You two have been in the forest; for over twenty minutes you dealing with killing smaller or larger curses that frightened mushroom pickers or wild animals. You had a lot of fun doing it, all the time competing to see who killed more evil creatures. Of course, your boyfriend was winning so far, by three, but how could you know that some of them would come out of the forest litter, literally letting the white-haired man kill them all in a few seconds? Well, but at least you killed about twelve curses yourself, and that was a really nice result.

On the one hand, you enjoyed spending time with Gojou like that, because it was very rare for the two of you to be together on a mission, but on the other hand... It was the time of Christmas that you wanted to spend in your own home, surrounded by delicious food and desserts, hot wine or beer, loved ones, including your boyfriend’s cute students or your mutual friends. From a long time, that is, from the moment you became a sorcerer, you didn’t spend any holidays, birthdays or anniversaries as you would like. There was simply no time and energy for it because every day, apart from some Sundays, you worked to make life better for vulnerable people. It wasn’t a bad job, but sometimes... when you looking at ‘normal’ couples you envied their ignorance to the fact that some evil had appeared around them. You envied them that they could spend their free time together doing stupid things or relaxing in front of the TV.

So you sighed softly, raising the hand in which you held the small pocket knife. Small as your anti-curse tool was, it was also extremely effective and dangerous. Therefore, you cut the throat of one of the evil souls without any problems, thus defeating the last enemy.

“Ahhhh. Finally...! You’re not hurt, baby?” The young man said in a cheerful voice, and you shook your head in disapproval. Second later, you cleaned the little knife and then, hid it in one of the pockets of your black pants. “Would you like to get some hot chocolate and cake?”

“Huh? Have we finished all our work for today?” You asked in surprise, and the man just bit his lip with joy, putting his finger to his mouth after a while.

“Yes, although you forgot one thing, love.” You raised an eyebrow at his amused words. However, Satoru quickly got rid of your unawareness as soon as he raised his right hand and pointed at something above with his index finger. For a moment you were sure that he meant a curse that hadn’t been killed before, but as it turned out, it was mistletoe growing on one of the tall trees; you were surprised that during the fight he was able to additionally notice a small, green plant. Anyway, you just chuckled lightly as you stood on your tiptoes and tugged at the twenty-eight-year-old by his jacket.

You were happy that at least this one, very sweet Christmas moment could happen to you during the winter season. Thanks to this, these holidays weren’t so bad and devoid of spirit.

Every year there was a winter prom at your school; it was the third time for you, while for Saiko, who only joined your class this year, it was something new. Of course, he was skeptical about it from the start and generally discouraged by the very idea of ​​spending time with all PK Academy students, classmates and teachers. That’s why he immediately told you that if you want to go to the prom, he can arrange whatever prom you want; he literally said if you wanted Beyoncé he could call her.

But you just smiled warmly and said that school party is enough for you and you really like it. Thus, he bought a new, well-fitting and expensive suit – one that would fit perfectly with your delicate dress, which at the same time matches to the color of your shiny eyes. He also paid for new shoes, a watch, and a hairdresser visit, but even that couldn’t compare to your soft, natural blushes and the sweet facial expression you gave him when he came to your house with his butler.

“... You’re stressed?” You asked quietly as you sat in the car and he squeezed your little hand between his much larger ones.

“I’ve just never been at a prom... public... especially at school.” He muttered, and though he turned his head, you could see a hint of blush on his nose and both cheeks. So you chuckled lightly as you cuddled up against his shoulder.

“I’m pretty sure you’ll like it.”

The school hasn’t changed much; only a few holiday decorations have been added here and there. However, the gymnasium took your breath away because it was magically decorated. But before you had time to take your seats on the other side of the door, your physical education teacher stopped the two of you.

“Couples enter after payment.” Mr. Matsuzaki said, and the Santa Claus hat on his head added to the charm of his muscular figure.

Of course, Saiko was already taking out his wallet, but you quickly stopped it, pointing in a specific direction. It was, obviously, the smol mistletoe, which was the aforementioned entry ticket for couples who decided to show up at the ball together. So you smiled slightly at your boyfriend and he looked at you confused.

“What is it?”

