Deborah Kerr (Bonjour Tristesse, An Affair to Remember, The King and I)— For several decades she held the record for most Oscar nominations without a win (6 in total), and she was a prolific leading lady throughout the 40s and 50s. She's best known today for the romance An Affair to Remember with Cary Grant, and as the governess in The King and I. Many people have this erroneous perception of her as extremely prim, proper, and virginal, but this could not be further from the truth. When she first came to Hollywood under MGM she was typecast into boring decorative roles, but broke sexual boundaries for herself and Hollywood generally in From Here to Eternity, when she made out (horizontally!) with Burt Lancaster (on top of him!) in the famous Beach Scene. She went on to play many sexually conflicted women, a character type that would define most of her post- Eternity work. She continued to break Hays Code boundaries with Tea and Sympathy, which addresses homosexuality/homophobia head-on, and even did a topless scene in The Gypsy Moths 1969!! One of the only classic stars to do so. She deserves a more nuanced and frankly a hotter legacy than she currently has!!!

Keiko Awaji (Stray Dog, A Japanese Tragedy, When a Woman Ascends the Stairs)— Her role as Harumi— a dancer who lives with her mom and will go to incredible lengths for one nice dress— is so fucking killer. she more than holds her own against Toshiro Mifune, the incredible sense of dread and foreboding in their scenes has really stuck with me

Hazel Scott (Broadway Rhythm, Rhapsody in Blue)—ok ok let me tell you about Hazel Scott. She was a Trinidadian piano genius. By the age of 3 she could play the piano by ear. She would play jazzed-up versions of classics in nightclubs and could sing too! She appeared in five movies, and used her influence as a piano prodigy to improve Black representation in film—she turned down offensive parts, demanded equal pay, and always wore her own costumes to ensure she was portrayed as glamorous and beautiful. She was the first African-American woman to host her own television show, The Hazel Scott Show. She stood up for civil rights and was an overall icon! I think she was one of my first crushes before I realised I was bi in The King and I when I watched it as a kid honestly. The kissing scene in From Here to Eternity is iconic for a reason. Actually tried to learn the accents for the characters she was playing if they weren't English which is more than pretty much anyone else was doing then. Played very restrained characters who frequently seemed to be desperate not to be so restrained. Did horror movies without venturing into hagsploitation tropes. Gave Marni Nixon the credit she deserved for her share of the singing in The King and I.

Anne Larsen is a peak late 1950s bisexual with big MILF energy. Have you seen the behind the scenes pics of her wearing a suit?? Have you????? Vote Deb as Anne Larsen.

Nominated for an Oscar six (6) times and never won, but besides her having actual talent (hot), and besides her looking Like That (very hot, also beautiful), she was always playing women who are, like, crazy repressed. Which makes it fun and easy for me to read these characters as queer. Icon!!!! You know what's hot? Playing ambiguously gay in vintage Hollywood.

Her face and talent and body, yes, ofc, duh. But also!!! Her HANDS!!!! I may be but a simple lesbian, but she is the best hactor (hand actor) that ever lived and that's HOT! For propriety's sake I feel I must redact a large portion of my commentary on this subject. Anyway. She's hot in her most famous roles (mentioned above), and also some of her sexiest hacting is on display in An Affair to Remember (her hand on the bannister when Cary Grant kisses her off-screen??? HELLO???), Tea and Sympathy (when she's trying to persuade Tom not to go out and she keeps flexing her hands like she wants to reach out to him but can't??? ALLY BEHAVIOR! WE STAN!), and The Innocents (which opens and closes with extended shots of her hands bc director Jack Clayton was also an ally and he did that for ME). Much of her appeal also lies in the fact that she often played deeply repressed characters and you know what's hot? When those uptight characters finally unravel. It's sexy. It's cathartic. It's erotic. Plus, she's beautiful to look at in both black & white and technicolor, and the more of her films you see, the more you can't help but fall in love!

Literally is in thee most famously sexy scene of all time (or maybe just during the hays code era which is what we're talking about HELLO), which is the beach scene with Burt Lancaster in from here to eternity. To quote a tumblr post of a screen capture of a tweet of a video of joy behar on the view: "y'know, there used to be movies where they were kissing on the beach... From Here to Eternity. They're kissing-- Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr are Kissing on the Beach and then the WAVES crash!! You know exactly what they did!"

