—OCS AND VILLAIN SONGS

hey what’s up you guys welcome back to my channel— i did this post on my old blog ages ago which is unfortunately lost to time now and i wanted to do it again. so this has gotta be like, the third time some of y’all are seeing this but. fuck it we ball.

born from a post made by @unholymilf a loooong time ago that as more or less a question of if ur oc was a boss fight, what song would be playing and it struck me so here is ALL of my brain worms, including some new ones from the last post!

ANDIE— le soleil est près de moi; air.

POV: you’re bleeding out as andie is standing over you, burning white hot, hotter than the sun setting behind her. she is passionate and… reckless, and will swear this was self-defense. even if she struck first. even if she didn’t blink. even as she watches the life leave your body.

BIANCA— tricycle express; gaspard augé, mr. oizo.

POV: bianca is white knuckling her steering wheel, swiping her car against the side of your own for miles down the freeway. she is gonna run you off the road. she absolutely will; it’s unavoidable, and she’s gonna laugh while she’s doing it. this is the song she’s listening to.

CELESTE— vision; m83.

POV: “you will die soon. sooner than you were supposed to, now.” celeste deadpans as she hovers her hand over your forehead and waves. she makes a show of it, though her clairvoyance doesn’t require as much. you wish you had listened to her and thought better of asking in the first place. “it will be violent, and painful. give ares my best. leave my temple.” but you didn’t, and now it’s too late. your fate is sealed.

ELVIRA— old river; orville peck.

POV: you’re stiff, hairs on the back of your neck standing up. you’re being watched. this is a different kind of observation than the one you’re used to— the seeds constantly run surveillance on you, but this doesn’t feel as passive. you’re being hunted. and when you dare to turn on your heels to see elvira standing behind you with a crossbow bolt nocked with your name on it, you almost wish jacob was here to kill you instead. somehow, you know it would be more merciful.

OSLO— pennsylvania furnace; lingua ignota.

POV: oslo isn’t the deputy anymore. they’re the judge. eden’s gate is up a member who is worth a million and the resistance mourns a million more.

FAUSTINA— beyond the horizon; olivier deriviere.

POV: faustina is the last line of defense between you and the mother church. she’s a penitent, too, you must understand. the consecrated red ribbons she’s wrapped in are suffocating her the longer she takes to excommunicate you and she will try every prayer at her disposal to stop it—to stop you.

JEN— krack; soulwax.

POV: jen is chasing you through the fib building after she snitches on your whole operation to the iaa. you are an enemy of the state, but more importantly— you’re an enemy to agent jennifer daniels. she wants you dead, and you will be soon enough. especially if it’s up to her. and as of right now, she has you cornered in an interrogation room with nowhere to go and a gun to your head.

LOTTIE— arsonist’s lullabye; hozier.

POV: hawkins is ablaze, and lottie is at the scene of the crime staring into the flames.

LINDY— señor (tales of yankee power); jerry garcia.

POV: there’s barely anyone left to call a gang, and dutch knows as much. but he won’t admit it— that would require him admitting guilt for the losses, too. and he should be so lucky he’s still breathing; lindy wants to empty an entire revolver clip into his thick skull but knows she wouldn’t live long enough to feel the satisfaction. so she does the next best thing, and turns her back. there isn’t anything left for her, anyway. she would risk a lifetime of looking over her shoulder over having to look at him.

MAGS— change (in the house of flies); deftones.

POV: you’re being experimented on in an umbrella sanctioned lab and in walks mags— who you thought was on your side. after all, well fed devils behave better than famished saints. but not this one, she’s much worse.

MILDRED— god unbounded; uboa.

POV: you have just returned from the dead because some weirdo with a god complex and a proficiency in reanimating corpses decided that she needed the practice. and now that’s your problem, because you definitely have come back Wrong. but you’re back! surprise!

NICOLE— heart in a cage; the strokes.

POV: you’re witness to an absolute bloodbath as nicole goes crazy on the field. she’s completely lost herself, she isn’t in control anymore. she was always dangerous but now she’s lethal. she’s already gotten some of her own killed, and somebody needs to take her out before it gets worse. she’s a wild animal. and to her, you’re fresh meat.

