I also got way into helping the homeless. And, I enjoyed spending time with clients in the jail.

One of the older lesbians I know died yesterday. She fought for our rights in the second wave and now she's gone..

Even 'til the end she fought for lesbian and women's rights.

This is a translation of one of her speeches:

The female bodies, because of which women have worse career opportunities. They – and only they! – could finally drop out because of a pregnancy.

The expropriation of female sexuality through genital mutilation, through rape, through pornography and prostitution, through abortion bans. Female sexuality as a mere consumer article for men. Female pleasure is redefined as pain and humiliation, not only in porn.

The dispossession of lesbian sexuality by heterosexual men who callthemselves lesbians. They rape our spaces, our self-definition and our dignity.

They rape in the narrowest sense especially young lesbians.

Every third day in Germany a woman is murdered because she says no to a man.

In many countries femicides are even more frequent when women disobey men. In many countries, the female body of a fetus determines abortion. In many countries, girls are sold for child marriages. In many countries, girls’ clitorises and lips of Venus are cut off with broken glass without anesthesia.

When I talk about structural and habitual male violence, it is now devalued as sexism against men.

If I, as a lesbian, exclude men as relationship partners, it is now labeled transphobic or even fascist.

Men determine that women are no longer allowed to talk about their bodies and men’s violence.

If young girls have problems with their female bodies because of all this, there is no feminist movement today that questions the conditions of life. Today, girls are offered mastectomy and genital mutilation as a solution. Their bodies, their sexuality are destroyed for the rest of their lives. This is the ultimate dispossession.

Women and girls are no longer allowed to talk to each other. The dick-wielding biology and sociology deniers in women’s spaces are the perpetrators of modern male violence.

In my lifetime there has never been such open and vile hatred of women as there is today. It is now to be enshrined in law.

As a lesbian and a survivor of sexualized male violence, I sometimes feel desperate and see no way out. But I remain angry. I remain passionate. And I am glad, as many of us are here, that more and more women are saying:

Enough!

We say no!

The women are us!

In fall 1971, Chuckie and two other GLF members (Angelo Peaches and Connie Worm) created the Radical Queens. The Queens had a very extensive manifesto, which included the threat “we’re angry queens that are out to get you. And when we do, we’re going to set your hair aflame and scratch your eyes out, fuckers!” However, Chuckie insists they weren’t a very formal or even organized group, and there was never a formal membership or charter. Chuckie is also very clear that he was never trying to be female, or even very effeminate, in his drag appearance.

“This was street drag, as they called it in New York,” said Chuckie. “It was genderfuck drag. Drag as terrorism. Drag as confrontation. We weren’t trying to be pretty. We weren’t trying to be women. We were trying to scare the fuck out of straight people. It was one part woman, one part man, some jewelry, some fur, and some glitter. Huge hats. High heels. Fur purses. My own son, Blaise, gave Chantilly Leice a book the 'Invocation of Azura' late in game.

Funny how Electra and Leif got gifts from NPCs early in game but not only has no NPC given Chantilly Leice a gift in all the 450+ hours sunk in her file, her son gave her somethin. The same son that I always give an allowance too. And it wasn't early in game.

It's kinda funny to think that people just like Electra and Leif better than they do Chantilly Leice.

My name is Lew Wentz.

I am a 68 year old gay criminal defense lawyer. I have been keeping journals for 46 years. I am writing a book based on the journals.

I came out as a gay man in 1984. I was married to a woman then. I left the marriage after telling her I was gay.

My younger sister, Zoe, who I was very close to, died rather suddenly of pancreatic cancer earlier this year. She gave me permission to blog the last two weeks of her life. Those blogs run from May 1 to May 14, 2023.

I journaled my journey through the turbulent 1980's and 1990's. During that time, I was pretty vocal about being gay. I volunteered to help people with aids through their illness and death. And, I believe because of this, I was fired from my job as a deputy Public Defender in Modesto California. I also documented the 12 year relationship I had with my partner, Jim, who died in 2009.

I wrote pretty much daily about these events and many others. I never intended for the entries to be made public. But, I now think they should be, as they weave what I believe to be our common story of what it's been like to be out, human and gay in the past four decades.

And, as I journaled, I developed ideas and ways to journal and wrote about them in the journals. I discuss the impact journaling has had on me. And, the amazing revelation reviewing journal entries for the blog and book of just how incredible our lives have been. Memory fades. The journal details do not.

My hope is that , after reading the blogs, and maybe some day the book, you too will become addicted to journaling. Your life on paper will amaze you down the line.