“O-Oh, you never kissed under the mistletoe?”

“Kissing under it has any meaning?” He asked, still surprised, and you just moved closer to his face, stealing a short, really sweet kiss.

“It’s a tradition, love. You have to kiss under every mistletoe if you notice one.” You said happily and then thanked the teacher for going inside the gym.

Of course, Metori in his head was already calculating how many tons of mistletoe he should buy so that you could continue kissing him as sweetly as you just did.

You put two cups of hot, beautifully fragrant chocolate on the table; one was with two white marshmallows and the other with six. Of course, it was easy to guess which portion was for Juuzou and which was for you. Nevertheless, you smiled gently and then sat down next to the white-haired boy, staring at him out of the corner of your eye.

“... About what did you dream, Juuzou-kun?” You asked softly, taking the purple cup between both hands. The warm ceramics pleasantly burned your all fingers, which made you breathe blissfully. “Of course, if you don’t want to, you don’t have to tell me. We can just sit in silence and drink our sweet cocoa.” You added after a brief second so as not to put unnecessary pressure or general stress on the nineteen-year-old.

“It’s no big deal. I dreamed about my mom.” He admitted hesitantly, also taking his dark-green mug. “When I woke up and looked at the calendar I realized we had Christmas time and... Well, my mom never gave me any, not even a small gift, nor did I ever spend that time like other children my age. It hit me a bit. Not that I regret it, but... what Christmas really is?” His short speech made you look at him with a very sad expression on your face and after a quick while you just put your warm chocolate on the table, getting up from your wooden chair and walking to a random cupboard in your smol kitchen.

This year you didn’t have time (because of work) and no idea (because of fatigue) for presents for loved ones, and even more so for the unexpected guest – Suzuya, who loved to sleep in your house because, as he once said, ‘He felt at your place very safe’, but you managed to come up with a little surprise fastly; you wrapped a red ribbon that was in the cupboard with needles and scissors around an unopened box of nut cookies. You also managed to find a piece of paper and a black pen, so you wrote a concise but sincere wishes to the inspector, which ended with a tiny heart and a star. Out of the corner of your eye, you also noticed the mistletoe lying next to the clock, which was a little joke your dear friend had made to you two days ago. So you took everything and went back to the quietly sitting Juuzou, smiling slightly at him, even a bit silly.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t think about gifts before, but... I hope that’s enough. After today’s work, we can go to the gallery or the park to see the decorated Christmas trees, you will surely like them. Happy Holidays, Juuzou. I hope next year will be a good one for you.” You said shyly as you handed him ribbon-decorated cookies. At the sight of them, the boy only blushed, then looked at your other hand, which was still gripping a little twig. “Ohh... it’s... such a small tradition where you get a kiss under the mistletoe.” You picked up the plant and then placed it over the white-haired young man’s head, bending down after a while and giving him a short peck on the left, smooth cheek. “Merry Christmas once again.”

You only smirked, reaching for the mug of already cool drink. However, you weren’t disappointed in drinking the cold cocoa, because the honest, slightly timid smile of the boy you liked from the beginning of your work at CCG warmed your whole body better than any other hot chocolate, tea or coffee.

I have no clue what to ask about the Madoka AU, but I am interested. So is there anything Madoka AU-related you’d like an excuse to talk about? Because this is basically a free pass to do so.

Okay I’m gonna use this as an excuse to infodump/expand on Rantaro’s backstory because I’ve been wanting to talk about it for a while now

(warning, this does get really, really, REALLY long because a LOT happens in his backstory and I couldn’t help myself Also I spoil at least half the plot twists in Madoka Magica so there’s that too)

So like in canon, he comes from a pretty rich family, as his father has a pretty upper-class job. For a long time he lived with him, his mother and his younger sister. (yes there’s only one this time, it’d be a lot more confusing if there was 12) His relationship with his mother was fine, but his relationship with his father was...Complicated, to say the least. (not to the extent in DFTH though, thankfully) However he really cared for his sister. Since his parents both worked a lot, he had to look after her most of the time and he really grew to care for her. She was practically his entire world. But one day, his sister went missing. Completely gone. Rantaro of course was worried sick, and his relationship with his father got even worse.

