Larissa pressed you against the soft cushions of your living room couch, her body fitting perfectly with yours as she rested between your thighs. A cold chill ran against your skin as soft, gentle hands explored the canvas you pushed forward, tracing over every dip, every scratch, every smooth expanse that your body had to offer. Her hand wrapped around you, your back arching as she pulled you up and consumed you with her touch.

If the Heavens ever did speak..

Her lips trailed down your jawline, starved kisses making their claim against the beautiful skin that housed your sinful soul. A whimper left your throat as her tongue met your pulse point, flattening and licking a long stripe up to your ear. Her voice was low as she spoke, a deep rumble in her chest projecting itself into desire dripping with lust. "Don't hide those delicious sounds from me, my darling.."

Her hands traveled down your sides, tracing her fingertips down to your thighs as goosebumps were left in their wake. Her lips made their way down, down, down, her hot breath igniting a wave of electricity to shoot down to your core. Her tongue swiped over your right bud, swirling around the sensitive skin before capturing it in her mouth. An unadulterated moan left your lips as she sucked, your back arching into her ministrations as one of her hands toyed with the other.

She gave the other bud the same amount of attention, pulling back after and admiring just how delectable you looked underneath her. A deep blush covered your features as your chest heaved, your eyes were dark and full of lust, full of want, full of the need to have her take all of you. She traced her fingers lightly along all the marks that were littered against your skin, appreciating them as though they were the most beautiful pieces of art that she'd ever made.

"Please.." The word left your lips weakly, merely above a whisper and contrasting the fire that burned within your lungs. It spurred her on, causing a sinister smirk to rise on her lips as she lowered her head between your thighs, facing where you needed her the most. Her lips ghosted along your inner thighs, your heart jumping to your throat as the need for her grew by the second. She placed kisses against your core, letting out a hum as the juices that managed to spill out made a presence against her lips. Her tongue ran through your folds, your nails sweetly digging into her shoulders as her tongue met your bundle of nerves.

The sounds she was capable of forcing out of your throat were sinful, and it was then that you realized how lucky you were to worship a goddess as unholy as her. Your back arched as she sucked your clit, the sensation coursing through your body and tearing a broken moan from your lungs. Her fingers teased your entrance, collecting your juices like a nectar before easily slipping into your core.

I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies..

Your eyes fluttered shut as ecstasy took hold of your being, taking you in its corrupted grip as you begged to see stars. Her nails dug into your thigh, eliciting a hiss from you as the succulent pain kept you in the moment, kept you in the pleasure, kept you with her. A warmth slowly consumed your being, spreading to all ends of your soul and building you up with each curl of her fingers.

Her speed quickened as you got lost in the pleasure she provided you, the sight before her becoming an addiction she would dive into time and time again. A loud knock at the front door stole you from the hold of ecstasy, another set of knocks following and making you sober up. You both rushed to gather your clothes, picking everything up and becoming presentable before peeking through the blinds to see who still stood behind it, not knowing who would come up as you took the two of your to visit your hometown. All had gone well so far, though.. you were just forced to face the inevitable, the sight causing your heart dropping to your feet and your blood slow in your veins.

Offer me that deathless death..

Your parents stood behind the door, the tension building itself and closing up your throat at the thought that the only thing keeping you separated was a piece of wood. Your relationship with them wasn't the best and you were hoping that they wouldn't catch wind of you being there, let alone catch you with your lover. You turned to Larissa as panic rushed through your veins.

"You-" You cupped her face in your hands, gently rubbing your thumbs across her cheeks. Tears threatened to fall from your eyes as every horrible thing they used to do to you came flooding back. They would never accept you, and if they saw this? You were sure you wouldn't see the light of day again. "You need to go.. please.."

Good God, let me give you my life..

A wave of confusion consumed her, the worry in your features stilling her blood as she realized exactly what you meant. "I- No. I can't leave you with them-"

"They'll kill you-"

"They'll kill you!"

A silence filled the room, and you hoped for everything wrong to fade from existence as you looked into her eyes. They were so full of concern, so scared for what would happen, so scared to leave you. "Meet me at the spot by the river.. I promise, Larissa.. I'll be there. Please.."

The moment in which she realized she didn't have a choice settled in her bones and made her soul feel heavy. Another set of knocks echoed off the walls of your found sanctuary, pushing reality, pushing dread, pushing hate to the forefront of your minds. You led her to the backdoor, urging her to get there safely as she slowly disappeared from your view.

My lover's the sunlight..

You'd do anything to protect her, especially from the entities that stood just a few feet away. Your hand grasped the doorknob, everything stilling as you turned and opened the door. "Oh! Hi.. Sorry, I was-"

They pushed themselves in, forcing their existence in your temporary home, sucking the safety out of it as they walked deeper into the house. Your father spoke, his voice never straying far from demanding."Why didn't you tell us you were here?"

She demands a sacrifice..

They settled around the kitchen island, your mom placing her bag down as your dad leaned against the countertop, both facing you and demanding explanations in the end.

"I'm here for work-"

"Bullshit," your mom spat out, venom lacing her voice. "No one would come to a small town like this just for work."

"You'd actually be surprised.." You trailed off as you rested against the opposite counter, never making the mistake of not facing them while speaking again. You had done so once, and the aftermath was nothing less than swollen. "There's a lot you can do with the outcast-"

"You're still on about that? When are you gonna move on from them?"

"Maybe the day I become a normie.."

Your head was harshly turned to the side as a solid smack made way against your cheek, the familiar feeling of your fathers ring slicing up the skin and allowing a burn to settle there. You rose a hand to your cheek, touching lightly before wincing, a warm feeling soaking into your fingerprints. You didn't even need to look to know what had happened.

Something meaty for the main course..

"You are not different, y/n! Do you hear me?" Your fathers voice boomed through the kitchen, successfully stealing the breath from your lungs as your eyes shut in fear. Your hands trembled and you gripped the edge of the counter behind you to ground yourself, before looking into his eyes for what felt like the first time in your life.

