Kimi (in March 2021): I close it? You won’t open it and put it in a new envelope? (Interviewer: No I don’t have new envelopes; they’re expensive.) Come on, smells like a scam for sure. I have zero trust in you. Should take a photo to make sure it’s the same one.

Episode 6! And aw man, this show really loves to break shit. :D Also, damn yes - this is the Naoto I know! Calm and mild-mannered Naoto is nice, but on-edge and angry Naoto is the best!
Anyway...
Good-bye La Resistance. Your heart was in the right place, but oh your methods were shitty. I hope Emily is OK, though.
Naoto just doesn't get a break, does he. :D;;
I looooved the Naoto vs Takuya showdown, with the two of them hurling stuff at one another. :D Like, it's so silly but so Night Head. Also, it did look cool, especially everything Naoto did Naoto being all "WTF MAN WHO EVEN CARES ABOUT YOUR PARENTS YOU'RE TRYING TO KILL ME" and Takuya blowing that car up, that was a nice shot.
It was pretty great though, the way it kind of went like this: "My parents!" "What about them?!" "MY PARENTS GODDAMMIT" "OH FFS WHO CARES" "WHY DID YOU TAKE THEM AWAY" "...wait wait wait, what? I don't even know--" "HUAAAAAARRRGGGHHHHH--!!!!"
Also, them tearing up the parking lot... guys, yes, I get it that it's cool and all, but... you're underground... you may want to be careful, is all I'm saying.
Anyway, so hey, bossman confirmed that they're after the Kirihara bros, and I'd bet money that Kimie gave Takuya & Yuuya false memories re: their parents.
But Takuya, my dude... look at Naoto... I know the white hair may be confusing, but how old do you think he is?
Takuya is not very smart, is he. Then again, it all started with Yuuya not thinking about the exact same thing, so. :D;; Kuroki bros: not the sharpest knives in the drawer.
Oh wow, they all disappeared? :O I'd expected Naoya or Yuuya to do the disappearing thing at one point, but it seems someone else did it to them this time. Or was it Naoya doing it? (Since Naoto got spirited away, too.) OH THE CLIFFHANGER.
Moral of the story: if you buy a car insurance make sure that it covers "collateral damage in fight between overpowered psychics" as well.

Fruits Basket - Vol.16
Fruits Basket has so many flashbacks. There's just so much going on, in the present but also in the past. Last book, it was focused on Yuki, and a section of his childhood. In this book, however, the focus is on Kyo, who apparently met and kinda talked with Tohru's mom, Kyoko. (let's hope I don't confuse their names 😬)
So, most of this started simply because Kyo took a nap on the floor. This is why you don't nap on the floor. Sure, maybe it feels nice, sometimes, to lie on the floor, but if you're anything like me, you'll get stuck. Kyo didn't, but he doesn't have a busted hip, so he has that going for him.
Anyway.
So he was thinking back to when he met Tohru's mom, who started talking about her past. It's never really said why or when this happened, but I'll just think that Kyo forgot about the particulars. It seems like it happened when he was pretty young, so it'd make sense.
It seems like Kyoko's life was kinda similar to Uotami's life, in that her relationship with her parents was abysmal, and she often acted out. She got herself into a "bad crowd", and rarely went to school. Her dad was said to not think about his family, and her mom only did things to keep up with appearances. They never went out as a family, and Kyoko felt ignored and/or unwanted. It was a chance happening that Kyoko even ended up meeting Katsuya (who would later become Tohru's dad). She was at school, and she got called aside and put in a separate room, which is when they first met. She was yelling up a storm, and Katsuya wanted to know what she was so angry about.
This particular incident was shortly after her dad had basically told her that she should be more grateful for what she's gotten in life, to which she responded with "Who even asked me if I wanted to be born?", and this was clearly still floating around in her mind. As she continued yelling at Katsuya, it became apparent that what she was yelling at Katsuya was what she felt herself, which is why is made sense that she quickly broke down into tears. This was especially the case after he said that he thinks she does want people to care about her, and she does care about what people are saying (otherwise, she probably wouldn't be bothered by it). After all of this, Katsuya took her to a ramen place, just completely cutting class.
Kyoko was confused by Katsuya, but after meeting him, she started trying to better her life. It was mostly small things, like showing up at school. She didn't go to any of her classes, but she was at school (which sounds extremely boring to me, but whatever). She was able to talk to Katsuya a little bit more, but not a lot, seeing as he was a student teacher, he had things to do. When the time came for Katsuya's training to end, he revealed that he wasn't going to continue on to be a teacher, that he just didn't like it. This, understandably, bummed out Kyoko, because she was looking forward to seeing him everyday. Once he left, she would probably never see him again. Fortunately for the story (and Tohru's general existence), it wasn't. He ended up getting a job at a pharmaceutical place, and visited Kyoko on the weekends to help her with her schoolwork, and Kyoko tried to get back into school. The gang that she was a part of didn't like that much, and beat her up a bunch for trying to leave it. They beat her up so bad she had to go to a hospital, and wasn't able to get into high school. Her parents refused to visit her in the hospital, and after she was unable to get into high school, they completely disowned her.
Thankfully, Katsuya was nearby (presumably because he wanted to see if she was okay, because after she woke up in the hospital and learned it was too late to take the entrance exams, she didn't try to talk to him, thinking that his help and efforts were all for nothing), and overheard Kyoko's parents, and that's when he announced his intentions to marry Kyoko, which took both her and her parents by surprise. As they were walking away from Kyoko's parent's house, Kyoko still couldn't believe that Katsuya was serious, but he totally was. He said that he saw her as a very genuine person, particularly in their first meeting (which is, he said, when he fell in love with her, which I think is kiiinnddaa weird, but okay), and that he has full intention on marrying her. He wished that he could've made it a bit more of a happy surprise, but in the moment, it was basically the only way that he could guarantee that nothing bad would happen to Kyoko.
Kyoko bristled at the idea of a wedding, and apparently, so did most of the Hondas. There's probably a host of reasons, ranging from how Kyoko was eight years younger than him, to the fact that she used to be in a gang, but there was one person who was supportive of Kyoko and Katsuya: Katsuya's dad.
When Kyoko found out she was pregnant, she freaked out. She didn't feel like she could be a good mother, because of the way she was. How could a person with her background be a good mother? The way that her parents treated her as a kid was awful, and she was terrified that she would end up doing the same to her child. Katsuya pointed out that since she was already so aware of these problems, that she would do her most to avoid doing the same to her own child. They might make mistakes, but they would try their hardest to do their best. And so, Tohru was born. What a cute little round organism.
For a couple years, everything was happy. Katsuya and Kyoko both loved Tohru to pieces, it was great. Then, Katsuya fell sick, and ended up dying. This destroyed Kyoko, because there was such an emphasis on togetherness between the two, especially when it came to raising Tohru. She was completely desolate, almost angry at the world that it continued existing as if nothing had happened. She came out of mourning, a little bit anyway, after going out to see the ocean, and overhearing a mom and daughter talking to each other, and she realized that she couldn't remember if she had even talked to Tohru since Katsuya's death. She raced home, and saw Tohru sitting at the entrance, mostly asleep, and say "Welcome home". It was something that Kyoko and Katsuya used to say a lot, so it meant a lot to Kyoko.
The flashback concluded with Kyoko saying that, "Maybe the world doesn't need me. But there's still one person who's kind enough to need me. I only need that to live." Kyo then asked her if she still missed Katsuya, but Kyoko(why are their names so similar ;-;) didn't really respond. I mean, of course she still missed him, she probably missed him everyday, but she still had to get through life and raise Tohru. It was all about how she went on from that, that mattered.
Then we get reminded that this is, in fact, a dream that Kyo is having, because it swerves completely of track, and now there are bloody women on the ground, with other faceless women saying weird shit. I do not have really any idea who these women are, I assume one of them is Kyo's mom, and maybe the other is Kyoko? I don't really know, but the dream (at this point it's a nightmare) ends with Tohru, wounded and unconscious, in the place of the first woman, and there's blood of Kyo's hands. Whoa! What the fuck!
After he wakes up, he's pretty shaken (with good reason, like wtf, whoa) but after Tohru fretted over him, he just waved off the concern like "It's fine I'm fine I totally didn't have a freaky dream it's fine", which is the number one reaction to something like that, in case you were wondering.
Now, let's move completely onto a new topic: Machi. It starts with a callback to a brief scene a few books ago, after the Student Council had nabbed a whiteboard, and were yelling about what colors everyone was. It focused mostly on Yuki asking Machi what color she likes, and she couldn't answer him, because she couldn't imagine herself as anything other than "blank".
The Council had finished up a bunch of work, and they (mostly Kimi) were thinking of a way to celebrate, by going out to a shop or something idk what people do with their free time, and on her way out, Yuki called out to Machi, asking if she was going to come as well. She didn't really say anything about it, but Kimi gave her a slip of paper of the address and such, and they all went their separate ways.
Machi went back home, to the sound of a phone ringing. It seems to be her mom, asking what she's been doing, if anything's changed, then just kinda called her boring and dull, which is really nice of her to do. We see that Machi had to deal with higher expectations after Kakeru rebelled and stopped putting up with their family's bs, and that her room looks like a storm blew through it. Seeing as that seems to be the way she releases her emotions, it makes sense. And if she never has anyone over, why would she clean up? It'd probably be a waste of time.
