im so curious about claire noel and sirius b ackstory ebcause i feel like theres still so many unanswered questions i ahve in my mind..
like what were sirius’ biological parents like?? why doesnt he ever talk about them?? who were they and how did they raise him?? why does he respect dorothy, a woman who took him in for like a ocuple months (i think??) way more than his parents and always bring her up rather than them? were they like bad parents?? does he just have more respect for dorothy because she chose to adopt him rather than having to birth him herself??
ALSO there should be more fiona (claire’s mom) content like i wanan see her personality I WANNA SEE WHAT HER RELATIONSHIP WITH DOROTHY WAS LIKE i wanna see her and claire’s relationship like clair ewas 11 when her mom died and she talked about missing her mom they must’ve had such a sweet relationship I WANNA SEE CUTE LITTLE CLAIRE AND FIONA BEING HER MOM SO BAD ITD BE SO CUTE we know so little about fiona i really wanna find out more about her she seems so sweet and really similar to claire even when claire forgot all of her memories her personality stayed pretty much the same.. fiona mustve really had a big impact on her personality AND ALSO I WANNA SEE WHO CLAIRES DAD IS NOT AS BADLY AS FIONA CONTENT BUT
AND ALSO. PATRICIA MILLERS. I WANN A KNOW ABOUT HER SO BAD. LIKE WHY DID SHE FALL IN LOVE WITH NICHOLAS??? she must be really pretty to be honestbecause noel is SO SO PRETTY and he doesnt look anything like nicholas i wanna see wher ehe gets those genes from.. BUT EVEN OTHER THAN THAT i wanna see like what her personality was like and how she raised noel LIKE I WANNA SEE THE FAMILY DYNAMIC I WANNA SEE SWEET MOMENTS BETWEEN HER AND NOEL AND ALSO WHY DID NO ONE EVER TALK ABOUT HOW A FAMOUS SINGER MARRIED A MAYOR?? LIKE NO ONE EVER BRINGS IT UP.. AND HOW DID NO ONE RECOGNIZE NOEL AS PATRICIA’S KID IF THEY SUPPOSEDLY LOOK SIMILAR?? DIDNT ASHE SAY HIS MOM WAS A BIG FAN? HOW DID HE NOT RECOGNIZE HIS MOM’S FAVORITE SINGER’S KID LIKE.....
i think i jjst wanna see more sweet parent and child moments BUT ANYWAY IM SO CURIOUS I HOPE NOEL’S CONCLUSION ELABORATES MORE ON THIS STUFF BECAUSE SIRIUS’ CONCLUSION STILL LEFT ME SO CURIOUS

Hello. I've already read the Kingston Cycle, Half a Soul and I'm about to finish the Stariel books. Do you have more recommendations? Thank you in advance.
Oh absolutely!
A Matter of Magic, by Patricia C. Wrede (for cross-country Regency romps, rogues, magicians, spies, and Ladies of Quality)
A Marvellous Light, by Freya Marske (for murder and mystery and secret Edwardian wizardry, romance, grand old houses and creepy curses)
Spellbound, by Allie Therin (for forbidden love, found family, and frightening magic in 1920s New York)
Shades of Milk and Honey, by Mary Robinette Kowal (for frothy and impeccably evocative Regency magic)
Sorcerer to the Crown, by Zen Cho (for schemes both magical and mundane and the world of fairy crossing into the world of the tonne)
To Say Nothing of the Dog, by Connie Willis (for laugh-out-loud time travel shenanigans and questionable Victorian aesthetic choices)
Soulless, by Gail Carriger (for vampire assassins, werewolf aristocrats, interrupted tea time, and other terrible inconveniences which may beset a young lady)
A little darker:
The Magpie Lord, by KJ Charles (for semi-secret magical society, creepy family estate, steamy romance all in an Extremely Victorian Gothic setting)
Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell, by Susanna Clarke (clever and deeply atmospheric tour of a magical 19th century England, but definitely not romance)
Salt Magic, Skin Magic, by Lee Welch (for curses and magical bonds and frightening fairies)
Widdershins, by Jordan L Hawk (for Gilded Age mystery and romance featuring Lovecraftian horror and humor)
More fantasy:
Uprooted, by Naomi Novik (for fairytale magic and whimsy, adventure and romance and creepy trees)
Seducing the Sorcerer, by Lee Welch (for wizard fashion, romance and humor and whimsical magic)
Stardust, by Neil Gaiman (for wild romps in the fairyland next door, alternately humorous and haunting)
More historical:
The Gentle Art of Fortune Hunting by KJ Charles (for saucy Regency romance and determined social scheming)
Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons (for dry humor, wacky hijinx, and extended family shenanigans)
Hither Page or The Missing Page by Cat Sebastian (village and manor house mysteries respectively, featuring lots of queer romance and found family with a dash of jaded post-war espionage)
I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith (for yearning and laughs and first love and an eccentric family living in an increasingly run down castle)
A little farther from the brief, but might be worth checking out On Vibes:
The Left Handed Booksellers of London, by Garth Nix
The Chronicles of Chrestomanci, by Diana Wynne Jones
His Majesty's Dragon, by Naomi Novik (more Regency fantasy, but full on Age of Sail adventure rather than comedy of manners, romance, or secret magic)
Among Others, by Jo Walton
Arabella of Mars, by David D. Levine
A Natural History of Dragons, by Marie Brennan
It also sounds like a Georgette Heyer or Jeeves and Wooster binge would be really fun right now!

Dip into the Patricia D. Klingenstein Library’s Time Inc. records to experience the first days of Home Box Office, a new channel that launched to 365 subscribers in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, one stormy night in 1972.
“On their screens that evening, an earnest young man appeared. Welcoming the viewers to the debut of Home Box Office was Gerald 'Jerry' Levin, programming vice president for the new channel. He introduced the evening's two offerings: a hockey game between Vancouver and New York and a film starring Paul Newman and Henry Fonda. In retrospect, it now seems more than fitting that the film was titled Sometimes a Great Notion.” —The First Ten Years, a glossy booklet created for HBO staffers as they celebrated the 10th anniversary of the network in 1982
