Book 7 Chapter 3

***SPOILERS AHEAD FOR BOOK 7 CHAPTER 3 AHEAD!!***

...I'm not even sure where to begin with chapter 3...

I'm still reeling from the way they ended the previous chapter

We start off seeing Idia sleeping, but Idia dreaming about Ortho being alive, Idia having more confidence, and being unable to be afraid to speak to other students.

....and then Malleus's mysterious timing, him being super perceptive about Idia possibly waking up from his dream. I WAS REELING LIKE MALLEUS!!

YOU REALLY TURNED INTO A FULL FLEDGE VILLAIN!!

Also side note, was anybody else like me losing their minds during the entrance ceremony?! Just seeing everyone interacting like it's totally normal EVEN THO THEY AREN'T REAL?!

SEEING THESE TWO, I HAD TO STOP AND SOB MY EYES OUT LIKE WHY MALLEUS I WANT TO SEE MY BEST FRIENDS SAFE AND SOUND!!

MALLEUS MALLEUS MALLEUS MALLEUS I WANT TO SEE EVERYONE I LOVE YOU, BUT I WANT TO SEE EVERYONE ESPECIALLY THESE TWO LITTLE SHITS I LOVE SO MUCH

So, of course I'm curious as to where we were, and when they showed Mickey's room I HOLLERED, HOT DIGGITY DOG, AND SCREAMED LIKE A PSYCHOPATH

MICKEY MOUSE!? WE FINALLY MEET IN PERSON!? AND WITH MY HAIRY BABY BOI GRIM!?!? I WAS FLABBERGASTED!

LOOK AT THIS! LOOK AT IT!!

I NEVER IMAGINED THIS DAY WOULD COME, BUT THIS DUO TOGETHER IS SO FREAKIN CUTE!!!

But as I'm watching this happen, I realize Malleus intentionally cut us out of the picture, out of everyone's reality, because he experienced many different emotions but yet was vulnerable around us since we don’t see him in a terrifying way while also appreciating life because of meeting us and getting to know the others at NRC…

The one thing that really really, REALLY concerns me is this reference from Mickey

.......Something is going to happen to Ace and Deuce, right? And it won't be a good thing considering the cards are covered in ink...

I have a small suspicion (and hope pls don't judge me) that we get to see other overblot forms. Like potentially Ace and Deuce, but the thought of that IS NOT OKAY I DON'T WANT ANY HARM TO HAPPEN TO THEM!

And as we're about to get attacked by these blot monsters, Silver just coming to save us was amazing! Whoever does the VO for Silver is so damn good

I'm not used to seeing Silver show so many emotions, but he could be the perfect definition of a night in shining armor.

AND WE LEARNED SILVER'S UNIQUE MAGIC AND ITS SO COL!

So we only have Ace, Lilia, Sebek and potentially Grim (also maybe Ortho but I'm not too sure on that) that haven't gotten or revealed their unique magic.

IF ACE IS THE LAST ONE TO GET HIS UNIQUE MAGIC I'M GONNA LAUGH BUT ALSO SCREAM BUT I REALLY REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT HE GETS

I won't talk too much about Ortho interacting with his parents, but it was incredibly heartwarming that even though Ortho is a humanoid, they still love and treat him as their own child.

Damn Disney, you really know how to get the waterworks going

As we're watching Sebek's dream, I'm just incredibly nervous about how Malleus was acting completely normal, and I wasn't entirely sure if Malleus was monitoring everyone's dreams or what...

Welp, I was right. Once Silver spoke to Sebek and reminded him about Lilia leaving and potentially dying, Malleus lost his goddam shit

Did anybody else absolutely get scared shitless?! I mean he's fucking gorgeous and I love him

But I did not expect to have goddamn chills and become extremely nervous instantly.

MALLEUS IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING, I TELL YA

THE FACT THAT MALLEUS IS LITERALLY DOING ANYTHING HE CAN TO KEEP EVERYONE IN THEIR DREAMS TO "MAKE THEM HAPPY" TO THE POINT OF PUTTING US BACK UNDER ANOTHER SLEEPING SPELL IS REALLY SCARY

MALLEUSSSSSS WHYYYYYYY

AND THE RING HELPED US ESCAPE!! SILVER, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR YOU!?!?!

AND FINALLY, we witness Lilia as a war general AND HE LOOKS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING YET ALSO TERRIFYING (but not as terrifying as someone who completely changed and now scares the absolute living shit out of me)

AND AND AND we FINALLY got the teaser for Lilia's SSR card, folks!

LILIA?! LILIA VANROUGE!?! LIKE WOW OKAY HE LOOKS FUCKING AMAZING THIS IS WITHOUT A DOUBT MY FAVORITE CARD OF HIS

I'm sorry it took so long to post this, but I'm super excited (and of course nervous) to see what happens next with Lilia's dream!

BUT I JUST WANT TO SEE ADEUCE TOGETHER WITH US AGAIN I MISS THEM AND I WANT TO SEE WHAT THEY DREAM ABOUT

Until then, we can only wait till Thursday for the next update...

(Also, this image was amazing to see I love everything about Sleeping Beauty so I was fangirling like a psycho but I love how heavily involved the movie elements are used in Book 7)

Enough for now~~! Let me just go imagine everyone's dreams and while also coping with the fact that we’re going to get more heartbreak and angst THAT IM NOT READY FOR!!

Idia: There was less than a 30% chance, so why was I chosen…?

Idia: And on top of that, the three selected were Malleus-shi, Azul-shi, and me… All Dorm Leaders…?

Idia: That's gotta be a statistical anomaly!! I demand a re-do!!

Ortho: Ni-san…

Ortho: I came all this way to Diasomnia to check in on you, 'cause it felt like it was taking forever for you to come back…

Ortho: But now I see you were just clinging to a pillar in the dorm lounge refusing to practice. No wonder you weren't coming back at all.

Idia: Ortho, you're here to pick me up, right!? Okay, let's team up and head back to Ignihyde.

Ortho: Hmmm. I don't know if I can do that, even if you're the one asking me…

Idia: Eh. Why!?

Ortho: That's 'cause I'd be happy, too, if you'd sing in front of everyone!

Idia: You little…!

Sebek: Hey, human! Why don't you try to be a little more like Malleus-sama!

Sebek: Despite his already melodious singing voice, he wastes no time whatsoever and continues training with Lilia-sama!

Silver: Azul is also practicing hard every day.

Silver: He said he wished to return to basics, so once practice was over, he went to speak to the music teacher.

Idia: I-I can feel the fire burning within those two… B-But that's why I don't want to deal with it!

Idia: But no matter how much I offer to give the main vocal spot to one of the other guys going to the cultural exchange…

Idia: "That would not be fair," they'd say, or "I do not wish to incur Malleus-shi's wrath" and they all refuse me…

Idia: I really want you all to give me a break!

Sebek: I cannot comprehend why you would shirk singing this much… And you call yourself a mage!? How are you even passing your usual music classes?

Sebek: Music are essential in order for a mage to cultivate their imagination.

Silver: That's right. In order to become a distinguished mage, if there is something you aren't proficient in, this would be the best venue to overcome it.

Idia: Th-Th-Th-That's not what I mean…

Ortho: My brother doesn't hate singing, nor is he terrible at it.

Ortho: Back in his room, he's always singing the opening songs of anime, or video game theme songs.

Idia: Ortho… You can't just blab that out to people like that! I'm gonna be lying awake tonight with embarrassment!

Ortho: Why? You're so good at it, so I've been hoping for a while that others can listen to you too.

Ortho: You can sing on key, and your emotions have such an expressive range that even I can tell. I really love your singing voice!

Ortho: That's why I was so happy to hear that you were selected to be one of the main vocalists. Because you're so good.

Idia: Ortho…!

Idia: I mean, sure, I'm glad to hear all that praise… It's nice and all, but…!

Silver: If it isn't a skill issue… Then it must be an issue of self-consciousness.

Idia: Y-Y-Yeah! That!!

Idia: It's too high of a hurdle for me to have to stand in front of others, and sing while being at the c-center of attention…!

Sebek: How weak. Just think of everyone, other than the Young Master, as mere rocks!

Idia: So a huge rock's just trying to lecture me right now. 'K, I'll just ignore it, then.

Silver: Idia-senpai… Allow me to teach you the secret to singing.

Idia: The secret to singing…?

Silver: That's right. This.

Ortho: That's a glass cup filled with drinking water. There doesn't seem to be anything unusual with it…

Idia: Wh-What, you want me to drink this…?

Silver: No, I don't.

Silver: When you see your face reflected in the water like this… Doesn't it feel like a song begins to naturally build up from inside yourself?

Idia: NO, IT DOESN’T!?

Silver: Ever since my father taught me this "ancient method passed down for generations," I've used this approach whenever I required it.

Idia: What do you even mean by "see your face reflected in the water"? I don't get it at all.

Sebek: Unfortunately, I'm also at a loss…

Silver: If that method does not work for you, then you must simply practice.

Silver: As you sing in front of all of us, you'll slowly build up your courage. I'm sure that will help you develop the courage for the actual performance.

Ortho: It's just as Silver-san says. C'mon, Nii-san, you gotta practice, so we can go back to Ignihyde!

Idia: I DON'T WANNA～～～!!

Idia: I'm definitely, absolutely, hundred percent, never going to sing!

MALLEUS ! (Malleus is 10 and the reader is 7!)

"One more! I promise I'll do it right this time big brother!" You've been failing to beat Malleus at sword fighting, you're really trying hard but it seems your brother is better than you at this

"Now, now, Y/n child, don't get so worked up for this, 'kay? I'll teach you once you get older!" Lilia tried to convince you to get a break since it has been 2 hours since you tried to beat your big brother. Malleus had laughed it off

"It's ok y/n, you'll be as great as big brother when you grow older! For now, let's eat some ice cream, 'm gettin' kinda hungry and I want something sweet too" "one more brother! I promise this is the last one!" Truly Malleus had labeled you as someone so persistent and naughty. "Alright alright, no more after this, okay?" "Mhm!"

