Another DRDTDev Danganronpa Fanganronpa - Lunar Calendar Zodiac Cast Motif
Tumblr media
This cast follows a Sheng Xiao (The lunar calendar zodiac or umm, the 'Chinese zodiac') motif, right ?
I don't have many feelings regarding these characters because we only have designs and some abstract ARG text connections however just by engaging with these designs where they're at it feels clear to me that there is a throughline of animal motifs all of which align with the 12 animals assigned to each year in the lunar calendar cycle.
Only really pointing this out because I'm having trouble identifying this connection for two characters in particular - If anyone could help me in tying this specific character character to an animal it would be greatly appreciated since I think that this would both lead us to identifying the basis for the mascot as well as potentially discussing certain attributes of the characters characterization in the future whenever they do yield more significance.
For the purpose of this post being read with more universal ease, the characters will be labeled by numbers reading from left to right.
1 - Ox
4 - Rabbit
5 - Snake
6 - Rooster
7 - Dog
8 - Sheep
9 - Tiger
10 - Dragon
11 - Pig
The only three remaining are the monkey, the rat & the horse - the only currently unidentified characters are the mascot, #2 & #3 - if anyone could point me towards any ideas that might help making this connection easier I would greatly appreciate it though it may just not be possible until we see the mascot.
Thank you. 🛐

How am i going to organize my Miraculous' remakes: Part 2/2 - Reworking on the Miraculouses' powers
When I was looking for reworks of Miraculous powers for inspiration, I stumbled upon this post. Literally spent the whole night processing the amount of information the text contained
So when I finally understood everything and organized my thoughts, I started writing, taking all the references in the post into account, but adapting everything to my personal tastes and current powers after all of them were finally revealed (OP's post is from 2019) since I don't want to leave a drastic change, because analyzing well, the canon powers match perfectly with each holder.
According to OP, following the Yin Yang, Wu Xing and Sheng Xiao symbolisms more accurately, the division of powers should look like this:
Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses - Five powers
Fox, Bee, Turtle, Peacock and Butterfly Miraculouses - Two powers
Mouse, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig Miraculouses - Only one power
Tumblr media
"Why?" You may ask. And here is the answer. The Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses are the most powerful Miraculouses of the most powerful Miracle Box; They represent the Yin and Yang, concepts of Taoism that expose the duality of everything that exists in the universe and describe the two opposing and complementary fundamental forces. It really made sense to me that they should've had more than one power.
Thing is, they already have. Ladybug explicitly has 2 powers (3 if you consider capturing akumas and amoks as a particular power) which are Lucky Charm and the Miraculous Ladybug's cure. The issue with Chat Noir and Cataclysm is something I will address further down.
Back to the explanation, now I need to talk about the Wu Xing so that things make sense later.
Tumblr media
The 5 phases theory, which is a more correct translation, states that wood (木), fire (火), earth (土), metal (金) and water (水) are the basic elements that form the material world.
There would be an interaction and reciprocal control between them that would determine their state of constant movement and change. They also represent the passage of time, seasons, cardinal directions, organs of the human body, cosmic periods and are even linked with properties of medicine.
There are four cycles: the generating one, the weakening, insulting and controlling. This concept would be something cool to play with, with all the possibilities of combinations, but I admit that it would be something more complex than it already is.
Tumblr media
Apparently, Thomas took inspiration not from the colors of each element, but from what they represent. Still following OP's logic, each power and animal chosen would be derived from what the element affects and express. Therefore, the pattern would be:
Wood -> Mind -> Fox (Illusion)
Fire -> Energy -> Bee (Subjection)
Earth -> Body -> Turtle (Protection)
Metal -> Soul -> Peacock (Emotion)
Water -> Heart -> Butterfly (Transmission)
And each element would have its Yin and Yang ability, as it encompasses the Wu Xing. Every Yin ability would be more defensive/supportive/passive/collective, while every Yang ability would be more offensive/agressive/active/individual, so i came to this conclusion:
Fox
• Wood/Mind (Yin): Defense - Mirage
• Wood/Mind (Yang): Offense - ?
Bee
• Fire/Energy (Yin): Defense - ?
• Fire/Energy (Yang): Offense - Venom
Turtle
• Earth/Body (Yin): Defense - Shell-ter
• Earth/Body (Yang): Offense - ?
