Jenna's costumes, rated
By actual popular demand (of at least one person), here are my thoughts on Jenna's Blake's 7 costumes, from the sublime to the very, very 70s.
Screengrabs from here (they prefer their images copied, not linked) and record of what Jenna wears when from here. And if you want more Blake's 7 costume snark (mixed with some love), here are Avon and Servalan.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As seen in The Way Back, Space Fall and Cygnus Alpha.
Not many decent screengrabs of this one, which is a pity since it's one of my favourite early Jenna costumes. It's delicate and pretty at a point when all the other characters are wearing something rough and practical, which helps to sell the idea that Jenna the smuggler was a cut above the ordinary criminals she's locked up with. I would wear this. 8/10.
Tumblr media
As seen in Cygnus Alpha, Time Squad, Seek-Locate-Destroy and Breakdown.
Well, the pretty costume was nice while it lasted. The pattern Jenna is wearing here is one I would associate primarily with ironing boards or perhaps baby-led weaning. It has a wipe-clean air to it. The collar adds to the overall playschool vibe. 0/10, I hate it.
Tumblr media
As seen in The Web and Mission to Destiny.
Something I don't understand is why most of the costumes on Blake's 7 are beautifully constructed (look at anything Servalan wears) and then there's this. It's an unremarkable red dress with random bits stuck to it. The weird collar bits, made from leftover fabric from Jenna's previous weird collar, look like they would come off if you tugged on them, or chanced this in a hot wash. 4/10.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As seen in Duel, Project Avalon and Deliverance.
Matching outfits!! I'm torn, Jenna is very much losing the cool smuggler vibe at this point in favour of being the Designated Girl, and the fact that she gets the pink power ranger costume doesn't help with that impression. On the other hand, this is a gorgeous piece of costume design: plausible, flattering, well-constructed. Jenna, Blake and Gan are all looking great here. So, reluctantly, I have to approve. 8/10.
Tumblr media
As seen in Duel, Project Avalon, Project Avalon, Bounty and Deliverance.
There are a few clothing trends I've never quite understood. Jumper dresses with cutouts. Peep toe boots. Cold shoulder tops. The clue is in the name; I don't understand the circumstances under which you would want to wear what is otherwise a warm and cosy item of clothing that randomly leaves some part of you to freeze. I would otherwise like this fun, futuristic space-y top, but all I can think of when I look at it is this: aren't her arms getting cold? 6/10.
Tumblr media
As seen in Orac.
Simple, classic, flattering. The belt echoes her favourite necklace! I really like this, so of course Jenna only wears it for one episode. 9/10.
Tumblr media
As seen in Hostage and Redemption.
Ack, I should like this one. We're getting a lovely sense of Grim Future fashion trends here in the repetition of batwing sleeves and belted tunics. She looks comfortable and sophisticated. Stylish Smuggler Jenna is back! The problem is that she looks like a pearly queen and I just can't get past it. 7/10.
Also, if I might be permitted to digress: what the ever-loving fuck is Cally wearing?
Tumblr media
As seen in Shadow.
It says something about how Blake's 7 treated its female cast that I couldn't find a screenshot of this costume where Jenna was the focus of the frame. And it's such a pity because I really like this. It has all the same things going on as the pearly queen outfit minus the pearly queen-ness. 9/10.
Tumblr media
As seen in Weapon, Pressure Point and Countdown.
I think I might have been watching too much of Rosamund Pike in the Wheel of Time, because I love this costume. I admit that the vibes are all wrong: this is a dress for an aristocratic sorceress, not a floaty tunic for a high-class smuggler, but I simply don't care, it looks fabulous. 15/10, fight me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As seen in Horizon and Pressure Point (pink) and in Killer (blue).
It's February 1979, Abba are at number 2 in the UK singles chart with Chiquitita, and don't we know it from Jenna's costume choices. Jenna's outfits are that bit too much of their time for me to love them (and the contrast with Blake's Robin Hood chic isn't helping), but there's definitely an extra point here for her silver boots. 7/10.
Tumblr media
As seen in Trial, Voice From the Past, The Keeper and Star One.
It's time for the biker leathers and for Jenna to wear a different necklace! Amazing that it's taken her this long to get on board with the leather trend that Avon was on since Time Squad. She must have squeaked her way across the Liberator in this but she makes it look so cool. 10/10, glad she got so much use of this one.
Tumblr media
As seen in Gambit.
This is a poor imitation of the blue sorceress dress, unfortunately. Deep colours look great on Jenna but black is too severe. Should have given this costume to Servalan instead. 5/10.
Tumblr media
As seen in The Keeper.
And we end with another red dress with bits stuck to it, except that Jenna, by now very much being treated as eye candy, has a lot more cleavage on display. But instead my eye is drawn to the Art Deco fish pattern she seems to be wearing like a sporran. Blake's 7 costume design: never knowingly unbaffling. 6/10.

Yep yep yep I could write a mf thesis on the costumes in TOWL!!! Lowkey might be the standout of the show for me (-ok, maybe acting aside lol)? Maybe/especially because I wasn’t expecting it? Not that I was thinking it would be bad or anything like that, I just wasn’t thinking about it. But the work the costume designer, Eulyn, did was absolutely sublime. I’m absolutely gonna keep an eye out for her and her work from now on. It’s not just that the costumes were beautiful (which, they were! Just to give maybe the most obvious example; Eulyn, girl, you don’t understand, we owe you for life for Rick in his military uniform 😮‍💨😂) but the storytelling told with the costumes??! 🔥🔥🔥 Just incredible. For example, in ep4, you can fully trace the state of the Richonne relationship and Rick mental’s state just by looking at the costumes.
The work done has been truly phenomenal. I hope she is getting the flowers she deserves!
The talent Eulyn has is crazy!!! She's so so good. I'm glad Danai wanted her for this. Danai's vision is never wrong. She's so right about everything. Not to go on a tangent about Danai and everything but its so beautiful to see nearly every headcanon Richonner's had come true on the screen. Like... our own ship actors had the same ideas. They were real the whole time, not just fanfiction. Just speaks to how well of actors Andy and Danai are. We really picked up everything they put down. It's amazing.
