What gets me about arguments that state Eloise is being a bad friend to Pen is that they both were engaging in secret activities that let them rebel against society's conventions and also put their families at risk. But Pen as Whistledown is celebrated and Eloise going to lectures and befriending Theo is somehow transgressive.
Marina trapping Colin into marriage was bad. Eloise meeting secretly with Theo is bad. Eloise seemingly friends with Cressida is unforgivable.
But Pen outing Marina's pregnancy (a woman who had the least amount of power than anyone in the Ton) is good, even if it leaves her open to public ridicule. Pen outing Eloise as a political radical is good because it "saves" Eloise, even if it leaves her open to public ridicule. Pen continuing to write as Whistledown is good, although she is now well aware of how much it can get her family in trouble with the Queen herself, because....why?
Other women can face the consequences of their actions because they supposedly deserve it, but Pen can continue to engage in even riskier behavior in secret, protect herself from facing no public ridicule for it, and Eloise is wrong to be angry and bitter about any of it. Her befriending Cressida is somehow worse than anything Pen has done. And if Colin finds out about Pen's secret, he's supposed to be fully supportive of her, too, or else he's wrong. That doesn't make a damn bit of sense.

In episode 1 of season 5, "Arthur's Bane," Arthur tells Merlin:
"No matter what adversity we face, we stand for what is right. To betray our beliefs, Merlin, that...is what will destroy everything we've strived for."
I just noticed on my rewatch that here Arthur is literally predicting 'Arthur's Bane.' The reason Arthur dies is because Merlin betrays his own beliefs. He stops standing for what is right and is driven by desperation and fear to keep Arthur alive, which is ultimately what kills him.
This is especially what happens in the 'Disir' episode. Merlin betrays himself by saying "Magic has no place in Camelot" to ensure Morded dies, but in a twist of fate Mordred miraculously survives and magic is still condemned. And when Merlin alerts Arthur when Mordred's girlfriend escapes from the cells, leading to her death, that is also when he betrays himself and 'what is right,' and that is exactly what leads Mordred to seek revenge on Arthur.
This is Merlin's problem. He has been burdened with too much knowledge about the future that he inadvertently brings about that future the more he tries to intervene. In comparison with Arthur, who makes decisions based on what is right, not about what will happen. He puts his values first and handles the consequences later because he has no knowledge of any prophecies.
The above quote by Arthur is exactly what makes Arthur a good king and is also why Merlin fails in the end.

no because im rewatching season 1 and i know this doesn’t follow lokis “glorious purpose” arc, but damn i kind of wish sylvie was the one on the throne at the end of time instead of loki. Since she killed HWR and essentially summoned infinite timelines, shouldn’t she atleast follow through and take up the responsibility of carrying out this desire?? See i understand life isnt fair but man rewatching s1e6 and seeing Loki begging her to consider the circumstances they’re in, i feel that glorious purpose shouldve been sylvies cause in a way she represented the people like her who had their lifes stolen by the TVA. Lokis whole gist was not wanting to be alone while sylvies was to escape everyone and everything, and look where they are now.
Not only that but Sylvie is Loki, therefore having the power that Loki has. It wouldn’t exactly be impossible for her to hold the timelines together. Realistically though Sylvie has been through enough suffering all her life and I wouldn’t want to do that to her. But do I want Loki to suffer the consequences of her ill-thought actions? absolutely not. I feel Loki was willing to accept the pain of his past and be a better person while Sylvie took hers and turned it into revenge.

so i really love whenever you call mulder & scully best friends. wanna talk about your top 5 favorite moments of their friendship?
DO I EVER
1/ little green men
Tumblr media
they have a secret code. they have their own language.
when mulder gets to his desk that morning, the photo of samantha is tipped over, and he knows that this means to meet scully at the watergate. which, first of all, is unbelievably dorky. these two work in the same building. these two have cell phones.
but they have been split up and reassigned and it is not a phase you guys it is the end of the world!!!!
when he arrives in the parking garage, he asks what she wants, and she responds, "to know that you're alright."
they have a secret code and their own language and for nothing more than to check in.
Tumblr media
(shoutout to the depression hair era, they are so funny for both getting bangs the moment they were separated. that's how you know things are really bad for the girlies.)
when he sinks down to the floor and tells her the george hale story, she crouches down next to him, listens, tells him not to give up.
you can tell that it makes her uneasy to see him defeated, to see him doubting himself and what he believes in. she's almost trying to convince him of aliens in that moment, telling him that he's seen so much and reminding him of samantha. trying to spark something in him.
