And here it is at last! The Gravity Falls Multi-Artist Lyric Comic tribute to the Stan Twins, "Trouble"!

Happy 10th anniversary to Gravity Falls @gf10yearslaterzine

What can I possibly say about this show? It’s brought me so much joy; so much laughter and tears, so many emotions of all kinds. It’s the feeling of being a part of something; of being enough. I am deserving of love, and family, and self-worth, just as I am. I am good and brave and loyal and selfless. I am everything I need to be. I am enough, and someday the happy ending I deserve will come to me; I just gotta hold out. Sometimes it takes time, and sometimes things aren’t gonna to the way I hoped they would. But I deserve to be loved and I deserve family. And family is something I’ll always have.

Thank you so much to this show and this fandom. I’ve been here for three years now, and I’ve made some of the greatest friends I’ve ever had. I love each and every member of this fandom with all my heart, and I’m so happy to have been able to discover the joy that is this show, and experience such a wonderful community.

I am so grateful for everything that Gravity Falls has given me. I wouldn’t be the same without having watched this wonderful little cartoon and experienced such an amazing fandom. All of you are so kind and caring, and wish love on each and every one of you.

Stanley Pines is my favorite character on this show. He shows that it’s ok to feel down or sad or worthless sometimes. It’s ok to struggle and to screw things up. It’s ok to hurt, and it’s ok to love wildly and freely even when you’ve gotten nothing but pain in return. And most of all, it’s so, so essential that you keep loving, and keep caring about other people, no matter how much your bashed down for your efforts. This thought and feeling has so much power and I’m eternally grateful for it. You don’t need to stop loving. You don’t need to stop being a human being. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be loved either. Stanley Pines is so human it hurts, and the amount of times I’ve cried over this fictional old man is more than I’d like to admit.

We all deserve love. We all deserve family. We are not wrong for wanting these things, and we are certainly not wrong for giving out our love either. There’s this huge sense of validation for being that I get whenever I watch this show. And a sense of validation for loving whenever I look at our beloved Grunkle Stan.

So yeah. Gravity Falls is amazing, and will hold a special place in my heart forever.

Happy ten year anniversary.

I drew a fusion of the Stans if they were to fuse Steven Universe style. His name is Stan. He has four arms for wielding a pair of Stanley's brass knuckles AND one (or two) of Stanford's sci-fi guns, writing at least two things down at once, and giving great hugs.

Combine Stanley's strength and Stanford's smarts and Stanley's smarts and Stanford's strength and both of their stubbornness and you get someone who is unstoppable.

If Stanley were wearing his fez, Stan would be wearing it too... I just didn't so I could draw his hair.

At some point in the future, I want to draw Stan (fusion) as a fusion of mullet Stanley and paranoid Stanford, and maybe another of the sea grunks.

KENNY, MY BELOVED!

Oh boy, OH BOY, where to start with this guy?

I think I'll start out with his appearance, then move on to his identity, likes, dislikes, and misc. shit.

But before we get into it, minor TW for mentions (slightly in-depth!) of bad home life, an eating disorder, and mental illnesses. It's the first thing under the cut; I put a ✨ when it's safe to read again.

Ok, so, I definitely hc Kenny as underweight, for more than one reason. One being obviously that his family is poor, and can't afford much food, but I also think that Kenny has an eating disorder. ARFID, to be specific. It's not to lose weight, either; I think it formed because Kenny would rather his little sister Karen get to eat more food than him. His parents are also CLEARLY abusive, it's stated and even outright shown. I think that one of their abusive punishments is withholding food when Kenny does something they perceive as "bad," or even just when he makes them mad.

Kenny, I believe, also has a slew of disorders, mostly from his traumatic life. I think he's got:

ADHD, AFRID, C-PTSD, DPDR, and Cotard's syndrome. The C-PTSD is self explanatory- his life is shit. And I already explained the ARFID. But as for the others, I believe he has: ADHD just based on the actions he takes in the show. DPDR, as a symptom of his C-PTSD, and coping mechanism to the trauma of dying over and over and over. Impossibilities aside, if that were to happen to someone in real life, they would likely have a VERY hard time with their sense of reality. Cotard's syndrome, I considered not listing. Because Kenny really DOES die. But after thinking about it, I DO think he has it. I think his DPDR causes him to not be able to tell if he is really alive, or if he has died yet again.