Once the two of you had started sparring again, Malleus had accidentally hit you in your shoulder too hard which caused a bump.

"Y/n! I'm sorry, are you hurt! I'm really sorry... I..." "ouchie.. that hurts.." Lilia had brought the first aid kit while malleus was crying thinking you were gonna die.

"I'm sorry... I shouldn't have..!" With that Malleus had run off crying inside the castle heading to his bedroom. "Oh dear.. I'll have to talk to him later.." by the end of the day Lilia including you convinced Malleus to get out of his room and that you were fine.

LILIA ! (Reader is the same age with Lilia!)

"Good job! I see improvement" "not as great as you tho!" You had always aspired to be like Lilia, and as amazing as him.

"I wouldn't say that Y/n, you're better than me, you're almost like Lilia too" there goes Malleus, your student like how Lilia teaches him with everything.

"I agree too! You're just as amazing as Lilia!" Of course, Sebek would agree... "Thank you, really. Nevertheless, I still have more to improve" "that's right when you get better, ya better flex on the other students from other dorms" dear there goes Lilia with his slangs again..

"Old man, aren't you too old to be ... talking like that." "I'm never too old Silver!" "Y/n would be better off using those slangs than you" a sarcastic gasp from Lilia was heard

"Dear! After what I've taught you! My sacrifices! My whole life I've taken care of you all! And this is how you treat me?" By the time Lilia opened his eyes everyone was already walking away from the scene. "Everybody? Wait, no! I'm not done yet!"

SEBEK ! (Sebek is 16 and the reader is 14!)

"Brother! I've missed you" Sebek had missed his family ever since he left to attend NRC,

"Y/n! How are you! Your brother has come by to see how our family is" in the Zigvolt family, Sebek was the closest with you, not only are you the youngest that he feels the need to protect but also the one who looks up to him, he needs to ready and be your role model of course!

"I'll tell you all about what happened in NRC, about Malleus, and about me being better than Silver!" You giggled at your brother's remarks, the home felt empty without his loud voice. "You don't have to be better than Silver, brother. To me, you're the best!"

One of the things Sebek liked about his younger sibling was that he doesn't feel the need to be always perfect like how he is with Malleus, Sebek knows he would leave them for you and his whole family. "What do you say, let's sword fight like before?" "Mhm! I missed those!" "Well be ready, because I'm not going to back out!"

SILVER ! (Reader and Silver are both the same age)

"Kiddos, slow down. This ain't a battle, it's just practicing to sword fight!" Lilia tended to be amused whenever you and Silver sparred with each other, it seems that Silver is a lot more focused on not accidentally hurting you. "Let's take a break! I'm sleepy!" "No! You'll only fall asleep" "Silver's right, go take a break! It wouldn't hurt to do so." Although your brother Silver was prone to sleeping, you on the other hand had problems sleeping. "I don't understand how you can't sleep y/n, I've tried to help you sleep.." Silver tried his very best to get you to sleep even at a young age. "Kid, why don't you try sleeping? I got these scented candles and oils to help you sleep, if it doesn't help I'll cook for you! Every time Silver eats what I cook he always falls asleep immediately!" So then you'd force yourself to sleep with what Lilia bought you just for you not to eat those sweets. Hell, maybe Lilia even asked Malleus to talk to you about Gargoyles and History to make you feel sleepy. "Hey, come let's sleep. I promise, after we wake up we can spar again. 'Kay?"

Sebek and Silver's Backstories - Monster AU

lmao can you tell I'm starting to run out of steam? Monsters: Undead partial skeletal/zombie soldier, (Sebek) Baku/dreameater (Silver) (I did take some liberties) Word Count: ~0.42K Relationships Mentioned: Silver + Sebek sibling like bond, Lilia, Sebek's father, random werewolf family TW: Unattached limbs?? thats about it, pretty fluffy actually ----------------------------------------------

"Give it back this instant! As a future retainer to the Great and Honourable Prince Malleus, I won't be moked this way!" Sebek ran frantically between his father's friends sons, his efforts in vain to get his bone back between the two werewolf boys. Silver's attention was drawn to the commotion as Lilia and Sebek's father, and his friend conversed, trudging over to find out what was going on. He kept a tight grip on his pillow and blanket as he settled next to Sebek, who was fuming and near tears at this point, hugging himself with the one arm he had kept. "It's mocked." Silver rubbed his eye sleepily. "Not mocked. And could you two please stop it? My friend needs his arm. If you're looking for bones, my father can show you where the humans bury theirs." Sebek had a small, angry fit over being corrected, but settled, pouting and glaring at the older boys. Evidently, they hadn't heard, or chose not to hear Silver. Silver sighed softly, setting up his blanket, but not for one of his normal naps. "YOU BETTER STOP BEFORE MY BEST FRIEND GETS MY ARM BACK FORC-FORCING.....BY FIGHTING YOU!" Sebek's voice carried much louder than Silver's, causing the boys to stop their play fighting over Sebek's arm, before laughing. "What.....the kid on the ground?" Sebek glanced over to see Silver curled up on his pillow, snoring softly, before grinning widely a the two boys and putting his hands- ....hand on his hip. "I'd give it back right now if I were you! He's charging up!" "He's sleep-" The boy's retort was cut short as his brother sniffled, starting to weep. Immediately he turned to tend to his brother, concerned, but the boy just laughed softly. "Remember when...." He started rambling incoherently about a memory he had forgotten, a positive experience that caused his brother to get emotional as well, hugging him. In doing so, he dropped the bone that was Sebek's arm, giving him time to run in and grab it, shake the saliva off it, and try to reattach it before poking at Silver's back gently with his shoe. "I don't get why you don't just scare them like everyone else woulda done..." Silver stirred slowly, rubbing his eyes, before smiling sleepily at Sebek. "You got your arm back, and nobody got hurt. Why does it matter?" Sebek just huffed in response. "I'll take that as a thank you. Now come on, let's go back to father before they decide they want another bone to chew on."

Yuu made a gambling club they asked Crowly but he refused so they said if He dosen't accept they gonna blackmail him finaly he accept. Yuu is the president who take care of the papers and members , Ortho the vice helps Yuu and count money, Ace the best player that has never lost and takes challenges , Jack and sebek the body gards, Deuce serves the drinks and food and Epel the dancer and the DJ (cuz he's pretty)

Yuu: I'm making Ramshackle a casino. And make a gambling club.

Crowley: No we need to-

Yuu: I'll tell Ambrose about all the fucking overbloats don't fucking test me bitch.

Crowley: ....OK ig-

So Yuu finally said fuck it I'm making more money. So they looked around and decided quick money? Make a casino! And a gambling club!

It's also most of the first years controlling controlling casino too. Like you said Ortho helps with money, Ace is the one that rakes up extra money and making people lose more. Sebek and Jack are body guards. Deuce is the bar tender that only make non alcoholic drinks and if you do want one you need to show ID or he fucks you up. Epel I don't think would like to be a dancer but if he gets to punch people that get too close he'll do it. Also he dresses in a dress to throw off the boys gambling and distracting the table from thinking right. Because they all want to impress him. He also DJ's on weekends when Vil isn't trying to dress him up. Grim is just there being pampered. If you get in his good graces Yuu might be good to you.

Yuu payed off Idia to make a Security system and a vault for all the money. It's hidden deep in Ramshackle since no one knows where to go. The first years and Idia only know where it is. They also got Azul in a contract that he can put a small restaurant in Ramshackle for Floyd and Jade to play bodyguards too. He agrees since it can bring more business for him. Vil is able to come and preform or help Epel when he does. Kalim goes just to have fun but he has so much money that he dosen't care if he wins or loses. Jamil makes sure he wins.

Riddle flipped his script when he found out but since Crowely gave the stamp of approval he can't do anything. And also that so many big names support Yuu's casino like Malleus, Leona, and Kalim. He usually goes there to wind down and only plays cards he always wins even Ace can't beat him. Trey helps make high quality desserts and other foods. Jamil helps sometimes if Kalim rents out the place to have a party.

Malleus comes sometimes. One time a boy thought he could beat him and bet everything. He had. He lost since Malleus has beginner's luck even though he dosen't throw wtf he's doing. The boy lost his temper so he lost feeling in his left arm. Sebek saw and Silver did too. Let's just say he got taught a lesson out back. Lilia goes there to reek havoc. Silver acts like a body gaurd too.

The Casino gets more attention when Cater and Vil live streamed it on Magicam. All of Vil's fans from schools asked Crowely if they could come Yuu made him agree it it. Bow 10 different school go here to lose money. Neige even came but always lost to Vil. He wins against everyoen else though. Leona comes only to get Vip along with other Dormwardens. Ruggie is given a lot of money and he goes and gambles. He always wins. Rook goes to observe Vil and Epel making sure the boys are okay. He acts like security to.

Idia dosen't really come most of the time but when he needs extra money he goes. He wins since he throws off most of the customers since they never see him. Ortho is by his side as bodyguard.

There is a special VIP room that most of the dormheads go to gamble against eachother. You can get in there too if you win 1,000 games. Some got there but were thrown out when losing so much money. The one winning is Malleus since everyone is scared to gamble against him.

Yuu out of everyone is the most powerful person in NRC now. The extras beg for a second chance even some get a gambling addiction. Yuu funded a rehab for them since it'll look bad on business. Yuu has a bug office where they can meet people. There was this one guy who pushed his luck WAY too far and passed them off. They broke one of his legs and made him beg for mercy. You could say it changed them but really it made them more tough. This is a villian school you need to be tough around here.