Peacock
• Metal/Soul (Yin): Defense - Amokization
• Metal/Soul (Yang): Offense - ?
Butterfly
• Water/Heart (Yin): Defense - Akumatization
• Water/Heart (Yang): Offense - ?
Now that I've determined the mind, energy, body, mind and heart thing, we can go back to the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses.
As I said, the Yin Yang encompasses the Wu Xing, so Ladybug and Chat Noir's powers most likely would work that way:
Ladybug (Yang)
• Positive Mind: Inspiration - ?
• Positive Energy: Creation - Lucky Charm
• Positive Body: Strength - ?
• Positive Soul: Life - ?
• Positive Heart: Healing - Miraculous Ladybug cure
Cat (Yin)
• Negative Mind: Insanity/Madness - ?
• Negative Energy: Destruction - Cataclysm
• Negative Body: Weakness - ?
• Negative Soul: Death - ?
• Negative Heart: Toxicity - ?
But do you guys remember the thing I said about Chat Noir and his only power being Cataclysm in canon, unlike Ladybug? So, reading some Thomas Astruc's replies on Twitter, I discovered something quite interesting.
He confirmed that the Cat Miraculous' power is not to destroy anything per say. It's actually making something bad, in general, happen to what he touches; this is why Sentimonsters totally lose control and go berserk when hit by a Cataclysm. "The bad thing" that happens is the connection between them and their owners being interrupted.
To make something disappear from existence is annihilation, which is different from destruction, the official Cat Miraculous concept. The very name "Cataclysm" means disaster or catastrophe, which is why there is an association with bad luck or jinx. So basically I'll just be putting each possible effect under 5 distinct names according to the related element. Easy.
Tumblr media
Finally, moving on to the Sheng Xiao, the Chinese Zodiac. There are 12 animals in total, which I already mentioned above. Getting to this point, I would also like to mention that I even researched what animals represent the Yin Yang and Wu Xing, just to check the consistency of Thomas. At the end, I wanted to say that I totally understand why he put the animals we currently have in the box.
The animals that represent the Yin and Yang are, respectively, Tiger and Dragon. Two animals that we already got in the zodiac. Gets worse with Wu Xing: Wood and Earth are represented by two more dragons, a Azure one (Qing Long) and a Golden one (Huang Long), while Fire, Metal and Water are the Vermilion Bird (Zhu Que), White Tiger (Bai Hu) and Black Tortoise (Xuan Wu), the last two being just varieties of animals that we already got in the box.
Back to the original matter again, shall we? All the signs within the zodiac are only equivalent and defined by a single element out of all the five and just one side of the Yin Yang, and that's what I'm going to use as a base to change the powers or just improve them. The list goes:
Mouse
• Water/Heart (Yang): Multitude
Ox
• Earth/Body (Yin): Resistance
Tiger
• Wood/Mind (Yang): Clout
Rabbit
• Wood/Mind (Yin): Burrow
Dragon
• Earth/Body (Yang): Elemental Storm Dragons or Wind, Lightning and Water Dragon
Snake
• Fire/Energy (Yin): Second Chance, honestly this is one that I might even have to change the name, maybe to something like Hypnosis – quite cliché I know
Horse
• Fire/Energy (Yang): Voyage
Goat
• Earth/Body (Yin): Genesis
Monkey
• Metal/Soul (Yang): Uproar
Rooster
• Metal/Soul (Yin): Sublimation
Dog
• Earth/Body (Yang): Fetch
Pig
• Water/Heart (Yin): Gift
I must say that I honestly don't intend to completely adapt, specifically the Sheng Xiao's animals powers, to the Yin Yang and Wu Xing molds, as it would completely change the powers, their symbolism, and their matchings with each canon holder, something I don't want because it would cause a mess in my head and I particularly appreciate the original content and stuff on the show. But I promise that I'll try my hardest to make at least some of them still contain precision.
Just like the other part of the posts about the remakes (the one that talks about how I am going to redesign the heroes' outfits), that end up in this one, I'll leave it to reveal the Miraculouses powers' changes in each individual post that addresses a particular hero.
Since this was a loooong text, I hope you enjoyed reading this far. Thanks for the attention!!!
