Gamer ellie x female reader !
Tumblr media
A/n: had this idea awhile back because I love gamer Els the idea is just amazing because I know she'd be a hard-core gamer. I too game but not in the way I know she would. Anyways I kinda dunno how I feel about this, I was lacking near the end with creativity but I hope you guys enjoy :)
Summary: the challenge wasn't easy, but could you resist your hot girlfriend ? Spoiler alert no
Warnings: COCKWARMING !! Soft dom Ellie. Sub reader, teasing, pet names, slight orgasm denial ??? Mdni ! And I think that's it
Masterlist
Her strap was deep inside you as you sat on her lap, your back against her front. Ellie had been gaming all day long, and truth be told. You missed her. So when she had the bright idea of the little challenge, how could you say no? She gently grabbed your face, rubbing her thumb across your cheek and says. "Go get my strap, I have a little test for you." It only intrigued you more. I mean, ofcourse you were going to get it but what possibly could this test be. As you came back over to give it to her she did what she needed to, getting back under the small blanket she had draped along her lap. She lifts it signaling for you to come sit. As you go over, in nothing but her t-shirt and underwear. You sit, in the position you're in currently. It grazing your walls.
"You're going to keep it in there ok? No protests no struggling. Keep your eye on the game, think you can do that?"
That was the challenge/test. And so far you thought you were doing pretty well. You were playing the game with ease, you found this challenge hardly challenging. But this was Ellie ofcourse she was going to make it harder for you. She leans back on the bed, resting her hands on the sheets, as she bucks her hips swiftly. Your eyes widen, making your breath hitch as you feel it move inside you, it only makes you mess up on the game. "Careful mama." You swallow, not only at the name but at every little thing she's doing right now. The strap feels as if it was deeper, she could feel the exact same thing. "Els.." She hums as you say that, only making your brain go fuzzy. "Don't struggle baby... remember what I said." Your eyes close, only for a second, remembering what she had said.
You open them again and look at the TV. Going to move the joystick on the controller. It was getting harder to focus as she fucks up into you, again. You let out a small moan, trying so hard not to make any noises. Your head turns slightly to look at her, she had a sly smirk on her face looking right at you. The next look she gave you made you instantly look back at the TV, you had to stay strong. Knowing exactly what she was up to. The neediness was increasing, you could feel it. Focusing was far from your mind right now. "Ellie." There was a silence. "Focus baby. Know you can." You didn't know why but you were starting to feel slightly frustrated. "Ellie i cant-" you breathe out, closing your eyes again. What on earth did you agree to. "Yes you can, youre doing so well." The praise goes straight to your head, resulting in you letting out a small moan. Wanting to move yourself on her strap. "Ellie please." You whine out. And she won. Making her smirk grow. She knew you'd loose this, she knew all along.
"This isn't fair.." You let out more breaths beginning to move, but she stills your hips. Letting out a tut. "The game isn't over pretty girl." You roll your eyes, swiveling on the strap, shocking her slightly as you push her down on the bed. "You're a dick." You say leaning to kiss her, wanting to wipe the growing smirk off her face. Knowing what you had just said boosted her ego more. She gladly kisses back, feeling you move on her strap. "Fuck you're hot." She mumbles against your lips, hungrily kissing you. Her hands move to your ass, lifting your her shirt up a tiny bit. As you keep the pace you could feel yourself getting tired, still with the same need as before. She notices this going to flip the two of you over. "Getting tired princess?" She lets out a small chuckle but you're too out of it to argue, letting out a small groan. And without any warning she thrusts deep and hard.
Earning a loud moan from you as you awaited her to move inside you for what felt like forever. "Oh my god-" You let out. She goes to your neck going to suck a purple mark, keeping her thrusts consistent. You could feel yourself getting closer to that amazing feeling when out of nowhere she stops inside you. "Thought I was going to go easy on you sweetheart?" You stare at her with your mouth hung open in shock, letting out another small whine. "Ellie." You wriggle underneath her, desperate for her movements. She just shakes her head. "Did you not just call me a dick a minute or two ago? Hmm?" Her tone was soft, nearly taunting. As she goes close to you ear, feeling her warm breath, sending shivers down your spine. "Y-yes-" She moves her face once you speak. "Well then, that wasn't very nice huh." At this point you weren't in the right mind to fight this. "Please Ellie please I need you so bad, I need you to fill me up so good." You blab, only for her to shut you up with a deep kiss. "Good girl, that's what I like to hear." You had to admit whenever she got like this it was insanely attractive and it only heightened your arousal. "Gunna keep being good and cum for me?" You nod, biting your lip as she begins to thrust into you again. "Words angel." "Yes." She smirks at you, speeding up a tiny bit more.
You felt it approaching quickly once again, having that knot tighten soon after, releasing with a loud moan. Her thrusts begin to slow just letting you get through your orgasm before she fully stops, pulling out of you and bringing your slightly shakey form into her chest. You try to catch your breath feeling more out of it then you were before. Everything was still and quiet. "That was a fun game." She blurts out, resulting in a small laugh from none other than you. "For you?" She then lays on her back. "You loved it." She states. You smile at her, going to crawl to lay on her, feeling genuinely exhausted. "Get some rest my love. I think I wore you out." You reply with a small hum, letting your eyes close, drifting into a deep sleep.

Mrs Vettel, ex Williams driver, current McLaren driver, can't drive while pregnant. Although she's contracted until 2026, she can't drive while she's with child. But she can't stay away from racing, and can't help but take the Williams rookie under her wing.
Sebastian Vettel x Reader, (Platonic) Logan Sargeant x Reader
Warnings: Brief description of smut
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She wasn't supposed to retire at the same time as her husband. He felt as if he was at the end of his career and there was nothing more he could offer to the sport, so he retired. He'd had his glory years in Red Bull, moved to Ferrari, every racers dream, and ended things in Aston Martin, alongside his wife's old teammate.
She still had more race left in her. She'd been with Williams for years, racing alongside Valteri Bottas, Lance Stroll, George Russell, and, later, Alex Albon. But then she moved to McLaren, a team she felt would help her fight for wins.
Her husband very thoroughly celebrated the beginning of his retirement. She found herself stuffed full of cum almost every day of winter break.
It shouldn't have been a surprise when they got pregnant. But she wanted to murder Sebastian. For all of five seconds she wanted to drown him in their pool. But, after that five seconds passed, she was overjoyed, wrapping her arms around Sebastians neck and pulling him in for a kiss.
She told McLaren and they pulled Oscar Piastri in for the year. That was how he got his first drive in F1. All because Sebastian Vettel was incredibly horny, but he didn't need to know this.
She might not have been able to drive, but she still wanted to be trackside whenever she could. Her old team gave her this opportunity. She didn't hang around the McLaren garage, as she had half expected.
No, it was Williams and the new team Principle, James Vowles, who gave her somewhere to be during the season. Even in preseason testing, she was there, watching the Williams.
It was great to be in the garage with Lily again. She'd always liked Lily, thought she was great for Alex when they first met. After her move to McLaren she rarely got to see Lily, and as much as she hated sitting in the garage, it was nice to be sat in the garage with her.
Alex was a great driver. Any advice a veteran like her could have offered him, he already knew.
But then there was his teammate.
She watched Logan from his very first race weekend. She had known about the rookie for a couple of years now and had watched him succeed in Formula Two.
But now, in the Williams tractor, he was struggling. Week after week after week he was finishing outside of the points, or he wasn't finishing at all. She really felt for him.
"Hey," she said after the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Logan hadn't spoken to anybody since he got out of the car and did all that he needed to do. Clearly he was struggling. He didn't say anything, just looked up.
She stood beside him. At her stage of pregnancy she could have gotten down to the floor to sit with him, but she wouldn't have been able to get up without help. Her hand rested on her bump as she looked down at him.
"I still remember my first season in Formula One," she said as she looked at the retired car. "It was 2013 and Seb was set to win the championship. I was in my first year in Williams and I think I only finished maybe ten races," she said with a laugh.
"Wait, seriously?" Asked Logan as he looked up.
She nodded her head. "I crashed out of most, or the car fell apart on me. Most people wondered why I had a seat for the next year, but Williams saw potential in me. I know they see it in you, too."
Every time Logan didn't finish a race, every time he came dead last, she was there. Nobody could comfort her like she did. Sometimes Seb joked that they might as well adopt him, and Logan agreed. Most up and down paddock called Logan her padawan learner, which was very fitting.
Logan began being the person she spent the most time with when Sebastian wasn't there. He'd looked up to her for many years and having her support meant the world to him. He was there for her too, making sure she had somewhere to sit and something to drink whenever she needed it.
In September, a month before her due date, Sebastian begged her to stop travelling. Just in case he wanted her home with him, where he could take care of her. They still watched every race together and she made sure to send Logan a good luck text before every practice session, qualifying, and race.
When Logan got his first points, nobody celebrated more than Sebastian Vettels wife. She was so proud of him, even if those points were because of two disqualifications. She posted a picture of him and her from a previous race on Instagram like a proud mum. Funnily enough, Logan comments 'thanks mom' on the post.
Just two weeks after this, her water broke. Sebastian got her to the hospital. He stayed by her side, holding her hand through the hours of excruciating labour.
Leon Vettel didn't cry when he was born. He was so quiet, that it actually scared his mother. But the doctors and nurses assured the new parents that he was perfectly healthy.
He was their perfect little man.
She insisted on asking Logan to be Leons godfather. They had grown so close over the last few months that it seemed fitting.
Logan accepted. As soon as the Vettels could, they were taking Leon to races. Or, Sebastian took Leon to races, to watch his mother race. Of course he was wearing a Williams hat and McLaren shirt.
"Papa," Leon said at four years old after watching the Australian Grand Prix qualifying session.
"What is it, my little man?" Asked Sebastian as he sat Leon on his lap.
"I wanna be like mama and Uncle Logan," he said, and Sebastian couldn't stop himself from grinning.

Something Special
Summary; Dustin fails to mention his sister is a cheerleader or the fact he even has one to Eddie and the other older members of Hellfire.
She isn't fussed about being in the popular crowd and kinda keeps to herself. Then she meets Eddie and something special begins.
Warnings; fluff, a lot of fluff. AU season 4
Pairings; Eddie Munson x Henderson! Reader
I do not give permission for anyone to copy my work.
💕💞
''Are you sure y/n is picking us up?". She hears Lucas ask her brother Dustin and she rushes in knowing she's already late.
Cheer practice overran by ten minutes and she was cramming hard for a test in the library straight after so she lost track of time.
Shit, her mother will freak out if her precious Dustykins is home late.
To her immense irritation when she heads into the auditorium where Hellfire is held, Dustin, Lucas and Mike are still playing Dungeons and Dragons. She huffs.
"Hey dingus, get your ass moving, you know we can't be late or panic will ensue over mums precious Dustykins".
Lucas snorts and Dustin glares at her his cheeks turning pink. "Y/n, we're still playing the game and don't call me that".
He glances to the top of the table where she can just see a head of curly brown hair peeking out, she assumes this is Eddie.
She's heard a lot about him from Dustin who worships Eddie as much as he does Steve Harrington and everyone calls Eddie the freak but she's never actually had a conversation with him.
He puts down whatever he's reading and stands up glowering at Dustin and snaps. "Who the hell is this Henderson and why is she interrupting our campaign!".
Her eyes widen and she heads over to meet him not liking his tone with her brother one bit. If anyone gets to annoy and shout at Dustin it's her.
"Hey! Don't you speak to him like that". Eddie blinks surprised as she marches up to him and Dustin looks panicked. " Shit! Shit!".
"I'm the dungeon master, this is my campaign. You come flouncing in here shouting to Henderson and interrupting the most important part of our game and dare to call me out princess?".
Princess!?
"If I want to come in and get my brother then I will, I didn't know you were still playing". Eddie stares between her and Dustin brow furrowing.
"You didn't tell me you had a sister and that she's a cheerleader or the fact that she's gorgeous Henderson". Eddie says to Dustin who makes a face and she feels her stomach flutter annoyingly.
"Gorgeous ew dude gross and I didn't tell you because she's my annoying big sister and she'd embarrass me". Oh, so she was annoying was she?
"Hey Dusty, what's that song you listen to over and over and I hear you sing to your girlfriend Suziekins...
🎶Turn around look at what you see 🎶 he clamps his hand over her mouth and Lucas and Mike snort in the background.
Eddie looks at her with something akin to approval in his eyes and Dustin shakes his head.
"Don't listen to her Eddie, she's just talking shit". She smirks at him.
"Shouldn't have called me annoying DustyBun". He sighs and she's brought back to focusing on Eddie.
She didn't know why he was called a freak by the other people in the school and just assumed they were narrow-minded because he didn't even seem that bad.
Arrogant and annoying yes but that was it. He was also kinda hot, the leather jacket/denim vest combo, his big brown eyes, the tats? Yeah, it was sexy. He was sexy.
He catches her checking him out and moves closer to her. "You're welcome to stay princess, take a seat. Dustybun won't be long".
Dustin swears and she settles down intrigued by the game and definitely intrigued by Eddie. His eyes catch hers quite a few times and when the game ends he approaches her with a glint In his eyes that makes her whole body tingle.
"So y/n wanna drop off these little shits and rent a movie or something?". Dustin looks at them both in horror.
"Like a date?". She asks suddenly feeling a little shy and he nods.
"Definitely a date sweetheart". She beams and agrees very excited to get to know Eddie better.
"I'd love to".
...
"Ahh shit". Dustin groans.

I was wondering about who initiated/asked out who in Kiki and Clara’s relationship? because in Velvette and Clara’s past relationship it was Velvette pursued the relationship. if it was Clara, who was the one who asked kiki it would be interesting, because It would be different then how Clara’s other relationship started giving her a fresh slate. Also if Clara was the one starting her second big relationship it would allow her to tell kiki when she’s ready, she would be in control over her own feelings, when, where, and how Clara would ask kiki out. Which Clara likes being in control, both because having control has protected her hole life but also i feel like Velvette was the one with the most control in their relationship. but at the same time I doubt it would be Clara who would ask because at the time when Clara meets Kiki and they start hanging out. Clara just broke up/is taking a break with her on again off again girlfriend who Clara still at that this point in time cares about Velvette. Clara probably would also be more unsure about starting something new. But when Clara begins to realize that her and Velvette’s relationship wasn’t healthy, it would be a comparison of the two relationships. Both relationships would have had been started by the possible partner (kiki and Velvette) in each respective relationship who ask Clara out but after is she is treated completely differently. One was cold and had screaming matches almost daily and the other was warm and has little fighting.
Velvette definitely initiated her relationship with Clara. At Clara's very first overlord meeting, Clara grabbed her attention, and Velvette decided "I want that" and went for it. Velvette already knew Odette, who is very picky and had no interest in Velvette as a person. Clara, on the other hand, was already a follower of Velvette's on Sinstagram, so Velvette flirting with her was kind of a "meeting her hero" moment. She was very young when they started dating, and having no prior experience, didn't know what a healthy relationship even looked like. She wanted better for herself, which is why she and Velvette broke up several times, but Velvette always managed to woo her back, hook, line, and sinker.
When Odette and Verosika started dating, Clara started to see what a healthy, functional partnership can look like. She never imagined Odette would fall for Verosika, of all people, but her sister had always been very picky, so if she chose to be with Verosika, there must have been something special there. Clara got used to the Mayday Crew hanging around, and became friends with all Verosika's friends by proxy. At some point, Clara and Kiki started talking, and she confided in Kiki everything that had transpired with Velvette the last time they'd been together.
Kiki is the first one to admit feelings, and for Clara, that is kind of scary. She still harbors feelings for Velvette, but is so unsure of whether those feelings are reciprocated. Kiki doesn't straight up ask her out at first, but slowly introduces the idea that Clara could try seeing other people. Velvette was never exclusive with her, so why should Clara have to be? Testing the waters might give Clara more perspective. Clara decides she's right. After Clara admits that, Kiki asks if she'd like to go out some time. Clara blushes profusely, completely taken off guard. But she agrees. She'd literally walked right into that one.
Clara's unsure about starting something new, but she enjoys her time with Kiki...really enjoys it, in fact. They take it slow, and see how things go, and eventually, they get more serious with time. Kiki still has one-off partners that she sees when Verosika is on tour, but when they're not on tour, Clara has her full, undivided attention. Eventually, she and Clara become exclusive, and that's when they go all-in, and make their relationship public. Velvette's public displays of jealousy start pretty quickly after that.

Henry Danger Reader Insert | Captain Man x Reader: SEASON 4
Episode 5: Danger Games Part 2
~A few hours later, in the Man Cave~
Eventually, (y/n) had dragged Ray home from Henry's house after the boy had begged her to remove him and his ragging from his ears so he and the Game Shakers could get to bed and forget about the stupid game for a few hours. She had agreed, probably quicker than she should have, but his babbling was getting to her too and with a few smiley apologies to the teens, she'd shoved him through the door so they could begin the walk back to the Man Cave, his arm wrapped around her waist as they blew more bubbles to return to normality.
Upon coming back down the elevator, they had discovered Schwoz and Bork testing out some magic tricks and seeing as though the woman had firmly told her boyfriend he was gonna have to wait to get her alone that night after his comment, they had decided to sit back and watch as Schwoz attempted to saw himself in half.
It was a cool trick to be fair, fascinating to watch, difficult to explain and hilariously funny to watch when the two men pulled a very mean trick on the poor guy and pulled the two halves further apart so he could be put back together. Now, Ray was sat on a chair, a root beer in his hand, his girl trying to hide her giggles as she perched on his knee and Bork chuckling next to them as he complained about having his torso on one side of the room and his legs a few metres away.
"Come on, you guys, put me back together!" Schwoz whined as he felt his toes wriggling, but not where he'd normally expect them to be and the strange sensation was bugging him. It was a mean prank, but no one could be assed to help him, not when it seemed oddly humorous to see him struggle, one half here and another half there.
"No, no, Schwoz, you wanted to show us a magic trick, now, you gotta finish it, right, sweet girl?" Ray exclaimed, laughing with his girl as she struggled to not smile, preferring to drown his chuckles in her drink. It wasn't her typical idea of humour but something about it was funny and seeing Ray looking so damn hot in his chair just made her want to sit with him and never move. Complaining would spoil the mood and she didn't want that, not when he looked so good and his hand was casually resting on her inner thigh.