"I'm done being erased by you.." Your voice was weak, lost somewhere in your throat but was pushed out by the feeling of finally being able to be yourself, the feeling of finally being able to live with Larissa, to truly live with her. "You've taken too much from me, and I want it back."

Confidence brought your posture up, your soul projecting itself to stand your ground. Laughs were reflected back at you, forcing anger through your veins as each one escaped their throat. Your stance wavered, and your mother took the opportunity to grip you by the collar of your shit, bringing you the closest to her that you've been in years.

She took you in, took in the fire that burned behind your eyes, took in the dread that coursed through your veins, took in the way that you didn't back down this time.. Her eyes scanned along your features, landing at the base of your neck that was now exposed to her. "You're here with a woman!"

That looks tasty..

Another hard smack landed on your face, making pain radiate against your cheekbone. You took in a breath, shaking it in your throat before it settled in your lungs. Your eyes were trained down to her feet, and you knew there was nothing you could say.. She'd seen the marks..

That looks plenty..

"I didn't want-" You were cut off by another one, this time being shoved against the counter behind you and forced to look into her eyes. Your head throbbed as the room spun every so slightly.

"You have no right to speak.. You have no right to be part of this family." She paused, allowing her words to situate themselves in your ears.

This is hungry work..

"I never was-" The last one to every grace you was planted against your skin. Your soul screamed with the knowledge, but your body wildly contrasted the feeling as tears streamed down your face, the salt burning the open wound before you shot your gaze up to your mother.

"Leave."

Take me to church..

You walked forward, pressing her against the other counter before clawing her hands off you. The action shocked them both, and it was then that your parents realized that they no longer had you under their control - you worshipped one goddess, and it was your goal to get back to her.

"Y/n.. wait.. we only-"

"Leave! You said it yourself. I'm not part of this family, and I'm enacting that statement now. Get out of my house."

You forced them out the door, grabbing them by the arms and shoving them out, causing them to trip over their own feet as the door slammed behind them - the image of who they were in your life quickly slipping away as a fresh breath filled your lungs.

You ran through the house, from the front door to the back one and jumped past the steps. You needed to get back to her.

Only then I am human..

Your feet met the hard ground beneath you, rocks and leaves getting blown away with the urgency found within your steps. The cool air filled your lungs, a burning feeling making way to your throat with every breath. You stopped at the top of the hill, taking in the sight in front of you as you took a moment to catch your breath.

Only then I am clean..

The sun was setting, casting the valley in a golden glow, your lover stood at the edge of the river, the rushing water filling your ears as you watched her run her hands through the clear liquid, her hair glowed along with the light, and her features ran soft even though there was a filter of worry that overcasted them.

You made your way over to her, the shuffling of your body causing her to shoot her gaze in your direction. A bright smile met her lips as she stood up and rushed over to you, soon being overshadowed in the worry that quickly consumed her.

Amen, Amen, Amen

She cupped your face gently, taking in the intensity of your wound as you watched her eyes scan over every aspect of your face. "How-"

"They're not going to bother us anymore.." You sunk into her touch, pressing the uninjured side your face against her palm as you closed your eyes, your hands shooting up to hold hers as your thumbs rubbed against her knuckles.

You were quickly consumed into a soul crushing hug, the air knocking out of your lungs as a small yelp left your lips. You quickly started laughing as you squeezed her back, the love your felt for each other radiating off your skin. She turned her head, resting it on your shoulder before speaking. "Let's go back.. Let me take care of you, love."

A smile rose to your lips as your turned your head just as she did moments before. You already felt the safety echo through your chest, bouncing across your ribcage and settling into your heart. A light chuckle left you as your locked eyes with hers. "Yeah.. Let's go.."

Good God, let me give you my life..

it does get a bit heavy in the middle but after rewatching the music video I needed to display some of the emotions from that and was inspired and ended up with this hehe.

Astarion x Dark Urge WARNINGS: Heavy Angst, Blood and Gore, Hurt/Comfort, Dark Urge, mentions of slavery, Astarion backstory. More will be added as I write. Summary: Tav is a Drow Lolth Sworn. They can't remember anything about themselves but when they look in the water by the fallen ship, they see red eyes staring back at them through broken glasses. A/N: Hello!!! First I want to say that this is NOT a song fic, I just think the lyrics fit very well with what I have in mind and will probs use them as the chapter titles. Second! This is following the path I've taken in my dark urge play through except I get to make it the way I want it to be. Third! I will be using the name Tav as a place holder. Bungou Stray Dogs Osamu Dazai Animatic Idea.

Song: Fireflies

Basically this is an idea dump for an animatic I know I'll never make. If anyone gets inspired from this pls tag me.

So you probably know, how I CANNOT draw to save my life, and have very little experience in animation. Yeah, well I still have ideas for animatics so reluctantly, (but also eager for all the artist on here to see it) I'm going to share this really crusty animatic plan I made for a Dazai animatic with the song fire flies by owl city.

Like I said, I can't draw, so I made this using google slides (my trusty compainion) and horrid clip art so pls exuse it. It's just for general lay out and some notes about motion. Also when making it, I didn't intend to have lyrics displayed on screen, but I did put them for reference.

Because I can't draw but I wanted to make an animatic, I give you this really specifc break down of one instead. I just really thought that the somg fireflies was perfect for Dazai so I made this crappy thing. Here you go!

Don't quetsion the flowers. I just put them tehre because I fiund them while searching for other stock iamges/clipart and though that they were pretty. The title slide is prettyu much just for funsies and not part of the mian animatic.