Then not too long after that, him and a few of his friends from school were approached by a certain alien cat. ...By which I mean he jumped through the window and scared the living daylights out of them. (Basically Kyubey noticed that someone with a high Karmic Destiny was nearby, and it also just so happened that he has something he might want to wish for. There were other people there too, so why not recruit them too? It’s a win-win!) So Kyubey introduced himself and went through the details of the contract. However, Rantaro’s not an idiot. His time with his father made him learn that every deal has a catch, and questioned Kyubey as to what the terms and conditions were. Kyubey of course obliged (as he says in the anime that the only reason he never told the girls about the darker stuff was because they never asked), but he purposely framed it in a way to still get them to make a contract anyway. To give them time to decide on their wishes, he said that he would approach each of them seperately that night and ask them then.

So cut to that night, Kyubey approaches Rantaro and asks him what his wish is, and Rantaro practically immediately wishes to be able to find his missing sister. (because of this, his power is the ability to track people’s locations) And it’s a good thing he did, because she got stuck in a Witch’s Labyrinth. Thankfully the Witch that captured her prefers to collect it’s victims instead of killing them, so Rantaro was able to save her. Him and his sister were reunited, his relationship with his family got better, all good times.

...For about a month.

Before I go into detail about what happens, I’mma just confirm one thing: Yes, Rantaro’s previous team was made up of members of the DFTH cast. Because the reason he had a previous team in the first place is symbolic of the Ultimate Survivor thing and I decided to go all the way with it and throw my OCs into the mix I’ve already confirmed that Kokoro, Haruto and Sachiko were part of his team, but Saiko was also an original member and Jasper and Miko were the people who joined later on. (a lot of this is for DFTH symbolism reasons btw but yeah)

Now that the explanation’s out of the way time for angst

At some point during a fight against a notably powerful witch, Saiko’s soul gem gets shattered at some point when he’s trying to protect Rantaro and he dies. The group of course is devastated and can barely fight anymore, but thankfully Miko and Jasper - who are both a LOT more experienced than them since they made their respective wishes before them - decide to join the team and get their spirits back up again. ...For about a week. This is when they run into the “main villain figure” of this AU- okay I’m not even hiding who it is anymore at this point, it’s Tsumugi. They run into Tsumugi. Basically when she made a contract with Kyubey she didn’t know about the Magicas = Witches thing and thought that whoever was making the Witches shouldn’t be having all the fun themselves, and wished to be able to create Witches of her own. This gave her the ability to fire an attack that severely corrupts a Magica's soul gem on a direct hit, but also corrupts her own a bit too. During the fight against them, she uses said attack on Haruto. Because she was finding him annoying. The group don’t realise what happened until she escapes. Rantaro panics because he doesn’t want to lose someone else like what happened with Saiko, and he is also really close to Haruto like he is in DFTH, so he rushes to get a grief seed before it’s too late. The Witch they find runs away before Rantaro can kill it, and the resulting stress was too taxing on Haru’s soul gem and he turns. (he ends up turning into the very same Witch that kills Maki later on in the timeline by the way) The group is too weakened from the fight with Tsumugi to actually fight him, and Sachiko also dies here. So the group have to run away.

It’s probably around this point that Kyubey tells Rantaro about the whole Karmic Destiny thing, specifically that he notably has more of it than the rest of his team. Because of that he assumes that everyone’s deaths was his fault, and reluctantly decides that the remaining group (him, Kokoro, Miko and Jasper) should split up, but Kokoro follows him anyway. He framed this to his family as him moving out and getting an apartment elsewhere and going to a different school, but promised he still would visit. (his sister was the reason he made his wish after all, would be a dick move to just leave her)

However, not long after they arrived in their new town, the stress and trauma of the situation got to Kokoro and she Witched out. She ran off to go on a rampage, so Rantaro chased after her to stop anyone from getting hurt. And it just so happened that the person that Witch attacked was Kaede. He was able to kill the Witch to protect her, but ran off before she could say anything. ...But it just so happens that the school he transferred to was the one that she, Kaito, Maki and Shuichi all went to.