Tumblr media
they have a secret code, they have their own language, and when he leaves town, he buys the plane ticket under a name that only she will recognize. she cracks his computer password in three tries.
earlier, after skinner questions scully, he tells CSM that she's telling the truth, she really doesn't know where mulder is. "because if she knew, she wouldn't be so worried about him."
they aren't as hard to decipher as they want to believe.
Tumblr media
PAUSE!!!!! this is the cuntiest thing he's ever done. the sunglasses, the denim, the boots, the dangerous lack of exit strategy...anyway
Tumblr media
she interprets his clues, she follows without obligation, they go back together. hand in his hair, not giving up, just like she started the episode.
Tumblr media
in the end, they have nothing. the hail mary trip resulted in empty tables and silent tape recordings.
one thing i didn't notice until i rewatched this one the other day is that it's not when he says "i still have you" that she takes his hand.
it's when he switches the tape from the record of his failed excursion to his actual assignment, hours of listening to slimy men talk about strippers.
she listens with him for a moment before shaking her head, and squeezing his hand. she does understand that this isn't what he wants to be doing, and that it's disheartening.
2/ tooms
Tumblr media
i could list every season one episode here. i could do a whole other post just about season one. i could do a whole other post just about season one, and include every episode. but i guess i will settle for this one.
this is my favorite season, and this is my favorite MSR.
Tumblr media
him waving the pine tree air freshener in her face when she said he smells 😭😭😭
Tumblr media
squeeze was all about the choice between climbing the ladder and the "out there" but "good" work of the basement, with all of the ridicule and consequence that come with it.
its sequel episode is about the aftermath of that decision, what it means to choose the side of the victim, to stop reaching for personal success.
Tumblr media
(this shot is so beautiful, her face through CSM's smoke)
tooms opens with scully in a negative performance review, skinner (in his very first scene!! we love you skinman) going over her reports, CSM lurking in the corner.
the two share a look, then warn scully against having too much of an open mind, telling her that it is her "responsibility to see that these cases are by the book"
"by the book" becomes the theme of the episode, with the phrase repeating multiple times throughout.
Tumblr media
this isn't the first time that the show has explored this topic, with young at heart also centering a debate of “by the book” protocol, what it really means, and who it really serves. ending with this final dialogue:
SCULLY: Mulder, I know what you did wasn't by the book.
MULDER: Tells you a lot about the book, doesn't it?
Tumblr media
“by the book” isn’t an easy order to follow when you have a partner who doesn’t believe in it, and you aren’t sure you do either.
it’s not an easy order to follow, for the navy captain’s daughter who worships authority.
Tumblr media
she does try though, and she's initially frustrated with mulder's behavior in the case. she tells him that he "sounded so....." at the trial, and she's reluctant to pursue his methods without approval from the bureau.
Tumblr media
ultimately, when she comes to bring mulder something to eat on his unauthorized stakeout, she tells him that what he's doing is not proper surveillance protocol, and he good-naturedly accuses her of peddling "the book."
she responds, "this is not about doing it by the book, this is about you not having slept for three days." and tells him that he is inevitably going to get hurt.
to her, it's not about following the rules or pressure from the bureau or respecting authority, it's about making sure he's okay.
Tumblr media
when she tells him to go home, that she'll take over the stakeout, he smiles and shakes his head (it's almost the same look that he gives her years later in redux ii, when she tells him to lay it all on her. just less tears.)
and i know that we tend to focus on the next part of this scene, but this line stands out to me too, as he declines because he doesn't want her to get "in trouble."
he doesn't want her to break the rules or disobey authority, and he still believes she'll be head of the bureau someday.
Tumblr media
it kinda makes me teary, this stupefied look on his face at her response. when she looks at him unflinching and says, "mulder, i wouldn't put myself on the line for anybody but you."
they are so kind to each other. they really don't care about official reprimands in files or welfare protocols; they each just want the other to get some rest, to have a bright future.
Tumblr media
he relents, allows her to take over, on the condition that she calls "if anything happens. immediately. i'll be here." and suggests she catch the sports talk radio show
Tumblr media
she bends down to give him one last smile and eye roll as she exits the car
Tumblr media
and makes a joke to herself while walking back to her own. best best best friends.
3/ tempus fugit
Tumblr media
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR SPECIALAGENTDANAKATHERINESCULLYYYYY
what better way to celebrate life than annoying the hell out of your best friend on her birthday?
the way he clearly gave the waiters her name and this snowball and sparkler and sang "special agent dana katherine scully" while they all sang "happy birthday dana" is one of his most embarrassingly extra moments and it never fails to make me laugh
Tumblr media
she rolls her eyes at him, but the way she stares when he's not looking says so much. they both know why this year gets sparklers and song when last year didn't. they both know there might not be a next year.
