Maybe it’s the fact that I don’t want children and because I struggle with low energy levels to the point where I’m barely looking after myself but it shocks me the circumstances under which people are willing to have children.

Got pregnant from a one night stand and don’t even know the father? Yeah, let’s keep it.

Barely out of school and working a minimum wage job and knocked up by the guy you’ve been seeing for maybe a month? Perfect time to have a child.

Partner is going through cancer treatments and will probably be dead before the kid turns one? Yeah, sure, thanks Grey’s Anatomy for this.

Pregnant during your first year at uni but still insisting on finishing your studies? Kid won’t make that easier but sure.

Do people not understand the immense impact that children will have on their life or something? How much of their daily life is going to be spent looking after children and sorting child care, regardless of if you do that as a single parent or with a partner/co-parent? Or are people just so in love with the idea of having and raising a child that they think it’s going to be fine and everything will sort itself out?

I feel like I’m missing out on something here. Genuinely. Like what possess people to think to themselves ‘hey, I know I’m hardly out of school and working an unstable job where I can just about support myself and the baby daddy is some guy I fucked/dated short term but this seems like a good time to bring a baby into the world, right?’

i am always really grateful to get comments and feedback on my fics, but you don’t need to insult other peoples’ work in order to be nice about mine. it’s not even a compliment to me, really. you could’ve just talked about what you like about my writing rather than the fact that you dislike someone else’s. if you haven’t managed to find any fics in a fandom that are for you, i’d be more than happy to give you some recommendations of my own. the natm fandom is one of the most creative fandoms i’ve ever been a part of and even i, someone who barely reads fanfiction and is extremely picky about the tropes i want to read, have managed to find a tonne of fics that i absolutely adore. if it wasn’t for those fics i wouldn’t be writing my own. you can be picky about what you read, like i am. but it doesn’t mean that every fic you aren’t interested in reading is bad, and it doesn’t mean that only the fics you enjoy are good. i do agree that putting your work on the internet and in the public eye is inevitably and inherently opening yourself up to the possibility of criticism or negative feedback, but personally i think that fanfiction isn’t exactly the same as a published novel. we are writing this for free, and providing it for free, with no guarantee that we’ll get any traction or appreciation for it at all. if you don’t like a fic purely because you just didn’t like it and you don’t have anything helpful or productive to offer, it’s generally better and kinder to keep that to yourself. just be nice <3

(I’ve always been sympathetic to Gunbats!Jason, what with dead!Bruce mashing all of his triggers IN HIS FUCKING FAREWELL MESSAGE AGGHHH. Also his costume looked fucking cool.)

Anyway, now we clearly need Batgirl!Jason, Spoiler!Jason, and Signal!Jason to complete the set. (And, obviously, Batwoman!Jason would keep the cowl-wig.)

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

I have seen men and boys digging through the rubble with just their bare hands, I have seen them comforting strangers, playing with children, rocking them, hushing them, even if the face of such imminent danger. I have seen them cry, seen them grieve, seen them break down into each other's arms, seen them be selfless, beyond selfless, becoming something I don't have a word for.

I have seen the men who are doctors refuse to leave their patients, even when they have no medicine or supplies to give them, even when they're threatened with bombings. I have seen fathers who have lost all their children pick orphans up into their arms and proclaim them their child so they are not alone. I have seen men and boys digging pets out of the rubble.