ONE

So the basic idea of this one is the bed is in greater focus. He's laying awake, his arm handing off the side, with a bottle of pills spilt out onto the floor (from a failed Dazai typcial su!c!de attempt) Some fireflies flutter up in the top right corner of the room, maybe by a small high up window. There's a nightsand on the right side. The gardient has nothing to do with colour pallet, I just wanted to amke a gradient. Lol

TWO

The door stock image is a little fancy, but I couldn't find a regualr door fpr some reason, idk. Pretty mush he's wlaking to the door, maybe Dazai's hand is reaching for the knob.

THREE

This one is arugaubly the most complicated. Yes, I know the detail is going crazy with this clipart(sarcastic). Here's the note I put, inse it's too small. (He’s walking outside from inside. Going onto the lawn. Show him walking through the door. Show side of house with window w/ curtains to indicate, maybe wood siding. Def show grass and fireflies hovering outside of door. He’s crying a little bit.)

FOUR

He's standing in the middle of a field surrounded by many fireflies, looking around in awe, still teary.

FIVE

Farily simple. Somehow or another he's in space (hey, it's artistic license) He's standing on top of Earth and Earth is spinning underneath him. Starts blink/twinkle.

SIX

He's lying on his bed looking up at the ceiling. The fireflies have folowed him inside somehow. They give the mostly dark room a soft glow.

SEVEN

Fireflies surrounding Dazai and some lading on his shoulders and maybe hair. (The arms on the clipart manare so messed up because the fireflies are on a white not transparent background but it's hard to tell because the slide is also white.)

EIGHT

He’s dancing kind of, no specific moves needed, just enough to give the impression. Maybe twirling, idk. Fireflies follow his movements, drifting up and down and side to side with him. They move a little before he does, appearing to guide him.

NINE

A kitsune jumping over Dazai's bed. I imagined it looking like the full fox form of him in that one Kitsune Mayoi card. (https://images.app.goo.gl/atvjvAELR2ec1eBv9)

TEN

He's laying under his bed staring upwards. Idk thsi scene is weird, I know.

ELEVEN

He's on his tippy toes recahing up twoards a disco ball suspended from the ceiling by a noose.

FOURTEEN

Yay a new scene after the repeats! It's the front door again from the inside veiw. It's cracked open and there's light comming from within the house, fireflies fly out and back into the night.

FIFTEEN

This scene to me is about his guilt. He's now sititng up in bed and there's a thought bubble with the logo of the sheep.

SIXTEEN

Ofc it wouldn't be a true Dazai animatic without his bestie! Oda cameo, yay! Here he's standing over Oda's grave, not crying but looking very sad.

SEVENTEEN

I don't think i need to explain this one very much lol. I couldn't find a way to show this with images so I jsut wrote it out. Reminescent of this scene (https://www.reddit.com/r/BungouStrayDogs/comments/u57xqv/what_does_this_scene_in_the_opening_symbolize/) But with Dazia and Oda instead of Dazai and Chuuya.

We're gonna do something a little different this #AudioDramaSunday! This week was one where music was my go-to rather than podcasts so instead of episode reviews, I'm gonna do a track-by-track breakdown of all of the music released so far for The Grotto as I had it on repeat

Starting off with Hush which is the first song on the album and also the show's theme. It's got a brilliant beat to it accompanied by these bursts of vocals that crescendo into a harshness that's excellent. The HUSH gives me chill every time. I'm fully obsessed with this song

The next track is the first instrumental. Dejected feels like the music you would find in a cave. It's creeping and wet and a little haunting before the softness of the piano and the beat hit. This song has a heartbeat to it that feels tangible in the best way

Buried Alive has some of my favorite lyrics Athan has written. There's just something about the way he sings "Maybe I would be happier buried alive" that chills me to the core. Also something you'll notice is Athan likes vocal modulation a lot and it always works so well

Matt's (Usually) Confused is very aptly titled. It starts soft and slowly builds to become more all encompassing, feeling like Matt's racing thoughts as it does so

I Will Follow You Into the Dark fucks me up (positive) "Love of mine, you will die, and I'll be close behind" like Athan how am I meant to recover from that? This song as a depth to it that can be felt, like it's carving its way into a deep cave and submerging itself in the dark

I absolutely adore Emily's Theme! There's something about it that brings the word "fleeting" to mind, like Emily is running through the music and making her way out through the song itself

Which leads us to Stumble Into You and holy fuck yall Lyssa Jay has a lovely voice. Yes I'm biased because I love Lyssa but I'm also RIGHT! This song makes me a little feral, especially where Lyssa and Athan meet in the song its beautifully done

We're at the first cover on the album! This is literally the only version of Ghost of You I will listen to, Athan brings a life to this song that punches to the lyrics way more effectively than the original version does

It's Cryptic in the Grotto is another very well named song because it sure can be cryptic in this godsdamned Grotto. The whispering of it all leaves me unsettled in the best way before opening into this plucky instrumental I'm obsessed with

Looking for Answers is so Orpheus and Eurydice coded that it drives me insane. "I still feel you behind me. Your breath is slow. I'm terrified I'll end up alone." Athan you can't do this to me. There's also a lovely fast bit in this with lyrics ricocheting through the verse

Athan's cover of Hurt might actually be my favorite version of this song I'm sorry except I'm not. It suits Athan's range so well and has this almost gravely texture to it that makes me feel like I'm going feral. Everything about it is deep and dark and wonderful

Coping is NOT aptly named. You know what Matt ISNT doing? Coping. He's not coping AT ALL. It's a beautiful song and it also has some of my favorite Athan lyrics but it's from an episode called Coping and let me tell yall Matt is not making good choices in this show

If You Could See Me Now breaks my heart in the best way. The idea of trying to make someone proud while knowing that you're disappointing yourself so you're not making them proud kills me. The instrumental/electronic portions of this song are incredible

Hush (Acoustic) is wonderful and light and I cannot hear it without thinking of the episode 4 credits which make me want to shake Athan (affectionate)

There is a cover of Chasing Cars (one of my favorite songs of all time) performed by the Fringes' very own @taytayheyhey (one of my favorite people) and it became my most played song of the year *so fast* Its a wonderful and almost haunting cover of one of the songs of all time

Last song! Waiting Room also breaks my heart open in my chest because Athan did lyrics too good. "If you were a waiting room, I'd never see a doctor I'd just sit there with my first aid kit and bleed" circles through my brain at all times and I'll never forgive Athan for it

In terms of shows I actually listened to this week, I listened to the new eps of @tellnotalespod , @woebegonepod , and @camlannpod which were all incredible as always

Trigun Stampede Spoilers

As we get to the final episode of the season, those familiar with the basic story beats of Trigun know there's a decent chance we could end this arc on a bit of a downer note. But Orange won't do that; no, they can't do that. Not if they want to stay true to the themes of the story.