And once again, credits to @loosescrewslefty

Nine-tailed Fox Spirit (Yu Suqiu) and Jade Rabbit Spirit (Xiao Fangfang) heard that absorbing the essence of Tang Sanzang (Guan Haishan) can instantly become immortals, so they pretended to be ordinary people and approached Tang Sanzang, but Sun Wukong (Ruan Zhaohui) saw it through. Tang Sanzang mistakenly believed in the provocation of the fox spirit and chanted the mantra, that drove Sun Wukong away. Nine-tailed Fox is willing to repay the life-saving grace with her body, but Tang Sanzang refuses.
Seeing that the situation is not good, Sha Wujing ( Xīguā Páo) hurried to Flower Fruit Mountain to find his brother. Sun Wukong turned into Tang Sanzang to deceive the fox spirit, but Tang Sanzang was still kidnapped and hid in the ancient well of the Fox Fairy Cave. The master's whereabouts could not be found everywhere, Sun Wukong and Sha Wujing accidentally overheard the monster's conversation, and they disguised themselves as a father and daughter and sneaked into the Fox Fairy Cave. In order to deal with Monkey King, the Green Snake Spirit (Chen Baozhu) went to the Frog King Cave to borrow the Fire God Orb from the Frog King (Yuan Xiaotian). No matter how powerful Sun Wukong is, there is nothing he can do and Zhu Bajie and Sand Monk missed and were captured again. Sun Wukong had no choice but to go to the heavenly court to ask Li Tianwang (Ma Shiju) and the Four Heavenly Kings to help him get rid of the demons. Finally, the three demons were enlightened by Master Gaunyin, and they went back to Purple Bamboo Forest to practice together. Tang Sanzang's master and apprentice continued to set off for the Western Regions to learn Buddhist scriptures.

Feng Shui 2022 Singapore
There are auspicious Chinese name that make up the "Sheng Xiao," or Chinese Zodiac, system. The years are named using each of the animals (the year of the Rat etc.). After Chinese New Year, it is stated that the Chinese Zodiac sign that governs a person's birth year has a significant impact on their destiny and luck. You may always rely on good personal financial habits as your safety net to get you through the year if your Zodiac forecast turns out to be unfortunate (or "suay") for this year though Chinese baby name. However, some of us seek assistance from feng shui master Singapore 2022, while others turn to drink and smokes (which exacerbate "sibei" stress).
The tough and competitive environment of the Year of the Water Tiger may be compared to a training area in a thick jungle where troops are trying to advance and conquer many challenges. Strong Water and Wood components dominate this year, which is controlled by the Five Yellow Authority Star and portends a challenging year that calls for fortitude and perseverance to succeed. Nevertheless, despite potential barriers, there will be development in all subjects. Keep an optimistic attitude and use your creativity to overcome obstacles. You can make it through the year of the Tiger if you put in a lot of effort.
·         Those who were born in the years of the Tiger, Dog, Dragon, or Rat will not have the best of luck this year and frequently feel trapped. You can get sick or hurt as a result of your erratic emotions and restlessness, which will lower your morale. In the face of challenges, be prepared and banish any negative ideas. Improve yourself and adjust as necessary to get through the year.
·         In 2022, those who were born in the years of the Snake, Horse, Ox, or Monkey will experience mostly steady fortune. If you take on obstacles head-on, you can get greater outcomes. Many tasks could first seem unattainable, but after you take the first step, you'll see that they are actually attainable. This year, be mindful of your health and watch out for con artists. Develop healthy habits, maintain your self-assurance, and concentrate on the things that bring you joy.
·         This fengshui 2022 is very lucky and prosperous for those who were born in the years of the Rooster, Pig, Rabbit, and Goat. Past training may be used to your advantage together with generous benefactor luck to help you reach your full potential. Having stated that, you must avoid conceit since failure can result from arrogance and smugness. To keep focused on your goals, maintain humility and often reflect on your actions. The secret to success this year is perseverance. Be proactive in learning from individuals with expertise, such as your professors, supervisors, or elders, to develop this year. Some people may be speedier than others in life's races. Those who are temporarily in charge should support one another and offer assistance as needed. Those who are somewhat behind must persist. Continue to put in the effort, and you will succeed in conquering any potential barriers.