"Yeah, just keep wiggling, Schwoz, you never know, you might get back together on your own." She teased, doing a little wiggling of her own in Ray's lap since she was feeling the effects of the porch kiss coming back and whilst she loved seeing that goofy grin on his face, she was being to regret not letting him drag her off to the bedroom the minute the elevator opened. And speaking of the elevator, Henry and Charlotte had come down to the Man Cave...with a very big problem in tow. He may or may not have brought the unconscious Game Shakers into the Man Cave because they may or may not have discovered his secret identity when they were getting ready for bed. Oops...
"Aw, but I forgot how to reattach myself! Henry! Help me!" Schwoz cried upon seeing the boy and girl wheeling in a massive tube of teens, but he was way too stressed out to help anyone but himself and the sight of the kids/strangers in the Man Cave, (y/n)'s mouth drop open in pure shock, but luckily, Ray hadn't noticed yet, which was good, as Henry started panicking. "No, no, I can't, man! I got something going on right now!"
"Uh, Bork, can you take the talking part of Schwoz out of here, please?" The young woman asked the strongman politely as her hand grew clammy at the glimpse of Hudson wearing Henry's mask that caught her eye and Henry quickly covered his face with a tissue before Ray completely lost it. He was gonna, he was gonna lose all of his shit and scream and shout, but he hadn't noticed yet and that gave them time to prepare and panicked as Schwoz's head was wheeled away.
"No, no, wait, wait, you have to take my feet, no! Stay alive, I will find you! He cried as Bork dragged him off to the hidden rooms behind the supercomputer and (y/n) had about five seconds of pointing and eyebrow gestures to silently interrogate the teens about why the fuck were there a bunch of unknown kids in the hideout and why was wearing a superhero's mask and costume. The worried, panicked, terrified, nervous, crazed hand gestures and pained expressions she got in return weren't telling a good story.
"Hey, Henry, who's in the... Hey, aren't those the Game Shaker kids?" Ray's head tilted in confusion as he finally saw the snoozing group and recognised who they were. He wasn't shouting yet, but that was because he hadn't heard the worst of it, so (y/n) latched herself onto one of his arms, preparing him and herself to hear what must've been terrible, terrible news.
"Okay, now, don't get mad, hug (y/n). Go on, hug (y/n), she keeps you calm 'cause she's your girlfriend and you love her so, hug her, please." Henry started, pointing to the woman on Ray's arm and the man frowned at his weirdly calm voice and his instructions. He followed them regardless of the strangeness of their nature, he'd never turn down an opportunity to hug his girl, but something was still bugging him. (y/n) did keep him calm when he overreacted and the way Henry spoke, it was like he was trying to tame a wild animal before it bolted.
"Henry, they're waking up!" Charlotte hissed as she noticed the Game Shakers mumbling and twitching, the side effects of the green lasers Henry had used on them wearing off. He'd panicked, knocked them and his sister out and called the girl, who he thought would know what to do, but unfortunately, Charlotte was just as out of her depth as he was. More so when she saw Ray's confusion slowly hardening into anger, even with his sweet girl running her hands up and down his chest in an effort to keep him from losing it.
"What? Oh, shhhh—Charlotte, open the elevator door. Come on, go, go!" He told her, thinking on his feet since he really didn't want to laser them all again. He could just lock them up, it was fine. She did as she was told and once the door was open he shoved the recycling tub inside before running to the control panel and flipping the power level, effectively using the elevator as a prison. All the while, Ray's hold on his girlfriend was getting incredibly tight, so much that she was worried for herself a bit (super-healing always helped her panic) and him since she had no idea how he was going to react to what had so obviously happened.
"Uh, what's going on? Why do I have to hug my girlfriend?" The man asked, his face showing that he wanted a straight answer and that for once, he was in no mood for games. Henry was sweating, Charlotte was buzzing, he could practically taste their anxiety, and it was rubbing off on him, which, in turn, rubbed off on (y/n). It really wasn't a good situation for anyone.
"Hey, why don't we all go and have some hot chocolate?"  "Could we?" Charlotte and Henry suggested, hoping that they could use their boss's love of food to help them get away from this, but not even they could distract Ray right now, not even (y/n) as she squeezed her eyes shut and dropped her forehead on the man's chest, bracing herself for a shitstorm. The adorable, goofy personality was gone and instead, there was a fuming, seriously strong superhero standing in front of them, demanding their honesty and loyalty as they kept their secret from him.
"Henry!" Ray snapped, his heart pounding as he saw them both gulp and felt his girl shiver. His blood ran cold at the thought of intimidating her, she felt so small and he forgot how huge and terrifying he could be when angry, so he cursed himself for losing control in front of her and raised a gentle hand to pet her hair, just as the Game Shakers started crying and banging for help. Their cries made him tense again, but he bit back his sharp tongue, fearing that he'd say or do something he'd regret that would make her whimper more and just the thought of that made him hurt so bad, he kept it all in, just for her.
"The—the Hudson kid, he found my gum and blew a bubble," Henry confessed, walking past his boss with his hand raking through his hair as he felt his terror rising. He was worried for himself, for Ray, for his new friends, for everything and the way Ray's face seemed to crumble with fear, disappointment and anger made it worse.
"Oh, shit, Henry..." (y/n) mumbled, ripping herself away from Ray as the panic infected her too, making her lose sight of what she really needed; his arms around her, his comforting words in her ear, telling her it would be okay. She just started pacing, her eyes screwed shut and a hand on her mouth to stop any pained noises escaping her. Ray's eyes followed her like she'd ripped out his heart and his brain automatically jumped to conclusions, assuming that she was scared of him at that moment and felt like...his arms weren't home, they were dangerous and that broke him when Henry kept going.
"And then he turned into...you know like me." He admitted, seeing how his big plan of keeping Ray with (y/n) was going to shit as the woman wrapped her arms around herself and not him, thinking that if she made herself small, then the pain would hurt less. She didn't want Ray to be mad, she didn't want Henry to lose his job, she didn't want those kids to pay the price for an accident, she didn't want any of it.
"And everyone saw?!" Ray interrogated his sidekick, his face growing red and the veins on his neck popping out as he struggled to cope with two crushing blows at once. Henry had screwed up his secret identity and possibly put his entire life's work in jeopardy and even more heartbreakingly, he had screwed up with his girl, again. How could he keep her safe if she didn't feel that with him? He'd vowed to protect her from everything she was scared of, he had never thought that he'd be on that list or that she'd be standing a few metres away from him and he'd feel like they were worlds apart. Maybe he'd judged it wrong, maybe it wasn't the right time for the ring, maybe it was but not with him...
"Yes! Yes! They all saw, man, they all saw! And the—then that—that Kenzie girl, she figured out that I'm Kid Danger!" Henry shrieked, everything just pouring out of him like he couldn't stop it, he just wanted to tell the truth even if it could make things worse for him. He was in too deep and had gone too far to lie now. "Oh my god..."
"And then—and then, I freaked out, I freaked out, man, I freaked out and then, I just...I just..." Henry panted his fingers grazing over his whiz watch as every moment replayed in his mind and he felt like he could breathe like the walls were closing in on him as Ray got closer, demanding an answer, which only made it worse. "You just what?!"
"Raymond!" (y/n) snapped, her eyes burning into him with a fury that made him back off like he'd been wounded, his heart bleeding once again as her anger was directed at him again. Now, she was scared and mad, this couldn't be good, this could only mean that she wouldn't be in his bed tonight and the next and the next, what if he'd finally done it? What if this disaster was what drove them apart? Not seeing his inner turmoil, (y/n) put her hands on Henry's shoulders and turned the kid's face in her direction, even though he couldn't meet her eyes. "Henry, I want you to take some deep breaths and tell me what happened..."
"And then, I just started zapping, (y/n/n). And I—I—I just couldn't stop, I zapped everyone...and then I zapped my sister! I zapped my sister, man!" Henry sobbed, finally letting his tears escape as he broke down and curled into Ray's chest to cry, squishing (y/n) in between the two of them as she hugged him back. Charlotte watched awkwardly as Ray tried to comfort his sidekick, not knowing if he was doing the right thing since the last time he'd tried to comfort someone, she'd pulled herself away. Oh god, was being pressed against him making her uncomfortable right now? Why was she crying too?
"Henry...hey, Henry, yeah, look at me, you're not in trouble, but we gotta fix this. And you need to stop crying because seeing you cry makes me cry! So come on, dry your eyes and get out your gum, 'cause Captain Man needs both his sidekicks right now." She pulled away from the kid, both of their eyes red and puffy from all the emotion washing over them, but once it melted away, they were left with a sense of calm and level heads. Ray's heart skipped a beat at her mention of him needing them and it couldn't have been truer; he wanted to reach out and touch her, kiss her, tell her he was sorry for being...monstrous, but he thought she'd heard enough from him for one night and chose to just silently dig around for his tube.
"Okay, yeah, you're right. We can fix this, right Ray?" Henry asked his boss, looking hopeful that he wasn't about to fire him or say that the consequences of his fuck-up were irreparable. Ray clenched his jaw and shoved a gumball in his mouth, his movements mirroring his sidekicks' albeit with much more ferocity behind them, which made the air freeze as they waited for his reply. Jeez, he definitely looked furious, tense, like if they said one more thing he'd started throwing fists.
"Yeah, we'll use the memory-wiper. They won't remember a thing." Ray grumbled, standing in a wide space so he could snap into his suit, although he'd also factored in how she needed space from his temper and he needed space to calm down. It wasn't the best method out there and certainly not the kindest, but they didn't really have any other choice, not that (y/n) could hold her tongue. Ray normally took her advice on board, factored it into his equation and listened to her when no one else wanted to, but he wasn't in a good place right now.
"We could try something differe—" She argued, knowing that they should at least talk to the kids first and see what they had to say before they removed every memory in their heads, but the way his head snapped to meet her gaze, a cold, hard sternness in his eyes, it made her words run dry and his harshness plugged the silence.
"It's not up for discussion." He told her coldly, in the harshest voice he'd ever used with her and it was like time stopped. Henry and Charlotte looked at him with shocked, almost angry expressions at the tone he decided to use and blowing the bubbles felt numb for (y/n) like she was in a goldfish bowl looking out at the muffled world around her. Her super suit materialised around her, not that she felt it, she could just feel her heart breaking as she wondered what she'd done wrong and if there was anything she could do to make it better.
With their suits on, Ray went to grab the memory wiper and Henry stumbled over to the elevator's controls, with (y/n) hovering somewhere in the middle. The tension was thick in the air and the screams and shouts in the elevator were getting louder, but even still, Ray was determined to do this, he saw no other way.
"All right, kid, time to clean up your mess." The superhero grumbled, turning up the power on the device in his hand. He didn't want to do it, it's not like he enjoyed wiping the brains of kids, far from it, neither did he like how it divided his Man Cave into different opinions and disrupted the playful harmony in there. The sooner they did this, the sooner things could get back to normal, whatever normal was.
"You don't have to say it like that." (y/n) muttered, getting out of the way so she wouldn't get blasted accidentally and she hated the way her feet took her back to Ray's side like they knew it was safest there. It was, it was always gonna be safe with him, she just didn't know if he was okay with her being there.
"Come on, man. Do we really have to erase their memories?" Henry asked Ray, praying that by some miracle, or maybe by having (y/n) back in close proximity, he'd change his mind and suddenly say that they could be left alone, but it was wishful thinking.
"Yes! And turn the elevator power back on and open the door. Sweet girl, get back, I don't want you forgetting too." The man ordered, his tone softening slightly at the end as one arm pushed his girlfriend behind his shoulder. Okay, that made her heart flutter and she swallowed to keep her emotions under control. It was just his temper, she shouldn't take it to heart and knowing that he wanted her next to him was a good start for calming things down.
Henry flipped the lever again as Ray entered the settings on the memory wiper, his muscles tense under (y/n)'s fingertips when she tested to see if he'd left her touch his back. He did, of course, he welcomed her touch, thankful that she wasn't so scared that she couldn't be with him anymore and some of his frustration melted away when her cheek rested on his shoulder blade. Maybe it was a misunderstanding...
"Arghhhh, that's bright!" "Are we in heaven?" Kenzie and Hudson gasp as the Game Shaker kids were finally freed from the elevator, all of them blinded by the bright, flashing lights as they stumbled around in their pyjamas. The Man Cave had that effect on a lot of people and they blinked in awe as they saw Captain Man, Kid Danger, Miss Danger and some other girl stood there looking awkward and nervous.
"Hey, kids..." Ray smiled tightly whilst (y/n) poked out from behind him, properly revealing herself to the teens. It broke her heart to know that in a few minutes, they wouldn't remember any of this or any one, but she daren't say anything, not when Ray was still quite mad.
"Hello, everyone," "Good evening..." Henry and (y/n) greeted away warmly, standing next to Ray so the group was isolated and Babe blinked at Charlotte. She knew who the heroes were, but this girl was a complete stranger and she was fairly certain that this was all a dream. Or maybe this was all very real and her life had just gotten a bit crazier.
"Oh, uh, my name is Daenerys Targaryen...and pretend I'm not here," Charlotte told the kids, ignoring how crazy it seemed to be named after a fantasy character, but honestly, the teens weren't that interested in her, they just wanted to know how and why they were in this whacky place.
"What happened to us?" "What is this place?" Kenzie and Trip asked, still blinking under the lights and seeing as though he was about to ruin their lives, Ray figured that a calm, soothing tone would be the best approach as he replied to them. He didn't want to scare them, that would be so annoying, having to chase down the kids as they tried to run away from the memory wiper's beams. It was just easier this way.
"Hi, everyone. Welcome to the Man Cave. Now, if you kids will just look this way, please. Look towards me, I'm just gonna use this to take a pic of you guys!" He lied, trying to seem honest, even though the device in his hands looked nothing like a camera, but at least it rolled Hudson, but then again, nearly everything fooled that kid.
"Oh, yeah. That's a great idea. Come on, everyone, let's get in close." The blond boy smiled and wrapped his arms around his friends so they could all huddle in. The girls and Trip were a little weirded out, but said nothing as Hudson squished them all together, their lips twitching into confused smiles as Ray aimed the wiper at them, powering it up to fire, but...
"All right, stop it! If you're gonna wipe their memories, you should at least have the guts to tell 'em." Henry stopped Ray at the last moment, making Charlotte and (y/n) peek out from behind their fingers as the Game Shakers gasped in horror. He was planning on doing what to them?! Pic, their asses, Captain Man was a born liar and hearing about his devious plan made them splutter. "What? Wipe our memories?!"
"Ahhh, it's fine, it's fine. It's just a camera...with a trigger. Okay, everyone, smile and say amnesia." Ray brushed off their worrying, taking aim as the teens panicked, Henry holding (y/n) back as she itched to help them or stop her dumb boyfriend or something, but he couldn't bear the thought of the man snapping at her again. His boss had a tendency to be a little destructive and so God help him, he was not gonna let him ruin the best thing in his life just because he was having a bad day. No way, Jose.
"WAIT! Wait, um, if—if you wipe our memories, we won't be able to make the cool game about you!" Babe stopped, thinking on her feet as Ray's pointer finger licked the trigger, freezing when she mentioned his video game. Smart girl, using Ray's ego was a sure-fire way to get what they wanted, mainly to retain the memories, and it made Ray pause for a moment as Kenzie took her best friend's idea and ran with it. "Yeah, and we had all those amazing ideas."
"I know, too bad, right?" Babe sighed, Trip hurriedly agreeing with them as Ray seriously considered what they were saying. He really wanted that damn game, but he had his rules and authority to think about, would he just throw all that away.
"Wait, wait like what ideas?" Yes, yes, he would do that. He was technically just testing the waters, trying to see if the kids were bluffing or not, but the idea had caught his attention and honestly, he was swaying. If they played their cards right, they were in with a chance here.
"Just stuff, like you, Captain Man, and Kid Danger and Miss Danger, travelling through time, fighting—fighting moon robots!" Babe answered, making most of it up on the spot, but she had long honed her bluffing skills and the details piqued Ray and Henry's interests. (y/n) wasn't particularly bothered about being in the game, but she saw the way her boyfriend's muscles loosened and how the memory wiper was slowly being put down, so she was willing to back it all the way. She could fight moon robots, she'd fight anything if it meant things went back to normal. "Yeah, moon robots!"
"And other villains from history." "And from the future!" Trip added, knowing that the more detail they added, the more it seemed like they'd actually thought this through and when Captain Man stroked his chin, looking all thoughtful, they held their breath. Please, no memory-wiping, please, no memory-wiping...
"Hmmm, so like a time travel angle." He pondered, loving the idea of him, plus his two sidekicks, kicking ass throughout history. That did sound awesome and just knowing that his name and face would be out there even more for people to recognise and adore, that just won him over pretty much.
"Yeah, yeah and we'll call it..." Kenzie trailed off, trying to think of something clever as Hudson wandered around the room, finally stopping when he found Schwoz's feet. He poked them, prodded them, tickled the soles so his toes wriggled and just knowing that there were someone's legs left unattended was fascinating to him.
"Crime Warp!" "Yes, Crime Warp! That's definitely the name!" Babe and Kenzie shouted, coming up with a reasonably cool name from the top of their heads and by the look of the mystified glaze in Ray's eyes, he loved it. It was mysterious, edgy and all about him (and (y/n) and Henry, but that's just semantics), what's not to love? "Crime Warp..."
"This game sounds pretty sick, dude!" Henry whispered in his ear, tapping (y/n)'s arm so she'd get close to him and encourage him too. It wasn't a lie, he loved the idea too, but the woman's voice in his ear always twisted his arm because he was wrapped around her little finger, even if his moodiness did sour things sometimes.
"And it's all about you, sweetheart..." She purred to him, carefully hugging his arm and smiling, trying to see if he would warm up just a little and it worked. It worked a lot. Ray removed his arm from her hold, making her smile drop for just a second before it went around her shoulders, bringing her body to his slightly so he could plant a kiss on her hairline, making her release a breathy laugh. It was like things were settled between them again, not in a verbal way, they'd talk it straight later, but for now, they felt...okay and that was good.
"I know, I know, sweet girl. I know." He whispered, back, standing straighter to act like nothing was happening, their hushed voices were just them having a brief pow-wow, but on the inside, his heart was fluttering. She wasn't scared, she was smiling, she didn't shun his touch, she curled into him more and when he pulled back, her hand stayed in his, keeping them connected through anything.
"But, we can't make games without our memories." "It's simple biology." Trip and Kenzie argued, making Ray consider what they were saying for a moment. He couldn't have his cake and eat it, he couldn't wipe their memories and keep the promise of a cool game about him, so he was left with a decision, do it or don't do it.
"Hey, whose feet are these?" Hudson asked, tickling Schwoz's feet with delight as they wriggled, making (y/n) look over for a moment as she heard the small man giggle in the hidden corridor. Right, she couldn't explain that phenomenon, so she just had to get the kid away from Schwoz before he peed himself from the laughter. "Hey, leave those alone, you don't know who they belong to or where they've been."