Vash is the ever-blooming flower in the desert, the light in the darkest of storms, hope springing eternal even in the face of the most monstrous situations. To end the series on a note that lacks even the tiniest of flickers of that light would be to do a disservice to all that Vash is.

But in spite of all the horror that happened in Episode 11, I think Orange will pull through. Why? Because they've demonstrated multiple times that they're keenly aware of this aspect of Vash's character, and have gone out out of their way to express that.

I'm just gonna go over three places where they've shown that below, though I believe there are more to be found:

The Opening Song - Kvi Baba by Tombi I could go over the entirety of the lyrics, but I'll just focus on the bridge and chorus. 失いたくない I don't wanna lose これ以上の愛 Any more love 失いたくない I don't wanna lose これ以上の愛 Any more love 今⽇と明⽇の境なら未だ無 The border between today and tomorrow is still missing 眠れずに⾒る悪夢は終わらない Sleepless nightmares never end それでも僕は希望を忘れない But I never forget my hope それでも明けぬ夜ならここにない Through every dark night there's a bright day, even here This might as well just be Vash's theme song. I mean, this is the guy who's all about Love and Peace, who's body is a scarred-up mess because he's constantly putting himself in danger to help people. He's lost so much and hurt so much and been through so much, but even through the worst of it, he can't help but keep striving toward his goal. (Brief spoilers for '98 in the next paragraph. If you want to avoid them, skip to #2.) Those who have watched '98 (and I think maybe Maximum fans? IDK, I don't remember much of Maximum...) might remember the Ericks arc. Even then, when he's supposed to be in hiding and not being Vash the Stampede, boy can't stop himself from interfering (sometimes at great risk to himself) when he sees others in danger. He's always gotta help, and he's always gotta keep trying to pull everyone he can find toward that hope that he strives for.

The Soundtrack Itself The soundtrack, as it should, goes through a lot of different moods, but despite the foreboding and anxiety in the penultimate track (titled Millions Knives), the final track (titled Trigun Stampede) is light and hopeful. It also has lyrics. I couldn't find an official source for them, but it seems to include the following lines: Call me Vash the Stampede Live in Love and Peace Maybe a musician for an opening or closing song is gonna miss a few story points if they're not paying attention, but it seems unlikely they'd casually overlook this element in their soundtrack. Not when they've put so much work into capturing a reasonable facsimile of Vash. Additionally, a well-designed soundtrack should reflect the story it's trying to tell... and while I might be stretching a bit on this one, I'd like to think Stampede's soundtrack is well done. So it begs the question, why end the soundtrack that way if you're not going to have the story circle back to that light?

The Plant Manifestation at the End of Episode 11 I actually missed this one at first, so I'm glad other people noticed and pointed it out. After everything that happened in Ep 11, after Knives went after every memory and every moment of value to Vash and removed them with surgical precision, apparently he still can't entirely remove Vash's memory of Rem, because she's the figure blooming over July. Not Vash. Not Nai. Not another more plant-ish being. Rem, the surrogate mother who meant everything to Vash, whose brief existence continues to spur him forward to hope in the face of hopelessness. Knives tried to take everything away from Vash, to leave him as nothing but a husk, but some aspect of Rem still remains.

But I find myself wondering if Vash will be in any condition to keep holding that light at the season's end. I wonder if, instead of giving it back to Vash right away, Orange will instead give it to Meryl, and she'll hold onto it until Vash comes back to himself. Seems like she's holding a lot right now, but she seems both willing and able. Meryl's always been a bit of a fighter in her own way, and I could see her with all her determination declaring that no, this is not the end, that she will keep moving forward toward the ideal Vash chased, and she'll drag him along until he can walk the path on his own again, and then they'll both walk it together.

Hopefully, Wolfwood will be there, too. And who knows? Maybe they'll pick up another friend along the way....

Numb to the Elements (Kryterius)

hmmm well we all know i love my clever wordplay, i think for this one we'll veer off from what's probably expected and go to some point during nihlus's training. obviously they're somewhere cold and unpleasant on a mission, but for Meaningful Title's sakes, instead of the obvious answer of altakiril it should be somewhere significant to one of them, just during shit weather season. let's say carthaan in the winter, prairie winters are nasty. they have to actually be out in it, so... tracking a terrorist through the outback? sure, sounds good.

so it's a training mission, nihlus is expected to take point, they're tracking some asshole through the unsettled portion of carthaan during the winter, it sucks. saren obviously knows the planet well, he's from the outskirts of carthaan's settled areas, but he's being deliberately unhelpful to force nihlus to Learn Something™️, which keeps pissing nihlus off, and the weather isn't helping. but eventually, their hunt starts pointing them towards a tiny town at the very edge of civilization, and the closer they get, the antsier saren is... until the weather finally forces them to seek shelter, and saren leads nihlus to a little empty house, and tells him what happened there.

nihlus feels strange being in the childhood home saren was wrested out of much too early, especially knowing the family has been hanging onto it and keeping it up in the hopes that saren will eventually return there for good. at this point in the story, he still hasn't reconciled with his mother, and he hasn't opened up to saren what happened - but the house isn't as empty as it seems, and as the ghosts of saren's past settle down at the kitchen table with them, he finds himself digging up his own, forcing himself to face things he hadn't realized still hurt.