She might have a reputation of being chaste and virginal or whatever, but we all know it's the quiet ones who are certifiable FREAKS

Unwanted: Chapter 8, Unexpected - Pt. 1

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Avenger!Fem!Reader

Summary: When your FWB relationship with your best friend Bucky Barnes turns into something more, you couldn’t be happier. That is, however, until a new Avenger sets her sights on your super soldier and he inadvertently breaks your heart. You take on a mission you might not be prepared for to put some distance between the two of you and open yourself up to past traumas. Too bad the only one who can help you heal is the one person you can no longer trust.

Previously On...: Tony invented an interesting game for the team to play while you and Bucky were otherwise... occupied, and the team voted on whether or not to approve Jade's probationary term. To your surprise, Bucky voted against it, though it didn't matter, as you were outvoted, but you were grateful for his support.

A/N: Welcome to Chapter 8! I know Bucky said some shitty stuff in Ch. 7, Pt. 1, but I'd like to clarify that none of what was said was out of malice or lack of care for Pocket. He just truly wasn't thinking about how the things he said would make her feel. Is it callous? Absolutely. Is it unforgivable? I don't necessarily think so. We all have moments where we simply speak without thought. It's not his finest moment in the fic, but it's also not going to be his worst.

The next few weeks were some of the best of your life. True to his word, Bucky was romancing the absolute shit out of you. It seemed like nearly every night, he was whisking you out for another romantic dinner, or to this hole-in-the-wall jazz club he found so he could finally take you dancing ("the proper way, not this humping-while-standing-up-thing you kids do nowadays"). He brought fresh flowers to both your suite and your office once a week like clockwork, and the sex-- well, there were some mornings you couldn't even walk properly. It was perfect. He was perfect.

Together, you existed in your own little bubble, a new level of happiness unlocked in both of you that neither one ever expected to achieve.

The day of Jade's move-in to the Tower arrived, and you would have completely forgotten all about it if Tony hadn't mentioned it to you when you passed him in the hall on your way to meet Bucky in the common room for lunch. The reminder didn't weigh you down like you had expected it to. While she was unpleasant, and you didn't expect to become chums with her anytime soon, that burning rage you'd felt for her when she'd flirted with Bucky had subsided. Knowing how he felt about you had worn your jealousy down to non-existent.

You entered the common room, spotting Bucky kneeling in front of the coffee table, his back to you, as he took the lunches he'd ordered for you out of their takeout carriers and arranging them on the surface.

Feeling playful, you decided to sneak up on him, covering his eyes with your hands when you finally reached him.

"You know I heard you coming a mile away, doll," he chuckled, reaching around to pull you into a kiss. "Could smell you, too."

"Oh, I--" You felt the heat rise to your cheeks as you sank next to him on the floor. Just thinking about Bucky was enough to get you aroused most days, but for it to be enough for him to smell--

"Relax, ya pervert; I meant your perfume," Bucky laughed, passing you a bottle of iced tea from the take out bag. You playfully swatted at him.

"You're awful," you admonished with a grin.

"Yet, you love me," he shot back, leaning in to give you a quick kiss.

"The world is full of mysteries," you teased. You started opening up the container of Gaeng Daeng Bucky had ordered from your favorite Thai place. The portions were so large, you'd only ever be able to eat half of it, but that was just fine; your super soldier boyfriend would make sure none of it went to waste.

"I do love that lilac perfume on you," Bucky mused as he dug into his own plate of Pad Krapow Moo Saap. "Mixes so nice with the scent of your pussy."

You choked on a bite of your curry as Bucky broke into a fit of laughter. Handing you your bottle of tea, Bucky gently rubbed your back as he tried to reel himself in. "I'm sorry, doll. Drink this. Don't go choking to death on me, now."

When you were finally able to get your breathing back under control, you shot him a look.

"What?" he said, face the picture of innocence as he held up his hands in surrender. "'s not my fault you have the prettiest pussy I've ever laid my tongue on."

For the sake of propriety, you wanted to be mad at, or at least a little annoyed by him. But, Lord, if his words didn't do things to you. So, instead, you grabbed him by the shirt collar and pulled him toward you in a bruising kiss. His hands quickly guided your body down, until you were lying on the floor and he was resting on top of you, your Thai food temporarily abandoned as you gave in to one another.

Bucky had just begun pawing at your clothes when you both froze at the sound of someone awkwardly clearing their throat in the doorway.