Find Your Chinese Zodiac Sign
Source: TravelChinaGuide
What is it?
The Chinese zodiac, known as Sheng Xiao or Shu Xiang, features 12 animal signs in this order: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig.
Originated from ancient zoolatry and boasting a history of more than 2,000 years, it plays an essential role in Chinese culture. The 12 Chinese zodiac animals in a cycle are not only used to represent years in China, but also believed to influence people’s personalities, career, compatibility, marriage, and fortune.
There is an animal representing each year, but the “year” is defined by the Chinese lunar calendar, NOT the Gregorian year you are familiar with from Jan. 1st to Dec. 31st. The dates of Chinese Lunar New Year vary every year, but will fall on a day in January or February. If you were born on a day during March to December, it won’t be difficult to figure out your zodiac animal sign, but for people with birthdays in January or February, there are bigger chances of mistaking their signs.
Tumblr media
Find your sign:
Look for your birth date on this chart. For more specifics, click here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
An alternative method:
Divide your year of birth by 12 and read about the remainder. If the number of the year can be divided with no remainder, take the remainder as zero. Each remainder corresponds to an animal sign.
0: Monkey 1: Rooster 2: Dog 3: Pig
4: Rat 5: Ox 6: Tiger 7: Rabbit
8: Dragon 9: Snake 10: Horse 11: Sheep
EXAMPLES:
Take someone born in 1968. 1968/12=164 (no remainder) No remainder equals to 0, which indicates Monkey sign.
Take someone born in 1996. 1996/12=166.333333 Take 0.333333 (remainder) and multiply by 12. 0.333333 x 12 = 3.9~ (round up to 4)  4 indicates the Rat.
Once you find your sign, learn more about it!
Rat
Ox
Tiger
Rabbit
Dragon
Snake
Horse
Sheep

Douluo Continent - Episode 2
Tumblr media
I have been looking forward this moment all day long. I'm so into this drama so far actually. I know it has only been one episode, but you must bear in mind that I am subbing on Viki for this drama, so I see bits and part of it. And just... the opening makes me so happy. I can't help it. If I like it enough, I think I will read the novel about it. We'll see. Anyways, it's time to start!
Tang San came back to take his nail because after working so long to finish it, he can't really bear to leave it behind. Also he's worried about leaving his dad alone. He fears he will be lonely. He knows he drinks because he's missing his mom. The dad says tell him he won't drink anymore. Tang San tells his dad he won't go, but his dad tells him to keep his mind set once he decided. So he promises to become the strongest Spirit Master. And if ever his dad misses him, he just needs to tell the chief of the village and he will come back. And just like that he leaves.
However, things aren't going easy. Once he arrives, someone tries to prevent him from enrolling in the school because he doesn't have a letter of recommendation. So he takes a token given by the master he met in previous episode, it's coming from the Spirit Hall and should allow him to enroll freely at Nuoding Academy. But that student is quite nosy and won't let things go. That person is really disrespectful towards the village's chef, which makes Tang San angry, even though the elder is trying to calm in down. That other guy is doing it on purpose. And then some other guy comes in. Young Master Xiao. We will loathe this guy together, trust me. Well so far he looks nice, helping Tang San. Tang San sends back the village's head. Then they ask him about his Spirit. He tries avoinding it, but then has no other choice then to say it's the Blue Silver Grass. Then they ask him about it Spirit Power and he says he's full capacity, which shocks them. Hearing so, the man at the door follows Tang San.
That man is quite handsome. I had to mention it. Sorry. He asks Tang San to show him again his Spirit and then he asks him to show the spirit on his left hand. Tang San pretends he doesn't understand, but the guy states his research and says it's impossible that the Blue Silver Grass would be enough for him to be born with full Spirit power. Tang San keeps denying it though. The man tells him to call him Great Master and takes him to enroll in the school. And also tells him that he's the only one able to help him with the Blue Silver Grass. And he praises him for being smart.
Omg. That moment. So to enter Xiao Chenyu's community (that would be the guy that helped him) you have to kill rabbits. I had to pause. Xiao Zhan's face being in shock was too adorable. And just... It's a completely different story, but since rabbits were like the symbol between Lan Zhan and Wei Ying in the Untamed, I can't help but think about it. That's a nice throwback. Anyways, so to obtain Spirit Ring, you have to kill Spirit animals. Omg. This is so cruel... I wouldn't want a spirit ring in that case. These rabbits are the usual kind, it's just a practice to get used to kill or something like. Yikes.
