes for a reason.
Tumblr media
11. X Marks the ed aka ATTACK THE WIG.
LIke the last entry on this list, X Marks the Ed gets a lot of mileage out of having one of the series best gags, in this case my personal faviorite ATTACK THE WIG, from it's randomness, to Ed's tender reveal of "wigs scare me double d" as well as how it takes the easy solution to this dillema out of the plot.
X Marks in general is just funny. Yes Eddy probably dosen't deserve his suffering even with his giant pile of horrible deeds before this, but while the Zit on his head isn't his fault, his making it bigger by poking at it is. And the antics the kids get up to, from Johnny running a scam himself to the expertly crafted photo bit, is great. Rolf is also in top form here, happy to help, treating making the cure like a cooking show and somehow srhinking eddy while running away from his actions. X Marks the ed is just pure laughs the whole way through and sometimes that's all you need to make a good episode of this show.
Tumblr media
10. They Call him Mr Ed aka Up
This was one of my faviorites as a kid (as most of this list is really, they held up well) , and for good reason: the simple idea of Eddy building a company dedicated to going up with no actual goal this time is genius. It's very clear his understanding of buisness is what tweens would be, with him just thinking it's about board rooms, hiring people and going UP. The sheer amount of up puns is mindboggling as it is incredible and I salute them keeping this schitck up. Everyone fits into the corprate setting really well: Eddy as the corrupt ceo, Edd as the Smithers, Johnny int he mail room, Nazz as receptionist given her people skills, Jimmy as the style person, Rolf on security with his strength. Though I don't think had the fight got on Kevin would've lived much longer. It also uses kevin well to derail the scheme: it's a tricky arct finding a way to end it that isn't TOO ashoolish, and Kevin simply wanting to talk to Nazz, not respecting the game their playing and leading to Eddy tipping his hand on not paying anyone is perfect, as is Ed's elevator runner paying off in such a surreal way.
This episode is truly in the up-er echelon and a perfect way to start UP the top 10.
Tumblr media
9. Fa-La-La-La-Ed aka the first Christmas One
This one gets to the top 10 on sentiment: it's a genuinely heartfelt christmas episode... even as eddy keeps reminding us "it's July!". Remember that for July this year. It's just so nice to see Ed's delusion it's christmas lead to the kids deciding "fuck it let's go ahead and celebrate christmas" and just enjoy themselves. It has good gags too including the caroling and the piggy bank scam, as well as the whole idea of piggy bank day, but it gets here entirley just by being sweet and with Ed being at easily his kindest and most selfless.
Tumblr media
8. One + One = Ed aka the Really Fucking Weird One We All Love
This one was a shoe in for a list the second it was pitched to me. It's one of both the msot memorable episodes and the funniest and now having learned more about animation than I did as a kid, gags like Eddy going into the background or taking away Jimmy's line are even better. It's also hard not to love Jimmy's comeback later "don't spill me!" or the three headed Rolf. An episode simply about learning things work sharply swerves into an absurdist masterpiece, and I love every second of it. It plays with the animation, breaks every rule and has a damn good time doing it. It's certainly the show's weirdest episode.. but it's also certainly one of it's best.
Tumblr media
7. Urban Ed aka Edtropolis
This is one I loved as a kid and I was delighed, again like most of these, that it held up REALLY well.
The setting is what makes this episode both such a classic and such a nice break from the usual: While Eddy's still trying to milk money building an entire, fun looking city of cardboard for it while introducing various city scams, from beginin stuff like shopping or shoe shines to a tatoo parlor the episode finds a LOT of fun stuff to do with an urban setting. This thing is crammed with joke after joke from the anvil gag to the boy with the snake on it's face, and once again threads the needle just right; Eddy's punished.. but given he hit johnny up for money earlier and built the city LARGELY just to make money off people, I can't feel too bad. The opening scam is also one of the series best. Just try to confuse them into money. I'm shocked it didn't work.
Tumblr media
6. Robbin Ed aka the Superhero Episode
Look I love superheroes. I'm not shy about that so this one always had a place in my heart. But it's a dang fun superhero episode and what I hold up as one of the gold standards for "one of the cast becomes a superhero" episodes. It helps it has a unique hook to it compared to most: it's not our main characters becoming masked vigiliaintes, but Jonny, whose upbeat nature, kindness and already shown bits of heroisim (See the pirate episode from before) make him a perfect fit, with Plank being a natural sidekick.
It also puts Eddy in the perfectly fitting role of supervillian. He's already a crook, has ego issues and gets pissed off easily: have Jonny ENTIRELY JUSITFIABLY wreck his latest and most scammy scam (selling people a device they only had one of and filling the boxes with nothing), and Professor Scam is born. The rest of the episode is Eddy just.. perfectly sinking into the role, from his hilariously dumb setup scheme which made me laugh at a butt joke for a change, to his scam ray to that all timer gag of his getaway bike floating away without him, it's a perfect 60's batman style showdown, and Ed turning face at the end is the perfect way to resolve it. Robbin Ed is a good time and stands out for good reason.
Tumblr media
5. See No Ed aka The One Without the Eds
See No Ed is a clever inversion of Laugh Ed Laugh: We've had an episode without the other kids, seen how the Ed's deal with that. I'm amazed it took till season 4 to get to this given they did the inverse so early on but it was worth the wait.
It also neatly shows the stages the kids go through: their curious, then throw a party not having to deal with Eddy's shit for a day, then are genuinely worreid and finally go to a scam WITHOUT the ed's there to opperate it which still goes well. It's all logical but also creates a sense of intrigue as to WHERE they are.
Helping this is Kevin, the lead of the episode and given how much Kevin can be a jerk, putting an episode on his shovel chin is a risk.. but it pays off here. Just as the other kids absence rattled Eddy, Kevin finds he's off ballance without his nemisis. He assumes the absence has to be s cam, that the eds ar ewaiting for him, devolves into parnoia. It lays bear what Kevin is: a bully that needs a target to fuel his massive ego, the same way eddy needs to pull scams, win or loose, to stroke his own ego: Eddy scams because it get shim money and makes him feel sharper than the sharpies. In turn Kevin hutns eddy so viciosuly because hunting Eddy and whaling on him gives him something.