All the triggering stuff is out of the way now.

I think that Kenny has snake bites and an eyebrow piercing. He just gives those vibes, doesn't he? Like, come on, he TOTALLY has face piercings! Same with a mullet. Like, Kenny is THE most mullet-having mullet haver I've ever seen!! It's less of a "hillbilly country bumpkin" mullet, and more of a tik tok alt mullet, and it actually looks kinda good on him.

I also think he wear Hawaiian shirts under his parka. At first he didn't like them, not even wearing one when he went to Hawaii and just keeping his parka on, but after a little while, he realized that he loved button-up shirts, but that normal button-ups were to formal for him. His solution? Hawaiian shirts.

I think he's genderfluid. Genderfaunet, in specifically. He uses he/him/they pronouns. This is because he's almost always a boy, but is sometimes non-binary, so usually prefers he/him. He's straight and even when he's non-binary, he still calls himself straight. It's just a personal preference of his.

I think Kenny's intelligence is definitely above average. However, his strengths don't lie with schoolwork. Instead, he's better at real-life problem-solving, and emotional intelligence. I'd place his IQ at around 120, although he never got tested. His worst subject in school is math.

Some things he likes are: Rock music, the aquarium, dogs, "bad" weather, nature, sports, urban exploration, social media, cars, and video games.

Some dislikes are: Reading, drawing, writing, speaking (sometimes), school, and closed spaces.

When Kenny gets to be in high school, he works at a gas station with Stan and steals cigarettes from behind the register. Kenny's job as an adult is at Sea World.

Kenny has GOT to be my favorite character. He's funny, but can have serious story lines that you can take seriously, unlike, for example, Cartman. He's got some things about him that are very relatable to me and a lot of other people and he's just overall a great character!

“W-what do you want?” Stan demanded as he struggled against the men’s strong grip on his arms. “Do I owe you guys money or something?”

The one that stood in front of him sneered in his face. “You don’t even deserve the dignity of knowing why we’re doing this to you,” he spat.

Stan kicked out, catching one of the men in the shin, but it did no good. The one in front of him gagged him with a bandana, forcing it into his mouth and glowering as his henchmen began dragging Stan toward the edge of the pier.

“Mmmph!” Stan exclaimed behind the gag. “Ltt mmm gh!”

One of the men laughed evilly, grabbing onto his mullet and pulling his head back. “Keep screaming. No one is coming to save you.”

Heavy chains were wrapped around his ankles and then attached to a large metal ball. Stan began to panic even more when he realized the extent of what the gang was going to do to him. “Nnn! Gttff mmm!”

“Have fun swimming with the fishes, Stannie boy,” one of the men gloated, before pushing Stan in the icy black water below.

Stan broke the surface with a loud splash, struggling to swim up as the metal ball dragged him down. “Mmph!!” he cried, expelling the last of the air from his lungs. There had to be a way to get out of this, he thought as he thrashed in the freezing water. But as the energy quickly left his body, all he could do was hope that someone was coming to save him.

Hi! I was wondering if you have any thoughts about jungkooks outfits for his promotion and his concept photos being very similar or even the same as jimins photos and outfits for face? Like with jungkooks inkigayo performance, his outfit was very similar to jimins outfit for his inkigayo performance. I’ve seen some say he’s trying to tell us/hint at something with jimin (jungkook was the one who picked out the outfits for the photo shoot) but I don’t know what that would be.

I’ve also seen shippers try to say that jungkooks stage for his performance was very similar to the restaurant that the two went to eat at because of all of the flowers and how it’s New York themed. I can agree that it’s New York themed (I’m not sure if it being this theme has anything to do with jikook), but I’m not so sure about the restaurant part. What do you think? I’m not even sure if he was the one who picked the design for the stage, but he could have given his opinion.

In my opinion, I personally don't believe that Jungkook would base his debut solo project around another member or use it as a way to promote future collaborations. I would like to be hopeful and dream of a Jungkook/Jimin subunit or feature on any of their albums (after all jungkook is my bias and jimin is my bias wrecker), whether it be group or solo works, but I won't be quick to 'connect the dots' through a singular project or an Inkigayo stage. One should never prioritize one interpretation of constellations when it comes to a sea of stars. However, I will not deny the similarities between their outfits and concepts, after all, let's take a look at them...