Tumblr media
he's literally never been more irritatingly overjoyed lmao. and he brought presents! ("oh, you've got to be kidding me" "just something that reminded me of you")
he said "i didn't know it was your birthday, scully!" with a wrapped gift in his pocket, always prepared with a smile and a cover story
Tumblr media
he does this same thing in memento mori, after getting the call to come to the hospital, when his first words of the episode are "i stole these from some guy with a broken leg down the hall. he won't be able to catch me." about the flowers we watched him come through the front doors holding
he clearly puts thought into these gestures, but everything is so fragile. neither of them are comfortable with what too much sincerity would mean, how limited it all is.
Tumblr media
but they find little ways to give to each other anyway, they hang out in bars and roll their eyes and discuss the meaning behind a keychain.
if this is the last birthday, maybe it's worth a little vulnerability (and annoying song and dance), that he did it up right.
4/ one breath
Tumblr media
another Mulder Gift™️ entry. god, the sweetness here is just overwhelming. he is so strange and tries so hard.
this whole scene is one of my favorites of the series, but i love this little moment so much.
it's so inadequate, in the end. to see someone that you thought you'd lost, your most important person, who was gone for so long, and have nothing more to give them than a shitty VHS sports tape.
but what else can you do? he's so quiet and self-conscious in this moment. he raced to the top of mountains and stood on broken cable cars and choked a man and wore her necklace around his neck for months and wept on the floor. he had the strength of her beliefs, and he prayed. he held her hand by her bedside after they pulled the plug.
so much goes unsaid between them, because how can you say it in words? how can you do anything but smile and buy something stupid at the gift shop?
Tumblr media
she makes a joke while he smiles at the floor, but it's not a joke, not really. he's there and he's giving her whatever he can and he's cracking jokes, and she knew there was a reason to live. that's it right there.
5/ detour
Tumblr media
GO, GIRL!
this is a best friends episode. this is a "we survived that hospital and we refuse to spend our one wild and precious life at the annual FBI teamwork seminar, if you need us, we'll be lost in the forest" episode.
Tumblr media
look at her trying not to laugh while he's making sarcastic comments at her in the backseat. can you imagine carpooling with these two? they are forever passing notes and whispering behind backs.
Tumblr media
she is not making it to the teamwork seminar. she is not getting her wine and cheese, either. she is looking for mothmen in western florida.
they think they're so much better than that communication exercise, just to make vague innuendo in a motel room.
they tell each other all about native species and how ticks can halt their metabolism and the livestock that was killed in a town 30 years ago. she teases him about his filing system.
neither of them tire of bashing the hell out of that teamwork seminar.
Tumblr media
they talk about death. about searching for meaning in life. about which flintstones character they relate to the most. they swap dirty jokes.
she fusses over his grave injury (a dislocated shoulder) and holds him. sings to him so that he'll know she's still there.
a few years down the road, she'll sing that same song to their baby, on one of her last days with him. she'll sing to him about this night, about his dad, about her favorite memories.
sitting there together in that forest in florida, they have already started to carry the weight of near-misses. of lost time, of almosts, of purposeful disease.
they have come a long way and taken on a lot, in the years since the parked car outside tooms' house and the garage at the watergate.
but they have yet to be separated longer than 90 days. they have yet to lose a child. they have yet to plan funerals and prison breaks.
there's something about that time, that ability to just sit in the woods and talk about everything, looking for mothmen, that is so precious and so special.
and when she tells him that night that she had struggled to find meaning, that's where it is.

A friendly reminder to everyone who’s complaining about the Bad Batch leaving Crosshair on Kamino at the end of season 1...
**Slight season 2 spoilers ahead**
Wrecker: “Are you coming with us?”
Crosshair: “None of this changes anything.”
Hunter: “You offered us a chance, Crosshair. This is yours.”
Crosshair: “I made my decision.”
This is the actual dialogue from the season 1 finale. It was Crosshair’s choice to not leave with the Bad Batch. They wanted him to come with them and offered twice in that moment to take him back.
Crosshair refused. Twice.
He 👏 Made 👏 His 👏 Choice!!
The Bad Batch didn’t leave him out of spite. They left because Crosshair made the choice to stay loyal to a regime that unfortunately doesn’t give a damn about him. It was that choice that led to him being left on that platform on Kamino for 32 rotations waiting for the Empire to get him. Which even then, Tech had said in the finale that the Imperial forces were on their way, which was why they had to leave quickly. I’m sure they assumed someone would get Crosshair after they left. They had no way of knowing that he’d be left there for as long as he said. That’s not their fault. Crosshair couldn’t have known either (despite the fact Hunter repeatedly gave him examples of how little the Empire actually cared about him) so that’s not his fault either.
