One thing that actually made me really happy with this newest Bad Batch episode was that Tech acknowledged that they are a family.

I thought, when Omega said “We’re a family, aren’t we?”, that he was going to respond with a technical answer like he tends to do. Something along the lines of “Technically, families are composed of biologically related beings” or “We’re a squad, which is technically different from a family structure” or something that would convey that he maybe wouldn’t entirely understand the concept of a “found family” that Omega would have to explain.

But no, he said right out the gate, “Yes, of course, we are.” He even seemed a bit surprised that Omega even had to ask such a question.

I was so happy about that because, just knowing how literal/technical/logical Tech’s mind usually is, I had a feeling after seeing that shot of the two of them shown in a leaked trailer months ago that he wasn’t going to fully get it, but he did. Tech acknowledges that they are more than just a squad of Clones; they are indeed a family and he knows this. He assures Omega of this, that it’s not just her that sees them that way and I’m positive that Hunter, Wrecker and Echo also feel the same. Tech is just the first to say it aloud.

I’m a sucker for found family and I’m an even bigger sucker for this found family of misfit Clones that I love so freaking much!! 🥺💜

it’s occurring to me that we may get Crosshair being relieved and grateful for the Batch’s inevitable rescue attempt but we could also get him being absolutely furious when things undoubtedly go south for the Batch bc they literally always do bc the one thing he told them to do the one thing he risked his LIFE to tell them was HIDE and they couldn’t even do THAT like at this point if he survives he’s just going to find ANOTHER terrible cause to throw his heart into out of pure SPITE

The symbolism of this scene

This scene broke me for so many reasons. Omega is Hunter's light, she represents innocence. She is what Hunter never knew he needed until she was there, and now he can't bare to lose her. And now, after losing Tech and being unable to save Crosshair, Hunter already likely felt he failed as a leader. So he chose to go back to Pabu, to let Omega live out a normal childhood and for them to rebuild their lives away from the conflict they have always known. But then Omega gets taken. And not just by a bounty hunter, this is the empire. Such a mountainous foe that, at this point in time, has only just started to grow and is becoming stronger by the day. Hunter knows this, which is why this scene hits so hard. The light, Omega's light, getting more and more distant as Hunter can do nothing but stand there, helpless, as the empire takes another member of his family away. He steps backwards a few paces, almost as if he's trying to stay in the light before it goes completely, to hang on as much as he can because he can't bare to lose any more. But, in the end, he ends up in the darkness.

We don’t know exactly what records, but what does a red light usually mean? RECORDING!! WHATS THE RED LIGHT BY HIS GOGGLES??? DO HIS GOGGLES RECORD? IT WOULD MAKE SENSE! the red light is ON, which means it recorded everything that happened after he… so that means that they can see where Hemlock took Tech AND THEYLL GET HIM BACK!!!