whoops that got away from the point of the title but uhhhh the numbness is in reference both to the actual cold shitty weather and how nihlus and saren both avoid thinking about their past and dont talk about it much, there

Save My Soul (Desabrudas)

okay either this will be entirely as expected or not at all, depends how much attention you paid to the titles and taglines in bm, but here's the mood music because des's chapter in bm was title/taglined DIRECTLY from this song including the actual lyric "there's no use tryna save my soul":

we're going to the hastatim era, boys.

so we know i want to write an echo of mitm eventually, got it planned out and everything, but that's valis's perspective. so, to keep it even... yeah dude we're echoing wake me when it's over. this fic would follow des while he's in the hastatim, fighting (and failing) to keep his head above water. he's tired, and traumatized, and he just wants to go home, but by this point he sees no way out. he misses his parents, his friends, his brother, his maybe-sometimes-girlfriend. he can't stay. he can never leave.

i think, because the hastatim were a very dark point in des's life, this wouldn't be a happy fic, or have a good hopeful ending. to echo wmwio, he'd be tired and drinking alone, longing for the way things used to be and trying to figure out how to get out of the situation he's in, but he's dangerously depressed and can't see any way out but to die - but he can't do that either, because what will saren and parmat do, who will tell his friends? he scrolls through messages, his friends trying to get ahold of him and try to stay connected, but he thinks talking to them will make the distance hurt worse, and he doesn't want to tell them what he's doing in case they turn on him, because the hastatim are feared and hated and who wants to openly admit to being part of it? so he's sad. and drinking. and making himself sadder.

and maybe, because i get frustrated writing fics that don't go anywhere, this is taking place on taetrus again, in that same tree valis found him in in mitm. in a fit of loneliness and depression, he's tearing off strips of bark and trying to weave them together, because maybe if he can make valis a vinco she'll never get, he can pretend he has a goal for his life just a little longer. and while he's doing that, getting frustrated because he's drunk and it's hard, he gets a new text, from the very person he wants so so badly to be there with him. valis is worried about him, because nobody's heard from him in months and saren has no answers, and where is he.

he wants it to be real. he doesn't think it is. he stopped praying years ago.

he puts a little more effort into making the vinco look nice, and sleeps curled around it clutched in his hand.

Basically the gist of this fic, based on a conversation I had with @silver-the-phoenix (a lot of my fics are based on discord conversations wih silver,) is that, even after he's well adjusted to his happy Storybrooke life, Killian still remembers the anniversary of Milah's passing, and when he can't shake the sorrow, he slips away to the Jolly Roger to reflect- and is followed by a somewhat snoopy teenager, who wants to hear a few stories about his paternal grandmother from the pirate who knew her best...

The Admiral's Daughter

aahhhhhh my beloved! this wip is the second original book that I've written at least a full draft of, and I'm so proud of it. The basic gist is our main character, Maristella Arrington, is, well, the admiral's daughter, and she loves being at sea. At a ball her father hosts, she meets a promising naval lieutenant, and they hit it off really well. After hearing about her enthusiasm for exploring the oceans, he suggests she join the navy, and she realizes this is a great idea- not just because the cute guy she just met suggested it, but because it genuinely feels right; it makes sense to her. So, she and her best friend, Verity join the navy together. While at the naval academy, they recieve word that the ship that the lieutenant was serving on was sunk, and that there were no survivors. Of course, Maristella's shaken by this, but she tries to brush it off and focus on her role in the navy.

that is, until she has a run-in with a young pirate captain who seems altogether too familiar...

Always Remember (the burning embers)

the title of this fic may be familiar to some- it's some of the lyrics to The Great War, a Taylor Swift song that I've always felt sums up Killian and Emma in the Dark Ones arc. This fic is a missing moment, in which Killian and Emma have a conversation about some careless words Killian said during that dark time in their story. (i don't wanna share too many details, though. I'll save that for when I post it on Saturday 😉)

Thoughts from title: I've heard a little bit of the chorus for this one so I already know what this sounds like but it's happy<3

Initial reaction: love the instrumental, there voices are just so pretty. Such great lyrics this really is top tier music. Oh what I wouldn't give to attend a one direction concert

Overall thoughts: wonderful song, I love it so much it just scratches my brain in all the right ways. I love them so much there voices just work so well together. This song makes me wanna run away with someone and just be teenagers forever.

Heya! What would you say your favorite rwby songs are from the rwby soundtrack? Hope you're having a good day!

ooooooooooh... I'm going to spend entirely too much time on this ask, but I don't care because it's going to be fun. I'll give myself two favorites from each Volume, I think? So I don't ramble on for-fucking-ever. Onwards!

(Also consider every intro song as one of my favorites as well, because it's true.)

Volume 1:

I May Fall. The amount of foreshadowing in this song is insane and the fact that it's in the v1 soundtrack is laughable. Notably, it of course does have a hopeful message, but man... they had no idea what was comin', huh?

Red Like Rose, Pt. 2. Of course. The first little hint we see of especially Ruby's flawed coping mechanisms, and to have a song about Summer, like, ten years before she actually appears in the show is insane. It's a banger, and the lyrics "I made a sacrifice but forced a bigger sacrifice on you" is just!!!!!!! You know?

(Runner-up: Wings. You cannot convince me it's not the very first Bumbleby song.)

Volume 2:

Die. I guess I just really like dark songs from the earlier volumes; this one's just fun, and it does well to set up the Bad Times (tm) that are coming with v3. If you thought everything was fine and happy during the first two volumes, just check out the soundtrack. It didn't just come out of nowhere.

Sacrifice. Continuing on with the theme, I guess. I'm also a known Cinder Fan, so this as part of her theme is just... really, really cool. Again, some serious foreshadowing. The chorus for this one is really good; just again a super fun song to listen to.

