Understanding Epic Games' Parental Control Epic Games requests parental permission as part of their parental control measures. This ensures minors have supervision while accessing age-restricted content or making purchases within games. These safeguards aim to promote responsible gaming and protect young users from potentially harmful experiences online.

Parents are concerned about their childrens safety and well being. So...these people think chanting this was a smart idea??
Sane lgbt people with common sense: "We are just looking for acceptance. We believe children should be protected."
Lgbt whose common sense fell out: "WE ARE COMING FOR YOUR KIDS!"
Tumblr media
Stupid people...seriously.

The Darker Side - v1
Ima start this off with a red light kind of heads up…if you are only here for the good type kind-of stuff, this one might not be for you. This is me, wearing my old ugly on my new sleeve, in the hopes that it might help/change/save a life - any life - young or old - bad or good.
Unfortunately, mental illness doesn’t wait on us to grow up first, before deciding it’s going to start kicking our ass, that is. It kinda just jumpstarts whenever the fudge it wants too. It can literally even be caused to a baby still in the womb, depending on outlying situations/stressors. Anyways, remember how kids are taking guns to school these days? Well, we also got little BABES out here killing themselves, attempting to harm themselves, or going down deeper, darker roads that have a strong possibility of risky near death endings. Let me tell you a little bit about mine.
The self-harm started pretty early on - for me, that is. People call it cutting. And what is sad, is that the cutting type of self-harm is one of the most common things young girls do. Not all do, but don’t be one of those parents that think the whole “my kid is happy and wouldn’t/doesn’t do that” type of parent. Most will more than likely try it at least once, just like smoking and drinking. To be honest, I spent most of my jr.high and high-school days (meaning sometimes during the school day and every weekend fo-sho) drinking alcohol and smoking weed - aka straight partying when I should have been growing up. The drug usage, the heavy - physically addicting - opiate kind of drug usage - started when I was 16. All the while I had some seriously strong codependency issues. This is where it gets unfair for some. Sometimes, our mental health takes a turn for the worse, at an early age, with an under-developed brain, under the lead of other kids that also have under-developed brains, and bad choices get made. And then doors, with dark(er) roads inside, end up getting opened-and-taken by kids who have no idea what they are truly getting themselves into.
That’s how my story, at least the darker part of my story, started. See, I had no backbone, a super-kind-and-loving heart, and wanted nothing but the worlds greatest love story. The tough-guy look was my type of way and breaking-the-bad rules with my friends made it easier to breakaway from the shy little introverted type of girl I was. That means, I made the choice to make friends within circles that literally broke the rules. We started growing up a little and you guessed it…we all got cars and the risk of the rules we started breaking, FOR SURE, started getting riskier. Cars and bad decisions aren’t technically meant for 16 year-old kids [yet alone ANYONE] who, again, have under-developed brains. You start drinking&driving, smoking&driving, driving2buy harder-core drugs, like prescription pain pills. Other kids, and adults, start/or_are_already doing the exact same thing. Accidents happen, by both sides, and people die. And typically, it is the ones that are sober at the time of impact, that end up taking the LIFE_ALTERING - OR LIFE_ENDING type of hit.
I could write about my bad high school choices that turned into nearly 10 years of bad life changing decisions but I’ll save that for the book that I may decide to write one day. This is my blog, where I am only getting started, and I feel that it is only right to say that even in my darkest moments, I still think that we gotta fight to find the light. These are facts - Kids brains are not fully developed and they will make poor choices that could 110% end or change a life. They are probably going to drink and they will probably get into a car with someone that has had at least a little bit to drink. They could even be the one drinking and driving. Hell, I cannot tell you how many times I made that dumb choice, never thinking about what risk I was actually taking.
That is the point, though. KIDS DO NOT THINK ABOUT THE RISK THEY ARE TAKING. THEY DO NOT HAVE BRAINS DEVELOPED ENOUGH TO ACTUALLY THINK LIKE THAT. Break it down with me…even further -
As adults, as Living and Breathing Members of Society, we are failing. We are failing at home. We are failing on the streets. We are failing in schools. Take some ownership, with me. We have to stop with all the hate. And sometimes that means we have to stop blaming our kids for the problems we created in them. There are bad things out in this world. And unfortunately, that is just part of the cycle-of-repeating-history. It won’t ever fully go away. There will always be bad and as technology expands, the bad will probs just get even more powerful - think Big Hero 6 and MicroBOTS now. I am not even kidding, ya’ll. People are seriously out here having twitter-wars and cyber-security is the new love game.
Back up…right quick - I don’t want to get too far off here. The point is, evil is where we allow it to be. And if we allow it to be within ourselves, and we allow ourselves within our home, that means we allow it within our kids - because, honestly, we probably end up taking our grown-ass shit out on them, aka our little less-than-brave kids. We don’t have to be in Kansas, with Dorthy & Tornados, to understand that from there it goes into the schools, and from there, hate starts spreading like wild_fire - unable to be contained - and from there it starts becoming a part of history that the living and breathing actually keep repeating…with bigger freaking ammo every single damn year.
The younger we can stop the spread of evil, the better. But sometimes, life doesn’t play out that way. When it doesn’t, you have to find a way to twist the cards you are holding. You have to find what little good you can find left within yourself, within the way you view your inner-being, and instill those good things within yourself, your home, and your family. It starts with making a louder statement at home with praise and kindness. No matter how much you are killing it as a parent at home, or how much you feel like you are lacking as a parent, BE MORE LOUD when you praise the kind-hearts and solid-kind-acts than you are being when you praise the grades and sports.
Last statement for this post, just to sum it up - If you aren’t kind to yourself, don’t expect others to be kind around you. And don’t let your babes be the aftermath of not wanting to look yourself in the mirror for longer than you have too. Because eventually, you’ll be watching it on the news, and it might just be your own that is impacted.