Something that dosen't come up often but this episode makes clear is that Kevin's place among the kids.. is fragile. He's postiioned himself as the alpha dog, the big boy, the one others respect.. but his closest friends are the ones nice to everyone: Rolf and Nazz are just unbelievably Kind. And Even Nazz gets annoyed by him at times and is the one most likely to call him out and Rolf likely woudln't be as close if he knew half of what Kevin said. Kevin needs Eddy because Eddy's presence assures he won't become just like him: an outcast whose ego, selfishness and need for attention isolate him from everyone else. Kevin falls apart because he can't accept the eds aren't some boogey man to make him feel better and their absence isn't some scheme and it's glorious to see.

4. The Day the Ed Stood Still aka He's a Literal Monster
The Day the Ed Stood still is another format bender, and a clever one as it's a bait and switch: it starts with your standard cold open scam, Ed decides he wants to be a ,onster, Edd wants to help because he's a kind soul and Eddy does because he can sell this.
Then.. things go off the rails in the best way possible. This one asks what happens when two of the ed's biggest assets, Edd's inventivness and Ed's unstoppable strength, ran rampant: Double D builds Ed the perfect monster suit.. and Ed BECOMES the monster and a nightmarish force Double D desperatley tries to stop while Eddy encourages because he's a sick bastard. IT's one of the few times he's not punished for being the worst.
What follows isa fun tense monster movie as Ed slowly picks off the neighborhood. The deisgn on the monster is awesome and the slow reveal of it is brilliant, as is Ed making his layer in his basment with chewed up chunky puffs. Gross AND horrifying. The ending, with Eddy naturally having a bunker ready under his bed and Ed going wild to not let him get away THAT easy with his actions, is a lot of fun.
Tumblr media
3. Once Bitten, Twice Ed aka The Never Ending Scam
This one is helped by having the series best cold open. Easily. It's not even a contest: Baron O Beef Dip is just pure comedy gold, from how Shoddy the prank is, to using Ed's iconic little monster pal, to fo course ED EATING HIS MATTRESS, not to mention the fact this isn't the first time, and ending on "devour the non belivier and Eddy having to get eddy to CALL HIM OFF CALL HIM OFF. This alone would get the episode on this list.
The rest though is also excellent and while a bit overshadowed by the opening set piece, still slaps with a simple concept: Eddy has a scam he won't let go of and instead keeps lazily rehashing while the kids get tired of it and by the end aren't falling for it. Eddy uses a random object, lures them in, it's a hunt, Rolf tries to participate witha blunt object, Johnny objects. Rinse, repeate, comedy gold. I also found a joke I didn't get as a kid that i loved here, Great Nano's kidney stone. The fact Rolf has that and the fact Nazz is the only one to go "wait waht". It's brilliant. Replacing that later wtih Kevin just.. giving hi ma hammer, this time KNOWING it's ed is also good. This one takes a concept and runs with it and unlike Eddy dose'nt run it into the ground. It's a perfect eddy plot too: he's so prideful that of COURSE there'd be that one scam he thought was great and refuses to admit was halfbaked from the start. Of course. This one never quite ends but it certainly leaves us on a high.. and a toilet for some reason.
Tumblr media
2. Little Ed Blue aka BIG TROUBBBLEEEEEE
We all remember this one: Ed gets upset, chaose ensues. What I noticed more on rewatch though is two key things that made this epiosde good: it's densely packed with jokes and ahs a well done plot: the opening with the theater is genuinely nice: the movie is entertaining, we get the steel pedal guitar again, a clear seal of quality, and the food fight is wholesome: it starts as a fight btu the kids just have fun and Eddy gets an honest day's profit.
The main event though is one of the ages: ed is upset, kicks everyone out and gives sarah her just deserts for a change. And what works is that Ed.. just wants to be alone> He's dealing with a pebble, he's having a crappy day and the episode only keeps going because Edd, misguidedly, want's to cheer up his best friend instead of letting him just have a poopy mood, especially since outside of the theater thing, he's not harming anyone> He just sits on a stump moping and only gets agressive when Edd and Eddy won't leave him alone. The worst he does is hurt Edd's feelings.. but he tells him to go away. They don't listen, so what happens next is on them.
It allows the episodes slapstick to be hilarous as Eddy is his usual self, not wanting ot help because he dosen't care and screaming at edd or othe rhalf assed things. Hence the glorious shit he gets done to him from Ed making a toy breathe fire, to the comic book face to my faviorite him being turned into a bat to bean kevin after both are dicks to ed, it all feels deserved> it also makes johnny solving it work: Jonny did nothing wrong, and thus is the one who actually fixes ed.. with planks help. It's a masterful episode with Matt Hill's best performance by far.
Tumblr media
Shoo Ed aka Annoying Johnny
Many an episode on this list is good.. but at the end of the day one was #1 in my heart for years as I didn't realize till getting screencaps a year or two back a LOT of my faviorite gags were int his one episode and even amnong all these rewatches, only one king of the cul de sac could be crowned.
I like Jonny a lot as a character, inconsitent spelling of his name here or not, with plank also being great. His innocense, his weird sidekick, but this is the peak of his moutnain. Johnny is unteitonally a pest to kevin, and Eddy weaponizes it for his own means. The result is the funniest episode of the show and the best version of it's standard formula.
Johnny's the star here with his unteiotnal annoyance, the glorious purple suit, and Paul David Grove's great enthusasim. But everyone gets a chance to shine: Double D's growing bafflement with this and eventaul freakout with "i glued a block of wood to johnny's foot", eddy at his scammiest and hammiest as he enjoys this, and Ed .. well he glued a block of wood to johnny's foot. We get so many great jokes from Eddy and Kevin's argument, to "I glued a block of wood to johnny's foot", the suddne ye haw, provoke our creation, Rolf natually loving new johnny "What does that mean I ask you" and of course
Tumblr media
So many great lines and performances I could spend all day listing them but I won't. It also , like most eps here, avoids the usual pitfall of the series: The ed's punishment is proportionate, trapped by the monster they created and eddy's own cheapness. A fitting end to the series best episode.