TOWL is just a masterpiece through and through. A true love letter to the fans. Even the costumes have you reeled in. It's so crazy! I've never seen costumes tell a story like this. Also I'm drunk right now soooo... sorry if I don't make much sense. I just really fucking love every single last thing about this show lol

Honestly, I feel like there would be a lot less frustration with the Coppola film if it was completely irredeemable trash with zero good things going for it bc then we could just write it off as an awful film and laugh at it for what it is - but the fact that there are SO MANY great things about it that are worthy of praise, and we know Coppola generally isn't a bad filmmaker, is what makes it so frustrating, precisely it could have been an amazing high-budget film adaptation that was accurate to the novel and the indisputable definitive version, and then it swerved and made the framing and other choices that it did, with its specific vision superseding the actual text; and ofc there's the title issue of including Bram Stoker's name and implying a faithful adaptation, though I think Coppola tends to do that with straight book adaptations to credit the author, like how The Godfather's full title is actually Mario Puzo's The Godfather.
Like, the casting is amazing! Winona Ryder is perfect as Mina! Anthony Hopkins is inspired casting for Van Helsing! Even Keanu Reeves, with his questionable acting and accent, is at least cute as Jonathan, and his star power at the time makes sense for why he played the role. The costumes designed by Eiko Ishioka are honestly among the greatest film costumes ever, and she rightfully won the Best Costume Design Oscar that year! Love the liminal creepiness of Dracula's castle and how his shadow has a life of its own! Everything about the way the scene of Lucy entering her tomb as a vampire is filmed is sublime - the lighting, the cinematography, the camera angles, the eerily chilling on a visceral level music and sound design, the make up and costume, the way the candles supernaturally light themselves, etc. Quincey is actually included for once! Even some of the epistolary format is retained, with things like the log of the Demeter narrated over scenes on the ship, Mina typing on her typewriter, Jack recording on a phonograph, etc. There are honestly a lot of positive things that can be said about the film, and Coppola does know what he's doing on a technical level, along with the talented cast and crew.
And obviously, no adaptation is going to just copy the text exactly for various reasons, like film being an audio-visual medium with a shorter length than a novel, adaptations being filtered through the lens of their creators and reflective of the social milieu they are being created in, commercial box office considerations bc capitalism, etc., and I think being faithful to the spirit of the source material is more important than textual purity, and a lot of this is going to be subjective on the part of viewers as well. But yeah, it's like, personal preferences aside, the Coppola film just came SO CLOSE to being a film adaptation that's both accurate to the novel and incredible cinema at the same time, but then it made directing and screenwriting choices like Mina just being Dracula's love interest and having none of her heroic moments (all removed or given to the men), everyone being a total asshole, Dracula going back and forth in characterization bc the film can't decide if he's a sympathetic romantic hero who just wants true love or a scary monster villain who wants to take over England and eat people, and you kind of need the latter to drive the plot outside of the romance, etc.
We could have had it all, and that's what is so frustrating to me, along with how the film is so definitive that it gets projected back onto the original novel and just about anything Dracula.

Director Leo Part 3
Part 2
A montage follows of Leo, now sporting a director’s beret, starting work of leading the group. This includes scenes of:
(Leo coordinating.)
Leo: Okay, we're going to need some supplies. The theater has some funds that we can use, but anything that can be volunteered would help a lot.
Stagehand: There are some paints and equipment from previous shows that our former Director had insisted on but were barely used.
Leo: Good, good. We’ll check them out and see what we can do with them. Anything else?
Costume Designer: I have scissors and sewing materials. Pins, needles, tape, and a hot glue gun. Some odds and ends. If I get some material to work with, I can handle most of the costume designing.
Leo: Awesome!
Actor: I have some power tools we can use for making sets. A couple hand drills, plus hammers and nails.
Leo: Great! I’ll put you down!
Manager: I have a shovel, some rope, matches, kerosene, and 10 gallons of acid.
Leo: (Pause) …any particular reason you just happen to have those things?
Manager: ........no.
(Leo reallocating the budget.)
Leo: —and if we go with the store that’s throwing a sale, we can get quality materials to make the sets for a good price.
Stagehand: Good call.
Leo: And we’ll have enough funds left over for an afterparty.
Stagehand: Delightful!
Leo: AND a designated coffee fund. Plus I brought a coffee maker that may or may not have been stolen from my brother.
Stagehand: …
Leo: …dude? You okay?
Stagehand: (Hugs the coffee maker, eyes teary)
Leo: …do I need to leave you two alone?
(Katy bringing snacks and home-made cookies.)
Leo: Okay, let’s have a break and then discuss the script. (Bites into cookie)
(Long pause)
Stagehand: Uh…Boss?
Leo: …
Actor: Mr. Director?
Leo: (Eyes big and shiny)
Katy: Are you okay?
Leo: Not until this sublime moment, no. (Grabs Katy by the shoulders) You are my new favorite baker! (Pauses and pulls out picture of Mikey in a chef hat, then shrugs and rips it)
(At the Lair)
Mikey: (Puts a pan in the oven, then suddenly gasps and clutches his chest in pain)
(Leo and the crew starting to paint sets.)
Manager: (Pulls out paintbrush out of nowhere)
Leo: (Takes the paintbrush) Great, now we need to get some red paint for the—
Manager: (Now has a red paint can he clearly didn’t have a moment previous)
Leo: …
Manager: …
Leo: ….this is paint, right?
Manager: …maybe.
(Leo working with Costume Designer to order fabric and decide on the costume designs.)
Costume Designer: I'm not saying I can’t make it like the picture. I'm saying if you drape this layer slightly asymmetrical, you'll get a much more flowing and etherial effect for less material.
Leo: I’ll agree as long as we don’t make everything purple.
Costume Designer: …that’s not even historically accurate. Why would—
Leo: Eh, I know a guy. And it’s purple. Purple everywhere.
Costume Designer: How…droll. (Goes back to work)
Leo: (To Stagehand) I like this guy! He’s like Donnie…but with taste!