It’s like what Commander Cody said: “We make our own choices and we have to live with them, too.” That’s what Crosshair is learning right now.
The fact remains: it was not the Bad Batch’s fault that this happened. They gave Crosshair every opportunity to make a better choice and to go with them. He made his choice and elected not to. That falls on him, not his brothers. I’m in no way trying to villainize Crosshair or saying everything is his fault; he’s made mistakes (chipped or not). I’m just pointing out the conscious choices he’s made and the consequences that have come with them.
So to everyone who’s still mad about the Bad Batch leaving him behind on Kamino and acting like they’re the villains here, we’re clearly not watching the same show and you might need a rewatch...because, to quote Tech: “I thought it was obvious.”

So, I started rewatching Community after a year or two and wow, I forgot so many things about this show:
Jeffannie started in season 1 during that debate episode and this makes me feel even more icky. Somehow I thought that this ship started at the end of season 1/beginning of season 2.
Jeffannie is so uncomfortable for me to watch. Not only is the age gap creepy, Annie is presented as this innocent girl while Jeff is Jeff. And yeah, as the series progresses, Annie matures but she's still so young and has her whole life ahead while Jeff is 40 and stuck at Greendale
Britta in season one was the best because she wasn't dumbed down and exaggerated. She had the same flaws as in later seasons (like her lack of real activism, terrible choice of boyfriends, being uncool etc.) but those flaws were believable and toned down to fit the rest of characters. I miss Britta
I forgot that they made Pierce horrible in season 2 onwards so it was a shock. In season one he has more redemptive moments
I miss season one and two of community the most. The show was still somewhat grounded and it made me think of my own college experiences (anthropology as shown in community was basically 80% of my real classes)
Senior Chang > any other Chang BUT that one episode of Guard Change is top ten for me ("Arizona backwards is Arizona!")
Abed was terrible to Troy in some episodes in season 3 (Blanket fort episode, stars doppelgangers episode) and doesn't face consequences/learn a lesson/start to appreciate Troy more. I like Abed but it still pisses me off
I feel that as the show progressed it was less about the main 7 and more about Annie and Jeff which sucks and I hate it
Also, Jeffbritta was the best. Are they toxic? Yes. Do they understand each other on a deep level and always help each other when needed? Also yes. I loved their bickering in the show and I always liked their little moments.
I forgot that Dean's Dalmatian fetish started in season one and progressed throughout the story
Paintball episodes are meh for me. Yes, all of them
"If loving worms is stupid then I don't want to be smart!" "It is and you can't!" I love this little exchange.
Idk, I noticed that sometimes some characters from main 7 appeared for like 1 minute in the whole episode. I know that you can't always have episode with all of them equally on the screen but idk it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Like the election episode which is basically all about Jeff and Annie. Pierce has like 5 lines and all are horrible, Troy and Abed are reduced to being announcers, Britta and Shirley basically don't exist (Britta also goes on stage and is ridiculed)
Idk they could have done more with Shirley
I also like the friendship between Britta and Shirley, the anarchist and atheist being friends with devoted Christian has so much potential
I was never fan of Troy and Britta together
Idk, on one hand Trobed is fine, but on the other hand showing a deep and profound friendship like that is also fine. I'm ok with both
Ass crack bandit song slaps and I love it
Out of all of the main seven, I don't like Annie the most (after season 2 onwards Pierce ofc). And I honestly can't tell if I don't like her that much because of the personality or because of her ship with Jeff

I 👏 just 👏 noticed 👏 something 👏 that 👏 destroyed 👏 my 👏 sanity 👏 even 👏 more 👏 and 👏 I'm 👏 taking 👏 you 👏 down 👏 with 👏 me 👏
Now you remember Season 2 Episode 3 when Mr Dalrymple asks Aziraphale and Crowley what's in the jar ?
Well we've all clearly seen how Aziraphale reacts upon learning that the boy is dead : bringing the jar to his chest, looking distraught, all of this emphasized by the music. Exactly what you would expect from an angel, a being of love, who finds it deeply unjust that a poor innocent boy had to die in such a horrible way.
Now after many rewatch of the series (not even counting anymore) I tend to focus less on the middle of the screen and look for other stuff in the background.
And what got me is this :
Tumblr media
1 - Aziraphale instinctively looking at Crowley for comfort.
2 - Crowley's freaking hand reaching for more alcohol because he too cannot stand what he's hearing and he also needs a way to find comfort. He's disgusted and sad. No more jokes. Innocent children are dying.
And he can't stand that, we've known this for a long time, since the Ark.
Not. The. Children.