And this all leads to the main timeline.

taking a closer look at the jinzo archetype & its members

there’s very few monsters in the yugioh tcg that actually have stated lore- konami seems to really like implied lore through cart art and card effects, and relationships within archetypes as well as cards outside of them. with that in mind, i want to share my observations about the five monsters in the jinzo archetype!

before i begin, i want to get one simple but very important technicality out of the way, and that is this: robots, androids and cyborgs are all different things.

robot: a machine created with little/no intended resemblance to a human being, including bipedal robots like gundams who are meant to be piloted 

androids: a machine created with a clear intended resemblance to humans, either by looking exactly like one or looking very humanoid

cyborg: a human or humanoid with mechanical enhancements

the japanese name of this archetype is 人造人間 (jinzoningen), which translates literally to “artificial human” and translates officially to english as “android”. in addition, the original japanese names of all of the jinzo monsters are as follows:

人造人間－サイコ・ショッカー (Jinzōningen - Saiko Shokkā)

人造人間－サイコ・ジャッカー (Jinzōningen - Saiko Jakkā)

人造人間－サイコ・リターナー (Jinzōningen - Saiko Ritānā)

人造人間－サイコ・ロード (Jinzōningen - Saiko Rōdo)

人造人間７号 (Jinzōningen Nana-gō)

as well as having “android” prefixed before all of their names, the archetype is also all purely machine-type, as opposed to several other monsters who clearly have cyborg augmentation but retain their original typing, like giga gagagigo. based on this, it’s safe to say that the “jinzo” monsters are all purely mechanical beings—they are NOT humans who have been experimented on, or who have received cyborg augmentation.

moving onto the monsters themselves, in order of release date:

this card was released before the first actual “jinzoningen” monster, and considering that the word “jinzoningen” is also just a general word meaning “android”, it’s debatable whether this card is even technically part of the archetype, but since the wiki treats it as one, i’m just gonna go for it anyways. jinzo #7 is a very shoddy-looking android, and the numbers printed on his armor seem to imply that he is attempt #7 of his creator’s attempt to build a functioning machine, since the assumed jinzo numbers 1-6 are nonexistent in the card game. and based on his similarity in appearance to the other jinzoningen monsters, he very well may have been the first step, the “gateway” to the creation of the others. his effect is very simple, but possibly implies that he has exceptionally high speed or agility to avoid the other monsters in the way of the player, and also to make up for his poor offensive and defensive capabilities.

jinzo - lord was released years after the original jinzo in 2008, but i’m putting them both together in the same bit of analysis, because based on lord’s way of summoning, the implications are clear—jinzo - lord is simply an upgraded version of jinzo, rather than a separate monster entirely. 

unlike #7, jinzo is clearly a polished machine, fully complete in his construction and capable of several highly destructive functions. his name “psycho shocker” implies strong psychic abilities that are capable of inflicting physical damage, and his attack in the anime, “cyber energy shock”, is an electric ball of pure dark energy. also implied by his attribute, dark energy most likely contributes to a large part of his function, possibly held internally by a strong magnetic or magical field. his main skill is disabling trap cards with his presence, which can translate more generally as incredibly high intelligence and strong psychic ability that allows him to forsee danger before it happens and disable the things that he already knows pose a threat. in his upgraded “lord” form, these abilities are strengthened even further, now having the ability to outright destroy these threats and inflict karmic return blows with his psychic powers. he also gains six tendrils sprouted from his back, which may be used for restraint and generating electrical shocks from the spikes at the tips. since he is a machine, he may also use these to download information from other machines into his CPU, based on their flat appearance, as if they’re meant to be inserted somewhere. overall, being the ace of his entire archetype, he is a very powerful, very intelligent android capable of great harm in many different ways, though he appears to be somewhat of a glass cannon—his defensive capabilities are below average, so his only option is to serve his purpose with his several different abilities, or give into being overpowered by the enemy; a black-and-white choice fitting for a mechanical mind, but his high intelligence may imply also imply sentience, making his decisions not so clear-cut should he form attachments to others.

