Back at LFT, we had Dirk enroll in the Physics Major and everyone managed to successfully move on to their next year. More pics under read more.

Decided to have Ripley have a bit of fun, which didn’t start out great lol, but everything went smoothly after that. Of course, there were the moments where she kept trying to put the moves on Dirk in front of Lilith, which quickly made me set them as friendzoned with one another because oh my god.

Also, some random dormie decided to try and take the cowplant’s cake which didn’t turn out well for them, evident by their urn. Of course, I missed this happening and only figured out what happened when I saw the ‘Milk’ option on the cowplant.

Here is a masterlist compiling every single university related mod that I have in my Sims 2 game. This does not include hair/clothes/makeup etc. Just my mods!

Semester Changes: Substantially changes how the university semesters work. Reduces the length of university from 24 Sim days to 8 Sim days.

Cyjon’s Debugger: Contains option to sync Sims that are made in CAS, pre-mades, or otherwise don’t have the accelerated schedule to have the Semester Changes mod immediately.

Revised Majors: All the university majors have been revised so that they are actually relevant to careers.

Later Classes: Moves all morning university classes later in the day so no class starts before noon. It complements the Semester Changes mod, as it fixes the problem where you will miss the first day of your morning class.

Loan Jar: Sims can borrow money at an interest rate that defaults to 3% per day but can be set anywhere from 1% to 9%.

Young Adults Can Enjoy Maternity (and all that): Umbrella category mod that includes: aging at university, pregnancy at university, alien pregnancy at university, adopting at university, school buses at university, and a fix for the University Greek houses. *MUST HAVE MATERNITY CLOTHES FOR YA — REFER TO BELOW LINK

Young Adult Female Maternity Outfits: Necessary for pregnancy for YA Sims.

Smarter Choice of Parent for Entering College Cinematic: Better choice of parent in the opening University move-in cinematic.

Jobs in Uni. For All: Jobs on campus - for sims and pets.

Young Adults Want and Fear Work: Young adults can have wishes and fears about work: find a job, go to work, get a promotion, etc.

Stinky Dormies & Assignments Fix: Stops the ‘Do Assignment’ interaction from advertising hygiene relief to dormie sims. Will stop dormies from doing an assignment when what they really need is a shower.

No College Time Progression On Community Lots: This mod will prevent the college timer from progressing on community college lots and allow it to progress on all residential lots. This lets your students crash nightclubs and cafés as long as they want, or, if you want your Sims to get the college experience over with - stay home!

Computer Mods: Monique’s Hacked Computer (How-To Guide), Brighter Screens, Default Replacements, University Term Paper Default

New Turn Ons: This mod adds four new turn ons/offs to the game. In addition, it fixes quite a few problems with the attraction/chemistry system.

Pets at University: This mod allows young adults and university residents to do a variety of pet related actions such as adoption, selling and buying, and having wants and fears about pets.

Townie Body Diversity: With these mods installed, whenever the game makes a new townie, it will roll a die to decide whether the townie should be fat, fit or thin.

There Can Be Only One (Professor): Game will generate one rather than two professors for each major. Gender will be random.

Young Adult Walk Fix: Removes the weird Young Adult walk.

TS2 Quality of Life Mods

idk what else to call them... Mods that make sims slightly less annoying to deal with, or slightly more self-sufficient, or tweaks that help reduce risks of corruption or otherwise avoid less than ideal problems/situations.

It’s not 100% comprehensive, just a list of mods I personally use or have used. Even then I have way more mods than this total, but I just wanted to focus on one specific aspect.

I intended this to be more like a personal archive than anything, so don’t take it as guarantee that every single one works together without conflict lol

• Visitor Controller (you can allow/ban sims from a lot based on tons of things)

• ACR (Autonomous Casual Romance)

• Same Sex Marriage (no “Joined Union" for gay couples just “Married”)

• No Sim Loaded (removes “Sim Loaded” tokens from sims, which apparently do nothing anyway, and whenever a lot is loaded it automatically clears/resets things that are otherwise broken or could possibly cause corruption, also suppresses the Super Duper Hug Bug so you don’t see it in the game)

• No Lecture Baby (stops sims from lecturing babies for being stinky)

• Less Toddler Annoyance (toddlers ask adults for stuff based on needs/skills)

• Batbox (clear gossip to reduce chances of corrupted memories, make sims stop doing the silly dance face if it gets stuck, delete all rain puddles, make dormies stuck as transparent from being in their room normal again, etc.)

