I have two fics for this actually! I’ve been on a bit of a body horror kick recently too. It keeps sneaking into my writing.

a near defacement

“If this is about your armor, Barry’s gear is doing the same thing,” Clark says, frowning, “It doesn’t seem like he’s trying to move it. It just…wants to move toward him, I guess.”

Fascinating. Bruce takes a deep breath so he doesn’t scream. He can feel every single piece of shrapnel, bullet fragment, and medical implant in his body trying to move toward the man, inching one millimeter at a time through his flesh.

and there is a brief mention of Bruce’s fake face at the end of this fic:

“But you’re good at it,” Clark said, “And I know you won’t hurt me.”

The look returned.

Probably the fic I am most proud of for challenging myself to write something completely different in the sci-fi/horror genre. I also really enjoy how I wrote Ezra's dialogue in this one.

2. Five Days Series - Joel Miller

My first multi-chapter series with our handsome hero, Joel. I really enjoyed exploring Joel and Reader navigating their relationship in this story, and it gave me ample playing space with different emotions and putting them into words.

3. Dress Me Up & Call Me Pretty - Dieter Bravo

I really wanted to explore promoting positive sexuality in this story and getting under Dieter's skin. The feedback on this story from readers about exploring this type of sexuality has been overwhelmingly positive too, and I'm so happy that this story has been a comfort for some too.

4. Back Alley Bang - Dieter Bravo

Sleazy!Dieter - what more can I say?! This is a version of Dieter I recently wrote, and am writing more for, I just love him and there are more sleazy scenarios for him on the way.

5. Kiss Cam GIFLET - Frankie Morales

A fluffy meet cute for Frankie, which has also been my most popular GIFLET to date. Gotta love this gorgeous pilot.

I've written multiple Actor AU pieces (I love reimagining the AOT characters as actors, 10/10 would recommend as a way to cope with the pain of canon 😂😭), but this is in its own separate universe and I'm planning on writing a couple more fics set in this specific universe!

I had so much fun writing it (I hope it showed haha), and that's why it's on this list as one of my favourites!

All the fluff and softness you could ever want. Will never stop writing sweet and soft fics for Levi because he deserves it 😌😌

This was partially based on a dream I had, actually, which makes this more personal, and therefore, one of my favourites.

Me remembering what I dream about is a very very rare occurrence, and rarely do those dreams include fictional characters, funnily enough 😂 so it was an extra special occasion when I woke up and actually remembered the dream I had of walking on a beach with a blushy Levi whilst the sun was setting and it was all sickeningly cutesy and romantic. I wrote it down, fully intending on writing it, and never got around to it, until I saw the prompt for Levi Week Day 3, and was like... hang on, this could work 👀

Gentle Touches (Tumblr | AO3)

Levi experiencing affection for the first time is a trope I can't get enough of, and it seems the two anons who sent me the request are the same hehehe

Fluff and softness, emotional hurt/comfort towards the end! Also this was a fic that made me realise how touch starved I myself am 🥲 I've been told that this made people quite emotional too, which is reassuring, as I was aiming for that! So yeah I'm quite proud of this one ☺️

At Ease (Tumblr | AO3)

Definitely one of my more creative premises! I genuinely don't remember how I came up with this though, but yes this role-reversal AU was very fun to write and I'm so pleased with the outcome :3

My 2023 in fics

Thank you @lorifragolina for tagging me. I know you tagged my main account @jad3w1ngs but as all my fics were Stranger Things this year I'm going to do it here.

I'm going to only talk about fics that I either started or finished during the month as I've written an awful lot this year and it was very hard to pick faves.

January

I'm choosing my current ongoing Byergrove fic 'Take a picture, it'll last longer' that I started on New Year's day last year. I've loved writing such an angst heavy fic and exploring the trauma that might occur from what Billy went through at the beginning of this fic. Also Jon is the best boy in this and he's so soft (which is quite a departure to how I seem to normally write him).

February

For Feb I have possibly my favourite Mungrove one-shot that I've ever written. 'It means to lie beneath' was a Billy Hargrove Bingo fill and definitely something that is on my list to expand into a full fic (just as soon as I finish some of my other series). It was really fun writing a Succubus/Incubus fic and I can't wait to further explore the world I built.

March

Considering that this is my biggest fic and also the one that really got me into this fandom I have to shout out my Harringrove fic 'To submit is such sweet pleasure'. My first foray into A/B/O and I just love these boys together in this fic.