(Meanwhile…)
Donnie: …(pauses in the middle of a project) For some reason, I feel like I want to punch Leo.
(Leo meeting a familiar face…)
Stagehand: And over here will be our technician to work sounds and lights.
Leo: Shouldn’t we have separate people for that?
Stagehand: Well sure, if we wanted to give up the coffee and cookie budget.
Leo: Whoa whoa, let’s not start talking crazy!
Stagehand: Anyway, we’ve recently brought on this kid.
(Leo looks up to see the new technician is actually Jase from the Purple Dragons.)
Jase: (Sees Leo and gulps)
Leo: Wait a minute…aren’t you one of those Purple Dragon guys?
Jase: Um…well…yeah.
Leo: So what are you doing here?
Jase: Kendra blamed me for the mecha incident so Mom and Dad banned me from electronics and signed me up for theater.
Leo: Ah.
Jase: ...you're not gonna kick me out, are you?
Leo: What? No! (Places a hand on Jase’s shoulder, reassuringly) Buddy, the theater is for everyone! There'll always be a place here for anyone willing to put in the effort. That includes you. If you want to be here, we're happy to have you.
Jase: (Hopeful smile)
Leo: (Places a second hand on his other shoulder) And just so you know, I've gotten pretty attached to this theater and group. And I'm more protective of my stuff than Donnie is. Sooo (Smiles brightly) if you and your little tech buddies in any way screw with this production for any reason, just remember! (Goes from smiling to soul-scarring stare) There will be no technology that can help you where I'll be sending you.
Jase: O_O
Leo: (Pats Jase on the back, back to smiling) Good talk, bud! Work hard! I believe in you! (Leaves the room, giving Jase finger guns and a wink)
(Long pause)
Jase: (Whimpers)
(Diva’s making the case to Leo for a role switch.)
Diva: (Slides up to Leo and speaking with a sickly sweet tone) Oh, New director~~?
Leo: I sense manipulation afoot.
Diva: (Laughs) Oh, silly! I'm not asking for anything bad!
Leo: But you ARE asking for something.
Diva: Just a little switch of roles between myself and Katy over there.
Katy: (Notices them looking at her and waves)
Leo: Okay, you want to swap your role as the villain with our lead actress. Any particular reason why?
Diva: Because Katy is an adorable sweet kindhearted little trollop playing a lead who is also an adorable sweet kindhearted little trollop. Do you see the problem here?
Leo: Enlighten me?
Diva: What's the point of us being ACT-ors if we're not ACT-ing? The point is for us to play parts and pretend to be other people! She's pretty much playing herself!
Leo: And you think she should play the Villainess?
Diva: I think she has stage presence that has not been allowed to shine!
Leo: And you're not just saying that because you want the lead role?
Diva: Well yes, there's that, but the two aren't mutually exclusive.
Leo: Fair point, but do you really think Katy can pull off a Villainess role?
Diva: (Smirks) Just watch and learn. (Goes over to Katy) Hey Katyyyy~! Director wants you to try the scene we talked about!
Katy: Okie-dokey!
Leo: ....she's just like a lil Mikey, omg.
(Katy goes up on stage)
Diva: (To Leo) You may want to sit down.
Leo: What?
Stagehand: And action!
Katy: (Suddenly switches from sweetheart to Overlord and projecting with all the force of an Empress) KNEEL YOU MISERABLE MINION!
(Close up of Leo looking very shocked.)
Leo: (Blinks) Oh. That IS presence....why do my knees hurt? (Zoom out to reveal Leo is kneeling.) Leo: (Realizes he's kneeling) ....oh.
Diva: (Smirks) Yeaaah, she does that.
Katy: (Stops acting and turns to Leo and Diva) How was that? Did you like it? Wait—why are you on the floor? (Gasps, worried) Did you trip? Are you okay? Does anything hurt?
Leo: Only my pride. And apparently my free will.
Katy: ...eh?
Leo: (Gets up and turns to Diva) Okay, you’ve made your point about Katy, but what about you? Do you really think you can make the switch to the main lead?
Diva: (Smirks at him then puts on a wounded face and gives a dramatic display of falling) Oh no! My ankle!
(Five other workers immediately rush to her side with varying exclamations of concern. They assist her to a seat and then rush off to get additional things for her like water and ice.)
Diva: (Smirks) Well?
Leo: …okay yeah you can act, but I was referring to the switching of roles and you needing to learn substantially more lines.
Diva: (Pouts) You could at least try to be a little more impressed.
Leo: I am one of four brothers all vying for attention. Seeing someone fake injury and innocence to have others at beck and call is hardly new or impressive. So can you learn the lines?
Diva: (Rolls eyes) Yes.
Leo: Awesome. You two can switch roles then.
Diva: Yes!
Katy: Yay?
(And gaining followers supporters!)
Actor: Soooo....we just going to ignore that he's a walking talking human-sized turtle?
Stagehand: What? No he's not.
Actor: He's green.
Stagehand: Must be a skin condition.
Actor: He has a shell.
Stagehand: It's his fashion sense.
Actor: Except he's not wearing anyth—
Stagehand: SHH! You, SHHHH! He is the first competent Director we've had! DON'T RUIN THIS FOR ME!
(Until the night of the performance…)
Leo: (Returns to backstage where everyone is gathered) Okay, guys, let's not panic!
Actor: Why does that sound like we should be panicking?
Leo: It just so happens that some people I know are in the audience.
Diva: Like "famous people who could help further our careers"?
Leo: More like "people who can potentially bring the roof down on our heads”. Literally.
All: o_o
Leo: Sooooo....yeah, no pressure or anything, but this could be the last performance of our lives.
Everyone: (Nervous)
Leo: Listen, I believe in all of you! You’ve practiced and put your effort into this and tonight is the time to let it shine! And maybe by some miracle, this show will reduce them all to tears and they'll forget to try anything murdery.
Actor: Does this mean I can bring my onions?
Leo: …
Leo: Perhaps. Keep it as a back up plan.
Manager: Hear me out.....tear gas.