After the call, she basically just passes out in her room, and wakes the next morning to shuffle off to go to the place where everyone is meeting up. She didn't even bother changing out of her school uniform the previous day. On her way to the meet-up place, she thinks about how she feels empty, and broken. The things that Yuki has said to her really seem to be making her think about stuff, mostly of her self-perceived lack of meaning, which she either never really thought about before or came to terms with, but after his questions (which were basically like "oh hey what's your favorite color"), she's gotten all confused.
Anyway, when she gets to the place where they're all meeting up (probably nearby a train station or something idk I don't know these things), Yuki shortly shows up, and she responds to his greeting by promptly collapsing, causing stuff to fall out of her bag, like a bottle opener, and that leaf that Yuki gave her as a souvenir of that one place from a while back,, the field trip. She's kinda embarrassed, because she put them in her bag after she had woken up, and so it showcases something most un-admirable: being kinda groggy and disorganized after waking up. When Yuki asks about the Leaf, she says it's nothing, it's not the same leaf, it is the same leaf, it doesn't matter, whatever! (is it important to say that she made it into a bookmark? idk, but that's how it wasn't torn to shreds: she made it into a bookmark)
Kakeru arrives to see Machi and Yuki wrestling over the leaf, one insisting that it's no big deal, and the other saying it was nice that she had held on to it. It was a pretty confusing scene, honestly. After everyone had arrived, Kakeru told Yuki that he'd never seen Machi act so flustered, which was pretty interesting.
I'll conclude this section with one thing: Machi likes the color red? Interesting. Red is a nice color.
Anyway, I'm nearly done! (When did these things start getting so long I gotta cut these down somehow I seriously doubt anyone would read these all the way to the end ;-;) It is nearly New Year's, and there are two things going on: Tohru is going to stay with Kazuma, and Yuki is going back to the main Sohma house, just for the one night. (Tohru is staying at Kazuma's place because Yuki is going to the main Sohma house, because,,,, reasons?? Idk)
There's nothing much of note for Tohru being at Kazuma's house, but Izusu is there as well, so maybe we can get some progression on the whole curse-breaking thing?? Hopefully?? Maybe not.
There is one moment at the Sohma house that I do want to talk about, and it happens between Akito and Yuki, where they're just sitting there, and Akito says something like, "You're not running away anymore? Cool. I forgive you for that." and Yuki starts to say that he forgives Akito as well, then says that he doesn't want to place blame on anyone, because, in the past when he's done that, it hasn't really helped him. He said that there are some things about himself that he would like to improve upon, and Akito swiftly responded to that by breaking a pitcher and scratching Yuki's face with it. Nice, Akito. Real nice.
Yuki gets help for it, but everyone kinda sat there like O_O for a few seconds (which, like, yeah. I'd respond the same way.) While Hatori is patching Yuki up, Yuki apologized to him for what happened back when Yuki was a little kid, with Hatori erasing all those kids' memories, and how he was only thinking about his own pain, and that he might have been blaming Hatori in a way, this whole time. Hatori waved it off, it was no big deal, but it was nice of him to do, nonetheless.
Okay, that was the end of the book. Finally. Why do I make these so long? Idk.

This is my opinion on Kimi’s merch. I just wanna say that I also love this man a lot, he was basically why I fell in love with the sport itself. I’ve supported this man for his driving and interview ways but that doesn’t mean I agree with everything he does.
The merch line I’m talking about is the one with West Coast Choppers (WCC), founded by Jesse James (JJ). Things will be hyperlinked for easy reference. This gets very long. I’m long-winded.
So in case you didn’t know, Kimi’s merch has raised some eyebrows due to certain symbols on them that could point towards the Nazi Party. Namely being his face mask and t-shirt design as seen below:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, where does the Nazi symbolism come in? Let me start with the face mask. On the right of “7″, there is a symbol, and it’s supposed to point towards WCC, since it is their logo (1st in collage below).
However, it is more commonly known as an Iron Cross (2nd pic below) and it has been in use for a very long time, ever since 1813 as a military decoration. Nazi Germany picked it up in 1933, with an added swastika in the centre (3rd pic below). Now compare those three and look at the logo of WCC, pretty damn similar right?
The Iron Cross, with the swastika, is still unfortunately used by and seen on neo-Nazis. It’s also recognised as a hate symbol. In the article linked, it is said that bikers adopted the Iron Cross to add “shock value” or to signify rebellion and as time went on, it became a logo used by many on clothing, equipment, etc. So we do have to keep in mind what context we see the Iron Cross in, as it’s not always representing neo-Nazism or white supremacy.
Tumblr media
JJ has said before that his logo is actually based on the Maltese Cross (2nd pic below), and I don’t need my glasses to see that they’re very different.
Instead I think he might’ve actually been referring to the Cross Pattée (3rd pic below), which is a similar cross that at times, is mistakenly referred to as the Maltese Cross. However, it is worth noting that the Iron Cross is recognised as a variant of the Cross Pattée. (mentioned in the Wiki articles of Cross Pattée and Maltese Cross)
So, the WCC logo is a Cross Pattée, which the Iron Cross is a variant of, but definitely not a Maltese Cross, as stated by JJ.
Tumblr media
So now you would say, it’s a Cross Pattée, not an Iron Cross, therefore there’s no link to Nazis. I can agree with you on that, it is a stretch to connect the 2 at this point, but let me add more context as I go along in this post. Bear with me.
-
Moving on to the t-shirt design.
“Kimi” is designed with a lightning bolt for the “K”, to represent him being fast, as seen from the t-shirt’s name, “Kimi Fast As Heck Tee”.
Though...there is also a hate symbol that depict lightning bolts, called the SS Bolts (seen below). As you can tell from the name, it’s also related to neo-Nazism and white supremacy. You might say, “both bolts (“K” and SS bolt) are different”, which I agree they are, but who in their right mind would copy it so blatantly? Would you want WCC to add another bolt? Make the base of the bolt in the “K” to be flat as well? This is already after they’ve been accused before of using Nazi symbols and having their merch outright banned for it.
Like the Iron Cross, the bikers adopted it for themselves. So, we cannot say for sure that just because they sport this symbol, they’re bad.
I know lightning bolts are used EVERYWHERE. Even Harry Potter had one on his forehead...does that mean he’s bad too?! No. With context provided, things can change. So if the books had mentioned Harry doing salutes with his right hand and swastikas decorating his room then that bolt would mean something...🤷🏻‍♀️y’know🤷🏻‍♂️.
Tumblr media
So is it still a stretch at this point to say WCC/the design is linked to neo-Nazis? Yes, but the stretch has lessened a little bit.
-
We move on to just WCC and JJ now. I’m just going to straight up use these pictures lol. I don’t think there’s anything much to say for the 1st pic, it speaks a thousand words. 2nd pic, I understand it’s his friend doing something stupid but JJ seems fine with it and it’s obvious he doesn’t find it wrong, as evidenced by the 1st pic.
Tumblr media
Now, let’s look at a bit of WCC’s merch that I found online. There are other designs I wanted to include as well but I’ll just focus on these two.
Left | Right
Tumblr media
Do they look familiar? No?
Tumblr media
How about now?
The Reichsadler (Imperial Eagle), is the heraldic eagle used by the Holy Roman Emperors and in the coats of arms of Germany, even till now. Different eras in Germany had different depictions. Nazis used the ones above, with swastikas.
It is also recognised as a hate symbol, appropriated by neo-Nazis and white supremacists. In their case, the swastika can be replaced by other symbols such as the SS Bolts or Celtic Cross. In places where swastikas are prohibited, the inside of the circle/wreath are occasionally left blank.
Notice how both the swastika and WCC logo is tilted slightly, and how a wreath is being held by the eagle on the white shirt. The resemblance is uncanny, no?
Before you bring up the eagle depicted on the Great Seal of the United States, I’m just going to say, don’t. The designs are very different and original sketches of it dates all the way back to 1782. It uses a bald eagle, holds an olive branch and arrows on each leg and has a shield as the focal element.
The 2nd pic looks more like the 1st than the 3rd. Just saying.
Tumblr media
-
I’m at the end of my comparisons. If I see everything on it’s own, without taking into account the others for more background/context, of course there’s no link to Nazis or whatever. It’s just a Cross Pattée and a lightning bolt. No big deal, right?
Bikers, which is what WCC is about, did use the Iron Cross and SS Bolts for shock value. They weren’t promoting neo-Nazism or white supremacy with them.
But now that I’ve shown you the pictures of JJ and his friend doing a Nazi Salute and other merch resembling Nazi symbols, it kinda adds up. It’s no longer a stretch to say it’s linked, it’s reasonable. I’ve given you more context, do with it what you will.
To me, WCC designs are in very poor taste since they are based on “outlaw biker culture”, who literally appropriated them from Nazis. Am I calling them Nazis? No, because I don’t know what went through their minds when they designed and approved them, so I can’t say that. I am, however, calling them really fucking stupid though, and that’s being nice. They have shown that they do not care for what the symbols represent and the history behind it, it’s being wilfully ignorant.
So for Kimi to collaborate with them? It’s disappointing for sure. For him to wear it so blatantly? I’m just gonna say he’s an idiot, because I really don’t think he knows what it means, which...might seem confusing but Kimi really doesn’t seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to stuff outside of F1 cars. Really. I honestly think he sees things in a literal way so this collaboration to him is just with a famous person and motorcycles, nothing else. At this point, I just hope he stops wearing them and stops the collaboration.
-
So the above was the logical and rational part of me explaining why I think it’s wrong for Kimi to have those symbols on his merch. It is my opinion and my perspective.
Now here comes the irrational part of me cause I feel like it’s really obvious?