Hudson immediately ran back to Trip's side, hiding behind his back as he got a strange, unnatural feeling from the feet and he deemed it best to keep well away. Going back to the important matter at hand, Babe, Kenzie and Trip looked at Captain Man with hopeful eyes, hoping he'd spare them because they certainly hold up their side of the bargain if he did. However, when Ray went to open his mouth, the answer ready on the tip of his tongue, the computer alarm sounded, drawing the superheroes' attention away abruptly.
"Uh, what's that?" Babe asked, wondering what the invasive racket was and why the screens were flashing red. Charlotte ran over immediately, reading the monitor since that was kinda her job. "Breaking news."
"Go check it out," Ray told her, earning himself a stern glare since that was her plan the entire time. Why did he think she was walking if not to see what all the fuss was about? And, he was a tad rude; just because he was the boss didn't mean he couldn't use his manners, something his girlfriend always encouraged when he was getting a bit above himself. "What's that magic word we talked about for when you want someone to do you a favour?"
"Please," Ray added, squeezing her fingers in a silent apology as Charlotte accepted his answer. Was that so hard? Jeez, thank god (y/n) was around, he'd have them doing all sorts of laborious shit (something they'd witnessed with that whole parallel universe crap, Ray going off the rails without his soulmate).
"There was trouble tonight in New York City." Trent Overrunder started the report, grabbing everyone's attention as the news flashed up on the monitors. Upon hearing the native city's name, the Game Shakers ran over, Ray, (y/n) and Henry close behind them so they could listen for their job. Technically, it was out of their jurisdiction, New York being on the opposite side of the States, but if the need was dire, then they'd go anywhere; Captain Man would always help anyone if they asked for it.
"Also known as the Big Pear," Mary added, not realising that she'd mixed up her fruits, but the sentiment was there, not that Trent was any less forgiving, as usual.
"That's wrong, Mary." He told her, not caring how his colleague's face fell at how she'd messed up again, on national TV of all things. His face remained emotionless like he was just gonna brush over her sadness and not make her feel better, something which rubbed (y/n) the wrong way.
"I hate that guy. Why's he always gotta be so mean to her?" She whined, feeling Ray's arms snake around her waist and pull her back into his chest where he could keep all of her worries away. He knew how much she wanted to give Mary a hug for all the shit she went through and it just made him smile at how naturally caring she was. Yeah, something was up and he probably should've given it his full attention, but he couldn't, not when she looked over her shoulder and brushed her lips over his, the gentlest kiss they'd ever shared, but one they needed more than they realised.
"Anyway, tonight, a brutal attack was attempted on famous rapper, Double G Griffin when he was in his office, grilling a steak." Trent carried on, sending the Game Shakers into a deep shock and panic. Their friend, boss and dad was attacked? What the fuck? They had so many questions concerning his safety, why, how, when and who, but none had more than Trip, who felt faint at the news. He couldn't lose his dad...
"My dad was attacked?!... Okay, that's disgusting." He cried but was quickly shushed as the anchors started talking again, making him wipe away the saliva that covered his cheeks. They listened eagerly, their ears straining for every word so that they would know every detail, even if the story got worse the more it went on.
"And according to New York Police, the attackers claim to have been hired by a criminal from right here in Swellview, Doctor Minyak." The man went on, the superheroes' hair standing on end when they heard the name. That bastard, he couldn't keep it local, he just had to move out of their patch, but if he thought that they wouldn't chase after him, then he had another thing coming. He was a Swellview criminal, which meant he was still their problem.
"Minyak..." Ray growled, his arms tightening around his girl as his anger picked up again, but this time, it was well-justified. The doctor had crossed a serious line, bringing violence to the table and hurting innocents just to get under his skin and it took every ounce of restraint in his body and the feeling of (y/n) conjoining their hands to stop him from losing it again. He was glad she was there and glad that she seemed as ready to kick Minyak's ass as he was, Henry too. They didn't have much love for brutality either.
"That's the guy that was trying to stop my dad from doing the revenge charity concert." Trip exclaimed, shaking Babe's arm with every word, something he didn't realise he was doing until his grip got too tight and she yanked it away from him. She didn't need a bruise, not when they were gonna come up with a plan to save/protect Dub. "Yeah, I'm following along."
"Luckily, Double G was unharmed, but thanks to a box of fireworks, two of his main bodyguards, Bunford Simmons and Rutherford. P Ainsworth were very harmed." Trent reported, making the kids whine in sympathy as they heard the terrible, terrible news. They loved the bodyguards and would hate if anything bad happened to them and it had, so their day/night wasn't going so good.
"They'll be resting painfully in the hospital for a while, but the two bodyguards are expected to make a full recovery." Well, that was some good news, at least. No permanent damage, but it still meant Dub was unprotected and that Minyak was probably swanning around thinking his plan was gonna work for once. Like they'd ever let him contemplate that notion, he needed to know he was a loser, a cowardly, smug loser who didn't stand a chance against three superheroes and a bunch of disgruntled kids.
"I guess they forgot to guard their own bodies." Mary smiled, proud of her little wordplay even if the timing was a little awkward and morbid. Trent though, was repulsed by her humour and rather than just grin and bear it like most polite people would do, he simply stood up and walked off set, leaving the poor, blonde lady to wilt in disappointment. What an asshole.
"This is a disaster!" Trip cried, walking away from the supercomputer in a frantic fashion as he thought about the very real danger his father was in right now. No one knew how eccentric he could be, not like Ruthless and Bunny, no one knew how to keep him safe from nutters like Minyak as they did, what were they gonna do if there was another attack at the concert?
"No, no, come on. They said Bunny and Ruthless are gonna be all right." Babe followed him, her voice calm as she tried to stop his worrying, but it didn't help all that much. They still had a huge problem; who was gonna protect Double G now? They needed someone who would actually stand a chance against Minyak, someone who knew how he worked and how he thought, someone who had an excellent track record against him.
"But they're in the hospital! Resting painfully!" He snapped a reply, not meaning to be spiteful, but his emotions were running high until his eyes landed on Ray, (y/n) and Henry, wait a second... "Captain Man, Miss Danger, Kid Danger, you guys gotta come back to New York with us to protect my dad. Please!"
They thought about it for a minute, debating whether it was their problem if it was in an entirely different city, but this was Minyak, he was their problem, they angered him. It was technically, kinda their fault, not that they'd ever admit it and when Ray looked at his sidekicks, they gave him subtle nods. They were all in, willing to do what was right, but he wanted to bargain, just a little. "You guys swear you're gonna make a super cool game about me, Miss Danger and Kid Danger?"
"Yes!" "Totally!" Their enthusiastic replies were instantaneous, (y/n) and Henry giving Ray the side-eye of mild disgust at how he didn't agree unreservedly as they did. Seriously, the stupid game again? That's what he was bidding a man's life against? Another thing to be added to the pile for stern words about with his girlfriend later and more grovelling for him. He never learned. The moment was drawn out for a few seconds, Ray walking over to the magic box containing Schwoz's feet just so he could add a touch of drama, his mind already made up.
"Well, kid, sweet girl...looks like we're going to New York!" Ray broke the news with a smile, (y/n) tackling him in a flying hug as the teens breathed a sigh of relief at him accepting their request for help. He couldn't say no, it wasn't in his nature and it went against every moral fibre of his that screamed for justice, not to mention how his sweet girl would never forgive him, he could never have said no. Henry and Charlotte shared a grin too, ecstatic that they got to go on a trip they'd always wanted to go on (of course, it was about their duty too) and they also smiled at how the lovey-dovey couple were as much in love with each other as they had always been, if not more so.
"Thank you." (y/n) mumbled into Ray's ear, feeling like she should say it just to show him how she appreciated, no, admired his kindness, how he was willing to help a bunch of kids in a city that he had nothing to do with, merely because it was the right thing to. His arms tightened around her, taking most of her weight as she stood on her tiptoes and his cheek fell against the crown of her head, him feeling like she shouldn't be thanking him, he should be thanking her for sticking around when he was an asshole. No girl could leave Captain Man, they sought the fame, his good looks, his endless charm, but none stayed when all that fell, leaving him as a normal guy with normal feelings, a temper and fame that stretched to his working life and nothing else. (y/n) stayed and he was thankful for that, she loved everything, the good and the bad.
"S'okay. I'm sorry for shouting earlier, I shouldn't have taken my anger out on you, not when you were just trying to help." He replied, one hand stroking her face tenderly, his thumb running over her cheekbone as he tried to convey every ounce of remorse he felt in a twenty-three-word sentence. She was so sweet and he was so bitter at times, he wondered what did make her stay, why she didn't leave for someone who didn't have the baggage he did, the stress, the constant possibility that one emergency call might be their last if something went horribly wrong.
"It's all right. You're human, you're allowed to feel angry. Captain Man isn't indestructible on the inside and that's okay." She said softly, her hand resting on his cheek too so she could show him the same tenderness. It was just about him keeping her safe, it worked the other way too and by no means did she expect him to be perfect, he wasn't a robot, he screamed, he shouted, he did dumb shit sometimes and whilst it hurt when he was prickly with her, she always brushed it off because she knew him and knew that him at his worst was miles apart from him at his best. She stayed because she loved him, all of him.
"I love you, sweet girl. Always, even when I'm stupid and I don't show it, I love you." He mumbled, unaware of how Charlotte and Henry were still smirking, the Game Shaker kids whispering giddily amongst themselves about flying home with three superheroes. He didn't care, not when she snuggled closer and pressed a short but very sweet kiss to his lips, pulling back to lean their foreheads together.
"And I love you. Always, whether you're Captain Man or Ray Manchester, I love all of you." She replied, feeling like the Man Cave was quiet for just a moment, even with all the chattering and thrumming machines. It was peaceful between them and that meant their home was peaceful too...until Schwoz opened his big, fat mouth.
"Are we really going to New York?!" The small man shouted excitedly from the other room, assuming that the announcement extended to him too. he just had to put himself back together and he'd be with them, after all, he'd always wanted to go to the Big Apple (not pear, sorry, Mary).
"Yeah, but not you, Schwoz!" Ray shouted back, feeling a little awkward at how he'd misunderstood the situation. This was a protect and kick-ass kinda mission, two things Schwoz wasn't particularly good at. No, he needed to stay here and watch the Man Cave, both pieces of him.
"Oh, come on! Just take my upper half!" He whined, trying to convince them like he could fit into an overhead storage locker or something. Yeah, like they could get half a man past the border, just hearing his voice sent the New York kids into a perplexed horror.
"No thanks, Schwoz, that is both weird and disgusting!" (y/n) replied flatly, wishing he'd just shut it about going on the damn trip so she could get back to kissing her boyfriend, who smiled awkwardly at the teens as he kept screaming about his halves. There was never a normal day in the Man Cave...
~The next day, Double G's concert, backstage~
Well, they'd made it, the Big Apple! Broadway, Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, bagels, yellow cabs, angry people, Time Square, Central Park, the Empire State Building, everything was just pure NYC. Dub's concert was a few minutes from going live and everyone was getting into position.
Charlotte and Trip were in the broadcasting room, having used his fame and status as Double G's son to get past the security and questions people threw at them, and now, they were Ray's eyes in the sky, watching everything from every angle. Hudson, Babe and Kenzie were hanging out in different areas backstage, casually strolling around to see if they could spot Minyak, with Ray and (y/n) having stressed a "no engagement policy". They just said what they saw, they'd do all the hard work. The heroes' had to get close to Dub if they were gonna guard his body as bodyguards so they'd come up with a brilliant if embarrassing, plan. Backup Dancers, oh yeah.
The boys got to look like two adorable pharaohs, blending in with the stage's Egyptian theme and (y/n) wasn't much different. She managed to swipe a spare costume from some unsuspecting dancer and surprisingly, it fit pretty damn well. They'd have to ignore her minimal makeup, she had no time to go full Egyptian Goddess, but with the accessories, shimmery halter top and skirt, plus her gold sneakers, she looked the part and Ray was more than appreciative of the way her ass and hips were accentuated in the outfit.
(Sorry about the quality, this was the best screenshot I could grab <3)
Tumblr media
"Henry, Ray, (y/n), you copy? Henry? Ray? (y/n)?" Charlotte's concerned voice came through on their earpieces, distracting them from getting their costumes straight. Jeez, they only needed a minute, they couldn't look like a mess of international TV, people would be scrutinising them, well, it would reflect on Double G if his dancers looked weird. "Where are you guys?"
"Okay, hey, Char. We're on stage, no sign of Doctor Minyak yet." Henry reported into his watch, (y/n) biting her lip when her hand slid up Ray's arm, the muscles that rippled under her fingers completely exposed in his pharaoh tunic. Yeah, maybe she should've been concentrating a bit more, but she couldn't help give his bicep a quick squeeze, not when he deliberately flexed to make her swoon even harder. He was loving her attention, her outfit, her everything way too much to say it was supposed to be a stealth mission.
"Copy that," Charlotte replied, ending their connection for the time being so they could concentrate on their spying and she and Trip could work on the monitors. He had to be somewhere, there was no way he'd call them, swear revenge and attack the rapper for nothing, he was just being sneaky, like usual.
"Babe, Kenzie, it's (y/n), can you hear me?" The woman moved onto the next pair after she'd finished ogling her boyfriend, promising herself that she could worship his god-like chest and arms later when they'd wrapped this up. The girls picked up immediately, recognising her voice despite the name drop. They knew where the Man Cave was, they knew about Henry, it only made sense that they knew her and Ray's identities, after swearing never to tell, of course, them being way too honoured by the privilege to even think of betrayal.
"We do." "Go for Kenzie." They replied softly, trying to not seem suspicious to anyone around them by talking into their borrowed whiz watches. The last thing they wanted to do was tip-off Minyak, who no doubt had brought some goons with him, meaning there could be eyes and ears everywhere. That was why Ray was being so careful, he needed to stay one step ahead of Minyak if he was gonna spoil his plan.
"Yeah, uh, for the Captain Man, Miss Danger, Kid Danger game..." Ray butted in, thinking that since he couldn't see anything, for the time being, they could negotiate and plan a little more, despite his girlfriend making the call to ask some proper questions, not chat about the dumb game. Henry groaned, she smacked her forehead, but Ray either didn't hear or didn't care 'cause he wasn't bothered, he just turned and admired his girlfriend's figure.
"I mean, I was gonna ask if they've seen anything but okay." She muttered, noting the way his gaze trailed up her thighs and you'd think her having her hands on her hips would tell him to focus, but his pupils dilated and he just smirked, pretty pleased with the view he was getting. Soft thighs for days...
"Yeah, I just think I should have really big muscles, like even bigger than the ones I actually have." He told the girls, having been prompted by his girl feeling up his arms and it was like instant inspiration. He wasn't ignorant of the fact that she had a thing for his arms and how insanely huge they always seemed to be compared to her smaller figure and because of the way his biceps made her quiver, he just thought that they should stress that it was the game, give her something to blush about every time she played it. Almost like a subtle reminder of what/who was waiting for her at the end of the day; his muscles would always find a way to drag her onto his chest where she always slept best before finally settling around her waist for the night. Yeah, his muscles were great.
"Now is not the time for that and stop staring at your girlfriend!" Henry hissed into his watch, watching as (y/n) flushed and Ray winced from the loud feedback. He definitely got the message, the young woman even more so when she remembered who else was in on the frequency, namely a load of kids who didn't need to know how she and her boyfriend constantly drilled over each other. Henry and Charlotte were used to it, but that didn't mean the Game Shakers had to be.
"Will you guys just keep an eye on my dad?" Trip asked impatiently, feeling like everyone, mainly the superheroes AKA their main line of defence, were getting distracted. If his dad hurt then they will have failed and he wasn't gonna let that happen.
"Yeah, it's all good, Triple G. We got eyes on Double G right now." Henry soothed him, the three of them watching as Dub did some...butt exercises? His instructor was really working his hips, loosening them up for the concert, but never mind the weirdness, at least he was in their line of sight and he was out of trouble. If the guy needed to wiggled his butt, then that was fine by them.
"What are you two doing?" (y/n) asked the boys in confusion when her head snapped to her left and right and she saw that they were taking the instructors orders as their own and copying Dub's acting by shaking their butts and thrusting their hips. Lord have mercy on her filthy, sinful soul, just watching Ray move like that, it dragged her mind to the gutter, her cheeks darkening ever so slightly as they scrambled for an answer.
"Hmmm? What was that, sweet girl?" "Huh? Hmmm?" They stuttered, stopping as she knitted her eyebrows together and gave them both a judgemental look. Okay, weird but she could move on, she had to if she had any hope of not dragging her boyfriend off in search of a spare janitor's closet.
"Whatever, let's just go." She told them, taking Ray's hand and dragging him off the stage so they could keep looking for Minyak or any of his lowlife minions. It was nearly time for the show, just fifteen minutes or so and Minyak was already in the building, over the stage, in fact, plotting Double G's demise with Nurse Cohort by his side. This was gonna be the one, the one where he succeeded and regained his notoriety for finally foiling those who tried to stop him. His device, something of his own invention, was gonna turn Dub into a howling, raving idiot and embarrass him in front of millions, how intrinsically evil was that?
~Ten minutes later~
"Double G!...Double G!...Double G!" The crowd chanted, pumped for their hero's appearance on stage as the lights dimmed. This was it, the big moment, the cameras were rolling, the stage was set, everything and everyone was in place, including Minyak, all anyone had to do now, was wait for the man himself to appear on his podium and the music to start.
Dub's ass lit up on stage, two, luminescent G's on his pants so his logo would be the first thing people saw and now it made sense that he was doing butt exercises a short while beforehand. The beat picked up and so did the sway of his hips, his butt moving from side to side just like his coach had instructed him and it was a pretty funny yet incredible way to start the show, definitely a Dub special. The G logo stopped shaking as the beat reached a crescendo, the gold glitter sparkling under the lights when he fell to the sound of "drop that", illuminating the stage in a pyrotechnic explosion as sparks flew and the crowd roared.
There he was, Double G, stood in the darkness like he was blinded by the lights, but he owned the stage, commanded it and this was all part of his act. The lights turned on, smoke spreading across the room as he stepped forward on a golden platform, flanked by two more G's on the left and right as the screams deafened him.
"MIC!! SHADES!!" He yelled, both items appearing in his hands as if by magic, a trick that wowed both the people in-house and those around the world, watching from their homes. He slid the shades over his eyes like he was donning his Double G persona with that mere gesture and with the order for the audience, both in the arena and elsewhere, to scream, the show officially began as he ran up some stairs to a higher level.
