I saw a comment on the post-trial shortonegaming video that went something like this: "everyone loves Gonta, but no one respects him," and honestly, I think that's a great way to sum it up. They all love him and care about him, but they don't really take him seriously.

And it's noticeable in smaller things, like when almost everyone brushes off his comments about tiny bugs (and in bonus interactions he talks about it A LOT). But in the 4th trial this is even more obvious. They don't see him as a person who could kill for everyone's sake. They only see him as a victim.

Gonta is a very observant person with strong moral principles and a desire to be helpful. But mostly he's seen as a kind but very naive child. And this is a different, but really heartbreaking kind of pain💔

(Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember people saying much when he calls himself stupid. He does this a lot, but people often don't go out of their way to convince him that it's not true. They scold Kokichi when he says this about Gonta, but they don't say much when Gonta says so himself. Of course, I could be wrong, maybe I need to pay more attention to it next time)

Anyway, I really enjoy reading your thoughts about Gonta! I liked him before, but you made me appreciate him on a whole different level❤

I haven’t seen shortonegaming’s post trial video yet, but yeah. That’s a really accurate way to put it. Gonta has always seemed so isolated from the others, never having one close friend/ally for longer than one chapter. He was always appreciated and loved, but not respected as a person so never fully integrated into the group. Its part of why I think going from having a small group of people working with him in the student council to being completely by himself in chapter 4 (with his ideas always dismissed in this chapter, even if it was to stop him from sacrificing himself) added to everything he was feeling at the time.

And it SUCKS. Because as you said, nobody says anything when he self deprecates, only when Kokichi really pushes it in chapter 4. Even when Miu is rude to him in previous chapters a couple of times, nothing. Because they take his self loathing at face value despite the fact that he IS smart. He’s very thoughtful, observant, and brave. One thing that stuck out to me in trial 4 was Himiko defending Gonta from Kokichi’s accusations, she said something along the lines of “Gonta couldn’t have done all of that! He’s not smart-“ before getting interrupted by Kokichi with something else. Not only do a lot of them casually brush him off, but they also agree with his own judgements of himself without questioning it.

The only person who ever tried to push back against Gonta being hard on himself, if I remember correctly, was Kaito. Sometimes, when Gonta would apologize for something a bit excessively, Kaito would say “a man shouldn’t apologize so easily!” (Which isn’t exactly a good way to correct that but. Thank you Kaito for trying). The only other time I remember was that moment between them in the virtual world right before Gonta goes to kill Miu, where Kaito directly counters him calling himself stupid. But I genuinely can’t remember any other character saying anything like this. (If anyone else remembers, please let me know!!)

But yeah. It’s just so so tragic. And it’s why I think post game Gonta would be such a lonely person.

And thank you for the kind words q^q it makes me more happy than you could know to hear that me posting about Gonta has got people to appreciate him more. He’s such a special character to me and it’s so rare to find fanworks going into these parts about him

The story of Pluto

Once there was a planet, its name was Pluto- was a planet, mind you. Pluto sat at the end of our Solar system, the Sun's radiant rays reached all the other planets, captivating them in it’s warm embrace and the planets, in turn, illuminated the vast darkness of the solar system, all 8 of them, twinkling diamonds. The Sun however always forgot Pluto- Pluto and its crack adorned surface, Pluto and its frostbitten winds, Pluto and its small, weak core. 

So Pluto waited for the brilliant sun, it waited to shine just like the other 8 diamonds. So it waited and waited and waited, Pluto waited for 248 years and 248 more until time felt like the eternal umbra around him. Nothing changed, time was there, darkness was there and Pluto was there. It realised that the Sun would never come and Pluto would never feel the shower of light from its rays. Pluto would be stuck, like it always was, right from the beginning. Afterall it was not Jupiter- grand in its size, all fiery winds and crimson sunsets disguised as cloudy whisps, Venus-tendrils stretched like the intricate branches of trees, burning brighter than the sun itself, forever glimmering or elegant Saturn with its rings and life would simply not exist on Pluto like it did Earth.  

The 8 diamonds were all the Solar system needed, and Pluto was a Quartz- an ashen one at that. Pluto was never actually a planet and the Solar system was never actually it’s home. You see Quartzes can be mistaken for diamonds, until you look hard enough and realise the dull lustre and the odd cuts. So Pluto understood. Asteroids were also considered celestials, Pluto would be an Asteroid-but it was too spherical to truly become one and it did not possess the unique and rocky geometry, but neither was Pluto a planet and it was not an asteroid.