I don't really have any desire to talk about my gender and sexuality on the internet. I only want to write. I just came to state: I will do what I must to protect the people I love. Including hold up the rainbow flag that lives in my plant. In America, you should have that right to pursue that happiness. My God told me to love everyone. Happy pride. Stay safe, babies.💘 #Pride #Ally #June #pridemonth #lgbt #Love #ChristiansofInstagram #ThisIsAmerica #ProtectiveFriend #ThatsWY #Laradise #MimisConsignment #ProtectKids #lgbtq🌈 (at Laramie, Wyoming) https://www.instagram.com/p/CeRD148Lmge/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

In 2023, dangerous new methods for targeting minors online became trends amongst cyber criminals. As a faith community, we take extra precautions to protect the young people in our care, and we want to help equip adults caring for kids to do the same. In this week's Family Focus, our digital ministry team is addressing the rise in crimes against minors on the internet and how families can stay safe.
Looking for more specific or practical tips? Send us a DM any time to connect with the digital ministry team!

The first days of September are the worst for Japanese students. Many of them don’t want to come back to school and become hikikomori but in the worst scenario many will decide to end their own life. The more you know. #Repost @isuvoa with @get_repost ・・・ The cerebral cortex is the largest part of the human brain and is responsible for rational thinking, making decisions, determining whether a situation is safe or dangerous, etc. and is probably the most active part of the brain in "normal" people. The amygdala, the smallest part of the brain, however, is the ruler of an abuse survivor's brain. Our critical developmental years were spent in survival mode due to our abuse: we were always on high alert, looking for ways to avert impending danger and how to minimize the effects in the danger zone most of us called home. We were NEVER safe, and were the most vulerable when we were asleep. Our bodies were constantly bathed in adrenaline and cortisol, chemicals that are only supposed to be released under times of flight or flight, and our bodies may not know how to funtion without them. Although we may physically BE safe, we may not FEEL safe. Seemingly harmless things, smells, tones of voice, spoken words and phrases, and situations, can sound the alert and the amygdala hijacks the cerebral cortex (the amygdala is moving at the speed of light while the cerebral cortex is as slow as molasses in January). This may result in panic attacks, dissociation, shutting down, fleeing, hiding, or any number of "undesirable" behaviors (for us and/or others). Everyone understands and sympathizes with veterans when this happens because we know it's probably a result of PTSD because of what they've seen and experienced. Abuse survivors and victims also have forms of PTSD, Complex PTSD (exposed to trauma over an extended period of time) and Developmental PTSD (extended exposure to trauma during the developmental years), because of our abuse. Our brains are often indistinguishable from combat veterans due to our experiences and should be given at least the same understanding and sympathy. #sexualabuse #awareness #education #childabuseprevention #protectkids #childsexualabuse #childsexualabusesurvivor #protectchildren https://www.instagram.com/p/BneQYKuHvIv/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=btwoeb0colkq