Yuu is respected and most people don't dare touch them. Grim and Yuu swore they would never be broke again. There have been too many dark times when they didn't have protection they made a Empire out of this their not gonna lose it.

And I'm also thinking when their older Yuu makes a chain of Casinos everywhere. In all the lands, and even in the ocean that older Azul can control but has to give Yuu 60% of the money. There isn't one in Thorn Valley since they don't really know how to work them but Yuu dosen't care.

YIPPEE!!!! YOURE SO REAL AND SO VALID I LOVE TALKING HCS WITH PEOPLE AND HEARING THEIR PERSPECTIVES!!

Bring it back to Floyd because I love yo project on him SO MUCH, I like to think that even though he likes clothes and fashion now way more than he did when he first got on land (sensory overload anyone?), he still has certain fabrics/materials he avoids like the plague. Jade and Azul avoid said fabrics as well so he can run up and tackle them at any time without worry of touching the Gross Fabric. Tablecloths and cushions in the lounge were made with this in mind as well.

So sorry Scarabia lovers but I haven't studied Kalim or Jamil under a microscope long enough yet to come to any detailed conclusions, but neither of them are neurotypical that's for sure!!

Also skipping Pomefiore bc they scare me (/j I just don't pay much attention to them personally sjheiddjbdjffb)

I mean Idia is the obvious one, right? He's the most universally agreed on, he literally goes nonverbal regularly and has aids he made with his engineering/programming special interest to accommodate that, like it's just. It's RIGHT THERE ya know? He almost leaves nothing to discuss XDD Him and Riddle are clashing autistics and it's a shame, you hate to see 2 pretty people fight but especially when they're on the same team 😔

And then there's Diasomnia. HOOO BOY is there Diasomnia. Lilia and his gaggle of autistic kids. Starting with Malleus, he also almost leaves nothing to the imagination when it comes to how he is, like?? Idk it's so Right There!!! His special interest is gargoyles obviously, he also has heavy preference/safe foods, he never seems to be on the same page as his peers, leaving Jim to feel isolated and Different, not only does he not fluctuate his tone so people can't tell when he's joking, he can't hear tone to tell when other people are joking so it's just miscommunication after miscommunication. He enjoys learning now things but prefers the company of his most trusted people, that or either quite isolation in a dim/dark area to decompress!! He's the type of guy who doesn't realize he's been overstimulated for like 6 hours until he gets to his room and lays down and it hits him all at once and he's like OH! Oh THAT'S why I felt like shit and wanted to smite everything and everyone. Okay, cool.

Idk if this will make sense to anyone else but like, Silver is Disney princess coded, right? And Disney princesses are autistic coded in small ways, right? Yeah. Yeah that's really the only way I can explain it SKSBAIKSDHHD but like!! I know I'm right okay!!!! As a very very sleepy autistic person I just KNOW, I see him and I know. Also animals love him which like, understanding animals better than you understand if someone is trying to deceive/take advantage of you? Idk dude, that's pretty autistic /silly

Sebek is tough because I havent fixated on him at ALL and have like none of his cards, but the BIG STRONG INTENSE EMOTIONS and lack of volume control and how he's apparently actually very emotional/sensitive, and how he likes to stick to his routine and his people and anything that interferes will be YELLED AT ACCORDINGLY!!!! Idk, I don't really know this man (yet) so I also can't fully explain my vision here XD

Let's Believe (Twisted Wonderland SongFic)

A door was slammed throughout the house as Sebek huffed to himself, now pouting on his bed.

"Stupid humans," he muttered to himself, "who cares if I don't have all fae powers! I'm going to be more powerful than them anyways!"

Being young as he is, Sebek had some setbacks as a future knight of Malleus Draconia, one being only a half fae, which many has teased or belittled him for.

Some normally calls them out for their bullying, which spooks them away but they always come back and drag Sebek to a lower area of self esteem.

Today was no different, but Sebek had completely snapped and beat the bullies to running away. Lilia had to stop them and lectured Sebek on solving with fighting ("Don't fight with fists, fight with words," he would say), and told him to leave early to calm down and told his parents beforehand.

Now he's on his room, sulking, trying not to cry.

*Knock Knock*

"Go away," he screamed, "I don't wanna talk right now!"

".. it's me," mumbled Silver, carefully opening the door, "Father wanted me to check on you..."

Sebek huffs and turns away from Silver, "Tell Master Lilia I'm fine! I don't want to talk to anyone, especially you."

Silver frowns and walks in, holding something hidden in his hands.

"You probably believe that I was some half breed too! Someone who can't believe Lord Malleus!"

"Sebek, you have an advantage than I do being a half fae," Silver mumbled, "I don't have one. I'm just Father's son, and it's not much of a advantage," he looks down a little.

Sebek stayed silent and took a breathe. "You're right...I'm sorry. What did you actually come here for."

"I also wanted to give you something," he said in a meek tone, "if that's ok?'

Sebek looks over,"....I don't need a pity gifts!!" He wipes his face and tried to put a brave face.

"It's not a pity gift.." Silver sighed.

Sebek looks back, "Well, I guess I can accept this one..I suppose."

Silver sits down in his bed and smiles, "Close your eyes,ok? Can you trust me?"

Sebek frowns but begrudgingly closes his eyes. "I...can trust you..."

Silver smiles and holds his hand carefully.

Sebek jolted when he felt a necklace on his neck and tried to say anything about it.

Silver held Sebek's hand and opens a nearby window and helps Sebek back.

"W-what are you doing?" Sebek gulped and gripped Silver's hand tightly.

"Ready to fly?"

Silver smiles and ran quick, dragging Sebek and jumped.

Sebek held on to Silver's arm tightly before opening his eyes and seeing that his necklace was glowing and wings are on his back.

Silver was the same and laughs when Sebek gripped his arm.

Higher and higher until the rainbow's end

Silver helped Sebek as they flew high, feeling the air.

"How...," Sebek questioned, looking around from a high height, "where did you get these?"

"Father found them and said we can wear them because they were matching!"

Sebek smiles happily and looks down, "Coming down!!"

"Wha- Woah!!!!"

With Sebek's guidance, they zoomed throughout the forest, flying with birds and butterflies as Sebek's day has brightened more.

Silver smiles and that's when he knew Sebek's darkest moment became his brightest day.

Silver leads Sebek to his room and lands his on his room, back to normality and hands still interlocked.

Sebek laughed and looks over to Silver, "thank you, Silver," he whispered, "that was very fun."

"I knew you would like it," Silver giggles, "It's a friendship charm, meaning today and onwards we'll be friends for life."

"For life? Really?" Sebek gasped, "but everyone thinks I'm an annoying kid.."

"Don't let them decide that," Silver huffs, "I don't see you like that, and you're trying your best to be a great knight one day."

Sebek smiles and hugs Silver. "Thank you, Silver.."

"You're welcome, Sebek."

Happy Birthday Riddle Rosehearts 🌹🌹🌹

No, I'm not late. I didn’t get caught up in Enstars. I didn’t forget to write this. I am also ignoring the characters I missed until their birthdays roll around again. also am not upset that i don't have his first bday outfit. Got his union thoooo ayyyy~

So I already knew I would love Riddle when I started playing. I'm not even a Wonderland fan (Neverland all the way babeyyy) but that lil tomato makes me tingly inside. What can I say? He's small in size but big in taste!

And have yall seen prototype!Riddle??? Uhm?!?!? Hello?!?!?!?! Can I have both?!?!?!?

Let's get to it.

So what has changed about the tiny tyrant? He was the first chapter and he ushered in the series with his Mommy issues. He's the best foot forward. I'm serious. Chapter 1 is solid compared to the others. It's my favorite chapter (1,6,3,4,5,2) and everyone sets the setting well.

I think he's also up there on the most substantial change in characterization. While he's still got a stick in his ass, it's not as deep. He's showing more of his empathetic side and putting forth patience that the QOH isn't known for. A good queen must be fierce, but she also is fair in her deliverance of justice. She tends to her subjects and holds them to reasonable standards. Well, I at least think so. He's a palatable leader.

Something I've started to notice about Riddle is that he's naive. But his naivety also gives him courage? While he has been sheltered most of his life, Riddle is sure of his skills. He's willing to fight Malleus if the fairy ever tries to come for his spot. Now, if he would win is not the point. The fact that this little boy is willing to say it to Mal on his birthday speaks volumes. He would probably lose if he challenged him as is. That's his naivety/confidence. Now, if it was like, after a year or something, he would go down swinging for sure. That's his talent and skill. He's also interested in the duel being a learning experience which is a mature way of viewing a dorm leader battle. I would say every battle is an exp but the stakes are meaningful in a leader duel.

Speaking of which, it's cute that he would go there. Sure, it's to balance out the other picks, but Riddle would flourish in Diasomnia. He's packing a lot of power despite his size and if he learned how to keep his temper on lock, god. He'd be a big deal. Also he's good at fire magic for some reason like, is he an arsonist in training? Also the rose thorn motif on him sounds kinda hot. His OB uses thorns soooo.

Uhm, let's talk about his pick for a brother.

You know…he's probably hiding the real reason why he wants Jade. Think about it. Riddle is the one who told Trey how Jade controls everything. Riddle shares a homeroom with Jade. He experiences him as much as he sees Silver and Sebek (maybe more depending on when they meet for clubs). He's right that Jade is seemingly polite and seemingly compliant with rules and shit. He's surreptitious with his power. That's what makes him efficient and dangerous. Riddle wants someone like that on his side. That's what he's not telling Azul. Hell, Riddle even admits that he's not fond of Jade's other traits.

As his younger brother amuses me too. His naivety is at work. I'm an only child but younger siblings won't always listen to you. Jade's too independent for any of that. He could probably be a better big brother since he steps back when he knows someone's gotta learn a lesson. Jade gently tried to offer to nip the Leona issue in the bud in chap 3. Azul foolishly barreled forward with his plans regardless. Azul fucked up and Jade knew it. So he let his bestie learn. So in Riddle's case, Jade would be a better older brother than little (bc Jade will deprogram his naivety). But I think he's got a better option for a little brother: Epel.