"Common Room's closed for maintenance. Come back later," Bucky called over his shoulder without even looking. You couldn't help but laugh as he resumed kissing you. The man had no shame and you were kinda into it.

"Buck." The single word, low and harsh from Steve left you both frozen in place. In unison, you picked your heads up and looked to the door. Standing in the archway were three individuals-- one looking at you with barely disguised amusement, one with undisguised rage, and one who was trying very hard not to look at you at all.

"I hope you're not fraternizing on company time, Pocket," Tony said with a grin. Surprisingly, he had warmed up to the idea of you and Bucky being together (especially after you had threatened to "take my talents somewhere where my personal life won't be scrutinized and judged." "You wouldn't!" he'd gasped. "I wouldn't want to," you'd replied. "Don't let that be my only remaining option." It had been an empty threat; you both knew it, but it had been enough to get him on board).

The same couldn't be said for the man who refused to look at you, though. Since you and Bucky had officially begun dating, Steve had been ignoring you like you had cooties and he was unvaccinated, and you couldn't, for the life of you, figure out why. You'd brought your concern up to Bucky one evening, sure he'd assuage your anxiety, but he just told you to give the other man time to sort himself, leaving you with more questions. Did Steve hate you now because he thought you'd stolen his best friend from him? Or were those ‘Stucky’ shippers on Tumblr onto something?

"Like you're one to talk, Boss," you sassed back to Tony as you and Bucky extricated yourselves from your compromising position and stood up. Brushing down your pants, you turned to Bucky. "Can't even begin to tell you how many girls I've walked in on this guy with in the office before Pep came into the picture. Scarred me for life."

Tony had a faux-sappy look on his face and let loose a couple of fake sniffles as he clutched his hands to his heart. "Office dalliances of her very own. My little girl is all grown up. There is nothing more for me to teach you, precious Padawan." His hands moved to wipe away at a fake tear.

"Tony," Steve warned with a raised brow.

Tony blanched, as though just remembering his purpose for being in the common room. "Oh, yeah. Um, very unprofessional, you two. I'm shocked. Just scandalized. This is a place of business, blah blah blah and all that. Anyway, you remember Jade Carthage, our newest Probationary Avenger."

Ah, the third individual who was glaring at you with unadulterated hatred in her eyes.

"Vixen, nice to see you again. Welcome to the team." Bucky extended his hand for Jade to shake, and you watched her gaze soften and melt under his as she took his hand.

"Such a pleasure to see you again, Sergeant Barnes," she cooed. When Bucky released her hand, she turned to you, a cold, wicked smile that cut like a knife across her face.

"I don't think we've met," she said, extending her hand to you. "I'm Jade Carthage, but please, call me 'Vixen.'"

"(Y/N) (Y/L/N)," you said, with a shrug, as if completely nonplussed that she claimed not to know you. “My friends call me ‘Pocket,’ but Ms. (Y/L/N) should suffice.'" You took her hand to shake it. "CTO of Stark Industries, head of Innovation and Technology for the Avengers’ Initiative. Bucky's girlfriend." Jade's grip around your hand tightened, her super soldier strength making it feel as though she were crushing your very bones, but you held on, not letting a single ounce of pain show on your face. You'd dealt with worse.

When you didn't back down, Jade let your hand go. You flexed your fingers, relishing in the return of blood flow to your appendages.

"Buck," Steve said, and you were kind of hoping for more than just a single syllable out of him this time, "we're putting Jade next door to you. Mind showing her where to go? We've already had her stuff moved in. Tony and I just need to finalize some paperwork with her and we'll have her back down."

Sensing your body tense up at Steve's request, Bucky placed a reassuring hand at the small of your back. "Well, I'm in Pocket's room most nights now, anyway." He looked down at you, offering a soft smile that you returned. "But since she's just across the hall, yeah. We can walk you down, Jade. That is," he added, his smile turning a little naughty, "if I can convince my girl here to take the afternoon off and indulge me with a bit of her time." His arm moved from your back up to around your shoulders, and he pulled you into him.

"Well," you hemmed, as though not already completely convinced that would be an absolutely wonderful idea, "I have to check with my boss first. Hey, Tony?" He pursed his lips at you, clearly not pleased that you wanted to slack off. "Can I take the afternoon off?" He opened his mouth, most likely to deny you, but you cut him off "Oh, wait-- that's right. I don't actually report to you anymore." You turned back to Bucky. "We're good to go, baby." You winked and blew Tony a kiss. You both knew you had so much unused vacation time stacked up, you could not show up to work for a year and you'd barely tap into it.