"I go by the name! Double! G!" He screamed, prompting the dancers backstage to rush to their places, ready to rush on as soon as he started rapping. Ray, (y/n) and Henry, being in costume, were ushered with them, their heart rates increasing as they realised that they'd have to go one with no practice, no rhythm and no clue what they were doing. This was gonna be fun.
"I'm livin' ma life, you wishin' you could, I do ma own thing, I do it so good. No key on ma payday, it's right, high key, I'm the gold on the mic. You pay for the show, well I'm in it..." Dub rapped, his dancers knowing the moves, the beat and the superheroes stumbled awkwardly onto the stage and tried to blend in.
"Uh, what are we doing?" Henry asked the couple, (y/n) getting a vague idea of what the dance was since it was the same one from the music video, so she wasn't completely clueless, unlike Henry and Ray who had no idea what was going on. They just needed to look normal.
"Just keep an eye out for Doctor Minyak," Ray told him, more worried about the doctor and whatever he was planning than dancing. He was a superhero, not an entertainer and whilst he would like to feel (y/n)'s hips grinding up against him to the music, they had much bigger things to worry about.
"Hey, we're supposed to be dancers. Don't you know the moves from the music video?" (y/n) hissed at them, roughly copying what her fellow female dancers were doing, feeling a bit heavy-footed with the first few steps, but she was doing better than the boys, who just swung their arms and stamped their feet awkwardly, the young woman getting into it as they built up to the chorus.
"I just do what I do, so you do you! Yeah, and I never fall long! Just do what I do, so you do you! Top dog, I'm a boss! I'm in it to win it, we on! Ma squad is so Gucci, we gone! You talk 'bout my back, but you smile in my face, between ma semmies, we throwin' the shade! I'm drawin' a line in the sand! So, we keep it all in the fam, I know that I make it look easy, livin' so hot, I make you feel crazy!" The music went on, (y/n) really showing her natural rhythm as she copied the female dancers with only a few mistakes in between and she looked like one of them, her mind casting back to the music video she'd seen a million times. Ray and Henry were still awful, but all of them were looking for Minyak, who was ready to pounce.
"Nurse Cohort! It's time!" He exclaimed his special device that made people sound like Wookies still on his wrist. His assistant encouraged him to do it, wanting this whole thing to be over so she could file her nails in peace and Minyak didn't need telling twice. "I shall!"
The doctor climb up to the rigging, supporting his weight on one arm precariously as (y/n) and her newfound squad steamed forward with Dub, her hand on his shoulder like she really had been hired. She was trying to freak out at touching the Double G, telling herself that he was just a person like her and just because he was a gazillionaire didn't mean she should lose it, not when she had one eye showering the crowds and the stage for Minyak. "No! They can't do it like me!"
Being the utter idiot he was, it didn't take long to find Minyak, who slipped as he tried to cling to the rigging and landed face-first on the stage, where the sight of numerous, confused dancers diving out of the way caught the attention of those watching. Double G boogied on as the doctor groaned and got to his feet, Kenzie and Babe rushing to their stage entrance once they'd seen Minyak from their screen.
"You guys! Minyak's on stage!" Babe exclaimed into her watch, instantly piquing the attention of Ray, Henry and (y/n), the latter of whom toned down her danced and slowly moved the back of the troupe once she realised that something was going down. It's fine, she could party with Dub some other time.
"Where?!" Ray asked, his eyes frantically looking for his enemy as his girl grooved back to his side, trying to appear like she was fading out slowly, but with all the action, no one on stage could see what was happing. Minyak was just another body in the sea of people to them.
"He's stage right, next to the big G," Charlotte replied, she and Trip seeing everything from the broadcasting room, meaning that they saw the villain falling down and everything. Great, that meant they'd have to get across to the other side without looking weird or alerting Minyak, two things which were easier said than done.
"There!" Henry pointed and the couple's eyes followed his direction until they saw the man trying to avoid the dancers and all the fun going on around him. He stuck out like a sore thumb and whatever he was up to, it wasn't to wish Dub his congratulations on holding a damn good concert.
"Ugh, Minyak! He's ruining the show!" (y/n) growled, watching as the criminal limped around the stage, dragging the leg he'd injured in his fall and he was clearly causing a disruption that was hellishly confusing for anyone watching on TV. Dub hadn't noticed, or maybe he had and just carried on like a professional, but either way, the supers had to do something before he did something evil.
"Let's go back there," Ray told his sidekicks, seeing the perfect spot behind a big G for them to safely pop some gumballs. Babe and Kenzie had their own little plan of attack whilst they were transforming or whatever, following Minyak to the other side of the stage as he danced and Dub kept singing.
"Okay, guys, let's blow a bubble..." Ray started, throwing some gum into his mouth as his sidekicks stood on either side of him, mirroring his movements. He'd be sad to see (y/n) change out of her cute little dancing clothes, but he loved her in anything, preferred her in nothing, so either way, he was happy.
"And save a Double..." She smirked, turning to Henry so he could finish the rhyme they'd come up with on the flight over to New York and damn, it felt epic to say as they prepared to don their hero attire. "G!" Their bubbles popped, the Egyptian costumes disappeared and in their place stood Captain Man, Kid Danger and Miss Danger, ready to kick some doctor butt.
Tumblr media
"Let's go attack Minyak." Henry smirked, informing how (y/n) quickly gave Ray's arm a squeeze just because they were now hidden by the suit, but by no means any smaller. They were still rock-solid, full of power and completely hers to fondle and admire; yeah, she liked his arms.
Circling back from around the G, the heroes walked onto the stage, looking to see where Minyak had scurried off to and spotted him pretty much where he had been moments prior, only this time, their striking uniforms stood out amongst the dancers and he immediately knew that they were there to spoil his plan.
"No! Captain Man, Miss Danger and Kid Danger! Quick, stop them!" He yelled, his fear spiking when he realised that he wasn't free from justice in New York and that no matter where he ran off to, they were following behind him to protect the innocent citizens of wherever. Ray, (y/n) and Henry rolled their eyes, stepping forward at his empty threats, only to recoil slightly when three masked Jackal dancers blocked their path and revealed themselves to be Billie, Jean and King from the cargo plane. They obviously hadn't learnt their lesson; never deal with Minyak unless you want trouble and face full of fist.
"I think those three dancers are Minyak's goons!" Charlotte told her watch, watching the way they acted in front of the heroes and she thought it was best to warn them, even though they could already sense the danger they were in. Well, danger for the goons, they could take these idiots any day.
"Yeah, we figured that. Don't worry, we'll sort 'em." (y/n) replied quickly, seeing Ray clench his fists in the corner of her eye and once she'd ended her reply, her fists did the same, coming up protectively over her abdomen and chest.
"Sorry, boys, girl, doctor's busy right now." One of the thugs spat, looking up and down at the heroes as if they hadn't received a pasting for crossing them last time. All they needed to do was keep them occupied whilst Minyak lined up his shot for ruining Dub's voice, but it was just Captain Man and his team fighting this battle.
"Oh, gee, that's too bad, 'cause, uh, I got this thing on my hand..." Ray grumbled, flexing his hand like it was cramping up and he stepped forward to the guy who spoke like he was in pain and definitely not like he was about to slug him. The man tilted his head, not having realised that Captain Man wasn't one for boring, he liked to add a bit of spice to his fighting. "What thing?"
"Your face!" The large man exclaimed and punched the goon across the jaw, starting a brawl between the superheroes and Minyak's heavies as they tried to punch their way across the stage, something that drew the doctor's attention. Henry ducked out of the way of Jean's punches, his hyper-motility making him seem like a blur as he jabbed at his gut, making the guy groan in agony as (y/n) took on King.
"Nope, gonna have to hit harder than that, asshole!" She smirked as he tried to punch her across the face like Ray had done to his associate, but no matter how much he tried to break her jaw, her nose, her arms, her legs, rupture her spleen or her kidneys, she just bounced back instantly, fighting through the small bursts of pain before healing back up and getting on with it. She kneed King in the groin, practically purring in victory as he doubled over in pain, allowing her to kick him in the face too. That gotta hurt, but Minyak was taking his final shot and they were all busy scrapping, so desperate times called for desperate measures...
"That's a rap, Double G! No! Hold still!" He growled, trying to get a fix on the man as he danced to his music, meaning he couldn't get a clear shot. That was good, Dub was unknowingly protecting himself from lifelong embarrassment and Charlotte was quick to notice Minyak's shenanigans.
"You guys! Minyak's aiming something at Dub!" The girl told the heroes, not knowing what the something was, but it couldn't be friendly, not when he was scowling like that. Seeing that they needed to get over there and fast, Ray and (y/n) gave their opponents the hardest punches they could, rendering them dazed and confused for a few moments as Henry pummelled his guy's stomach with lightning speed, knocking him to the ground too. Meanwhile backstage, Babe and Kenzie were on a mission of their own, sneaking to the lights guy and with a little distraction, they were able to mess with his controls so the bright stage lights blinded Minyak from his task, buying their friends some time.
"Say goodbye to your voice, Double—Argh!" Minyak groaned as he tried to say another quirky line before he went down in history and he did go down, right after he was kicked in the face back a dancer twirling around the stage. He fell to the floor, dropping his device as he stumbled and clutched his cheek before looking around for the thing that was gonna bring him fame and glory. "My thing! Where did it go?!"
"Captain Man! Miss Danger! Kid Danger! Minyak's weapon is right behind you!" Charlotte's voice came through on their earpieces, she and Trip were still able to see anything and everything. They knew where the thing was, they could see it on the monitor, but they couldn't grab it and it was so frustrating to see it lying there as Minyak struggled for clarity.
"Wait. Where'd you say the weapon is again?" Henry asked, (y/n) and Ray were a little preoccupied with two guys double-teaming them to listen properly. They heard something about the weapon but were a little busy working together to fend the men off, Ray lifting his girl up so she could kick a guy in the face when he came running towards them, him slamming his elbow back into a man's nose when he came running from behind. That kinda thing.
"On the floor!" Charlotte stressed, wishing she could run ad tell them or do it herself, but she wasn't close enough to to the stage and a small break in their brawl allowed (y/n) to search the stage floor as Ray gave her a bit of cover, beating any guy who dared to come near her into a pulp.
"There! Kid, it's on the floor, there!" She yelled, pointing at the wrist thing momentarily before Billie or Jean or King or whoever grabbed her arm, twisting it harshly so she had to give up and fight back, kicking his shin with her steel-toe boot. Seeing where she was gesturing to, Henry made a split-second judgement call and dived for the device thing, sliding along the floor to grab it when a thug grabbed his ankle and yanked him back, leaving the weapon where it laid.
Henry was back into the fray, kicking the guy who grabbed him as the music continued, the dancers danced, Dub rapped and Minyak howled in frustration, scouring the ground for his thingamjiggy. He stormed past Captain Man, who was too busy smacking a guy who'd briefly bruised (y/n) to stop him and made his way up the stairs, going for Dub with or without his invention. He could still ruin the show with his bare hands.
"Man, who the butt are you?!" Dub screamed as he turned and saw some crazy, heavily breathing weirdo claw for him, disrupting the show as he was forced to quit rapping to keep himself safe.
"Doctor Horacio. T Minyak!" He bellowed in response, ready to end this charade once and for all. Meanwhile, the backstage crew were going insane, panicking about what the hell was going on and wondering who the party-crashed was arguing with their star, but no one had an answer and Dub was too much of a professional to let some sick loner ruin his revenge concert for some poor kids.
"If you wanna stop me, this is the wrong time!" Dub screamed, still moving with the music so the crowd wouldn't worry or stampede, but he was very confused and slightly fearful as to what this psycho was doing on his stage. Seriously, where was his security?
"What do you want?!" He screeched again when Minyak lunged for him, the weapon being kicked around on the floor as everyone struggled for control, apart from Kenzie, who poked her head out from the curtains to see what was happening.
"Kenzie! You gotta grab this!" (y/n) shouted after she noticed the girl and shoved the thug trying to restrain her backwards so she could kick it in her direction. The weapon skidded across the stage, landing next to the teen who quickly picked it up, unsure of what to do now that she had it.
"Sweet! What do I do with this?!" She yelled, hoping they could give her some guidance since they were the superheroes, not her. She was just a nerd who made video games with her friends, she wasn't a fighter, she was a Games Shaker.
"Blast Minyak!" Ray replied back with a shout, punching a goon again as he struggled to keep them down. These men were relentless and even though they were nowhere near tired yet, all this crap was getting pretty repetitive. Their advice boggled the brainiac, who had no idea how to "blast Minyak", but she didn't have much time to think about it as a henchman strode towards her, intent on ripping his boss's thing from her hands. The girl screamed and ducked back behind the curtains, seeing Hudson checking out the buffet.
"Hudson! Catch! Blast Minyak!" She screamed, making the boy roar (Minyak had tested his weapon out on him, what a dick) as he received the invention and Billie came into the backstage area, making Kenzie scream again. He ran for Hudson, only to be stopped by two stagehands wheeling a huge G across the room and the boys hopped around it like they were playing tag, only with much more dire consequences. Babe came running when she heard the commotion and seeing his chance to lose the psycho chasing him, he chucked the device in her direction, allowing her to catch it just as Billie grabbed him. He put up a fight, a producer joining him, buying Babe enough time to run back on stage where Minyak had taken Dub to the floor where he'd strangle him or something.
"Babe! Blast Minyak!" Henry instructed her when he saw how she had no clue what to do, and her floundering tuned to a calm smile when she saw how cute he was when fighting. Aw, (y/n) saw the look between them, something that didn't distract her from twisting a thug's arm behind his back, but definitely warmed her heart even in the moment of peril.
"Anything for you, Kid Danger!" She replied sweetly, feeling her heart flutter as Dub pinned Minyak down for ruining his concert. They needed to get this show back to normal and there was no telling was the mad doctor would do next, so there was no time for romance.
"Babe, blast him now!" (y/n) shouted, struggling to watch for any men that might charge at her as the one she was facing grew more and more relentless. Seeing that she had no other options, the girl looked to her left and decided to climb the stage's support structure for a better shot, one where she'd be high enough to get the doctor and not her boss/friend. Billie broke free from backstage, rushing to tackle her from the rigging, which made her freeze in terror, only for Kenzie and Hudson to hold him back with all their strength. Seeing that she was the only one who could do this, she aimed the blaster at Minyak, but Dub was still in the way and she couldn't risk hitting him.
"Dad! Jump! Hurry, dad! Jump!" Trip's voice came over the intercom, reverberating all around the arena as Dub recognised his son's voice. Dub wasn't going to stick around with Minyak for much longer and trusting his son who could see that he'd have the perfect landing, he made the leap of faith, landing perfectly in Ray's arms. Well, it wasn't every day he got to carry a famous rapper bridal style, this was an honour.
"Hello, Double G! Glad I could catch your show." He smirked, so proud of himself for coming up with that quip on the spot and as (y/n) stumbled over to see if they were all right, the couple was shocked to discover that Dub knew who they were. Okay, pinch them, this had to be a dream...
"Captain Man! I love you and Miss Danger! Your girl is hot!" He screamed, making (y/n) blush and squeal to herself at the kind compliment and Ray blushed as he furiously nodded in agreement. His girl was hot and he was also kinda fangirling on the inside at how he'd touched Double G, holy shit. Everyone but Minyak was happy and he just so happened to pick up the leftover mic from when Dub had dropped to safety.
"Stop! Everyone halt your gyrations!" The villain screamed, silencing the festivities as the heroes looked at each other to see what he'd do next. He was unpredictable, anything could come out of his mouth, anything to ruin the concert. "People of the world! Look at me! I am the greatest supervillain of all time!" He screamed into the mic, just as Babe took her shot, free from other people or weirdos trying to attack her, it hit dead centre, making Minyak's head go all fuzzy for a second.
He looked dazed for a few seconds, everyone watching with bated breath for him to say or do something but he just shook his head and stared at the crowd blindly.
"ARGHHHHGHHGGRGHH!" Was the only thing that came out of his mouth. He really did sound like a Wookie and the audience began to laugh at how ridiculous he sounded, because the angrier he got, the more his garbled voice became hilarious. Ray and (y/n) giggled with each other as Henry and Dub snorted and Minyak fell to his knees in despair, finally admitting defeat as the world laughed at him. Another plan failed, oh well.
"All right, let's bring it home!" Dub yelled, picking up his mic so they could continue from where they'd left off and the music soon came back on, the crowd getting back into it as Henry and Ray did their little hand clap thing for a job well done and went to walk off the stage, but Dub wasn't gonna have that. They'd saved him, this was their moment as much as his. "Hey, hey, hey! Come on, guys, yeah, yeah!"
"Just do what I want so you do you! And I never fall long!" The man sang again, dragging the heroes to centre stage where they just accepted the fact that they were part of the show now and just accepted it as the dancers came back on. They moved to the rhythm unashamedly, Ray and (y/n) laughing along together as he held onto her hips and she followed the actual routine. She'd have to teach him later.
Hearing Babe, Kenzie and Hudson cheering at the side of the stage, they beckoned them over, knowing that they'd saved the day just as much as they had and they deserved to party too, rub it in Minyak's face a little as he sulked and watched. Charlotte and Trip were quick to join too, the former being a little shy so she just stuck to the back, but Trip tackled his dad in a warm hug, so relieved to see him okay. The dancing continued, the group of the Man Cave team and the Game Shakers entertaining the crowd of thousands.
"Hey, Hen?" (y/n) yelled in the boy's ear, knowing the music would cover up what they were talking about. Plus, everyone's focus was mainly on Dub or maybe Trip, the real celebrities, so she was free to do a little digging as she swayed her hips with Ray, enjoying the feeling of his hands casually running up and down her waist.
"Yeah, what?" The boy asked casually, too focused on his moves to notice the lilt in her voice or the small smirk on her face. He just wanted to keep dancing to Drop That Wat, it was only when she spoke again that he started paying attention.
"So, uh, that Babe girl, over there? She likes you, a lot, I think." She smirked, watching as the kid froze for a second before moving again, although this time he was noticeably less energetic and his eyes quickly darted across the golden GG platform to see the brunette laughing with her friends. Wait, he knew that they'd been a little weird in his house, maybe a little smiley, but really? A crush on him? A Game Shaker? He didn't know how to react to that, but Babe was really pretty and he'd found himself smiling back, laughing when she said something funny...oh, god, did he like her too?