The damn crosses are so similar, like wtf Cross Pattée or not, it still looks like a fucking Iron Cross, no?? And who do we think of when we think of the Iron Cross? Then there’s the SS Bolt, which is nothing on its own but seeing WCC’s other merch with the fucking eagle holding a wreath with the WCC logo tilted, JUST LIKE THE NAZI’S, isn’t it fucking obvious?? Omg like I don’t like people “reaching” or “twisting things to fit the agenda” but this is literally fucking not. I started out trying to defend Kimi in my mind but after reading about JJ and seeing the other WCC merch designs, I just can’t.
Context/background matters!! Though it wasn’t really a good one, please refer back to my Harry Potter and his lightning scar example.
I also liked what @mistressemmedi had to say about it here.
This post won’t show up in searches/tags so...haha fml I’m speaking into a void.

The forbidden crack! Untamed prompts: 15/? Kimi no Na Wa AU: “Seamless” [ok I changed stuff bc I’m well on my way to thirty and teenage love is fun and fresh until you realize you could technically be a parent yourself and then it’s all downhill from there. so the characters are adults, sorry about that] [title comes from (what I understand to be) a way of saying that goes “a goddess’s robe is seamless” which (supposedly) should mean a great plan coming together –which reminded me of fate and time and the whole underlying plot of the movie– or something perfect/the product of perfect craftsmanship. I was looking for info about weaving procedures and I stumbled across this:
From Wikipedia, under “Loom” “In Tang Dynasty, China, the goddess weaver floated down on a shaft of moonlight with her two attendants. She showed the upright court official Guo Han in his garden that a goddess's robe is seamless, for it is woven without the use of needle and thread, entirely on the loom. The phrase "a goddess's robe is seamless" passed into an idiom to express perfect workmanship. This idiom is also used to mean a perfect, comprehensive plan.”
There’s also reference to the legend of Vega and Altair, which is what the Japanese festival tanabata is based on. And my creative juices gave me a sugar high so...yeah] * No matter how isolated Gusu is known to be, preparations for the upcoming July festival attract people from all over the country. Time has relentlessly transformed what used to be a secluded and safe place for people to meditate in into a tourist location known for its cold springs and breathtaking sceneries. Yet, Lan Zhan wonders what cities and stories could possibly hide behind those mountains he has known for all his life.
Managing the temple of the goddess along with his older brother and uncle should bring him joy, but deep down he knows he’s still living beside them more out of obligation than anything else. Lan Huan himself feels trapped behind the usual mask of politeness and fake smiles, his heart still bleeding for the loss of his two precious friends in the span of five years. Their uncle Lan QiRen well may have taken them in when they were mere children, stepping in to take care of them in place of their mourning father after losing his wife... but Lan Zhan knows his brother doesn’t want to disappoint their elder in any way.
Falling in love not once, but two times in a lifetime should not be frowned upon... but Lan QiRen couldn’t stomach the idea of one of his nephews falling for a man the first time, let alone the second. Just having said goodbye to Nie MingJue when they were mere teenagers after their uncle had prohibited him from meeting with his nephew, Lan Huan thought he could have another chance at happiness with Meng Yao in his twenties... just for the other man to fall ill and move country to look after himself. Ever since, Lan Huan has stopped believing in ever being able to find happiness for himself and decided to accept his fate and manage the temple like their uncle did for most of his life.
The idea of celibacy doesn’t sit well with Lan Zhan, not for himself and certainly not for his heartbroken brother, but life outside Gusu seems so far away and unapproachable. Without them the ancient tradition of working the loom to create seamless robes would perish and most of the profits from the temple would fall dry if not for their hard work. Their mother used to be a seamstress herself, teaching them how to weave without breaking the delicate thread, setting the rhythm of their hearts with her feet moving on the pedals as they watched her work her magic day after day. Their robes are still valued for their absolute perfection, even if nowadays they’re bound to be bought not by emperors or kings, but by celebrities and politicians who just want to boast their ego in front of cameras and flashing lights. The set Lan Zhan himself has been working on will take another three months to finish and on top of that he uses his spare time to make the ribbons they sell at the local gift shop while his brother prepares the traditional talismans by hand, his calligraphy as delicate as the products of their weaving.
As the nights of the local festival approach and they practice the rituals in full traditional gear more to appease the tourists than anything else, Lan Zhan feels getting more and more tired the longer he wears the long wig and the heavy robes himself, wishing his heart could stop being so ungrateful for the life he was entrusted with. But the news of a comet quickly approaching them brings the promise of change as Lan Zhan looks up at the sky and wishes he was born in a different body. Just for once. Just to live at least once in that existence of his.
[more under the cut]
Wei Ying is in university (engineering major), living with his brother Jiang Cheng (marine biology major) in their sister’s tiny ass apartment. They keep her company while she waits for baby Jin Ling to be born, ZiXuan working day and night in the hospital fresh out of med school to get their family a bigger house. Wei Ying and Jiang Cheng moved in from the tiny Yunmeng and secretly hate the big city life, but their studies come first and they didn’t want to leave YanLi alone while pregnant. Their parents are still working in the countryside and couldn’t properly care for her, living so far away in Lanling.
Wei Ying works part time in a bar and the usual routine is so rooted in his system that he doesn’t even care anymore. Study, eat, work, sleep. Rinse and repeat. He would like to think his brother has it easier than him, but he’s even more elusive than him, studying in the library until his night shift in an art gallery as a guard. The poor guy doesn’t even sleep, let alone have a social life. Spring has just begun and YanLi still has a trimester to go, her spirits low even if she loves her child very much already. Keeping her company and helping her leading a normal life is their priority as her brothers, but sometimes Wei Ying wishes things were easier.
He doesn’t really want to become an engineer, or, at least... he used to want that. But he’s more interested in actually making stuff instead of taking a hundred calculus classes per semester. He wishes he could enjoy his studies more and maybe get a girlfriend or boyfriend to pass the time, not that he believes in romance or anything. Commitment sounds scary.
One day he wakes up and... nah, he’s still dreaming. The ceiling is wrong, he doesn’t live in an old traditional cottage with a view on... wtf is that a mountain? Fuck that he doesn’t have time to waste, he has a test today. Studied hard enough last night he fell asleep on the desk... better start getting ready.
So he goes to the bathroom and showers, too tired to even open his eyes. But the shampoo smells all wrong, what even is sandalwood? And he doesn’t like mint toothpaste. And why are his clothes a size bigger? He doesn’t even own a button down, what in the...?
Who the fuck is that in the mirror??!?
On the other hand, Lan Zhan wakes up on a desk, drool on the books, late for a test an angry stranger reminds him he has to take in half an hour at best. He is presented with a soup his body mechanically ingests out of habit as he tries to politely nod to whatever the kind woman in front of him is saying. (“You look sick, are you really okay?” / “A-Jie stop babying him” / “But I’ve never seen him so... quiet?” / “He’s probably pretending so that he can skip his test.”) But if he really has given his word for such a commitment... maybe he should just go.
Still, he doesn’t remember going to any university. That may be a problem.
His body feels different, but he never paid attention to his reflection. They don’t even own mirrors back at home anyway. He doesn’t remember his hair reaching well over his ears and under his jaw. Should he consider asking his brother to cut it for him? It feels greasy, should he fix it or?
As he tucks a strand behind his ear he realizes something is terribly wrong. From the tip of his nose to the width of his shoulders, from the clothes he put on without even thinking. The window of the shop under the apartment he’s just left shows him a stranger that he cannot recognizes for the life of his.
And now some funny stuff:
(If you are not familiar with the movie, go watch it. But if you are you should be fine with the following list so... enjoy)
Jiang Cheng loves dogs, but Wei Ying is allergic and they cannot get a puppy... so he de-stresses at a local dog café whenever he can. Wen Qing works there even if she’s a cat person and comments on how he’s secretly planning to murder her so he can get her job. They’re good friends and dated for a while before Wen Qing understood her lesbianism was stronger and Jiang Cheng’s chaotic bisexuality was leaning more on the boy section of the partner store anyway. They bitch about everything and everyone anyway.
Lan Zhan (in Wei Ying’s body) manages to arrive in university and take the test, getting perfect scores even if Wei Ying’s never got such a high mark. For the rest of the day he roams Lanling in awe, believing it’s just a very nice dream. He also discovers the existence of pet bunnies in a pet store and his life changes.
Wei Ying (in Lan Zhan’s body) is a mess. Lan Huan immediately notices something is wrong, but he hasn’t really smiled in several months and whatever is happening to WangJi is extremely entertaining to him. He sees him skipping the morning prayers right in front of Lan QiRen’s salad (so to speak) and he doesn’t seem to remember the existence of their uncle’s punishing bamboo stick.
He also clearly never used a loom in his life, but luckily Lan QiRen is too busy to notice as he welcomes tourists in the temple and explains them the history behind it. Lan Huan takes “Lan Zhan” out for a stroll and they sit down as Lan QiRen’s mellow voice explains the legend of the weaver goddess and the importance of the artisanal work they still keep practicing to this day. Transfixed, “Lan Zhan” smiles big at his brother and Lan Huan knows for sure this is not his WangJi at all.
Wen Qing finds “Wei Ying” petting bunnies in the shop where her current girlfriend MianMian works and notices how... awfully quiet he is. She thinks he bombed the math test and might be sad, but he doesn’t seem to recognize her when she waves her hand at him. She then reminds him he should be getting ready for work and he blanches at the idea. Eventually asking her “where he’s supposed to depart for” and honest to the gods Wen Qing ends up convincing herself he’s high as fuck.