(Runner-up: Boop. Banger.)

Volume 3:

It's My Turn. Fav Weiss song, maybe? Certainly one of the best ones. Sets the stage for Weiss' feelings considering her family that comes up in this volume and the next ones, and it helps that this song plays during the first arena fight with Team RWBY, which is a bomb-ass scene.

Divide. PEAK villain song, and I mean peak victorious villain song. The goal to split up the protagonists isn't exactly a rare thing, but the fact that it works... this entire song is just a kick to the face; they've already lost, and now they're having to hear about it. Divide them, and that's already happened. It's a fucking fantastic song. One of my favorites overall, I think, not just from v3.

(Runner-up: Mirror, Mirror, Pt. 2. Weiss gets a lot of great ones.)

Volume 4:

Like Morning Follows Night. Bit of an expected choice, probably, but this song is just too damn good. I really love the argument in the beginning between Blake and Sun, and it's just... god, it's good. Blake songs are always incredible.

Armed and Ready. I mean, of course. Yang's Getting Back Up moment, Bees crumbs, the incredible way the tone of this one changes from fear to determination?? Fantastic. Also, the title being a pun is just... yeah. It's so good.

(Runner-up: Bmblb, because of course. Also, holy fuck this volume was hard. V4's soundtrack is stacked.)

Volume 5:

Smile. Ilia! Love Ilia. Love this song. It has one of my favorite rhythms in RWBY, and man, the amount of character backstory that we get from it is crazy. It's not a backstory you really need to know if you don't listen, but it's nice to hear nonetheless. Ilia beloved <3

This Time. Like I said: Blake songs are always incredible. Blake and her papa!!! Making a better world for the Faunus!!! Just really love the implications of this song, of Ghira and Blake side-by-side as they rally the rest of Menagerie. Really cool.

(Runner up: All That Matters. The yearning, my god. Yang is down bad and she's going to make it everyone else's problem.)

Volume 6:

Miracle. A lingering darkness from v5; they're not at all in a great place by the beginning of v6, but they're still fighting! Another one of my actual favorites overall, it's just a banger.

Nevermore. A Blake and Yang duet that explicitly details how they're feeling when they stab Adam??? That's one of the best concepts I've ever heard, and it's insane. This one is also a bit nostalgic; I watched RWBY after v6 stopped airing but before the soundtrack had dropped, and I specifically remember jamming out to Nevermore the day it was released. Peak romance, actually.

(Runner-up: Indomitable. Still makes me want to cry. Singlehandedly one of the most powerful songs, I think.)

Volume 7:

Touch the Sky. Blake song!! Blake song where she's happy! Blake song where she talks about finally feeling like herself again!!! What the fuck!!!! This one gets me so emotional every time. She's healed.

War. Complete opposite vibes of the last, but still cool as hell. The fact that they got four different voices in this one to play as RWBY is incredible, and my god is it a banger. Betrayal vibes, obviously, but like, looking down your nose at the person who turned their back on you. Super cool.

(Runner-up: Brand New Day. Another happy one!! God... we had no idea how good v7 was being to us.)

Volume 8:

Treasure. Oh, you thought v5's All That Matters was peak yearning? You were wrong! Blake's pining knocks Yang's out of the park, especially considering they're apart in this volume for like, three days maximum. Blake is in love and she's going to make it everyone else's (Weiss') problem.

Friend. I mean... what can I say about this song? RWBY's not exactly short on "mourning this person" music, but the fact that this one is explicitly cheery... it's just. Wow. It's Penny in a nutshell, and while it's still devastating, it's also, like. Celebrating her life. Celebrating what she did get to have, rather than grieving that she won't get to have more. It's really, really good, and the song itself is fantastic.

(Runner-up: Be Strong and Hit Stuff. Nora themes! Emerald themes! And what a catchy chorus!)

Overall, thanks for this ask, I had way too much fun with it. Sorry for how long it got lmfao, I have Opinions about this show. I don't think there's a single song I actively dislike, though of course I've got my less favorites. Hope you enjoyed my madness :)

my top 10 kpop songs of 2023 :-)

after putting much too much thought and time into it, i have finally sorted out and written a list of my favorite kpop releases of 2023 ^_^ this was such a great year for kpop in my opinion, for full albums especially, and i hope 2024 will live up! in creating this, i decided to only include 1 song per artist, so as not to have the whole list be just one group. the songs often stand as representations of the entire albums, though. now here's my list :-)

a very special honorable mention goes to: "WOULD YOU RUN - Original Version" by TRI.BE, "LEFT RIGHT" by XG, "welcome to MY world" by aespa, and "loving me" by fifty-fifty (released in 2022 but i only got into it in 2023, but it's a masterpiece and deserves a shoutout)

10. super shy - new jeans i'll tell you one simple trick to ensure that you never grow to dislike a song from it being overplayed on tiktok: don't use tiktok. "supershy" is THE song of my summer. it's light, it's breezy, it's fun, and its repetiteveness only lends itself to it being so incredibly catchy. despite their questionable background as a group, newjeans and their team keep delivering music that feels like a breath of fresh air in the k-pop landscape, and i'm glad for it.

9. i want that - g-idle g-idle dominated this year with "queencard", which is not on MY personal list of favorites, but i would never deny its impact. however, though "i want that" was less successful, it hit so much harder for me - probably because of its actually enjoyable and catchy english lyrics (especially the verses), the dark undertones of the song, the dark… well, overtones, of the mv, and the masterful combination of the intense beat and the sweet bridge, nailed by miyeon's lovely vocals.

8. bye my neverland - kiss of life the initial soft, sugary, fairytale atmosphere of the song is soon elevated when a distant sound of a bell leads us through the prechorus right into an explosive chorus - not unlike the clock striking midnight and forcing cinderella to leave the ball. the emotional impact of this entry for me lies not really in its musical qualities, but in them being combined with the lyrics. "bye my neverland" is titled perfectly. it's an ode to making hard choices and to refusing to stay in your comfort zone, even if it seems crazy to throw it away - and at the same time, the song acknowledges that doing this is difficult. there's a sense of deep melancholy in it, but also comfort and hope. i guess that's growing up.

