Just watched that DW episode with Nikola Tesla and honestly I wasn't disappointed. My mind is having so many thoughts right now and I'm not sure I can write them all down but I'll do my best

First of all: loved the story. The idea of aliens wanting to kidnap Tesla is so funny to me and I found it quite charming the way they depicted it. I'm no professional writer as of now so I won't go into that. I did, however, find it very sweet how the Doctor and Tesla had that short moment of bonding over being inventors/scientists... It was just sweet.

Second: performance. Absolutely loved the way Tesla was portrayed. There are some really small things in his speech that do nudge the idea he's not a native English speaker and I think it was shown amazingly. I'm a native Croatian speaker so I was able to catch a few extra things, but I do think they could've given him a bit more of an accent. Then again, that's just my personal preference. Plus, that beef with Edison seemed pretty realistic to me. Another thing I'd like to mention is someone's brief remark on the fact that Tesla loved opera! Fun fact: a worldwide famous opera diva Milka Trnina (who was also Croatian!) was said to be the only one to have access to Tesla's personal laboratory! There were also rumours of the two being something more than friends... Who knows. Also I could rant for hours about Milka and Tesla, but I'll leave that for another post.

Had high expectations for the episode, wasn't disappointed.

i'll forever wish that hsmtmts was one of those shows that got 22 episodes a season so every character and plotline could've been given the proper treatment they deserved. like yeah it's a lot for the premise it had, but more episodes would've meant delving more into their backgrounds or giving more development into friendships and relationships of the show. i'm also still kind of mad that the season that was arguably their weakest ended up with the most episodes, while their stronger seasons had a limited number of episodes.

#season 2 did not deserve that 12 i don't know what disney was thinking #like that season was not only affected by very questionable storytelling decisions #but it was obviously their season the most impacted by covid and the cut storylines and adjustments they had to make showed unfortunately #plus more episodes would've given us a chance to see more into the character's home lives earlier than we got to #things like carlos being rich were never really touched on again #it would've been nice to be introduced to kourtney's family earlier and she deserved more episodes centered on her #even ship wise i'm glad it took 31 episodes before rina got together but we could've had so much more time #this is nitpicky and i was just thinking about how disappointed i was with season 2 #and also people talking more about the characterization in season 4 from some of the ensemble so i just got ranty again lol #hsmtmts #high school musical the musical the series #gina porter #ricky bowen #ashlyn moon caswell #hsmtmts maddox #hsmtmts jet #nini salazar roberts #big red #carlos rodriguez #seb matthew smith #miss jenn #kourtney greene #useryay

the sasara kuukou drama track is top 3 best kuukou tracks and here’s why lol:

kuukou out-terrorises the local terrorising delinquents

who knows if this track was the first time sasara and kuukou had seen each other since the true hypnosis mic happened??? but if so, the first thing sasara did upon seeing kuukou was to teasingly praise him to point kuukou felt he should hit him to shut him up lol

kuukou says his equivalent of ‘that place is ass because the vibes are wack’

kuukou’s pleased and proud little giggle when sasara praises a joint he likes

#i had to take a solid month after watching spyfall to even feel like i wanted to look at more of chinballs run #and man #i probably shouldve jsut not #its sort of impressive how the worst episodes in this series are the oens specifically written by chinball too #like theres actually some decent episodes in 12 #but spyfall and the timeless child eps are just #so #so bad #its also just like really upsetting to go from the worse than 10 but still pretty solid series 11 #to a series with all of like 4 episodes I'd rank above like a 6 #like its such a palpable drop in the quality of writing that its actually sort of baffling #all the freshness of the very grounded s11 just gets lost for weird lore antics that also just arent very good #like did the bbc specifically request the absurd retcons or did chinball just decide to do that #and after finishing i kinda dont want to go on to s13 at all #cuz i know thats supposed to be one singular storyline #so i assume its also all written by chinball #and i just have no interest in that at all #and i think the worst part is that the eps that chinball didnt write actually have character work i really enjoyed #like the interactions between the characters in episode 3 are actually really fun #and even some of chinballs eps HAVE really interesting concepts #its just theyre never paired with character work that make it tolerable or even good #anyway #after learning to love doctor who i when i first watched it during the smith era then came to dislike it in the capaldi era #i then got to relearn to love it with the capaldi era #only to then come to hate it with chinballs era #time is a circle or something