"You really think so?" He asked, the woman laughing at how his eyes were as wide as saucers and how his skin went pale before he blushed. Wow, he was really easy to read when it came to romance and just by the way he bit his lip, she already knew that there were two new lovebirds in her life. She'd watched way too many romcoms to be wrong, she knew cute love stories inside out, apart from when it came to spotting how her best friend was in love with her and had thought she was the most beautiful, intelligent, unattainable woman for ten years before they confessed, but that was neither here nor there.
"Yeah, she obviously has a crush on you. And I mean you, not Kid Danger. Would I be correct in assuming that you like her a bit too?" (y/n) smiled widely, her cheeks aching a bit as Ray twirled her a bit, completely oblivious to their conversation since it was about love and he wasn't very good at noticing that either unless it was pointed or forced out of him. Henry gulped, glancing at Babe again and his breath hitched and that was an answer. He didn't need to say anymore, she just knew when his dancing died down to barely a jig and his face grew into a smile without him even noticing it. Yeah, there it was, the lovesick smile, the one that she, that Ray, that anyone who had ever been in love had given to their crush and Henry Hart was giving it to Babe Carano.
"Maybe. Just a bit, she's really pretty and funny and cool and—" Henry stopped himself realising that he rambling and gushing about the girl he'd only known for a couple of days, but to (y/n), it was cute and she knew that people who waited rarely found happiness, they were just left with regret.
"Take it from me, kid. I waited ten years to tell the man I love that I felt the same way and I wish that we had said it sooner, 'cause it would've meant less pain and confusion on both sides. Just stay honest with her and see how it goes. I'd hate to see you regret not doing anything." She put a hand on his shoulder, not caring if it seemed weird that they were having some touching moment in front of thousands, if not millions, of people, but it felt like it was just them, a sister advising her brother on what to do.
"Thanks, (y/n/n). Ray...doesn't know how lucky he is." He returned her soft smile, seeing her eyes wrinkle in happiness at her words before the man in question saw that she wasn't dancing and pulled her back into his chest, inspiring a fit of giggles and more movement from her as Henry watched with a sigh.
Maybe he would stay in touch with Babe, maybe he would tell her that he was interested in being more than friends and maybe if his friend was right, they could be something more. All he knew was that Ray better get down on one knee soon, 'cause girls like (y/n), they're one in a million.

bryan has died. (for scarlett)
Tell my muse that someone has died for their reaction. // mischiefxmanagcd
Tumblr media
"Bryan has died." Those might not have been Sue Ellen's exact words, but any further information about how he'd died suddenly in his sleep from an apparent aortic aneurysm and been found by his landlord the next morning after failing to turn in his keys before he was scheduled to leave town had fallen on deaf ears. Bryan was gone. He was gone, and he wasn't ever coming back. Other than completely stunned, Scarlett had no idea how she was supposed to feel when she could barely even process those three simple, little words. "No." The single syllable protest slipped off her tongue before she even realized she'd spoken it. None of this made any sense. It had to be some sort of a mistake, but out of everyone in her life, she knew deep down that her mother was the least likely to tell her something that wasn't actually true. Unfortunately, that didn't make attempting to wrap her head around the whole thing any easier. "I just saw him the other day. We said everything we needed to say -- or at least I thought we had anyway -- and he was perfectly fine when I left." Well, as fine as a man could be when the woman he loved had just broken up with him and was only at his place to say her final goodbye and get the proper closure they both needed anyway. Little did either one of them know at the time, but that short and sweet visit would ultimately turn out to be the last conversation they'd ever have and the most permanent of goodbyes. "It's possible he didn't even know there was anything wrong. I know it's not much comfort, but from what I understand, it was quick, and he didn't feel any pain." Sue Ellen wasn't family or Bryan's next of kin, so the only reason she'd manage to get as much information as she had from the person on the other end of the line was because of the Ewing name. Of course he hadn't felt any pain, because Scarlett was feeling more than enough for the both of them and then some right now. It'd all been thrown onto her, and the weight was so heavy that she felt like she might suffocate from the whole thing at any minute. "He thought I hated him. He died thinkin' I couldn't stand him, all because of some stupid business deal. This is all my fault." Tears were finally beginning to flow freely down cheeks that now wore the color of her name. Memories of the past couple of months had come flooding back, as if they wanted to take this opportunity to laugh in her face for all the unncessary heartache she'd caused him. Without another word, Sue Ellen pulled her daughter into her arms, holding her close as guilt ridden and heart wrenching sobs wracked the younger woman's body. Tucking a stray lock of hair behind Scarlett's ear, she quietly reminded her that none of what had happened was her fault and everything was going to be okay. How exactly, she had no idea, but no matter what, they'd get through this tragedy together as a family, just like the Ewings always did. After what felt like an eternity and with no more tears left to cry, Scarlett eventually pulled back and composed herself, returning to her perfect ladylike mode with almost the simple flick of a switch. Sue Ellen mentioned something about getting some rest, and she was too exhausted and numb to do anything but agree. Stretching out on the living room sofa, she curled up underneath the blanket that had just been draped over her, closing her eyes, despite the fact that all she saw each time was everything that could have been, had their life together not become such a twisted, fucked up mess. The worst part of it all, though? After the positive test she'd received earlier that morning, there'd been a real possibility that they'd just bonded themselves together for the rest of forever. Unfortunately, whether or not the discovery would've or even could've honestly saved what was left of their relationship no longer mattered and would never be known. What was it they said about how once one life ended, a new life was born?

Okay warning from this point onward there will be some gore shown. I'll leave the actual images below the cut here.
Devil's Train - Andromeda Callistor
Tumblr media
[Image ID: A drawing of 3 characters and a train with an overall red tint. The central character is a humanoid looking alien. Her brown hair is in a half-up half-down style, one side with a pigtail and one in a loose bun that appears to be coming undone. The implication is meant to be that she had her hair in buns, and the pigtail was a bun that fully came undone. She has pointy ears, light skin, and lime green eyes, with the same-colored dots beneath them. She looks startled. Her outfit is a black tubetop shirt with the top of it being fishnet. She is also wearing a violet jacket. in the background is a man with gray hair, the same colored skin and eyes as the central character, wearing a backwards shirt that's ripped. His left arm has the top half missing, bone exposed, and his right arm has scratches. His ribcage and spine are exposed, as are his lungs, and his small intestine is visible. He's wearing brown pants. There's also a close up of another character in the background. Only her head and fingertips are visible. She has light skin and auburn hair in a half-up half-down bun, and her eyes are shrouded by shadow. She has green nail polish and a sinister smile on her face. In the foreground is a black old train, lit by red, with yellow windows and the number 666. There's also red text outlined in white that says "Devil's train" in all capitals. The background is a dark red with a lighter shade in the middle. The whole piece has a glitch effect on it, strongest on the central character. End ID.]
Yes I did come up with an unnecessary backstory for the character because I really liked the song why do you ask?
This information is irrelevant for anyone NOT involved in (C.C.C.) L.A.R.P. 2024 but basically the backstory I've come up with is regarding how she'd met Kiera. She was always an experimenter, though her experiments weren't ever within the confines of a science class. Some were dangerous and others unethical. One of her more dangerous (to herself) experiments was a chemical mixing. She was trying to create a psychadelic for herself and others. She didn't have any willing test subjects, so she took the concoction herself. She begin to see and hear things, alright, but it wasn't any of the crazy or "cool" things she anticipated. She saw disturbing things, namely, the ghost of her grandfather who had gone missing years ago. She ran away from home in sheer terror and still saw and heard things. Kiera found her in her delirious state, learned of how she had gotten herself like this, and scolded her, but also told her she needed a safe way to conduct her experiments. She brings up the upcoming space expedition to the planet Earth, and that the goal is to find and study any life on it. Kiera tells Andromeda that she plans to join the expedition, and encourages Andromeda to pursue biology, promising that it she gets accepted into the program, she'll use her connections to land Andie a spot in the program as a scientist and "researcher" (the research being direct experimentation on the life that they find.) Andromeda's captivated. She agrees, excited at the prospect of being able to conduct her experiments on any subject she wants, without repercussions, and without needing to resort to using herself as a guinea pig.
Will this backstory become canon? Maybe. Maybe not. It doesn't have much bearing on the story of the present and is mostly just self indulgent so I can have something to imagine to the song.

Generation One - Chapter Two
The last time we saw River she was beginning a journey in learning Komorebigo so she could impress the foreign exchange student at her school. She'd already joined the cheer team to impress another guy, and that didn't go so well, so will this work out in her favor? We soon shall see...!
Tumblr media
It'd been a couple weeks since prom and mid terms were looming over everyone's heads. River had mistakenly signed up for an art class, thinking she would enjoy it, but was greatly mistaken. As it turned out - she hated art. She had never really explored too many hobbies or interests growing up, so she wasn't quite sure what she was good at, but painting for sure wasn't her strong suit.
Tumblr media
Of course, this proved to be a problem during her art mid-term. She couldn't remember any of the answers to the questions, and she couldn't rely on her art skills to get her out of trouble either.
Tumblr media
School might have not been going so well academic-wise, but cheerleading was still fun! Even if it didn't land her the popular, artsy boyfriend she had wanted in Rohan, she felt like she had more energy, which was keeping her from constantly feeling angry.
Tumblr media
Her cheer coach, however, wanted her to improve her grades. She warned her that if her grades slipped too low, she'd be kicked off the team.
"I won't let it happen! I'm just doing bad at art. I'll bring my grades up, I promise!"
River made sure to do all her homework, but focused mostly on studying Komorebigo. She was already doing pretty good and would say phrases to Ichiban when she would see him in the hallway. They, unfortunately, weren't in any classes together, but at least they sometimes ate lunch with one another.
One day in class, behind her, River could hear Joe moving closer to Dustin, asking him something odd.
"...smell good?" was the only thing she could hear, along with a "Dude, what are you talking about?" from Dustin.
Tumblr media
Shortly after, River got a creepy SocialBunny message from Joe. It unnerved her quite a bit, so she tried avoiding him for the rest of the week at school. It was a little hard, considering they had a number of classes together, but thankfully she succeeded.
A few days later she met up with Havarti to talk about what had happened.
Tumblr media
"What is wrong with that guy?" Havarti asked when River showed her the message. "He is so creepy." River agreed. She still never found out what was up on the night of prom, and what Joe had to do with all of it. Rohan kept making suspicious comments about him, and she still wasn't sure why.
"You still haven't figured out what that was about?" Havarti asked, "You're always so curious. I figured you'd be out trying to get answers."
"I don't even know where to start honestly." River thought back to around the time she was asked to prom by Rohan. Suddenly it hit her - Opal! Opal had warned her about Rohan, although it came across as a jealous threat at the time. River decided she would have to have a talk with her soon regarding the situation.
A couple days later at school Joe approached River during class.
"What are you reading there?"
River tensed up and looked up from her book. She wasn't really reading anything, just skimming some sections of her English book because she needed to pass her test in the next period.
Tumblr media
"Uh... Yeah." River exchanged an awkward glance with Havarti, then looked up at Joe, mentally begging him to go away. Thankfully it worked. When he didn't get a comment out of River he sighed and walked off.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That afternoon River met up with Ichiban who was tutoring her in Komorebigo, while she was tutoring him in Simlish. Her skills had improved quite a bit, and so had his.
Tumblr media
"I like spending time with you." Ichiban smiled bashfully. They'd been picking on each other and teaching each other insults. River felt her cheeks burning, "I like spending time with you too."
River had snooped on Ichiban after developing her crush. Most people at school saw him as a goofball, someone who didn't take school too seriously, and someone who would probably kick your ass if you messed with his friends. Word in the halls was that he'd been a troublemaker in his own country of Mt. Komorebi. There were other rumors that he was involved in crime, but truthfully that just made him more interesting in River's eyes. Criminal or not, he was sweet and funny and positive.
He was an influence on her, but maybe not always the best one. River already liked messing around before meeting him, but after becoming his friend she began pulling more pranks than usual.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Hey Mike, you're in suspension too?"
"Yeah. I called my teacher an ass."
"Cool. I drew all over the teacher's whiteboard."
"Awesome."
Tumblr media
They had been growing closer for about two months, which was more than enough time for Ichiban to develop feelings for River. However, it still shocked her when he suddenly asked her to be his girlfriend.
"Wait... Me?!"
Ichiban laughed, "Of course! Who else?"
"Of course I will!" This time River had a better feeling. Ichiban didn't give her creepy vibes like Rohan had.
The semester continued onward and the holidays were fast approaching. It was River's time having a significant other during the holiday, so she didn't want to pressure him into spending time too much time with her. Especially considering he already had plans.
Tumblr media
River spent the Harvest Fest holiday preparing a grand breakfast with Mercy. Her mom usually did all of the cooking, but River wanted to try it out for herself for once!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After dinner was over, River received a phone call from Havarti.
"We haven't had any time to spend together recently! Are you free any time soon?"
"I'm free. You wanna hang out this weekend?"
"Yes, please!"
"Sure! I'll be at your house Saturday evening then!"
River arrived promptly and was greeted by Havarti, but was interrupted by her father Paneer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
River hadn't heard anything about this tech startup, but figured it had something to do with his company and the internship they were supposed to do during their senior year. Havarti's dad had always wanted her to take over the family business when she got older, but River wasn't sure that's what Havarti wanted...
Tumblr media
River was suddenly spooked by Malibu Waterson who popped up behind her. She was a classmate of River and Havarti's, but they didn't take the same classes, so they rarely saw one another. Earlier in the year Havarti's dad and Malibu's mom started a relationship, although Havarti never talked about it... She mentioned it so little in fact that River had forgotten all about it!
Tumblr media
Malibu and River had never been friends, but they were always genial with one another. She and Havarti as well. River wondered what it was like with the two of them living under one roof...?
Tumblr media
Once inside River and Havarti gossiped and caught up with one another from the past few weeks of crunch time. River figured it'd be a good time to ask Havarti what was up with the tech startup talk too.
Tumblr media
Havarti was tight-lipped though and seemed to get annoyed by even the mention of it.
"What I'm interested in knowing is whether you ever got to talk to Opal about Rohan?"
"Damn. No." River clenched her fist, "I've been so busy. I'm almost at a point now where I don't care, since I've got Ichiban and all. But I'm still curious about what she knows..."
"We should go to her house!"
"That's a horrible idea! She'll kill us!"
"Not if we show up together!"
And thus, the two of them plotted to visit Opal Berry at her home in Moonwood Mill...

The One Good Thing
Rowaelin Month, Day Two
Tumblr media
A/N: again, I'm gonna fail all my exams because of this stupid app, I'm sure. Also, I miss the off campus boys so much I kinda made Fenrys one of them and I love the idea of the tog men as hockey players so yeah, enjoy;)
Word count: 2,581
Aelin would have killed for a second of silence.
She daydreamed of that almost noisy quiet that makes you feel every deepest thought hidden in your brain that exists only at 3 a.m., when every soul is resting and cars can't drive around the campus. And there are no children screaming at the top of their lungs or parties going on all night long.
That was what she had been promised, the flyers she'd been handed during the open days, when she had come to visit the college.
That was how it was supposed to be.
Aelin had tried so many times to ask her upstairs flatmate to hold his Twitch live streams strictly in the afternoons or mornings when she wouldn't be home, but when Fenrys Moonbeam had first opened the door to his place, the girl had known immediately that she wouldn't be able to change his mind even by paying him.
Especially since his live streams were followed by such a large audience that Aelin couldn't even begin to understand how he had managed to build an empire so big in just under a month. Surely it had something to do with the long blond hair, different from her own but just as beautiful, and the arms covered in tattoos so colourful they blind you. They had their own charm. Add to the pile the fact that he was the goalie on the hockey team, and he was the perfect mix for the guy to marry.
From what their common friends had told her, he was already earning enough to afford an off-campus home, but that he liked the comfort the college dorm gave.
A comfort that Aelin, after three years in those filthy rooms and shared bathrooms, had yet to find.
When yet another howl of celebration at yet another victory that everyone expected pierced through his floor and her ceiling, nearly drilling her eardrums, Aelin gritted her teeth so hard that for a moment she feared they might shatter.
She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath and trying to whisper, "Shut," failed miserably to keep her tone under control and shrieked the second word, "up!"
A booming laugh rang out upstairs and a millisecond later a message lit up her phone screen.
From Lys: Girl, maybe you should take a chill pill, I heard you on the live stream. Are you still studying?
She tossed the phone to the side, pulling her hair up and pinning it back with a pencil.
"Fuck off." she muttered under her breath.
Lysandra was one of the few in their group of friends who never missed a Fenrys broadcast. Whether it was at eleven at night or five in the morning, she was always one of the first to join in.
Aelin often wondered if she was just doing it because Fenrys was helping her sponsor her YouTube channel, but then she remembered that Lysandra would do the same for all her friends.
She got out of bed, taking all her books and notes in her arms, pen in her mouth and holding her phone between her pinky and ring fingers. She threw open the door to her room and found herself facing a wall of muscle, slamming into her roommate's chest.
Rowan's hands snapped forward and kept her from falling backwards and when Aelin looked up at his face, she almost lost her balance again.
His face was sleepy, only one eye open as he suppressed a yawn. The imprint of the pillowcase on his cheek just another sign that he had already been sleeping.
"Are you okay?" he asked her in a hoarse voice, stepping back and letting her through, "I heard you screaming. I was coming to check on you."
Aelin grimaced, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you."
He shook his head, moving a hand in mid-air, "Don't worry about it." then his gaze snapped to the ceiling as another laugh from Fenrys cut through the thin material dividing their quarters. He frowned, lowering his gaze back to her, and it was at that moment that he noticed the books in her arms.
If possible, his frown deepened even more.
He closed his eyes, gently grabbing her wrist and leaning against the wall behind him, pulling her towards him.
Aelin let herself be tugged, arranging the books so that they didn't poke at either her or him in that uncomfortable hug, but she positioned her head against his chest, letting his fingers expertly massage the nape of her neck.
"Baby." he sighed into her hair. Her toes curled.
It had only been a few weeks since they had decided to start dating, a few weeks since Rowan had confessed to having feelings for her. They had exchanged a few kisses in secret from their friends, wanting to enjoy that first phase of their very fresh relationship in privacy. They hadn't done anything too steamy yet, and Aelin had more than agreed with his decision to take it slow, but one thing Rowan hadn't held back in the slightest from the first second she'd agreed to go out with him had been the pet names he'd given her whenever they were in the safety of their dorms.
Baby was definitely her favourite.
His hands slid lower, down her back, and she looked up, resting her chin on his chest and fixing her eyes in his. His gaze softened, still clouded with sleep. "You shouldn't be studying at this hour."
Aelin grunted, smacking her forehead against his chest, "But I have a test tomorrow."
