BLINDSIDED !!
send BLINDSIDED for a scene from my muse's past in which they were betrayed or shocked by what someone did
There are two men pinning him down by his ankles and by his wrists.
The sky is clear and the air is cold, and the grass he's been forced down into is certainly preferable to the abrasive rock that forms their land. A little ways off, there are people he knows - a farmhand and his girlfriend, both skirting eighteen. They keep their heads carefully turned away from him, despite Leifur's hissing and screaming. One of the men snarls him to shut up, and Leifur spits at him.
It is the fucking Norwegians, this is their doing. Leifur liked Tór, despite - he understood now - their initial meeting being an invasion. Tór gave him food. Deep down — despite failing to understand the intricacies of their existence, nor the political plays that these mortals weaponise — Leifur does not wish to believe that this is Tór's fault. It is the people, the Norwegian people, who came here to conquer and to pillage. Under Tór's instruction, yes, and yet...
Could Tór stop this, if he so wished? Could the Góðar?
It is King Olaf who sent Stefnir, King Olaf who sent Thangbrand to the Góðar, King Olaf who - now - has taken several of his people hostage in Norway. It is King Olaf threatening to take their life, should Iceland not convert.
He is aware, too, that the Góðar speak endlessly about Norway. That's all they ever seem to talk about: Norway, Norway, Norway. Friends, that's what they are, and they have to stay that way. It is because of Olaf. No decisions are ever made without the King's presence looming. He doesn't understand why, but he doesn't understand a lot of things. He thinks King Olaf is evil, and he cannot understand why his countrymen simply bow their heads to him. After all — is he not mortal, too?
"Fuck you," he hisses at the men, jerking his wrists against the restraints — ineffectually. Few men would be so heinous as to treat a child this way, but Leifur is no mortal child. He is an immortal boy, physically only five or six — but right now he is a rabid animal, the explosive embodiment of all the great fires of their land. He unleashes a barrage of curses a boy of his age should certainly not know, and he attempts to bite at one man's wrist. "Fuck you! You don't care about Sturla. You never cared about Sturla!"
"You don't even fucking know Sturla, boy."
Leifur spits at him again, then throws his head back against the ground and screams.
His countrymen all know him as a strange boy, coming and going as wildly as the winds of their homelands — and behaving just as erratically. His presence tends to inspire a variety of reactions: some find him endearing, while some find him offputting. They all find him familiar, though, even those he has never met before. He is, after all, the land they walk on and the water they drink. Regardless of how they may find him, he will be exist as they born and as they die.
"Stefnir destroyed everything!"
"And Stefnir is never coming back here."
"And now they've taken Sturla, your 'friend'. Coward!"
The man's chest heaves with rage, and for a moment he looks ready to strike the boy. "You question my fortitude as a man?"
Leifur stops thrashing momentarily to hold the man's gaze, violet eyes all but coring the man from the inside. "I don't question it. You are a coward."
Finally, the man grabs his hair and slams the boy's head back into the earth. Leifur doesn't seem to care or even really react, continuing, "And everyone who Thangbrand got are cowards!"
So, this boy is nothing more than a heathen, is he? It is unusual for one so young - and so isolated - to feel so strongly against the Christians. It was easier to understand it from the farmhands or the sons of the Góðar, but this boy who simply roams, who exists outside the bounds of their society? He doesn't even engage with the Góðar as he should. He may be their land, but he is disrespectful — a lucky little boy who does not know to appreciate what he has. It is infuriating, listening to him whine about the King and the political affairs he takes no interest in. Many of the Góðar are displeased, of course — but law is law, and blood is blood.
"You speak ill of the King and he will have your head, child."
"At least my head won't be bowed. I'm not a coward."

Ék man að mikið hrafns vín rann niðr véttrim þeirra. Ék man að Gungnis vǫ́fuðr var alltaf bakvið tjǫldin þegar ofsi leiddi Heljar sónþollr. En erum fǫst fyrir. Ísa brot færir alltaf nýja þekkingu til þeirra sem hafa hvarma skóga stjǫrnr til að sjá. Látum mána hauðrs hvéls geisla lýsa upp myrka afkima falskra orða.
[ENGLISH - I can see a future]
I can see a future! I can feel a Sun rising that spreads no cold staves over the deep kingdom of water. A new circle has finally started. The dark storms and the steady danger from snowslides more and more fades away and give us new hope to survive. This winter will be remembered, these whispered words will be remembered. Still the ocean boils, still hungry sisters crave for innocent life. But new grass lurks through the white death and new light sets stoned spirits free from snow and ice. Many a man faded away to the unknown outside of Ullr, many cattle were caught by destiny. My father gave my mother words to remember, words that bind my life to lead this family. We built up our homesteads again and found new paths to neighbors that were not less bitten by the wolf's cold mouth. But some whales follow their ways into Ǫnundarfjǫrðr. Some end their lifes journey on our beaches. As my father told us, this always starts anger and war. Many great families were taken to Hel's kingdom, many lives still wait for their end that is caused by this alien and silent soul. We find our way back to Vatnsfjǫrðr and renew words. High is now the amount of goods that we are obliged to transfer! It seems a Goðorð is not always a sign for peace and wealth. Good men were already in the old world of eternal woods taken by a false will to obey material gods. For obeying the shining gold of cold blades. I remember that much Blood ran down their fuller. I remember Óðinn was always at hand when fury led men. But we stay. Spring always brings new knowledge to those who have open eyes to see. Let the sun's rays illuminate the dark corners of false words.