Pluto was not a comet, comets were travelers and sparkled everywhere in its journey. 

Pluto was very, very far from a star. Physically and literally. 

Pluto was not a moon, if it were at least it would be embraced by another planet. 

So what was Pluto? Drowning in an useless timeline, stuck in the intermediate between belonging and forever lost. In these moments, Pluto would think of other galaxies or other universes. Universes in which it didn’t feel so lonely, wasn’t so cold all the time, where Pluto would be grand, beautiful and bathed in light. 

Once there was a planet, its name was Pluto and it only wanted a home.

The Discreet Gentleman's Connection by pluto (gayrights420) [Drarry, E, 80.4k] 🌼🔥 I had the absolute pleasure of beta-ing for this fic, so when I say it is amazing, it truly is just that. Fast burn on the smut via Floo sex, slow burn on the in-person falling in love. Satisfying in all the best possible ways.

2. A fic that made me laugh

AITA for being "obsessed" with my childhood nemesis? by @rainstormradish [Drarry, M, 4.3k] 🌼📲 Draco on a reddit forum is hilarious just on its own, but the banter and formatting really bring this fic to life. Amazingly creative, had me in stitches!

3. A comfort fic

The Eighth Tale by @letteredlettered [Drarry, E, 12.0k] 💔⏳ An oldie but a goodie. I constantly find myself coming back to this fic and having my mind blown every single time. Time travel timey-wimey angst.

4. A fic with art

Dating Draco - A Visual Game by @itsphantasmagoria [Drarry, M, Video Game] 🌼🎮 This is a fic in video game form!! Amazing art and lovely story where YOU get to make the choices for Drarry's happily ever after.

5. A favorite series

The Journal of Dreadful Things by @lilbeanz [Drarry, G, 112k, WIP] 🌼📖 Hilarious, witty, AND COMES WITH ART!! Lilbeanz draws and writes a wonderfully delightful series starting from Draco's First Year. His characterization had me in hysterics. Book 4 is starting soon!

Moonstruck by @prettyremus [Wolfstar, E, 3.8k] 🔥🐺 Found this gem while scrolling through the werewolf smut tag (don't judge me). I love the switch in dynamic with Sirius taming Remus's wolf through, ahem, rough sex.

7. An unreliable narrator fic

Sea of White by @dividawrites [Harrymort, E, 8.6k] 🔥🤍 Deliciously hot, creepy, and strangely sweet. Love their dynamic here, the unrestrained lust. Harrymort "die" and lose their memories, so, of course, then they bang.

8. A fic that made me cry

Far Apart, Far Away by @unmistakablyoatmeal [Hinny, minor Drarry, T, 1.6k] 💔💍 Infidelity angst has never been this good. I love the layers of emotion in this fic. Quick punchy sections that really pulled me in.

9. A Muggle(?) AU fic

Pleasant Hope by @ac1d6urn, @sinick [Snarry, E, 41.6k] 💔⛪️ Pastor Severus!! The angst, pining, and self-discovery in this fic is superb! I love the interwoven magic and detailed world-building of this little town.

The Last Trial of Peter Pettigrew by @sleepstxtic [Prongstail, M, 20.8k] 💔 🐀 Holy moly, this fic!!!! Is this my new favorite fic?? Possibly. The concept is brilliant, so creative and nuanced. The Peter character study using outsider perspectives is genius. Seamlessly balances canon and new scenes.

11. A pre-canon fic

Careless by @tax-onomic [Luther, E, 1.5k] 🔥🪞 Lucius/Arthur my beloved rare pair!! I am captain of the Luther ship, and Tax's fic hits all the right spots. The pining, the sniping, the prickly personalities with emotional vulnerability underneath! And all in the middle of a hot smut scene. Perfect.

12. A canon-compliant fic

Scottish by thepadfoots [Chedric, G, 749] 💔🌟 Lovely Cho character study focused around her Asian identity and the boy she loved.

13. A fic rated G (more like T though)

Lion-Hearted Girl by MinnieQuill (odainath) [Minmione, G, 4.5k] 💔🦁 I know the large age gap might scare some, but their relationship feels very organic in this fic. The setting is grim, but there is always hope in the darkness!