Leo: How do you have....you know what, sure.

Ask can you recommend some obikin fanfics?
For sure! I’m relatively very new to the fandom, but here are some of my fav Obikin fanfics so far:
NB- my preference leans heavily towards omegaverse & mpreg, so be warned if that’s not your jam 🤙🏼 Also see full tag lists per work on Ao3 link for squick/TW, etc.
Conceal Me Verse / by @himboskywalker
Conceal Me What I Am (Omegaverse AU | 18 chapters | Complete)
Brilliant, brilliant AU set during the Clone Wars where Obi-Wan is a high-flying (beta) Senator and Anakin is a popular (alpha) Jedi Knight. To help resolve growing suspicion towards the Jedi, the Chancellor proposes an arranged and very public marriage between a member of the senate and a Jedi. Obi-Wan and Anakin are of course chosen, being shiny and popular on the holonet (albeit fairly incompatible otherwise). Little do they know the Chancellor is purposefully setting them up for disaster as he knows the big secret - Obi-Wan is in fact an alpha! Anticipating the marriage will end in violence and subsequently destroy the Jedi’s standing in the Republic, what the Chancellor doesn’t know is that Anakin is also harbouring a secret designation: omega. 🤯
This work is STUNNING. It’s a slow burn in the best possible way; packed with feels, politics, so many beloved clone wars characters, omegaverse, humour, smut, whump, *costumes*, and so much more. It’s literally a novel. Like, it’s the actual full thing. Huge fav!
Let me be that I am (Omegaverse AU | 2 chapters | Continuing (hopefully!)
Set 1 year after the events of Conceal Me What I Am, this follow up gives a glimpse into Obi-Wan and Anakin’s lives now that their secrets are out & they are living as a mated pair in earnest. *Spoiler alert* Anakin unexpectedly gets preg - which immediately makes it my favourite type of fic. Plus the writing and details and smut are just as sublime as the first instalment in the series, so it’s really just the pinnacle for me. I really, REALLY hope there are more chapters in the future because this is the 𝓈𝓌𝑒𝑒𝓉 𝓈𝓅𝑜𝓉 🥲
For Pleasure series / by @himboskywalker
Clone Wars era | 2 works | Continuing (I think)
During a mission to infiltrate a slaver’s ring, Obi-Wan, acting as slaver, is forced to demonstrate how well Anakin, acting as slave, can take punishment. Unexpectedly, Anakin is able to take it very, very well indeed 👀💦
A very sexy lil series that gets added to approx. once a year. It’s non omegaverse/preg related (which makes it very off-brand for me oh la la) but just so bloody well written that I think anyone would enjoy regardless of their ~preferences. Literally, it focuses on spanking/public humiliation kink, which is not something I’ve ever really considered or been interested in per se, but I was SO on board with it during this fic. As always, hats off to the writer (particularly for work #2, you had me!).
Oh, Where Do We Begin? / by ZenyZootSuit (Ao3)
Clone Wars era | 21 chapters | Continuing
There’s so much included in this one (as you can tell by the chapter count!) and it’s all so brilliantly done. Set in an AU where Anakin is living with bipolar disorder and Obi-Wan battles with alcoholism, key events from the prequels and Clone Wars canon are incorporated throughout this odyssey (e.g., Attack of the Clones, Rako Hardeen arch, etc). This writer *loves* angst and drama, plus a healthy serve of whump, so be warned there are death scenes, tears, relapses, and battle injuries - but there is also lots of humour, feels, and truly impressive smut ❤️‍🔥 It’s not omegaverse but it does incorporate mpreg (which obvs is a huge tick for me) as well as a very dramatic birth. All the fav characters are in there too, Padmé, Ahsoka, Rex, the 501st, the 212nd... Big recommend!
what’s mine is your is ours / by @tennessoui
Omegaverse canon-divergence | 2 chapters | Complete
The council calls in Obi-Wan to breaks some very unexpected news: Anakin is with child, and it’s his! But wait, it can’t be - they weren’t...? Ah, we love a force-willed pregnancy moment to spur on a relationship ❤️
This is a relatively short, very sublime gift fic that is *chef’s kiss* 3 Michelin star omegaverse smut 😙👌 I’m aware people have diff preferences when it comes to omegaverse ~anatomy, and this one does a great job of touching on everything a little bit without leaning too heavily on any specific trope.
Sidebar, if you’re not already following Tennessoui on tumblr (and keeping an eye on their Ao3), firstly shame on you! But secondly, do yourself a favour; read through their backlog too, they’re constantly creating and updating fics, responding to prompts and engaging with AUs. It’s fabulous and lots of fun! They also do commissions (an opportunity which I may or may not have jumped at 🤫)

SHINY COLORS FASHION ANALYSIS - L’Antica (アンティーカ)
Tumblr media
"Turn the Rusted Key of Fate"
This is a project analyzing and taking a look at the fashion design and application in the multimedia series, The IDOLM@STER: Shiny Colors. This section is about the gothic themed unit of the series, L'Antica! If you want to jump to a specific section, go here!
(This is a reprint of my thread on Twitter. I put it on Tumblr for easier reading and for archiving purposes. Enjoy!)
-----
INTRODUCTION
Tumblr media
A revolutionary unit of the New World. The flame smoldering in their hearts become a “Song,” their lonely tears become a “Wish.” Clad in gothic dresses, they sing on for hope.
Members (from left to right):
Yuika Mitsumine (三峰結華)
Mamimi Tanaka (田中摩美々)
Kogane Tsukioka (月岡恋鐘) [center/leader]
Sakuya Shirase (白瀬咲耶)
Kiriko Yukoku (幽谷霧子)
---
L’Antica (the Italian feminine form of “antique”) is an elegant & dark vocal unit that specializes in symphonic metal music. Their overall aesthetic & costumes incorporate Gothic and Victorian-era concepts, steampunk, and prominently features of other eras of history.
Tumblr media
In Shiny Colors, all units are represented by a color of the rainbow. L’Antica’s color is a deep purple that mirrors their Gothic aesthetic. It’s a color full of mystery, intrigue, darkness, and emotion which perfectly encapsulates their music and overall concept.
