I don’t think we talk about impulse’s season 8 lore enough like he’s the canon heir to the Charlie (from the chocolate factory. You know the one) business but from a character perspective it’s not really a choice he makes actively. Being a candy factory owner is just sort of something that happens to him. Edible crystals appear in his inventory, he eats them, gets hooked on them, and then his factory owner clothing just like appears on him. He seems kind of confused by this but not enough to actually do anything about it. Absolutely mystifying type of man

Things just as bad or worse
This is hilarious that it is the first one I am being asked about and yet it is the hardest to explain maybe? But that is why it is a WIP lol.
This idea has definitely grown over the years. It originally began as an RP modern verse on @theon-sea-reek where Theon had killed two children- Jack and Billy Miller while driving drunk. But now... it has morphed into something... weird.
Basically now the idea is that Theon is in prison in Modern Times (Still deciding whether I am making it our world or modern Westeros. Probably our world. I am also not sure if I am going to try to make the Miller's boys deaths closer to canon, or if I even can- we'll see.) Theon begins to make up stories in his head in order to detach from the reality of prison- which includes Ramsay in some form- and from his own guilt. These "stories" begin to take shape as the asoiaf canon we know but different versions of it. Things that happen in the modern prison reality begin to affect how the story in his head goes and it switches- sometimes it is book canon, sometimes it is show canon, sometimes it is more fanon. The stories eventually become "just as bad or worse" as the reality he is trying to escape. Theon begins to wonder if these stories are actually happening the more real they become and the more lost in them he becomes. Is he losing his mind? Which version of him is true? Does it matter? I have a LOT to plan and consider with this one but I'm really excited about it.
Theon and Jon in the Crypts
This was originally supposed to be written for Greysnow Week. (Alas!) It is a missing scene fic for Season 8. Jon is in the crypts staring up at Lyanna's statue and having extreme angst over Ned and the reveal of his true parentage. At some point he realizes that he is not alone in the crypts... Theon has also come to visit Robb's statue and they have a discussion together that mirrors their Season 7 discussion but also turns it on its head. A bit of it is below:
His mother is a stone statue and his father is a lie. Jon stands in the Crypts seething in anger. Ungrateful. He knows he is ungrateful to feel this way, when Ned Stark sacrificed his honor to protect him. But all he can think about is the last time they spoke. The last time he saw the man he thought was his father.
“The next time we see each other, we'll talk about your mother, I promise,” he had said. Would he have eventually told him? After he had already taken his vows and was safely out of the way? He certainly had no issue with him living out his life in frozen exile. He sent me to the wall without a second thought.
And what of his true father? What would he have wanted him to become? Would he have loved him? Would he have truly accepted him as a trueborn son, as Sam insisted? Or would he just be another shameful stain on his father’s honor, a lone bastard boy in yet a larger castle?
And then there is the loss… the hollow feeling of losing Ned twice. Loss and love mixed with this new feeling of betrayal. It is too much. And what will Daenerys say? What will his sisters say? He doesn’t need this right now.

Podcasts I'm listening to right now
I saw someone else do this (theirs was specific to narrative fiction, but I'm listening to a lot more than that.)
This will be for recommendations, but also hopefully serve as a reminder to myself down the road.
Part One: The Ol' Reliables
Judge John Hodgman
One of the first podcasts I even began listening to, and it's never NOT been on my subscription list. Even though it can be predictable (once you've heard 500 of these, you can guess where the rulings are headed) it's still delightful. Love John, Love Jesse. Love the whole deal. 8/10
My Brother, My Brother, and Me
I came somewhat late to the party. So, after the most-problematic character traits of the boys were gone. 2 of the 3 of them always make me laugh. In my opinion, I only fail to enjoy about 10 of the episodes. 9/10
99% Invisible
The GOAT. Funny, fascinating, and well-produced. It's been on my list for like 10 years? And it has introduced me to other phenomenal podcasts, books, and people. 10/10 no notes.
No Such Thing as a Fish
4 (usually) researcher for QI talk about weird facts they learned. It's great. 9/10
Sawbones
Dr. Sydney McElroy and her clown husband discuss medical history. Although really, there are quite a few episodes of currently-relevant issues as well. Good stuff, though not without it's flat points. 8/10
Welcome to Night Vale
Again, an all-timer. Though to be honest, it fell off my list for a while there. But when I went back and listened to the first 100 again to get caught back up, I refell in love. Great world, great writing, great narrator. Some of the deeper lore stuff doesn't always land with me (I still don't know how Huntokar like, matters). 8/10
Cautionary Tales
The newest-comer to this slate. Fascinating stories told in a cunning way. Which is to say, sometime manipulative storytelling to pad out the 30 minutes or whatever. They hook you, then you find out that they lied up front sometimes. And sometimes they have ads for Crypto...which is so discordant on a podcast about watching out for scams. 6/10 (2 points off for their annoying and poorly-chosen ads, honestly. May be a ploy to herd people to their Patreon.)
The Adventure Zone
The "hit-or-miss"est of this list. Some seasons are soaring and riveting. Some are not. Sometimes it's the GM, sometimes it's the setting, sometimes it's the system. There's a narrow needle to thread between RP and explaining what the hell is going on. When they nail it, I'm sold. 7/10 overall.

