as i'm workin on my Ancient stuff- i've got to say that it is really interesting and neat (read: nasty) that there's a good chance most of the Ancient population probably didn't actually wear masks. but We think they did cuz the only really solid evidence of what they looked like at all all comes from places of the higher social circles. and those strived for religious... superiority, i guess. brownie points, not actual dedication to the religion for the sake of its teachings but either because it made them look good, put them higher in the social hierarchy or whatever manipulation have you (or the flawed look upon the religion aka "we gotta get out of this cycle no matter what")

all we are left with are the bastards. the simple people and their cultures that were left to weather the Iterators' rains were simply washed away. nobody cared for their way of life- as long as it served the higher circles well and they stayed submissive (enough so that at the end everyone would take a dip in the void), nobody had to give a singular shit

just how much do we not know about the Ancients' *everything* because of this disregard? how much do we think we are right about, when such is true only for the small but privileged piece of the species?

I don't remember anyone ever talking about this, but since Sparrow kept the traditional naming conventions of Oakvale when naming Normal (Normally'ly Oak-Swallows-Garcia) that probably means that Hero's full name is Hero'ly.

And. Because the suffix 'ly' denotes a person being descended from someone from Oakvale.

This also counts for the twins. Which means that they are probably called. Sparrow'ly and Lark'ly.

I love how Five calls himself and the other kids born spontaneously ‘lucky little weirdoes’ in that season two promo/recap it makes me think and feel that he had a a lot of elder type endearment for and camaraderie with his fellow instant bake babies which I think is proven further back when he and the others realize Lila is one of them and he softens for a sec; sane when he first meets the Sparrows, after the ‘wtf they can’t be ur kids, we’re ur kids!’ he seemed pretty polite and dare I say intrigued and glad to see them.

So I’m guessing that means they caught her while trying to confront her about the incident with the friend, and eventually over time she learned to put on her “mask”

Songbird's Possible Powers

As Bagua is planned to have 2 powers, to avoid doing multiple polls, I'll have it set that the winner and 2nd place winner of the polls will be the 2 powers.

Pitch Perfect: have influence over sound, can be used once to muffle the whole world for a short time or be a big sound burst, or could use it more often and selectively, adjusting the noise you and your allies can make.

Little Birds: arrows you fire turn into little birds (what kind depends on the user), the birds can be used for long range communication and spying, able to echo what they hear. All are magically connected and act as semi sentient walkie talkies.

Second Wind: give a literal second wind, someone wore out will be reinvigorated, someone scared will find their courage, and hero wise, have the ability to reset/restore another hero's power even when they should be used up.

Freestyle: have the literal ability to walk (and run) on air, go where you please in the open air.
