When you first start skateboarding

Author note : Hi ! Sorry this is really small and rushed, i wanted to begin and try to post in this fandom with something simple, like i did for bsd, i hope this is enjoyable anyways ★

Reki ! ★

When you first start skateboarding, reki is really excited and motivated to help you learn, he'll be patient and will keep you motivated, giving you a lot of tips and making sure you're okay on the run.

Chances are, he's the one who's gotten you into skateboarding, or he kept harassing you to try it out, both are very possible.

Reki will make sure to congratulate you on every small steps of the way, if you don't feel confident or scared, reki will reassure you that it's okay.

He might aswell build you a personalized skateboard while he's at it.

Overall, he'll be supportive, bright , patient and kind.

Langa ! ★

Langa will be patient and considerate, if you're injured, he will forbid you from being reckless.

He'll also probably ask reki for advices when you're having troubles with something and he doesn't know how to help.

He'll get worried when you fall down but he'll also encourage you, he'll try to make you feel the fun and freedom feeling in his own ways.

And most certainly, Reki will be included 100% in one way or another, so you're probably going to have the duo supporting you all the way through this journey of skateboarding.

Joe ! ★

Joe. Joe... How do i say this.

He'll be supportive, sure, but he'll probably flex and use himself as an example very very often. Am i wrong?

Please bury me if i am.

I can imagine you two chatting about skateboarding tricks in a restaurant(most certainly his restaurant) in a very chill atmosphere.

He'll encourage you, that's for sure, and remind you to never isolate yourself and come to him or anyone else for advices or to hang around and have a good time.

He might look like a dad with his child.. unless-

Cherry ! ★

Cherry will be supportive, though he might not look that happy, he is happy about it.

He completely believes in you and encourage you to learn.

Looking at the way you stand on the board and skate when you're able to, he'll give you advices, a lot of advices, probably based on operations, degrees and all of that.. AM I LACKING ORIGINALITY?? I'M SO SORRY-

Overall, Cherry will be really sweet and will help you learn skateboarding in his own ways, if joe came across him teaching you though...

Shadow.... uhm, shadow.. I.. Uh..

It depends on multiple factors, shadow can be a complete "antagonist" Or a real sweet guy, if he's on his "antagonist" mode, he won't be really supportive , as you know..

But if he's on his sweet side, then he'll be supportive and patient, he'll try to make sure you don't get too hurt...

Or he won't.

Maybe try to kidnap him through the garden store, he'll complain but uhm..

I guess it'll work out.

Shadow can be helpful though, i swear. I'm just too tired lazy to think furthermore.

Miya ! ★

Miya will be a tease, but he'll also be very supportive and caring, he'll make sure to give you advices and that you're okay, and will, once again, tease you a lot, but you'll surprise him caring a few times there and there.

He's very sweet, and he'll encourage you, he doesn't want you to leave him too, so, he'll be really considerate and all of that...

Adam.. He'll try and see if you're suitable to being his uhm... Eve..

If you are, then be ready because this is going to be something, if you're not, then he's completely disinterested.

It's just hitting me that Izuku’s whole journey doesn't even focus on his family drama like because there isn't any! Like at most, we just know Hisashi is some guy who breathes fire and works overseas. That's it.

Yet, neither Inko and Izuku bring him up like that, let alone talk about how bad he is because well, what if he isn't actually a bad guy?

I kind of figure that Hisashi actually does keep in contact with his wife and son and send money. (They live in a moderately nice apartment and Midoriya has a lot of All Might merch) I like to think he tells him how he wants to be home and that he loves them dearly and the moment he can come back he's not leaving Japan.

The way Izuku and Inko act doesn't come off as if Hisashi was ever this cruel man who just up and left.

In fact, how they act reminds me of another mother and son duo from a BONES production.

Sk8 the Infinity.

Reki and his mother doesn't really show that Reki's dad is some bad guy. They don't even mention him like that just as Inko and Izuku don't and guess what?

REKI'S DAD ACTUALLY SHOWS UP AT THE END OF THE ANIME!! He is actually there chilling with his family!

It's how I imagine Hisashi's possible appearance in the story. I would be fine if he shows up in the end with his wife and son.