Imagine “Lan Zhan” being reprimanded by Lan QiRen for -gods forbid- laughing too loud? Asking for a beer at the local tea house? Saying out loud that he craves meat when he’s vegetarian? That’s just a dream for poor Wei Ying, whatever! He’s having a great time and Lan Huan is this close to lose it when they practice the traditional rites together and “Lan Zhan” doesn’t know how to put the long wig on anymore.
Now imagine “Wei Ying” not knowing how to use a shaker at work, or how to make a martini, or the fact that he and a boy named Wen Ning are actually coworkers and not strangers. He goes back home at 3am with the feeling he has forgotten something important, but when he finally (finally) finds his apartment he falls asleep on the doorway. Too drained by the city life to even change out of his uniform.
Next day there’s no switch: Wei Ying wakes up in his body by the doorway, with Jiang Cheng coming back from his night shift and panicking hard; Lan Zhan wakes up in his bed but he’s somewhat grounded at 20 for... drinking beer?
Technical stuff now!
Lan Zhan lives in 2010 and he is 20, Wei Ying lives in 2015 and he is 20.
It’s LXC who suggest his brother to keep a diary for his dreams if they get too crazy (later on it will be revealed something shocking about LXC, but for now the journaling is just a “suggestion”)
WWX and LWJ switch every other night or so, and things change when WWX wakes up in LWJ’s body and finds the diary.
They keep in touch with diaries [bc I don’t think LWJ would have a phone like...ever, but I digress]
WWX notices the two Jades of Gusu are kept outside of their peers’ circles because other people think their family is weird: they still use courtesy names; they don’t eat meat; most of their relatives are believed to have died in celibacy without actually being monks themselves; they don’t drink alcohol and are deemed unsociable... and so on.
But it’s when he overhears people bashing LXC for “his past with several boys” and for “running away from society like his father” that WWX (in LWJ’s body) actually loses it and starts a fistfight right then and there until those losers stop muttering behind their backs.
In the meantime, ZiXuan comes back home to surprise YanLi... and LWJ is there (in WWX’s body) and the younger man almost doesn’t let him enter bc he doesn’t know who this strange man is and what does he want from Jiang Cheng’s sister?
LWJ also follows JC to his night shift one day bc he’s never seen an art gallery (but apparently WWX often trails behind his younger step brother anyway, so JC doesn’t notice anything weird... aside from how quiet the other is)
JC then takes that opportunity to ask his brother (while LWJ inhabits said body) if... if he’s depressed and needs help [“Wen Qing saw you petting bunnies too many times for you to be ‘just fine’. You can talk to me.” / it’s fine.” / “fuck that you’re not fine. Stop lying to me.” / “it’s just a transitional time for me, it will pass” / “who taught you such big words, what the fuck”] and then JC begrudgingly tells his brother than he loves him and doesn’t want him to be sad.
The next day WWX is back in his body and finds written down: “your brother tells me he loves you and that you should take better care of yourself” and WWX clowns the fuck out of JC the following day and JC is like “noPe. You’re fucking fine. Whatever, your fucking with me. You’re always fucking with me. Stupid of me to fucking care, gods forbid.”
LWJ starts developing feeling when he learns WWX defended Lan Huan + LWJ goes every night he can to the art gallery when he doesn’t have to work at the bar and learns there’s an entire section of the gallery dedicated to Gusu + but he doesn’t want to think about home for now, avoiding the exhibit, and so he learns more about JC and starts to think he would have lots of things to talk about with LXC.
Lan QiRen takes his nephews to their annual purification trip to Burial Mounds, to a cave hidden on the mountain where it is said the goddess met with her lover for the first time in the past. They leave their offerings and change the ropes securing the entrance of the cave with sturdier ones, which they have made themselves prior that year. It is said that whoever enters the cave will be granted a wish, so it’s responsibly of the Lan family to keep everyone else out until the lover of the goddess returns to be granted the wish to reunite with her. It’s a privilege the goddess has left for him to enjoy and no mortal should dare take that from him. Only those who wear the sacred headband of the Lan family can enter without being cast out of the cave and be forced to leave by the spirits.
WWX falls in love with LWJ a bit everyday: the little gifts and notes he finds on his desk for WWX to open and read every morning; the beautiful drawings LWJ makes of the mountains; the care he put in the white robes that should adorn a deity and not common human beings.
crushed with longing for WWX, LWJ wishes to meet with him one day (the real him) and so he runs away from Gusu on train and reaches Lanling and searches for him at the university. But he’s not there. He looks everywhere for him, but doesn’t find him. Until he stumbles into YanLi and it’s almost like there’s a wall between them: shocked, LWJ recognizes YanLi even if he knows she has never actually met him in real life; but the worst thing is that... she’s not pregnant. She’s not even at home as she usually is, but going to university herself and it doesn’t even seem like she’s even in a relationship with ZiXuan yet: the two of them not even sparing a glance to one another in the university corridors.
LWJ finds his words at long last, asking YanLi if her brother Wei Ying is well. She beams at him at first, elated to see her brother actually has friends outside of the family... “but you look around my age, right? What business do you have being friends with a fifteen year old boy anyway?”
Shocked, the last thing LWJ can do before leaving her alone is to give her a ribbon he made himself, the one that represents his heart. “I just know him by chance, he... he helped my brother once. I was wondering how to repay his kindness so I made this for him. Can you give it to him?”
That evening he goes back to Gusu and he prepares for the festival knowing the comet is coming. The last thing he wishes is to forget about Wei Ying, because -having realized there’s a discrepancy in timelines and that he has interacted with someone from the future for months now- he cannot possibly justify having developed feelings for a minor.
There are no more switches and WWX is left wondering what happened.
Now the sad part:
Under the weather for what happened, WWX follows JC around a lot and he even adopts a couple of bunnies to cope. YanLi is closer and closer to the due date and gets restless, forcing her brothers to clean up the entire apartment with her until everything sparkles for the baby’s arrival. They dig out an old box with all of YanLi’s stuff from university and LWJ’s ribbon appears out of nowhere. WWX immediately recognizes it for what it is.
[“I’m sorry A-Ying, I was supposed to give you this back then, but I forgot.” / “What are you taking about... why do you have a Gusu’s ribbon with you?” / “Ah, was your acquaintance from up there? He said you helped his brother once, or something like that... and he wanted to thank you. I’m really sorry.” / “How long ago was that A-Jie?” / “Five years or so? I think?”]
To this JC startles, saying that’s awfully weird, considering what happened to Gusu exactly five years prior. To which WWX is like ?pardon? and then JC takes them to the art gallery to the traditional art section, where the exhibit on Gusu is: there, WWX finally remembers how a relatively small rock has detached itself from the comet and destroyed Gusu in 2010 on the final day of the July festival.
On a display there, the siblings find one of the few things spared by the fire: an unfinished set of robes weaved with the precious heavenly silk, which was said to be made from the stars themselves.
Wei Ying cries all of his tears, neither JC or YanLi can console him and the only thing they come up with is that -maybe- their brother felt bad for forgetting to cherish a friendship... but they don’t remember if he had reacted so badly five years ago when the news of the fire at Gusu broke.
In the middle of the night, with the ribbon secured around his wrist, Wei Ying runs away and takes a train to Gusu. There are no more direct lines and he has to hike all the way up there... just to see a lake where the town was supposed to be. The crater so big it swallowed the ground where half of the city used to be.
Desperate, he wanders the mountains without knowing where to go, until his feet take him to the secluded path Uncle QiRen took him once. He follows it, noticing the same ribbons knotted around the trees he saw the first time he walked there. He follows the path and reaches the cave.
Inside, nothing happens. The talismans are still there, but -as he imagined (*eyeroll emoji*)- there’s no actual magic preventing him from entering. So he jumps over the white ropes made of ribbons and silk and gets inside the cave of Burial Mounds. He takes shelter there from the storm outside and thinks of Lan Zhan, of how much he misses him. And then he cries thinking about him and his brother and their uncle and the entire Gusu: because none of them deserved to die. And he wishes he can rewind time and save them all.
He faints in the cave and his wish is granted.
Now for the good part!
He wakes up in LWJ’s body (in 2010), the day after the boy’s impromptu trip to Lanling, the last day of the July festival. He gets to work as soon as he goes downstairs, determination painting his (well, LWJ’s) features to the point Lan Huan notices... and he has to say something.
While they ate breakfast, out of Lan QiRen’s sight, Lan Huan sits his “brother” down and tells him something unexpected: that he used to switch bodies with not one but with two people at the same time, NMJ and JGY.
That he managed to finally meet NMJ in their teens when the older boy came to Gusu for a school trip... but he didn’t want to leave bc he had finally found LXC and didn’t want to part ways. Lan QiRen put end to the older boy’s silly antics and the two friends agreed to meet in secret, before Lan Huan put a end to the relationship for fear of displeasing his uncle. The three friends kept switching bodies until one day they stopped.
Then Meng Yao came to find him and told him he had discovered the truth of what happened: that NMJ had a car accident and lost most of his memories of their years as friends and that now was living somewhere else with the woman he fell in love with. Meng Yao himself tried to live in Gusu for a few years afterwards, regardless of his poor health, eventually deciding to not make Lan Huan worry and disappeared without a word to take care of himself (or to die far away enough so that Lan Huan didn’t have to see him at his worst).
Lan Huan said that it took him years to remember their names and that he was able to finally utter them in front of his brother only the previous year, at the last July festival. He also reveals WWX that trying to remember something so simple caused him great pain, to the point he believed he could let himself die that way, starving himself from human connection.
Impressed and sorrowful, WWX cries for him and wishes things were different for Lan Huan, who’s only 23 and yet had suffered more than anyone else. But Lan Huan is content with what he has, even if he feels guilty for being the reason Meng Yao neglected his health. Yet he’s happy for NMJ and doesn’t regret befriending them at all.