That's why he's not joking when he later says 'Too late.' to Aziraphale when the angel fails to save Wee Morag. If his angel wants to break the rules in order to save a dying child, he's not mocking him. He's supporting him. Not because Aziraphale is breaking the rules but because it's a sacrifice that could have grave consequences and he's willing to do it for what he thinks is a good cause.
That's why when Elspeth wants to kill herself, he drinks the fatal dose of laudanum and orders her to live. He cannot stand the idea of children dying so soon, their future being robbed from them.
Maybe it's because it's unnatural that parents live to bury their children, or maybe it's because Crowley's dreams were crushed so soon in his life and he just doesn't want to see it happening to others, because he knows how it feels to lose everything.

Rewatching Favourite Scenes:-
The Crown 4x10 – Grotesque Misalliance
Finishing up our favourite scenes from The Crown with one of the very best of the whole show: the brutally honest breakdown of Charles and Diana’s marriage.
History told us it would come to this. By the 1990’s, the royal couple’s infamous issues and infidelities were labelled as the “War of the Waleses” by the press.
The fight got ugly before the Prince and Princess succumbed to divorce; it was eventually revealed both Charles and Diana had tried to manipulate media coverage.
The whole of Season 4 builds up to this royal belter of a confrontation. The Crown introduces us to teenage Diana in episode 1, played with skill and sincerity by Golden Globe winner Emma Corrin. Young Diana is charming but naïve; overwhelmed by her own popularity. She later finds purpose campaigning for humanitarian causes.
Charles is viewed less sympathetically as he rejects his superstar bride – with a touch of jealousy. Josh O’Connor won an Emmy for his impressive slow-burn performance as Charles, the prince of suppression, finally loses control, railing against his wife as well as the crown. Placing love before duty. Pursuing his affair despite consequences.
The audience knows what's coming next; Charles will ultimately marry Camilla. He and Diana will never reign supreme. But The Crown continues to make us care about all the people at the heart of the story, even as we may brace for impact.
Diana's story concludes in the THE CROWN S6 PT I:- premieres THIS WEEK on Netflix | Thurs 16th Nov 2023

Okay, not to be obsessed with the final episodes of The Bad Batch, but there are some thoughts that keep nagging at my brain about the debate over "who is CX-2" and I must spew them forth.
I totally get why some people don't like it when SW characters come back from the dead and I agree it should never be done frivolously. That said, I'm scratching my head about the opinion that Tech should not be CX-2 and he should stay dead because his character arc was perfectly wrapped up with his sacrifice to save his Batch family. To this I say: Really? How so?
I could understand and agree with this take if Tech had always held back in dangerous situations and he never wanted to risk himself until he finally stepped up in that moment to save the others--but I recently rewatched all the TBB episodes (as well as the initial arc from TCW), and this has never, ever been the case. Tech is almost always the one literally out there with his ass hanging in the wind or directly in the line of fire while his mind and fingers race to bring the power online, or download the vital data, etc., so the others can move forward. Notable examples include the Zillo beast episode in which Tech went all by himself to get the power online even when they all knew something horrible had killed the former crew, and in the mining episode, Tech dove in immediately to help Omega when she fell into the abyss. In other words, Tech has always been the opposite of a coward or one to step back to save himself.
So I really don't get what in the heck it supposedly changed or wrapped up for Tech's character arc when he executed Plan 99 to save his squad. I see ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Just like his sacrifice did absolutely nothing to save Omega from the Empire in the end. Is that really a worthy death for one of the Batch? Not in my book.
So what would be an impactful and meaningful character arc for Tech? Well, I'm 99.9% sure that what would be hardest for him to be subjected to (and hopefully endure in the end) is losing what makes him feel unique and special: aka his BRILLIANT MIND. And what more horrible, awful way for Tech to be tested and grow as a character than to have his beautiful mind hijacked by the Empire to further their own tyranny even as they pit him against his loved ones and everything they stand for.
I'm not saying Tech has to be revealed as CX-2, but so far it makes the most emotional and narrative sense based on all the breadcrumbs the writers are tossing at us along the way. Of course, CX-2 could be Cody and Tech is still in a vat on Tantiss while Hemlock experiments on taking over his mind to turn him into a CX as well. But the TBB series is about, well, the Batch, not Rex and Cody. Ergo, a Cody reveal wouldn't gut the Batch to their emotional core the way a Tech reveal would, so right now my money is still on Tech. It could be that Cody is being saved for something else up Filoni's sleeve.
Either way, if Tech's gifted mind has been sabotaged by the Empire, this seems like an actual character arc rather than having him die via a sacrifice that he would have made without hesitation going all the way back to Season 1. To quote Chopper: BLAH BLAH BLAH. In contrast, not only is a hijacked Tech deeply affected, it also generates significant emotional collateral damage to the Batch. Tech and all of his family/squad would have to struggle to deal with the consequences, such as whether or not he can even be saved and how much of the damage to his mind is permanent.