It's so often that protagonists tend to have bad relationships with their parents and/or said parents left out of their lives for selfish reasons. Or they're dead. And then those relationships be the catalysist to a lot of the protagonist's problems. Especially in the Shonen genre.

Bucchigiri?! Episode 1 Review - Hiroko Utsumi Is Back

After the success that was SK8 The Infinity, Hiroko Utsumi returns with another original anime. She sets aside the skater boys and goes for delinquent boys and genies this time around. Will it live up to the hype surrounding her name and trajectory? It’s only the first episode, so I need to see if it’ll be as great as SK8.

From the first episode alone, I liked it. It’s pretty zany, as true to the Hiroko Utsumi formula of having very illogical premises work. The story is about Arajin Tomoshibi transferring to a delinquent high school in hopes of getting a girlfriend and losing his virginity. He then gets involved in school gang fights. Oh, and he finds a djinni who wants to grant his wish. The genie then gives him tremendous strength as a condition to his wish.

You can see that there are a lot of references to Arabian Nights. Other than the concept of djinns and wishes, you can see that Arajin is very Chinese-themed from his outfit to his family’s restaurant being a Chinese one. This is because the original story of Arabian Nights had Aladdin, the character he’s based on, as a Chinese boy. The buildings in this story are all Arabian-inspired buildings. So, this is actually a very creative part on Utsumi. I’m not too familiar with other Arabian Nights stories, so I’m not sure what other references there are.

There are so many characters to keep up with. However, I do like what I’ve seen so far. Arajin is arguably a bit one-sided at first glance as his only defining trait is his desire to get laid, but there could be a reason why he does this when he’s with Matakara. Matakara is this show’s version of Makoto Tachibana, a nice beefy dude who’s childhood friends with the black-haired MC. However, they had separated for five years before reuniting. Matakara seems like a nice guy—the ways Utsumi writes nice guys is that if they’re nice, they’ll always be nice. The other characters are pretty one-note, but I’m sure I’ll see more later on. The character I’m most interested in is Marito, who is very sultry. However, the best character so far is Arajin’s mother. She’s so cute and a super embarrassing but loving parent.

The djinn is actually a lot cuter than I expected. The trailers had him as this hulking spirit that looks all serious and straight-laced, but he’s very cute. Like, he hangs around Arajin and even watches TV in his house. He’s super chill and friendly, contrary to his appearance. Like, I think he might be the dark horse in terms of stand-out characters because I didn’t expect this character to be so freaking adorable.

What surprises me the most is that Utsumi is actually using a female lead, or a heroine, for this story. If you’re familiar with Utusumi’s works, she really likes ‘fujo-bait’ shows. With Free, there are a few female characters but none of them are too significant other than Gou who isn’t the female lead; the main characters are all male. With Banana Fish, there aren’t that many female characters as the main characters are primarily male; Eiji, a male, is arguably the heroine of the show. With SK8, there are some females, but they’re mainly supporting characters as the show is about guys who like skateboarding. I think this is the first time Utsumi is using a heroine for her works. Mahoro is so important that she’s even the main focus in the ending—this has never happened before. However, how important she will be will depend as she’s mainly a sadistic brocon who gets turned on by her brother Marito beating up her potential suitors.

Because this is animated by MAPPA, the animation is very good. I just hope they’re treating their animators well this time. Workplace abuse is a huge no for me. The anime feels very over the top, but also well-animated in that regard. The fights are handled great, but there’s also the mix of the classic Utsumi fan service sprinkled in; she clearly loves back muscles as she emphasized Matakara’s a lot.

The voice actor choices are actually very surprising. You’d assume there would be a cast of new faces, but not exactly. While there are some new faces like Anna Nagase, there are a lot of veterans and voice actors who aren’t well-known. For example, Arajin’s voice actor, Genki Okawa, was in Yugioh Zexal as Mizael, but other than that, he isn’t a big name. Some big named veterans in the cast are Nozomu Sasaki as Marito; he voiced Johan Liebert from Monster, Eriol Hiiragizawa from Cardcaptor Sakura, and Yusuke Urameshi from Yu Yu Hakusho. Other big names like Kappei Yamaguchi (Inuyasha, Ranma Saotome), Makoto Furukawa (Saitama), and Ryota Takeuchi (Elias from The Ancient Magus’s Bride, Ushijima from Haikyu) are casted here but I don’t know who their characters are because there are so many introduced from the get go. The other voice actors are small names, but I do hope they get big. Everyone deserves a chance at the spotlight!