returner is a comparably small android to all the others, looking to be the size of an average human. he shares a lot of the same qualities as #7, but in returner’s case, he seems to be built with more of an intentional emphasis on agility, being incredibly thinly built and only possessing a large CPU where his head is and large shoulderpads for protection. the purpose that his second effect seems to imply is a sort of “distress call” upon destruction. his defensive capabilities are only slightly below-average, and he can hold his own against weaker opponents with ease. upon being destroyed, he immediately calls for the return of a fallen comrade, possibly implying that he uses his remaining energy and power to reanimate a destroyed or dysfunctional jinzo for just enough time to take down the larger opponent they were facing, before both of them return to ruin. 

interestingly enough, despite being a “call for help” type of android, he was built with a human-like mouth that was then sewn shut, making him unable to actually speak, which is much more visually gruesome than the other mouth-like masks the other jinzoningens have. guess the creator of the jinzoningens had a pretty messed up sense of humor. 😱

jector is very interesting, as he seems to have been built as a direct defensive counterpart to jinzo himself. his japanese name, “psycho jacker”. directly implies his purpose as a hacker, as do the multitude of tendrils connected directly to his CPU. his second ability allows him to use his full power to hack into the opponents strategies and reveal all of their abilities, providing intelligence to his team and then immediately requesting backup from jinzo, bringing him to attention, and if the situation is dire enough, directly bringing him to jector’s location. his first ability—to change his data to “jinzo”’s—is what his english name implies; the ability to “project” himself into jinzo’s role. this way, not only is he able to utilize jinzo’s specific support items, such as “amplifier” (which can ONLY be equipped to jinzo), but he is also able to take on the full appearance and abilities of jinzo - lord, who can only be summoned by tributing a face-up “jinzo” on the field and cannot be summoned any other ways. his intelligence is possibly even superior to jinzo’s, as he seems to have been built with the sole intent of creating an incredibly competent data-gathering machine who can then use it to support jinzo’s conquest. jector is, without a doubt, the best support member for jinzo, possessing high defensive capabilities, the ability to hack into vital intelligence for his team, and even the ability to copy jinzo - lord’s own abilities in a pinch. 

whoever created these androids seems to have been trying to create an android with a combination of human intelligence and raw destructive power, and have been trying for a while before they eventually got it right. upon jinzo’s creation, their focus moved on to creating androids to support his conquest, resulting in the birth of jector and returner. jinzo is a dangerous weapon capable of mass destruction, but he may also possess too much intelligence to be held down by any one commanding force for too long. jector and returner are loyal only to jinzo, so wherever he decides to go they will most likely follow. there’s really no telling what such intelligent androids would decide to do if left to their own devices, since, despite their attribute, there’s nothing in their cards or their anime appearances that directly imply that they’re evil or destruction-bent. there was that one jinzo spirit from GX that wanted to become human so he could destroy the world or whatever bUT COME ON, GIVE THEM A CHANCE-

Are you the one who does Hide theories? If so why not make a last theory about Hide's and Kaneki's eye, just for fun? If you dont know what I mean, let me explain. In the sewers with Hide, that eye we see covered in shadows up in shown in this current chapter along with the text saying 'I always looked to you'. Hmm... I'm not explaining this well...

This is very likely my last ever tg/ tg re: analysis seeing as it’s coming to an end, and hopefully most things will be resolved /explained with the last chap or some type of afterword of Ishida’s.

As per usual this has a lot of Hide mentions.

At first I was confused by this, anon. Then I realized I hadn’t read the newest (Second to last chap) and now I get what you want me to talk about.It spiraled into a bigger analysis that I hope is engaging to anyone who happens to read it.

So, I went back and read into it.And checked to see if there was anything that could be analyzed.

Then I remembered, that there used to be a theory going around that Hide was speaking to Ken through some type of transmitter after the attack.

That he might have placed that eyepatch Ken suddenly shows up wearing to the Arima fight.

I’ll break that down based on what I see, but long story short, Hide didn’t put that on him.

The Eyepatch:

pre Amon fight : on

Post Amon fight : still on under the organic matter

During the sewer scene : On and off (to show anguish but not actually removed)

Right before Hide shows up: He takes it off himself during the

  “i’m the one being consumed scene”

When he notices Hide : Organic mask back on but it can be assumed he dropped the actual mask in the sewage.