"Great," Bucky said with a smile. "We'll finish our lunch and you can meet us back here when you're done finalizing your paperwork, and we'll show you your new digs."

Steve nodded and grunted his consent, while Jade just glared at you.

"Perfect," said Tony with a clap of his hands. Before turning to leave, he looked back at you and Bucky with a conspiratorial nod. "Just make sure to finish off your lunch and not each other, got it? I'm not due to have this carpet shampooed for another couple of weeks, and they charge extra for dealing with bodily fluids."

"Oh, gross, Tony," you moaned, while they walked off, Tony laughing to himself.

Once they were gone and you and Bucky had settled back around the coffee table to eat your now cooling Thai, you leaned in and kissed him. "Thank you," you said when you'd pulled away.

"For what?" he asked, breath a little uneven from the kiss.

"For being amazing and handling that entire thing perfectly," you told him, putting a hand on his knee.

He smiled at you, his blue eyes like crystals. "I told you, sweetheart, gonna be the best goddamned boyfriend you ever had, and that means making sure I'm not putting myself in a situation with her" he nodded his head toward the now empty doorway, "that makes you uncomfortable. Besides, it was really immature of her to pretend she didn't know who you were. I'm not going to spend alone time with someone who disrespects my girl like that."

You brought your hand up to stroke his jaw. "Have I told you how much I fucking love you?"

"Yeah," said Bucky, smiling at you through a big bite of his food, "but you might have to repeat yourself a lot. I am over a hundred, you know. My hearing's not what it used to be."

Hello I was just wondering if you've seen Imani Barbarin talk about not voting (https://x.com/imani_barbarin/status/1747723080917492020?s=46&t=55h0eHrgY7FtQI8ej54maw)? I saw you reblog the post about "not waiting for the morally pure candidate" and I think that's a willful misrepresentation of what Gen Z is feeling

We've not seen Biden address ANY of the things the post claims (climate change is the only one I remember without scrolling back) but we have seen him approve more oil licenses than trump, drop more bombs than trump, support a genocide, abandon disabled people and any Covid mitigations during the second highest surge since the start of the pandemic (with less testing so odds are things r even worse than we can tell), bring back student debt, etc etc

As a Gen Z'r, I genuinely want to understand how y'all can believe "no vote is a vote for fascism" when both candidates are horrendous? Why is the onus on us and not the politicians to do better instead of pointing fingers and saying "at least we're better than Trump" when that is categorically untrue?

I'm sorry if this is too rant-y I'm just so furious and frustrated with my perception of older voters' complacency with being given utter shit instead of organizing for better

I am trying very hard to be reasoned and understanding about this- bearing in mind that we want the same things in the end and I'mnot jazzed for Biden either -when it's extremely, EXTREMELY obvious to me that Trump is worse.

Like.

If he gets elected there might not be another election. The man was theoretically willing to use military force to quell protests if he lost the 2020 election (why he didn't, I don't know; but I'm not willing to give him that chance a second time).

Trump has called himself a dictator, proudly, in the same breath as saying "we're closing the border and we're drilling, drilling, drilling." Biden does NOT remotely have a perfect record on either of those things- he was locked into some construction of the border wall by how the funds had already been allocated by Congress during the Trump administration, but not everything he's done in relation to it, which also pisses me off. As for the oil thing, it's a bit more complicated than it seems on the surface: not as simple as "he doesn't actually care about the environment" even as it's definitely not a good move or in line with his stated climate goals.

As for those climate goals, I found this interesting article that rates key areas of climate action and how they've fared during the Biden administration. It was updated in January, and it is not sycophantically uncritical across the board. But that is LEAGUES more progress than we'd get under a system of "drilling, drilling, drilling" with absolutely no concessions to the climate crisis at all.

His handling of the situation in Palestine...yeah, I struggle with that, too. I know he's been trying to talk their leaders down, to some degree, but it's not nearly enough to me. And I STRONGLY disagree with us selling them weapons. However, Trump's statements on the matter- calling for a ban on Gazan refugees in the US, calling pro-Palestinian protestors "barbarians," and saying he'd revoke the student visa of anyone he deemed "anti-American" -makes me believe that letting him get into power is not something my conscience would allow, vis a vis the fate of the Palestinian people. Because it would be exponentially worse.