i recently wrote this cockles manifesto, but after it got a lot of notes and i kept adding more links to it, i decided i should just go through my 8 years of archives and compile all the cockles posts in a much more accessible and navigable way. after everything with the series finale and destielgate, i figured we could use some happiness, and it turns out there are a lot of people who’ve never heard the cockles gospel.

Challenge 8 (Part 3) The... END?
WE’RE KIDDING. THERE IS NO PART 3. WE JUST WANTED TO JOKE WITH YOU GUYS FOR THE LAST TIME LMAO.
[Anya’s Message]
After a rollercoaster of an eighth season for the OC, I just would like to thank everyone for being with us and sharing your time as we all try to get by during this scarily uncertain time. We started the OC sometime during the start of my senior year, and I’m only now two months away from graduating! Having the OC has helped keep me sane at my last uni year here at home, and I’d like to thank all of you for wanting to be a part of this. I’ve always wanted to be host and you guys have brought such an amazing cast of characters with rich backstories into the mix. So thank you thank you thank you for making this OC come to life.
To Myr, who brought in Alassie and kept her principles and advocacies rooted in valid and important issues faced by Indigenous People and have made some of the spiciest edits through her edits and the details in those song titles.
To Ana, who created Suzy with her fearlessness to have fun but also have fun with Raffy and her constant energy in RPs.
To Bri, who always makes wonderful characters like Ivy who just knows how to hit the right romantic moment beats in RPs.
To Milo, who continues to write some of the funniest dialogue with Rhea and some of the best and funniest grade A fics.
To Sanji, whose put in so much wonderful effort and detail with Diana and who I still suspect as Lady Illéa– I hope she becomes the embodiment of “mom I am a rich man.
To Simone, with her attention to detail in creating such real-feeling characters that is so alive in Nellie who we hope would reach her dreams and would heal from her past with her parents.
To Ester, we hope engineering exams are treating you well and who has brought in such detail and fun with Kaden into Sam’s life and making him so flustered.
To Emi, who continues to pull off such rich and beautiful characters with fics to match in Andreia, and keeps Archie’s life just as colorful and grounded.
To Anna, who never fails to bring characters out with such elaborate details that are fun to always look back on with Meredith.
To Elise, who keeps RPs always spicy and fun and for collectively making all of us 🔪🔪🔪 against the character of Illinois Jones with Ramona and bringing in the live ape cam and being our trusty song blogger and tagger.
Most especially, I’d want to thank Chris, beautiful and wonderful and ever patient Chris who listened to my own crack theories about everyone and for grounding me when things in the OC became overwhelming. I couldn’t have asked for a better co-host who brought to life half of the cast of characters we had, bringing in our steadfast Sam and our lovable Archie into the side romance team and making Sam and Archie her own characters which are better than any way I could have played them. It’s been an honor to be your co-host and you’re always one of my reasons for going at it. Here’s to retirement? HAHA
Lastly, Elise and Anna: who have made it literally phYSICALLY AND MATHEMATICALLY difficult to choose a winner between Ramona and Meredith, you’ve done both great jobs throughout this whole OC. Thank you for giving this so much of your effort and energy and making this such a difficult decision.

