🥹 this is truly so kind of you!! i haven't actually been receiving any shit in my inbox since october, thankfully (knock on wood lmfao) but i am always so glad to know that my meta has helped people change their minds about the cql/mdzs antagonists. mxtx really is so gifted at creating antagonists of circumstance who could make compelling protagonists if the perspective of the novel were switched around, which is why it always galls me to see them characterized as evil, or irredeemable, or otherwise just not worth the emotional investment that their fans have placed in them.

depends on how strict of a definition we're applying to being a picture of her, i think at minimum like eight but then if we count memes and png tuber stuff and stream announcements and doodles from when she was getting designed and references and when my partner used to doodle her on a sticky note every morning before work then like. couple dozen at least.

im getting more toxic friendship from Mei and MK kinda now lately

like Mei puts up with all his shenanigans because MK was probably her close and best if not only friend

But MK is now doing his thing and leaving her now more than ever because he has Monkey King buisness to do be doing all the time

sort of- they’re definitely unhealthy, but i wouldn’t say they’re toxic yet. it’s more like- they’re headed that way, but there’s still time for them. they don’t have to go the same way that wukong and macaque did. mk has a pattern of following wukong, running away and hiding things from his friends in order to protect them, but at the same time it’s not the same. don’t quite have the words for this one rn but i will keep talking nonetheless

bc like. mk hides things and sweeps them under the rug bc he’s avoidant and doesn’t want to deal with them, or bc he’s trying to protect the ppl he cares about. however, mei is willing to call mk out on this with the short term stuff (see 1x06)!! mei lets things slide bc she cares about mk (there is a difference between that and conflict avoidance but that’s a rant for another day)