Our main girl comes in. She's stopped by that annoying guy. So it's a set between the two of them to make Xiao Chenyu look good. She doesn't give a damn about them and ignores them, making her way in the school. Right then someone comes to tell that the rabbits were released by someone. That person is obviously Tang San. He says killing should be only when it comes to survival. And that he won't kill Spiritual beasts if they don't harm people. That Xiao guy wants Tang San to catch the rabbits but he won't. He's saved by the other guy so he goes to enroll.
Tang San meets the people from his dorm. They heard rumour that he has Twin Spirits and that he's a genius, but Tang San says that's not true. Wang Sheng then thinks he's lying because he has a token from the Spirit Hall. Tang San shows him his Spirit, so he decides that he must be strong so he wants to fight him. Tang San is just like, yeah no thanks, you win. And right then our main female lead jumps in. She wants to live with him. She challendes Wang Sheng for a fight since he won't let her stay there. She easily beats the crap of him. He wants to use their Spirit to fight, but she says she doesn't need it to win over him. Tang San ends catching Wang Sheng when he would have hurt himself real bad falling. Than the handsome guy calls Tang San, he got him a blanket and tells him fights are forbidden in the Academy. Then the girl wants to fight with Tang San since he caught Wang Sheng without his Spirit. Tang San tries to get away from the fight since her spirit is a rabbit eating grass. They still fight and he easily admits defeat. She gets dragged away by a teacher.
Wag Sheng asks a fight with Tang San to decide who would become the boss, since they took Xiaowu away. In the end, Tang San gets hurt because the light fell and he pushed Wang Sheng out of the way. Hence he became the boss of the dorm. But more like a slave. He goes to a forge to make a hook for the lamp.
At night, Xiaowu comes back to the dorm and sleep with Tang San. She cuddles him hahaha. I like her already. He convinces himself that it's a dream and everything will go back to normal the next day. But when they wake up, it's all real and she asks him to comb her her. He even knows how to braid hair. He used to do it for the kids at the village. He would take care of them and their parents would give him alcohol for his dad. She asks him about his mom and he says she's dead. He never knew her, so he really doesn't know if he should be sad or not.
And that's the end of the episode. Hm... it's kind of an awkward ending, as if they didn't check the time frame correctly? It's pretty abrupt. But, I already enjoy this drama a lot. It's going to be interesting and that main female lead is quite something so far. I like how bold she is. I look forward episode 3, though that will probably have to wait until tomorrow! Good night!

Pokémon Direct Trailer Review: Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield
The Pokémon franchise has been one of the most successful of its time, with a mass following of both male and female, young and old, from across the globe. Unsurprisingly many people wait for the next generation of games to continue their adventure and discover new regions and Pokémon.  Generation 8 brings us Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.  One of the strengths of The Pokémon Company is that they know how much information to give their fan-base without releasing too much and forgoing the anticipation.  So what all does the first trailer of Generation 8 provide?
The Galar Region
The Galar Region is the name of where this adventure takes place, with settings including plains, industrial cities, misty forests, caves with glittering jewels, snow-covered mountains, coastlines, and what looks to be a hot spring.  With so many different landscapes it stands to reason that there is going to be a large amount of native Pokémon to the Galar Region. The map of the region shows a large clock tower, and as many Pokémon fans know the inspiration for the regions comes directly from the actual world.  Kalos’ electric-gym is based off Paris’ Eiffel Tower, and the islands of Alola mirroring the Hawaiian Islands are two of the more recent examples but they go back as far as Generation 2’s architectural inspiration, if not farther.  This clock tower mentioned above appears to be based off Big Ben in England.  The map of the region does look quite linear, but it should be brought to attention that the Pokémon games have always been linear in gameplay, requiring trainers to visit the gyms in a specific order which is pre-planned and placed on the trainer card.  There has also always been an element of back-tracking to past locations within the games, so it is a near-certainty that the same will occur within Generation 8.