I was torn between him or Jack but I think Epel could benefit from Riddle's brand of micromanagement. Vil is strict, but Epel doesn't listen to Vil bc as we saw in chap 5, he was out to fix Epel. Vil does care and wants Epel to grow but the ulterior motives muddied their relationship. With Riddle, they both get to have a brother. Plus, size matters. A lot. Riddle, as I said before, is small but a powerhouse. From their interactions and voice lines, they seem fond of each other. Riddle is firm and he will get Epel to show more formality and respect but since he's the same height as him, Epel will be more receptive to what he has to say. And notice how Riddle always tells people to speak loudly and be 💯 instead of mumbling? That trait needs to be preserved in Epel.

Riddle wants to do good and be a good mentor to his peers (imma talk about his career goals in a sec) so if Epel were to be taken under his wing, they would be fond of each other while also seeing Epel reach new heights that wouldn't be impeded by negative relationships. Plus Riddle is a little feminine (bc he emulates a queen too) so Epel will still unlearn toxic masculinity.

Okay, so Riddle wants to be a doctor. A doctor. That's…unexpected. Well, not entirely. He has a classic doctor tiger mom (more on that later I promise) so I can see this being a "carry the legacy" type of thing. But as we can see, Riddle is clearly great with students.

In his element, Riddle can educate upperclassmen as well as underclassmen. He's extremely smart and I think helping people in an educational setting is significantly more beneficial to his potential. Professor Rosehearts sounds super hot. He's firm yet gentle, and when he asks you to see him after class, you've got butterflies. He's handsome and when he talks, you're hooked on every word. You know he's scolding you for being so scatterbrained and distracted, but you can't help it. You're in love with him even though you know he wouldn't regret it if he would just take you and pin you to his desk-

So Riddle's mom is pretty…rough. I see people making jokes about her, usually projecting their own mama onto her. I personally think Riddle's mom wanted him, as in, he was a planned pregnancy. It only makes sense that they would only want one and then go to painstaking lengths to raise him "right". But unfortunately parenting is trial and error. I'm curious about how their family life has changed since he’s around other kids. I'm assuming he was homeschooled? Do we have any information on that? Anyway, school is usually when kids start finding their own identity and I wish we could get updates on how the OB gang is doing in specific areas where they were struggling. Since Twst is overloaded with characters, you gotta do your research on them rather than get main story satisfaction.

So what do I want for Riddle going forward? I unno, he's perfect. And I stand behind that. He's working on himself and that's all I can ask for any of these characters. Each of them are sentimental to somebody in the fandom and as long as they continue to mature and develop through the series, I'm content. So to round out the last of the birthdays with the one who started it all,

A/N: Sorry I took so long. I went on vacation for nine days. I also want to try my luck on making original stories again, so I'll be taking a hiatus so I can plan everything out. All I will say is that it features a foggy gothic town, a vampire in love, and a girl who eventually has to escape the bloodsucker.

Idia wakes Yuu up and brings her to the cafeteria for breakfast. Idia and Yuu sit with Ace and Deuce while eating their food.

"Have you noticed the Diasomnia members have been showing up less and less?" Ace asks, looking at the lack of green in the cafeteria.

"We're not thinking about that right now. I'm not putting Yuu under any more stress," Idia says, trying to redirect the conversation.

"I know, but Malleus has been borrowing and buying a lot of stuff lately. Plus, I'm disgusted to say this, but he's starting to smell," Deuce states, shivering at the memory of PE class with Malleus. "Not only that but Sebek has bug bites all over him. We should investigate."

"No-Yuu? Yuu, where are you?!" Idia exclaims, not noticing that Yuu has run off with Ace, Deuce, and Grim to Diasomnia. "Why won't that girl listen to me?!"

When Ace and the gang get to Diasomnia, they pound on the doors begging for someone to open them.

"Hey! Open up!" Ace yells, banging on Diasomnia's doors. "You know what, fuck it. We'll enter through a window. Deuce, give me a boost."

Deuce puts Ace on his shoulders while Yuu watches from behind. Ace crawls into an open window and pulls Deuce, Yuu, and Grim inside.

"Holy Crap! There's nothing but junk!" Yuu exclaims in shock, looking at all the clothes, trinkets, and jewels stacked upon each other in the hallways. "You don't think there's something in the trash, do you?!"

A rotten soup can falls onto Yuu's head, and its contents drip onto her. Yuu dreadfully looks above her and sees a pale white hand in the mountains of trash.

"AAAAHHHH! OHMYGOD! A DEAD BODY!" Yuu shrieks, hugging Grim and backing away.

The body moves, and trash starts to fall from the mountain of junk.

"AAAAAHHH! ANOTHER ZOMBIE!" Yuu screams, running away with Deuce and Ace. "Oh no! It's got me!"

"Quiet down, would you? It's early in the morning," Silver says, releasing Yuu's hand. "What are you guys doing here?"

"We decided to investigate when the Diasmonia members stopped coming to school. Though it's clear, there are more pressing issues," Yuu answers, looking at her surroundings. "Why is there trash everywhere?"

"Shh-shh! Don't let Malleus or Sebek hear you! Malleus started going through the possessive part of dragon puberty. We thought he would get possessive over you, to be honest, but instead, he started a hoard of treasure that has now spread," Silver explains, "Don't even try talking sense into him. He gets upset."

"Where's everyone else?" Ace asks, getting frustrated.

"Either stuck in the trash or locked in their rooms," Silver responds.

"I got it! Silver, you wake Malleus up. Deuce, Ace, and Grim, you guys stay here," Yuu exclaims, the lightbulb in her head going off.

"So, the princes at RSA want to meet me?" Malleus asks, walking down to Royal Sword Academy.

"Yes, they want to meet the famous future ruler of Briar Valley," Yuu lies, hoping the princes follow her plan.

I hope Malleus is distracted long enough for Ace and Deuce to help clean out Diasomnia.

"I highly doubt that, but I'll take your word for it," Malleus responds, making Yuu nervous.

"We're here! You wait outside while I tell them you've arrived," Yuu says, rushing inside to tell everyone her plan. "Everyone, I'm ba- what happened?!"

"Your bodyguard happened. He tore up the school looking for you," Ambrose explains, fixing Chris's damage. " Anyway, Neige has all your school work in your room."

"Listen, I know you guys are the help the desperate and poor type, so I need you to help me help this desperate person. Please, help me distract Malleus so my friends can clean out his hoard?" Yuu pleads, getting on her knees. "I swear it'll probably count as community service."

"Sure, you can never help too many people!" Neige exclaims, doing his signature smile.

"I don't think that's true, but I'll take it. Malleus is outside. Are there any gargoyle structures on campus?"

"We have humanoid gargoyles."

"That's even better. Everyone, go, go, go!"

Yuu opens the doors, and Malleus walks in, squinting his eyes from the bright decor.

"So this is what Royal Sword Academy looks like, it's so bright," Malleus says, blocking the gleam with his hands. "Well, what activities do you have planned?"

"We're seeing the humanoid gargoyles. Neige, lead the way, please," Yuu answers, holding onto Malleus's arm.

"Please don't take all day!" Yuu mentally yells.

"AAH! Lilia's possessed by one of the spirits in the amulets!" Silver screams, terrified at his father hitting on Epel.

"Why is your father hitting on me?" Epel whimpers, trying to pick up trash while running away from Lilia. "Help! He's got an unhealthy obsession with me!"

"Speak for yourself! I accidentally cracked some cat necklace and Rook won't leave me alone. Not like he did before he was here helping Diasomnia, but this takes it to a new low. What the-that bastard cut my hair!" Leona shrieks, whipping his back and forth to find Rook.

"This is a disaster, and it's only been 5 minutes. I should've known this wouldn't go well," Vil gripes, rubbing his forehead. "I hope Yuu is having better luck than us."

"Vil! Help me! Make Lilia go away!" Epel screams, hiding behind Vil.

"I didn't know your school had so many gargoyles! Never have I been so delighted!" Malleus squeals, looking at the garden of gargoyles.

"There's my baby!" Chris yells, running out of the pushes and hugging Yuu. "I'm glad to see you back at school!"

"Oh, it's you. I thought you and your partner left..." Malleus scowls, looking at Chris.

Livia stared at Grim, her eyes wide in shock at the sight of him starting to overblot. "LIVIA! COME ON! WE GOTTA GO NOW!!"Epel yelled running towards the door, Kalim and Azul following, students starting to evacuate. "You guys go...I can stop him"Livia says. "WHAT?! YOU CAN'T STOP HIM ON YOUR OWN!"Azul retorted looking disbelieving. "Livia....how are you gonna stop him"Jamil demanded. Silvers eyes widened in shock, Lilia staring from beside the door. "DON'T YOU DARE!"Kalim gasped running towards her. "Sorry guys, but I'm done hiding it..."Livia sighed. "I say I hate Grim a lot and that I want him nowhere near me, at the same time I do care for the little weasel"Livia sighed shaking her head. "Liv...don't tell me you're actually gonna..."Trey says stunned.

"STOP HER!"Epel yelled. "Sorry again guys...but I refuse to let my friend Overblot"Livia says. She opened her right eye, ink spilling out, going over to Grim. The ink wrapped around him, stealing the blot from the fiery beast, bringing it back to Livia. She fell over and shrieked, gripping her head, struggling to get back up. "WHAT WAS THAT?!"Ace demanded. "Livia has been sucking the blot out of the crystals Grim ate, which is why she started going wild instead of him!"Aura says backing away. "What do we do now?!"Deuce yelled. "Help her!"Riddle retorted. Livia sunk her nails into the ground, letting out raspy growls. She stood up, the ink surrounding her. "Dorm Leaders and Vice leaders we'll keep her at bay, try to snap her back into reality! First years, go help people evacuate!"Riddle called.