HELLO! for the last time from this account, I suppose, which is sad but refreshing at the same time... I have been feeling a bit emotional lately so I’m sorry if this gets... weird or like “what are you even talking about, Chris.”
First of all you must remember how terrified I was to host an OC before I begged Anya to join the ride and I want to thank for all the encouraging and supportive words back then. It wasn’t so hard to convince me, but it was certainly hard to calm my nerves. You all did great at that! I’m glad you did because otherwise I really wouldn’t have done it and I would miss the opportunity to finally host with Anya. Many of you maybe don’t know but she and I had tried to host before a few times and... we are here now! at the end of this OC! All because she took well to accept me, and share with me all these characters she already had created. I’m still thinking Anya was incredibly kind to share Archie, Alessandra, Samuel and Bellamy for me to make them part mine to mess with hehe I certainly hope still I didn’t ruin the image she had of them.
It was as challenging as incredible to host this OC along side with Anya. She always being ahead, anticipating things, using her magical and amazingly useful documents, sheets, CODE!! I was in awe! During this process we stressed, we work hard, we... get conflicted sometimes haha but not more than we enjoyed and scream with every epic moment you all help us create in rps and for that I’m beyond thankful.
THANK YOU, really thank you for letting us meet these special ladies. Not only special as character but also as ideas that came out of your creative minds. I know how much energy, research and love it’s behind a character and having that in mind I am still excited about the fact I had the opportunity to interact with almost everyone of them!! I wish everyone could get someone but unfortunately, there’s a limit of voices I can keep inside my head before it explodes! But your characters were unique in their own ways and getting to know their goals, their motivations and their vulnerabilities was a BIG deal for me! Thank you everyone again for let them apply to this selection and making each rp this thing full of emotions!! jdfkjhgbfg Thank you also for bear with us!
I still remember how HARD was to make decisions when it was my turn to make them and I really don’t miss those times but I still mean what I say on those posts. Thanks for going for the sides and show them so much love. I really enjoyed the fact they were able not only to find ~true love~ but also to develop nice and meaningful friendships.
I don’t address you individually because Anya already do that and I can’t do it better.
As I said we cried, we SCREAM (in a good and in a bad way sometimes), we get 🥺🥺🥺 but most of all I had and I’m still having FUN!!! My men got their good share of gorgeous, talented, and extremely wonderful girls courtesy of two excellent friends Emi and Ester who have been the most comprehensive and now have to deal with my ideas and my random babbling about future plans, etc... I really hope they have the nerve to shut me up when it’s needed hahaha. I know Archie and Samuel LOVE their girls SO SO SO MUCH no matter what they are saying or doing because you know men are dumb.
In resume, recognition to everyone for the effort, for the creativeness, for being here despite how hard real life can get with school, work, thesis, family, holidays... In the end, the idea is to get some fun and nice distraction from all that, in this game. Hope you, after all enjoyed it as much as I did /do <333

@lazuliquetzal, the mind that brought you EvilCon and Roleswap AU, and I have been working on an EXTENSIVE meta AU revolving around internet flame wars, dramatic LiveJournal posts, Tumblr meltdowns, antique fan culture, conventions, and terrible memes. Due to the nature of a meta AU I can’t quite post what I’ve written here, but I thought I’d share the concept and some of the jokes with you. FanWank: The Rise and Fall of The Magnus Archives
The Magnus Archives was a workplace scifi sitcom that aired from 1993-2001. Like a weird mix of X-Files and The Mary Tyler Moore show, it was mainly a light-hearted workcom with some minor mystery and supernatural elements.
The cast of Gertrude Robinson, Emma Harvey, Fiona Law, Eric Delano, and useless audience insert Michael Shelley were well-beloved for all young geeks. The show became a cult classic for its depictions of strong women, minor occultism, and reoccurring joke character Jurgen Leitner.
Most notably, The Magnus Archives is remembered as one of the first cult shows to become popular with the advent of the internet. Early Usenet forums, the first fan convention, and email listserv fanfiction marked it in history along with X-Files as one of the first fandom spaces populated mostly by women who idolized Gertrude Robinson.
All of this changed in Season 8.
Fans everywhere were shocked and offended when Season 8 'jumped the shark' and 'ruined the characters' of the lovable cast. Suddenly, Eric had disappeared mysteriously? Emma Harvey had KILLED Fiona and Sarah? Gertrude KILLED MICHAEL SHELLEY? ELIAS KILLED GERTRUDE?
Nobody ever forgave TMA. FandomWank wiki had a field day. To this day there are internet history videos. The hate trolling, the dramatic fandom divorces, the setting fire to TMA merch - the internet never forgave, and it never forgot. The fandom dropped it in disgust, citing misogyny and cheap stunts just to prop up failing ratings. The cult classic sci-fi workcom TMA was destined to fade into obscurity and bitter memories.
Until it was rebooted on the CW Channel in 2012.
Rebranded The Magnus Archives: Jonathan Sims, it featured a new cast of characters with some old favorites. With the announcement of a new cast, a boring stuck-up male, and the promise of utter degradation of Gertrude Robinson's memory, the internet devolved into flame wars and hate trolling.
The writing was on the wall: there was no way TMA:JS would ever succeed.
Until Tumblr got its hands on it.

