i want to study phannie lesbians.

honestly, I don't think phannie twt specifically is the real problem, just stan twt culture in general and twitter as a whole.

(and compared to other twt phandoms phannie twt is relative chill from the little I've seen)

oh, absolutely! great point. stan twt is a nightmare. twitter in general breeds such a specific kind of toxic behaviour and i think a big difference on tumblr is the anonymity factor. most of us on here don’t have a face or a name attached to our blogs because it’s not about individuals. twitter is VERY MUCH about individuals and there’s heavy focus on stan twt about collecting notices from faves. it becomes a mark or status and creates a social hierarchy which in turn makes people jealous of each other and then beef arises.

i think the individual focus is true for instagram and tik tok (not on tik tok but from what i’ve heard) as well—they’re SO public and there’s constant focus on the individual. other social media sites are all about being perceived while tumblr is like “please leave us alone we’re just chilling.”