April

This is possibly my least read fic but one that definitely holds a special place in my heart. My first submission for Mungrove week, 'Ghost' was my chance to try a good old fashioned song fic and practice some more poetic writing.

May

'Swapping more than clothes' was the Stoner Polycule fic that I finished in May and was also a Billy Hargrove Bingo fill. Really enjoyed writing each of the boys dynamics in this and of course having some straight up smut where Billy gets railed by multiple partners is always good.

June

I can't believe I only started 'Forged' in June. I love, love, love this fic and can't wait to actually get to the point where I introduce Eddie (or Edeval as he is in this) as a character. For a Mungrove fic of mine it is quite funny that we're nearly on chapter 6 and he's still not appeared.

July

Another fic I'm obsessed with writing, 'Chokehold' is my darker Stoner Polycule fic. We're still early days with this one (considering it's chapter 5 on what is at least a 19 chapter fic) but I think about this fic almost daily.

August

Wow, I finished 'The Stolen Sapphire' all the way back in August? That feels so long ago. My pirate Harringroveson fic that was such a pleasure to write and so many people seemed to love, I can't not put it here.

September

I was struggling between 2 of the Mungrove fics I wrote in September but considering the sheer number of times I've re-read 'Knock Once' that's got to be the one I go for. Pure smut with my best two boys, and also the beginning of my realisation that this might just be my ride or die ship for ST.

October

I just have to include one of my Harringrove kinktober fics for this month so I'm going with 'Wanna see what's under that attitude' because it's chock full of all the kinks, and Billy in lingerie is always a pleasure.

November

Another fic that I personally feel went a little under the radar but one that I love nonetheless is 'little and broken, but still good'. My first attempt at writing one of the boys as a dad and I just adore Eddie's daughter Chrissy. Also kindergarten teacher Billy is something I need to write more of. Needless to say this is another Mungrove fic and was one of my last fills for the Billy Hargrove Bingo.

December

I've only just started this one, and I had planned on it being a short fic but I've gone a bit ham with the world building so we're in for a longer ride. Anyway, 'To keep good company' my historical A/B/O Harringrove fic is actually going to be my first attempt at some proper slow burn (although is it slow burn if they're already mated?)

This was a lot of fun, and very nice to look back at all that I've accomplished in 2023.

Val!! I'm finally here for this hehe thank you for sending it to me! Now, let's see...

I must include Santa Levi one of the holiday stories I wrote the first year I was on tumblr, about Levi stepping in as Santa for kids with the help of reader and the rest of the time who make sure the kids have a wonderful holiday. I got to feature Gabi and Falco!

PCOS is one dear to my heart that I tried to make NOT sound like a PSA while writing it for myself and others with this condition and how nice it would be to have such a sweet supportive partner.

Another holiday one! Kindness at Christmas told in a large flashback of reader and Levi's first year of marriage and how things might not always go right and be hard but it's okay to accept kindness from those close to you and others who may want to help.

I don't think it's cheating to include a fully fledged outline of a royalty AU I might never get around to writing. Arg! It's an idea I had and still have about nobleman Levi and amnestic reader who fall in love only to discover she 'belongs' to another kingdoms prince. Takes place over the course of about 20 years.

And for Jean fics it's Dancing on My Own what I wrote one evening when my wifi went down. It's very friends to lovers (my favorite trope with this guy) during what starts as a night out with heartbreak that turns into one of realization and having a sleepover with someone who will always take care of you.

That was hard and it could change at any moment haha but that looks about right :)

This fic took me six months to write, I had at least two mental breakdowns while writing it, and I dropped out of the big bang event I was supposed to be writing it for. But in the end, I was really pleased with where it ended up.

I had a lot of fun figuring out all the technicalities and finding a way for TK and Carlos to come back together organically when starting from scratch, not to mention the fun of working through all the emotions and grief of losing the person you love the most on all levels but the physical. I wrote a line about TK leaving because it felt wrong mourning for Carlos while he was in the same room, and I love that kind of angsty shit.