Unpopular Opinion /lh /rp
Talking about dSMP character’s heights and sort of their body types? Not in a weird way just in a ‘how I imagine them’ way. Loosely based off of their irl heights, but some of them I don’t know, so it’s mostly guesswork and vibes. Also if you disagree you’re wrong. (Just kidding leave your ideas in the tags/replies)
Obviously this is all roleplay/character stuff. None of it is intended to be weird or to reflect on the irl people! I’m just having fun with headcanons :)
Tommy is 6′3 and very very lanky. This child is not short. Stop drawing him short. He’s taller than Techno. He’s not as tall as Wilbur, but he’s tall. He towers over most people. Emphasis on most because everyone is so tall on this server what the hell?
Anyway I think the mental image of this super tall kid actively trying to make himself look shorter/smaller is heartbreaking. Like imagine him curled up into a corner trying to make himself as unnoticable as possible in Logsted. Imagine him slouching when living with Techno to try to make himself seem like less of a ‘problem’. Imagine Dream telling him that he’s a ‘big strong man’ and that he shouldn’t need help, he can defend himself, so when he goes back to Tubbo, he tries to make himself look *tiny* as a cry for help. He wants comfort.
But he’s also incedibly skinny. Back in L’manburg and Pogtopia, he developed some muscle from all the fighting. His shoulders broadened out and he looked slightly intimidating. But like most teenage boys, he was still lanky as hell. This only got worse when he was exiled to Logstedshire, with little food (and no drive to eat the food, or get up, or exersise) he became more malnourished and he just looked *small* despite being 6′3. This probably isn’t helped by the constant use of golden apples when he moves in with Techno, which give him energy and strength but no real nutritional value. Techno was just trying to get the kid to eat normally. When he finally stands at his full height, Techno is shocked that he didn’t notice all the slouching.
Anyway Techno is 6′2. He’s taller than a lot of people but not as tall as his brothers. He makes up for this with muscle and strength and a healthy body. Wow, the only healthy person on the server. Amazing. You love to see it. Good for him. He could win in a battle of raw strength against anyone else on the server. He’s quite broad, which makes him look bigger generally.
Wilbur is 6′5 and also he is a stick. Just. Straight up and down stick. Nothing there! He is just a pale sickly stick. This gets worse the further into the timeline you go. When claiming L’manburg and fighting in the war he starts to get insomnia, causing him to look like a corpse half the time. When in Pogtopia, he’s too busy to take care of himself properly, so he only looks worse and worse. His hair is a mess, his skin is far too pale, and he only eats enough to be able to hold his own in a short fight. There’s a reason he doesn’t wear armour or really try to fight at all. He’s subconciously self-destructive, then actively so when he blows the place to the ground. He’s always been too busy for self-care.
Ghostbur is a much more healthy, younger version of Wilbur. I would say he’s ‘water rising’ era Wilbur. The life returned to his body, in a morbid kind of way. He’s still tall but he prefers to make himself seem shorter just to be less threatening.
Phil is 5′11. He has an average build, with slight muscle from the years of playing in hardcore. He’s older, now, but he can still kick your ass. Also, he taught Techno how to fight smart, not hard. He doesn’t need to be super strong because he’s intelligent enough to outwit most people on the server. He has a wordly knowledge that others don’t possess. He also has wings, large and grey, clipped so he could get onto the server (there is a no flying rule after all).
Fundy is... 5′10, just a little shorter than Phil. His fox genes make him smaller, despite his father being 6′5. He’s got a healthy, svelte build. He’s sneaky and light on his feet. In the wars he built up some muscle, but it was quickly lost since he prefers to take a backseat to any fighting outside of those times (especially now) and he’s built for spying.
Schlatt is an interesting one because a lot of people are gonna fight me on this, but he’s not actually old. Everyone calls him old but honestly I think he’s younger than Wilbur (in canon, I feel like Wilbur is in his late 30s, early 40s, simply because). I think Schlatt’s around 35-ish, but he looks older due to his shitty health. People call him an old man either to demean him or because they see his actions and appearance and go ‘yeah, this guy is old’. Which is fair enough, because irl Schlatt and c!Schlatt both act like they’re from the 1950s.
This guy looks like shit by the end, but he looks alright at the start. Slicked-back hair, sharp ram horns, golden animalistic eyes. He’s intimidating. And loud. Then everything shifts, right towards the end. He’s frail and deteriorating throughout his short presidency, and by the end of it he’s practically a corpse, just like Wilbur.
He’s 6′3, with broad shoulders and a silhouette that seems strong not only because he carries himself as if he can fight, but also because of the percieved power that comes along with it. In reality, Schlatt is a poor fighter, and the abuse he ends up putting his body through (working out excessively to try to fight his condition, and turning to alcoholism as an escape) completely destroys him, making him probably one of the least healthy and weakest people on the server. It doesn’t really show until his death scene, since he’s covered up the deterioration since day one. Basically, mans is dead.
Glatt, or Ghost Schlatt, or whatever you want to call him, would be a healthier Schlatt. Again, from the ‘water rising’ era. I headcanon him to have longer hair in that era. Not sure why.
Ranboo is the same height as tommy, but is more naturally lithe than made that way by lack of food. His enderman DNA can be blamed for that. He’s healthy most of the time, but may have spirals where he doesn’t take good care of himself (perhaps he forgets) and he looks pretty bad. If he goes a few days without keeping up his self-care routine, he looks a lot worse than he actually is. Sleep tends to be his biggest issue, his mind keeping him awake all night and leaving him looking like shit in the morning. Really, he’s just a kid with a troubled soul, and it shows sometimes. Most days, though, he looks very well put together.
Tubbo. He’s 5′6. He’s more childlike than Tommy, which only makes it worse when he acts in the way he does in season 2. He has burn scars across one side of his body, from his execution, and he is partially blind in one eye because of it. He takes very good care of himself, since he has to look good while being president if he wants those sweet sweet approval ratings. But when he’s super stressed, he will pull all-nighters and forget to eat. He’s got a lot of issues, but his body is very normal and healthy, all things considered.
Quackity is 5′8. Which is really funny because that’s his actual height. He’s less sharp (?) than a lot of people on the server, but he has some muscle because he’s constantly training to ‘take down Technoblade’ (in reality, it’s a habit he picked up in Schlatt’s era, and never had the heart to drop). He tries his best to stay healthy (again, to better kill Techno) and he’s careful with his life, knowing that it’s his last.
Niki is 5′5. She’s also able to kick so much ass. That is all.
Dream is a bitch and therefore I will not be discussing him. Also he’s a blob or whatever so I guess height is irrelevant. Or maybe he’s a mysterious figure with a mask. Who knows.

