Not in the way society tells us it must be but in the way we can show up for ourselves; taking deep big belly breaths & reminding ourselves that we are perfect, always as is in any given moment โœจ Everything lined up in this way for us to be who we are rn ๐Ÿชท April was #SexualAssaultAwareness & #ChildAbusePrevention month & I wanted to address how this is more common than we as society like to admit. Iโ€™m not here to place blame or to make anyone uncomfortable but this is a real life issue that is prevalent in most of our lives in one way or another โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน From child molestation, to rape, to unwanted advances, & the list can go on but we are familiar with it. I myself was abused as a very young girl for several years & I truly didnโ€™t realize until my 30s that Iโ€™ve nvr actually dealt with it. I finally told someone at 12 when I had a mental brkdown, & then again at 16 when a lot was changing in my life, did therapy, even family therapy & I thought hey thatโ€™s it, itโ€™s done. Iโ€™m okay. But am I? Was I? No I wasnโ€™t bc there was a plethora of feelings deep within that even I wasnโ€™t aware of at first. It took me until now to finally face that; to know that it was an experience that happened to me ๐Ÿ’” Sexual assault is nothing to be ashamed of , nothing to feel guilty over. It was something that was experienced. We didnโ€™t ask for this , or do anything to warrant it. Itโ€™s what happened & it is our responsibility to ourselves to heal from it ๐Ÿ’ž Whatever that means to you I truly hope you find it ๐Ÿ’• & it can be very different from one to the next. I was 7 yo, and I was sitting watching TV, she brought a bottle of lighter fluid and started squeezing the liquid. HOW ODD?! I didnโ€™t understand if it was a prank or I donโ€™t know, I never thought that she would try to set fire on me.
She dropped on the floor the bottle of lighter fluid, I was ready to be killed, I was wet enough with the fluid according to her. She started searching her pockets.
And then I realized, my mom was trying to kill me, I stood up and started screaming and running while she had the box of the match, and she was lighting up one by one and throwing on me, while I was trying to hide myself.
Did any of you, already play hide and seek with your mom? But it is your life that is in the game because if your mom finds you, she will kill you. Well, I did.
I hid in the bathroom, and I screamed so much and I begged so much to her to stop.