Giggling came from behind Riddle, Livia smiling at them, her arms crossed over her chest, all seven of the overblotted beasts that Aura and Ollie encountered before loomed out from behind Livia. "Oh no!"Cater says startled. "She has Riddles, Leonas, Azuls, Jamils, Goldens, Idias and Malleus's..."Jade mumbled shocked. "Run, run, run, everyone~~"Livia giggled thorns rising from the ground. "RIDDLE!" "LEONA!?" "AZUL?!" "JAMIL!!" "GOLDY!" "IDIA!" "MALLEUS!" The vines gripped the Overblot boys, pricking their skin. Leona fell asleep first, followed by the others, Golden struggling to stay awake but succumbed when another thorn pricked him. "Livia..."Vil says shocked. Livia giggled and blasted the ceiling off, sending rubble flying everywhere. She laughed, looking at the scared students.

"FINALLY! I FINALLY FEEL FREE FROM EVERYTHING HOLDING ME BACK!"Livia laughed. She snapped her fingers together, vines spreading across the school ripping it apart from top to bottom. "Liv! Fight it! You're stronger than this! Fight the blot!"Silver yelled running after her, Epel behind him. Livia turned, two thorn whips appearing in her grip. "Who are you ordering around! I'M FREE!"Livia yelled. Sebek tackled Epel out of the way, Trey tackling Silver down, dodging the whips just barely. "What does she mean she's free?"Briar asked looking back at the destruction. A scream erupted from behind them, Ollie trying to push a rock off of her foot, her eyes wide as she looked up towards debris falling towards her. "OLLIE!"Guil yelled. "Guil!"Shadow snarled grabbing his apprentice.

The debris fell, Ollie covering her head. She looked up, finding Riddles Blot Beast blocking it. "MOVE!"Livias voice commanded through the beast. Ollie looked down, finding the Boulder had been moved, Leonas Blot Beast kicking it far away. She scrambled up and ran away, her eyes wide. Something wet hit Livia outside her head, making her snarl as she turned, finding Floyd and Kalim there. "MADEMOISELLE FLOWER HUNTRESS, PLEASE COME BACK TO US!"Rook pleaded his eyes wide. Jade threw himself in front of Floyd, getting tossed into a wall by a thorn vines, then slammed into the ground. "JADE!!" Floyd blasted Livia with ice magic, Trey hitting her with a few vines when she turned to the Leech twin. "What do we do?!"Crewel demanded looking horrified.

"I think we might have to take her out..."Headmaster Crowley mumbled looking regretful. "She cannot be allowed to roam free like this, and she won't listen to reason, she's also stronger than us, including Mr Draconia, who she managed to put to sleep in seconds!"Headmaster Crowley sighed. "If that's what we must too, lets make it as painless as we can..."Crewel says looking down. "LIV!" Livia turned around, her eyes wide finding Jingles staring at her. "Please stop...you're hurting everyone..."Jingles pleaded. "Jingles..."Livia says starting to come to her senses. Jingles floated closer, Livia holding her hands out to her. "What...have I done.."Livia mumbled. Something hit her outside the head, making her shriek angrily, slapping Jingles away.

Silver caught the little fairy, his eyes wide. Livia snarled at the Headmaster, poisonous plants rising from the ground. Livia snarled, whirling around, taking in the faces of everyone surrounding her. She raised her hands, light magic surrounding them and released it at the ground, Trey, Sebek, Rook and Vil leaping out of the way startled. "Livia." She froze, and looked down, Grim staring at her. "I heard what you said! I'm sorry I put you through this! I didn't mean for this to happen, I shouldn't have ate those rocks, you shouldn't have to risk your life to..save...me.."Grim cried tears falling from his eyes to the grass covered ground. Livia fell to her knees, staring silently at the ground as she put a barrier of thorn vines up. She laid down, resting her head on her wrists, waiting for the blot to take her.

"LIV! LOWER THE BARRIER!"Kalim begged tears falling down his cheeks. "LIVIA!"Epel cried punching the Thorn barrier. Kalim moved back and released a fireball, burning the Thorn vines only to have more grow back. "I'm dangerous." Everyone froze, staring at the barrier. "I...just wanted to protect everyone's smiles, their dreams, help them make achievements they can be proud of...but I broke all that didn't I..instead of helping, I-I tore it all down, just let the Blot take me.."Livia mumbled. "Yes Livia you did 'tore it down' as you say...you tore it down the moment we saw our sweet girl Overblot"Trey says stepping closer to the Thorn barrier. "If I'm being honest, you helped all of us, just by being in our lives, bringing smiles to our faces, just being the sweet girl we all know you are"Vil nodded.

"You're our friend Livia"Epel smiled. "You're our family..."Kalim nodded. "Someone who'll allow us to turn to them"Ace says. "Someone who'll let us cry on their shoulder"Deuce smiled. "Someone who broke free to protect a friend, even though you overblotted"Aura smiled. "You're our light"Sebek nodded. "Our sun"Rook smiled. "The Pride of Night Raven Collage." The Thorn barrier lowered, Livia staring at them all. "Come on...lets get you all cleaned up alright"Trey smiled holding his hand out. She grabbed his hand, falling forward as the ink started to vanish. Trey caught her, a small smile on his face. "There's our little one"Trey smiled. Ollie grabbed the ghost camera, aiming it at Livia, something still eating away at her from earlier.

"Mama, I found sunflowers, your favorite"A younger Livia beamed. "Thank you Sweetheart! You know just what to do to make my day better!"Thea smiled placing the sunflowers somewhere special. "I love you Mama!"Livia beamed. "I love you too sweetheart!"Thea smiled. The current Livia appeared, tears falling down her cheeks. "Ever since I was young, I knew what I wanted, I wanted my family to smile, to be safe...to be free from hardship and from danger..."Livia says. A now seven year old Livia appeared, laughing as she followed Silver. "Big brother watch out!"Livia gasped grabbing Silvers hand, pulling him out of the way. "Found you brats! I found you!"Ambert laughed looking at Livia. He leaped forward going for Silver, a scream echoing through the air as Livias right hand fell to the ground.

Ollie covered her mouth, her eyes wide in shock. "That day changed everything for me...I wanted to protect my family even more seeing that this maniac was out and about trying to get revenge on them all.."Livia says. A now thirteen year old Livia stood before them, standing in the shadows of her elder siblings. "Good job kids! I'm so proud of you all!"Lilia smiled hugging Livias elder siblings. Livia forced a smile, Golden giving her a small grin. "Livia may not have made it too the top but she did her best!"Maria smiled. "Of course, doing your best is great as well!"Thea smiled pressing a kiss to Livias cheek. "Why don't we celebrate the ones who made it to the top!"Livia says quickly, trying to keep the attention on her elder siblings, so they could bask proudly and happily in their accomplishment.

"That was a normal occurrence, I always did the minimum so my siblings could be happy with their accomplishments, I always encouraged them on their dreams...but deep down I wish I had freed myself from the shackles that held me back sooner..."Livia sobbed covering her face. "WHY DOES IT HURT SO MUCH?!" "WHY COULDN'T I JUST LET MYSELF BE ON PAR WITH MY SIBLINGS!" "WHY?! WHY WON'T SOMEONE TELL ME WHY!" Ollie stared at Livia, then perked up when she vanished a now four year old Livia standing not far from her, holding Po in her arms, tears falling down her cheeks. She walked closer and hugged the child, gently stroking her hair. "It's okay...it's all gonna be alright I promise..."Ollie muttered sitting on her knees, a small smile on her face.

Livia opened her eyes, finding herself on a stretcher, Epel, Ortho, Kalim, Azul, and Trey, all staring down at her. "Wh-What.."Livia stared feeling a weight on her chest. She looked, finding Grim laying there, his face tear streaked. She reached up, petting the fiery beast and sighed. "You okay?"Trey asked. "Why am I outside?"Livia asked. "Livia, you destroyed the school, I think some of your destruction made it to Royal Sword Academy, because they came here asking what happened and they looked pretty beat up"Epel says. Trey picked up Grim, allowing her to sit up. She looked, finding the two Headmasters talking with each other. She got up, Kalim looking worried as she did. She stepped forward and touched one of the broken walls.

Vines rose from the ground, Crowley's eyes widening. "Young Vanrouge!!"Headmaster Crowley gasped. The vines started moving Debris, startling the two Headmasters. Trey came over, helping her move one of the fallen broken walls. Leona came over, Jack and several Savannaclaw students lending her aid. "We gonna rebuild or what?! You see what she's trying to do!"Leona yelled looking at everyone. "If we work together we can rebuild the schools!"Leona growled. "One School, Leona..."Livia corrected. She looked at everyone, all eyes on her. "We're all split apart because of...the schools..the competitiveness, the hatred is how we end up like some of my friends did..."Livia says. "Why don't we unite the schools, a school where heros and villains can get along..."Livia suggests.

Students turned away, making her ears droop. She turned away, then heard footsteps. Royal Sword Academy and Night Raven Collage students stepped into the rubble, working together to build the school back up. Neige and Vil rolled a pillar away, Jaseem, Jamil and Kalim using magic to break the debris down into tiny bits and pieces, Che'Nya passing a bucket of the broken down debris to Riddle, who passed it to Ace, continuing on till it reached Ruggie who poured it into a pile and passed the bucket to Jack. Livia smiled, and bounded over, helping Azul move a pillar, Neige and Vil hurrying over, helping them push it to where the debris is to be destroyed. Malleus created another pillar, Leona and Jack putting it back in place. The mirror of darkness was retrieved, Epel carrying it over to Eric and Andy for them to fix.