Sometimes I literally HAVE DREAMS about the animorphs chatrooms I was in as a kid, like when I was 11. I have physical dreams of being in this chatroom AS A SPACE because it was a personal website based, hand coded chatroom, pre-AOL style honestly kind of like the chatrooms in #16 were portrayed, but not QUITE that weird (but like, it's more realistic and less boomer than most people think). You had to refresh constantly to see if there were new messages.
It was called Kimmeree's AniChat and it was run by the two of the OG Animorphs BNFs (as far as I can tell from my 10 year old self's memory and understanding of how fandom worked). It was an RP chat with like a dozen different rooms for different settings the characters could be in. But I wasn't old enough for the RP chats and I didn't know what they were doing really, so I only hung out in the OOC chat, and that was called The Space Bar, and there was usually only very loose RP in it and I mostly lurked because I was a small child and everyone else was like 15 to 21-ish, but SOMETIMES I would try to participate and I was very cringe and annoying because all I wanted to do was talk about anime

reviewing all the Hacker related flashbacks because i have no life;
1. Day At the Spa (season 1)
this was a really loaded bit of lore to drop. this show is also super vague about the past so even as an adult it’s super easy to just miss things like oh, hacker used to work for motherboard. so anything this explicit is just pure gold, even when a pretty basic and short scene (8/10)
2. Piece of Action (season 3)
we really did not get enough flashbacks in this show, but this is probably top tier in an otherwise pretty mediocre episode. not to mention it is the scene that pretty much single handedly inspired my rp blog. there is so much to analyze here and just so much ham from hacker. brilliant (11/10)
3. Past Perfect Prediction/Measure for Measure (season 4)
these two hurt me so bad, but i love them anyways. coop being shocked and disappointed that hacker would turn on motherboard does kind of confirm they did have a pretty good relationship and coop being the first person hacker betrays is just tragic. the only thing that i could have wished for is maybe if the flashback had actually been a talking scene? (10/10)
4. The Flying Parallinis (season 5)
its only season 5 and they’re already messing with their own continuity? well kinda sort, but i really don’t like the idea that anyone just causally goes to the northern frontier. even before hacker made it is permanent home. otherwise this flashback is pretty inconsequential (5/10)
5. Father’s Day (season 7)
a photo album flashback but like whyyy? this whole episode is just weird. like hacker could be pretty petty before but i feel like the grudged needed to be a lot more meaningful and the revenge a lot more crushing. like maybe totally just destroy the parade? kidnap creech? this is the first one that really just tarnishes hacker’s character (3/10)
6. Back to Canalia’s Future (season 11)
this is literally pointless (1/10)
7. Hacker Hugs a Tree (season 12)
this episode was so stupid and it actually does mess up the continuity big time. hacker doesn’t explicitly hate trees, but he’d more likely hack down greenery indiana jones style than hug them. nature would be something to conquer rather than enjoy (0/10)
8. Composting in the Clutch (season 12)
okay i actually like of liked this one despite the flash looking so ugly. it’s not all that illuminating, but i do like hacker’s teen run away vibes (6/10)