If Tech is alive and the Empire has done something like this to him, it is certainly possible the remaining episodes will not fully answer whether or not Tech is salvageable. After all, the SW writers had no problems with having Ezra Bridger and Thrawn vanish for years before we found out what happened, but I very much hope they won't leave us with this kind of cliffhanger again!
Anyway, my whole point is that the possibility that Tech is alive does not necessarily equate "ugh here we go again, no one in SW stays dead." A narrative choice by the writers to bring Tech back does not automatically erase deep and lasting consequences for either Tech or the rest of the Batch. Death is not the only way for characters to grow, and it seems to be used way more than it should be for this purpose in my humble opinion. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how the story concludes in the finale and whether the onscreen hints about Tech's possible not-dead state were simply red herrings.
As far as other character arcs go for the finale, all Omega has ever wanted from the very first show is to be part of her Batch brothers, to belong. So the most difficult test for her would be that the squad is finally reunited, but now she must leave them. It seems quite possible that her interactions with the Force sensitive children on Tantiss will make it clear that none of them will ever be remotely safe unless they find the few Jedi who are helping such children in the aftermath of the Purge. No doubt Ventriss would come back into play if this is the ending for Omega. In a happier ending, the Batch would go with Omega to continue to help rescue Force sensitive kids from the likes of Cad Bane, while Rex and Echo most likely continue helping clones.
I think Hunter will definitely have to choose to confront the Empire head on in a way he has always resisted to protect his squad. After all, Echo left the Batch to join Rex because he got tired of waiting for Hunter to come around to doing more to fight for their clone brothers, as well as others being hurt by the Empire. I only hope this doesn't cost Hunter his life, but if it does, THIS would be a sacrificial death that completes the character's arc.
Meanwhile, Crosshair's redemption arc is well under way and he continues to be one of the most interesting characters in the series. The best part of Season 3 for me has been Crosshair rejoining the Batch and I very much hope his curmudgeonly efforts to be a better person won't be the cause of his demise.
As for Wrecker, he has grown as a character over the series and no longer is just Mr. Boom Boom. He's showed a lot of street smarts dealing with the likes of Fennec in that Space Florida episode and he seems to look more before he leaps into the fray with his fists and weapons...although I do like the fact that Wrecker still enjoys opening up a can of whoop ass more than anything :)
Okay, so 3 more episodes to go and we'll see how much of what actually happens blows my essay today about Tech and the finale out of the water.

Discontinuity alert - let there be light!
So, welcome to the next instalment of my Good Omens metas where we look at some of the inconsistencies and discontinuities in Season 2! In a previous post, I brought attention to the issue of the disappearing cross on Gabriel's Statue and then also the Illustrated Bible. I have more to say about both of these, the book in particular, but that's for another time - because I think I've found something even more obvious!
A word of caution before we jump in - what I am about to share can have significant consequences for the season 2 plot. If you are averse to analyses that reinterpret the narrative of season 2, it might be better to skip this one. You have been warned.
RED ALERT EVERYONE - The scenes in good omens 2 may not have been in order and if you're new to this idea, please check out my previous post first. This has been my conclusion after the mounting evidence, but it's still possible there are other explanations - I just don't think they're very likely. So, FAIRY LIGHTS! Yes, that's right. While everyone has been picking through the details of every scene, what character is wearing, the road markings, the cars... how did we miss the fairy lights around Marguerite's restaurant??
For most of the show we can see these fairy lights, either as characters sit and stand in front of them, or through the windows of other shops.
The first time we see the fairy lights is in episode 1 as Maggie is leaving her record shop (around 13:18):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are so many shots with the fairy lights throughout the show that I won't exhaust you here to cover them all. However, to my knowledge they are always there until suddenly... huh?
Tumblr media
In episode 4 they disappear. We only get one Whickber street scene in episode 4 and it starts around 41:19 with Aziraphale standing next to the Bentley (presumably just returned from Edinburgh):
Tumblr media
Nina pulls up on her bike (around 41:27):
Tumblr media
Nina goes into her cafe, receiving bad text messages, and we see Aziraphale cut across the road (around 41:50):
Tumblr media
Then we cut to Crowley handing his plants to Aziraphale outside the bookshop (around 42:03... and we also hear a weird crash sound during this scene):
Tumblr media
While they load the plants in, the wall of Marguerite's is out of shot all the time.
However we then get this shot over Crowley's sholder and they aren't there (around 42:47):
Tumblr media
Ok, so they took the lights down from episode 4 onwards right?