SIBYL— summit song; nicole dollanganger.

POV: she drowns you in her scrying pool and you are never heard from again. it’s your own fault, really— anna henrietta told you to leave her be and you didn’t listen.

ROSALIND— goodbye; soap&skin, apparat.

POV: she begs mike for the coordinates of where it happened and he doesn’t budge. he never will. he doesn’t trust her not to take a shovel to the earth and dig him up. so in her state of delirium, she walks through the desert and screams and cries and repents. and becomes her own biggest villain.

ODETTE— graveyard; midnight syndicate.

POV: odette quite literally haunts her family estate, left to fall into disrepair. she’s a grief stricken wraith born of despair who brutally attacks anyone who dares step into her tomb. she’s a master illusionist even in death, so if you choose to fight her instead of just leaving, just make sure you first remove the mirrors from the wall.

omg, it's no problem, i'm just working with one (1) braincell today, but i digress... time to wax poetic about my favourite topic which is my OC Valerie and this group stranger things au.

i'm gonna put this under a read more bc i have a feeling i'm gonna go on and on and on lmaoooo

Ok so in the AU, everyone has kinda chosen different times/seasons to introduce their OC. In the case of Val, her arc technically starts when the show does, however she doesn't particularly know the main cast nor The Gang™ (the gang being a term I like to use to describe the OCs as a unit lol) until about Season 2 - except Steve who she knew by association with his shitty S1 friends but that's a WHOLE other thing re: her backstory. Although every one in the gang knows the kids in ST, the plot mainly revolves around the OCs and the teens given they're similar ages. So by the time the current season rolls around, Val would be friends with everyone (Steve, Nancy, Robin, Eddie, Billy - who I revived in the story bc he's Val's love interest... it's a long story) As far as her friends who are also OCs? I'll list them w links to their wonderful creators who I scream about ideas with on discord: Mars Duvall (@lustyargonianmaid), Lottie Byers (@galeboettichergf), Cass Parker (@oc-musings), Nickey D'Angelo (@hey-hey-its-magic) and 003 aka. Mina Shelley (@gcthamqueen). So yeah, that's her inner circle. Val kinda first became friends with Cass, Mars and Lottie around S2 era, and then not long after during a party where everything goes to shit she meets Nickey and Mina!

Anyway I just love them all so much!!!!!

question and this is about your lovely oc mars: because you have the stranger things au going, I was curious as to, one, does she come in at s4 or was she always there? and 2, did she have any relation to billy? like was there something there, was she ever maybe close with him for a bit?? just wondering! (also I have a stranger things au starting soon myself, already have two pairings ready!)

this is actually really funny because i was JUST talking about mars and billy's dynamic in my discord server with my friends i have an au with! we are all currently working on one with our own ocs, i currently have two. mary (mars) duvall and donna duvall. donna is mars' cousin who i honestly think could have had some sort of fling with billy at some point apposed to mars.

my friend made this cute photoset for all of our characters who have their own subplot and upside down DnD adjacent foe that they are fighting (an aboleth) and there are just SO many layers and hours of brainstorming that have gone into it. @gcthamqueen plays a very big role in it, our DnD knowledge coming together to make a story that isn't central to just romance, although that is still a big part of it obvs because well............the cast of stranger things hello.

@benwishaw has a great character named valerie woods who has a sordid history with billy and kind of encourages him to break down that hard exterior, piece by piece VERY slowly. val keeps her relationship with billy pretty close to her chest due to the trauma surrounding it - billy and his father, the abuse he endures and the way he projects it onto others. val has a story of her own that effects her behaviour and secrecy around relationships. i don't wanna get too far into it in case i tell her story incorrectly, since she isn't mine.

but mars and her become close and val eventually does confide in her about it and is surprised to know mars is more understanding? than most people would be about dating someone like billy.