... well. currently isn’t the right word, because i stopped.. like 1/3 from the ending and forgot to continue it ( like a clown, i know ). but it’s song of achilles and i really enjoyed it. gonna get on circe next once i’m... eventually done with it.
3. how are we feeling about 2021 so far?
it’s somethin’, ain’t it? not as brutal for me, personally, but there’s still a ton of time for that to change.
4. name one piece of media that has gone through a recent critical re-evaluation that you really loved to see.
i cannot think of a single thing for the life of me. so i’ll just.. say what i rewatch / read / listened to recently?? on my third rerun of schitt’s creek ‘cause that’s my emotional support show. relistening to the magnus archives bc i’m clearly a glutton for pain when it comes to 230273205 seasons of dense material.

a fucking rat bastard, and can be an actual rat, that will absolutely gnaw on your ankle if close enough while simultaneously stealing your wallet.
6. what is your favorite scent in the world? describe it!
wow what a toughie. i’d have to go with fresh laundry but mainly in the form of blankets and pillow. fresh from the dryer and you just swaddle yourself and i just get immense peace from it.
7. how involved in politics are you?
not that involved if i’m being real honest. i don’t go searching for the latest news ( even though i should, i know ), and happen to hear tidbits from friends that are more involved.

tapioca pudding is horrid. i dont care if grits and oatmeal are of the sameish texture ( altho i loathe grits ). i dont want to be gummin’ that shit unless i don’t have any teeth left.
10. what is a current fad in the rpc community that you dislike?
god i’ve honestly like given up caring for just about everything in the rpc at this point. idk if it’s considered a fad, but i’m real tired of the members vs. admins debate that’s been circulating. it’s a push and pull y’all. both sides gotta put in some work for a rpg to take off and stay active. indie wise ig folks that only base their decision to interact based off of fcs alone. it’s weird. stop it.
11. anyways, what’s the hot gossip? i love some drama. online or offline.
i haven’t come by anything hinky on here recently thank goodness. used to get plagued with that kinda stuff, but it’s all old news ( altho i do have some inch resting rp horror stories if any mutuals want to know just dm me ).
the only hot gos i have is about work. apparently one of my coworkers had driven himself up the wall, because he didn’t like the election turnout. huge conspiracy theorist in regards to covid and all of that. and he hadn’t been in work because he was admitted into a mental hospital so uh.. there’s that.

glee ask meme 1-8?
1) Favorite original club member?
Kurt! No doubt, Kurt. Most inspiring, most groundbreaking, (yes, he was handled incredibly poorly and deserved better even from season 1, but he was the first gay character I ever saw on TV at the ripe old age of 9) most talented, and most lovable. He’s just a quality character, through and through.
2) Favorite character introduced in s2/3?
SEBASTIAN! I love the rat bastard!!! I LOVE him!
3) Favorite s4 newbie?
This might be a weird take, but I had so much hope built up around Jake’s character in the first episode. There’s this specific sound motif they use every time he has a tough moment (not getting into glee club initially, for example) which I thought was going to be used to explore anger issues. Then they used the same motif for Marley when he turned out to be with Kitty, and all hope of nuance died... but, yeah. I honestly don’t like how any of the newbies were handled in canon, but I think Jake has the most potential to become interesting with better care to his writing than RIB would offer.
4) Favorite s6 newbie?
I love Madison. I adore her. It’s a combination of me being a Laura Dreyfuss simp and the work I’ve done with her in RP groups, but I just think she’s adorable and she deserved more!
5) Favorite adult character?
Sue. I know, I know, my fave is problematic— but even she knew that. Aside from season 6 Sue (we don’t talk about season 6 Sue) she was always this incredible, larger than life character, and even though everything she did was ridiculous, there’s not a single second throughout all of glee where she’s on screen and it’s boring.
6) Favorite guest star?
ADAM LAMBERT!!! King!!! Elliott was a total sweetheart, and seeing Kurt with some honest to god LGBT friends with no baggage, no toxic background dragging down their cute friendship moments??? Iconic.
7) Least favorite character(s)?
Blaine. Bye bitch. I fucking hate him. I feel like anybody who’s following me by now has an in-depth understanding of why.
8) Character you’re indifferent about?
I don’t think indifferent is the right word. I’ve spent way too long obsessing about this dumbass show to be indifferent about any of them, so I guess I’ll talk about who I’m most neutral on?
That would be Alistair from season 6. He just... added nothing? He was just A Boyfriend Character and we didn’t see anything from him - granted there was very limited time for anything like that to happen, of course. Even so, he just felt like he contributed the least.