Tumblr media
The Starter Pokémon
Probably the most anticipated aspect of Pokémon next to the title legendary Pokémon for each game, the starter Pokémon are three characters that involve so much speculation, anxiety, hope, and fear.  At the start of each adventure, the player gets to select one of the three Pokémon to take with them on their journey, so it’s understandable why everyone looks forward to the release of this information, especially since these Pokémon can’t be caught in the wild.  The Fire-type rabbit, Scorbunny, Water-type chameleon, Sobble, and Grass-type monkey, Grookey are the starters in the Galar Region.  Nintendo and Pokémon continue their trend with the Fire-starter as a member of the Sheng Xiao (Chinese Zodiac). To date there is:
Charmander – Dragon Cyndaquil – Rodent/Mouse Torchic – Rooster Chimchar – Monkey Tepig – Pig/Boar Fennekin – Fox/Dog Litten – Tiger Scorbunny – Rabbit
Due to a trend that has happened over a 3-year period, there is a lot of worry that Scorbunny will evolve into a Fire/Fighting-type like other Fire-starter Pokémon have.  However, with only the first-stage design revealed and no information about second-stage sprites, it is much too early to confirm.  Nonetheless, speculation about dual-typings for all 3 starters is a topic at large.
Tumblr media
The Pokémon Seen
The Pokémon within the trailer will sometimes help to flush out what the region will entail as well as some of the mechanics that take place. Pokémon that we have seen currently include (in order of appearence):
Pikachu Minccino Wishiwashi Grubbin Hoothoot Zweilous Flygon Braviary Meowstic Wailmer Lucario Tyranitar Munchlax
Only one Pokémon from Generations 1 and 2 are seen, but little is meant by this with a new region.  There is a chance that some new evolutions from pre-existing Pokémon will be introduced, but speculation of such additions are present with every new Generation.  With that said, the Pokémon shown offer up some insight into what mechanics may (and should) be included within Generation 8.
The Mechanics
With so many different mechanics having been introduced across the generations required to evolve certain Pokémon, it stands to reason everything seen in the past will be present in Sword and Shield. Location-based evolution, item evolution, and friendship levels are all examples for mechanics that will be returning to gameplay.  Pokémon-amie is also likely to appear for Sylveon to be obtainable.  New in-game mechanics have not been mentioned yet, but like any Pokémon game there is almost certainly going to be some new evolution mechanic(s) introduced.
Motion controls will be used in the game as it is released on the Nintendo Switch.  Like Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokémon: Let’s Go Eevee, the Pokéball Plus will be useable with the game to control the avatar as well as catch Pokémon.  Wild battles also play a role in the game.  Usually this would go without saying, but it is worth mentioning since it was not included in the Let’s Go games.  Pokémon gyms will also be part of gameplay, a facility that was swapped out for trials in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon.
The end of the trailer shows a male avatar wearing what might be a soccer (or football) uniform walking into a stadium.  This might be a minigame similar to the Poké-athon that Heartgold and Soulsilver had, or it could be the Elite 4 location. With only a second or two of footage there is no certainty, but it would definitely be a great addition for a game set in a region taking place in the UK.
The Title Artwork
Pokémon games have teased what the legendary Pokémon for the generation will be since Generation 2 with Gold and Silver.  The symbols for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield both include the head of a wolf, which could be a clue to what Legendary Pokémon will be introduced to the games.  Part of the joy in the game series is the lore that the developers include in their game, drawing off different mythologies or counteracting forces.  One area that Pokémon has not been delved into much as of yet is Norse Mythology, but in a landscape that, as we know it, is in the Northern regions of Earth it is likely that this could be a huge inspiration for the games.  If intertextuality is anything to draw upon, A Song of Ice and Fire (A Game of Thrones) might be an indication to what the typings will be for these legendary Pokémon. It should be noted this is all speculation and nothing is concrete other than the fact that there are indeed wolf heads.