The building went on for months, Livia instructing how the school is gonna look both inside and out so it fits the heros and villains tastes. "That goes there!"Livia called pointing the spot out to Cater and Lilia. "Got it!"Cater nodded. With helpful funding from nobles and Royal families the building took three months to finish, but everyone worked hard to make sure the school was perfect. "Anyone need juice! Sam brought some!"Livia called flying around the building. "Over here!" She tossed a juice box to Ruggie, flying past him, and tossed one to Riddle as she glided overhead. She landed, and grinned. Leona and Trey sat on brooms placing the final touch. A bell. "Now that's a school for unity!"Epel smiled impressed. "And we even have a new Dorm for the heros to stay in"Vil nodded.

"Here Livia, as the founder you should place this there"Epel smiled handing her the fixed Mirror of Darkness. She looked up and walked inside, heading to the Sorting Chamber. She looked at the spot and placed the mirror of darkness back, the face reappearing. "Hey old friend"Livia smiled. A hand grabbed hers, Trey pulling her after him. "We need a school name!"Azul smiled pointing to the gold template above the school entrance. Livia stared at it, then smiled. "Nightsword Academy"Livia smiled. "That has a nice ring to it!"Azul grinned. "Hey, lets get a school photo!"Kalim beamed. Cater set the camera up, Livia standing beside Epel her arm on his shoulder. "WELCOME TO NIGHTSWORD ACADEMY!" Livia clapped, vines pushing everyone together, laughter up in the air as the photo was taken.

"The World of Another Who Looks Like You"

Chapter 3: New Meetings and Old Friends

Oh yeah I forgot.

Possible spoilers for chapter 6 (and mabye chapter 5) "Not Sorry. Reese's"

Malleus alter actually slept well which was all well and good except...

"Why do I have to wear the uniform? I technically don't even go to this school!" The alternate world Malleus, nicknamed Malleus Alter argued.

"I'll keep my own clothes thank you," he commented to Lilia who was insisting he put on the NRC uniform. Lilia sighed "well there's only one thing left to do."

"What's that?" Malleus alter asked looking up from where he was sitting on the floor. Lilia grinned with a amused glint in his eye.

"Oh shit" Malleus yelped and made a beeline for the door only to be immediately tackled by Lilia.

Malleus was in the kitchen drinking coffee alongside Silver. "So what do you make of the alternate version of me?"

Silver put down his cup "he seems different from you even though he in a way is you and I'm not talking about physically although that is noticeable as well." He commented.

Malleus was about to reply but then Malleus alter practically ran into the room and nearly knocked over the table. "Are you ok?" Silver blinked at him clearly surprised that Malleus alter seemed out of breath for some reason.

Like fae Malleus, Malleus alter was wearing the NRC uniform. From the looks of it a older variant where the vest and armband was more of a forest green color, and the bow had a shiny black crown shaped pin. Or Lilia had colored it differently on purpose, to differentiate between the two easier.

Malleus alter mentally mourned the loss of his colorful attire particularly his red shirt and orange socks but at least Lilia let him keep his shoes. Lilia had tickled him till he surrendered and agreed to put on the NRC uniform.

"Sorry sorry just trying to run away from Lilia is all” he picked up a extra cup of coffee and stared at it curiously.

"It's coffee if that's what you're wondering" Malleus offered.

Malleus alter narrowed his eyes and put the cup down after a sip. "Too sweet" he mumbled with a slight grimace but drank a little more any way.

"MASTER MALLEUS!" a certain voice yelled the owner suddenly standing right next to Malleus alter causing him to spit out the coffee he just had.

“Sebek.." Malleus alter sat the coffee down and grabbed Sebek by the shoulders. "Please use your inside voice. Some of us would like to wait till we're actually 80 to require hearing aids" he said his voice dropping to a whisper to which Sebek scowled and muttered under his breath; something about a human having no right to tell him what to do regardless of whether they looked like Malleus or not.

"I’m going to ignore that" Malleus alter remarked coldly as he glanced at Sebek, making direct eye contact with him and took one of Malleus's omelets. Malleus shrugged indifferently and Sebek looked aghast.

"Say something. Say anything I dare you" Malleus Alter commented eating the egg of his fork.

"You're not laughing at Sebek's hair I see." Silver pointed out.

"Hm? Oh I already laughed enough for one day." Malleus alter reached over for another waffle. "Come now Malleus Alter" Lilia's voice called and Malleus alter stiffened. "Use a plate of your own! also there are waffles here" Malleus alter eyed Lilia as he set down a plate of black waffles to which everyone winced.

“Well we’re off to class—" Silver remarked as Malleus stood up. “Ah yes time to go” Lilia grinned clearing away some of the dishes. “….” Malleus alter hesitated. “What do I do?” he looked up.

“Oh I guess you’ll be either here all day or you could hang around the first years.” Malleus suggested.

"Why can't I just follow you?" He asked pushing the waffles around on his plate as they sat in a lake of syrup.

Malleus blinked at him. "Do-- do you really want to?"

Jamil sighed about to check and make sure Kalim was finally ready to go to class when his eye caught the sight of Malleus Draconia and a hornless body double walk right by each other.

Jamil nearly had a heart attack.

"Malleus!"

"Ok that's all kinds of weird. Well it's less odd compared to saying 'other me' face to face, I guess, what is it?" The other "Malleus", the one without horns replied.

"Come with me. I need to introduce you to the teachers so they can assist in returning you home. "What about the principal- I mean headmaster?" The other Malleus asked. They had walked too far away for Jamil to hear Malleus's response but from what he could tell the other Malleus said what sounded like "right fair. We won't..." in answer to whatever he said.

"Hi! Your physical stats say you're Malleus Draconia but that would mean there are two of you! Although my scans state that YOU are in fact human! How perplexing!" A small humanoid robot with blue flames for hair floated up to Malleus alter. The eager yet friendly voice surprised him a little.

"Hah? yes I'm Malleus Draconia from a alternate universe. How do you do? What's your name?" Malleus Alter smiled politely. Malleus just observed the interaction quietly and Lilia grinned in amusement. Silver studied Malleus alter to see how he'd react to seeing such advanced technology.

"My name is Ortho Shroud" the boy introduced happily not immediately noticing Malleus alter's mood switch.

"Shroud...? But I thought.. You were..." Malleus alter half whispered in disbelief the look evident on his face. 'Of course this is an alternate universe. I should have expected as such'

He shook Ortho's hand "it's nice to meet you. Ortho."

"Hey Malleus Draconia? Are you saddened about something?" Ortho asked curiously.

"Me? No not at all I'm quite happy even if it's not obvious" Malleus alter smiled warmly, waving away as Ortho returned back to the table with several other students, Malleus alter could recognize Ace, Deuce, Jack and Cater sitting together from that distance but he didn't know the person next to the grey cat thing with blue fire for ears and a pitchfork tail. Also did Jack have dog ears..? Oh it must be that beastman thing Lilia explained last night. But he fell asleep in the middle of his explanation so he's not sure how much useful information he got.

"Malleus alter?" Lilia asked "did seeing Ortho bother you? You seem a bit distraught"

"I..." Malleus alter's eyes widened and he moved his arm so it wasn't hiding his face anymore.

"It surprised me. Since the Ortho I know... Is a A.I. he's basically a really high tech computer program. His.... 'Brother' Idia built him. I think it was in memory of his real brother having died in a accident."

Lilia's smile wavered ever so slightly. "You and the Idia of your world must be good friends if you know that much about him" he said calmly. Malleus looked over at his alternate self almost feeling a tad bit jealous since he had friends. But sympathetic since it was obvious that he cared deeply for all his friends.

"I never met Ortho. He died a few months before I moved to town. But that is sort of how Idia and I became friends." He looked over at the table where Ortho had retreated to, noticing that Cater, Ace, and Deuce looked like they were leaving already.

"Hey who's that student? The one with the pet?" Malleus Alter asked curiously since he'd never seen him before, at least not around Ace, Deuce, Jack, and Cater.

"That's Yuuta Origami. they are completely ordinary in the sense that they don’t have any magic but... They stopped six overblots now" Silver supplied.

"Oh... Wait what's an overblot?" Malleus Alter blinked confused.

Lilia took up the mantle of explaining, like he usually did. “..An overblot occurs when a mage uses too much magic at once, unique circumstances must also be put in place such as a build up of negative emotions; anger, stress, frustration, all play a part in causing someone to overblot” Lilia then paused to see if Malleus alter had anything to say but he remained silent.

“Overuse of your magic is quiet a dangerous situation to be in, and for most who don’t have conservation skills mastered the accumulation of blot comes way too easily. At this school of which the entire goal is to learn magic, we students have pens embedded with magestone that will absorb the blot for you as a way of getting it out of your system. If you are not rendered unconscious or incapacitated, the monsters formed from the excessive blot will consume your magic and in turn your life force”

“and… you say six people have overblotted already?” Malleus Alter asked.

“Yes. In the past it was extremely rare though enough to be a warning. Now it’s happened six times. Almost back to back….”

“Who were the…. Who all overblotted exactly?” Malleus asked genuinely concerned which almost surprised Lilia. “Riddle Leona, Azul--” Malleus alter stiffened a little at Riddle's name and his nearly violent reaction at Azul’s name; knocking over his glass as he stood up. A unusual dark look on his face. “Jamil, Vil, and Idia, Ortho being a unique case and turning into a sort of monster himself from what I gather” Lilia finished.

“I need to make a phone call” he said walking away. Malleus stood up to go after his alternate self but Lilia grabbed his arm, holding him back, Malleus looked at his adoptive father who shook his head as if to say ‘let him go'.

Malleus alter didn’t stop running until he left the building. He didn’t want to breakdown in front of all those students and he grimaced at the thought of offending the Malleus of this world by reacting childishly.

But still.