Which would make sense, Hide likely recovered that same mask he later on gifts him in re:

That mask though, also has the eyepatch it comes with attached.

And the one we see with Arima is different from what I can discern.

The moment Hide touches him : No sign of that ghoul mask or an eyepatch under.

The Hide pep talk:

 We know what happened in the sewers between Ken and Hide in regards to damage, it messed with Hide’s face and vocal fold.

We also know for a fact, that Hide was not following Ken to his final destination.

The question now is?

The voice Ken heard.

Hide was unable to communicate with Ken, transmitter, or not, so this :

This is in Kaneki’s mind associating his own thoughts with those that Hide would likely say (see: Fantasy ‘you’re ripped’ Hide)

 or

 Hide managed to sneak a few lines in like those above, before the ‘kiss’.

Always looked to you…

When it comes to Ken’s human eye and seeking association with the eyepatch that appears out of the blue on Kens eye before the Arima fight.

While Kaneki is engulfed by the massive current of dead cells and likely silently drowning as the current pushes him down the path he climbed–

He hears a voice.

And right after we do, we see Touka looking out of the window, anticipating his return.

Now, my first thought was that it was somehow something off screen, Touka might have said to Ken.Which doesn’t add up knowing her behavior and dialogue pre sex.

But, then you might ask, who the heck would be saying that.

‘Always’ implies someone has been there prior to Kens ghoulification surgery.

It could be a part of himself speaking out to him, which, to me, would be underwhelming and a bit unecessary at this moment.

It would also imply Kaneki’s bastardized version of D.I.D was present as Kuroneki, which trauma noted would not be weird, but would not add up with what we know of Kaneki.

Ishida after-all fills the manga with foreshadowing.

chap. 144 re : Before he turns and kills many innocents and plays right into Furuta’s plan.

Losing the chance to imply that was a thing early on would be unlike what we see of his writing.

With only one chapter left, Hide being back and a big question-mark looming over who ‘kissed’ who in the sewers….

The idea that Hide was on his mind just like in the sewers would not be far fetched.

Possibilities :

A conversation off screen post reunion

A talk they had when they met in the sewers, a wonderful build up to the last chapter including said scene before it all gets resolved. 

something that his rendition of Hide in his mind would do is not far fetched.

Kaneki will likely die and Hide is aware.

Chapter 178 shows us a butterfly twice.It looks like the sky has cleared and as though everything will go well when Saiko and Touka hold hands and hope to see Ken together.

However, this is a tragedy and we know things aren’t that simple.

The butterfly isn’t a simple of peace.In Japanese culture, amongst other meanings,

“Butterflies are closely linked with recently departed spirits”

and though that could be about Rize and or Furuta…

it could just be a death flag for the protagonist.

Tg re: has been rumored to be planned with a happy ending but what if the “happy” ending is for humanity and ghoulmanity and not for Kaneki himself?

What if Kaneki gets to die after securing offspring?

chapter 176 re:

The whole pregnancy / child shenanigan screams that to the reader, life will go on, history has and will likely repeat itself in small arcs that envelop bigger ones.

Human / Ghoul Peace has been momentarily achieved (thanks Hide and Furuta sorta)  but other issues surely will arise.

 Much like the non canon ending of the Root A anime, in which everyone in battle seized the fight as a ghoul held a human friend in his arms.

It’s a tragedy, it is very likely that Kaneki will die after having at least become aware of the damage he has done upon the country and his best friend.

chap. 164 re:

After finding a reason to live.

Having Hide facing away from the monitors, sweating and concerned instead of celebrating, towards what looks like the butterfly outside the building, is a bit telling.

As well as other scenes throughout the manga…

Additionally, Kimi seems concerned with what she has been monitoring, it might have to do with Kaneki’s rc cells and the toxin engulfing him and skyrocketing them.

chap 176 re:

According to a Japanese reading friend of mine, they might even get candy.

And what happens when the sun doesn’t come?

She said they cut the head off.