With his help, WWX alerts people in Gusu: LXC finally standing up for himself against their uncle in order to gain his respect and convince him of the emergency at hand.
On the other hand, LWJ wakes up in the cave in WWX’s body (in 2015) and doesn’t know why he’s there. Yet he knows the way out and travels back following the ribbons... but when he reaches Gusu he sees there’s only a crater filled with water and doesn’t know what to do. He knows of the time discrepancy between the two realities, but he doesn’t know what to think.
WWX realizes LWJ must be in his body somewhere on the Burial Mounds, from the top of which Gusu can be seen, but he doesn’t know if he would find his own body in the cave, since the year now is 2010 and WWX reached the cave by himself only in 2015. Yet something tells him to go and so he leaves for the mountain.
On top of the Burial Mounds, he doesn’t find anyone.
But Lan Zhan is there, on the other side of the veil between present and future.
And as the light of the sun fades away and dusk approaches, Wei Ying enters his body and Lan Zhan gets back inside his own. They meet for the first time and Wei Ying doesn’t know what to say, having never seen Lan Zhan’s body from outside and feeling suddenly very self conscious and uninteresting.
To which Lan Zhan responds with “are you legal?” / “what the fuck Lan Zhan.” / “I gave you my ribbon. did you receive it?” / “yes, my... my sister gave it to me like, yesterday.” / “yesterday as in... what year?” / “2015”
And then Lan Zhan kisses the hell out of him because nothing screams romanticism to him like a relationship between two contenting adults and Wei Ying gets blissed out of his pants for that single kiss on the spot. In between kisses Wei Ying tries to convince Lan Zhan to stop, that there’s something they should remember... or at least something they should not forget.
But Lan Zhan does not relent, hugging and holding Wei Ying, finally... finally keeping him close and never letting him go.
Until Wei Ying disappears and the only thing left of him is the white ribbon Lan Zhan has given him.
They forgot to write their names, so that they would not forget them like LXC has done for years.
And finally.....!
years have passed, it’s the beginning of 2020 [sans quarantine, thank you] and Wei Ying has graduated and is looking for a job. He doesn’t remember Lan Zhan.
Jiang Cheng has found a job close to the sea at the local aquarium and the only thing he talks about on the phone is “how useless his new intern is. a nobody late bloomer who discovered the mountain wasn’t for him and decided to study in the opposite direction, go figure. Gusu must have bored him alright. but the other day he reminded me mountains are actually ancient reefs and now I think I’m in love.” So all is well.
(Gusu did not fall and everyone was evacuated in time. Lan Zhan had descended the mountain and made sure his brother got his backup in convincing their uncle of the emergency. He doesn’t remember either, but he always keeps his ribbon on his wrist, feeling like he’s waiting for someone to get it back.)
On a snowy night they cross paths on a pedestrian bridge, but don’t recognize each other... until Wei Ying’s scent of lotus reaches Lan Zhan. But the other has already disappeared behind a corner of the ever busy Lanling and they miss each other once again.
The following day, when Wei Ying has just dropped Jin Ling at his kindergarten and is about to cross a road, he sees a familiar face on the other side of the street. Both of them are talking to the phone: Wei Ying to Jiang Cheng, who’s calling him from a toilet, panicking about his first date with the intern; and Lan Zhan with his brother Lan XiChen, who’s waiting for his date to come back from the bathroom in the restaurant they chose to meet at.
As they walk towards each other they sense something, but don’t stop. Until they have now reached their respective sides of the road and realize what just happened. They turn around, but there are too many cars in between them.
They look for a way to meet and run towards a pedestrian bridge right above the road. They make the steps two at a time until they’re out of breath on top and stare at each other after so long. Wei Ying has lived for five years feeling like half of him was missing, but Lan Zhan had spent twice as long waiting for something to change in his life.
(“I’m still legal, you know?” / “That’s the first thing you decide to tell me after ten years? Really?” / “you thought it was romantic last time” / “what’s that supposed to mean?” / “that you should kiss me right the fuck now, you big oaf.”)
They meet in the middle of the bridge and kiss.
Then, Lan Zhan tilts his head and ask “what was you name again?”, clearly amused, and waits until Wei Ying’s laughter resonates all around.
The fucking end.
Now I need a break.

sun&moon ; choi hyunsuk
genre: slow burn, slight angst
words: 1k
summary: in which choi hyunsuk is the sun and you are the moon and your paths were never destined to cross
alternatively; in which choi hyunsuk is not the sun and you are not the moon, simply two kids too afraid to fall in love
songs to listen to while reading: sun&moon - nct127
noise - jung jinwoo
a piece of work - villain
a/n: hello my loves! it’s been a while since I've posted, and this is nowhere near my best work. but, I wrote it on a whim last night after watching kimi no na wa and while I don’t think I executed my ideas as well as I could have, it’s still something. again, feedback (including correcting my grammar ik it sucks) is always welcomed! i hope you all enjoy! (just for reference, the switch between past and present tense is on purpose) (also props to whoever gets the john green reference lmao rip) (also wtf this gif of hyunsuk is so hot don’t mind me while I s c r e a m)
Tumblr media
you fell in love with choi hyunsuk the way the sun sets in the evening sky. at first it’s blinding and you can’t quite see. then it’s a blaze of colors - hues of pink and vibrant purple that seem to burst onto the pavement below. and suddenly it’s pitch black. a silent whisper between the sun and the moon. and when you look up, the sky is bathed in stars.
;
the sun was blinding.
the first time you met choi hyunsuk, you found him intriguing. he was attractive for a fifteen year old, but his stature held an arrogance that didn’t quite match his height.
he was something of a spectacle. too bright and showy for your taste. almost like the sun, you thought to yourself. you had never cared much for the sun. it was blinding and intrusive and too much of it turned your skin a raging red. the sun was hot and sticky and unpleasant at best. yet, when you first made eye contact with choi hyunsuk, you couldn’t help but feel that you didn’t mind the sun.
;
the sky burst into a fiery blaze of colors.
you were seventeen when you first kissed choi hyunsuk. you were seventeen and pushed against the marble countertops of the bathroom sink. you were seventeen and you didn’t care because choi hyunsuk was kissing you and you liked it. you’re not quite sure whose bathroom you were in. you’re not quite sure whose house you were in either. but what you were sure of was the fact that choi hyunsuk was kissing you.
his arms caged you in on either side. his skin looked like honey from where you stood and you restrained yourself from reaching out and trailing your finger down his biceps. judging by the thin veins running down the length of his forearms, you deduced he worked out. you hate that you found that attractive. funny enough, you can’t find it in yourself to hate him.
It wasn’t the type of kisses you saw in the romance movies you watched in middle school. It was inexperienced and messy and remnants of his saliva had dried on your chin. But his hands were soft as they trailed along your arms, goosebumps forming in their wake. And his lips, while chapped, seemed softer. and as he bunched the cloth of your sundress in his fists, lips making their way down your neck, you decided that you liked the sun.
it was a game of truth or dare. you wondered if there was any truth in his kisses.
;
suddenly it’s pitch black
choi hyunsuk was the sun. his presence mimicked such; needing not invitation yet welcomed with open arms. he was an aura of  warmth and brightness. a splatter of yellow on an otherwise blank canvas.
choi hyunsuk was the sun, but you didn’t like the sun. you were reserved and shy and a room without your presence was a room nonetheless. you ate your dinner in the dark and you preferred spending your friday nights in bed. you were plain and you were content. but choi hyunsuk was up in the sky and you were down on the ground.
so, you ignored him. you ignored his phone calls and you ignored his texts and you refused to spare him a glance as you entered your shared classes. sometimes it was hard and you resisted the urge to let your eyes wander to where he was already staring back.
and perhaps, you think to yourself, such is why you will never be with choi hyunsuk. because he is the sun and you are the moon, and your paths were never destined to cross.
;
the sky is bathed in stars.
it’s almost three in the morning when you realize you love choi hyunsuk.
it’s three in the morning and you can’t quite think straight, but you know you love him. you know that every fiber of your being yearns to touch him, to be close to him, to feel any part of him beneath the skin of your fingertips. and you find yourself running. clad in sweatpants that are too loose and a t-shirt that’s too thin for the fifty degree weather. you’re running and your feet are slamming against the ground and you think you might fall and scrape your knee but you continue running. because all that you can think of is choi hyunsuk.
and by the time you reach his front lawn, he’s already there. bathed in the dimly lit light of his front porch, you can’t help but think he’s never looked more beautiful than now. you stare at him in a moment of silence. he stares back.
twilight. in which neither the sun nor the moon exist. a complete silence coats the world around you. the only people that exist are you and him. because choi hyunsuk is not the sun and you are not the moon, but you are simply two star crossed lovers who were too blind to see what was in front of them.
and suddenly he’s kissing you. something not quite fervent nor passionate. but sweet and slow. lips intermingle with lips in a slow dance of love and longing. and as his lips travel from yours to the skin of your neck, you can’t help but think you would steal all the stars in the sky just to be with choi hyunsuk.
;
you fell in love with choi hyunsuk the way the sun sets in the evening sky; slowly, then all at once.

So I read the new chapter and holy shit
Currently don't have access discord so I figured I'd ramble here cause I don't want to wait ;0;
The new chapter,,,,, what- the fuck?? Like- it's not a BAD wtf but I definitely have mixed opinions. But for the most part I'm excited. Aight so break down
Gurens betraying everyone what a surprise
It's almost like it was predictable!