mars story starts in season 2, she doesn't have any direct contact with the mindflayer or demodogs or really any involvement in the cursed side of hawkins until season three at the starcourt mall. but she's been close with steve her entire life as well as another friend named lottie byers (who belongs to @galeboettichergf). both steve and mars' parents are rich, particularly mars' - her family is quite affluent in hawkins. her father is a politician, her mother was always a stay at home mom with her three kids - anthony, patrick and mary. her older brothers are attending pretty prestigious universities and are ambitious while mary has always kind of had her head in novels or in the clouds, shes really quite reserved and doesn't really fall into the social turmoil of highschool often. she hasn't really dated or anything but she LOVES romance novels and is just enamoured by val and billy's secretive tryst, and i think because of that she kind of has an inside look at a side of billy people don't really know about? so she isn't as phased by his... aggression.

there are two different au's i have for her currently - one where she ends up with eddie and one where she ends up with steve. with eddie she has had a crush on him for years, as he was friends with her older brother patrick and they were in the same grade for a time. but she's always kept it to herself (and her friends) thinking that she probably isn't his type? until her senior year when she throws a party at her parents estate where A LOT OF SHIT GOES DOWN. the first aboleth attack, drunken love confessions, a body washing up on her estate from the lake.......etc. i know this is getting rambly so thank you if you've read this far HAHA

with steve its kind of friends to lovers? they were close as kids as their mothers are really close, but then middleschool/early highschool steve kinda fell into the popular crowd and they had a falling out. later on they become friends again, around the time him and nancy seperate. and it slowly.....goes from there.

Fade to Black ( Billy Hargrove X Sister! OC)

This is a sad one lads.

Warnings: Character Death, Angst, Terrible Parenting, a few words for the “swear jar”.

Billy had been a piece of shit for a long time, so long in fact that Charlotte was convinced she couldn’t remember a time when he was kind. Growing up he was a great brother, always protecting her from the boys on the playground who would pull on her golden pigtails and always cleaning her cuts and bruises, sealing every colourful bandaid with a kiss on top. As they both got older Billy stopped threatening school boys and started stepping in front her when his dad got too drunk. But, when Ally Hargrove left their family, they grew apart.

Charlotte remembers the day like it was yesterday. She was seven years old and stuck in bed with a terrible fever. Any good mother would have been checking on their daughter with a fever reaching dangerous levels, but Ally wasn’t focused on being a good mother that day. She cracked open the door to the dark bedroom where Charlotte was sleeping, bag in tow, and ran her fingers through her daughter’s sweat-dampened golden curls and simply turned and left, never to be seen again by her husband and children. As it turned out that was the wrong day to leave as when Charlotte tried to follow her mother into the hallway and out the door she passed out on the floor, hitting her head on the door. When Billy and Neil found Charlotte she was face down on the living room floor, choking on her own spit, vomit and blood, she almost died. Charlotte still hasn’t forgiven her mother.

Ever since getting out of the hospital a week later her relationship with her father and her brother was strained. Neil hated her and Billy blamed her, and Charlotte couldn’t blame them, she looked just like Ally.Everything changed for herself and Billy once again when Neil met Susan, and they got a new sister, Max. Charlotte adored Max, she was her best friend, her sister, and she forever stuck up for her when Billy decided to be an ass. Moving to Hawkins, Indiana wasn’t easy for any of them. Being California born and raised and all that, but Charlotte and Max soon found friends in The Party and Eleven, and Charlotte found a special friend in Will Byers. Billy was forever in confusion as to how his little sister could make the most out of the situation they were in, but then again, Charlotte was always good at seeing silver linings.

They say your life flashes before your eyes when you are dying, Charlotte always thought that was garbage but she was proved wrong on the night she and her friends were trapped in The Starcourt Mall. Adrenaline is a funny thing, any normal person would be instantly compelled to run away from the fleshy, spidery creature that was The Mindflayer, but, seeing that thing raise its claw at her big brother sent Charlotte’s systems into overdrive. She didn’t even think. She just prised herself out of Max’s grip and ran for her brother.

Billy waited for the blow that would surely end his life, he just hoped it would buy the kids some time, time for his sisters to get the hell out of dodge, time for the strange girl with telekinetic powers to finish the damn thing off, time for everyone else to make it out alive. That blow never came. Billy opened his eyes to see his little sister, his BABY SISTER, the light of his life, stood looking into his eyes, with a now gaping hole in her chest.