All of his friends, really? Well Leona wasn't a friend more like a rival or frenemy whatever they call it. Vil wasn't on close terms with him but they did know each other well especially after working together to save Epel from a group of stalkers... And Jamil.....

"Who are you?” a calm voice asked belonging to the figure approaching him. Slightly wary Malleus alter replied by stating his name. “Malleus Draconia”

“ah but you’re not the Malleus Draconia this world knows, are you?” the man, no doubt a teacher at this school asked in a tone that implied he knew very well the answer to that. As he came closer Malleus could see him better. The first most notable thing was his latte brown skin, and thick blue hair arranged in a braid that was partly wrapped around his left arm.

Despite the suspicious question which put him on guard, he couldn’t help but think how painful it would be to get hit in the face with that braid. This mystery man was a few inches taller than Malleus and his glass spectacles gave off the impression of a great scholar of some sort. Looking at his clothing choice, he could see he preferred brightly colored clothes just like he did. Or it was a coincidence. His blazer and trousers were white while his vest was a blue color that matched his hair. The shirt was black. The thing that ruined it was the pin on his lilac colored tie: a red and white mushroom.

Malleus alter averted his eyes. “What’s the accuracy of my identity got to do with you?”

“what indeed. After all you’ve only been here a day and you’ve already discovered some of the horrors of this world”

“I wouldn’t say horrors….” But even as he said it the lie tasted bitter on his tongue… learning what had happened to his closest of friends… even if Leona wasn’t a friend and he only spoke to Jamil a few times.

To think they all came close to dying…

“How do you plan to move forward with this knowledge?” the man asked.

“Why are you talking to me like you know me?” Malleus Alter scowled at him. “Who are you to mock me about something that isn’t your concern?”

“who am I?” he asked seemingly surprised someone had asked him that. He placed a hand over his heart

I believe that’s YOUR shtick,” Malleus folded his arms. While the mysterious scholarly looking guy put a coy smile on his face.

“I am Professor Adelbert Pillarson, instructor of literary arts and psychology, and one of the few living human staff members you will ever see at this school. Who are you?”

“you already asked me that” Malleus alter deadpanned.

“It was a deliberate repeat” Pillarson replied calmly. Malleus furrowed his eyebrows. “Why don’t you tell me who you think I am and I’ll tell you who I really am” he said scoffing.

"Who do you think you are?" Adelbert asked

"I'm me."

Pillarson opened his mouth to reply but another student interrupted him.

"Ah may I bother you for a moment Professor Pillarson!" A voice called.. It sounded like Jade's.... "I'd like to discuss something private with you?"

"You'll need to understand who you really are before you leave this world Malleus." Adelbert warned as he walked away.

"That was a terrifying conversation” Malleus alter commented when he felt Adelbert was far enough away “I hope I never have to endure that again.”

Malleus was on his way to go find Malleus alter and ended up in the library, not really think about where to look for him. But immediately gripped bookshelf from a surprise headache but the Bain faded and Malleus could vaguely see a in a room that was obviously at night. From the looks of this it was someone else's memory.

Malleus (alter) sat up at the sound of voices in the house. Were Sebek and Silver greeting Lilia now that he'd come home?

His door burst open and saw silver and Sebek look at each other perplexed. Apparently they had thought the same but about him. So Lilia hadn’t announced he was home for the boys to come and greet him. That only meant one thing.

Sebek grabbed the metal baseball bat from the upstairs closet. Silver ran around with a umbrella turning on all the lights. Malleus was going to knock them out and call Lilia since he was the one most likely to win in hand to hand combat.

All they had to do was keep them there (and maybe call the police) and wait for Lilia.

There were only four guys. So Malleus had no problems engaging them in a fight. Silver and Sebek tied up the first two. And just as Malleus knocked the third one unconscious two more came in from the back door and hit Sebek presumably because he had the most useful weapon.... Which he dropped on impact of the shock of being hit. Silver threw his umbrella and wisely grabbed the baseball bat and used it to hit the intruders in the leg with. Ensuring that they limped whenever they walked.

Malleus went off to search for any more hiding in the house while Silver checked Sebek's injury. Malleus knew there was a phone in the kitchen and saw it as a opportune moment to place the call.

Apparently someone else saw it as another opportunity. The sound of the China bowls and plates clattering as they collided on each other caught his attention before the sense of danger that came from a heavy falling object did. Malleus stopped dialing dropping the phone and tried stupidly to catch the cabinet and support its weight. Any sensible person would have moved out the way.

The dishes weight broke so much of the glass and several flattered to the floor making it hard to maintain balance and not step on the broken parts. Malleus wished he put his shoes on. This was going to make walking in socks a pain.

"Please don't get wild and especially break the dishes in the china cabinet while I'm gone" were Lilia's exact words. He did really well at keeping Sebek and Silver from getting into a fight that involved the China cabinet in any way. Now this.

Malleus groaned a little staggering under the sheer weight. He was not.... In a good position to handle it. Knowing it was foolish he slipped his fingers into the already broken openings of the glass door around the frame of the cabinet itself. Using them to hold his grip better and cutting his fingers in the process. He was still unable to truly support the weight and was forced to his knees.

Silver ran in the room the look of concern on his face would have been a nice change from his poker face had he not been in that situation. Malleus cringed "that bad eh?" He grimaced as he heard the glass crack in several more places and what may have been two more dishes sliding out to the floor.

"Heh heh you're a pretty strong kid, but I'll be taking these" he remarked moving to picking up some of the boxes holding the nicer porcelain cups.

Very much enraged Silver picked up a piece of glass quickly as he tried to hold up a part of the cabinet's weight with one hand, and he stabbed the man in the foot with the other. As soon as the man stumbled out the room he heard a yelp followed by a thud. Sebek knocked him out surprising him with his silence, since he knew usually Sebek would have said something and ended up letting his guard down. But Malleus had nothing to say about letting his guard down since he had done the same.

"Malleus you're going to have to let go of the cabinet, surely you don't think you'll just hold it like this all night do you?" Silver grabbed his bloody left hand. Malleus flinched slightly at the touch and what Silver said. 'He's right'. But he loosened his hold on the weight with his right hand and slowly slid out from under it quickly he grabbed Silver's other hand and staggered to his feet. The crashing if the cabinet was ignored.

"I'll clean that up later" Malleus sighed thinking about all the blood on the floor he was pretty sure he was a bit fatigued from all the cuts but surely he hadn't lost that much blood.

"No I'll do it!" Sebek volunteered with a look of determination. Were those tears in his eyes? Was he crying because of how injured Malleus was?

"Hey relax Sebek this isn't that serious" he tried to laugh and wave it off but the fragments stuck in his arms regardless of how small they were made it painful to move.

He moved to walk up the stairs and promptly crashed into a wall.

"I'm not dizzy the wall just felt like catching me so I wouldn't go face first into the stairs" Malleus gripped the rag Silver gave him and used it to touch the rail so he wouldn't leave blood everywhere.

"Sebek call Lilia and the police" Silver ordered as he helped Malleus up the stairs. Sebek was clearly too distracted to argue and did exactly as he was told.

Ten minutes later the police knocked on the door and arrested the seven "unwelcome guests". Malleus had slowly taken of his pajamas and found the first aid kit to remove the glass shards. Silver had helped get the ones out of his back for him. Now he needed to do his arms and hands.

Lilia's nose twitched that scent... He knew all too well. It was not what it was that bothered him. No it was who it belonged to.

Lilia knew. He knew it was a dream a memory-- likely his other self's but he still couldn't help the violent rage threatening to spill out of the cauldron. Immediately he searched the house; the foyer had a clutter of umbrellas, knives and a baseball bat: a struggle.

Someone had been here. Multiple people had been here when they had no business being here. The faint distinction in scents said Silver and Sebek did their job and injured the intruders, likely not enough to do severe damage but they did well for their skill set. But the thick scent of Malleus's blood led him to the upstairs bathroom. Passing the kitchen he saw a large China cabinet completely knocked over and halted, noticing it was also stained with a few streaks of blood.

Did Malleus alter seriously try to pick up the heavy thing?

No. The way the droplets collected, the amount on the broken fragments of glass and ceramic, it told him instantly that Malleus alter had the unfortunate luck of standing in front of it when it fell, and he impulsively tried to catch it as it fell on him. At best he'd slowed its decent but he doubted 11 year old Malleus (alter) was capable of holding it for very long. Add to it the weight of the dishes as they slowly cracked the glass.... The boy was lucky if the cuts weren't too deep.

Trying not to panic and quickening his pace up the stairs he called out to the boys. Sebek had started crying at some point based on how puffy his eyelids were, probably from seeing Malleus's condition. He almost let a sinister glare take over his face before calming down and asking whether or not they were ok and where Malleus (alter) was. Sebek was fine but Silver had apparently gathered a few scratches helping Malleus (alter) up the stairs into the bathroom.

Going past the two he threw open the bathroom door. Lilia's heart nearly stopped at the sight of Malleus alter trying to carefully use a pair of tweezers to remove the shards of glass in his arms. Walking into the room had startled Malleus so he nearly fell of the bench next to the bathtub. "Hi Lilia" he said weakly. "You're back sooner than I thought I guess you really got Silver's phone call" his eyes closed like he was tired. And he probably was.

"Malleus" Lilia called to Malleus who groaned a little, "Malleus listen to me. You need to stay awake at least until I get you to the car" Malleus alter rested his head on Lilia's chest, and grabbed his shirt something his abdominal muscles noticed, he straightened to better support Malleus and to prevent the boy from adjusting himself and causing deeper cuts with the fragments still under his skin.

"Ha ha I was too careless. I should have just forgot the dishes and dodged." He laughed bitterly. "I can't do careless things like that. Especially when they could cost you your job" he remarked quietly.

Lilia flinched slightly as if that hadn't occurred to him.