14. A fic rated T

You're So Vane by @patriceavril [Romelina, T, 6.8k] 🌼💄Romilda is so delightfully characterized, I was smiling through the entire fic. Angelina is the perfect foil (and love interest) to Romilda's attentions.

15. A rare pair fic (less than 2000 fics on AO3)

Snakeskin by @cntrl15 [Bellastoria, E, 3.7k] 🔥👠 Talk about a rare pair! Astoria/Bellatrix only has 2 tagged fics on AO3: this fic and the drabble I wrote based on it. But read this fic, and you'll see why I felt the need to write more in this universe.

16. A fest fic

Master of None by @nanneramma [Snormac, G, 5.5k] 🌼🧘 Severus is so wonderfully cranky, and Cormac is fine AF. The surprise pairing of 2023 that I never knew I needed and now I'm obsessed with!

17. An under-rated fic

Sun, Shadow, Shade by @naomijameston [Snuna, G, 700] 🌼☀️ Post-war fluff. Sunshine Luna is the perfect match for sullen Snape. A short and sweet fic for this underrated ship.

18. A canon-divergent fic

but somebody's gotta do it by nocturn [Pangulus, T, 920] 😄🧟‍♂️ This fic will make you say WTF but also huh, okay that totally works. The concept is WILD but Lyra executes it wonderfully. Pansy drags Regulus out of the inferi lake and they flirt a little while he gets de-corpsified lol.

19. A dark fic

In his embrace by @loneamaryllis [Snarrymort, het!Snarry, E, 48k] ⚡️👀 Dark and dirty but so so good. A Voldemort Wins AU where fem!Harry is taken as prisoner. Snape's mindset as he tries to save her (and is forced to rape her) is so twisted and mesmerizing. Mind the tags!

20. A thought-provoking fic

Icarus by @thistlecatfics [Millvansy, M, 20.0k] 💔🍾 War trauma, addiction, codependency! This fic is messy with emotions but has a strong, beating heart underneath. I am in love with Parvati as she deals with Pansy's addiction and Millicent's denial — three beautiful, imperfect girls.

21. A holiday fic

A Time, Dark and Divine by @moonflower-rose [Dronarry, E, 17.0k] 🔥⛱ HOLY FREAKING FUCK!! The sexual tension in this fic is off the freaking charts. Drarry seducing Ron while on vacation in Portugal. Sign me the fuck up!

WIP Wednesday

So I posted this post on monday and got a few people interested in reading more of it, so that means that I'll be writing a whole fic about it now.

The premise is that Steve's dad is a real piece of shit and had an affair when Steve was three, leading to him having a daughter. Her name is Julie and is recently placed in the foster system after the death of her mother. Steve is now set on this journey of bonding with the sister he never had and essentially bringing her in and raising her. With a side of Steddie.

But I wanted to introduce Julie a bit since she is an original character.

Her full name is Julie Rebecca Lawson and she was born on January 28, 1970, making her 16 when the fic takes place. She is a grade ahead of the rest of the party but is in a few of their more elective leaning classes. She's average in most of her classes but loves to write and illustrate her own stories.

She is a bit of a loner and doesn't have many friends. Her mom and her lived in the trailer park that the Mayfeild's and Munson's lived in in season 4, meaning that she was a witness to most of the events that happened as well.

She is stubborn, strong, sarcastic, caring, and most importantly, a teenager who is going through the loss of her mom. So there's a lot of angst to come for both her and Steve.

The story will be told from both of their perspectives as well as a few flashbacks to Julie's witnessing of season 4 events and just general parts of her life.

I'm working on an outline and figuring out what I want for this story but the first chapter should be posted either this Saturday or the next. It will be posted both here and over on my ao3, which I will provide the link to. Be prepared for a longer one (for me at least), I have a feeling I'll be working on this for a while in order to tell the story I want to.

You didn’t have any news on how the damn quest was going.

No Iris message. No letter. Absolutely no indication that your best friend was still alive. lt was a mix of emotions together, but especially fear.

Fear that maybe he wasn’t alive anymore. Maybe he had finally succumbed to one of those damned quests that your parents put you through, because somehow, they can’t do it on their owns.

But you had to cling to the small light of hope that was alive and that he was okay. After all, he promised you he’d come back.

