So, running with the fact that actor Linden Ashby once played Johnny Cage in the 1995 cult classic Mortal Kombat and even has his own background in martial arts; I fully headcanon that Sheriff Stilinski would've put baby Stiles in karate or taekwondo classes. Maybe even both.
I can see him doing the classes young, getting really good at it and Claudia cheering him on. Maybe his dad would take those parent/child classes with him or hell even teach himself. But I can also see Stiles and the Sheriff no longer doing those classes after Claudia passes away.
Stiles's normal cheering section is quieter with his mother's passing. Martial arts was a Stilinski past time, and not something he shared with Scott surprisingly enough.
Maybe he was friends with Danny before, during practices and maybe even at school. But he couldn't keep looking at his friend without getting sad about all of the times his mom would pick Danny up and take both Stiles and him to tournaments and how she'd make kid friendly and fun granola bars.
Stiles would probably start his training up again (in private) when the whole werewolf business comes about. Starts going back to the dojo, calling it "research" and what not so Scott doesn't ask too many questions. Hopefully reconnects with Danny through doing it, even more hopefully he reconnects with his dad with reuping his martial arts training.
Don’t think I’ve mentioned VSU’s got a professor in the math department who teaches Taekwando.
Dude talks a lot but he’s not all talk, the man has different martial arts under his belt and he was a pro-wrestler before he decided to settle down to be a Doctor of math and economics.
And he still wants to take time out of his busy professoring to teach a bunch of punks self-defense. Bit of a legend, really.
I’ve never even had him as a math teacher, but I’ve always heard of him for these past four years because he seems to be everyone’s favorite.
My main context of this guy is in sport coats or tracksuits being hard on about my form when we’re on the mat.
Oh, and this article about his transition from Mr. Excellent to Dr. Fritz
My ex Taekwondo teacher was a four foot something, elderly frail-looking man with a tightly tied ponytail that seemingly curled magically at the end, and a mouth that bragged about tripping and gouging out the eyes of men twice his height who would lift him up like a toddler.
He was a fascinating and intimidating man. My knuckles are just now healing from his class 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

The Consul General of the Republic of South Korea, Ambassador / Han Byung Jin, visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Jeddah for the Asia Taekwondo Club team
Just remembered the time when I was like fifteen at Taekwondo getting ready for practice to work towards my 1st degree black belt, and my instructor connected his phone to get some music going; like three notes into the first song the cool middle-aged butch lady in the class looked at him incredulously and said (loudly, in what I believe was a Boston accent) “Really? Jenny from the Block? You expect me to practice my forms to Jenny from the Block?” And the instructor, a 6th degree black belt, immediately changed not only the song, but the entire playlist, looking properly chastised.
There was no point to telling this story, I just felt a strong need at this moment to pay proper respect to the cool middle-aged butch lady in my taekwondo class. Absolute legend. I remember nothing else about her, but I hope she’s thriving wherever she is.