It's like the terfs have acquired this mythical status, towering above all, calling the shots for anything and everything lgbt but at the same time no one can pin point them. tbh Morrowind could have retconned the Mannish races into something more interesting and deserving of being considered separate CC options.

Like idk Bretons as Manmer and Redguards as humans from another continent/timeline could stay the same. Nords could have been some sort of Giant race so adding yet another Standard Human race with the Imperials wouldn’t be so weird.  To cap it off, give EVERY human a variety of skintones/features based on the part of Tamriel they live in.  Y’know, to make the whole Thing about Redguards less weird

How Bethesda fixed Vampires without realizing it

So there's a LOT of takes on vampires across media, and most of them are radically different from each other. The Elder Scrolls series has an interesting version that I haven't seen anywhere else, that incidentally fixes a bunch of lore issues with vampires, and yet Bethesda hasn't ever really leaned into any of that.

So, the issue with vampires in large RPGs like Elder Scrolls games, D&D, etc, is that a world where various elements of character building are supposed to be balanced, vampires are heavy on the upside and light on meaningful drawbacks. So in Oblivion, Bethesda completely reworked their vampires, coming at it with a blank slate:

Vampirism is a 4-stage affliction, with each stage increasing the numerous benefits of being a vampire as well as the middling drawbacks. Stage 4 brings with it all humanoid NPCs recognizing you as a ravenous monster and attacking you, basically wrecking the game. And, this is the unique part, you reduce stages by drinking blood. Being a vampire is LESSENED by doing the most vampiric thing out there, it actively makes you weaker.

And this is great. From a gameplay perspective, you vanish below ground to kill zombies/robots/whatever, and you grow stronger as the dungeon goes on. But if you don't rush through it, or if it's large, you surface having ignored your hunger for several days and have to do a whole second quest to sneak into town at night and drink blood, where the only reward is to engage with the game again. It's a drawback in the gameplay sense rather than the stats sense. And it lets game designers throw the player against weak vampires in town early on, and face dungeons full of max-bloodlust monsters later once the player knows how things work.

Meanwhile, from a lore perspective this is also great. Suddenly, it's not that vampires have to be evil, it's that they have a choice. A good person who flees their family to hide in a cave is going to starve, turning into a ravenous, uncontrolled, extremely strong monster. Someone who's comfortable sneaking around town drinking blood, meanwhile? They never lose control. They walk in the sun. They're perfectly human. Or as human as anyone can be while the blood of their neighbors flows in their veins.

And Bethesda doesn't DO ANYTHING with this. People you talk to in-game just treat it as "all vampires are evil, why would you expect anything else", when they've created a world where vampire morality is so much more interesting. The few vampires who exist in civilization that you're not supposed to kill don't really discuss their condition at all. And there's plenty of evil vampires choosing to live in caves running societies of vampires, when that makes no sense compared to basically any other way of life they could set up.

Bethesda games are a masterful disaster, in this as in everything else.

Okay, so I've been thinking about this ask for months.

The easiest and simplest answer is that masc is an adjective and Butch is a noun. You can identify any stranger on the street as masc, but Butch only comes with self-identification. Butch is a non-binary label that relies purely on self-identification.

That's the most widely applicable answer.

If you've studied Butch literature then you know that there are generally 4 kinds of Butches; Cis Butches, Transmasc Butches, Nonbinary Butches, and Transfem Butches. There's also the secret 5th Category of Gay Man Butches but I'm not gonna cover them.

Butch is a gender all on its own, and it is almost completely self defined. Take, for example, the life of Leslie Feinberg. She started as a cis butch and then he transitioned to a transmasc butch. Utimately, zie settled on being non-binary. Hir gender, presentation, and self understanding radically changed over the course of hir life, but zie remained butch because zie said zie was.

That's the important part.

I think one of the issues that plagues (amateur) academic studies of Butchness is the gender binary. I've seen Butch get defined as both 'Masculine Femininity' and 'Feminine Masculinity.' In my opinion, Butch is Butch and its closest cousin is masculinity.

This answer is useless to baby butches. If you're a baby and looking for answers, hit the books or the bars or the home depot. If you can't find an elder to talk to, read. Once you've read, do what feels right to you. No two butches are the same. And butchness is not tied to your sexuality. There are lesbian butches, ace butches, bisexual butches, and straight butches. It doesn't matter who you fuck, it matters who you are.

In conclusion, you know masc when you see it and if you ask someone nicely you'll find out whether they are butch or not.