“Of course i’ll come back, y/n/n. I always do.”

And maybe when you do came back, you thought, i’m finally be able to tell you how much i love you.

But all that hope was completely and totally crushed down the moment that Nico came to your apartment, along with Lester, Meg and Piper.

All of them had a dark and intense gaze, but especially Nico.

You obviously knew about the growing friendship that Jason had with the younger boy. Gods, Jason even talked about him like an older brother talks about his baby sibling.

And that’s when you knew. That’s when it hit you, that’s you’d never see Jason again.

“Y/n… can i come in?” Nico asked, his voice cracked. He instantly cleared his throat and stand up straight, swallowing a lump. “I mean- we. Can we come in?”

You just nodded, the tears already welling up in your eyes.

“Hm… Im really sorry to say this, Y/n, but… Jason didn’t make it. Caligula, he-“ Apollo - Jason’s half brother, cause nothing could be better - said, but you interrupted him with a raise of your hand.

“It’s okay. You didn’t have to come all the way here to talk to me about this. You have a quest to continue, i get it. You can go now.” You said, your voice trying to sound firm and certain.

“Y/n, are you-“ Piper said, reaching out a hand to you.

“Yes.” You said, taking a step back away from her. You and Piper never had the best relationship, and you just thought that she was the last person you’d want around in a moment like this - the girl who first killed Jason. “I’m fine. Really.”

You tried to sound reassuring, but Nico quickly caught in your facade. He cleared his throat again and looked back at the trio behind him. “It’s fine.” He said, and they finally backed off.

Meg was the only one who didn’t. She achtualmy took a step forward and pulled you in to a hug. She was a few inches shorter than you, so it was hard for her, but the hug was very appreciated. You quickly reciprocated, and she finally pulled away. She had puffy eyes and a pout on her lips.

“I’m sorry about him. I know you were close.” She said in a whisper, only to both of you hear, and you smiled. She was sweet. You nodded and whispered back a small ‘thank you’. And then, they finally left.

When you closed the door, you immediately broke into sobs. Your brother was quick to cradle you into his arms, and you just sobbed.

Not that far after, you felt his body also shaking. You didn’t think you ever saw Nico cry, but this was understandable, at least. He was his best friend. He was the best friend to both of you.

“W-why, Nico? It’s- it’s not fair! He’s- he was too young, he-“ You groaned as you sobbed into Nico’s old jacked, damping it completely. Bit you couldn’t find it in yourself to care, not when that happened.

He nodded, caressing your back.

He was gone. Jason was gone. Your Jason. Your best friend. The man you were in love with. The person that you grew to admire, looking up to how kind, generous and intelligent he was.

Your favorite person. Your soulmate.

In the end, all that’s left is a broken promise, a crossed heart and a shattered soul.

HUGE GIFT DUMP #1

So for the last two days I've been doodling art for AU's that I admire/ enjoy. I'm not finished with all my doodles but wanted to post what I have finished so far

I have no self restraint and was dying to show these off

I basically went through my animation meme playlist and found a song for each doodle. You'll see the name of the chosen song and the au I paired it with.

Some songs might not fit at first glance. But I assure you the amv I had in my head makes them work.

Candle Queen by GHOST. This one is kinda obvious as to why I chose it. If you've heard the song and have read the fics you'll understand immediately.

Space AI AU - @bones-of-a-rabbit

Loosing my mind by Mystery skulls. I like the narrative of good people doing bad things for a good purpose. It fuels me so much. I'd think that after having their heart completely crushed by sun and moon, Y/N would be more unstable that usual. Promoting me to choose this song. I just enjoy them being kinda passive aggressive towards sun and moon because they're hurting.

Also have I mentioned I love their design? BECAUSE I REALLY DO LOVE IT!!

Nightmare AU - @opudontdonut

Happy pills by Weathers. This one is one of the few I had an idea for to make the song choice work.

I just wanna quickly add a TW for drug abuse. If this upsets you skip past the next chapter.

(Inspired by the prompt writing "I'm tired of being tired" that @/paper-lilypie made)

Y/N is so overly exhausted from fighting sleep due to nightmares that they completely break down in the kitchen. In their sleep deprived state they get the brilliant idea to take strong sleeping meds to hopefully skip the REM stage of sleep. They end up mixing the pills up in their state and taking one too many happy pills. It ends with them going on a nasty hallucination trip and passing out.

