A little doodle of personal art/concepting for story ideas. One problem I have with getting a story going is many are long stories with multiple chapters...which means more work to write. SO going to cut my teeth on one chapter short stories c: Short stories focusing on three different “areas” first story area is “Shaza of the Fayrewood”, a story about a goblin lass that gets adopted by a Seelie prince and raised in the wild and her adventures, each one being a single short self contained thing c:  Jala is Shaza’s best friend. Prince Orangan is her adopted father. Few characters, short simple adventures, good practice to help me focus for tackling the large things c:   Also a lot of the Fayrewood species/creatures/ect have concept, so easier to focus on jumping to drawing the comics <3

some of my jason & damien hcs bc them both being league brothers and bat brothers is chefs kiss:

jason knows exactly how to handle damiens autism meltdowns. ra's refused to 'indulge in his tantrums' or let talia either. the batfam would try and calm damien down when hes overstimulated and nothing works but jason big brother mode activated and on autopilot hes shuttin off the lights, makin sure the rooms cold, speakin so calmly to him in arabic as he pulls out the weighted blanket

since jason build like a fucking tank he'll lift damien by the scruff like a wet cat when hes annoyed but also to keep damien from running off by himself

jason absolutely cannot handle when ppl cry, that man'll fold like laundry. damien, being both an expert manipulator and a little shit, learned to cry on the spot early and takes full advantage of this at least once a week

damien did genuinely cried as a baby tho after he asked talia why he doesnt have a white streak like jason and talia told him they arent related

no one can figure out why later damien was happy to start greying at 20

jason being extra jumpy all the time after he comes back and the batfam think its heightened paranoia but actually every since he came back jason can see ghosts

and its not pretty either. growing up he experienced hauntings in the wayne mansion first hand but now it breaks his heart to watch thomas in his blood covered clothes, and martha with her missing teeth & half her jaw, look longingly at the son they see every day & cant touch

okay ive been thinking of the panel where dick says he wants to adopt jason

and imagine if he did adopt jason, legally becoming his father, yet the warehouse still happens and jason still dies.

but jason still comes back. and his time with the loa is the same: he guards, assists, and raises damien all the same;

still loves him but in the end its jason who adopts damien

obsessed with this odd, very young, little family.

thinking about batkids absolutely refusing to do anything on missions. they arent moving from watch points, or backing up bruce in fights until he says The Phrase. over time he gets so fuckin used to, the kids having pavloved him into saying it whenever he needs help, on a mission now even at home in the manor. its not until the comms are dead silent on a mission with clarke that he realises he just told the justice league to "go silly mode"

desperately need one shot comics (separately) that follow dick and jason as civilians

maybe them each interacting w the batfam reaching out to them.

how they handle one foot in the vigilante world

-dick: his in w the BPD and case notes, etc.

-jason: his knowledge of explosives, the criminal underworld, how to work w kids

and one foot in the civilian world

-dick: i'd like to see him retire from being an officer, put his whole criminal chasing past behind him either be a physical therapist or gymnastics coach

-jason: 100% a social worker

wanna see how they learn to be people again without the masks.

just their characters being developed outside of their mantles. especially acknowling and processing their traumas. but also giving them the chance to connect w not the batfam but the wayne family.

sure have some stakes, obvious angst, etc. but ultimately let them have the slice of life they deserve and let readers learn to love them as people before they love them as heros