Nope, they reappear immediately in episode 5 and stay there:
Tumblr media
Just like with Gabriel's Statue, if this was a continuity error, then someone was asleep on the job! But, no, the good omens team are all talented, amazing and they put their heart into this. Something as big as having these fairy lights off for episode 4 was done on purpose.
So, why? What does missing fairy lights tell us about this scene in episode 4? When the fairy lights aren't being shown on screen should we assume they are off or on?
Let the rewatching begin! (I sure will be.)
And there is more to come by the way... when I have time to write it down :)

so i put this in a reblog but i think it deserves its own post
i had an idea about the notes in the secret box scene, so i rewatched season 1 episode 5 to confirm that i was right about the timeline and i noticed some things, and i now have a theory as to who wrote the note outing the threesome.
the scene is meant for us to think spider's the one who wrote the one about the threesome, and why wouldn't we? seems like classic spider after all, and he's laughing, so that indicates guilt, right?
except spider was laughing about the previous note as well (probably because it just says foot).
it's highly likely that missy reading out the note about the threesome is the first spider knows about the threesome.
there's the conversation between harper and malakai earlier where they both mention that they were both pretty drunk when it happened and wanted to keep it a secret, so neither of them are spreading that around.
we know ant wrote the one about house music, so it's not him.
the one about the threesome was dusty.
my rewatch confirmed that dusty and harper's conversation about him being pissed off with harper for seeming more into malakai than him came after everyone finding out about the threesome, which supports my theory that spider could have found out about it at the same time as everyone else who didn't have the threesome. after all, the threesome made dusty feel inadequate, so why would he brag about it to his friends? dusty was upset with harper for "wanting [malakai] too much", and it's kind of his modus operandi to seek revenge by humiliating people without caring about the consequences or the other people that end up being collateral damage (trying to get with amerie at her party, plotting to falsely accuse jojo of being a sex offender to get out of SLTs which humiliated amerie in the process). putting that note in the box was him trying to get back at her.

Some moments in season 3 of Young Royals that stand out for me ep.4
Now, when I'm sharing with you my reactions, I can see that as the season went on, I calmed, so there wasn;t as much screaming and gasping after three first episodes. But also, I made 2h of a break before watching another 2 episodes. Also, the atmosphere in a season visibly changed. So here I'm talking about ep 1 and ep 2 and here ep 3. And here is episode 4 moments that made me burst in laugh, gasped, made me forgot how to breathe or wanted to puke.
Wille quoting Kristina
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I had so mixed feelings about it. I felt sorry for him, but I was also angry but also sad. It felt like arguing with my parents, and hearing them say some idioms or sayings, bc they are left out of logical arguments.
2. Jan-Olof and his advice
Tumblr media
I waited. I knew he will say something that will make my (and SImon's) blood boil.
Tumblr media
And he did.
3. Strike in Hillerska
Tumblr media
As a burnt out climate activist who were arrested by police for some non-violent action, I find it hilarious to see students of Hillerska doing sitting. The whole sequence was very funny too me and my friends with pretty similar background. As we have this experience in making strikes, we have to say that it wasn't very best way of preparing strike (the was not any preparing actually). This is not how you do it haha
4. Wille joining the strike bc he won't face any consequences
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Simon summed up Wilhelm here so well... And I love how Simon makes Wille hear what he's saying.
5. Getting more in Eriksson's family story
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This felt like very important information, and I like we keep digging in their family dynamics. Like - he wanted to have contact with Micke! I think it hits different bc we get to know something new about characters even though the series is ending and it's so surprising and doing things to me. Young Royals creators, why are you so genious?
6. Simon once again summing up
Tumblr media
I love this man.
7. This conversation
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This conversation happening in their window spot and as i was reminding my friend that they kissed there for the first time, the music from that moment started to play.
They needed to remind me I have to breath.
But the events made me somehow hungry too. But for more talk, which didn't happened, bc Simon cut it. I mean - instead of sayin "Me too" after Wille's "I don't want to hurt you" - he could talk more about how deleting his accounts made him feel. That day was clearly difficult for him from the moment it happened...
8. ...yet goofy Simon made me forgot for a minute about it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
happens
and I like this site of Simon from the season 1.
9. Those rich kids are crazy
Tumblr media
But we laughed loud, while watching it.
Tumblr media
Yeah, do exactly bc of what the school has problems o.O
10. Those sleepy puffy faces
Tumblr media
so smoll and tiny <3
11. Rosh & Ayub
Tumblr media
I will miss their trio
12. When August said what I left was comming since he spoke with Nils 2 episodes earlier.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I felt full.
I love this show.
I'm not ready for today. There won't be a post about ep5 bc it's still too much for me. I won't be rewatching it today before final episode.