And well my research tells me she is right :

“Teru-teru-bozu, teru bozu/ Do make tomorrow a sunny day/ But if the clouds are crying/ Then I shall snip your head off”

There is also one origin theory that is quite harrowing :

“However, after promising good weather to a feudal lord, the sunshine did not appear as promised and the monk’s head was chopped off as punishment. It’s said the monk’s head was then wrapped in cloth and hung outside to stop the rain and bring out the sun.” (From the same link source I added above)

So what does this mean for Hide? He fixed so much in Kaneki’s absence.

In a way he brought the sunshine, but Hide’s purpose is not world peace, everything he does, he does for him.

So what is his payoff? Letting him be swept by a stream of water?

or maybe he will be decapitated somehow trying to help Kaneki one last time?

I say if you kill one off, have them be together in the end.Living without Kaneki would be terrible considering how emotionally invested Hide is.

Alrighty, peeps reported my redesign for no good reason and it got deleted, so I’m reposting it.

No, I am by no means a Yandere Simulator fan. I just decided to redesign the recently announced Student Council becase I thought their original designs were absolutely hideous. From the ugly stockings to the eye-bleeding pallete and extremely shallow personality traits (everyone got an edgy backstory, hurray!), I just HAD to do something about it.

I mean, it’s almost laughable how they were suposed to be based on a Phoenix, a Turtle, a Dragon and a Tiger! O-o

And in case you’re wondering, yes, the uniform variations are pretty similar to Persona 3′s, because they are a great example of how to vary school uniforms without it being over the top or too extreme. If you want to copy Persona, do it right.

Phoenix: She is the “heart” of the team. She is a gentle and passionate type of leader, and believes that everyone deserves a second chance. Even if someone commited a serious mistake on school grounds, she always tries to work around a gentlier punishment. I made her thicc just cuz I felt like it. No secret edgy backstory, no messed up personality hidden behind a motherly facade. She is a naturally kind leader and that’s it. Turtle: The oldest one in the group and the closest to Megami (posibly childhood friend). Turtle is considered the “brains” of the team and always chooses the most reasonable punishment/decision. Whetever someone deserves or not to be forgiven by her depends on her rational and long thoughts. Her original design wasn’t that bad, but I just thought it looked pretty generic; like you already saw that same character a million times before. Megami: Since Eva clearly didn’t plan everything before start spoiling everything, she is the only one who doesn’t have a symbolism. After reading a bit about the other spirit animals, I decided to give her the Snake. Their are often associated with healing and purification, which can be tied to her goal to “clean the school” from any toxic students. She tends to be quite paranoid and obssessive about her leading role, specially because she got the weight of Saiko corp on her shoulders, so Phoenix and Turtle are extremely important to keep her decisions clear. Also, I gave her sharp black eyes so they would look vaguely like snake eyes: cold, sharp and threatning. Dragon: Although western culture considers dragons to be dangerous and agressive animals, eastern dragons are actually the oposite. They are associated with inteligence and power, but not the dangerous type. So no, she is not the muscles or the group. Dragon is the “all bark no bite” type of girl for looking threatning and not having the best manners or patience, but she is actually extremely responsable and commited to her role despite being judged by her appearence. Phoenix was actually the one who introduced her on the Student Council after seeing that Dragon could be more then a delinquent-esque outcast. Also no ugly eyepatch from costume shop. Tiger: Remember how dragons are NOT the agressive and threatning ones? Well, the one with those traits is actually the tiger. They are seen as extremely strong and dangerous creatures, so if you want to be worried about any of the members, then you should be worried about her. Being the only child of a rich company (we’re safe to assume this school got plently of rich or important students), she was since a young age used to be in a position of power. But unlike Megami, Tiger doesn’t have a noble cause behind her role on the Student Council. She simply likes to control, to have power and to be above the others. And no, there’s no mysterious backstory about it. That’s just her naturally nasty persolity. Oh, and i decided to make her albino in order to represent more the (rare!) white tiger that she was inspired from.

  As a follow-up to yesterday's article from Anime! Anime! on Japanese fan's favorite anime openings from 2020, the popular Japanese anime website also polled their users on their favorite anime endings, again choosing some bangin' tunes from the last year to top the rankings!

  An amazing feat by Kim Jae-joong to not only take the top spot for opening themes but the ending themes as well! The K-pop singer must have a very dedicated following in Japan to gain this much support, but also having a great voice helps in getting that support in the first place!
