The weird thing that made me not really get hyped during 15.18 was that imo Castiel has been canon queer since fairly early in his story. Same with the other angels, demons, and Chuck. The argument for him was which "letter," not if he was. So to me they've been having him canon queer without reciprocation for years. I think there will be a huge hug and "love ya" with it still same as before, thus open to interpretation. I'm not betting there will be a moment or open discussion to make explicit

While I see Castiel as NB, I wouldn't call him canon NB because there are also people who do not interpret him that way, including Misha Collins. For me, canon is textual.

This is kinda revolutionary? Just a few years ago destiel was queerbaiting fans to superhell but now? NOW? A show saw the fans HC a character as queer with valid evidence and instead went "you know what? You're right. We didn't originally plan this for them but we see you". Then four episodes into the season, canonized his queerness. Not the last second, Not the last Episode. the BEGINNING of the season, with time to expand AND we know we're getting another season after this. Just look how far we've come.