Tumblr media
Rather than their costumes having heavy symbolism like illumination STARS, L’Antica’s costumes are more clearly defined by their style inspirations. As per their name, their costumes are influenced primarily by 18th-20th century Western artistic movements.
Gothic refers to an artistic movement around the mid-late 1700s inspired by 12th-century architecture, a popular setting for Gothic fiction. It combines the supernatural, macabre & dark aura of Gothic literature with innate symbolism standing for psychological or social conflict.
Tumblr media
The Gothic influence can clearly be seen in their costumes, featuring dark color palettes, Gothic lolita elements like ruffled skirts, and mysterious, sublime settings of supernatural or haunting concepts. Their costumes immerse the viewer in different strange worlds every time.
---
The Victorian Era refers to the period of British culture under the reign of Queen Victoria (1830s-1900s), a popular historical aesthetic due to its iconic upper-class fashion & culture. It’s also an era of revivalism, related to movements like Neoclassicism & Rococo Revival.
Tumblr media
Another revival movement that took place is the Gothic Revival, which brought back Gothic architecture and literature into popular culture mixed with values of sentimentalism. As such, Victorian Gothic art has a preoccupation with tragic beauty and symbology for loss and death.
Tumblr media
A handful of L’Antica costumes are very inspired by Victorian-era fashion, culture, and art as well as elements of Gothic Revival; more details will be expanded upon in their individual sections.
---
Tumblr media
The most notable aesthetic that L’Antica takes inspiration from is steampunk, a genre of science fiction that imagines an alternate future with heavy use of steam engine or spring power and maintaining of Victorian-era visuals.
Tumblr media
Other than their main/first unit costumes being heavily steampunk-inspired, it has heavy theming in almost all of their unit costumes; even their logo is a common steampunk element, a key in the shape of a gear.
Perhaps inspired by the Victorian Era being one of revivalism, a handful of L’Antica’s costumes are inspired by other Western/European historical eras. Additionally, eclecticism was a prominent concept during this time, mixing several stylistic influences to make unique designs.
-----
Symphonic Steam (シンフォニックスチーム)
Tumblr media
“Symphonic Steam” is L’Antica’s main unit costume and is the most representative of their concept and aesthetic, featuring heavy Gothic and steampunk motifs. The name references them being a primarily steampunk-themed idol group.
Tumblr media
The animation features the five girls inside and outside of a clocktower. The clocktower shares many features with real life Gothic Revival architecture, including steep roofs, pointed arches, ornate & lacey trims, and overall picturesque design.
Tumblr media
The key points of “Symphonic Steam” are related to its major style inspirations, namely steampunk, Victorian Gothic, and Gothic lolita detailing. As this is their main costume, it greatly encapsulates their main influences and overall dark and esoteric feel of their music.
Tumblr media
As with many idol costumes, “Symphonic Steam” uses the “similar look” concept to make L’Antica look cohesive & thematically the same while bringing out each of the members’ individuality. This graphics shows some key differences between them, revealing a bit of their character.
Just like their costumes, the animation also shows them in different places or doing different action in/on the clocktower to show off their personalities.
Kgane is center of the clocktower (center/leader), Mamimi is lounging inside (lazy, coy), Sakuya is posing outside (serious, model-like), Mitsumine is on top throwing her pocketwatch (smart, eccentric), and Kiriko is caged, riding to the top (fantastical, dream-like).
---
Faith of Treasure (フェイスオブトレジャー)
Tumblr media
“Faith of Treasure” is L’Antica’s second unit costume. Like “Symphonic Steam,” this costume has very heavy steampunk theming. As such, the idols are acting as treasure hunters in an anachronistic Victorian city with steam technology.
Tumblr media
Comparing “Symphonic Steam” to “Faith of Treasure,” both costume sport heavy steampunk theming. However, “Face of Treasure” is much lighter and fun in nature, leaning more science fiction/Victorian, while “Symphonic Steam” is dark and moodier, leaning more Gothic.
Tumblr media
The key points of “Faith of Treasure” are its strong steampunk and Victorian stylistic influence as seen in the graphic. Additionally, the costumes suit their role as treasure hunters with the accessories and accents seen all over their bodies.
Along with the costumes, their animations point to each of the members being in a specialized role in their treasure hunter team.
Tumblr media
Mamimi is a thief, having clothes with easy mobility, a gas mask for protection, and running with a bag. Sakuya is a fancy aeronaut with her sleek dress providing little resistance as she flies through the air. Yuika is a pilot or mechanic with her goggles & tinkerer’s tools.
Kiriko is just a citizen as her design is doesn’t have as many details as the other girls, having bourgeoisie details like her cravat & simple dress. Kogane has a gun & a larger sack; along with the items seen in the beginning with the map, she’s probably the leader.
---
La Rosso Grimm (ラ・ロッソグリム)
Tumblr media
Translating from Italian to “The Red Grimm,” “La Rosso Grim” is L’Antica’s third unit costume. Taking a step away from steampunk, this costume set is heavily based on Grimms’ Fairy Tales and Gothic fiction.
Tumblr media
The setting for “La Rosso Grimm” takes place in a Gothic castle where “five girls are lost,” with the live stage being a replica of the castle and its yard. Gothic castles were a popular setting for Gothic fiction as well as Grimms’ fairy tales due to its mystery & royal nature.
Tumblr media
In fact, all of the animations for these costumes have an opening scene that mimics a fairy-tale passage with the mystery and darkness of Gothic fiction. These passages are also directly based off of Grimms’ fairy tales, like “The Raven,” “Snow White,” and “Cinderella.”
Tumblr media
However, the biggest fairy tale influence that “La Rosso Grimm” uses is “Little Red Riding Hood.” Besides the obvious name allusion (“The Red Grimm”), the costumes have a hood, the setting is a castle in the tangled woods, and the members pose with wolves in their album cover.
Tumblr media
Key points of this costume include steampunk elements as usual (but moreso as accents), a heavier Gothic and punkish influence, and “Little Red Riding Hood” theming in their construction and details.