Anthony Stark, Iron Man - Antonín Silný, Železný muž
Peter Parker, Spider-Man - Petr Parkáň, Pavoučí muž
Steven Strange, Doctor Strange - Štefan Podivný, Podivný doktor/Doktor podivný/Doktor podivín
Hope van Dyne, the Wasp - Nadja von Údolí, Vosa

So, I was reading this book of celtic myths and legends, and, Queen Maedb's daughter is called Findabair.
💡
The Witcher is this interesting crossover between slavic and celtic mythology. You see references as you read, the one that comes to my mind now is Tór Ziereael (Tór Mór). And now we see where does the Daisy of The Valley's name comes from. Francesca Findabair receives hers from Queen Maedb's daughter, the one who was promised to the warrior who would be able to bring over Cu Chulainn's head to the queen.

tór gabble and nathaniel hawkins
With one last, furtive look around Tór went around the back of the book store to cut him off. After that, it was easy: two quick, long-mastered moves and the guy's chest was pinned to the brick wall with Tór's forearm. ...Except, whoever's chest his elbow was now digging into, it wasn't the weaselly investor he'd been tailing; he was now hurriedly running in the opposite direction. "Fuck." Now, this certainly wasn’t the first time Nate had found himself thrown up against a wall. Normally, he had at least some idea why, though. In this case, he was reasonably certain that he hadn’t offended anyone to the point of assault. Well, recently. He definitely didn’t recall offending this particular rather violently-inclined individual.“...if that was some sort of an invitation, I’m afraid I’ll have to respectfully decline.” He wasn’t about to get in a shoving match, even if ‘invitation’ was a generous way to refer to what was at best a one-word command (or potentially an unrelated expletive).

Can I intrest you in a Norse demigod AU??
So this basically came to be after I listened to “You’re Welcome” from the Moana soundtrack a bit too much and then started thinking of Leckie as a demigod and Hoosier as a tired human. Not good, not good at all.
Let’s just start by saying that this is going to be set in the Norse mythology because I don’t know enough about the Polynesian on that’s in Moana (and I haven’t even seen the movie yet so, like), and I don’t want to screw this up. So Norse it is. It’s from Scandinavia, like me!
Leckie is a demigod (duhh) and he doesn’t really know who his demigod parent is. It’s said to be Váli, who is the God of revenge but he has never really claimed him as his son, and Leckie therefore sometimes like to say he’s the son of Tór, because that’s more fun.
His given name is Roðbjartr (Robert did exist, but it was more a Christian name than Norse, so), but he usually goes by Leckie, which was a name he picked up somewhere along the way.
Leckie died pretty young while performing a mission for the Gods. Since he died in battle, he was brought to Valhall, where he spent a short while before he was given the permission to return to Miðgarðr to continue helping the humans. The Gods didn’t want to do it themselves, and demigods were the perfect people to send.
This time it was with a condition, however. If he died again, he would stay dead and not be given a second chance at life. The Gods wanted to make sure Leckie knew that he wasn’t the same as them - they were immortal and able to do anything they wanted, but he, despite his godly side, wasn’t and would never be either until he returned to Valhall.
He spent years helping the humans, defending them from monsters and disasters. He was praised for his actions, and in his loneliess it became the one thing that he focused on.
It would affect him negatively, constantly hearing how good he was, and he would later become quite big-headed.
After a particularly hard battle at sea with a monster, he became trapped on and island, unable to get back to the humans’ settlements. He survived, of course he did, but he spent years away, sat on the island repeating to himself all the things he had seen and done as time passed around him, and by the time a boat arrived to take him back, he was changed.
The boat carried three passengers, all humans who had been sent to explore the rumours of the mighty demigod’s disappearance. It was a legend by then, and seafarers had for years tried to find the one who had done so much good for the humans, but all had failed.
Until Hoosier set course, his friends Runner and Chuckler with him, convinced he could track Leckie down and get him to save their village.
Except the Leckie they met wasn’t the Leckie they had heard of. He was impressive, sure, with his mighty spear and magical powers, but his personality wasn’t what they had expected it to be.
“I know it's a lot: the hair, the bod! When you're staring at a demi-god.”
He quickly became tiring, and the most common phrase onboard the boat as they started to find their way back to land was “Shut up”, usually spat out by Hoosier. He had no time for cocky demigods, not when his village could already have been destroyed by the strange monster
*Leckie gives Hoosier his own drinking horn* “What can I say except you're welcome” Hoosier: “Shut the fuck up.”
Basically he’s not what they wanted or needed, but after a while he starts to realise the humans aren’t actually impressed by him
But after saving their lives a few times (and getting his ass kicked as well, because it wouldn’t be fun otherwise) they start to realise he’s not that bad. Especially when his more humble side starts shining through.
Let’s just say Hoosier starts to realise Leckie is just not a pretty demigod and that he deep down is a nice guy, and damn, that just makes him even more attractive.
They manage to save the village together and Hoosier invites Leckie to stay, because damn, he’s not letting him go off to return to being a douchebag again, but Leckie turns him down. He doesn’t feel like he belongs with the humans anymore and he thinks of going back to Valhall. But he also knows that if he does that he won’t be able to see Hoosier again. So he’s very conflicted.
He ends up confessing his feelings for Hoosier and asks him to come with him when he goes off to continue helping the humans, because he doesn’t want to be alone anymore and he also don’t want to leave and the return to find Hoosier dead from old age.
Because he doesn’t age, but he knows Hoosier will, and he’s therefore determined to find a way to stay with him forever.
Cue adventures with Hoosier and Leckie where they’re super snarky but also great and for the first time in his life Leckie is happy.
