Writing any kind of story is a scary proposition, especially if it deals with personal stuff. And writing about trans people during a bogus moral panic is especially daunting -- it's easy to either pull your punches, or feel as though the burden of good trans representation weighs on your shoulders. The good news is that we are living during a time of extreme riches when it comes to trans stories, and a ton of wonderful authors are writing trans tales that defy categorization and bust through boundaries. So please write the story that speaks to you, the story that only you can tell about your own obsessions and dreams. It can be scary or funny or comforting or escapist, or all of the above — don't worry that what you write will be singled out as the One True Trans Story, or seen as a representation of all trans people. Just write your story.

Straight up the worst thing about the trans rights readathon is getting all my books squared away but knowing I have to wait to read them.
That being said, my public library is coming in clutch with a lot of books! I've already got 3 books and got like 4 more coming. Plus, the digital copies Im borrowing from hoopla and libby!
My aim is to read more than I did last year and get donations from people who aren't my family. Last year I read like 15, so this year I'm going for 20.
So if you'd like to follow me and donate to South Dakota's own Transformation Project that would be great!
I'll use this blog to keep track of my books, my ratings and any pledges.

Seeking recommendations for the Trans Rights Readathon! I'm trying to fill out every bingo spot, and I'm struggling with a few different categories.
I still need Pacific Islander Author, Poetry, and Outside Your Comfort Zone (Poetry will automatically fill Outside Your Comfort Zone!). Does anyone have any recs for books that hit those? Limitations: ebooks only (I can't focus on audiobooks and hard copies won't arrive on time), I won't use Amazon, and, obviously, they have to be available for Australian buyers! Genre-wise, I vastly prefer SFFH (science fiction, fantasy, and horror).
Any recommendations appreciated! <3
Edit: Got what I need for the fills, thank you, all!

It’s trans rights readathon time over on twitter. I don’t know if it’s also a thing on tumblr, but figure I might as well advertise here too. After all I’m a trans that writes. Often about trans characters.
Oh.
And.
I’m having a sale on Itch to celebrate. 25% off all my older stories with trans narratives.

Okay, spider looking aliens are not my favorite. But reading about this labrador sized, multi-legged creature playing with a retractable tape measure is making me rethink my definition of “adorable”.