7. bouncy (k-hot chilli peppers) - ateez i am not a noise girlie at all, but i could not escape the siren song of ateez this year. "bouncy" goes so damn hard it's kind of ridiculous. every part is a joy to listen to, the members' deliveries are energetic and full of genuine passion - or sometimes nonchalant, when they should be -, and their live performances impressed me immensely. i might have to look more into their discography after this. "bouncy" doesn't need much description - it speaks for itself.

6. but sometimes - boynextdoor this is FUN music. i mean this more for this song than any other on this list: every single line, every sentence is deeply enjoyable and memorable. you know how some songs are nice and have pretty choruses, but when you try to remember what the verses sound like, you somehow just can't recall much? this is the opposite of that. such an incredibly fun song structure - and it's not even especially unusual. still, it's skillfully written in a way that seems to follow the phases one goes through after a breakup (or at least a teenager would). i also adore the choreography, and i'll be paying a lot of attention to boynextdoor from now on. especially jaehyun and his frankly insane charisma on stage.

5. mine - ive ive was my top artist on spotify this year, and for a good reason. in my humble opinion, they DOMINATED 2023. their first full album was absolutely killer, there is not a song on there that i dislike and "i am" is a masterpiece of a title track. however, because this is a deeply subjective list, i decided to go with "mine" as a representation of ive on here. it's my favorite track on the album, it was my 3rd most listened to song of the year as well and i love it so much. it scratches such a specific itch in my brain with its rhythmical tempo and dreamy soundscape. this song just sounds like what love feels like.

4. menow - fromis9 another perfect album of 2023 was in fact fromis' "unlock my heart". it seems like fromis have a fully realized musical identity now, and it's lovely to experience. there are better songs on the album, namely "attitude" (man that goes crazy), but "#menow" is still the heart of it, in my opinion. it feels genuine, fresh but cozy. there is a deep yearning for living life authentically to the song, and authenticity is one of the very main themes of the full album as well. "attitude" is phenomenal, but it lacks that wonderful casual girl-next-door vibe that fromis' body of work has to it, in my opinion. "#menow" captures it so well - while still being extremely fun! that prechorus? come on. other standouts on the album: "bring it on", "what i want", "eye contact".

3. rising - tripleS now here is my number 1 most listened to song of 2023. tripleS have released some super interesting-sounding stuff. i'm a big fan of "new look", and of "girls' capitalism" too, despite the title, but "rising" dominated. that second verse absolutely kills. i also love the first title-drop in the first verse, for some reason. the song is really catchy and fun, the mv looks kind of silly but gets you in the right mood, and i'm especially enamored with the last 2 lines. some songs have weak or underwhelming endings, but this is the opposite of that - i LOVE the very ending. what more do i need to say about tripleS? they were literally so right when they said la la la la.

2. farewell neverland - txt maybe i'm cheesy for it but i cannot resist a good acoustic guitar, especially when it goes as hard as it does in "farewell neverland". such a beautiful, beautiful song. deeply emotional, deeply mournful, DEEPLY atmospheric. AND it was the culmination of a gorgeous EP, which also featured such bangers as "sugar rush ride", "devil by the window" and "tinnitus". i don't know how to express how much i love this song. it's tragic, it's regretful, it's intense but measured. it sounds stunning and it is aging like a fine wine.

underwater - red velvet it's so difficult to pick just one song off a red velvet album. "chill kill" is perfection, everything i could expect from my favorite group and more. they never disappoint - they just keep surprising me with their music's longevity instead. among flawless bsides, "underwater" managed to slightly stand out. from first listen i felt there was something transcendent about the song, so it is here representing red velvet on my list proudly. there are few tracks that embody the 'velvet' of red velvet as completely as this one does. sensual, ethereal, a tiny bit dangerous. "underwater" gets you simultaneously submerged in the deep end and levitating in the air. i won't stand for ignoring "chill kill" the title track, though - it's perfect as well. the more positive-sounding melodies elevate the uncanny mood and really make it a classic red velvet title. and, okay - let me talk about the mv quickly. killer. literally. so creepy, so disturbing, so hopeful, so artfully made. and the vocals on the entire album are stunning, by the way. one other bside standout for me: "nightmare" - it literally has a musical structure which corresponds to the experience of having a nightmare and freaking out and then waking up and realizing it's all okay and it was just a dream. my GOD!!!! i come back to their music all the time, and the reason is simple: noone else does it like red velvet. they are a one of a kind kpop group and i'm so thankful for them.

Now that CyberHanami23 is over, I figured I'll clear my head and do a wrap-up on stuff I posted throughout the week. I went into it encouraged by my partner, without a clue about what I'll post and how long will it take me to break a streak. Turns out, I managed to post every day, which is something I'm very proud of.

I'm kinda new to this fandom, so during this week I managed to meet some beautiful people and see their jaw-dropping posts, made with love to their OCs and the franchise. Furthermore, I received an overwhelming amount of kind words towards my pics and characters in them. I can't find words to describe how grateful I am for that. It might sound cheesy, but for the lack of better words - thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to anyone that decided to even take a look at my stuff. It means a lot <3

So, how about some trivia about my cyberhanami23 posts? <3

I wanted to share more about Crystal and have a running theme - "Moving On" - but lack of any prior planning didn't do it a service. The theme is there, except it wasn't portrayed well at all. No one would ever guess what I had in mind. I wonder if I should write a post on how this theme relates to C.

For each day, I aimed to include a different character Crystal met at some point - and I almost managed to do that, apart from Day 7. There are many characters I'd like to include, but I wasn't able to come up with stories that would do them justice.