Numb. That’s what Charlotte Hargrove felt in that moment. Everything around her was numb and she felt cold. That’s the thing about adrenaline, you don’t tend to feel the pain right away. Charlotte felt relieved, relieved that she reached Billy in time, that he was still breathing. Then she felt fear. Why was everyone screaming? Why was Eleven’s nose bleeding again? And why was Billy crying?

That’s when she felt the agony, and she crumbled to the floor.

Charlotte’s vision was swimming now, she felt the burning in her chest, she felt the wet patch under her back steadily getting larger, and she saw her brother and sister kneeling beside her, crying too hard to form a sentence as they called out her name and begged her to get up, but Charlotte couldn’t hear them, she couldn’t hear anything.

They say your life flashes before your eyes when you are dying, and Charlotte now saw that was true. She saw the best memories of her life flash past her brain. Learning to ride a bike with her dad at age 4. Baking a birthday cake with Billy at age. Meeting Mike, Lucas, Dustin and Will in school at age 13. Killing the Demodogs with the party and Steve Harrington at age 14. Kissing Will Byers behind the bike shed at school just to find out what it was like, then getting blushy when you both relised that you both loved the feeling and had to it some more at age 15, just months ago. And standing together as a group of friends, a family to fight this monstrosity with fireworks. Oh how Charlotte wished it had worked. Everyone around the girl was in hysterics. Nancy and Johnathan were holding Mike, Lucas and Dustin close to them as they simply stared, silently crying for their friend who was dying not five ten feet away from them. Robyn, Charlotte’s french tutor and friend, held a sobbing Will Byers, who was distraught at the loss of the girl he held so dear, the pretty girl with the butterscotch hair, ocean eyes and sunshine smile who would peck his lips when they were alone and tell him how he was the bravest person she knew. Steve Harrington raced forward to pick an echausted, crying El from the floor and ensure her safety, after doing so he finally let the grief settle into the pit of his stomach at the thought of the little spitfire of a girl who wasn’t afraid of Demodogs or flesh monsters was dying because she was brave enough to save her brother’s life. But Billy and Max still begged for their beloved sister. Sure, Billy was often a prick, but no one meant more to him than his baby sister, who now wouldn’t live to see sixteen. Charlotte let her eyes wander the crowd of people before her, her makeshift family who filled the hole her mother left behind. When her eyes finally returned to her siblings she cracked a smile and laid her hands on their cheeks, wiping their tears away, she was ice cold now and ready to let go. With the last of the strength in her body she muttered a soft “ I love you all ” to the room. Then the room faded to black and Charlotte Hargrove was gone, she died a hero and everyone who ever heard her story would know it. ———————————————— Making her way through the misty corridors of the white place she found herself in she met face to face with a rather short man with a kind smile. He offered her his hand and spoke to her in his happy voice “you did well Lottie, it’s time to come home now”. Charlotte let her gaze soften in recognition of the man before her. “You’re Bob, Bob Newby”. Bob let out a soft chuckle and started to lead her down the white corridor that stretched as far as the eye could see and then some. “Yep that’s me”. Charlotte giggled “Will said you are a superhero.” This comment made Bob smile and he turned to the small girl beside him taking her hand.

“You are too”.

If there was one thing to be anticipated upon opening the bunker doors and lumbering inside, Laura knew the mean end of a shotgun was not the first on her list. Her first reaction was an ungodly squawk as she stumbled onto her backside, the guitar case clattering off her back and the bag of paints spilling onto the ground.

“Son of a bitch, Murray!” was her second, her anger rightly placed as she struggled to get to her feet while simultaneously gathering her strewn paraphernalia. Her hair was in massive disarray, and her tanned hands were splotched and smudged with still-drying paint.

“‘Knock before you walk’,” Murray seethed as he withdrew the shotgun, tugging on his beard in a sort of annoyed manner. “You know you're supposed to buzz the warning before sashaying in unannounced - you know that!”

“And I also know I'm the only other person besides you who knows how to get inside,” the Latina mumbled. The man slid to block her back before she could walk inside, and she produced a loud, tired huff. “It's been a long day, Murph. I just need a place to crash for the night. Nothing out of the ordinary.”