Rowan sighed again, pushing her away and taking the books from her arms. "Precisely why you should be sleeping." He walked towards the common room, speaking softly and hoping Lorcan wouldn't hear them. They both knew their roommate suspected something, but he didn't have enough worries in the world for him to actually give a shit about their possible relationship, and they also knew he would never say anything to anyone. Maybe to Elide, but neither of them would bet on it. "I left you alone tonight because you needed to rest, not stay up until morning melting your brain."
She followed him like a lost dog, dragging her feet on the ground, finally feeling that visceral fatigue get the better of her.
"I can't leave the study half done."
Rowan dropped the books on the table, turning around just in time to block her before she bumped into him again and slipped the pencil out of her mass of hair, letting it fall around her shoulders.
"You're not leaving the study half done," he told her as he rubbed her arms to keep her warm, "you've spent the last five weeks studying this stuff and I'm sure you know it like the abc. You need a break." he told her.
Aelin looked up at him from under her lashes, a little annoyed that that was true, but completely distracted by the lines his fingers were drawing on her arms. She took a deep breath through her nose, puffing out her chest and thrusting out her breasts, catching the attentive gaze of her almost-boyfriend for a nanosecond.
He smiled wearily at her, "Are you sleeping in my bed tonight?"
Aelin just nodded and took both of his hands, pulling him down onto her. Rowan squinted his eyes and placed his lips on hers in a quick, chaste kiss. She hummed in satisfaction as his hands slid under her bottom and wrapped around her thighs, pulling her up. She tied her legs around his hips and rested her head on his shoulder as Rowan made his way into their tiny flat.
He lowered her onto the bed, pulling the blankets out from under her body and laying down beside her before covering them both. Aelin moved as close to him as she could, pressing her back against his chest and her butt against his crotch, tangling their legs together.
Rowan's arm wrapped around her waist as the other slipped under her head and his hand found hers under the pillow.
The second they were settled, every bit of their bodies touching, Rowan left a soft kiss on her shoulder, pulling her even tighter against him.
She smiled weakly, in a drawling tone, "Thank you."
He hummed against her skin, "That's what I'm here for."
"Don't let me die around finals time?" she asked in a teasing tone.
Rowan chuckled softly, making her back shake, "Exactly."
Aelin tried to turn towards him, wanting to trace the pale freckles that were starting to sprout on his nose now that the days were getting longer and the sun kissed his cheek every afternoon, but his arms blocked her.
"No, it's not fair for you to be the big spoon every night. I'm fucking sick of it, I want to hold you today." he muttered, the chains of sleep already dragging him towards that blissful unconsciousness.
She huffed, stopping struggling against his grip, relaxing and feeling her muscles scream with pleasure after being tense for hours on end while she studied.
She hadn't realised she'd stayed up so long, but she was terrified of failing this last exam. If she failed it she would have to wait months before she could retake it and the idea of it was getting her down more than perhaps it should have.
She started thinking about the various questions the professors might ask her the next day, repeating the answers in her mind, closing her eyes as she thought.
"Baby," Rowan grumbled, "you're talking out loud."
She hadn't realised she was biting the cuticles around her nails until his hand came to rest on her arm, pulling her hand away from her mouth. He took a deep breath, helping her turn to face him.
When she looked up at him from under her lashes, she saw the way he was fighting sleep. And she felt terribly guilty. If she was having trouble sleeping the day before an exam, that didn't mean he had to stay awake for her too.
She was about to speak, tell him to close his eyes again and let her go into the living room so she could finish going over the last few pages and then return to his room, but he put his hand on her cheek and in a soft voice asked, "What's bothering you?"
She bit the inside of her cheek, shaking her head, "Nothing."
He tried to hold back a yawn again, but couldn't this time and Aelin's guilt grew immensely inside her. "If you tell me right now what's wrong, I could help you fix it sooner. And we could get at least three hours of sleep before we have to go to class." he pointed out in an exhausted tone.
She blinked once, twice, searching for the right words.
"It's Fen. If he'd stop playing so late every night-"
Rowan quickly cut her off, closing his eyes, almost as if he could no longer physically stay awake. "Ace, Fenrys never really bothered you. You've always managed to study and ignore it. What is it that's bothering you?"
Aelin let go of a shaky breath, "It's nothing, really. We'll talk about it tomorrow."
He only opened one eye, watching her carefully as she hid her face against his chest and wrapped her thin arms around his torso.
His hand began to slowly massage her back, "If we don't talk about this now I'll be up all night worrying."
She huffed, knowing full well how true those words were. For the love of the other, she began to ramble on about the real reason she hadn't been able to focus on the textbooks.
"I don't want to tell anyone we're together yet," she confessed under her breath.
Rowan opened both eyes then, fixing them on her and giving a small nod with his chin to keep her going.
"It's not that I don't want to tell the others," she said, referring to their closest friends, "but the second they find out, the news will become public knowledge and there are some people I really don't want to let that information get to."
He nodded, understanding perfectly who she was talking about.
"We don't have to tell anyone," he kissed her forehead, continuing to talk in that position, his lips brushing against her skin with every word he spoke, "it'll be our little secret for some time more, until we figure out how to get all the puck bunnies off our backs."
Aelin smiled, lifting her chin and kissing him.
Being the captain of the hockey team, Rowan didn't exactly go unnoticed on campus. Not many people approached him during the day, especially when Lorcan was at his side, knowing full well that they would receive nothing but a rude invitation to leave, but their friend couldn't spend his life attached to Rowan's hip, and the few times the two of them had gone out alone it had happened that a horde of fans had overwhelmed them. After those afternoons, Aelin had found herself the victim of not so nice threats from unknown numbers, as had happened to Lysandra when she had first started dating Aedion.
With Manon's help they had managed to track down the senders and Rowan had been unpleasantly surprised to discover that it was one of the girls he always partied with after the games. A girl he'd always considered a friend.
Rowan had taken all the blame, feeling responsible for those attacks on Aelin and it had taken months to convince him that he had no part in the insanity of others.
They'd started limiting the dates they went on as a pair, even when they were just friends, to prevent similar things from happening again, but Aelin felt trapped.
And she knew it was the same for Rowan.
She wished she could get a place off campus, where she could retreat with him, away from the prying eyes of the world, but it didn't seem right to bring up the topic of 'let's move in together' after not even three months of dating.
Rowan rested a hand on her cheek, moving a strand of hair behind her ear, "It'll be fine. And if anyone finds out and the threats come back, we'll do something about it."
She nodded, not entirely convinced and not at all reassured.
He knew instantly, "Aelin, whatever happens, I don't care what others think. I've waited years to finally have you. I've been on the sidelines all this time, watching you go on date after date with everyone and never with me-"
"You never asked," she mumbled in annoyance.
Rowan continued as if she hadn't spoken, "I would have preferred not to be the talk of the town all the time, but I'm not going to let public opinion take away the one good thing in my life."
She opened her mouth wide, "What about hockey?"
He shrugged, looking at her, "Hockey is just a sport."
"If Lorcan could hear you right now..." she shook her head.
"But Lorcan's not here. And you won't tell him," he made her silently promise.
They exchanged another brief kiss, before they carried on talking about all the worries she had and every word that came out of his lips acted as a sedative for her fears, killing one at a time, until she fell asleep in his arms, lulled by his soft breathing on her neck.

❁ LOVESICK
PAIRING: Yandere! Emily Dyer x GN! Reader
CW: Drugs, General Yandere Themes, Manipulation
Tumblr media
It was supposed to be a single visit - one to have your wounds treated - but your reckless curiosity prompted you to make a request that you shouldn't have.
As one of the more adept 'kiters' of the manor, you rarely found yourself getting injured. But at a rather unfortunate time, you let your thoughts get a hold of you, distracting you, and ultimately leading to getting knocked down in a measly thirty seconds. You yelled to your teammates, telling them not to rescue you. Getting to the clinic as soon as possible was your current priority as the blow you took was quite strong, as expected of the Eldritch god Hastur.
And right when you landed at the front doors of the manor, to the clinic you went, your first mistake. To the eyes of you and your fellow survivors, Emily seemed... normal. But behind the mask that let her blend in so well, was a disturbed soul desperately trying to repress the desire to take you away from all the danger you could possibly experience in those games, with those... rodents.
She's watched you. She's always been watching you. The day you entered the manor with such innocence, hopeful that the dear Baron was really by capable of upholding his promise, but unknowing of the trap that you've gotten yourself into. Others would call it... stalking. But that was a rather strong word, was it not? Emily assured herself, saying that she was just looking out for you, that there was nothing wrong with violating your personal space. It's not like you knew. It's not like anyone knew.
Whilst the doctor was handling your wounds, she brought up the painkillers. Yes. That's what they were, right?
"Oh? How'd you get a hold of them?" You tilted your head in curiosity.
Emily was taken aback. She didn't mean to bring it up, it was supposed to be a secret, her secret, but nevertheless, she gave you an answer.
"I- I found them in a closet. Back in the storage room, yes..." She lied, knowing very well that she created it.
You raised your hand up to your chin and looked to the distance, then back at Emily "That's rather strange... somehow. How do you know it works?"
"Well, I tested it out myself, of course. I wouldn't want any of you to fall sick because me, right?" She chuckled, an attempt to conceal yet another lie.
Impulsively, you asked if she could give some to you, your second mistake, and perhaps the true beginning of your end. At your request, some rather intrusive thoughts arose in the doctor's head. It was her chance, a golden opportunity. She'd give you actual painkillers, or even a drug that could possibly temporarily improve your kiting performance. Then, once you've been convinced about the benefits of the drug, she could give you the 'painkillers'. Then you'd-
"Hello?" You waved your hand in front of her, cutting her train of thought.
She blinked. Once.... Twice. Before finally apologizing and agreeing to your request.
Just as she planned, your performance did improve, for now that is. You'd outspeed the hunter at times, and even stun them with so much force that they're left dazed for a bit after recovering. But once you were back to normal, you returned to her, asking for more of those 'painkillers', which seemed to be doing more than pain-killing, which seemed to give you some out of the ordinary abilities. And she provided you with just as you wished, unbeknownst to you that the drug you were constantly taking was the very poison that would bring you much closer to her.
It came to a point where your temporary strength would come with severe drawbacks, as if those painkillers were the source of your current pain. Though, Emily constantly assured you that it wasn't the painkillers, that you were just overworking yourself, that you'd just have to let her do her job, that she, the doctor, knew what she was doing. And you believed her. It's not like you had enough knowledge in the field of medicine to say something for yourself, you had to trust her, right?
But your blind trust, in the end, led to your complete dependence on her, and you were too powerless to escape the deep hole you've placed yourself in.
"I'll... I'll cure you, (name)... I swear I will! So please... won't you stay with me a little longer?" A promise that would forever be unkept.
Kindness alone won't help you survive in this crazy world. Not all patients receive proper care and not all doctors possess a benevolent heart.

QOTS Rewatch - 3x04 - La Fuerza
When we fans wax nostalgic about this show's Phoenix setting, this is the episode where that Phoenix magic begins. In many ways the first three episodes of the season were an interlude (though I would've been happy with a full Malta season if I'm being honest! and THEN Phoenix) and this one is where we really get into the season's plot. We meet the cast of Phoenix characters: Sheriff Mayo and La Comision, specifically Pecas and Taza. We reunite with Kelly Anne, and Tonto and Charger. We learn how Teresa plans to run her business using cryptocurrency and the dark web. AND, last but not least, we're introduced to the setting. The winery with all its twinkly lights, the Phoenix desert, and James's house. Because it's largely an expository episode, it's not as plot-driven as some of the ones to come, but that's what I love about it. It feels quiet, just like the smattering of domestic scenes between Teresa and James.
Tumblr media
Of course, just because it's quiet, doesn't mean things don't happen. Here's a brief recap of the events of the episode:
Teresa, James, and Pote arrive in Phoenix and set themselves up at James's compound.
James sets up a meeting for her with La Comisión, the group of five narcos who "own" Phoenix and all smuggling routes in and out of Arizona. They agree to she can use their routes if she can take out Sheriff Mayo, who basically extorts massive amounts of money from them just because he can.
Teresa's first attempt to take care of him is to have Ivan leak a video of him beating up an undocumented immigrant to a reporter, but Mayo kidnaps the reporter, then intercepts Teresa and James and forces them to watch him kill him. He agrees to let them go if they pay him $20 million. At the predetermined meet-up, James shoots Mayo, leaving him for dead.
Teresa buys the winery and Kelly Anne, under the alias "Priscilla," appears as her real estate agent.
La Comisión agrees to do business with Teresa because, even though they didn't successfully kill Mayo, he's not expected to regain consciousness. But Pecas is acting super suspicious so they suspect he ratted them out to Mayo.
Meanwhile Camila has a nightmare about Teresa, dressed up as La Muerte, killing her, so she decides to send a body double to the traditional Widow's March since she has a premonition she will be killed if she goes.
She meets up with Loya, gives him a tip about where to seize a shipment from Boaz, and pressures him to find Teresa. Then they... inexplicably have sex.
Cortez tells Boaz that Camila is the one to blame for his seized shipment so Boaz sends a sicario to kill her at the Widow's March, which, of course, she is not attending. It was all a set-up she and Cortez orchestrated to get the Colombians to back Camila and get rid of Boaz so she could have the business back.
So much for the episode's plot. Thematically, this episode really focuses on Teresa's desire and intent to conduct her business with moral integrity, and, like last episode, really tests her there. It's also a relationship-building episode. We see Teresa assessing all the people around her and figuring out whether she can trust them or not, in line with the season's central theme of trust vs. deceit.
Last episode, Teresa burned everything she'd built in Malta to rescue a group of women her new business partner had enslaved. This episode, she has to watch as a reporter she'd put in the middle of her scheme to take down Mayo gets murdered by him in cold blood. There's nothing she can do about this in the moment--it's not like she can save the reporter when Mayo's standing there with the machete and she and James are in handcuffs--but it's a tough lesson and it's one she continues to have a hard time internalizing. She always wants to expose the "bad guys" and let their demise come as a result of the natural consequences of their actions. Killing is never what she goes to first. Sometimes this does work (we'll see Mayo's eventual comeuppance at the end of the season) but it's also incredibly risky. And this episode she has to grapple with the fact that the risks aren't always to herself or her familia. The reporter was an innocent bystander.
In 2x12, Teresa appealed to James that she wanted to do things differently, "without all this killing." James came back to her because he wanted her to be right. But the slow tragedy of this season is that, little by little, she is confronted with the reality that even if she wants to do things differently, she is trying to do this in a preexisting landscape that does not operate that way. She burned her relationship with Rocco because of his enslavement of women, but at some point she has to do business with awful people, because the business she's in is full of them.
Which brings me to the issue of trust again. It's all over this episode, from the way Teresa looks skeptically at Tonto and Charger when she arrives at James's compound, to the way she quickly clocks Pecas as slimy and Taza as trustworthy in their first meeting, to her cautious interactions with James all episode. So many viewers get frustrated with her this season for being so slow to trust James, but honestly I understand. I've written about it before so I don't want to over-rotate on it again here, but after the way they parted at the end of season 2 -- her belief (whether true or not) that the tracking device in Tony's gameboy led Camila to her, and the reality that his switching the coke out put her life in danger -- she would be careless not to be cautious with him. Plus, she's actually quite vulnerable to him. Their working relationship is new and still uneasy in its hierarchy, and she's living in his house now and relying on all his connections. She's a self-protective person. But honestly I think her cautiousness is more personal than business. She doesn't actually, at this point, mistrust his intentions, I don't think. But she's aware of the thing in the air between them and that's what she's cautious about. She's cautious with her heart.
And just... awwwww. Teresa. In so many ways she holds all the power in the relationship with James, like she kind of keeps him guessing (not intentionally, just because she reveals so little) and he's made himself emotionally vulnerable to her already by showing up in Malta and asking her to let him in. But the way she dances around him this episode to me shows her softer side, and the way she is sort of trying to get closer but doesn't quite know how. The way she walks in on him in the gym and almost looks flustered but then... talks about business, lol. The way she walks with him through his house, sharing beers, and explains her business model to him but in an almost flirty way. Or the conversation on the balcony where she comes out to talk to him about her plan with the reporter, but stands unnecessarily close and peers up at him so cutely. She's trying. And I love her for it. James though is just like... so confused. Don't worry James, give it till next episode. Which might be weeks in show-time unfortunately 😂
Speaking of next episode: there are so. many. gifsets. of that episode. My general rule has been to reblog every edit I can find from every episode (though I've missed some, especially back in season 1, and I've decided to skip some that are too similar to others), but that rule is definitely going to have to be broken for 3x05. There are over 100 gifsets for that episode. If I reblog them all, we'll be on that episode for weeks. Still not sure exactly how many I'll skip but... get prepared for lots of kisses 😇

before the beginning BEFORE THE BEGINNING
SAE DARLING I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU 💜💜💜💜💜
BEFORE THE BEGINNING — three sentences (or more) about something that happened before the plot of my current project
(You're getting slightly more than three sentences because I have trouble with brevity 😂 And you're getting a little bit from both my active WIPs 😘)
What Makes a Family:
The nausea wasn't going away. Neither was the exhaustion. Sure, the ensuing month since Jimmy had died had been stressful and hectic, full of meetings with lawyers and taking David to counseling and acting appropriately bereaved whenever friends stopped by the flat. But it had been a month—surely she shouldn't still feel like she'd been run over by a train. If she didn't know any better, Rose would have thought she was pregnant...
"Oh, hell," she muttered to herself, digging the heels of her hands into her eyes. No. Surely not. It was impossible. Absolutely impossible for her to be pregnant. It was just the stress, that was all. The stress of grief and being a new single mum. Of course she wasn't pregnant. She would go straight to the pharmacy right now and pick up a test and prove to herself that it was just stress.
An hour later, Rose sat sobbing on the bathroom floor, palms aching and bruised from where they'd made harsh, repeated contact with the edge of the tub in a fit of fury. Beside her was that thin, damning piece of plastic with its impossible little plus sign.
Sacred New Beginnings:
James doesn't quite remember what city he's in. Shit, he doesn't know which country he's in. Has he made it to America, or was that scheduled for next week?
Whatever. It doesn't matter, really. The club is loud, the booze is strong, and the company is entertaining. He's lost in the beat of the bass, the rhythm and cadence of the vocals. He grips his partner's hips, rocking and swaying and grinding far too lewdly for such a public place, but fuck it, this is his only goddamn night off until the end of the month, and he's going to enjoy himself.
"Wanna go somewhere more private?" his partner asks.