Thanks for reading Ed boys.

Director's Commentary: what will today's adventure be
Wrote this on the bus even though absolutely nobody asked for or needed it! Posting because why not. It's 1300 words of commentary for a 3100 word story. WHY NOT.
I've had the vague idea of Erica running a MLP game for a while, but seeing her little speech in Hellfire absolutely locked in her potential as a DM for me. I jotted this down in my ST scratchpad a few weeks back:
I desperately want Erica Sinclair running a MLP GURPS game. Dustin and Eddie are 10000% on board and wildly delighted. Mike is a massive dick about it the entire time. Lucas is in agony between acknowledging that it’s a pretty fucking well-designed game and he’s kind of proud of her but also HIS LITTLE SISTER HAS INFILTRATED HIS NERD GROUP WITH HER GIRLY CARTOON PONY SHIT. If Will’s around, he’s a little skeptical but quickly gets into it; it’s not his genre/style, but he can have fun trying something new. It’s ruthless, and clever, and slightly unbalanced because she hasn’t figured out how to calibrate on the fly for dumbass player decisions yet. She’ll get there. She’s got the taste for it now. The campaign ends when the party ends up luring the innocent Sea Ponies into a blood sacrifice to defeat the demon lord through necromancy and take over his dark reign. Steve shows up for the last fifteen minutes to drive the kids home, just in time to hear Erica describe the incredibly gory showdown, and tries to telepathically communicate to Eddie that this is NOT APPROPRIATE FOR CHILDREN; Eddie just grins back like hell yeah, baby, you got that right.
Obviously it has changed a bit since that initial thought, but not a huge amount, dynamic-wise. I was somewhat hampered by the fact that I remembered absolutely nothing about my brief stint with GURPS a billion years ago, and also the fact that I have literally never consumed any MLP media whatsoever. No, not even Friendship is Magic, although I was on tumblr during that initial era so I picked up a thing or two via cultural osmosis. To write this ficlet, I ended up spending a very instructive hour or two on YT watching old clips and commercials, and now the G1 theme song is permanently lodged in my brain.
This has more or less been my first time writing Erica, so I tried to put a lot of thought and care into it. In fact, I based her primarily on what my own little sister was like at that age—my sister was a regular player in my D&D games growing up, but she also went on to be a wildly popular homecoming queen, and is a very politically active adult. She's the coolest person I know, and it was an honor to be lovingly bullied by her all throughout our childhoods.
One thing I really hope I get across in this fic is that this Erica is the type to double down when she's uncertain. She's smart and funny enough to get away with it most of the time, and it's actually a big part of what makes me so sure she'll be a great DM; that's definitely a core DM skill, spinning up some off-the-cuff bullshit with the kind of authoritative tone that makes it sound like you've been masterminding this twist for months.
I wanted her to be somewhat uncertain and insecure in this fic, because running a game for the first time, in a (VERY dense) system you've never played before, is kind of a big deal! I've done something similar myself when I wasn't that much older than Erica is in this fic, and you absolutely need nerves of steel to pull it off.
I also wanted her to be fully resolved not to let that uncertainty show, because Erica strikes me as the kind of person who haaaaates being vulnerable. Given her vocab (i.e. probable reading level) and practical inclinations, I think she'd probably deal with it all by over-prepping, which experienced DM Eddie obviously clocks.
She wouldn't have gone to Eddie for advice or help. That's not how she rolls. She'd rather work through the difficult stuff on her own and show up triumphant and already perfect. It's probably something she's going to have to unpack in therapy later in life, but it is also actually a pretty solid DM instinct. Smoke and mirrors, baby.
So anything Erica says can and should be taken with a grain of salt. She's working very hard to have her audience believe she's in charge and absolutely correct about all things. (I also just thought it was pretty funny to include that bit about GURPS being the future of TTRPGs, given the wild ascendancy of DnD and the relatively low profile of GURPS nowadays, but in retrospect I'm not sure that came across.)
By the way: I know it can get confusing when actual kid-acquisition is sort of a trope, but I hope everyone knows that this Eddie's not being serious/literal when he makes the internal comment about adopting Erica! He just loves her a lot and wants to be in her life in a permanent kind of way, and he's a dramatic dork. If he had to pin down a specific extant familial role he literally wanted with Erica, it would probably be "weird gay uncle." The Sinclair fam seems relatively stable/healthy which is a rarity for these kids, but family can always expand, and Eddie is definitely angling to be another part of Erica's familial-type support network. That's just way too awkward and serious a thing to say, hence: joke about adoption.
I actually didn't mean for the Steddie part to come on so strong, but I put them in Steve's house because I thought it'd be funny to have a bit about Dustin casually breaking in to all their houses, and then it became instantly clear when Steve opened the door that the whole setup would be some kind of wild domestic fantasy for him. Like, in his head Eddie is already 100% wifed up. (Not that I think that would be a particularly comfortable dynamic for Eddie, but Steve's allowed to have his little fantasies.)
And then I just wanted to write a little bit about them being really comfortable with each other and being a team, taking care of each other as they deal with the minor inconveniences of everyday life, working together to look out for kids who are their friends but not quite their peers.
I don't think I got too deep into that particular dynamic, but it's one I'm pretty invested in; they're really only a few years older than the kids, but they're also responsible for the kids' care, and it's a very nuanced thing. I've been on both sides of that, and it's an absolutely incredible gift either way. Having friends who are a little further along their paths than you is amazing; having friends who you can provide for and support is amazing. It gives you so much perspective. I don't think of my mentees (for lack of a better word) as anything like my children, and I don't think Steve and Eddie think of the Party that way either. It's a very specific dynamic that I might need to spend more time on in a later fic.
As for the ending...normally I go hard on the pining, as y'all know by now, but this just felt like a very different thing was happening. Also, one time a girl did pull that "talk about what? lol jk come here" thing on me IRL and it was very cute.