“If you would've buzzed before bursting in,” Murray stated, clearly tense as the short Latina tried to bob around him. “You'd know that I was a bit busy at the moment -”

“- busy fucking around with the Girl Scout at the door when there are more important things to -”

Laura cut off the unfamiliar voice, “Another human being! Murph, I thought I was your only connection to the world above, you minx!” She seized the opportunity to dart past the eccentric and his shotgun just as he opened his mouth to object. The girl skipped through the armoured doors and into the main room, halting in her steps to visually greet three brand new individuals with a weary-but-still-pleasant disposition. There was a short, bleary-eyed, and oddly expressive woman, an angry moustached wall of a guy who resembled a father at the end of his wit, and a very unsettled, dishevelled man curled up in one of the loveseats. Naturally, Laura was not at all surprised by the oddities of the company - after all, she was friends with Murray Bauman of all people - and she set down the case of her guitar with a smile.

“Of all places a nice girl would be, I would never have guessed the home of a paranoid hermit,” the first man grumbled, placing his face in his hands and rubbing at the weariness lining his expression. The woman beside him sent her elbow into his arm lightly, shooting Laura an apologetic look, though she didn't appear to disagree with his assessment.

While the first stocky slab of a man ran a thumb over his moustache with an utterly exasperated noise, the woman next to him quickly got to her feet, moving to attempt an awkward introduction as she began to consolidate a clutter of wrappers and fast-good carnage together on the coffee table. The third man, likely younger than the other two, was staring at the newcomer through his glasses, wearing an aura of newly introduced confusion.

As Murray came bumbling back into the room, he seized Laura by the shoulders and attempted to steer her back towards the front door. She wriggled free with a wince, and, after casting another quick look at the trio around the table, quipped, “You never have company. Either you're doing something illegal, or convening to stop something illegal illegally.”

“How about Russian translations and a wild goose chase?” Murray muttered, massaging his forehead before nodding in the vague direction of the younger man. “This is Dr. Alexei, our very own foreign menace, graced by the company of Officer Jim Hopper and Joyce Byers.” He added in a tired tone, “Ne bespokoysya Ona bezvredna,” waving his hand. The young man, Alexei, loosened his shoulders slightly, still eyeing the little Latina with both wariness and interest.

“Okay. So, Jim -”

“Hopper,” the first man grunted.

“Oh - okay, Hopper. Joyce. Alexei.” Laura recited each name. “Neat. Anyone want something to drink?”

“You're not - Laura, I swear to Christ - can you at least stay in the other room?” Murray spoke exasperatedly, trying and failing to guide her out of the area.

Laura feigned offence. “You haven't even offered your guests a drink besides that crap Burger King calls edible?” she scoffed as Murray threw his hands into the air. She looked at the doctor, saying with playful sympathy, “I'll bet he didn't even get you water.”

“Apparently a strawberry Slurpee was worse than water,” Hopper growled before Joyce yanked at his arm as if to say ‘shut up, you big oaf.’

“He said strawberry was fine now!” the woman protested, but he waved her off. They then descended into what was most definitely a lover’s quarrel before Murray made a loud and obnoxious shhing noise through his teeth.

“Shut. Up.”

The others complied, except Laura, of course.

“So, what is going on here?” she queried, picking at a spot of dry paint on her knuckles. She moved to hoist her guitar case over to leave against the nearest wall, still observing the others.

There was a beat of silence, puckered by an annoyed whine from Murray before Joyce began to speak up. “Are you from Hawkins?”

Laura shook her head. “No. I'm just two towns over. Read what happened last year, though - that's some crazy stuff -” She cut herself off. “Byers. Byers - you're the woman who found her son two years ago! Er, what was his name -”

“Will.” Joyce showed a soft smile. Murray seemed to have given up on trying to reign in the conversation and had gone rooting through the kitchen, presumably for alcohol.

“Yeah! I'm glad you found him,” Laura went on with a shrug before perching herself on the armrest of one of the empty seats. When she caught the man called Alexei watching her with friendly intent, she shot him a grin before turning back to Joyce. “How's he doing these days?”

“Good - well, better!” Joyce answered, the smile remaining on her features before she was interrupted by an unintelligible grumble from Hopper. “Oh, what is it now? Do you need a Slurpee now? You big - baby - man.”

