Canary in a Coal Mine
Canary in a coal mine,
Breathing poison air
How used to dark and coal dust must you be.
But do you even know your purpose here?
‘Cause the side of being first to die that no one sees
Is that you never see death
‘side your own
And you always die with purpose
As a warning
So that maybe some life, some other living thing
Will survive the mines where you could not
Let me tell you of your purpose oh canary,
To live and sing your golden songs
And to be a warning of death to come
Your job is not to live, it is to die
And let me tell you something else
Little canary
You failed
So don’t you dare,
Survive

thoughts while watch e6
Pjo ep.6 watching reaction (now that I can do this, Yay!)
{note: I have read the books many times, but it has been a few years and my memory only works on highly detailed plot summaries and random unimportant scenes not the whole book}
So i have subtitles on so when i read ‘principal's voice’ it only took a few seconds for me to figure out it was a dream or a flashback (before I was watching with someone else who did the dream-vs-reality-figuring-out for me)
Definitely dream
Half expected the truck to go under a bridge or in a tunnel when Grover stuck his head out the top. But no.
The Iris message! With the prism
They think it’s Clarisse. I thought they were going to think it was Ares.
Also Luke when they say they know who the Lightning thief is
(how i see it) Percy not letting himself lay all the blame on Clarisse (even though he probably does not like her)
“When did you turn into an old married couple?”
Annabeth knows how Luke feels about his dad
All the animals need is thumbs, therefore the humans/demigods/statyr are now useful
Yes! Reading the Odyssey is useful. Also I’m glad they figured it out
Wise Girl
A looks at G when saying not to eat anything, G noticed
“If you don’t know, what chance do I have?”
“Time and space are easy kids, parenting  is… something else entirely
Stealing front the god of thieves
12 year old is driving. This is bad. Also funny. Also bad
How does he know how to turn off the lights?
*Dramatically walks into the water in the middle of the night*
!!!! “There are four of them” !!!!

The Nameless Things
The Nameless Things of Tolkien's world,
What are they? What are they? Where do they hide?
deep in the caverns, beyond balrogs in mines
hidden deep in the waters, surpassing all's ability to find
old as the world, younger than song
unspoken by angels, yet known by gods?
but are they known? these Nameless Things
found past all trace of light and sound
'found' I say, yet never found
even Evil has a name,
even The Eye needs something to see
What are these? What are these? The Nameless things

Dyslexia moment from today
So I was reading a physics thing, an electricity physics thing, an electrical current in circuits complete with diagrams physics thing. And when I was reading this physics thing I came across the word "squirrel"... except, i did not. I read half way through the paragraph before i realized that - even in physics textbooks - squirrels carrying rods are not typical.
So I looked back at the start of the paragraph, and there it said... "current"
Now I may constantly switch up numbers and letters, and I may have only learnt that apples and applies were different words at age 13, but I have never in my memory miss read "current" as "squirrel". I can't even remember the last time I thought about squirrels. It has been at least 4 years since I have seen one.
Why did it take me half a paragraph to notice???

ah yes, the pinned post. How to start this...
Hi, i'm Sy Siaraan (She/they), a typical tumblr triple A battery (AroAce Autistic). I'm the poet/writer in the family, (go see @zy-7-12-ninetwo for random art) so expect unexpected midnight-written poems to occasionally appear here. (I do do silk art stuff though (see profile image) so Zy doesn't have all the claim on arty stuff. )
Fandoms
Read Bold for fandom list
This is not a one fandom blog, I will often switch blog focus from one fandom/book/series to another. Traffic smp / Hermitcraft / Empires smp don't ever seem to remain out of focus for long though. Other fandoms/books/series that will keep popping up on this blog include:
- Nevermoor (by Jessica Townsend, Book series) - Ranger's Apprentice (by John Flanagan, Book series) - Rick Riordan verse (Anything in the world the Percy Jackson books are set in) - Star Trek - Tolkien (works and related fandoms (as Ao3 puts it), Lotr, Silmarillion etc.)
Fandoms/books/series that may appear every-so-often include:
- Narnia - random science and maths stuff - Doctor Who - DSMP / SBI - Sherlock Homes - Good Omens - Harry Potter

A thought about an odd thought in context
do you ever think about how some things that you say or thoughts that you think would seem really strange in any context but the moment that you said or thought them?
My thought that sparked this line of thinking:
"Why are my earphones not under my bed?"