I also think the material good that has happened under the Biden administration has been...MASSIVELY under-publicized. Because like. He HAS addressed things. Lots of things, in fact.

this article from last year was too early to include pardoning thousands of people federally convicted of simple marijuana possession (again, not perfect, but still very good), setting new rules to limit methane emissions, capping prices for at least some major insulin producers, partial student loan debt forgiveness (tried to do more, but got hamstrung by Republicans), cancelling oil leases granted by Trump in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (not enough given the leases HE granted, but it's not nothing either), and much more I'm sure I'm overlooking. Because, again, nobody's been talking about it. It sells more news subscriptions to feed readers an endless stream of what Biden is doing wrong- which I am not denying! -leaving people with the dangerous impression that both sides are the same. Republicans would not have done any of this. That's just the truth of the matter.

Look, I would like a better option, too. I would love to actually LIKE a presidential candidate in my lifetime. I'd love one who wouldn't make concessions to the interests of selfish, heartless people with ledgers where their sense of human compassion should be. I just don't see that person coming to power between now and November.

And I'll take someone who is Standard US Politician Slimy but at least makes some improvements (unfortunately, I doubt there's anyone with a chance of winning in less than a year who doesn't support Israel to some degree, since this country have a long history of that) over someone who might actually stage a right-wing military coup, and who would kill me and other marginalized people himself if he thought it would get him more fame and fortune.

Some people say their conscience won't let them vote Biden. I can't tell them what to do. But if he gets the Democratic nomination, my conscience wouldn't let me do anything else.

With the antagonist poll ending, and the ultimate battle over, it's time for goodbyes.

The antagonist poll was way more fun to conduct, even with the smaller number of contestants it was way more fun to run, mainly becuse i knew what i was doing now.

While im not fully happy with the results myself, it was a fun thing to do and see. Great to see the shooter enjoyers from all around the site come together, even for the obscure ones...

TERRIBLE NEWS. TUMBLR HAS REMOVED MY ABILITY TO ADD POLLS TO REBLOGS???

anyways. i'm trying to decide where to put skizz and joel in the hermitcraft blaseball au.

skizz's team is already decided (he's on the lovers, duh). yes that's his team in the life series au too, it's not my fault he has a brand. i made these aus before secret life even started.

but joel is harder to decide so i'm giving the choice to you all, who i trust with joel opinions more than i trust myself.

i'll add my reasoning for the teams provided below the cut, alongside a list of all the other options, including which hermits are on which team if putting him on the same team as certain people matters to you.

tokyo lift: other hermits already on the team include stress and false, who i think he'd have a fun dynamic with. i'm pretty sure the lift had a cyberpunk theme, as does joel this season. if he's on the lift i can justify drawing him with a pink streak instead of a green one. i'm also feeding into his ego here and putting him on the strong team.

yellowstone magic: he would be teammates with zed here, and i just think they would be very funny together. i can also justify dying his hair pink here, though it's much more magenta. also i think shrek would've lived in yellowstone. idk it feels right.

kansas city breath mints: i think joel would fit in with them vibes-wise (which is to say i think he would fail the bar exam). but i mostly included the breath mints in the poll because he would be teammates with cleo and gem.

breckenridge jazz hands: it would be pretty funny to shove joel in a room full of band kids, theater kids, resident mean girl iskall eightyfive, and xisuma. just imagine it with me. however. know that if you vote for joel to be on the jands, he will be making a brief cameo in my pearl/netty/jimmy precog trio fic that i'm working on as jimmy's replacement on the jands when he dies. for flavor!

anyways, other options!

hades tigers: only hermit teammate would be exil x, which is inherently a little hilarious. anyways these guys live in hell- not really. but they ARE fireproof!

mexico city wild wings: would make him teammates with hypno. all i really knew about the wings was spicy milk (exactly what it sounds like) and the time they tried to sue the entire league so. keep those facts in mind.

chicago firefighters: would make him teammates with tango. and also he would be a firefighter now. like, the profession. blaze joel afterlife smp likers i feel like this would appeal to you somewhat.

atlantis georgias: would make him teammates with xb. if he ends up on the georgias i'm turning him into a sea creature of some kind, so vote for what creature that is if you vote for this option.