Finally, just because I did in fact come up with them, here are the Party names and pony types:
Dustin: Jester the Pegasus Pony
Lucas: Nettle the Pegasus Pony
Mike: Skullcrusher the Earth Pony
Will: Glint the Unicorn
Eddie: Belladonna the Flutter Pony

This might sound weird, but I want to grow up with Moon Girl.
Now, I am twice Lunella's age and way closer to 30 than I am to 13 at this point in my life. So, I want to explain my statement.
The vast majority of cartoon characters do not age. Take Timmy Turner for example. He's been 10 years old since before I was 10 years old. Which is fine, for the most part he is a chaotic, self-involed child whose show is based on the premise that he never wants to grow up.
Naruto Uzumaki and now Penny Proud are two of a very small group of cartoon characters to age. I think Kim Possible aged as well.
Usually, aging in children's shows is reserved to live action characters played by real actors, because of course, human beings age.
However, I think Lunella is a great character to grow up with. I would love to see her go from 13 to 14 to 15 and so on until the age of 18. I would love to see her character go from middle school to high school, and I'd love to see the show ultimately end with Lunella as a senior in high school over the span of several seasons.
I would love to see her character grow and develop. I would, also, love to she her relationship with Casey and Devil grow and develop, and I would love to see how Lu goes about making new friends.
The reason I feel this way is because Moon Girl already embodies a lot of diversity and tackles complex issues. However, there are some developmental issues that are still a little too advanced for a 13 year old character to take on. One example, is not just dating but LGBT dating. Another example, is learning to get better at making new friends. A last example that I am going to bring up, is a girl learning to navigate her menstrual cycle. To all the guys reading, that's not something that a woman figures out overnight.
I don't feel like aging Lunella is a far stretch, because the show already aged her. Lunella is around 8 years old in the comics, but she is 13 in the show.
I ultimately feel that aging Moon Girl will give the current generation of children a reason to watch Disney Chanel longer instead of transitioning to only watching MTV when they hit 15 or so.

Nefarious pt. 5
Tumblr media
Aaron Hotchner x OC
summary: In a constant game of life and death, two people meet. Changing their lives and those of everyone around them.
Trigger warning: If you are not in the right headspace, or are sensitive to this type of content, please scroll by! Put yourself first! This is purely fiction and is not based on any real events!
Warnings!: murder, unintentional murder, death, suffocation, broken bones, mental health problems (psychosis), child death, HEAVY ANGST, crying, yelling, no cute scenes this is just pure angst
AN: The 5th part is finally here. I usually don't write stuff this angsty and graphic, but I felt like I needed to for the sake of the story. This is a criminal minds fanfic and it wouldn't be like that if murder and tragedy didn't happen! That being said, I worked very very hard on this part and took a long time to get it right. I feel like it came out the way it was in my head. Although this is a very heavy chapter, Im very proud of my hard work. As always: let me know what you think! I really appreciate that!
disclaimer: I do not own criminal minds or its characters. The only thing originally mine are the characters and storylines I created!

The Wrong Side of Heaven
Arthur Schopenhauer said “mostly it is a loss that teaches us about the worth of things”
Ben, Scott and Aubrey all sat on the small couch standing in their aunt’s house. A cartoon was playing, but none of the children were really looking at it. Scott and Ben looked down at their feet as the tears silently fell down their cheeks. It was only Aubrey, who was still too small to understand, that was crying and screaming uncontrollably.
Their aunt clutched her head as she shouted at little Aubrey, not being able to withstand the noise coming from the 5-year-old.
“Stop crying!” She yelled, “Just shut up and be quiet!”
As if something snapped inside of Megan, she grabbed the wrist of her niece, roughly pulling her up. Dragging her towards the stairs, she paused and turned for a moment.
“Mommy is gonna bring your sister to bed now, be good.” She smiled sweetly at the boys on the couch. Ben and Scott shared a confused look before nodding.
When Aubrey and Megan arrived at the room with three small beds, Aubrey was still crying. Her crying didn’t seem to stop as Megan tried to pad her head in a consoling way.
“I want my mommy!” Aubrey wept.
Coarsely changing Aubrey in her pajamas, Megan lifted her in bed. However, Aubrey fought the movement until Megan grabbed one of her pillows. Putting the pillow on the little girl’s head, she started adding pressure until the movements started to slow down.
“Shhh, your mommy is here. Calm down now.” Megan shushed.
When the Aubrey’s crying stopped and her arms limply fell down her body, Megan removed the pillow. Her eyes were still opened, staring into the void. The life had left her not that long ago, she was still warm.
Megan smiled down at the body of the girl as she tucked Aubrey’s body in, crossing her arms around her teddy. Kissing the side of her head, she bid her goodnight as she walked away from her niece she just robbed of a future.
-
A defeated sigh left Josie’s mouth as she hung up the phone. The social worker she spoke to was not interested in telling her anything else but “they are fine” and “their aunt is a nice lady”. They had left 5 hours ago with no intention to come back until requested by the police department.
With a huff she moved towards the desk she had been sitting at to pack things up and call it a night. Looking at the clock it was already 11 p.m. Tomorrow she would make sure to see the kids, with or without Hotch’s permission.
At the same time Hotch entered his hotel room, it was a rare occasion he wasn’t the last one to leave the office or precinct. As he opened his door, he felt his phone buzz. He snatched his phone from his pocket as he heard the ringtone play.
“Yes Garcia” Hotch answered.
“Sir, Megan Barlow suffers from manic episodes. She suffered serious head injury from the accident and was prescribed a medicine called Fluphenazine, also known as Prolixin. However, Megan hasn’t been to the pharmacy to pick up last months order. Her psychosis contained mostly delusions and hallucinations.” The blonde technical analyst finished.
Without a word, he hung up the phone. The hotel was 30 minutes away from Megan Barlow’s house, while the precinct was only a 10-minute drive. With a sprint he ran towards JJ’s and Emily’s room, knocking on the door without a wait. He ran around the hall, knocking on all the team members doors. As they all opened the door, they looked at his anxious demeanor.