Okay, so hear me out ...
I was reading some fic this week. I haven’t had time to read a lot of fic lately, not for months. It’s really made me think.
Me Without You has been a bigger thing than I thought it would be. When I started it, it was mostly my Season 8 salt and I thought it would probably get the usual hate and I’d slink back off into RP where I can play what I like, which is pretty much what I did after Queensguard. It was a present for a friend and probably I should have just sent it to her and not posted it and had done with it.
But people liked it, people understood where I was coming from and I got nice comments and people wanted to chat to me, people had theories about where I was going with it etc. Honestly, for someone who has lived life on the periphery of everything, I can’t tell you how intoxicating that is! Thank you so much everyone for everything you have invested in this story, and invested in me. It’s been truly, truly lovely to experience.
Reading those amazing fics has made me realise that I am really, really far off base with this story right now. I know this is not news to anyone, but I think I got carried away and went off the deep end a while ago. Like ... about thirty chapters ago!
This, unfortunately, is a persistent problem with my writing, and if I’m brutally honest with myself, it’s why I frequently fail to sell my pitches or ideas. My brain is a very weird place, and while in some ways that’s a strength, it also means I very easily lose my connection with my audience. I’ve felt that for some time now, maybe since the beginning of Jaime Without Brienne where I knew deep down that changing the POV was a mistake, but I think I kept doubling down on it because I thought I had the chops to ride it out.
I’ve lost the heart and soul of this by making it so big. I’m not writing a fic any more, it’s nothing like any of those others that I read this week, and honestly, I can do it better. I wanted it to be a grounded, human story, and I’ve lost that utterly. I’m so so sorry for that.
That is, I suppose, the trouble with exposing what is essentially a first draft to hundreds of people. All the mistakes you make are committed to. I’ve also written 4,000-6,000 words a week since early December, and burnout has contributed a lot to the problems the fic has. I can only apologise for my ambition outstripping my abilities!
I’m not 100% sure what I’m going to do yet. Options at the moment include a rewrite as a sort of AU, an alternate version of the story. Or just holding my nose and finishing it and chalking it up to experience! I don’t want to abandon it if I can help it, but I do want to acknowledge what’s gone wrong and I want to be able to sort it out if I’m able to.
I hope this doesn’t come across as a flounce or a breakdown of some sort. I am, I promise, perfectly fine. It’s basically me explaining why there may be a little delay this week as I think these mahoosive issues through!

So I’m preparing to go out and by a new sketchbook cause I’m running out of pages on my practice one, I’m also doing this and also thinking about the stickers I’ll print to add to the cover.
5. Four fandoms that you have piqued your interest?
This is gonna be fun cause they have so little in common
-Transformers: From a young age I’ve loved them robots in disguise, I still love them but I’m not active in the fandom and it’s been a while since last time I drew my ocs or any fanart for that matter, but! I do read the comics and rewatch my fave shows from time to time.
-Wakfu: but in a very weird way as in I started playing the game after rewatching the show and then got too invested in the characters I created there and made a whole story on them, and like recently they’ve announced season four and suddenly I’m having the urge to draw my characters again.
-Phantom of the Opera: From a young age, just like Transformers, young me watched the 2004 film cried a lot and I’ve been a fan of PotO ever since, I was so excited when they streamed the 25th anniversary recording that I got really into it again...
-But then CATS happened! as in I liked Cats before but never got into the fandom or too into it, then the movie came, watched the 1998 version too and here we are now!
6. How has the pandemic been treating you?
Thanfully not too badly!
7. A song you can’t stop listening to right now?
So, cannot name any specific song cause my brain does this thing where it will only allow me to listen to one soundtrack on loop over and over again rahter than one single song. so currently? Hairspray and Cats, the Japanese cast recording of it

Oh boy, I haven’t watched one in a while actually, so I don’t have any recommendations for you

Turned 21 last week...ish

University, and it’s a ✨struggle✨

Cold, I cannot deal with the heat at all. Cannot sleep at all during the summers, cannot go out without the sun burning me to a crisp, and always am stuck babysitting younger relatives at the pool so not that fun either.