His head is foggy and his tongue doesn't feel right in his mouth, but he manages to agree. The man in front of him grabs his hand and pulls him along, stumbling through the sea of hot, writhing bodies until they've found a dark corridor that will serve just fine for what James wants. His partner is more than willing, and soon James is pressed bodily to the wall, his blood thrumming with need and desire made sharper by the alcohol and the absolutely wicked things his partner is doing with his own hips.
A small part of James's brain tells him he'll regret this in the morning, but that small part can sod off, because the papers can't print anything worse than that fucking photoshoot last year. Let them tell their stories. Let them paint this portrait of him.
At least James will have earned it this time.
THANKS FOR PLAYING, LOVE 💜💜

Fruits Basket - Vol 23
It's the final banquet babyyyy
Tumblr media
(i hate how blurry that picture is but my camera just wouldn't fucking focus)(also yeah i colored in the speech bubbles, they were kinda confusing without context and didn't have anything to do with this specific frame)
So everyone's gathered in the main Sohma house, and no one really knows what's going on. They have no idea what to expect. Hiro notes that the grown-ups are "the ones who can't sit still today". Some miscellaneous stuff happens but I'm not sure if it's worth talking about? After the miscellaneous stuff, it is announced that Akito is ready for everyone to see, and out she steps in a kimono (I bet it's red; she'd look great in red, I think) and asks where Shigure is, because he apparently dipped out. Ritsu is in complete awe, does Akito partake in the same hobby he does? No, Ritsu, this is who she is.
There's a brief flashback to the previous book, where Shigure gave her something, and said "I guess you could call it a farewell present." Akito did not take kindly to that at all, and lashed out, accusing him of being the first to abandon her. He asks where she got that idea, he meant that she's finally becoming her own person, rather than the person her father wanted her to be, and his gift was something to commemorate that. Welcome in the new Akito, and all that.
Back to the present, Akito explains that the rest of the Juunishi were able to become their true selves, beyond the curse, and so she decided to as well. She tries to apologize, but she can't-- she knows that won't make up for anything that she did, at all.
It goes back to that memory with Shigure (this chapter is just a series of flashbacks and flashpresents) and he teases her, saying that he didn't know he was so important to her, and Akito insists that wasn't the case, that he was the one that she was most afraid of, the one that strayed the furtherest from her, bond or not. He says he had to keep his cool, be nonchalant, because otherwise he'd explode (ka-blooey). He says that he's childish, and doesn't like getting hurt, he hates losing, and he can't stand sharing things. This causes Akito to basically go Ó///Ò in realization, and he confirms that realization (the realization being that he likes her as well, in case you didn't catch it. It kinda took me a second on first reading, and I'm not exactly explaining this the best), and says that if Akito wants to reject him, now's the time, that if she comes to him again, it'll become a Thing. They'll become a Thing.
Back to the meeting, Akito says that she still wants to live with the Sohma family, because there are still things she feels she needs to do. She still is, at the end of the day, the head of the family, it's her duty (probably). She plans on talking to Ren, which I imagine will go well. After the meeting (I think, I don't think it's before, though timey wimey stuff is difficult), Akito is with Shigure, and he's asking if she wants him to stay at the main Sohma house, and she asks if he's angry about it. The vibe I get from him is "yesn't", honestly, but hey if they're happy, I guess it's fine.
Next chapter!
So there are two exposition characters (I'm sorry but that's really all they are) at school, and one of them sees Kyo. She gets excited, maybe she can go talk to him, and the other thinks he's waiting for Tohru, his girlfriend, to finish up with her tests. The first girl goes, "Whaaa?? When did that happen??", and the second says that it happened shortly after Tohru came back from the hospital. The first girl's hopes and dreams are apparently destroyed, I guess she liked Kyo.
It pans back to Tohru, now finished with her test, and the teacher, Mayu, wishing her a good summer vacation, it'll be her last. She also asks if something happened in the Sohma family, because a certain He seemed a little happier when she saw him yesterday. Tohru took "he" to mean Kyo and Yuki, and was basically like "yeah I guess so". Mayu played it off, yeah yeah those two that's definitely who she meant yeah totally see you next school term byeeee.
At the house (Shigure's house), Kyo, Yuki, and Tohru are talking about the meeting, and how it felt like it came out of nowhere. They were surprised that Tohru already knew about Akito, but she had to pretend she didn't for Akito's privacy (you don't just out people, that's rude). She asks if it was that much of a shock, and Yuki says he's mostly dumbfounded, though there has been a lot going on lately, a lot to think about. Kyo says he feels weird about it, simply because now he knows he's been violent with a woman all this time, but also says something about if Akito was a man, Kyo would be in trouble if there was another guy who liked Tohru. I'm not really sure where he got that idea, but Yuki thought it was pretty funny. It made Tohru realize that the air between Kyo and Yuki had cooled off significantly, and they seemed to be more at ease with each other than they ever had before (i mean in the beginning yuki would sneeze and kyo would be like "and i took that personally", so yeah they've changed a lot). She asked Kyo what had caused that change, and he told her that Yuki beat the crap out of him, and knocked some screws loose, but it was okay. They needed to be loosened.
Later, it seems that Kyo and Tohru went to Kazuma's house, where Kazuma said "I have no regrets. At this point, I'm prepared for death at any time.", because he's happy, y'know? But Tohru and (that other guy whose name completely escapes me wtf) protest at that, saying that you can't say things like that, it's not true! The other whispers to Kazuma that he can't die yet, because when they get married and have kids, he'll be a grandparent, which he seems to like the idea of. He tells Tohru that he eagerly awaits that time, but since Tohru didn't overhear it, she just awkwardly agrees that she also can't wait. (Kyo kinda caught on though)
Izusu comes in, says, "This is stupid, by the way", then walks out before anyone can respond. Tohru follows after her, and Kyo asks what Izusu was saying. Kazuma says that a lot has happened recently, and not everyone is going through the same thing.
Going with Tohru, she finds Izusu in another room, saying that she doesn't get it, how can he (Kyo, presumably) act like nothing's wrong, after all that's happened, and how Tohru can do the same, after she got so hurt?! Those kinds of hurt don't go away easily. Izusu continues, and says that if she had to choose to forgive Akito or not, she wouldn't, because she can't. She doesn't want Akito to apologize, and she can't help but feel like she's doing something wrong, because she can't make herself accept everything and move on. Tohru reassures her that there's nothing wrong with her, she didn't do anything wrong. Izusu wonders if her demeanor will turn Haru away, if it will disappoint him. Tohru says that there's no way that Haru could hate her.
The scene changes to Akito, who is talking to that one old lady who pops up every now and then, but I've never seen her name, who says that Akito went to see Ren again, but heard that she wasn't able to really talk to her. She says it would be faster to chase her out of the house, but it's also possible that Akito complicated things by staying at the house. She continues, saying how it must be nice being young, and being able to change your life so easily. She notes that she was born with the Sohma family, and raised with them, and has lived at the house for sixty years, she couldn't change her life now. Akito says that no one can change every thing, and no one would be asking her to. Maybe all she needs is a helping hand. In the end, the maid simply walks away, but y'know, not everyone wants to change, or feels like they can, it's fine.
In the next chapter, it seems like it's the date with Tohru and Kyo that Uotani and Hanajima decided to tag along with. Kyo is thinking back to that moment when he tore off his bracelet, and how afterward, Tohru picked up all the beads. She put them in a little bowl in her room, next to the picture of her mom. In the moment, he could only watch as she did it, and in all honesty he wouldn't have minded if she had tossed them into a fire, but it also occurred to him that he might regret not having them. As he watched Tohru pick up the beads, he thought of it like she was "protecting both the me of now and the me of the future". Alternatively, and this one is a bit spoopy, she was gathering the memories of the people over the (many, many, many) years that had worn that bracelet. Either way, he realized that loving someone isn't just about loving the person as they currently are, but as they were, and as they will be.
That's what he thinks anyway.
I mentioned the date but I didn't talk about it at all. They went to a zoo, Uotani got excited about seeing elephants, and they went to a place with cats, and the cats did not care either way about Kyo. It was neat. By the end of the day, Tohru went off to use the bathroom, leaving Kyo with Hanajima and Uotani. This is when Hanajima asks Kyo if he's going to take Tohru away with him. She knew the time would come, eventually, when she, Uotani, and Tohru, would part ways, but it still hurts to think about. Uotani says that, despite how they might act, they do like Kyo, even if they think he's a bit of a dumbass (Uotani's words, btw), and it's because they both think he's a good guy. He just has to take care of Tohru, because she's like family to them, so he'd best not fuck up.
When Tohru comes back, Kyo says there's a place that he wants to take Tohru before going home. Can we go see what Yuki's up to first? Okay yeah we're going to do that now, we'll get back to Tohru and Kyo, don't worry.
So Yuki's at Kakeru's place, and it seems that they're talking about their college plans. Apparently Yuki's going to a college pretty far away from where they're currently at, but if they have subjects that he's interested in, it's fine. (I don't think it's ever said what exactly those subjects are. Like, what's his major? Do I really care? Eh. But it's still nice to know. Same thing for Kakeru, what is he doing?) When Yuki says he'll be living on his own, Kakeru asks if he can manage, he doesn't want to go for a visit and see an emaciated Yuki (living on like,, partially-cooked instant ramen noodles, and several scattered half-empty water bottles in a nest of laundry and schoolwork). Yuki is more optimistic, saying he's going to learn by doing (so that means those cups of instant ramen will be completely cooked). Apparently he told Machi about it and she's fine with it, though she would not be fine if she heard Kakeru saying that anyone is "climbing the stairway to adulthood" which honestly I wouldn't be fine with that either, that just sounds stupid.
Komaki asks how Yuki's going to get the money to live somewhere, and Yuki says that he considered asking his parents, but in the end he asked Ayame to help. Ayame was overjoyed to help, and went nuts to find a place that would suit Yuki's needs (Or be the foundation of his "empire", as he phrased it).
When asked about college, Kakeru said he'd go, not because he really wants to, but mostly because people keep telling him to. He was planning on taking over Komaki's family business (they run a laundry service), but he supposes he'll go anyway.
Later, Machi shows up with a package of meat, which Komaki was very excited about. Kakeru trotted out his "stairway to adulthood" line on Machi, and Machi punched him in the face along with the meat, she somehow balanced the meat on her fist to smash into Kakeru's face, much to Komaki's distress (over the meat, not Kakeru).
Anyway, let's go back to Tohru and Kyo.
Kyo took Tohru to the graveyard, and they're standing at the Honda's family tombstone(memorial? thingie? idk), and he says that after he graduates, he wants to leave, because he's spent his whole life up until pretty recently avoiding life, and not letting himself get involved in things. But now that he's a normal person, he wants to live in the world as a normal person, with Tohru, and because of all of this, he wants to go outside of this place that he's been his whole life. Tohru asks where he's planning to go, and he says that Kazuma knows someone with a dojo, but it's really far from where they presently live. He says he's planning on going there first, attending the dojo while he works, and then one day, he'll inherit Kazuma's dojo, using the experience from the first dojo. He hesitates on asking Tohru to break away from everything and everyone she's known to go off with him, but Tohru agrees, and says she wants to go with him, as soon as possible.
There is one thing that Tohru wants to tell Kyo, and it's that she's sure that her mom never hated him. Even if she did say that she would never forgive him, Tohru is confident that she didn't say it out of hate, she knows it. She will go along with Kyo, even if it hurts to leave everyone else, because it would hurt her more to be apart from him (🥺). To end this section, Kyo says that he'll keep the promise he made to Kyoko about Tohru, all that while back, and he'll keep it for his whole life.
(don't mind me i'm just screeching and wheezing simultaneously this shit is too much i'm gonna die)
Onto the next section, it actually has to do with Kyoko and Katsuya. Mostly Kyoko, and her last thoughts before she died. At first, it was weird. What's going on? She can't hear anything, she doesn't even really hurt. Why is it so dark? Oh crap, Tohru! She can't leave yet, she doesn't want to leave Tohru alone, she only just got into high school. She hopes that she loved her enough, and that Tohru knew that, though she wished she could have had more time to love Tohru. She finally understands, though, that leaving people behind and being left behind, they're both so hard. She hopes that someone can be there for Tohru, to protect her, stay with her as she cries.
She then sees Kyo, and recognizes him as the little orange-haired kiddo she used to talk to sometimes, and hopes that even if he forgets about her, that the next time Tohru gets lost, Kyoko wants him to find her, even just once. If he doesn't do that, she'll never forgive him(that's what she meant, out of what he heard, by the way). She hopes that he can somehow take her place, and protect Tohru, and let her be happy, let her be loved by lots of people. Even if she gets lost or makes a mistake, Kyoko wants Tohru to be proud of the life she lived.
Then she wakes up in a place. I don't really know what the place looks like, but I imagine it as a light blue shimmery place, and she can see someone walking towards her, from a distance. Katsuya. Suddenly she's young again, with her long hair and uniform, and she can be with the man she loves again. (🥺😭 dissolves in my tears)
There's a time skip, now Tohru, Yuki, Kyo, Hanajima, and Uotani have graduated, and it soon after shows Tohru and Kyo cleaning up their rooms, and reminiscing about when Tohru first arrived. A lot has changed in that time, it's incredible. Tohru thinks on how she will miss everyone, and all the things that have happened (in the span of a year, right? This all mostly happened within a year or two?). Kyo then says that everyone loves and appreciates her, and it's not like she'll never see any of them again, it's just the start of something new. Then Tohru's stomach grumbles and she gets embarrassed (oh no im hungry how embarrassing 😖)
We then jump to Yuki and Machi, and Yuki gives Machi a key to his new place, because he doesn't want her to think that he's cheating on her (why would she think that???) and then nearly fuckin yeets it out the window when she says that she's not worried that he'd do that. (So he does want her to have trust issues? Yuki, dude, you're confusing me on this) I think that Machi is a year behind Yuki, so she won't be starting college the same time as he will, but she promises that she'll follow after him and be back with him as soon as she can, which is very sweet.
This whole section is mostly jumping from one group of people to the next, so I think I'll try to summarize:
Ritsu and Kagura are talking, it seems that Ritsu is giving Kagura his old kimonos. He's cut his hair shorter, and he mentions how Shigure apparently has quit being an author, much to the relief of his editor, Mitsuru. Kagura asks if Ritsu is going to marry Mitsuru, which leaves him very flustered. Kagura still is hung up on Kyo, and says that she'll see Kyo and Tohru go just to see Kyo. She won't well wish them, because she knows that they'll be happy regardless.
Hiro and Kisa are walking past Shigure's old house, speculating on what is going to happen to it. Hiro says he thinks it will stay as it is for a while, which makes Kisa happy. She hopes that it can stay up and that a new household can live in it. She then starts crying, thinking about Kyo and Tohru leaving, but she says that she will smile when she sees them go, on the next day. Hiro tells her to not be upset over crying, that she can cry as much as she wants, because he knows how much Tohru means to Kisa.
Haru, Izusu, and Momiji are talking, and Haru mentions how Hatori said that eventually, Shigure's gonna get punched in the face, but he never did. Momiji says that it didn't happen because they are all more mature than Shigure. He says as an aside that he doesn't think it should be allowed that Kyo is "taking away" Tohru, because he's being selfish, and that he wants to pinch Kyo. Haru asks why he shouldn't do it tomorrow, and Momiji says that he can't do it in front of Tohru, but this whole thing has given Momiji a new sense of motivation, to find the best girlfriend in the world, and then he'll show her off to Kyo (not the best motivation to find a partner but okay). Izusu pops up by saying that she thinks Tohru should break up with Kyo. I'm not sure why though.
It's shown that Hanajima is working at Kazuma's place as a cook, which is something that Kyo was not pleased to find out, but despite his best efforts, The Guy Who is Also There at the Dojo Whose Name I Cannot Remember can't figure out how to get her to leave. Kazuma says that he will miss Kyo, but he won't worry about him. He's in good hands now.
Uotani is on the phone with Kureno, saying that she'll send his regards to Tohru and Kyo. She also says that she will miss Tohru, but she's also excited for her, for the both of them. She asks if the cherry blossoms are blooming yet, and that she'll have to make her way out to see them (and Kureno) soon.
Ayame and Mine are sending well wishes gifts in the form of big flouncy dresses, for Tohru (who I imagine would be flattered but I doubt she would wear them). Mine says that now that the time has come, she finds this sensation of "children leaving the nest" to be lonely, and Ayame agrees, and says that's exactly why adults put obnoxious amounts of love into cardboard boxes with instant ramen, socks, maid outfits, what have you. (They then say that they're going to send similarly flouncy dresses to Yuki, who I doubt will respond kindly)
Mayu and Hatori are on a date, and he offers to take her with him on a summer vacation to Okinawa. He says he's never been on a "decent" vacation, and that he wants to see the country. Mayu starts cracking up at the idea of Hatori in a swimsuit, then sobers quickly at the idea of herself in one, saying that her figure isn't ideal for a swimsuit (from the way she talked about herself I think she'd be all the rage in early 2000's Western fashion).
Akito says that she's not going to see Tohru and Kyo leave, saying that if she wants to visit Tohru, she'll go and see her, but I imagine it's also for the sake of everyone else that would be there.
Finally, we end with Yuki going to talk to Tohru. He tells her that he's happy about all that has happened, and that he's glad that he has gotten to this point. He says that he was weak, that he couldn't handle being around people, but he wanted to be loved, and be needed. All he ever did, he says, is want. But during that crucial time, Tohru appeared, and fulfilled that wish without even trying. He learned so much from her, and she gave him what he needed, and that's how he is able to be the person he presently is. And he also finally says that she was basically his mother, in a way. He wonders if she was like that to everyone, with how warm, welcome, and gentle she is to everyone she meets. He goes on to say that in this time, when everyone is parting ways, everyone is thinking of Tohru, wondering if she's happy, if she's crying, if she's doing well. Finally, he thanks her, and says that he's so glad that he got to meet her, and that she was there for him, and for all of them. (He also actually says her name, which he's never done, I don't think. It's always been "Honda-san", but never "Tohru", but now he's said it. There's really not an English version of that, as far as I'm aware, but from what I know, it is a pretty significant thing.)
There's a little bit of an epilogue, showing a child walking into a house, asking where Tohru and Kyo are. A woman replies saying, "That's Grandma and Grandpa to you!", but the child pouts and says that Grandma said she could call her by her name, and that they left her behind again on their walk. The woman tells her to not get in the way of their "lovey-dovey alone time", and there's a final establishing shot of Tohru and Kyo walking together, holding hands, with Kyoko's words: "Repeat the good, and the bad. Do it all, and pile on the years."