Happy Pig🐷🐷🐷, everyone! - 2019 is the Year of the Pig according to Chinese Zodiac. This is a Year of Earth Pig, starting from the 2019 Chinese New Year on February 5th and lasting to 2020 Lunar New Year’s Eve on January 24th🐽 . . . The Chinese Zodiac (Sheng Xiao), is based on a 12-year cycle, each year in that cycle related to an animal sign. These signs in order are the Rat🐭, Ox🐂, Tiger🐯, Rabbit🐰, Dragon🐲, Snake🐍, Horse🐴, Sheep🐑, Monkey🐵, Rooster🦃, Dog🐶 and Pig🐷. It is calculated according to the Chinese lunar calendar. - Do you know which one is yours?  . . 📸Here at our Lunar New Year celebration, Chef Carol Fraas (aka Bakingzen) introduced us the traditional recipes with a modern Asian twist using products from Dubreton. We had an amazing Lunar New Year feat with Jojo Fam❤!   Let's learn about DuBreton - All duBreton pork products are from pigs that are raised with a simple philosophy: Allow pigs to be pigs! The products are from pigs that are raised without the use of antibiotics in crate-free environments, are fed a high-quality grain diet that contains no animal by-product and have free access to shelter and hay or straw bedded resting areas as well as space and ability to engage in natural behaviors. DuBreton products are available at local retailers including T&T, H Mart and PAT Central Market. . . Did you know? -饺子 (jiǎo zi) Dumplings are eaten during every special occasion but are the most significant during Chinese New Year. . . . Dumplings are shaped like ancient Chinese silver and gold ingots. By wrapping dumplings, you are wrapping in the fortune. After eating them, you will live a wealthy and prosperous life. In Chinese, dumplings (饺子—jiǎo is) sounds like 交子(jiāo zi). 交 (Jiāo) means “exchange” and 子(zi) is the midnight hours. Put together, jiāo zi is the exchange between the old and new year. All dumplings should be wrapped at this time. By eating dumplings, you are sending away the old and welcoming the new! . . #duBretonDelicious#duBretonYearofthePig#jojoinstameets#Chinesenewyear#lunarnewyear#Pork#Chinese#Chinesefood#dumplings# (at Toronto, Ontario) https://www.instagram.com/p/BtZcnqoh_7I/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=11jn7sm9sj8l4

SUN SIGN / MOON SIGN
❛ your sun sign dictates your zodiac personality, while your moon sign, the second most important influence in your horoscope chart after the sun, represents your emotions, your inner mood. the  S U N  S I G N  relies on the placement of the sun at your time of birth, while your  M O O N  S I G N  takes the moon into account. ❜
scorpio. ruled by PLUTO, and a water sign, deep, PASSIONATE and intense. scorpio is symbolized by the SCORPION & cares deeply, but also HURTS deeply. scorpio is the “detective” of the zodiac with a thirst for KNOWLEDGE. their INTENSITY may draw others in, though their jealousy or need for control repels people just as easily.
scorpio tends to LASH OUT, often hiding their emotions and acting manipulatively. they are ASSERTIVE and determined and characterized as good leaders despite their tendency to MANIFEST emotion differently than other water signs. ever suspicious, scorpio hold in their feelings until there’s an EXPLOSION of sorts.
once a scorpio is crossed, they’ll seek revenge.
other characteristics are: quick wits, intelligence, decisiveness, confidence, SENSUALITY, aggression, boldness, obstinance & loyalty.
RISING SIGN
❛ R I S I N G  S I G N ( ascendent ) is the sign that was rising over the eastern horizon at your time of birth. your rising sign illustrates your outward self ( a social mask ). it influences people’s first impressions of you, how you interact, and how you view and relate to others. the self you project to the public is typically a blend of your sun sign and rising sign. ❜
leo. a fire sign ruled by the SUN, characterized by CHARM and love of drama. leo is confident and ADORES being the center of the attention and often has a sense of royalty about them. leo is a proud and generous leader, and their ability to charm, romance and entertain others makes them quite popular. symbolized by the LION, leo is CREATIVE, humorous, cheerful and warm hearted.
on the other hand, leo is often seen as ARROGANT, may be known to have temper tantrums, and appear extremely self centered. they will take the role of a leader in any relationship, and strongly rely on their need for independence and initiative. leo is generous, faithful and a truly loyal friend, born with a certain dignity and commitment to individual values.
a scorned leo is about as sharp as a scorned scorpio.
other characteristics are: strength, reliability, laziness, generosity, cheerfulness, AMBITION and optimism.