philly pies: no hermit teammates here. all i remember about the pies off the top of my head is that they won the first two seasons of blaseball and then proceeded to never win a championship again.

new york millennials: would make him teammates with mumbo. and also housemates, because all the millennials live in an infinite apartment together, which feels appropriate for magic mountain. i could also make him pink here. however putting him on the mills would require me to type millennials more often, which is a word i cannot ever spell. would you do that to me? (/j)

seattle garages: would make him teammates with joe. one large band. if joel joins the garages i will be making him play the drums, of course. also i'll need to decide which garages song(s) i think he wrote.

dallas steaks: would make him teammates with beef. i don't know if i trust joel at a grill enough for this but i also don't know if i don't trust him.

san fransisco lovers: would make him teammates with ren (team captain), skizz, and wels. wow you've found one of the hermit hot spots. anyways this would put him in a medieval-themed, team-wide polycule.

core mechanics: would make him teammates with doc and keralis. i do think this would be an extremely funny trio. these guys live in the core of the world and build cool robots and things.

hellmouth sunbeams: would make him teammates with impulse. the moab desert fell into a hellmouth in season 1, so all the beams are Weird now. joel joining the beams would also make him Weird.

houston spies: would make him teammates with pearl. netty and jimmy were also spies before they died but idk if that'll be relevant to joel idk when i'm inserting him into these teams. anyways top secret escapades on the spies. also they have a secret base on the moon.

miami dale: would make him teammates with scar. the dale are the party time capital of the world and were the last team to ever make the playoffs, qualifying for the first time in SEASON FIFTEEN OF TWENTY FOUR. they never won an internet series but that's less of an accomplishment.

la unlimited tacos: would make him teammates with grian. the tacos tried to do a strike against god one time (it didn't work out but i respect the commitment)

boston flowers: no hermit teammates here. this was my team when blaseball was running and it would make me happy to put a hermit on it but it doesn't feel right for joel unfortunately. i can be convinced, however.

ohio worms: would make him teammates with wormman (aka zedaph in a disguise) and be coached by tfc. the worms are worms. they're in the dirt. self explanatory.

hawai'i fridays: would make him teammates with bdubs. this is also esmp 1 joel's team in the empires au which isn't relevant but is a fun fact (esmp 2 joel is on the lovers). the fridays have a cool goddess and good vibes. except for that time they all died. don't worry they got better.

canada moist talkers: would make him teammates with etho. i don't know if joel could survive in the cold but maybe i'm wrong maybe he'd be fine. maybe he's withstand it just to stake his claim as #1 ethogirl.

charleston shoe thieves: would make him teammates with cub and jevin. would also (maybe) make him get cursed by god but don't worry about that part, worry about the thieves guild he's joining.

baltimore crabs: would make him teammates with helsknight only. also inherently hilarious. this is the divorcee zone also there's a long dead crab goddess in the chesapeake and if you join the crabs parts of your body will slowly turn into crab. we have fun in baltimore.

Y'know, I really didn't like school festivals. Partially because all the ones I've attended so far had an Overblot occur, but they were also just boring in general. Especially those end of the year ones. Like the one I was attending at that very moment.

The whole island was jazzed up for the joint school festival, and I was just sitting on the bench in the square doodling.

"Oi, prefect!" I looked up from my notebook, flower doodles littering the otherwise blank page, to see Ace and Deuce walking towards me. When I saw the large book in the formers hand, I raised a brow.

"What's that?" I asked, closing my notebook and setting it down. One of Grim's ears twitched as the pair came and sat on the bench on either side of me, and he moved to Deuces lap when Ace passed me the book.

"It's the sage island yearbook." Deuce explained simply. "This is your copy, Ace and I already signed it." I hummed with a smile, opening the book.

I was a part of that years yearbook committee as a photographer because of the ghost camera Crowley gave me. Most, if not all, the pictures of NRC and its students were taken by me, and I got some good ones at RSA as well, there was this end of year dance thing being hosted there and a bunch of NRC students went.

"Oh awesome, thanks for bringing it over." I expected that to be the end of it, but both Ace and Deuce had a little grimace on their faces. I sighed "Okay, what happened?"

"You should see for yourself." Ace stated gravely, flipping to the student hall of fame pages.

All the students and staff in both schools could vote for random things like 'most introverted' or 'teachers pet' or 'most likely to commit a crime and get away with it'(My Idea) stuff like that.