“We need to go now! Get dressed now and meet me outside in 5.” He barked. Everyone closed their doors in a hurry to change in something appropriate.
With a sigh he opened his phone to call a certain brown-haired agent.
-
An unknown number flashed on her screen, “Hello, this is agent Lovejoy.”
“Lovejoy, its agent Hotchner. I need you to drive to Megan Barlow’s house now. Take reinforcements with you. Whoever you can find, be prepared for what you’ll see.”
“Sir, what is going on?” She asked reluctantly.
“Megan Barlow is suffering from manic episodes, without medication. She is a danger for herself and for those kids. Go now.” He ordered.
She pinched the bridge of her nose, and with a heavy heart answered, “Yes sir.”
-
In the meanwhile, Ben and Scott walked upstairs to the room they were supposed to sleep in. Their sister already sleeping steadily in her bed.
Scott was fully changed in his pajamas as their aunt came in. Her cheerful spirit off-putting as she looked at them. Ben walked into the room with only his shirt and underwear on.
Before he walked towards his bed, he went to give his sister a kiss, like their mom always did. What he didn’t expect was for his lips to touch her cold forehead.
“Aunt Meggie, she isn’t breathing! She is so cold! I-I think she is dead!” Ben yelled.
Megan turned around, smile still on her face.
“Nonsense sweetie, she is just sleeping. Now listen to mommy, its already late. You have soccer practice tomorrow.” Megan answered in a monotone voice. She sounded almost robotic.
Ben jumped from the bed his sister laid in. “She is not sleeping! Please come look at her!”
The smile vanished from Megan’s face as she started walking towards Ben. Grabbing his wrist she spoke calmly, “You’re going to wake up your sister. Now go to bed.”
“No, what is wrong with you? Look at Aubrey!”
With a tug he freed his wrist from her grip. This only seemed to anger Megan more as she launched for him again. With a panicked look Ben made a run for the other side of the room, connecting to the bathroom door.
“Scotty, run! Go get help!” Ben screamed at his younger brother.
With a nod, Scott ran for the door of the room. However, this made Megan’s attention shift from Ben to Scott. With a swift turn she followed Scott down the hall. Ben followed the two with a dash.
“Stop with these games! You two have soccer practice tomorrow and now it’s time for sleep!” Megan puffed.
Instead of running for the stairs, Scott decided it was best for him to lock himself up in Megan’s bathroom. What he didn’t realize is that there was a second door for entering, connected to her bedroom. Instead of waiting in front of the hallway door, she made a turn for her own bedroom. Allowing Ben to get to the stairs already, where he waited for his little brother to come out the bathroom.
Afraid his brother wasn’t getting out in time, Ben screeched at him, “Scott, she is coming! Hurry, get out of the bathroom!”
Unlocking the door, Scott came running for the stairs. Ben and Scott tried running down fast but Megan followed rapidly behind. With big strides, she grabbed onto Scott’s pajama collar. The tug on his collar made his head collide with her hip, which made his feet slip from the step he was originally standing on. Megan’s reflex kicked in as she released Scott’s collar as soon as she grabbed it.
With horror Ben and Megan watched as the little boy tumbled down the stairs, landing with a sickening crack. Scott wasn’t moving and his neck was bend in an awkward angle. He laid silently at the foot of the stairs.
Ben looked down at his brother, “Scott!”
It didn’t take long for reality to kick in. Ben realized Megan was still on the stairs, only a few feet away from him. His heart raced as he ran for the door, passing his brother in the act.
Megan ran after him, “Come back you little shit” You listen to me now!”
-
Never had she driven this fast. Never had she run as many lights as she had now. Luckily for her, she was alone in the SUV and the roads weren’t busy at this hour. Police cars escorting her with sirens blaring also made driving towards the house a lot easier.
As they almost reached the house, a small blonde figure came into sight. He wasn’t wearing much else than a pajama and underwear and it looked like he was running for his life. He didn’t stop running until he touched the first police car with his hand.
Josie made her car come to a halt, jumping out, not even bothering to close the door. When she almost reached Ben, she saw the reason he was running. Megan came into sight, a sneer edged on her face as she was running after Ben.
A few police officers stopped her before she could reach Josie, Ben hiding safely behind her leg. Only when Megan was cuffed and seated in the car Ben dared to speak.
“Miss Josie, she- she.” Ben tried to whisper, adrenaline leaving his system.
Josie bend over to get to Ben’s eyelevel. She moved her hand through his hair as he started to cry. That’s what it took for Josie to take Ben into a bone crushing hug, without intending to ever let go.
Another car stopped at the scene, out came Katherine Cole. In a straight line she walked towards Josie and Ben, who were still hugging each other.
“Josie, I think its best if you’d look in the house first. I’ll stay here with Ben.” She spoke as she softly put her hand on Josie’s shoulder.
With a nod, she let go of Ben. His cheeks tearstained as she wiped them with her thumb. “I’ll be back soon. You stay here with Katie, okay?” she whispered to the boy.
With a silent nod from Ben, Josie stood up. Turning around, she walked up to the house. Two officers stood outside the door. One of the men made eye-contact with her, shaking his head as she walked up to the door.
From that moment things seemed to move in slow-motion.
When she pushed the door, she saw a white sheet lying at the end of the hallway. A forensic photographer moving around it. Taking pictures of everything that could lead to or was evidence.
With small steps she reached the men photographing, looking at him with questioning eyes. He bent over, lifting the sheet slightly. Revealing a bruised looking Scott, neck broken from the fall he endured. She stared for a moment.
There was a loud ringing in her ear as she looked at the man again. He was speaking but no noise seemed to come from him. Tears pooled in her eyes, she blinked at him a few times before she saw him pointing up the stairs.
Walking the stairs felt like she was carrying the world on her shoulders. Already dreading what she was about to see.