• Stuck Object Remover (place it on a square to delete everything in that square if you can’t otherwise see/interact with whatever’s stuck there)

• No Unlinkage On Urnstone Delete (prevents shredded character files caused by deleting tombstones or when moving them to community lots)

• No Corrupted Death Memory (reduces the chances of seeing the corrupted memory that we all know as the “squiggly lines” - btw it’s a corrupted memory NOT a corrupted sim/hood. still not great, but also not the end of the world if you do end up seeing it)

• Lot Inspecter (place it on a lot and it tells you if it’s safe to delete a lot or not because of tombstones, offworld loiterers, owned businesses, etc.)

• NPC Maker Fix (improves functionality of NPC Maker that can be spawned with TestingCheatsEnabled)

• Breadfruit Tree Fix (stops tree from burning forever after lightning hits it)

• Bug Collection Fix (sims literally can’t complete the bug collection without this)

• Call to Meal Fix (doing “Call to Meal” won’t include servos/babies/toddlers/plantsims/NPCs in who comes over to grab a plate)

• Dance Advertising Tweaks (different dances are preferred based on personality)

⥅ Mikey, Venti, Denki

Can’t cook for shit, the moment they step into the kitchen you know you’re just gonna end up ordering take out by the time your done. Has bare minimum cooking experience, it’s easier to believe they study rather than cook. Definitely adds random Ingredients while you’re not looking believing he’s helping you. Least to say you did not show up to your class, instead a doctors office. Banned from the kitchen, he’s better off eating noodles from a cup. Now you’re here cooking for him and yourself while he watches you from afar. 2/10. 💯

⥅ Mitsuya, Xiao, Todoroki

Talk about cooking skills, he has a cookbook that you both follow when making a meal. It turns out more than decent due to his experiences. Type of person to back away from hot oil though, the moment it bubbles he steps back. No worries though, hopefully you’re not scared of hot oil. Can turn cup noodles into a actual meal. 8/10 cooking skills. Overall he is a fun person to cook with, nice conversations although it’s quiet at most times. But knowing your his dormie, definitely close. Talks to you about school, family, anything in general.

⥅ Ran, Childe, Hawks

He’s not bad however he’s not good either. Has a decent amount of experience when it comes to cooking. Cuts the vegetables while you do the seasonings and cooking. Useful at most, if you’re doing something and you need him to season, he knows what to do. Sometimes he accidentally adds to much spice cause he tried to eyeball it. Almost cried yourself to sleep cause you couldn’t feel your tongue anymore, on the other hand he had a lawsuit coming his way. At least while you’re cooking he fills you in on any drama that happened recently in his class regarding his professors or other students. 6.5/10.

⥅ Draken, Scaramouche, Bakugo

He knows what he is doing, in this case you’re not allowed in the kitchen. Sit back and watch this man cook, don’t try and even grab a snack. Will definitely glare at you then yell at you to put it down, and to wait 10 minutes cause the food is almost done. Let me tell you, this man’s cooking is out of the world. He cooks for you, so taking a snack before he’s done cooking is another level of disrespect. It’s always worth the wait, literally asked you what you wanted for dinner, cooked it without hesitation even if the meal is something he’s never cooked before. If it’s a cultural dish, he’s on his way to perfect it, doesn’t matter what it is. 10/10

⥅ Rindou, Kaeya, Dabi

Helps you out when you’re cooking, however he is clueless as hell. All of a sudden he’s cutting something and then looks flabbergasted cause he doesn’t know what he’s doing for a second. He’s a good cook, but he needs help. Literally accidentally burned himself cause he was watching on his phone while stirring something, almost dropped the phone into the pot as well. Never brought his phone into the kitchen whenever you’re cooking. When you come back from home there’s a meal for you, sometimes he gets lazy so he orders take out instead. But his cooking skills are good, however just a bit unaware of his surroundings and what he’s doing. 7.5/10.