“Just saying,” the policeman said slowly, tone wavering with restrained irritation. “Not solving the Russian situation with small talk.”

“Russians? So they've finally broken through our defences?” Laura sounded only half facetiously.

Hopper gestured halfheartedly to Alexei. “Ask Smirnoff over here. He's the one with a big-ass base under the goddamn mall.”

Laura creased her brows, turning back to Alexei and repeating, “Base?”

“He can't understand you,” Joyce piped up, just as Murray came strolling in with a glass of what was probably whiskey.

“Doesn't know a lick of English,” Murray confirmed tiredly before falling back into the seat adjacent to the Latina. “I'm the nearest local translator, apparently,” he added with a gallon of absolutely sarcastic glee before tossing the whiskey down his throat. He winced before smiling way too widely.

Laura outed a small ‘ooooh’ as tucked a curl of hair behind her ear, looking at the scientist apologetically. Jamming a thumb into her chest, she made a clear introduction by saying, “Laura.” The Soviet repeated it slowly, thick and hesitant from his tongue. The grin that lit up her features sent a blossom of red spiralling into the young man’s face.

“Alrighty then. Since everyone knows my name now, why don't you all get me caught up on what the hell is happening?”

She humorously took the gurgling sounds of malcontent from Murray’s glass as an affirmative.

When all was said and done, it was an understatement to say Laura was baffled, if not utterly blown away by the massive import of information that had just been funnelled into her brain, all in a little less than an hour. However, visibly to Murray’s amusement, the presumed couple - who made it a point to announce that they were, in fact, not involved - went off into another minor argument before Murray had cordoned them off into another room.

Laura had taken it upon herself to sit on the floor beside the coffee table and sort out grocery baggie of paints, attempting to clean her hands off in the midst. “Russians have invaded America, and they chose to do so in the ass-end of nowhere. That was clever on their part, I will admit,” the woman mused over the muffled shouts coming from the other room. She rubbed her eyes tiredly, watching Murray come out of the kitchen and situate himself next to the Russian scientist on the sofa across from Laura. ”And he really doesn't understand English?” she requested confirmation, gently nodding her head at Alexei.

”Not a word.”

”Ah,” she murmured, drumming her paint-stained fingers along her leg. She sounded disappointed.

Alexei appeared to notice this, sitting up a smidge as he looked between Murray and Laura, eventually mumbling something to the other man with raised brows. Murray shook his head and replied, pausing in the middle before finishing with the babbling syllables, “Yedinstvennyye drugiye yazyki kotoryye ona znayet eto ispanskaya i umnaya zadnitsa.”

When Laura looked at him expectantly, Murray rolled his eyes and translated, “I told him you only speak English, Spanish, and Smartass.”

The Latina held up a very special finger. Murray chortled tiredly, muttering, “Yeah, you too, Lottie.”

After a reprieve, looked up again and asked slowly, “Do you, ah - do you think I could talk to him? Through you, I mean -”

Before she could even finish, Murray was out of his chair and fleeing to the kitchen for what was presumably more alcohol. “No, no, no, no, don't get me started. No. You already never shut your mouth as it is.”

Laura raised her hands in defence. “Jesus, Murph … I just want to talk to the guy. And I think you owe me for putting your thing in my face.” A pause, then through a sly grin, “Me pregunto cómo reaminará la Mamá cuando escucha cómo trataste a tus invitados.”

Murray gripped his glass with white knuckles and resignation, staring down the young woman - plus Alexei, who had no idea what was going on - before leaving the room, only to return with an armful of paper and a few dull pencils. “Comprise. Knock yourself out with a round of Pictionary first. I'll ‘repay’ you by being a translator tomorrow. Deal?”

Laura clicked her tongue and scrambled over to fetch the supplies, responding with a coy, “Es un acuerdo,” before watching Murray dramatically excuse himself. Looking over to the confused Russian, she smiled, scooting closer to his seat as his eyes followed her movements curiously. He opened his mouth to ask a question but shut it after remembering only one person in the bunker understood him. His brows furrowed, and he sat back with a faint little huff until Laura edged up next to him. He appeared a bit confused by her smile. Nevertheless, she raised a pencil and said anyways, “Let's play some Pictionary, comrade.”