So I’m extremely shy when meeting others and so appear to be very quiet, but I actually was born with very loud speakers attached to me, but they only work properly when I know you (@/my irl friends and probably online ones i send voice messages to too I’m so sorry about being so loud )

Extremely so, it’s yet another struggle

15. Biggest pet peeves?
When people touch my things without permission, even more so when they’ve been explicitly told not to do so. It really does get on my nerves.

I don’t think there is anything you’d need to know? other than maybe if you wanna chat or something just drop a message, I struggle with starting conversations cause I’m awkward as fuck a first, bu soon enough you’ll be having to deal with me sending you doodles at random moments of the day or showing you weird things I found while walking outside.

30 Questions: GW2 Edition
Got tagged for this, let’s do it.
1: Favorite living world season?
LWS4, it was fun and I enjoyed most of it. The prior seasons kinda dragged at points or had parts that were a slog to do. But I genuinely had a good time, or was balling my eyes out with emotion, during season 4.
2: Favorite expansion?
Path of Fire. Once again, it was fun and there are very few points were I get frustrated because of the game play. Also, I love desert maps???
3: Favorite soundtrack?
I genuinely love most the music in the game but the HoT soundtrack has some absolute jams. One of my favorites is The Itzel.
4: First profession you played?
Elementalist. And it’s still my favorite to play as.
5: First race you played?
Sylvari.
6: Favorite Destiny's Edge character?
Zojja. Bring her back, Anet!
7: Favorite Dragon's Watch character?
I love them all? But it’s probably a close tie between Braham and Taimi.
8: Favorite Elder Dragon?
Aside from Aurene? Because, come on, it’s Aurene! We all love her. I guess I’d have to say Mordremoth. Probably because I’m a sylvari main and the angst potential with plant dad is off the charts. The fight with him just felt so personal. Also he looks like a big doofy catfish and I love it.
9: Best boss fight (story)?
Commander Lonai. I love all the gimmicks is this fight. Love the changing locations and the world bosses in the backgrounds. Love where it ends and your sappy bonding with Braham.
10: Best boss fight (fractal)?
Viirastra. Probably because it’s near the end of the fractal “story” and it’s such a wild ride your first time through. Also it’s such a wacky fight.
11: Best boss fight (raid dungeon)?
Haven’t done raids, so we’ll answer for dungeons instead! Giganticus Lupicus from Arah, all the way! He was such a challenging fight the first time through, especially going in blind. But now I love defeating him with less and less effort each time.
12: PvE or PvP or RP?
PvE, would love to RP more than once in a blue moon. Hopefully, one day I’ll find my people.
13: Favorite canon couple?
Marjory and Kasmeer, hands down.
14: Favorite fanon/self made couple?
My beautiful lesbians, Mave and Eriie!
15: Favorite quote?
I was born to undo your master's work. -Trahearne being raw as fuck.
16: Most emotional cinematic?
The scene with Aurene at the end of War Eternal. I cried, I still get emotional at that part.

Debi Derryberry kills it as Taimi, the sobbing at the end of All or Nothing still punches me in the gut. Also, Sumalee Montano as Marjory. Love that weird noir southern belle she’s got going on. Also, with the gut punching emotion in Icebrood Saga like damn.

The landscape isn’t the focus but this is the best I got. And nights in Rata Sum are gorgeous!

It used to be the griffon but then skyscale happened. I haven’t looked back since.

Resplendent Avialan for raptor. Sun Temple Gecko for springer. Magnificent Hummingbird for skimmer. Vabbian Lightpaw for jackal. Nightfang for griffon. Starshell for roller beetle. Outrider for warclaw. Shimmerwing for skyscale.
22: Favorite weapon?
Either the Eclipse Greatsword or the Voice of Metal Warhorn.
23: Favorite gear set?
For light armor it’s either the Nightmare Court or Carapace set. For medium armor it’s either the Inquest or Magitech set. For heavy armor it’s the Phalanx set.
24: Favorite title?
Spirited Drinker. I had fun farming the Wintersday events for the festive drinks.
25: Something you worked really hard to get?
Kinda related to the above question but: Winter’s Presence! Also, the Glacial Gauntlets! That minotaur fight is wack.

The Herald!
27: Most used miniature?
A toss up between the Feline Familiar and Chauncey. However, my most coveted is the Mini Awakened Abomination. I want it so bad!

Chairs. Specifically the Pirate Captain’s Chair because of Captain Nels.

30: Something you’d love to see in GW2?
This is gonna seem random but: Maces for mesmers! The Moot is one of my fav legendaries and I have a disco loving norn mesmer who it would be perfect for! I have been kinda “meh” about making legendaries but I would jump on it if I could get my girl that mace!