Je suis sortie hier avec Ju' et à un moment elle m'a déposée en voiture près de chez le Dieu Grec et j'avais littéralement 1 minute de marche à faire mais j'ai quand-même réussi à me perdre parce que j'étais bourrée. Je suis restée en appel avec Ju' mais c'était compliqué pour elle de m'aider du coup j'ai demandé à 2 meufs random et on est devenues MEILLEURES POTES. Je vous jure on parlait comme si on se connaissait depuis des années et on s'est dit qu'on allait devenir un trio?? On sautait dans tous les sens tellement on était contentes de s'être trouvées, c'était adorable j'ai trop aimé ce moment omg. Y en a une qui a insisté pour qu'on se fasse des soirées films, c'était trop mims. Par contre elles étaient aussi nulles que moi pour trouver l'endroit alors qu'il suffisait de tourner à gauche, ça me tue. Bref du coup on vivait notre meilleure vie à 3 quand des mecs nous ont abordé en disant "hot combien l'une de vous dort dans le coffre de ma voiture"??? Wtf?? Puis au final on a sympathisé avec eux, y en avait un TROP drôle et un trooop sympa (pires descriptions mdr). On a pas ajouté le mec drôle sur insta parce qu'il était en couple et il ne préférait pas mais on a ajouté le mec trop sympa et on s'est dit qu'on ferait peut-être une soirée ensemble la semaine prochaine!!

Finalement les 2 meufs ont appelé un de leur pote PAS BOURRÉ pour qu'il m'aide enfin à trouver l'appart du Dieu Grec. Il l'a appelé et a enfin pris les choses en main. On s'est tous dirigés chez lui du coup, les 3 débilos et le mec hyper sérieux. Je crois qu'il était saoulé de ouf le pauvre.

On s'est donnés nos numéros et elles m'ont demandé si tout se passait bien avec mon plan câlin, on s'est dit bonne nuit et tout aaahhhh c'était trop chou. BREF wtf il se passe toujours 10milliards de choses en soirée.

Et finalement après nos câlins, le Dieu Grec s'est endormi paisiblement et moi j'étais là en mode "qu'est-ce ce qui vient de se passer ce soir??" Et aussi j'avais trop envie de continuer nos câlins, j'étais pas du tout fatiguée c'était horrible j'ai pas dormi de la nuit.

I have a question because I'm going crazy and I don't understand if I'm stupid or the game hates me.

The three Maxis universities add 50+ sims + NPCs to all three universities to occupy the dormitories. These sims are called dormies and are PRE-CREATED like premade sims. They are not random, they are always the same, the only random thing is their name.

Long story short, I DON'T WANT THEM. I don't want 50+ USELESS character files for every university infesting my immaculate save that doesn't even have the townies of the main neighborhoods.

They are all cloned face templates, they are not even different from each other. You can't even use them for any benefit.

I use meetmetotheriver's clean templates (including universities) and whoever I asked I was always told that their templates DO NOT have dormies, but in the meantime I have been using them for YEARS and I HAVE ALWAYS HAD THOSE DAMN DORMIES.

I also recently tried re-adding the universities in two different saves and in both saves the dormies keep adding.

Am I stupid or do people remember wrong?

And no, don't tell me I need nodormieregen. I have that mod and it is of no use against pre-created maxis dormies. That mod only works with randomized dormies that aren't pre-created :/

Académie Le Tour Dormie Pool

I received a comment on my LFT Dormie Pool post asking about pools for the other two universities, so have some Académie Le Tour dormies!

All 50 ALT dormies, ready to be added to your dormie-less ALT!

I gave everybody a cellphone and any information the wiki had on them such as LTWs and Interests if they had them. Names will be randomized when you add the pool but you can change them with simpe back to their originals.

Secret Society members have the appropriate token, but I once again did not test to see if they actually are really members whoops. Also, I again may or may not have fixed Houston’s broken face.

Keep in mind they’re pictured here with my default skin and eyes.