The whole hallway upstairs was crowded with police officers. They sheepishly looked at her. She neared the doorway to a room that seemed to be a children’s one. Taking a deep breath, she stepped around the corner.
What she saw made the tears leak from her eyes, tears she had been fighting so hard since entering the house.
Infront of her was little Aubrey, clearly lifeless as she laid still in her pink bed, holding her stuffed animal.
Almost as if in a daze, she walked towards the exit of the house. The ringing in her ears only growing louder.
At the entrance she found her trusted unit chief Katherine, opening her arms to catch Josie in a warm hug. Looking over her shoulder, Josie saw the BAU team had arrived.
As Katherine led a crying Josie away, they came to face the six members of the Behavioral Analysis Unit. Every one of them looking as stunned as the next one.
With a quiver, Josie looked at them before taking a seat on the sidewalk. Katherine moving to the side to talk to the sheriff. JJ came to sit next to her, offering her an arm to cry on. Silently they sat together, weeping about the tragedy that had just occurred.
Minutes passed before JJ and Josie decided to get up from the spot they had been sitting at. When they stood up, Josie heard someone clear their throat behind her. As both JJ and Josie turned around, JJ was queued at to let them have a moment
Aaron looked at Josie and Josie looked at Aaron, a second between them passed in silence.
“You, uh, shouldn’t blame yourself for this. We had no idea this would happen, and you handled it very well.” Hotch spoke hesitantly.
A scoff escaped Josie’s lips; her eyebrows flashed up in surprise.
“You’re right, I shouldn’t blame myself. I blame you”
She pushed past him. Walking towards the car, only to leave the unit chief with a heavy heart.
-
When the BAU arrived back at the office, the case was wrapped up. Megan Barlow confessed to killing her sister and brother-in-law, which send her spiraling. The manic episode she endured yesterday made her forgetful about the death of her niece and nephew. She would receive treatment at the jail she would stay, for how long was still to be determined.
As each member of the team walked to their desk, they started doing paperwork. Writing up their reports of what happened. The mood was heavy, making the writing of the report extra hard.
Suddenly JJ’s phone rang, revealing a Maryland phone number.
“Yes, this is agent Jareau” she answered the voice on the phone.
A moment passed before she spoke again, “Alright ma’am, thank you for letting me know. We’ll be in touch.”
Walking towards the group, she broke the news she just heard. The group huddled together in gossip, while their unit chief came walking back from the break room with a cup of coffee in hand.
“What is going on?” he questioned.
The group broke apart as they all stared at him. JJ turned around and took a step towards him to speak.
“Sir, Katherine Cole just called. Josephine Lovejoy has turned in her badge and gun. She quit.”
To be continued.

CATCHING MY BREATH, STARING OUT AN OPEN WINDOW
Susie Carmichael is based on Susie from Rugrats. She is a 25 year old human, lounge singer, and uses she/her pronouns. She has no powers. Susie is portrayed by Alyah Chanelle Scott and she is open.
CATCHING MY DEATH, AND I COULDN’T BE SURE
Susie wasn’t born in Evermore, but she’s been there so long, she figures she may as well have been. She hardly remembers now what life was like before the family woke up in an unfamiliar house in an unfamiliar town. She was only a child, but she was a child to overachieving parents who weren’t very accepting of the unplanned change for awhile. Her dad was a bigshot cartoon writer, her mother a French chef, airline pilot and doctor; their lives revolved around not being trapped outside of the cities their businesses were in, and their stability was ripped out from underneath them. They had worked so long and hard to get where they were, only to lose it all without warning. But eventually, after watching Susie become friends with the neighborhood kids and becoming friends with their parents, too, they began to settle in and appreciate the calm of the small town. They found jobs there, their other children enjoyed school and truthfully, it felt more like home to them than anywhere else had. Susie filled the protective, supportive role when it came to the neighborhood kids, butting heads with Angelica on the regular, but still considering her one of her best friends.
Opportunities in Evermore seemed limited to her parents after the colleges they’d gone to, but Susie felt like there were almost too many choices. She wanted to make them proud, she wanted to be successful, but most of all, she wanted to be happy. And the thing that made her happiest was music. She was a naturally talented singer, winning many singing competitions over the years or placing in second and third at the very least. She was bilingual, she excelled in all of her classes, she was a gifted dancer at both hip-hop and ballet... anything she put her mind to, she was confident she could do it, but what she truly wanted underneath it all was to see her name in lights. Or even just stand in front of a small crowd singing along with her. She started out singing in coffee shops for free, and worked her way up until she landed a job at the Moonlight Casino. A lounge singer wasn’t her goal in life, but it was a start, and she was excited to see where it took her.
I HAD A FEELING SO PECULIAR
❀ Carmen DiCarmello: Susie met Carmen after she saw her cheering her on in the crowd at Neverland. They got to know each other over drinks, and she has really enjoyed hanging out with her a few times since. She drags her along to all the hotspots and she is just so... cool. ❀ Shona Samhain: She works almost all of the same shifts at the casino with her, and Susie is as nice to her as she can be, but there’s something about Shona that is just downright terrifying. ❀ Florence Marin: Flo gave Susie one of her first jobs singing at her café, and insisted on paying her for what was supposed to be a free gig. Though she makes hourly pay now, she still likes to come back and play at the V8 Café on occasion. It feels more homey.