Anyways rip mika no one ever believes you
Sun God Aten and Mikaela! Ngl I'm pumped depsite the amount of new fucking name drops we've had in the past 5 chapters. but what fucking Mikaela??? Ferid or Mika? Also who TF is Aten. Is it one of the Seraphs in the facility (Shinoa confirmed there's more than one when they entered) or is it one of out main characters who's ALSO a seraph???????
Honestly I couldnt care less about Asura but I like the explanation for demons and how they're all the failed attempts of people being used to control the seraphs. But what about the blood thing? Is Asura a demon? A vampire? What healed him? Was it Yuu or Shikama that lead to him being healed?
What the fuck was that thing in the hellscape. It looked like a god damn amoeba tf kagami why
What the fuck are Urd and Rigr doing? Like are they just there for a cameo or are they actually helping???? I thought they split into different views and were fighting over whether Seraphs should be dabbled with. Or at least for that short bit in the manga where Urd wanted all the experiments dead. Why are they both helping? I wanna have some on screen character development even if it's just a side character :'0!!! Cause I like the idea of two brothers splitting apart due to their views and having to go again each other for their own morals. I know this is in the past and that the two are together, but I want to know what happened that made them hate each other
Where the fuck is Mika during the battle against Shikama? If he's this big and powerful being that he's lumped together with a SUN GOD then why did Shikama take off without even acknowledging he was there? Isn't Shikama interested in the seraphs? Is he actually interested in the experiments anymore or is there just a blood feud between him and Rigr now?
MAMA KRUL IS COMING FINALLY THANK THE LORD
No but seriously where's Mika
nO BUT SERIOUSLY WHERE'S MITSUBA???? YOICHI? KIMI?? you can't tell me they have no idea what's going on? Shikama was just on a rampage don't tell me they didn't hear the screams? Please let my babies come join the battle!!!!
Shinoa is still being used as a vessel;;;; I want my gurl back qnq
Is Guren betraying Everyone or just the squad? Like is he working with the hyak sect or is going to do his own thing? Ik krul and mahiru worked together but is Guren actually taking up that shit. Did no one learn that "hey that might be a bad idea?"
All in all it was a good chapter and ferid's still laying in a pool of his own blood so I'm happy. I just hope we get some answers soon. It's been so long since any conflicts or huge questions about the main characters that rose have been answered. I'm biased and hate Guren so I don't really care too much about him. But I really want to know what the actual experiment is right now. Cause at first I thought it was to kill the vamps, then I thought it was to kill other rogue Seraphs/angels, and now I have nO FUCKING CLUE AS TO WHATS GOING ON---
Anyways very good chapter and kagami give us Seraph Mika soon please I fucking bEG

[神なる君と] 天津国星縁尊 (Mikoto) + Final thoughts
Finally!!!!!!! I sacrificed one night’s sleep to finish this route, but I did it! ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و
I had originally planned to spread it out over a couple of days, but there was a lot of recap of stuff we already know here, so I got kind of impatient and rushed through some of it. So apologies if some of the minor details are off. I got all the important bits I think.
- Amatsu-kunihoshi-en-no-Mikoto -
Tumblr media
Is it just me or does his silhouette give off a HAIR METAL / 1970s Alice Cooper vibe???
Mikoto is the former God of Kunihoshi Shrine who gave his position over to Sakuya for some reason. He is kind of a comedic/jokester character, but occasionally reveals a deeper and more serious side, much like Yakumo-nii-san.
His route happens if Sakuya chooses to help him grant his wish instead of investigating the school haunting rumours. Her first task is to time-skip slightly into the future, on hoshimatsuri night, to take a message for future-Mikoto.
After she arrives she sees her future self running along the river searching for Mikoto and crying. Yorihito stops her from talking to her future self, and tells her that Mikoto is under the tree in the shrine. She finds him and passes along the message, which is to ask him if his wish has been granted.
He replies yes, but he wishes he had done a better job and made ‘her’ understand his actions.
Back in the present, she asks Mikoto what that’s all about but he doesn’t want to tell her. The rest of the route is basically her process of figuring out his secrets.
The side arcs in the other routes are briefly recapped here, except each one now reveals something important about Mikoto’s worldview. Following the order that they appear in:
*
I. Yorihito/Nisei
This time Mikoto tells them straightaway that Nisei has travelled here from the past through a time warp, and has to return. Sakuya accepts his views, and he tells her that every beautiful meeting has to eventually end in parting, and that the memories not only tie us to the future, but they also drive us forward... It’s kind of like his ‘going away speech’ in a way, but Sakuya doesn’t know that at this point.
II. The Sanshin incident
Tumblr media
‘YOU no DOGEZA = VERY BEAUTIFUL datta-ze!’ #yuri
The Sanshin tell Sakuya that they sympathise with Mikoto, because he has been on the receiving end of much hate and anger from people whose wishes he wasn’t able to grant.
Later Sakuya asks him if he hates people, and he turns the question back to her. She replies that people come in many different personalities, and he agrees. He thinks that it’s his misdeed that he wasn’t able to save everyone. But Sakuya feels that he has done nothing wrong - to which he thanks her and says that her kindness has saved him time and again.
III. Aki/Kunugi arc
Tumblr media
‘You...! Be my grrrl.’ #kunugi
This ends in pretty much the same way as in Yakumo’s route. Aki tells Sakuya that things worked out for the best, because love between a human and a supernatural being is bound to end in tragedy. Sakuya realises that there are other alternative endings besides ‘happily ever after’. She ofc thinks of Mikoto,... and so she goes and asks him if he has ever been in love. He tells her that gods have to love everyone and everything equally (including Yorihito and miscroscopic bacteria lol).
Then he tells her that she is very important to him, and that he prays for her happiness.
IV. Fuu-san
After hearing rumours about evil spirit moaning in the old school building, Sakuya wonders if Rei is having stomachaches XD.
Anyway, here Fuu-san again confides in Sakuya about his friend Yuuya, and she wonders if there’s a way to ease his pain. Mikoto says it’s possible to erase his memories, but Fuu-san would refuse to do so. He believes that there are some painful histories that one just has to live with - and surprisingly Sakuya accepts his view. I feel like she is accepting too much in this route XD.
*
.: Going back to Mikoto’s backstory, we already know about the 1000-year-old love story between the miko and the Great Demon from the other routes, but we missed a few key points which are revealed here:
1. The sesshouseki itself is not the Demon’s remains. It’s a fragment of a star that was used to absorb the Demon’s curse/evil energy. And Mikoto is the living embodiment of this stone.
2. The Demon’s remains are actually buried under the *magical tree* in the yard of the shrine. And his spirit communicates to Sakuya and others through this tree.
3. The 1000-year promise: Before the Demon’s death, Mikoto promised to watch over his remains to prevent the curse from escaping. This would only work for 1000 years, so after that time, Mikoto promised to absorb all the curse energy himself and disappear from the face of the earth.
What actually happened is that 10 years ago on hoshimatsuri night, when Mikoto was supposed fulfil his promise and disappear, he hesitated and started crying under the tree, because he was afraid of death. Child Sakuya came over to comfort him, and ended up in the energy transfer danger zone.
Tumblr media
So, to save her from dying from the curse, Mikoto decided to make her a Goddess 10 years later to build ‘immunity’, and then on hoshimatsuri night transfer all her curse energy back onto himself and disappear as promised. At first he didn’t want to tell her all this, but she’s super しつこい so eventually he told her everything.
Sakuya found herself falling for Mikoto and didn’t want him to disappear, so she asked Yorihito how to prevent his plan from working using her Goddess powers. On hoshimatsuri night, she successfully stops Mikoto from fulfilling his promise, and seals it with a kiss.
Because the curse energy remained in her body, she grew weaker and weaker and died three months later. THE END.
...
Lol j/k.
Tumblr media
Good end: Mikoto can’t get over Sakuya’s death, so 1 year later on hoshimatsuri, he decides to use the same time-travel method (and the power of Sakuya’s amulet) to go back in time and stop her from thwarting his epic disappearance plan. Everyone supports him - except Yakumo, who thinks that Mikoto shouldn’t force his own plan against her will. He wants Mikoto to do what makes them both happy, even if it means defying Fate.
Sooo, Mikoto goes back in time... to 11 years ago, before hoshimatsuri night. He finds child Sakuya on the shrine grounds, and gives her an amulet and sends her away, telling her NOT TO COME HERE TONIGHT.
...With that taken care of, nighttime comes and he proceeds to fulfil his promise. But to his surprise, Sakuya shows up again - to give him back his amulet and tell him to stop being an #emosadface. He is all like #headpalm #Orz #omgthismustbeFATE.
In that moment he decides that, instead of letting the curse transfer take place this time, he will try to fight it so that no-one has to die. Basically the same thing that Yuzuru did for Yakumo in all his routes = Zzzzzzz (fight the curse while sleeping). At the last moment, he tells Sakuya that he’s going away for a while, but promises to meet again someday.
Tumblr media
...
Loop back to the beginning of the game, except in this new alternative future, 17-year-old Sakuya has a more enlightened view on religion and shittier luck in omikuji. In the shrine, she meets Mikoto once again - and this time she remembers him from her childhood meeting, and he is willing to tell her the whole Kami Naru Kimi to story, with no secrets.
*
[Thoughts] Let me first take a moment to marvel at the coherence of the whole story......
...Ok. Moving on.
Mikoto’s route wasn’t as much a tearjerker as I thought it would be. Or maybe I was just too tired/brain-dead to cry at 3am _(:3」∠)_. It also doesn’t feel much like a romance love story. I mean Mikoto was preparing for his *ultimate demise* and in no mood for a relationship for the most part lol. So a lot of Sakuya’s actions/thoughts felt very one-sided.