So as mentioned earlier, I want to put my thoughts from watching the first episode of Fallout into some kind of order and a probably too lengthy post. I’m going to do my best to carve this into sections and talk just about what is relevant to each section, but there’s bound to be some overlap and crosstalk. So without further ado let’s get to it!
Sound: I wanted to start with the sound because it’s some of the first stuff that I noticed and which really grabbed me. Sound design and music is such an important facet of modern Fallout games. Not only does the style of music evoke a very specific set of feelings and ideas in regards to the game world, but it generally also feeds into the black humor that we all know and love. And this show has excellently captured all of that. The use of music is sublime, especially because this is a self contained story that allows them to cue up the music they want at the right time. In the games your radio might flip into a track of Butcher Pete while you’re gunning down a raider encampment, or it might be I Don’t Want To Set The World On Fire, or it might be Civilization. Any of those fits Fallout of course, and adds to the kind of bleak humor of the songs playing during your wild sprees of violence, or even just trekking across the wasteland.
The series though can do more with it. It can cue up the perfect song to compliment a chaotic raider attack, or to frame the pre-war world mere minutes before everything goes to shit. I think they did this in spades, using the music to add to the world and what’s happening in really glorious and on theme ways. And then past the music we have to talk about the sound design. Maybe this was easy or a given, but I got giddy when the Lucy used a stimpak and it made that oh so familiar sound that, in my brain, means healing in Fallout. The vault doors make their chunky, whooshing noises of pneumatics and hydraulics, the little signs make those small ticking noises as they rotate, every little noise adds to the feel of this being a world where people are living and interacting with things, and I think that’s amazing and really shows a level of detail that could have been glossed over or ignored.
Visuals: This is honestly a big one and I may go on about it too much, but everything in this show is, visually, pleasing and well done. We can talk about the lighting and the action, and that’s all quite good, but for me it really comes down to the props, the costumes, and the set design. The pip-boys, the vault suits, the weapons, the furniture, the drugs, the power armor, everything has been designed with a clear vision and an excellent eye to detail. It could be said that this was a relatively easy thing to do, given Fallout 4 gave us a bunch of pretty clear models that could be pulled right out and utilized. Cosplayers do it after all. But it’s all too easy for people making something like this to do it half assed and end up with a poor product. They didn’t do that, and they in fact made everything look so real and right that I think it deserves praise.
The vaults feel like vaults just from looking at them, with their corridors and heavy doors and buttons and switches, I feel like I could take a player character down into Vault 32 and explore it the same way I’ve done with 13 or 87. Everything just looks proper and in place. The brotherhood’s entire setup is exceptionally on point. Military style base with some areas that are open, others that are cramped. The power armor really sells the feel of a walking tank that moves with servos and hydraulics and will absolutely fuck up your day. And of course it goes beyond all of this and into the smaller details of the visuals too. Things like the posters in the vault, the look of the world when Lucy leaves it, the pre-war stuff that all touches that retro-futuristic vibe that is so core to fallout. The robots we’ve seen, the tech we’ve seen, all of it is just perfectly crafted and a delight to look upon.
Humor: Fallout has always had a dark sense of humor, from the first game right up to the modern ones, and this show is nailing that in the first episode. It’s doing an incredibly job of balance your standard, lighthearted humor against bleaker and more dark jokes, and putting that all aside when things need to be more serious or harrowing. I spoke briefly about the use of music to heighten this, and specifically I think we can call out the raider attack on the vault and the song playing overtop of this ludicrous violence as a great example, but there’s plenty of other points in the first episode that really line up with Fallout’s humor.
Introducing us to Lucy by essentially giving us her character build is not only a great nod for people who played the games, or an excellent way to drop character info that will no doubt be important in her wasteland travels, but it also sets up some excellent worldbuilding with some humor. Lucy is practically in a job interview to get married because keeping the vault population going is important, but difficult at the same time. She plugs her credentials and the fact she has working sex organs and good hygiene like she’s listing her degrees and certifications, and it’s a perfect pin of Fallout humor, of the larger being, whether it’s Vault-Tek or corporations or the government, treating individuals as little more than resources, that’s bang on. Stuff like the blood spattered wall decor, the way the vaulters clean stuff up after the attack, it all meshes wonderfully with the Fallout vibe. We don’t get much humor in the wastes this episode, since we see so little of it. Maximus and the BoS aren’t a funny group in the overall, they offer a more serious tone as is fitting of the setting they’re in, but we do get some excellent bits like the use of the rock-it launcher/junk jet and the mention of what is definitely an old wives’ tale about ghouls attacking chickens. That plus what we’ve seen in the trailers leaves me very confident that the wasteland will have that same wonderful mix of humor that we know and love.
Violence: Obviously we have to talk about the violence. Ludicrous violence is kind of core to the series. All the way back in the isometric games you had gory kills where people melted apart or were ripped in half by machinegun fire, in sprite based glory. The more modern games give us a lot of the same, though in less detail due to everything being a bit more hardware intensive. But we still get limbs blowing apart, people vaporized or turned to goo. This level of violence, often juxtaposed against the upbeat and retro-futuristic feel of the setting in other places, is another hallmark of Fallout that the show is including in excellent detail. The violence and the blood are there on their own of course, we’ve got some gnarly wounds and damage being done, and major props to makeup for their work on much of it. The raider that Lucy fucks up with the blender looks absolutely brutal when he shows up again so kudos there.
And we’ve got the violence juxtaposed against music and other events that add to the feel of the setting. The wild chaos of the raider attack where someone gets a fork in the eye and then goes ham with a machine gun, a raider getting smashed by the vault doors in a pop of bloody viscera, these things add to the chaotic feel and they sell the vibe of the series. And going back around to the violence on its own, that same scene really sells the chaos, horror, and insanity of a raider attack on unprepared people who are fighting back as best they can. Every bit of bloodshed in this first episode is a well made choice to sell some aspect of the Fallout world, and it all comes together really beautifully.