I quickly understood why Ace and Deuce were acting so...odd. one of the categories was 'Most Beautiful' and instead of one of the two Actors you'd expect to see. My name and picture were there.

It was a good picture, thankfully.

"Oh, that's what happened." I said plainly, a little in shock. "Have either of them even..."

"Vil Senpai hasn't gotten one yet. I'm not sure about Neige." Deuce said confidently. I waved my hand at the mention of Neige.

"That's fine, Neige isn't who I'm worried about." I hummed nonchalantly, looking at the other people in the hall of fame pages. Iida got 'most introverted', some RSA student got 'teachers pet', and Epel got 'Most likely to commit a Crime and get away with it' which made me laugh a bit.

He could, and would, pull that off. Depending on the crime anyway.

"Hey you know what this means?" Ace perked up, a grin on his face. "This means that a majority of students and staff I both schools think that you're prettier than both Neige and Vil!"

"Yeah, I noticed." I sighed out. "And I do not want that, Vil gets homicidal when he's jealous."

"Ah, Prefect." I froze, looking up to see Vil approaching, yearbook and a cloth pencil case in arm. "Just who I was hoping to see."

"Hi Vil Senpai." I greeted calmly, closing my yearbook and standing up, putting my yearbook on top of my doodle book after it had fallen from where I wedged it. "Something I can do for you?"

"I was wondering if you could sign my yearbook." He mused, holding it and the bag out to me casually. "I have plenty of to choose from."

Taking the two items from him, I opened the bag to see a variety of different colours and styles of pens.

"Only if you sign mine." I smiled, picking up the, admittedly heavy, book with my free hand and passing it to him. He took it with a smirk.

Luckily, there was a table nearby that we could put the books on to sign them better. I picked out a sparkly purple gel pen and jotted down a little note. I didn't want to take up too much space, since there were probably a lot of people wanting to sign his.

"Just because you're the Villian of someone else's story, doesn't mean you can't be the Hero of others."

Signing my name with a little flourish at the end, I closed Vils yearbook, and we swapped them back once he was done with mine.

And of course, this is when Neige popped by with his own yearbook, asking both Vil and I to sign it. Vil begrudgingly agreed, but handed it to me first. I took the book and switched my purple out for red.

"Be the Hero for whoever you can, even if that means stepping out of the spotlight."

By the time I had finished writing my little note and singing my name, I found that my yearbook was being passed around by my other NRC friends, everyone wanting to sign it. Ace, Deuce, and Grim had wondered off somewhere, probably a food stall.

"Say, Prefect." Vil started out, holding his yearbook under his arms while everyone was using his pens for my book. "What are you going to do now that the year is over?

"I... don't know, honestly." I answered plainly. "I'm not sure if Crowley would be willing to let me stay over the summer. Especially not since Grim has to go to that rehabilitation centre for the summer break after...well, you remember."

Judging by the face Vil made, he did indeed remember.

"Oh well, we can't have that!" Neige piped up, claping his hands together cutely. "You can stay with me for the summer!

"Um, Absolutely Not." I sighed at Vils immediate interjection. "The Prefect barely even knows you. They'll stay with me."

"And be stuck on their own? I respect you, Vil Senpai, but you're always working. If they come with me, they'll at least get to have some fun!" Neige countered, grinning. "Honestly Senpai, you need to learn how to take a vacation."

I sat back down on the bench, grabbing my notebook and flipping it to a clean page as the two Actors got lost in their 'my horse is bigger than your horse' like bickering. I pulled my pencil out from behind my ear and leaned back with a small smile.

"Oh geez, what's goin on here?" Epel walked over to me, my yearbook in hand, and sat down next to me.

"Oh, they both invited me to stay and their place for the summer and now they're arguing." I explained simply. Epel let out an amused chuckle and leaned back, my yearbook resting in his lap.

"Hey if you don't wanna deal with either of em you can always spend the summer with me. MeeMaw would loveta see you again." I giggled and nodded at Epels suggestion, it had been a long while since I spent a summer of a farm. "How long do you think they're gonna go at it for?"

"Who knows at this point."

The answer: Long enough for me to sketch them, steal a black inking pen from Vils bag to ink that with, and for me to go buy quality art pencils from a booth an RSA student set up And colour it.

I don't know if people really understand the effect simple things have on others. As a fanfiction author, yes I write my weird little stories for myself, but once you get a comment or a kudos or a vote or whatever it may be, everything sort of shifts.