I'm so grateful for this show. And the people that were involved in making it.
Sending love to them today.

Very tired of seeing Rick and morty fans trying to discount Rick stepping up to be a good grandfather and showing him as softer to be a weak narrative choice.
This isn't family guy, this is a narrative piece, actions DO have consequences in the world of Rick and Morty whether you agree with them or not.
Rick changing and becoming softer and caring isn't negative and people need to actually wake up and realise this, by showing us a version of Rick that cares it also gives plot devices like Rick Prime more weight. It shows that he's finally becoming comfortable and that he's capable of opening up.
He's not going to suddenly stop being badass, he's not going stop being a grouchy asshole and it's definitely not likely to cure his alcoholism but it makes him more than just an abusive depressed piece of shit.
By making him more human it shows that the show is moving away from catering to and making themselves relatable a dudebro audience who were using him as their little mouthpiece.
Tv shows change, characters change and if you don't like it it's okay, jump off the ride. Rewatch season 1 and just pretend it ends there and stop acting like it's a personal attack because Rick Sanchez decided he's had enough of being the fucking villain of his own story.

My current Link Click theory as of season 2 ep 3, brainstormed together with my mom:
I was always kinda sus about Lu Guang's background and only my rewatch of season 1 courtesy of introducing the series to my mom made me realize wait Cheng Xiaoshi's parents DIDN'T die in that earthquake he was just AFRAID that they did (and then he did kind of lose his "mom").
So. Now that we know these powers can be transferred. And assuming Red-Eyes is able to hold multiple powers (kinda BNHA One For All style) ...
And I always wondered why CXS never used or even discovered his photo powers before meeting LG ...
WHAT IF
Lu Guang gave Cheng Xiaoshi the Gold Eyes powers. Because he had them before (in conjunction with his Blue Eyes powers). Because maybe he used them before and CHANGED THE PAST WITH THEM.
Hence his adamant insistence not to change anything. Almost as if he knew the consequences.
And what if a consequence of that was the disappearance of Cheng Xiaoshi's parents?
Alternatively: Cheng Xiaoshi's parents had photo powers as well (hello, photo studio) and they just got stuck.

Dragons Rising season 2 Spoilers under the cut!!!!!! Be warned!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I haven't been this excited about Ninjago in FOREVER.
The writing in season 1 was already great but this season really stepped it up even more!!!
Dont get me wrong, I LOVE Ninjago and I have for years, but this season really has me looking back like
Tumblr media
It probably helps that I just finished a rewatch of the whole show and watching Crystallized and Dragons Rising back to back really highlights how much of an improvement we've gotten.
Ahem. Spoilers!
I feel like everyone got a chance to shine in this half of the season. Between last season and this one I FINALLY started caring about Kai again (I love him....he just hasn't been given much to do in ages). His and Wyldfyre's dynamic is adorable and wonderful and I need him to get out of the Netherworld AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (but not before he and Bonzle become besties).
Favorite parts of the season rapid-fire:
-ZANE CALLING COLE ADORABLE AND COLE SAYING HE'S ALWAYS ADORABLE HECK YEAH COLE YOU ARE🥰🥰🥰(he's been my number one for years)
-speaking of Cole! He and Geo are as close to canon as we're probably getting and while I am a lavashipper at heart, those two are so cute.
-Lloyd facing the consequences of his actions! (And there BEING consequences) and straight up saying that he has panic attacks because of his visions. I am such a sucker for Lloyd Angst and this season was full of it.
-NYA my girlfriend my fiancée my wife WOMAN THAT YOU ARE helping Kai achieve Rising Dragon and helping Lloyd with his vision trauma. Ninjago give her even more to do in Part 2 I'm not asking.
-Jay was there for 30 seconds and they missed him again!!!! I hope he gets a bigger role in Part 2. I really liked the crumbs they dropped though...he knows he doesn't belong where he is, he knows he has powers, he is scared to let anyone know.....excellent I just need MORE.
-I am So Worried about Arin but in a good way. Obviously in Part 2 he will find out about Sora using her powers to fake his object Spinjitzu and that will cause a rift in their friendship AND feed into his feelings of inadequacy AND I LOVE IT you can't have a Ninjago character without heaping piles of trauma and angst being piled onto them by the writers
-every time Kai acted like a dad is perfect. Every single time. I'm pretty sure he's like 30 now and it's about time he got a new kid to mentor (Lloyd's all grown up😭)
-Why is Cinder kinda fine??? I was not prepared for his English voice actor😭😭😭😭
-Cinder and Jordana's rivalry was hilarious and petty 10/10 no notes
I PROBABLY HAVE MORE THOUGHTS BUT IM BARELY COHERENT RN!!!!!!!!!