1. within me, an invincible summer

this is my baby. this fic has embedded itself into my own heart bc i’ve poured some of myself into it and it’s been very cathartic to write - it’s very emotional (like me) bc billy is very emotional, and i’ve always seen post-S3 fics but none of them really focused on his healing journey from Starcourt and how he could’ve grown into a healthier version of himself if he had the right support system. i also love writing about developing relationships bc it’s fun lol to write the development of his relationships with both steve and max have been so rewarding bc i firmly believe that they are the people in his life that could make the most impact. this fic is about billy waking up a few weeks after Starcourt with a new heart in his chest and he realizes that he has to continue on with this life he’s been given but doesn’t want.

this fic is a WIP and is currently sitting at 60k with no end in sight so….take that as you will jfbfkf

2. summer bummer

i wrote this back in 2020 and it was inspired by the summer heat i felt when tanning in my backyard during quarantine! it’s about Steve returning to Hawkins after a small vacation with his parents and his boyfriend Billy is the only thing on his mind 😌this ficlet screams ‘summer’ to me and it’s hot and cute and it’s just a nice little thing to read 🥹

3. Season Of the (Love) Witch

i kinda stepped out of my comfort zone with this one (and wrote it on my phone during vacation lol it was hell)! it’s about Steve, who is desperate for love, and is so desperate that he’s turned to magic to get a lover. he has continuous run-ins with Billy throughout the fic and that’s all i’m gonna say hehe this was heavily inspired by the movie The Love Witch (which is visually gorgeous omg) and i like to think that i did fairly well w this one!!

4. happy holidays

this is a ficlet i wrote here on tumblr during christmas last year. i honestly just wrote it without much thought lol i let the characters do what they wanted to do! it’s about billy going to visit steve on christmas day and they realize that they both kinda hate the way their families celebrate the holiday so they promise each other that their christmases will be better. it’s fluffy and sweet and i still love it!!

5. Bitter

this is a ficlet i wrote for tumblr then moved to AO3 - it’s sorta harringrove, as billy has complicated feelings about steve, but its main focus is billy and will! i don’t ever write anything that includes the kids so this was fun to write, and it came about after realizing just how similar these two are and i wanted to see how they would’ve reacted to each other, especially with their unrequited feelings for a boy they like (maybe even love). it’s bittersweet at its core but the sweetness of how billy treats little will makes up for it!!

Remus leaves Sirius in the lurch, going on an Order Mission with Marlene McKinnon and leaving nothing but a rushed letter containing no real detail. Sirius is left to grapple with his abandonment while Remus secludes himself in misery.

Ok ok ok I've posted about this a million times but this is one of the fics I'm proudest of. Took a while because I'm a perfectionist.

Lily Evans is flung into the vicious cesspit that is the Hogwarts Dating Scene. Filled with boys and Quidditch parties and Firewhisky and friendly inter-house relations and tears and mean girls and public displays of affection—gag.

Laugh my f*cking ass off writing this with Merlin. May or may not be loosely based on true events of I won't say who...

Miss Lillian Evans is entirely uninterested in marriage, thank you very much. James Potter, Viscount Godric, could not agree more. After an introduction from a mutual friend, one Mr Lupin, the pair form a friendship in which they laugh at the ridiculousness of their marriage-minded society together and pass away endless tiring fetes in each other's company.

I am living out my Jane Austen dream and nobody can stop me! I really love writing this though. More time honestly goes into researching than it does writing (at least at the moment) and That's The Way I Like It.

4 To Live Without A Heart | Words: ~600. Chapters: 1/?. Rating: T.

James wasn’t home that night. It was the one decent thing Peter did, and James hated him for it.

Everybody needs a bit of gut-wrenching sadness in their life and this is mine :) I don't have enormous plans for this plot-wise. I do, however, have a Pinterest board and what more does a fic-writer really need? Rest assured (eventual) future chapters will be filled with heartbroken Daddy James.

5 I Can't Love Him | Words: 31k. Chapters: 6/?. Rating: T.

James Potter was an intolerable prick. A dim-witted, egotistical toerag who wasn't worth Lily's time. Well, unless, in the case of a good telling-off, that was very much worth it. This was true right up until the last few weeks of fifth year when Lily's whole life was flipped on her head, and she was left to work out what in Merlin's name to do with it.

Now... hear me out. This isn't exactly my best fic but it is my first!

Despite being many years old, it has never been finished and the initial version was very bad. There are actually many more chapters published on Wattpad—oh my—that you can go find if you're interested in poorly-written long-winded Jily fanfiction with little to no plot.

It has been undergoing a very big rewrite for a year+ now, the finished chapters of which are on AO3.