It gains a sense of responsibility yes, but it also gains a new excitement. For example, we've all been that little kid scribbling away with a crayon. We're going to do other similar crayon drawings, but nothing feels as good as showing that little picture to your parent, guardian, or whoever else. I and the other authors/artists are that little kid with the crayon drawing.

If you leave a comment, I will always remember that. Even if it's just 'good chapter.' or 'im about to commit murder 😃🔪' or '❤️❤️❤️'. Authors and artists remember these things!! If you are one of the people who leave essay comments, I have to sit down and take a minute to calm down enough to have a coherent reply. You dear friend, are wonderful.

If you keep coming back or leave multiple comments, I REMEMBER YOU!! I may even consider you a fandom friend or in Tumblr language, a mutual! I see you!!!!!

If you make art, or a story of your own, or make a translation,,,,,, I would die for you. I save the art. I look at it. I downloaded it to my camera roll and favorite it. I read your fic. I comment on it as well. I recommend your translation in the authors note because that may be more convenient for people to read.

I try to express just how much it means to me that you did any of the above things especially the things in the last paragraph. The words don't word. I end up going, "I absolutely love it!!!!!!!!" And "jteaykrsktrsotaptd" and it doesn't work. Well, not entirely. That may send the message across mostly. You see that on your side of the screen and on my side, you would see me pacing, talking to myself about how wow that is amazing and so sweet and oh my heck I would die for you, and doing a weird jazz hands thing and putting my hand over my heart, and sitting down because I need a minute-, and I never forget.

It makes me want to do so much more. It makes me love my weird little creation that much more and grants motivation. I ALWAYS remember. And I think about it all the time. And when I post more I think, 'oh, I hope this meets their expectations and I hope they like it!!' And 'wow I'm getting better at this, I wonder if they noticed?' And 'wow I love and appreciate you so much!'

Even if it's a little thing, it means the world to us little crayon drawing people.

A Somewhat Lengthy Introduction

This is my first time ever posting on Tumblr (better late than never, am I right?), so bear with me on this one.

Welcome to my fan account!

This is where I post pretty much anything that comes to mind fandomwise.

Here’s some basic information about me:

- Because “That One Fan Account” would be a really long name to type out, feel free to call me “A”.

- My pronouns are she/her

- I’m 19 years old

- ...That- That’s it.

Anyway, here’s a list of every fandom you may see me post about that I can think of off the top of my head:

Harry Potter

I’ve read all the books, seen all the movies (exempt The Secrets of Dumbledore) and I’ve been to the Wizarding World in Universal a fair few times (all pre-covid of course). The only thing I haven’t done is watch The Cursed Child live.

Since the Cursed Child era has so much hidden potential (in my opinion), most of what I post from this fandom will be from that side of things (because posting any headcanons and whatnot from the Marauder/Golden Trio era would require an abundance of research about 70s/90s trends that I have little to no time to do).

DISCLAIMER: Despite HP being a huge part of my life, I promise I do not claim JKR or her transphobia. Trans Women are Women. Trans Men are Men. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

Big Brother

US: I’ve seen a bit of 16, plus all of every season from 17 onward, though I am aware of iconic events such as Dan’s Funeral, Keesha’s Birthday, “Floaters grab a life vest”, etc.

CAN: I’ve seen a bit of 3, plus all of every season from 4 onward, though I am aware of iconic events such as Ika’s letter shredding, Topaz’s vote, etc.

I’ve seen all three seasons of CBBUS.

Survivor

US: I’ve seen seasons 32, 34, 38 and 40, but I have been following the events of 41 onward on social media.

The Challenge

I only just got into The Challenge and the CBS spin off will end up being the first season I watch (I don’t have Paramount+, so unfortunately, All Stars 3 is off the table).

DISCLAIMER: Despite Big Brother being my favourite TV show, I did not get into The Challenge because of the BB houseguests on it. Trust me, if I did, my first season would’ve been Vendettas. I figured I’d make that clear since the fandom doesn’t seem too fond of the BB players and I’d rather not get crapped on.

Hell’s Kitchen

I’ve only seen seasons 17, 19 and 20 thus far, but I’m planning on watching consistently from here on in (IDK why I didn’t watch 18. I guess I kinda just missed it LOL).

I’m also into musicals!*

*knowledge may vary depending on musical.