Yes, Sir Malorie Draconia would be angry or perhaps would deal him some punishment for this incident -- presumably after he took care of the dumbasses responsible-- but it stung a little to see that Malleus (alter) only saw himself as a burden.

A job for Lilia to do.

That hurt more then he would like to admit.

Although if he had to be honest, saying that likely hurt Malleus more than him, since it was essentially saying that everything Lilia had done was simply him following orders.

His grandmother's orders.

It must be hard to think you can trust someone like that. They had removed all the glass shards but it would be best if Malleus got suitable medical attention. Given how lethargic he was already….. Lilia stood up and got some clothes for Malleus to put on.

The vision faded but Lilia got all he needed to know about that incident. "Did you have a vision?" He asked Silver and Malleus. They both nodded "looks like we're going to have to talk to Mallleus alter when he gets back" Silver remarked.

Azul was walking down the hallway and noticed Malleus alter standing in a empty classroom staring at his phone and.. smiling. He tilted his head, is it some game?

He seemed really happy with whatever it was surely it wouldn't do any harm to look for himself.

"Oh just photos of fa-family and friends... And my significant other" he said pocketing his phone.

"Oh?" Azul pushed up his glasses. "Do you miss them?" He asked glancing up a little a Malleus alter. But he wasnt looking at Azul, instead his gaze was directed to the window with a perfect view of the school courtyards.

"It must be hard being separated from them" Azul said calmly.

"My family? Oh I guess in ways it's like I never left. Sebek still overly enthusiastic about being around me though him calling me -Sama is somehow weirder than him saying -senpai. Silver's still his normal mature self," he smirked "and Lilia's still...well Lilia"

"And what about you?" Azul

"I'm..." Malleus's eyes shifted looking very distant and cold for a moment.

I'm still... I'm the me I was two years ago" he said quietly.

Azul fell quiet trying to picture this alternate version of Malleus as the one he already knew. It wasnt so hard to be truthful.

Although that would mean that something had to change him for him to act that way, was it his friends he mentioned or this mysterious person he had high affection for?

"So what's this precious lover of yours like?" Azul asked wondering if he was giing into dangerous territory.

"Interesting question..." Malleus pressed his hand against the glass almost relaxing.

Azul's mind wandered temporarily 'if he's got large hands... Then that would also mean....'

"-- In short they are someone I adore very much. A irreplaceable treasure" Malleus smiled. Azul mentally cursed himself for not listening. But it still presented a opportunity...

"If you care for them that much would you be willing to make a deal?" Azul offered.

Malleus's head spun to face Azul the expression on his face reminding him grimly of why this person was still dangerous. It didn't matter that this Malleus smiled more to give off the illusion he was 'kind' or that he was human or couldn't perform magic.

As Idia would say "his intimidation stats are off the charts" which near as Azul could figure translated to Malleus is fucking terrifying by just existing.

It didnt help that Malleus alter just proved it with a single glance.

"Did-- did I say something that irritated you??" Azul stuttered and took a step back.

Despite his eyes being a beautiful color; green at the bottom brown at the top, likely some abnormality of hazel, they looked void of the warmth that was in them a second ago.

Azul mentally shuddered. Briefly he wondered if his other self had gotten in Malleus alter's bad side. But that vision he had earlier.... They obviously had some close connections. He wouldn't sleep with Azul simply because he needed someone to keep quiet that he got drunk after going to a party. That kind of deciscion displayed trust.

"What the fuck are you doing here Ashengrotto?" The familiar scolding voice of Master Crewel came from the doorway.

Author note: This took way longer than I thought it would.. And I'm sorry for that. The good news is I can start on chapter four. The bad news is I'll be starting on chapter 4.

"Come play magical shift!"

[Exterior Hallway]

Ruggie: Hey, you guys, where're you looking to go?

Heartslabyul Student B: Eh, who are you? Do we know him?

Octavinelle Student A: No… I've never seen him before…

Ruggie: Aah, sorry, did I startle you guys? I'm a second year in Savanaclaw, Ruggie Bucchi.

Ruggie: Looked like you guys were in a bit of a jam, and I couldn't just leave you hanging!

Octavinelle Student A: Oh, so you're one of our upperclassmen.

Heartslabyul Student B: We're wanting to go check out the athletic clubs, but we don't know where to start…

Ruggie: I feel you! I had a hard time findin’ my way last year too～ Here, to get to the sports field, you wanna take the second right...

Ruggie: Oh, but me just giving you directions probably won't help, huh! If you want, I can show you around to all the sports clubs!

Heartslabyul Student B: Wow, how lucky are we to run into such a nice guy! Are you sure you're okay with us taking you up on your offer?

Savanaclaw Student C: Did you hear that just now? Sounds like he can show us around the sports clubs.

Diasomnia Student D: Let's take advantage of the opportunity too.

???: Apparently, he'll take us to check out the sports clubs, Jack-kun...

Epel: We don't really know where the clubs are, so… It might be good if he could show us around too, you think?

Jack: Don't really wanna be a part of a pack, but… I guess it might be a better choice than trying to find my way alone.

[rabble, rabble…]

Ruggie: If there's any other first years that're interested, feel free to join us! Let's all check out the clubs together.

Everyone: Thank you!

Ruggie: Wow, they all took the bait. …More came than I expected.

Ruggie: Alright, let's begin the tour of the clubs! Please make sure you stick close to me!

[Sports Field]

Silver: Next, I'll jump over that obstacle over there. Hup!

Ruggie: Maaan… Silver's so dashin' the way he gallops on that horse. Now, that is art～!

Ruggie: It might look like all they're doin' is just sittin' on a horse with great posture, but it takes all your body's strength to ride a horse properly.

Ruggie: If you join the equestrian club, you'll be able to train your core and other muscles you don't normally use!

Sebek: Hey, you humans over there!

Sebek: You've been yapping noisily for a while now! You're making our horses lose concentration. Leave!

Savanaclaw Student C: Ahn? What's with that arrogant tone? You wanna go?

Sebek: Did you not hear me tell you to leave? If I have to, I'll use magic to make you leave…!

???: OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!!

Sebek: Wh-What is this collar! Urgh, I can't take it off!

Everyone: Eh, a collar!? What is that!?

[mutter, mutter]

Riddle: Even if you are a new member of the club, now that your application has been accepted, I will not tolerate any kind of behavior that will impugn the dignity of the equestrian club.

Riddle: What a good opportunity. Sebek, I shall teach you the proper way to behave yourself around non-Diasomnia students.

Ruggie: That one who just appeared is the second-year, Riddle-kun. He's the Dorm Leader of Heartslabyul, and the top student in his year.

Ruggie: If you join his club, he'll teach you riding skills and also drill a tonnn of etiquette into your skull.

Ruggie: …Well, if you break any rules, there might be a little bit of corrective and disciplinary action.

Octavinelle Student A: A-A little bit?! There's a limit to how strict someone can be!

Diasomnia Student D: Yeah, I don't wanna be collared if I disobey him!

Ruggie: Okaaay. Then, let's move on to the next one!

[Gymnasium]

Jamil: Your left side's completely open!

Diasomnia Student D: That guy just slipped through a three-man defense so easily. His crossover dribbling is insane!

Ruggie: [whistles!] Jamil-kun, you're so cool～～! If this was a real match, I bet there'd be a huge round of cheers about now.

Ruggie: Basketball is basically a sport where every player attacks and every player defends. The best part is that each position has its own important role to play.

Ruggie: However, our basketball team has…

???: Don't be unreasonable!

Ace: There's no way I can take a pass as fast as a bullet like that! I've only just recently joined the club, you know!?

Floyd: Hah? Who cares about that? Just build up your body and do somethin' about it.

Floyd: If you really want, I'll help you with your passes.

Ace: Urgh, he threw it again! Stop, I give up! I don't wanna be covered in bruises so soon after joining the team!

Ruggie: Our basketball team is based on the merit system. Even a first year can make the starting lineup if you're good enough!

Ruggie: …I mean, that's only if you can go up against those strong upperclassmen and win, that is.

Heartslabyul Student B: No way I'd be able to go up against an upperclassman with a scary glare like that!

Diasomnia Student D: I don't want to have a ball thrown at me at hyperspeed!

Ruggie: Oh～ I seeeee. Mkay, then let's move on to the next one!

[Sports Field]

Vargas: That's where you need to keep following through! Don't give up so quickly! Be hungrier for the win!

Epel: Wow…! I can't believe they're just practicing, with this level of intensity!

Jack: That's Night Raven College, for you, the top magical shift school…!

Ruggie: Oho, you guys interested in the magift club?

Jack: Yup. I once got to watch a stream of a magift tournament, and I thought it was incredible.

Epel: Me too! The magift club here is really amazing.

Ruggie: (This guy's a first-year in my dorm… I think his name was Jack? I'd been thinking that he's got a good physique, and…)

Ruggie: (When you look at him up close, you can really tell he's built differently. Without a doubt he'll be a promising prospect.)

Ruggie: (Putting aside the little Pomefiore kid, I bet if I can get this guy to join the team, I'll get a special reward from Leona-san!)

Ruggie: (I've already got a pretty good feeling about this, but… I'll give it one more push!)

Ruggie: Our school is well-known for our magical shift team. We have our own practice field, and on tournament days, the campus is bustling with spectators!

Ruggie: Just like you guys, there's a ton of kids on the team that used to watch our team's matches on TV and wanted to join the team because of that. We're a super popular club!

Ignihyde Student E: True, even the coach's really into it. …But, y'know…

Octavinelle Student A: I bet they'd make us do crazy hard practice every single day.

Diasomnia Student D: And it doesn't look like we be able to easily make the starting team.

Heartslabyul Student B: I mean, does it even seem like we'd be able to get a seat on the bench? Even if you train hard, it's meaningless if you don't get to participate in a match.

Ruggie: …

Ruggie: …Yeah, just like you guys're sayin', sometimes it's real hard work.
