A problem with being a fan of SVSSS is I can never tell if I am looking at things too deep.

Yes, it's a comedy. Yes, a lot of it is about "so, uh, you know how real people would react to this situation?" Yes, it's still a comedy.

Meanwhile, I'm over analysing the bits of Regret of Chunshan we see plus Liu Mingyan's backstory to work out what this would mean for her sexuality.

Most of what I've got at the moment is that the way Xian Shu is aggressively women only and iirc very concerned with maintaining its disciples virtue (of course, its not like the disciples are going to want to despoil their own virtue, the risk comes from outsiders)... like. That does tend to give people noncon kinks. Especially of the flavour in Regret of Chunshan.

I do also think the idea that women like m/m because they can explore sex and power dynamics without it being [wiggle hands] uncomfortably close to their experience is a bit overplayed, but... yeah. It's plausible for Liu Mingyan.