Aesthetic: This kind of ties in to everything I’ve already said, but the show is really nailing the feel of Fallout in every way. The Pre-war bits we get perfectly nail that fearmongering uncertainty that was on America, the division between people, all of that good stuff. What we’ve seen of the world is exactly what I would expect to see in any Fallout game. I think I’ve covered the majority of what needs to be said here already, so we’ll move on swiftly for once.
The Little Things: Just in the first episode there’s a lot of small things that don’t totally fit anywhere else and which I wanted to mention. The biggest one that stands out to me is the wedding dress. I love, love, love the fact that they thought about this kind of stuff. The vault having a sort of small, shared library of clothes for important occasions, the little names and dates on the dress denoting previous weddings, that’s such great worldbuilding in small details. Additionally the use of the vault space makes so much sense. It makes sense that the biggest single atrium would also be where they grow food, and that space would then be used in various ways, with furniture pulled out or added to accommodate everything from a wedding ceremony to a big meal to sports stuff if they have it.
I mentioned the chicken and ghouls old wives’ tale already but that’s another thing that’s just excellent. Humans love to try and figure things out and apply rules to the world, of course we’d come up with some weird, oddball tests for the new, strange stuff that’s cropped up since the world ended! Even if it’s not true plenty of people will think it is and trust in it for little more than the comfort of thinking they know how stuff works. I also mentioned Lucy’s intro, and again I just think it was a great way to give us some brief exposition that will play into how she handles herself going forward. That combined with showing us that she’s capable and able to maintain a calm, level head in a desperate situation gives us a ton of background that will mean when she later gets into a bad spot and is able to get herself out of it, we already know the why of that. Specifically we get her experience with multiple forms of combat and her knowledge of science and repair, so I definitely think we’ll be seeing some turret or robot hacking/jury rigging at some point!
I could keep going I’m sure and talk about my thoughts on the various characters and all that, but more articulate people than I will probably be doing so in better form, and I really just wanted to get my thoughts on all of the above out and in the world. I highly doubt anyone will care or want to read this long of a post, but it’s there if you do, and I am eagerly looking forward to watching the rest of this series just as quickly as I can!

“I think that sometimes people have this picture of me as this dark, gritty, dystopian guy. I do actually live in a dystopia - I'm in Northampton, which is a bankrupt and collapsed Middle England town - but humor has always been at the forefront of my work. Even in my grimmest work there's usually a few good jokes.
That story was a bit of a gift. I just started thinking about what the implications of entropy were, that if everything's going to end in a completely disorganised low energy state of freezing blackness and ruin, then that kind of implies that it must have started in a very ordered and complex high energy state. We know it didn't - or at least not the way that I've imagined it - but once I'd got that idea and I'd remembered about Boltzmann brains, I got a pretty good story out of it.
I love science for a lot of very worthy and respectable reasons, but the thing that I really love about science is the ideas. It doesn't really matter whether they're true or not - just as ideas they are often beautiful and useful. It is a fountain of just extraordinary concepts.
(…)
And I'd also had other vague thoughts going through my head. I'd been thinking about superhero costumes and neurological addiction since reading some interesting articles in New Scientist that seemed to suggest that a logo can actually imprint itself upon a child's brain, which I suppose shouldn't be surprising, that's what logos are designed to do!
Most superheroes can be reduced to just a color combination and a chest emblem. I had a strange image that was like something from an old Superboy comic, and I had no idea what it meant. It was an image of a normally dressed person walking in from the left of a kind of an archetypal 1960s comic book panel with a sort of a bland Midwest landscape and, on the other side, a fantastically-costumed superhero, and they're just walking towards each other as if to shake hands. That became the seed for the final scene. It was a really interesting experience writing that story.
(…)
You're retired from comics and you've talked about your bad experiences with the industry before. So why return to the subject now? Is this an exorcism?
That's exactly the word. I've disowned most of my comics work, including stuff like Watchmen, V For Vendetta, all of the ABC stuff, everything that I don't own. The only active thing I could do was disown it, which was painful. I put an enormous amount of work and energy and a great deal of love into all of those projects and it felt like a bit of an amputation to disown them.
At the same time, that was the only way to cut out the poison. I don't have a copy of any of those works. I'll never be looking at them again. And even thinking about them, all I've got is memories of having my intellectual property rights stolen and then when I complained about that, being typified as a crazy angry guy; "Alan Moore says 'get off my lawn.'" And yes, alright, I was quite cross, but I don't think without reason and also to suggest that I'm angry about everything is an evasion. It's a means of going, "Oh well, if he's angry about everything then we don't have to worry about what he says about the way that people are treated in the comics industry, he's just angry about everything."
And once these things have been taken from my hands and made into franchises then they can be given to anybody to do what they want with and that will somehow still be associated with me.
The comics medium is perfect. It is sublime. The comics industry is a dysfunctional hellhole. So why did I want to return to it in this story? Like you say, it's exorcism. As one of the characters finds in 'Thunderman' it's one thing to quit comics, but quitting comics is a different thing to being able to stop thinking about them. Writing this got an awful lot out of my system. It said a lot of the things that I'd always wanted to say but I'd never really had the right context to say them in. But doing them in a Kafka-esque satire, that worked perfectly. And when I say a Kafka-esque satire, what I mean is that Franz Kafka, while he was reading his stories to his followers and appalled friends, he would be laughing almost too hard to get the lines out. It's horrible, hideous, appalling - but the author was probably giggling when he wrote it.
You called comics "sublime" just then and it really does feel like, despite everything, you still have a love for the medium. Is that fair?
Absolutely. I hope that my love of it comes across; my love of Jack Kirby and many of the other artists and a couple of the writers of his generation. The descriptions of a six-year-old kid glimpsing a comic book rack could not have been written without being able to tap into my memories of what that was like, a first exposure to comics.
The medium can do anything. Its potential is still almost completely untapped. So it was attempting to express my love of the medium, some of the wonderful people who worked in it, and to also express my horror at the fact that this this little offshoot, the superhero genre, has become a monoculture that's in danger of taking down at least a considerable part of the comics medium with it when superhero movies finally aren't interesting. When that happens, my worry is that a lot of the comic shops won't be able to continue and a lot of interesting independent comics would perhaps not have outlets.”