TAROT CARD
❛ the most powerful sources of information come from within; the tarot aids in coming in contact with one's higher self. ❜
THE HERMIT.  the cosmic guidance counselor, hermits are shrewd listeners and astute advisors who can also use their lie-detector minds to expose untruths, from fibs to political cover-ups. deeply concerned with the wretched plight of humanity, these sages-in-training often find comfort in religious, spiritual, political or philosophical beliefs. hermits are here to find their way to the mountaintop and then show the rest of us how to get there.
traits: MOODY, secretive, isolated, truthful, insightful, observant, and quirky.
CELTIC ASTROLOGY
❛ while western astrology centers around the planet earth, the 13 signs of celtic astrology are based on the cycle of the moon. long ago, the celts imagined the universe as a tree with deep roots and never ending branches. around 1000 B.C. people began to designate a tree for each moon phase in the lunar calendar. ❜
REED.  under the sign of the reed you are celebrated for your open-minded attitude and worldly sophistication. your ogham is ngetal, which symbolizes unity and is especially beneficial when you venture out of your comfort zone. the animals associated with the reed sign are the hound and the owl. your color is orange and your gemstone is jasper.
CHINESE ZODIAC
❛ the chinese zodiac, known as sheng xiao, is based on a twelve-year cycle, each year in that cycle related to an animal sign. these signs are the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and pig. it is calculated according to chinese lunar calendar. ❜
TIGER. outspoken on every subject, they are still tolerant and sensitive to the opinions of others. kind to their fellows, tigers can be short-tempered if they don't get their way. the tiger balances between the passions and demands of the outside world and the comfort and inwardness of home. they tend to be PHILOSOPHERS with great intellect and think most about THEMSELVES and their families. protecting their interests and loved ones to the utmost, they are generous with their love and affection.
tigers are FIGHTERS. they fight not only with the outside world, they also spar with themselves. they are always seeking the balance between their search for inner and outer peace on the one hand, and their career-driven mind on the other. they will walk through a fire for the right cause, and are not afraid to appear rebellious when they believe in ideas that go against the majority. tigers will support everything and everyone they choose -- in love, career, friends, etc. as friends, colleagues and lovers, they are loyal to the death ... and even after. people admire the stripes of the tiger, their look and their talents, but are always a bit on edge with them, as one never knows exactly how a tiger will react.
LIFE PATH NUMBER.
❛ your LIFE PATH NUMBER is perhaps the most important in determining your most fulfilling life direction. derived from your date of birth, your life path number identifies your skills and abilities, the negative traits that you must balance, and even the motivation and purpose of your life. ❜
NINE. nines have an unending flow of love to give and they offer it to the world at large. they understand the connection between all mankind and have global consciousness. nines are humanitarians and when it comes to helping they see no difference between a close friend and person they’ve never met. however, you have a difficult time understanding why others do not share your views and will often PREACH your opinions. nines are always tolerant and are the least judgmental and most conscious of the life path numbers. you never ask for credit and will stop at nothing to rectify an injustice.
as with any number, nines also have a dark side. you are often disappointed with the realities of life and especially with those around you. you have difficulty in deep or ROMANTIC relationships, as you have trouble showing your true heart. a nine’s focus and dedication to their goals often make those closest to them feel neglected and unappreciated. you see their complaints as selfish and unwarranted and you do not understand why their needs should come before something that you hold dear. this can make you withdraw and turn COLD AND APATHETIC quickly. when this dark side emerges, nines can become condescending, egotistical, and cruel, feeling no emotion as they maliciously cut out or tear into loved ones.
STRENGTHS: cooperative, charitable, self-sufficient WEAKNESSES: egocentric, discontent, fickle

^The years when each animal will be/has been the ‘year of”.
In Chinese astrology they focus on the planet Jupiter, and because it takes 12 years for Jupiter to complete one orbit the sun, hence why there is 12 animals- one for each year.
The Chinese calendar counts years in cycles of sixty years. Each year has a label consisting of two parts. The first component is the celestial stem being one of the five elements. The second component is the terrestrial branch being one of the twelve animal (zodiac) signs.

^The 12 Chinese animals and which element they are.
Each animal has personalities that represent it, including artistic, arrogant and sincere. Whilst most people in todays culture use this as a bit of fun, particularly around Chinese New Year, many people back in the Ancient times, and some people today take this very seriously and treat it almost like another Religion.