Honest Coincidence or Malicious Matching?

Inkigayo: A nice white tank (sort of for Jimin, his chest is just... out) with a leathery black pant and white jacket combo. Nothing too crazy, it's a pretty simple outfit combination.

Face and Seven concept photos: Open chest blueish-gray blazer with a necklace combo. The suit lapels are different and Jimin's pants are more on the matching side, but both have a pretty similar build. One could argue that their hair is even matching, but the short bang mullet(ish) combo has been a trend among K-idols for the past year and a half now.

Honorable mention: Matching pants and shirt set. Also, the editing on Jungkook's photo will never not be funny.

Whether or not this was intentional by the stylists or the boys themselves, I'm not sure. Logically, I'd like to think that it's not. But I will admit that they're pretty similar -- though, it's not like some of these sets are revolutionary or super-unique-never-been-done-before (although it feels that way when you look at them </3). That's not a dig at Jimin or Jungkook, but at the end of the day, it's really just a blazer combo with some slacks or a white tank and some black leather pants. Both of them look incredible and they really capture the essence of both SEVEN and FACE as a whole.

Also, let me play devil's advocate here for a minute, and by devil's advocate, I mean an overly sensitive (and nonsensical) solo looking for blood: Taehyung wore an open-chest blazer set but nothing was really said given that it was a striking red pigment. If it had been this blue-grey, then one could have made the argument that it was similar as well.

Some solo stans have accused Jungkook of attempting to rip Jimin off or to ride the success of Like Crazy by copying his looks. After sifting through argument after argument, I don't necessarily think Jungkook was ripping FACE's concept off or that he was planning on using similar aesthetics to promote a rumored Jikook collab. But these are two members of BTS that we're talking about... why would either one of them have to rely on another member to gain traction? It just doesn't make any sense. Also, in terms of aesthetic execution of both SEVEN and FACE/Like Crazy, the two are very different. In terms of fashion periods, Jimin emulated the late eighties/early nineties (I mean, Like Crazy was literally synth-pop with an artistic touch from Mapplethorpe), whereas Jungkook stuck to the nineties to the early 2000s in all its reduced-aspect-ratio glory. Of course, there were modern pieces stitched in here and there, but the two had eras that shared similar fashion trends, so it's to be expected that some aspects of each period would overlap.

Also when it comes to certain clothing pieces or matching sets, you can look up 'Kpop idols wearing the same clothes' on YouTube... there are several compilations to behold. I always think about that one tweet format where someone posts two people (usually kpop idols) wearing similar/the same clothes and caption it "This only means one thing in Korea.." and it never gets less funny every time I read it. For those who are reading this and don't know what this means, essentially it's the whole 'they're-wearing-the-same-clothes-so-they-must-be-dating' schtick. But before I wrap this section up, another point that I'd like to make is that Jimin and Jungkook tend to gravitate toward the same styles/brands from time to time. We've seen it many times before, whether it be in behind-the-scenes content or airport fashion runs. They're definitely not twins in the fashion department, but they do tend to share some pieces.

Inkigayo Set or Antoya Date?

Well, it's no secret that Jimin and Jungkook went to Antoya, a Korean-Italian fusion restaurant in NYC. There were several eyewitnesses who saw the pair around the area, so there's no denying that they actually went. You know me, I don't really like candid videos or photos of the BTS members, so I will not be utilizing any of those photos/videos of Jimin and Jungkook. One cannot simply state nor confirm that the two actually went on a date, they could have been grabbing a simple dinner together. Many arguments saying that it was a date draw attention to the romantic atmosphere of the restaurant or the fact that they allegedly rented out the entire place to themselves. The reason why I say allegedly is because someone who was there and claimed that they saw Jikook posted a screenshot of their own reservation at the restaurant that night as proof, so I'm not sure if they had entirely rented it out or if they had rented it out only for a short while. Who knows, who cares, it doesn't really matter in the grander scheme of things, blah blah blah.