It was nice that the recaps of the four side story-arcs were kept short (I guess for the benefit of those who didn’t see all of them? not sure if possible to get to the hidden route without unlocking all four events, but anyway).
Piecing together the info from the other routes, I had some guesses as to what the ‘full picture’ was... but this route totally took it in a different direction than what I was expecting. I kind of figured from Sakuya’s surname (「神」 and 「木」) that she’s the descendant/reincarnate of the spirit who lives in the tree, who must be Mikoto’s old lover from 1000 years ago. Lolol was I wrong about that XDDD - although I think my version would’ve made a more romantic story. ^_~
Overall, I like how the route challenged/changed Mikoto’s views about the impenetrability of Fate. You come away with the feeling of understanding a lot more: why gods exist, the true purpose of prayer, why individual wishes are/aren’t fulfilled, the role of free will, etc.
Tumblr media
‘I have come to show you the Truth... with my really nice hair’ ;)
(It does make me sad that in the good ending version of events, some of the characters probably never got a chance to meet - e.g. Narumi & Mikoto, Yuzuru/Rei and everyone else.)
As I feared, there was no clear explanation for Rei’s existence. In the ending it’s revealed that he is/was a 生霊 (a soul that got separated from a living body), and that after Narumi failed to send him off to the other world during hoshimatsuri, he ended up in hospital and was able to recover his body (and some temporary memory loss) with Aki’s help.
...Which STILL doesn’t explain who he is, and how he landed in this condition, AND in his own ending why he disappeared for 10 years and came back as a living human... Unless I missed something in my haste, but I doubt it. Otomate was probably counting on the fact that nobody would fall in love with Rei so nobody cares. But I want some answers damnit!!
Tumblr media
Also, Yorihito makes a brief appearance here in his human form. #wtf O_o
...This is probably where Yakumo’s catchphrase ‘細かいことは気にしなくていい’ comes in handy. スルーしようと思います...
IN SUMMARY, ranking of routes from favourite to ...less favourite (there were no bad routes, I honestly enjoyed all of them and I thought all the characters were awesome in their own way ¯\_(ツ)_/¯):
Yuzuru > Yakumo > Mikoto >/≃ Narumi ≃ Rei
Ranking of side arcs from fav to less fav.:
Fuu-san > Aki/Kunugi > Sanshin > Yorihito/Nisei
ハイ終わり― +(人*´∀`)+゜:。*゜+

[N.B.] I actually started KamiKimi as a break from Diabolik Lovers More Blood - I’m about 3/4 of the way through Mukami Ruki’s route, and can confirm that this guy has no redeeming features whatsoever. It’s doubtful whether I’ll be able to sit through the rest of his story to get to his (hopefully sweet) ending. At least KamiKimi was a nice world where Sakurai Takahiro’s character is actually ahem *NOT AN ASSHOLE*.
(Low bar, I know, but DLMB challenges my view of common decency every time I open it...)
(Also Mikoto cried/had many emotional outbursts towards the end of the route, which is a side of Sakurai-sensei that I have never heard before. Not sure how I feel tbh. Like Sakuya in the game, I actually prefer his funny/lighthearted persona more.)
Also I’ll probably be busy with exams + school stuff for most of this month, so it would be a good idea to go for more fun/relaxing games that are not so heavy and tragic.
One recent discovery is an old game by Broccoli called 「恋戦隊 LOVE& PEACE the P.S.P」 , which is based on the Power Rangers concept (all my childhood dreams are coming true...! *≧ω≦*) ... I previewed a chapter or so and it seems absolutely hilarious, although it’s not fully voiced so the reading part will be a P in the A but HIT ME UP YO.
And ofc, there will always be drama CDs to save the day...

Frostshield Bodyswap AU
Basically Pre-Thor Loki and Pre-Serum Steve keep waking up in each other’s bodies on alternating days, Kimi no Na Wa style.
For Loki, he first realises something’s wrong when he gets in trouble because apparently he punched some dickish nobleman in the face yesterday?? Which he didn’t??? (Also, throughout the day the palace servants smile and wave at him whenever they see him, for some strange reason)
For Steve, it’s a bit more subtle; a few things mentioned here and there which he doesn’t remember happening, Colonel Phillips shouting at him for slacking off (”You had better form yesterday, boy!”)
It doesn’t take long for them to realise they’re somehow bodyswapping, and while they don’t know why they still need to find a way to somehow live with it without ruining each other’s lives, so they set up some ground rules by writing in shared notebooks, and keeping journal entries to keep each other updated.
Loki is a pompous prick who looks down on Midgardians and believes that they are weak, powerless and generally inferior and not worth his time. This really shows in his written instructions to Steve, which seriously pisses off the latter. But Steve just grits his teeth and decides that just because Loki’s a dick doesn’t mean he shouldn’t still be nice to the spoiled prince.
So Steve picks and chooses which rules to follow. The ridiculous hair and skin care regimens? Nope. Stop picking fights? Well it’s not as if he tries to, but do you honestly expect him to turn a blind eye to injustice? But learning magic so he wouldn’t tarnish Loki’s reputation as a powerful magic-user? Well ignoring the second half, that’s actually something he’s excited about.
Meanwhile, Steve futilely asks Loki to stop pranking the other cadets (Loki’s favourite target is Hodge), because antagonising them is pointless and the bullying he already gets from them worsens.
During this period of time they mellow out to each other and come to enjoy their shared banter. The bodyswapping is still as weird as ever but the two of them have kind of mutually decided not to tell anyone about it- for Loki he wants to unravel the mystery himself, and for Steve, well, who’s going to believe him anyway?
Steve also accidentally befriends Sif while in Loki’s body, so when Loki comes back he is left feeling weirded out when Sif acts genuinely friendly towards him. But he finds that he’s somehow able to maintain the friendship on his end even when it’s not Steve so he kind of reluctantly rolls with it
Loki messes around with Steve’s love life for shits and giggles- he is more than aware of Steve’s crush on Peggy so he teases him about it in the entries, then flirts with Peggy on Steve’s behalf. Steve just wants to die every time he gets his body back.
Steve undergoes Project Rebirth, and the next day Loki manages to talk his way out of being forced into becoming a dancing monkey, securing himself a position as a supersoldier spy (”You’re welcome,” he later writes to Steve, and Steve feels the warmth of gratitude expand in his chest)
Instead of Captain America, WW2 gets a legend whose existence is rumoured and feared: The Supersoldier. The Supersoldier has two fighting styles: he either bulldozes his way out against the odds through sheer stubbornness or he blindsides the enemy using unorthodox methods
Steve is constantly impressed by some of Loki’s deceitful strategies and earnestly tells him as such in the entries. Loki is like “wtf really” because he usually gets looked down upon by others for his methods
Back on Asgard, Steve helps improve Loki’s relationships with the people around him. In addition to befriending Sif, he also manages to get on friendly terms with the Warriors 3. It gets to the point where they’re no longer just Thor’s friends, but also Loki’s as well. Steve is also really nice to the palace servants, who in turn become really fond of ‘Loki’. Loki has no idea what to do with the positive attention.
At some point Loki catches feelings for Steve, and it gets to a point where he teasing Steve about Peggy is no longer fun but makes him kind of… sad? Bitter? Loki doesn’t want to say anything about his feelings though, so he just goes with “subtly” flirting through the entries
But Loki’s feelings are made complicated by Bucky’s return to Steve’s life.
At the pub, Bucky points out to Steve that he’s happier and lighter and thinking about someone, congratulating him on getting together with Peggy. Steve is like “??? What no I’m not with Peggy”. Bucky’s like “oh man just tell her already you’ve obviously got it bad”. Steve is confused because he was actually thinking about Loki’s most recent entry (which is totally unrelated btw)
Steve has a private chat with Peggy and she tells him that she really does care about him and think he’s an amazing person. She also brings up that sometimes it’s as if he’s two completely different people. Then she gently turns him down because it’s obvious that he’s already in love with someone else, someone who isn’t her (she thinks it’s Bucky). Steve is dejected but not as upset as he expected to be. He thinks about what Bucky said, how at the time he thought Bucky was wrong because he was thinking about Loki, how Peggy said he’s in love with someone else, and… oh. Steve you useless bisexual
The bodyswapping stops when Steve crashes into the ice but ALL IS WELL they reunite in the 21st century and are alive and happy together and that’s what matters

Shoujo Romance
Have you ever liked a genre so much in the past, but end up disliking it now just because of that one manga/anime that’s in that genre? Well, that’s what happened to me half a year ago. Before you continue reading, I don’t hate Shoujo. I dislike Shoujo. Understand the difference there. I used to love Shoujo romance. It always make me go crazy when the main guy gets together with the main girl. Series like Kaichou wa Maid-Sama, Ouran Koukou Highschool, Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun, Sukitte Ii Na yo, Kimi ni Todoke are those that I liked the most in Shoujo. I disliked Itazura na Kiss, but it was tolerable. I hated Honey x Honey Drop, but it wasn’t enough for me to just stop reading Shoujo manga. However, everything changed when I encountered the abomination of a Shoujo manga, Kyou, Koi wo Hajimemasu. The synopsis of this manga was interesting, hence I went to check it out. First few chapters were fine, though I really disliked the main guy.
It was until that certain chapter when the main girl’s sister appeared that just make me go, WTF. If there’s anything I like about that manga, it’d be the art. That’s all. Now, if you’re a fan of this manga, stop reading. Okay, now...