Overall, I’m a huge sucker for Hiroko Utusumi’s works so I might be a bit biased in this review. However, I can say for a fact that her works are always entertaining to watch. I hope this one is the same. If you’re watching this show, what are your thoughts?

- I feel like he doesn’t like loud noises either (unless HES the loud noise, which might cause problems between you two), so he’s got noise canceling headphones at the ready to summon at a moment’s notice

- Movie/show date nights watching any anime, kdrama, or hopelessly romantic movie you want

- Will make your tea for you (and will spill it in regards to the hotel of course)

- Info dump to him and he will gladly listen, engraining every single detail to memory, asks questions and shows genuine interest as well

- With you both being mischievous and playful, and you having a contagious laugh, I can see many laughing fits over the silliest of things

- If you spoil him with gifts his heart will flutter, it’s usually the other way around

- Not at all afraid to show you off either, all the PDA in the world. Want to hold his hand? (I’ll take that hand now-) He has four now so he can do that AND hug you, no one has a doubt in their minds that you’re together, he will proclaim his love to you with a 99 power point slide on the News with no hesitation

- Will honest on his fathers name kill anyone who makes you feel like shit or like you have to hide your wonderful personality. That double Hell comment Angel made in the pilot? Yeah, that’s what’s gonna happen if ANYONE messes with you

The sunset painted Okinawa in vibrant oranges and pinks as Reki and Langa made their way back to Reki's house after a long day of skating. Both boys were grinning from ear to ear, their passion for the sport leaving them buzzing with energy even as the evening winds grew chillier.

"I still can't believe the new trick you pulled off today!" Reki gushed, giving Langa an admiring smile. "You're picking this up so fast, soon you'll be wiping the floor with all of us!!" Langa bashfully rubbed the back of his neck at the praise. Though he'd only recently discovered skating, being with Reki made every bruise and scrap feel worth it to improve.

When they arrived at Reki's, his mother had a hot dinner and warm blankets ready to chase away the remains of their day's chills. As they ate, Reki regaled Langa with wild tales from other competitions, keeping the mood light and fun. Once their bellies were full, Reki suggested they relax with a movie, and Langa readily agreed.

Cuddling up under the kotatsu, Langa leaned back against the sofa as Reki nestled in beside him, pulling the blanket over them both. As the opening credits began to roll, Langa glanced down at Reki, taking in his relaxed smile and rosy cheeks. Without thinking, Langa reached out to tuck a stray lock of hair behind Reki's ear, his fingers lingering to caress his neck. Reki turned to meet his gaze, bitting his lower lip trying to hide a giggle, and that's when Langa discovered something new—Reki was ticklish!

As Langa's fingers grazed Reki's neck, he noticed the other boy's breath hitching with barely contained laughter. Curious, Langa ghosted his hand lower, trailing gentle fingers along Reki's neck. That's when Reki broke, squirming and giggling helplessly as Langa found one of his most sensitive areas.

"H-hey, no fair!" Reki protested through his laughter, trying in vain to bat Langa's hand away. But Langa was smitten by this new playful side of Reki, and determined to learn all his weaknesses. Shifting closer, Langa slipped his hand under the blanket to test just how ticklish Reki's torso might be.

His hunch proved correct as Reki exploded into peals of laughter the moment Langa's fingers made contact with his tummy. "L-Langa stop!" Reki cried breathlessly, writhing in the other boy's grasp but making no real effort to escape. Tear tracks streaked his cheeks from mirth, a wide grin splitting his face that Langa found utterly captivating.

Wanting to hear more of that wonderful laughter, Langa redoubled his ticklish attack. Reki squealed and kicked his legs, holding nothing back as Langa explored every inch of his trembling torso. By the time Langa showed mercy, they were both panting and giddy. Reki gazed up at Langa with something new and tender in his eyes, and Langa thought that maybe, just maybe, Reki's laughter wasn't the only thing he wanted to keep discovering between them. . . .