Antoya is a restaurant not just for couples, there are tons of reviews online of friend groups heading to the restaurant or of families getting together; it's like what I said about the GCF in Tokyo (lord pray for me) hotel, that yes, on some travel websites, they list the hotel as a 'good place for couples' but on others, it's just a standard hotel. Both possibilities of it being a romantic hot spot for couples or a simple dining experience are equally matched. Also, for anyone who reads my posts and follows me knows that I would never outright declare anything a date or anything more unless I have verbal or written confirmation -- it's just who I am. But BTS tend to frequent Korean restaurants abroad whenever they have overseas schedules. Jungkook ate KBBQ during SEVEN's recording so it wouldn't be odd if he and Jimin booked a spot at a Korean joint in a city. If they did rent it out, that also doesn't confirm that it was 100% a date; they're two huge Korean celebrities going into a Korean restaurant, if they went normally, they could have been recognized by many of the staff members or customers. But that brings me back to SEVEN's Inkigayo set... do I think that the staff would spend thousands if not millions of won on a temporary set to recreate an alleged date location that the singer visited only a few weeks ago with another member? No. Of course not. The buildings could represent the city that Jungkook was traveling through in the music video, the same city he walked in when he bought some flowers and nearly got hit by a car. Details, I guess. And like you said, we're not even sure if he had a hand in selecting what the stage would look like.

For both of these cases, I just feel like these are some people reading waaayyy too into things and drawing conclusions from similar imagery. If Jikookers want to perceive it as a romantic testament of love, I won't stop them, but given the recent events in Jungkook's live, I do implore shippers to be careful on how they go about subjective and objective statements. Ship safely, please do not state things that you don't know are a fact as a fact, that leads to dangerous perceptions that bleed into the nasty Weverse comment section. Be observational and approach each situation from every angle before settling on one viewpoint. Leave room for doubt -- welcome it, even. This will help you remain grounded, and it's okay if you're wrong. People who are so bitter and angry over a ship scare the fuck out of me...

I'll end this ask how I end most asks like this, whether or not Jimin and Jungkook are dating, I don't know, but what I do know is that overanalyzing things and feeding into the dangerous rhetoric of solos can be quite damaging. I think we should be supportive of both of our boys and think rationally. They wouldn't do anything to hurt one another, they've made that abundantly clear. Jungkook would not throw his precious relationship with Jimin away over some CLOTHES.

Also .... Jungkook + Jimin live soon... really hoping for this one.

Again, I always invite those who have opposing views or die-hard jikookers to come into my ask box and share their opinions respectfully, bc this is what this post is, an opinion. I enjoy hearing everyone and what they have to say.

ok stans eyes are this shade of blue, very BLUE, like the clearest sunniest day u have ever seen, alarmingly classically stan marsh blue *kyle vc* blue as FUCK like stan is the main character and u can tell by his eyes

marjorines eye(s) are light blue like a pastel baby blue color, or at least the working one is, the out of commission eye is an even lighter blue color, almost white basically, cloudy, looks like a piece of sea glass, like innocent but also endured so much, suffered softly thru life

now kennys eyes…are stormy, they are like steel blue but they look gray from how much silver is flecked in them. they have a natural kind of mystery and ominous energy to them.

fun fact: when he is being anti!hero kenny and is doing morally dubious questionable/bad shit his eyes are noticably grayer, sometimes black. but when he’s happy and making good choices, his eyes are a nice shiny navy color :’)

yes i do think their eye color says a lot abt them each individually as characters In This Essay I Will

( also drastically different blonde colors stans hair is fucking yellow from bleach, marjorines is like a soft buttercup/pastel yellow color and kennys hair is a golden, dirty blonde )

speaking of hair tho

-karen is currently having her cosmetologist diy brad mondo girl moment and cuts kennys hair which is currently in a mullet ( is it cut well? no? but she measured w her heart ) she also practices acrylic nails on him and he lets her give him makeovers whenever she wants

-low, raspy voice…everyone is weak in the knees his mcwhoremick rizz is off the charts

-i do think he has a rough sort of folk hero, open fire, rustic singing voice that sounds like whiskey tastes ( which for my friends who cannot drink means good, but not for you )

-sometimes drops backup vocals on crimson dawn songs ( marj also does backup vocals shes an alto stan i feel like sings kind of in a tenorish range and kenny can probably go all the way down to bass tbh…