Cowboy AU - @castercassette

Everything black by Unlike Pluto. Another one that isn't too hard to see if you've heard the song. While it wouldn't fit the wildwest theme. It definitely fits the fact the sherif can't seem to locate the missing children or prevent more from vanishing.

Gremlin AU is mine. I just wanted to draw my own boys to one song. There's no real reason why. Just that I wanted fluff after drawing so much angst/ drama.

Do you have any angst headcanons for Rudy after the fire

I have a couple

--

The ranchhouse has to be kept freezing or he wakes up to nightmares about smoke and flames

Personally, I don't think he was super scarred, but a fair amount of them cover his legs

However, I can't really see him as insecure about them, but Alejandro doesn't like them, they're a reminder that he almost failed

When they separated in Ghost team, all Alejandro could think was "please, don't let it happen again"

Rodolfo still tends to run ahead of Alejandro and they fight a lot over it

Rodolfo gets frustrated because Alejandro is very reckless as well and he doesn't like the double standard

Alejandro wants Rodolfo to not almost die again

Rodolfo refused to take a lot of pain meds after it because he didn't want to get dependent and that caused a fair amount of arguing

Rodolfo is easily winded now but he refuses to acknowledge it. This is less angsty, but poor Alejandro has to pick him up to keep him from overdoing it and Rodolfo very much does not like that

They've also had conversations about Rodolfo just accepting his death and not accepting Alejandro was coming to get him

Copper cogs rusted through by paper-lilypie: post-fire au? Reader who has siblings? Reader is fixed DCA but then some Afton shit happens? DCA and reader who both probably have jaw dropping backstory??? Nom. I'm eating all of this

It was, in reality, not fine by bones-of-a-rabbit: lm A SUCKER for oblivious y/n's. And dca who repeatedly gets friendzoned. I also love their writing style. Mwah mwah I love that au

Visions (or lack thereof) by Deeplyjuniper: while this is not an x reader, I absolutely adore this au! Gregory coming back to check on Freddy but Freddy is infected instead of Moon, Sun/moon being the parental figure to Gregory instead of Freddy, Gregory slowly trusting Moon, Sun and Moon trying to understand why the fuck they can't remember anything, MUSIIIIC MAAAANN!!!

Red light Blue light by nyxedbones: usually human-looking DCA isn't my thing, but I love DBH with all my heart, and I'm in love with how author maneged mixing both timelines with no plotholes.

Sleuth Jesters by Naffeclipse: I love detectives, I love DCA, and a mix of both them is a perfection. I also hate mafia boss eclipse, may he rest in piss.

Cryptid Sightings by Naffeclipse: I love big scary monsters who are actually really soft. And I love the reader who's like "I'm gonna protect you" but the one they're protecting is literally a demon. Love the angst, author really ripped our hearts off and then crush it into pieces.

So(u)l by strawbubbysugar: a cute Soulmates au where Engineer reader is soulmates with Sun and Moon! What could possibly go wrong? :D (Chapter 47 has me crying)

Celestial Sundown by pillowspace: an au where reader just enjoys their normal human life then boom they see an almost dead god and after some chaos they befriend him, yay!

One Lost Star by bluemoon1331: God/goddes au where a human who just goes buddy-buddy with gods as if they're not some heavenly beings. They're soo huge that we can just sit on their hands. Also love the chaotic trio of Balloon Boy, JJ and Gregory.

One Who Holds A Star by justaduckarts: God/goddes au where reader is "blessed" with a star (a certain god slipped on a banana and star fell on child reader). Sun adopted them but is awful at parenting, he also has daddy issues. Eclipse did pretty bad stuff but he is still the best let me marry him please. I'm adopting Pluto as my mother and no one can stop me. Someone please invent therapy they all desperately need it.

A literal season 2 MOVIE. That's right i fucking COMPILED SEASON 2 INTO A FUCKING MOVIE it's a TWO AND A HALF HOUR LONG FUCKING MOVIE. I am in no way an editing professional, but the filler is cut, the gratuitously vile scenes are either done differently or also cut, and Alois and Hannah are portrayed in a kinder light, especially with Alois's backstory being handled a lot more carefully. No original footage is added - it is merely camera tricks and framing.