THAT THIS PAIN WOULD BE FOR EVERMORE

My story of parenting
1
The term ‘parenting’ was new to me 11 years back when I had my first baby boy Parthiv. I just started living with him. I did everything I experienced and saw in my family. We watched cartoons together. We played hide and seek. We slept together. We listened to music on my mobile. He was my baby love. When he is 2 years old, keeping his social skills in our mind we found a wonderful place called Budding Minds International Playschool for him. Once we enter there it was a new beginning for both of us. I too started socializing for the first time in the last 4 years in Chennai. Of course, language was the villain there. Slowly I started conversing in public and making parental friends. The most interesting and surprising thing was attending an early childhood workshop of Ashok uncle which left behind so much new vocabulary related to the developmental phases of a child. Fine motor skills, neuron connections, overall development, skills, etc. I was fascinated by the science introduced there as I could connect everything in my two-year experience of motherhood with my son. I tried following most of the suggestions given by aunties there. And I believed I was doing a decent job as a parent. Even I stopped my normal TV time for him as I was the only 24X7 parent with him. Instead, I read for him. And I could see when he was 5, he became a voracious reader and I became his proud mom. But still on the move because of my priority and life in a flat, I couldn’t give any input into his social skills. I could manage him very easily as he is not a hyperactive smart child running through the corridors of the hospital during a doctor visit. He will be sitting patiently while the other children make a move all the time. As he was very silent and attentive in class, all his teachers were happy with him and they haven’t given any focus areas for him. When he was in grade 2, I could see he need to socialize more, he needs to be physically active. I started trying that but it was so difficult as he was in his comfort zone of reading books all the time. Being my first child, he was always my Guinea pig. Experimenting and learning from my mistakes was what I always did for him. Even though he had a gentlemanly image everywhere, I was worried about his physical and social activities. I tried many sports for him, and different skill bases classes for him but what I could see was a slight change in this area. What I wanted was his natural interest in doing things. Finally, I stopped worrying about his areas of improvement and started believing that every child is unique.
2
We stepped into my second motherhood when he was 4 years. This time I was more confident that I know the science of parenting and things which worked for him and what not worked for him. Pavithra the little bundle of joy brought more color to our family. I thoroughly enjoyed my motherhood. I focused on all the vocabulary related to parenting which I learned from the beginning. She became an independent child when she was 2 just before going to her play school. She was active and loved dance and songs. As Parthiv was a soft child there was no fight or conflict between them. It was easily manageable. She was talkative social and physically active from a very small age. Then I realized how important is the ambience for a child in their initial stages of development. I realigned my parenting views from experience. Before Pavithra was born, parenting was a little conscious effort for me. After that, I could relate their behavior according to scientific terms but I had no luxury of time to deal with it scientifically. I left them to grow with the flow. Correcting them on any specific behavior or attitude was the only thing I was focusing on.
3
They started growing together. They played together. I just monitored. My life, after Pavithra turned 2 , was much easy. All my physical and mental health resumed back. During the lockdown they both were busy with their world. No fights or conflicts. The only thing was small complaints which I left unattended which made them solve themselves. When they grew up a little more, their interests changed. Still, they managed to survive as no other friends were available for them during the lockdown. Both of them were different and unique in their way. They were independent as I started working and I was busy unlike before. They did activities themselves. I could see the change in their interests and skills if parental involvement is very less. Even if it is origami or any other activity, trying themselves may not make it perfect, but the skills they attain are incomparable. That was a great lesson I learned in my second motherhood.  As they grow, small disagreements started popping out between them. I understand it as they started growing and developing in the right way. The taste of a toddler and a child should be different by theory. We should be worried only if they have no disagreements. I would like to refer to my cousin’s greatest quote. When it is one child, we can say about sweet parenting. If it is more than 1, we are referees.  Diplomatically attending to their conflicts is a parenting skill. They both should feel separate that mama is listening to them and empathizing and appreciating them for their good behavior. That skill will come only when we start dealing with it.
4
Everything was very sweet and smooth until I was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. I had to undergo 6-month of treatment. Our whole life changed upside down. I never imagined or trained my children to deal with my absence. I believed that monitoring and guidance are always needed for them. I never believed before that Pavithra can sleep without me. I suddenly became a depressed parent. I thought all the qualities and values I imparted will be lost or will not be followed. But I could see they were adapting to my absence very easily. The independency they attained earlier helped them to manage their daily chores easily and it made the caretaker’s job easy. I was happy in that way. Also, when they started getting more comfortable, I could see they stopped doing many things which they did before. They slowly started changing. It was the toughest phase of my treatment life. I started explaining and tried convincing my parenting needs to their caretakers. But I understood that it was a pressure on them. They were showing their love by giving more comfort to them. Finally, I decided to stop worrying about my parenting. The greatest lesson I learned here is that a worried parent is a villain to the surrounding. I waited patiently. Slowly I realized that only my parental expectations got damaged. They were growing and developing in the ambiance. So many new skills which were not on my parenting list got added. I regrated worrying about my parenting. I learned again that we should just go with the flow. Monitor them. Guide them whenever needed. In these 11 years, I turned from an ignorant parent to a focused parent to a worried parent to a  Carefree parent. The transition involved many learnings and my own experience. I understand that every parent should have a unique parenting story like me. You should not compare it with others’ parenting. What you can get are some tips or techniques to tackle any specific issue. If we can see them without any parenting expectations, you won. You are the best parent. Then they are the best children! Embrace their uniqueness. Balancing their uniqueness and your expectation is the secret of best parenting.
I made many parenting mistakes with my children. But now I understand that parenting is an ocean. Understanding your mistakes is the milestone in your life as a parent. I will learn more and more when they grow and go through their different phases. I guess Parthiv is a scientist child and Pavithra is an artist child. It may change on the go. For the same reason, their needs are different. I am proud that I never compared them for anything. I corrected them when they compare themselves and worry. Nurturing and encouraging their skills is the only thing we should do. Without their interest imparting any specific skill will be a pressure for both the parent and the child. Another learning from my parenting experience. Conditional parenting doesn’t work most of the time.
Yesterday’s parents are preparing today’s children for tomorrow. This a beautiful parenting quote I have read recently. Keeping this statement in our parenting is very critical. Make a beautiful bond with them and paste it with love and trust. I don’t know, how it is to me now. But I want to taste the flavored bond with my children. I am blessed to have them in my life.

biography.
Born in Minnesota, 3D and his family moved to Grimrose when he was five years old, just in time for him to start at a local kindergarten and get really integrated with the community.
The town had a reputation in certain circles, one that was of great interest to 3D’s parents, Shawna and David. The pair have been fascinated by cryptids and other supernatural phenomena their whole lives, and have dedicated a lot of time to the pursuit and study of said phenomena - they actually met in college, each on separate trips to Oregon hoping to catch sight of Bigfoot.