WHAT THE ACTUAL FVCK?! I fvcking hate that sister so much that it just surpassed my hatred for that Sae bitch in Peach girl. She’s just plain devil! Nothing about that bitch is likeable. I have lost count on the number of times I wanted to just drop this manga but I endured. To add on to the fire, the main girl just freaking degraded herself just for that asshole of a guy? She was like freaking strong in the beginning and I was beginning to like her, but that all just changed in later chapters. How df did she even fall for such a bastard like that main guy? He tried to rape her, tease her, insult her and whatsoever shit. I don’t fvcking care if that asshole is handsome or smart blahblahblah. This isn’t how you treat a person. Even if you’re a bully, doing such things JUST CROSSED THAT LINE ALREADY. I was thinking, maybe this girl will be like Misaki from Kaichou wa Maid-sama, since she started off strong, but what happened in the end? Her degrading herself for that guy! That’s a fvcking poor representation of female. I literally just drop that manga when she first confessed to that guy. And from there on I wouldn’t touch Shoujo manga/anime unless it just stood out to me. Nowadays, although I’m still reading Last Game, works by Robiko and Nijiiro days, I wouldn’t fvcking get close Shoujo manga that just literally shouts, “ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP” and “STEREOTYPICAL ASSHOLE MAIN CHARACTER”. Especially Shoujo smut.
I’ve done ranting now and if you finished reading what I typed above, thank you and have a nice day ^^

My Hero
Fan fiction written by Aiz from Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso by  Naoshi Arakawa
-3 years after Kaori’s death-
All is well. Kaori’s gone. Kousei’s back.
grand final between Takeshi and Kousei at XVIII International Chopin Piano Competition, the biggest and the most prestigious piano competition of all time is set for the two Japan’s representative.
Kousei lived his life fully and continued playing his piano just like what Kaori wanted. Still, Kousei couldn’t hear the sound of his piano even though his hearing is perfectly fine. Some says he’s the modern Beethoven, the virtuoso, the human metronome raised by his cruel mother. Whilst Takeshi who admires Kousei and finds him as his hero and at the same time his biggest rival. As soon as Kousei got back from his prime, they’ve compete in every competition there is and the rest of the crowd sees Takeshi as the underdog which makes Kousei all the more invincible, again. And just like the old days Takeshi constantly practiced in order to surpass Kousei.
-a week before the competition
The piece is set to be Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso — Saint-Saëns. the first piece where Kousei and Kaori performed together. Kousei seems to be worried though he has been moved on from what happened. As soon as Kousei has been informed to the said piece He practices to what He remembers. As Kousei reaches his arms towards the piano keys He remembers everything about Kaori, he’s life flashes that it was just like yesterday, He sees Kaori on his side guiding him how to play with her being the accompanist and bringing him towards the music again. -and He stopped playing. Sweating. “what’s this empty feeling?” for a while He looked around in his empty room. The quietness rang over his ears. -continued playing- the tempo is gone as if he couldn’t play a single note. And again He stopped playing. He glanced down thinking he would be able to see her again in her white dress holding her violin just like the girl he saw on spring of April. Of course she wouldn’t be there.
He closed his eyes.
The air breathes from his window. He’s heart throbbed saying “I couldn’t do this.”
Stands up from his seat, walks around the room upset. blaming Kaori angrily and thinking It was her fault that he’s here, in this situation. It was her fault that he was playing again.
------------------------------------------
Music thundered from Takeshi’s room. The over lapping melody and harmony of notes throbbed in the air. As he pressed the piano keys with all his might. “Takeshi!” her sister shouted, as he was playing with different tempo filled with excitement, rage and joy. Her sister helps him to fully perfect the said piece. He practice the piece given to them 8 hours a day. “why are you playing like there’s no other day?” Aiza asks. “this may be my last competition” Takeshi answered with suppressed emotion. “why?!” she exclaimed. “I won’t be playing anymore if I lost in this competition, I won’t chase that stupid dream of defeating tha8t emotionless Kousei anymore.”
 -D day of the competition-
“He just takes my breath away. He, and the black piano… I mean, really… what a sight!” Tsubaki said as Jasper finishes he’s piece. Stands up and bowed into the audience. The audience clapped. He returned from the backstage for the intermission.
 -grand final-
As takeshi walks out from backstage filled with confidence. As if he tries to intimidate his rival, Arima kousei. As he knows that he’s watching from backstage. And show him what He got. Walk towards the organ and reached his hand towards the piano keys. Glanced down and Closed his eyes while playing the first tunes like feeling the harmony and silence of the crowd. “what a lovely sound. But if that’s all he’s got, then maybe he should quit dreaming of defeating Kousei” said one of the audience who’s not really into classical music. Then Takeshi opens his eyes with spark and so does the notes begun to fall and presses the keys all at once with all his might. “Takeshi’s like a stormy sea, the waves of her emotions are surging unsteadily.” Said one of the juries judging the competitors. “Hey, hey wtf?! Are you even human?” jasper exclaimed while watching Takeshi’s performance.
“this is good, I can feel it… can you hear this? Arima Kousei?!” He mumbles. “I’m in sync with the piano. my fingers feel so light. It’s like I’m in a zone. probably because He’s here. After three years, He’s so near. He looks so mature now. Ever since that moment, that I knew that he’s back playing piano again, my excitement has been surging. He’s right there watching me. I’ve been playing piano all this time in order to surpass you Arima Kousei.” Takeshi mumbles as he’s been played the piece perfectly and elegantly.
“I know that He has the technique. But not at this level.” Said one of the juries shockingly. “A seventeen year old boy has enthralled the audience of one of the most biggest and prestigious competition in a piano competition. Is she really a senior high-school?” Said one of the juries.     “I can’t afford to lose here, not now. I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life. to defeat you, not just in any stage but in the biggest stage in a piano competition.” “His feelings, it’s like… anger. he’s so furious about how he performs” said jasper as he watched him play in stunned awe. The performance’s about to end. The audience were stunned as they watched him perform. the notes throbbed in the air and through the bodies of those listening. their hearts pounded and their hands shook as they grasped for only a moment by an all-consuming anger. The dome feels like a brawl in a magnificent way of using the notes as the weapons to the battlefield. The blinding lights of the dome flashes, as the final notes were being performed, Takeshi pounds the piano pedal and hits the notes with all his might. The audience rumbled to life as he delivers the final blow. His heart pounded as fast as it could as he catches breath, sweat drips from his coat and tickled the back of his neck. Fingers burned but their tips felt numb. Tear drops from his eyes and He says. “I hope this reaches you, Arima Kousei.” As a sign of respect from the person who he looked up to. He raised his arm as he finishes the performance, His shoulder’s loosened and his fingers flew as he finishes playing. And slowly brings down. As soon as He stands up ready to bow, The crowd goes wild shouting encore around the room. His eyes diluted and shockingly saw the biggest dome in the world with the biggest audience He could ever see. "Are you watching? Are you listening? Arima?" He mumbles with tears in his eyes. He bows and walk towards the backstage.
Takeshi and Arima crosses their paths upon coming through the backstage of the concert hall. Takeshi glared at Arima and whispered “Goodluck” Arima replied… “Thanks!” with a smile on his face. Then He opens the door towards the stage. Dazzled by the lights focused on him, He couldn't look around but he could feel it with his body, the high ceiling of the concert hall, the gentle slope of the stadium seating, and the vast open space that was the stage. The relaxing ambiance of the whole stage and its quietness. He walk towards the black organ isolating from the rest of the audience.
He reached down to adjust the seat, then fixed his coat. Whispered “this is for you, I hope it reaches you. Kaori-san” He took one steadying breath before striking the opening chord. He started the song at the right note, tempo and hardness of every keys he pushed. “play it with your whole body! Draw what Mom left me!” whispered to himself. the song started to fade… “I can’t hear anything, again. It feels like I’m being dragged towards the abyss where no one’s there and it’s so cold and dark. How soft am I playing? how hard am I hitting the notes? were the notes together? What was its tempo?” He couldn't hear a thing. not a single note. All these questions boggling his mind, making him tense. But then He remembers what Kaori used to play with her Violin, “IMAGINE IT” he shouted in his mind.
”What is he doing? The notes were in shambles and so does the tempo it’s not in the right timing.” Said one of the audience. “something’s not right, just look at him play. he’s like… crying. Glaring down the piano keys.”
Then he started playing furiously. “he’s playing as if there’s an accompany” said one of the juries. “She moves me. with such power, like the pounding of my heart. I can hear your sound. You’re here” then he plays with a different tempo. He played like he composed the song. “what is he doing?!” one of the juries exclaimed. The tempos was so fast and it has a new element on it. “he’s enjoying it” Takeshi said. “He… he doesn’t care about the scores… he’s playing at his own will.” Said one of the juries.
The song’s about to finish. “Elohim, Essaim... Elohim, Essaim I implore you.” He chanted. Right in the middle of his clashing hands between the notes. As he brings the last notes with all his might. Stomped the pedal as hard as he can. “Thank you. Thank you. I love you. Farewell.” He whispered. His music soared to new heights as the audience listened enraptured. the overpowering imagery left the audience, but the emotions lingered along with the fading notes that had filled the hall. He raised his hands as soon as he hits the last note. “I hope this reaches you! Kaori!” shouted through his mind. He stood up from the sit and bowed. The audience shouted “Encore!” With the smile on their faces and some felt the emotions through Kousei’s performance, tears streamed through their eyes.
Kousei walks towards the backstage. “why didn’t you follow the right tempo?” Takeshi asked. “it’s not for me” Kousei answered. “It’s for Kaori… that’s what she wanted. To be free. This is my last performance Takeshi…” He said.
