I find the concept of world famous ghosts kind of hilarious.

Like, you're just chilling and trying to be dead in peace but every other day, a bunch of idiots with cameras and random little noise makers show up and start bombarding you with the same fucking questions.

im not done with house of leaves, navidson has gone to rescue the holloway team while holloway has gone crazy and tom is hanging back telling bad jokes to the recorder, we are about to read the karen chapter but...

what would be the best way to adapt house of leaves to a visual medium:

1) a tv show about johnny truant having misadventures, dealing with zampano’s book and slowly going crazy. filmed in the style of the ring or number 23

2) a found footage movie that is just the navidson record, like paranomral activity or the blair witch project

3) a meta mockumentary youtube series about the found footage movie “the navidson record” narrated by zampano, with interviews shot by zampano, but where the editor in charge of putting the whole thing together was truant who couldnt help but add a “director’s commentary” track over the thing, like adaptation or the movie director’s cut

4) a screwball comedy about a film crew trying their damnest to adapt house of leaves but wacky shit reminiscent of the events of the book keep ruining the movie like in what we do in the shadows or the movie bewitched

WIP intro: Under The Rainbow

So, I have a ton of smaller stories going, but I have at least one big storyverse that I'm considering serializing.

Note: Things in this verse include

Paranomral romance/urban fantasy vibes

A mainly queer cast.

Found family

Various forms of mental health representation

Disbility and chronic pain rep from humans and non-humans alike.

Positive portrayals of sex work, BDSM, and mental health care (though positive does not mean perfect. Sometimes these things can be messy but will be handled with care and respect.)

Various relationship types, including polyamory, BDSM dynamics, queer-platonic relationships, FWB, and relationships that are developed between sex workers and their clients, as well as friendships and familial bonds.

There will also be some portrayals of unhealthy, toxic, and abusive relationships. They will either not remain that way, or not last long term.

Welcome, to the Electric Rainbow

The club, run by a pair of the Fair Folk, is a place you never can quite pin down, well if you're human, anyway. When you ask people about it, they never quite recall what you're talking about, even if you both went there together. After a day or two, you won't remember it either, and there's a vague sense that you did *something* that night, but you'll never remember what it is, unless you find your way back.

But if you're not human, oh that's a whole different story.

See, the Electric Rainbow is for you. It's a club, yeah, but it caters to anyone who doesn't quite fit into the human world. The bouncer is a shifter, the bartender a witch. There are dancers there to suit all types, and if you're there to make your own fun, there are spaces for that too.

That's just at night, though. See, the Rainbow is there come sunshine or moonrise and during the day it's a waystation for anyone who might feel a little lost in trying to make their way in the world.

The doors are open to anyone with curious blood, be it vampires who dart in right as the sun sets, selkies who've come on shore for a day, or even that half fae who's only just woken up to their bloodline and has no idea how to get to the Summerlands.

I’m about to go to sleep soon.

Overall, today was a good day.

Got my second covid booster shot. My arm feels sore, but other than that, I feel fine.

And I finally sent another message to my local-ish friend. They replied back, apologizing for not responding back to my last message. They still didn’t really talk about how their life is going, but I did talk to them about my niece. Hopefully we will be able to talk again soon.

This photo of one of the windows of the Cecil Hotel was taken by a teenager named Koston Alderete, who was staying at the Cecil about ten years ago. He had no idea the history of the hotel and the fact that dozens of people have climbed up into the window sills and jumped to their deaths.

The Ghost of Jesse James

The Talbott Tavern in Bardstown, Kentucky was built in the 1700s. Located in Court Square it has always provided food and shelter for travelers.

Past famous guests that stayed at this inn include: A young Abraham Lincoln and his family, Daniel Boone and the exiled French King Louis Phillipe.

Bullet holes in a faded painting and along one wall in the Talbott were put there when Jesse James supposedly shot his gun in the tavern.

A lot of paranormal activity has been reported at the Talbott. Furniture moves, shadows are seen and phantom music is heard playing.

One apparition seen at the inn is said to be Jesse James’ ghost. I share another location where his ghost is seen here.

A bookkeeper that works at the Talbott encountered his ghost one night as she went upstairs to place money in the safe. She and a cook were the only two people in the inn at this time.

As she walked up the stairs, she was startled when she saw a stranger standing on the landing. He was wearing a long white duster–coat.

She hesitated as he walked across the top landing. The cook joined her on the stairs for he had also seen the stranger. They both went upstairs and saw this man walk in a door to their right.

As they entered this room they saw him walk out the back door. They then saw him walk down a hall to a fire escape door, which was locked. He disappeared through this door.

They unlocked this door and saw him looking up at them from the fire escape. He laughed and vanished in front of them.

A month later this bookkeeper was watching a television show when they showed a picture of Jesse James. She grabbed her husband’s arm and told him that he was the ghost she had seen at the inn.

Since, two other employees at the tavern have seen the ghost of Jesse James walking down various hallways in this building.

Another ghost seen at the Talbott is a Lady in White. Two guests awoke to see her floating over their bed. She looked down at them and then went out the window.

They were so frightened they left the inn in the middle of the night.

Another witness, an employee at the tavern states she has seen the Lady in White walk through the Audubon Dinning Room on several occasions.

She described this ghost as thin, with long wavy brown hair and dressed in a 1800s style white dress.

Today, the Talbott Tavern is run as a Bed and Breakfast. This inn hosts one of Kentucky’s oldest Bourbon Bars.