Shawna and David perhaps aren’t the sort of people you’d immediately associate with a place like The Clearing. They’re both bermuda-shorts-wearing, fanny-pack-owning, glasses-on-a-string-around-the-neck types, aggressively midwestern and unfailingly mild-mannered and kind. Still, they built their little haven from the ground up, and it’s become a must-see on the local tourist trail. 3D loves them and is proud of them, even though they’re extremely cringe.
3D has worked at The Clearing for most of his life, in the way children of a family business tend to do. It’s not as if he’s ever worked particularly hard, mind - he’s just part of the furniture, at this point, and doesn’t have much drive to change that. He did personally design some of the weird merch they sell, though.
His older sister is kind of a go-getter, and even though there’s love there, their opposite personalities sometimes cause tension. 3D has never really aspired to do anything, and has never even really left town - he’s got a lot of ideas, but no drive to see them through.
Mostly, 3D’s got a reputation for being kind of a burnout, and he’s decided he’s okay with that. If he was supposed to be doing something else with his life, surely there’d’ve been a sign by now?
other things. (drugs tw)
3D was daniel’s nickname before he transitioned - he had to pick himself a new first name beginning with ‘d’ to maintain his branding.
he really likes to paint, and has done a pretty bitchin’ mural on his bedroom wall (sorry to his landlord)
in theory, he has a car - in reality, he has a pile of scrap metal that vaguely resembles a car. it’s an old mustang that he bought with the half-baked idea of taking a road trip someday.
he's a pretty good bass player, but he could probably be a great bass player if he actually bothered to practice.
he’s been supplementing his income by selling weed since junior year of high school. somehow he still never has any money (it might be to do with the fact that he smokes as much as he sells).
he has the high score on the ms. pacman machine at the local arcade. initials ddd.
this is his favourite hat.

Prompt: write about what you hope for and wish for and want to be BUT also include what is holding you back. What are some of the obstacles in the way? Consider: things you want in life, where you hope to go, relationships you wish you had, BIG dreams, and also what is in your way– make a symbol out of one of those.
Child. Teen. Adult. God. Rewrite.
What I want? What do I want? My wants are ever changing colors in my mind.
I am a child, with wants.
I am a teen, with wants.
I am an adult, with wants.
I am a god, with wants.
I am not any of these things, but I want to rewrite my being to be.
I am a child. I want to be loved. I want to play with colorful toys, soft as dreams. To watch colorful cartoons that don’t mean a thing. I want to speak, and have everyone happily agree. I want to draw scribbles that go on the museum fridge. I want to cry, bangging my fists on the ground. Bang! Bang! Bang! I want to scream, with no concern for who sees or hears me. “It’s not fair! Not fair! Not fair! No fair at all!” I want to shout, when things don’t go my way. I don’t want to understand. Not the things I do now. “It’s not fair!” boils in my chest. I want to be held as I scream, bringing attention to the cruelities of not getting my desires met to my mother. A soft lullaby bringing salt streams to a halt. I want to be loved.
I am a teenager. I want to be loved. I want my hand held till I let go. I want to draw better art, and share it with the world. I want to write stories never told. I want to put soft dreams from childhood to the page. I want to have friends, near and far, that are close like family. I want to grow up to be someone my mom would be proud of. I want to achieve. I want to understand. I now know why everything is unfair. But I don’t understand why things have to be like that. I want my tears to drop on my page and not my mother’s chest. I want the world to feel my pain. “It’s not fair…” I want to say, quietly. I want to say why. All the hate and pain I see. A child can cry, but no one will listen to their sobs. Blindly agreed with, to keep from fussing. I don’t want to be heard. I want someone to listen! I want to be loved.
I am an adult. I want to be loved. I want to shove everything away. I want kids and teens to look up at me and see someone that they want to be. I want to be the person that they go to when the world doesn’t make sense. I want to listen when they say “it isn’t fair!” over and over. I want to say “then I’ll make a change” to them. I want to dry the eyes of children. I want to be the rock that the teens move. An adult that will change. I want to make an effort for them. The kids have wants, so they demand. The teens have wants, so they try to act. I’m an adult, I can do more than the other two. I can make time, I can get money. I can do everything in my power as a mortal man to give them the things I wasn’t given. I want to give them love! I want to be loved.
I am a god. I want to be loved. I want to make things; people, that will love me. I want to paint skies in beautiful colors. I want to make sweet smelling flowers, so sweet, that when they bloom the scent kisses my children’s cheeks. I want to make stars, that my children tell stories about. The stars I can make, are not as good as the ones my fellow gods made stories about. But my children do not know of any better. I want to give them better though. I want to hear their cries, from the youth to the old. Hearing their wants and desires. I let them suffer so much. They cry “make the world fair!”, but I can’t. I can, but their lives would lose meaning. The flowers would just be there. The sky wouldn’t be seen as art. The stars wouldn’t send my message. So, they suffer. The humans, the animals, the angels, the demons, the lower gods. They suffer for the next good day, they don’t know will come. Their every day can’t be happy, because I want them to feel genuine joy. As their god, I understand. To feel as though the one that made you doesn’t care for you. But I also see from a god’s perspective. My life isn’t fair, but it’s worth living. I want them to see worth in their own existence. I want my children to see the message the universe I gave them is. “I love you, I hope this imperfect world is enough to show that!” I want them to see my love, and in return? I want to be loved.
But I am none of these things. I was forced to grow up, my childhood stripped away by greed. I blinked, and I am almost grown up, but I also feel so young. I feel like an adult that is a kid, or a kid that is an adult, more than a teen. I am not ready to be an adult yet. I am not strong, I am not ready for power. I can’t be there for sobbing children, or for teens that want change. I have no power to create life. Just a pencil in hand. I just make sad stories with bitter sweet ends. I am none of these things, that I say I am.
I am all of these things at once, and I am nothing at all.
I am a child.
A teen.
An adult.
A god.
Rewritten, to be all at once. Canceled out. All wanting love.