In Day 2, other than changing time of day, I didn't mess with the lighting. Yes, the last shot just came out like that, with no sun or any additional light sources. I didn't know how to do lighting yet.

I don't know what would be the deal between Crystal and Hanako, nor how does she know Meredith (Day 2 and Day 5). When I was initially developing her and listing every person she'll come in contact with, I figured she has to meet Hanako once. There are multiple reasons why their dynamic would be fantastic. Regarding Meredith, it's something I came up with the day before posting her. It'd be quite interesting if Stout had led a different life before becoming a corpo. And I wanted to pay her respect, as she ended up at the bottom of the ocean, wearing cement shoes, following my actions in the game.

Excluding blonde Crystal from Day 4, every picture from this week was shot the same day it was posted. Screenshots with blonde C are part of an upcoming post about her last day as a nomad. She's indeed a natural blonde and these pics are supposed to show that day.

The red Shion Targa MZT visible in some of the days is canonically Crystal's. She got it during a gig in the city. I love this car and it pisses me off that I can't buy it on console.

Elegy mentioned in Day 6 is @oranzuwu's OC and that Kusanagi in the last picture belongs to her. We know so much about each other's characters and figured out how they would meet and what kind of relationship they would have. Fun fact: Crystal knows Judy through Elegy.

I didn't know what to post on Day 7, so I started writing down songs I like with cool names, fitting for a title of the day. It didn't help, so my s/o came up with an idea to shoot pics of Crystal getting ready for bed - it's the 7th day after all, a time to rest. I started messing around and ended up snapping pictures of Crystal drinking beer with E3 2019 Fem V. It didn't fit any song, so I ditched the idea and went for back-alley Japantown tech-noir, also partially influenced by my s/o. Even though the original idea was scrapped, I'll probably post it in the next few days.

Originally I wanted to name Day 7 "Shadow Lady" or "Dark Paradise", but I settled on a song with lyrics that would fit the photos... and I felt the need to show my love for Ladytron - they're great. Although Dark Paradise doesn't fit the Day 7, it kinda makes sense as a theme song for the entire week.

I had a lot of fun and learned even more, especially regarding AMM. I never modded Cyberpunk before, as I mainly play the Xbox version. It didn't reach an acceptable level of performance on my rig and I switched to console. For the most part, I'm gonna stay there, at least until I run out of ways to creatively work around the constraints of its photo mode. Occasionally, I'll shoot something on PC, sure, but my GPU, even with FSR 2.1, doesn't produce satisfactory results - the internal res needed for playable framerates is just too low for it to look good. You don't wanna know what it takes for my PC to render these 1440p ultra settings images. Believe me, it's not used to do anything beyond running Linux, PS2 games and compiling code.

Anyway, it was cool to be a part of such event and I'm looking forward to participate in more of them, if the opportunity arises! For now, I'll continue posting my drafted screenshots and maybe even talk about something different than Cyberpunk to diversify a bit.

7. Where did the title come from?

OH I love this question!! All my titles come from Lord Huron’s Strange Trails album. I went back and forth on giving titles for the future fics, but I’m gonna bc i don’t care about spoilers and also i put too much work into my titles to let them go unheard lmao because who knows how long it’ll take me to finally write all 5 of these.

the series title, build me no shrines, sing me no songs, comes from Way Out There. Specifically this chunk of lyrics: “I belong bodily to the earth / I'm just wearing old bones from those that came first / There are many more flames when mine is gone / They will build me no shrines and sing me no songs” (but honestly the whole song is perfect for the series). The title and the original idea seed sort of came together, but it’s grown into it’s title as I’ve outlined I think. Harry’s doesn’t want to be a saviour. He’s just a kid fighting his hardest in a war that he didn’t start. Also the ‘wearing old bones’ bit is a fun reference to future arthurian shenanigans 👀

the title for the first fic/year three, a sign in the midnight sky, and the second, the heavens collide, both come from Until the Night Turns (“I had a visitor come from the great beyond / Telling me our time in the world is done / And to watch for a sign in the midnight sky” and “I had a vision tonight that the world was ending / And the sky was falling and time was bending / I watched the heavens collide right before my eyes). I won’t say much about the first because I know i said I don’t care about spoilers but that was a bit of a lie, that one’s a very big spoiler lmao but it’s basically just like beginnings and Harry’s world changing. the heavens collide though is Sirius and Regulus!!! they don’t really interact at all in the first fic and finally meet again at the start of the second fic so it’s all about their relationship. plus Harry starts getting visions, so that part is maybe a little on the nose…

into the endless night came from these lyrics from Meet Me in the Woods “I have seen what the darkness does / Say goodbye to who I was / I ain't never been away so long / Don't look back, them days are gone / Follow me into the endless night” which year 5 is a major turning point. It’s really for both Harry and Tom, how they’re both changed by the resurrection, and how there’s no way to undo what’s been done up to this point. Plus it’s a lot of Harry embracing the changes he’s been fighting the last two years.

the year 6 fic, darkness brings evil things, I used The Yawning Grave lyrics “Oh, you fool, there are rules I am coming for you / Darkness brings evil things, oh, the reckoning begins / I tried to warn you when you were a child / I told you not to get lost in the wild / I sent omens and all kinds of signs / I taught you melodies, poems, and rhymes”. I think in my outline this is one of the lowest points in the fic. A betrayal comes to light, the Order is losing, and Harry starts wondering if they’re all going to make it out of the war intact. Also lots more visions this year, so that’s the whole other chunk of lyrics.

the last fic I’ve got planned in the series is tear through the night, and the title comes from The World Ender (“The fair and the brave and the good must die / I seen the other side of living, I know heaven's a lie / I'll tear through the night, and I'll raise some hell / 'Cause I'm the World Ender, baby and I'm back from the dead”) which. just… yeah. I feel like this one explains itself honestly, and I’m not spoiling anything else lmao