And that's the end!
I think I'm heartless, because I didn't cry at the end. I wanted to, but I didn't. Overall, I really liked this series! It was a lot of fun to read, a lot of shit goes down, it was a rollercoaster. Thinking back on how the story started, knowing some of the events that occurred before the story started, it all kinda leaves a bitter taste in my mouth (mainly the teasing that Kyo gets about him "training in the mountains", and knowing what was actually going on, it's kinda hard to laugh now 😬). One thing that I was kinda expecting the story to mention, but never did, was Izusu's mark on her back. It looks like some kinda of scar, but I never saw anything addressing it. Now that I think about it, it could have been from a number of things, but it was never said explicitly, which I think is weird. I think I'm gonna leave it here (I'm typing this last portion on my phone at 3:45am so it could be better).

Meg's Game of Tales: Tale 14
Tumblr media
*Familiar Characters are NOT mine! The original story of "Fowler's Fowl" was written by The Brothers Grimm."
Warnings: Fowler's Fowl AU, violence, blood, death, angst?? No real happiness here folks. Also another unintentional non-reader insert.*
Character: Margaery Tyrell
Margaery sat in the parlor, listening to her father and grandmother talking. She couldn't deny that she was bored. When she had conversations with her grandmother, just the two of them, Margaery felt she had someone to talk to that matched her intelligence. Otherwise, the young woman simply remained quiet unless something needed to be said. She didn't know that her boredom would soon be relieved in the most interesting and…dangerous way.
When the knock echoed through the manor, Margaery made her way to the window. Standing outside was an older man carrying a large basket on his back, presumably with all the food and clothing generous people gave him. Margaery watched as one of the maids handed him a loaf of bread. As soon as the maid's fingers brushed against the old man's, a glazed look came over her. Margaery's brows furrowed as the maid climbed in the basket and the man turned away, heading back up the road.
"Father," Margaery started, but stopped when she realized her father wasn't listening to her and her grandmother had chosen that time to leave the room. Margaery sighed, but decided not to say anything. The maid had left of her own will it seemed. So, Margaery went back to her business.
Two days later, there was another knock at the door. Margaery didn't see who it was, but another maid was soon discovered missing. When Margaery questioned the other household servants, they told her an old man came to the door and the maid must have left with him. It was then that Margaery began to formulate a plan.
Margaery was a brilliant young woman, everyone in the manor knew it. And when she set her mind on something, she NEVER gave up until she succeeded. So when her curiosity and suspicion was piqued, Margaery knew she had to figure out what had happened to those maids. She quickly formed a plan because in her heart she just knew that the old man would be returning.
Sure enough, after the passing of another two days, there was another knock at the door. Margaery practically ran to the door, stopping the maid from answering it. Margaery took the food from the maid and opened the door herself. "Good morning," she greeted with a smile. The old man looked surprised, but smiled in return. "Good morning. Perhaps you have a bit of food to spare an old beggar?" Margaery handed in a basket of apples, his fingers brushing hers just a little bit.
Suddenly, Margaery felt light-headed, like everything around her was fuzzy. Everything except the old man. Only now, when she looked at him, she didn't see an old man. She saw a handsome young man. There was a dangerous glint in his eyes that drew Margaery in. His voice sounded muffled, like Margaery was underwater. "Would you like to come with me?" Without even realizing it, Margaery nodded. The person…probably a mage, smiled. "Good. Climb in my basket, why don't you?" Margaery's feet moved with a mind of their own as she climbed in the basket.
The fog didn't lift as Margaery rode in the basket. It didn't lift as the mage stopped and set the basket down. Margaery climbed out and realized she was in a castle. She turned to her captor and they smiled. "I have to return to town for real food and you have free reign of the castle. Explore. Get to know the place. While I'm gone, I'd like for you to take care of this egg. Here are the keys. You are welcome to explore any room except that one." He pointed to a door and Margaery nodded.
As soon as he was out of sight, Margaery's fog began to lift a little allowing her to think clearly. She hid the egg in a safe place, knowing that getting it dirty or dropping it was some kind of test she could not fail. As soon as she'd done that, she headed for the forbidden room.
Margaery nearly screamed as she opened the door. Blood. Blood everywhere. A huge vat of it sat in the middle of the room. Floating inside, she could make out the heads and bodies of her two maids. She could almost feel the magic radiating through the room and knew she had to get started quickly. After getting another dress to protect her clothing, she fished the maids out of the blood and, just like she thought, the leftover magic in the room caused her maids bodies to return to normal and life to enter them once more.
The two maids began thanking her profusely, explaining that they had dropped the egg in the blood and he'd killed them. "Never you mind. I'm going to find a way to get you out of here. I just need you to trust me and stay here a little while longer." They nodded and Margaery left the room again to clean herself up and wait for the mage to return.
When he did return, the mage asked for the egg. Margaery produced it from the pocket of her dress. He inspected it and smiled when he saw no imperfections on the shell. "Very good. You have passed the test. You are the first to do so and so I shall make you my bride. Margaery fought the urge to vomit at the thought of being married to this man. Still, as soon as he'd said it, Margaery could feel the fog lifting completely from her brain and she realized she had a way to get her maids out.
"Very well, but before we wed, I need you to return to my father's house with a basket full of gold and bring him back here. He must attend the wedding. You must not stop. I will be watching from my window in the tower. If you stop, I will not marry you." The mage considered for a moment before nodding. Margaery smiled as he left her to her own devices while he rested for the journey ahead.
While the mage slept, Margaery set her plan in motion. She had her maids climb into the basket, then covered them with gold. She made certain there was enough air coming through the holes in the basket that they could breathe. Then, she found a skull in the bloody room, decorated it with jewels, and placed it the tower. After the mage left, she would put it in the window so he would see it and think it was her. She also took time to sew some leaves and things on a dress she'd found. She didn't want to ask where it'd came from.
When the mage left a few hours later, she reminded him not to stop for anything. With difficulty, he hoisted the basket onto his bag and started out. Margaery let him get a little bit away before she placed the skull in the window, changed into the leaf covered dress, and snuck out after him. She followed behind, hidden by shadows.
Whenever the mage would stop, the maids would begin crying out from inside the basket for him to get moving again. Each time, he would force himself to move again. All the while, Margaery followed, her dress helping her blend into her surroundings so he would not see her.
By the time they all reached the manor, the mage was exhausted. He was too weak to move. He fell to his knees on the ground outside the manor. The two maids took the opportunity to burst from the basket. They ran into the manor, crying for Margaery's father and brothers. Margaery snuck in through the kitchens and explained everything.
The mage was still on the ground outside the manor when Margaery's father came barreling out of the house as quickly as he could. He wasted no time beheading the vile man. "His tower should be burned as well, Father! So that no other may attempt his foul tricks," Margaery said. Mace agreed and ordered Loras to follow him.
As Margaery stared down at the lifeless body of the mage. She smiled to herself. She had outwitted him. No one else would ever underestimate her. For she, Margaery Tyrell, had rid the world of cruel, foul man with just her wits. She was one of the most powerful women in the world and she had proven it. One day, she would rise above them all and rule the world.
(*- the only place I could have put the reader was in the place of the mage and I couldn't write you guys like that. Anyway, we've only got more Tales!)

Luke patterson x oc
Tumblr media
January 1995
Sabrina came home from school and was on her way to the garage where her favourite human beings have rehearsal before playing at the club the next day. The chords of 'now or never' blasting all the way to the front street. Jumping from her board she ran up the driveway, stopping at the door to catch her breath.
She threw the doors opened as she stepped in.
"Welcome stranger" Luke laid his free arm around her shoulders pulling her in the middle of the room.
"I don't want to push your ego but you're guys becoming better everyday," she pushed Luke's arm away when Alex glanced at them. Sending him an apologetic look.
"Thank you Brie" Reggie sending her a warm smile.
"Just the truth Reg" mirroring his smile she walked over to the couch and sat down. "What songs are you playing tomorrow?" She lay down her hands resting on her stomach. She twisted the ring Luke gifted her last year.
"Now and never is an essential. And then we will see, how's the public, their vibes and so," Bobby explains. Sabrina wasn't a fan of the fourth member to the fact that he's trying to steal Luke the show always ripping his lyrics saying negative words about them and his said words aren't any help either.
"Now or never is a hit boys I really like it"
"You just say that because you're my sister," Alex insisted.
"That's bullshit," she retorted.
"But just try 'Welcome home,'" Sabrina suggests.
"But there's a piano part," Luke remarked.
"Don't mind me sitting down here," Sabrina points to the keyboard and sat behind it.
She began to play the beginning chords as Alex softly hit on his drum.
Feeling high always chasing the light.
Calming down when everything's loud.
Adrenaline rushing through my body,
My heart beats for moment like these.
Luke plucks his guitar farster, the drums getting louder and the boys began to scream.
In the dark
We're jamming from our hearts
No regrets
Blood rushing through my head
Welcome home
Always grateful for you
The cheers
Echoing through my head
The keyboard was facing the band giving Sabrina the chance to study their emotions. Luke's eyes always laying on her even as he's walking between the other two guitarist.
Hours to go but always thinking 'bout you
Seeing you in the crowd
Brings ache to my heart.
But this band's like homeee.
Sabrina sung quietly in background every word of the lyric when her favorite passage was to come.
Some chase the fame and lose themselves
But with you I'm being grounded
Flying high and blasting through the sky
Would never feel the same without you
Their eyes glaring at her when she was the only one singing this phrase, the boys astonished by her voice froze in tracks. Her eyes narrowed to keep on playing their instruments.
Seconds later the music started again.
Welcome home
Always grateful for you
The cheers
Echoing through my heart
Welcome home
Always grateful for you
The cheers
Echoing through my heart
The chords slowly dying as Alex hit his ride a last time.
"This was spectacular" he jumped in front of his drums.
"This is.. Will you have to join the band" his hands now resting on her upper arms, shaking Sabrina lightly.
Shaking her head she just laughed. "You know I wouldn't, Lexi" she began to thickle his abdomen as he removes his hands.
Reggie agrees to Alex nodding his head steady.
"Think about it Brina" Luke spoke smirking.
"I'll think about it" the corner of his mouth turned up. He stretched his hand in front of her as she grabbed it he squeezed it slightly.
He dragged her closer by shoving his arm to his body, he leans down to her and whispers. "You smell nice today" her cheeks turning red as turned away to cover her up. Alex observes it critical.
"I've got to go. Don't stay up too late," she calls after the group. She waves to the boys when she walked out of the door Luke hold open.
Skateboarding down the main street the sky a mild orange and yellow as the sun; already dotted with stars. Sabrina was almost in her friend's street as a jolt threw her down her board she even flew a few yards; hitting the ground with a loud thud and sliding a bit more. Her skin now cluttered with abrasions on her left side. She pressed on her upper arm trying to stop the blood
The blonde girl lay on the cold pavement surrounded by tourists and pedestrians. Eyes glaring on her staring at her wounds, some chatters whereas she couldn't understand it.
In the distance she heard sirens over her loud sobbing; a wave of relief and hope floating through her tired body.
She was lifted into the ambulance and they start to drive to the hospital.
At the arrival of the car they rushed to the emergencyroom. Shifting her into a bed before taking her to the tests.
The first nurse pushing a needled for the IV into her hand when she saw her naked hand sadness overcame her.
"The..the ring" she stutters.
"There was no ring" the paramedic explained dry and shrugged his shoulders. She lost her consciousness right after.
A steady beeping was the only noise in the room. Her body covered with wires plugged into machines for her vitals. A nurse entered as she saw Sabrina opens her eyes.
"Hello dear. Great to see you. So what's your name?" she sat down next to the bed.
"Brie" she struggles to breath.
"Slow. Take your time," the nurse soothed. Sabrina's hand slightly shakes as she tries to imply. "You wanna write?" The blonde just nodded.
Writing has always helped me.
"There you go"she handed her paper and a pen.
Sabrina Willow Mercer. It wasn't her best writing but readable.
"Got this." The nurse grabbed the paper and left.
She left her three empty papers, so she began to write with all the power she has left.
Minutes later the woman came back reassuring she reached someone at home. A single tear escape her eyes as she quietly sobs. What if this are here last breaths and no one of her family was here she'd do everything to hear their voices one last time. She remembers the rehearsal hours ago.
"Your mom said she is on her way after calling your dad and collecting your brother." Laying her hand on Sabrina's arm her thumb rubbing an unscathed spot. The girl in the bed mouthed a 'thanks'.
What felt like hours of waiting her mother and the blonde boy ran into her room.
"Baby" her mom threw her body down next to the bed grabbing her hand.
"Will" Alex stumbled towards the bed reddish eyes staring at her.
"She's going to be alright, right?" He turned to the nurse.
"That's not mine remit sir" she left.
Alex softly moving next to her in the bed. "We'll make it. We always do" he pressed a kiss on her temple pulling her into his side.
Their mother started whimpering remembering what the nurse told on the phone. She gave Brian's hand a small kiss holding it near to her heart. Alex was this situation suspicious. He sniffed her scent in; the ocean breeze.
"Lex.." Sabrina's voice broke halfway.
"Psst. Let me hold you" he pressed her tighter into his side.
The girl hold the letters over to him. "When I... when I die.." the siblings whimpered in sync.
"These are for you, mom and dad and Luke" his name gave him a flashback to Luke's reaction as Alex rushed out of the garage running towards their car and leaving without a word. Luke didn't moved since then.
"Call him" she pointed towards the door giving him a resuring smile.
Minutes past when Alex walked back in. "He's coming" he took his spot again laying his arm around her shoulder.
"You sure about this?" He raised the letters and she nodded.
The shaggy haired boy arrived as Sabrina was sleeping in Alex arms. "She's alright right?" He questioned and the blonde boy shakes his head much to his dislike.
"I talked to the doctor they gave her maximally a week" his thumb brushes the tears away. "If they find a donor.." he sobbed thinking about a life without this sunshine.
"That's not true. It can't. She's so young" Luke's body fell into the chair. The Mercer mom left an hour ago.
Luke intertwined their fingers bringing her hand up to his forehead. He felt a light pressure on his hand and looked up at Sabrina. A small smile on her lips. "Hey gorgeous" he didn't cared if Alex was still with them.
"You're going to be alright. We'll find a way Brina," Luke whispers, his voice shaking.
The next day Sabrina woke up to two boys sleeping with their heads on her bed, quiet snorts escaping their mouths.
She wanted to let them sleep they need it. Flashbacks from last night crashing onto her.
The boys refused to play tonight but she insisted that's their chance, there always managers who could sign them.
'Just let it go',
'we're not leaving you here, alone.'
'don't let this chance die because of me' she retorted. As she mentions the word 'die' the time stand still, the air around them getting cold, their eyes not daring to look at her.
"Morning Will" Alex greets, his voice just above a whisper; his hand sliding through his hair trying to smooth it.
"Hey" she tried to smile.
"How are you feeling?"
"Greatest I've ever been" she sarcastically said, rolling her eyes.
The siblings laughed the first time since the whole accident. Luke awoke to them laughing and his muscles eased a bit. Seeing them relieved, laughing, this gives him hope, hope she'll survive this.
"Morning there sweetie" Alex says towards Luke who rubbed his eyes in the process of waking up.
"Morning" he yawns and stretched his arms up.
"I'm getting breakfast any wishes?" Alex stands up and began to sneak to the door.
"Pancakes" his sister calls after him.
"We're not in a hotel" he shakes his head in disbelief. The three of them erupting in laughter.
"A coffee, please" Luke adds.
Alex was out the door so Luke took the chance to climb up into the bed. His arm resting around her shoulders. Her head resting on his shoulder and his head on hers.
"I can't do this tonight without you, Brina." his voice a shaking whisper.
"Of course you'll rock this, all of you. Do it for me P." Sabrina turned on her side and rested her head in his chest, hearing his heartbeat calmed her. His right hand plays with a strand of her wavy hair. Unfortunately one of his rings gets tangled in it.
"Ouh" exclaimed the girl reaching for his hand and slowly puts his hand in front of her face. Thank God her hair is long that this is possible.
"Keep still" Sabrina points out.
She took the ring off of his finger and entangled it from her hair. Luke watching her moves closely. She let out a small chuckle.
"Where's your ring" he grabs her hand finding the naked spot around her index.
"I've must lost it. The paramedic said he hasn't found anything" the corners of her mouth dropping down, she sighed.
"No problem. I'll find it" Alex enters the room again with their drinks in his hands and a chocolate chip muffin. He reached the bed and hand them their orders.
"Can I have a bite" she made puppy eyes which always convinced him.
"Fine" he exhales holding it in front of her. Taking a large bite she smile without teeth; making kissing sounds to thank him.
The boys left around lunch due to her following tests but Alex dropped in minutes after she was pushed out of her room bringing her journal and her pencil case. Arriving back and seeing the utensils she smiled and began to write down her thoughts, forming poems and wisdoms.
Sabrina's view laid on the clock at it hit 7pm which means their show begins right now, she wishes to be there seeing them relieved and freed, dancing over the stage having fun with each other.
"Hello guys we're sunset curve" Luke was interrupted by Reggie's 'tell your friends'
"We want to dedicate this night for a special one who couldn't be here today" his mood darken slightly.
They began to play the chorus to 'now or never' and the people radiate the same energy as the band. The crowed danced to the words the band sings.
The song came to an end and Luke exchanged glances with the other guys, nodding their heads they were ready to jam 'Welcome home'.
Mid song Luke stopped singing and stared into the void. He lost his focus, frozen without her; that's when it hits him like a train it wasn't just a silly crush, he loves her.
Tears began to build in his eyes as he tried to focus back on the music.
When the last chords were played he ran out of the bar and to the place Sabrina told him she had the accident.
Earlier the day he didn't find the ring, the probability to find it now is zero but he didn't would give up until he held it in his hand.
Luke arrived to a jumbled room, nurses running in and out same as doctors. Loud chattering and beeping of machines. He rushed into her room, Alex already sat by her side. He grabbed her other hand holding it and squeezing it constantly. Sabrina tried to sat up, her hands trying to escape their grip. They all lean in closer, heads now in the middle of the bed.
"Just look up the sky. I'm the brightest star guiding the way. Watching you. Always by your side" her hands resting on each of the cheeks from Luke and Alex. Luke takes her hand and puts the ring back on her index, she slowly proceeded the gesture and it takes all her power to sent him a heartwarming smile but it didn't reached her eyes too tired.
"I love you" Sabrina's hands falling lifeless onto the bed. The machines now with a monotonous sound and a flat line. Tears streaming down their checks. Holding her hand not able to proceed that’s she’s gone, forever