Now I must tell you the potential bad news... 😳 I made two blunders, one incredibly minor and the other slightly larger. The minor blunder is that Zion Cormier actually accidentally has blonde eyebrows instead of black. He didn't extract with his blue hair and when I gave it to him in CAS his eyebrows changed blonde and I unfortunately didn't notice. Easily changeable.

The larger blunder is that I was dumb and made the empty subhood before I extracted the dormies from original ALT and I forgot to re-disable the university neighborhood templates after so 12 character files of professors generated and I didn't realize until I was almost finished townifying 😫 But I created numerous test hoods and I've found that the 12 professor character files don't get added if UALT is added as the second university. Example if you add any other university and then add "Académie Le Tour Dormie Pool" you don't get them. If you add ONLY "Académie Le Tour Dormie Pool" you do. I'm so sorry! 😫 But if you wind up with 12 professors, I guess you're free to keep, kill etc them but I didn't want to touch them myself.

Anyways,

To use the dormie pool, place the UALT folder into either

C: > Program Files (x86) > Origin Games > The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection > University Life > TSData > Res > NeighborhoodTemplate

or C: > Program Files (x86) > EA Games > The Sims 2 > The Sims 2 University > TSData > Res > NeighborhoodTemplate

or if you have your game installed somewhere else, so long as it winds up in the neighborhood template folder of your university EP.

After that, add it like a normal university. After you add it, you can delete it (provided it’s not the only unversity) and the dormies will stay.

As with anything, and especially due to my mistake, I recommend adding to a test throwaway hood before adding to hoods you care about. Don’t forget backups! 🙏I warned you! 💕

Hex finishes microwaving her breakfast, turning around when she hears a strange voice call out to her. She sees two random students eagerly waiting to speak to her. It’s exam day. Don’t they have anything better to do than stare at her?

Hex: “Uhhh…mornin’?”

Trent: “I’m Trent! First Semester History Student!”

Bailey: “And I’m Bailey! Culinary major - first semester!”

Hex: “Uhh…nice to meet you? I don’t recognise you?”

The two students look at one another, then burst out laughing at her confusion. Hex wonders where her best friend, Weatherly, could be. He always calms down her nerves when sims irritate her. 

Trent: “We’re your new roomies!”

Bailey: “Every time you leave the lot, you spawn new dorm mates! The Sim God gave up on giving us makeovers!”

Of course, that’s why she doesn’t recognise the sims standing before her. She cackles internally, hoping that the Sim God suffers every time a randomly dressed townie appears!

Hex: “I won’t remember your names, but it’s nice to meet you, I guess.”

The townies stare in shock as Hex brushes past them. How can she be so rude to them?!

Random's

One last post before I go work on some projects.

Enzo was craving some fitness activity so he had all the dormies not in class go for a jog with him.

Count Jake Huerta found himself in a bit of sun.

Most of the family usually has the flu or a cold, so Delilah made some comfort soup and got everyone to come have some. They are felt better for the rest of the day. The next day half of them were sick again.

After over a week of trying, Demeter made it to the top of her teen career - Crime.

Oh god, oh wow...it's like you opened the floodgates lmao. I read this and was overwhelmed with all the random facts I know and the stuff I learned since taking an animation history class lol (I want to take another one so bad lol)

Hence why it...took me a minute to think of an answer lol. But I will definitely say my favorite tidbit of animation history is that...Walt Disney's Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs wasn't actually the first feature-lengthed animated film...it was Lotte Reiniger's The Adventures of Prince Achmed in 1926, whereas Disney's Snow White debuted in 1937.

Lotte Reiniger was a German filmmaker/director, a silhouette puppet animator, and a pioneer in animation (especially for women in animation) who was well-known for her gorgeous cut-out silhouette puppet animation which is very similar to stop motion (think of it like moving individual limbs on a flat doll and moving each limb very delicately and then taking an image of it and repeating that process).

She also was responsible for earlier prototypes of the multiplane camera (which helps 2D films give their sense of depth...which Disney also took credit for).

I encourage everyone to seek out her films and learn more about her. As a woman that adores animation and genuinely wants to partake in it, it's super inspiring to know what a huge impact we've made and how sad it is that it often gets overlooked.