Go and watch Barbie!
I watched Barbie yesterday in a preview. Was super happy to see a sold out theatre and many women dressing up in shades of pink! That’s the way to go!
I loved the movie! I laughed a lot but it’s also hitting a lot of emotional beats incredibly well and I was a bit teary-eyed towards the end.
The actors are indeed sublime! Margot Robbie is Barbie, she’s truly perfect for the role and gives an amazing, genuine performance. Ryan Gosling steals the show a bit because his Ken is just so OTT in everything he does, the himbo Kenergy is strong in this one! Both their characters go through their own arcs, which I didn’t expect to this extent and am quite pleased with.
Stand outs in the supporting cast were America Ferrera (who gives a roaring speech halfway through the movie that made part of my audience actually clap), Issa Rae as president Barbie, Simu Liu as Ken’s rival Ken, and Michael Cera as Allan.
Production and costume design are gorgeous, music is used in super fun ways, Ken’s song scene is actually quite a bit longer and a true masterpiece, and it has a really good message.
This movie is feminist and political in the best way, though I wouldn’t call it radical by any means – it takes digs at everyone and I’m actually pretty sure I missed a lot of little background gags and the like. I do have some minor nitpicks, but they didn’t hinder my enjoyment of the movie at all.
4,5/5
Highly recommended!

Fortnite x Yoshitaka Amano, a collaboration that nobody talks about.
Fortnite x Yoshitaka Amano, una colaboración de la que nadie habla.
Opinión
Tumblr media
It’s very probably that if you are a big fan of Final Fantasy saga, the name of Yoshitaka Amano sounds familiar to you, but if you don't know him, let me tell you a little about this great artist, of whom I consider myself a great fan.
Yoshitaka Amano (天野 喜孝) is a Japanese visual artist, character designer, illustrator, a scenic designer for theatre and film, and a costume designer, throughout his career we can highlight the following works: Final Fantasy, Vampire Hunter D, Speed Racer, Gatchaman, Casshan, Guin Saga, which are the most important and recognized of his entire career.
Tumblr media
The art of Yoshitaka Amano is very special to me in many ways, it goes beyond having given life to many of my favorite characters from the Final Fantasy saga, such as Cecil or Terra.
When I was a little younger I began to be interested in the art that went behind a video game, in one way or another as a fan of Final fantasy I ended up encountering the art of Yoshitaka Amano, more than love at first sight I made an immediate connection with his art for only one reason…his art looks like my dreams, yes, the dreams I have when I sleep, all those colors, textures and level of detail in his works, it was as if he had entered my mind and said “I have I have seen your dreams and I have painted them” that is why his art is important to me.

Art by Yoshitaka Amano to Final Fantasy VI
His style is unmistakable, when I saw the leaks that morning, and saw the loading screen, I immediately said "This is the work of Mr. Yoshitaka Amano, it couldn't have been done by someone else" and I just went to investigate to check that he was correct.
They might say that every what's in-game loading screen made by an artist is some kind of collaboration between the artist and Fortnite, and that's right, but as I have said, for me Yoshitaka Amano is special in addition to his great career and his importance in the artistic field, such as cinema, painting, theater and video games.
Going back to the collaboration with Fortnite, It not only presented us with a sublime loading screen but also with gorgeous skin that has all the vibe of Yoshitaka's style, which definitely stands out from the rest with her unique design, and that vibrant red that contrasts with the pale skin of the character, also look at that face, I love it!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At some point I came to imagine what a collaboration between Fortnite & Yoshitaka Amano would look like? considering how many iconic characters that man has created, but I didn't think I'd get to see him and I'm really grateful for this collaboration. I think no one is as happy as me for this.
Tumblr media
My opinion of the adaptation
The skin is so beautiful, I love it and absolutely she has all the vibe of a Yoshitaka Amano´s design, but, if we make a comparison between the design that we see on the loading screen and the adaptation that was made as a Fortnite skin, I have a couple of observations:
►The first: The length of the hair does not seem to be correct, it also has a kind of reddish reflections that could easily be taken advantage of and used to make reactive skin
►Second: the sleeve that you can see in the design does not match the final result, it seems to have a kind of red lace that the Fortnite guys decide to omit, also on his hand he seems to have a ring that was completely omitted.
Third: the long socks, this one probably doesn't count at all since it could be the interpretation of the reflection of the clothes in the light but it may not and that the color really is white. So this wouldn't be so much of a problem but I still wanted to mention it.
Tumblr media
Do not take this last as hate, you know that I am super observant and it is only a comparison.
This last is just my personal opinion: I think that if I designed a skin for Fortnite, I would just like them to respect even the smallest detail. And as a fan I would have liked to see that reflected here. But it’s ok, with the collaboration is more than enough to make me happy.
Conclusion It's a collaboration that surely no one expected, especially because I follow Yoshitaka Amano on his social media and he never mention anything about it, but it made me very happy that it came, also I think that not many people will know that this is a collaboration, so I hope this post has served as a small introduction to this wonderful and talented artist.
Until the next post.
THANK YOU FOR READING ME!! The English isn't my native language, if I write something wrong, please leave me a comment, that would help me a lot because I'm still learning. Thanks for your help.

Crazy Lust 1A: Bronya worshipping the cock of the current wielder of One For All
Bronya Zaychik had been paired with Izuku Midoriya; the heir of All Might's power and his closest disciple, to assist as they plunder a League of Villains base. Thanks to her quirk; Mind Matter, a quirk that allowed her to create mental constructs when she enters battle. Her sharp mind and harsh training were other key reasons; she was just as much of a hero as a support for Izuku.
She donned her hero costume and became the Mental Mage Reason Bunny as she and Izuku pierced through the defenses and rounded up the low-ranking villains with ease. Deku easily used her psychic tools with incredible precision; and none of the villains were able to put a stop to them.
But all good things do have to come to an end; the hero duo finally came face to face with the villain in charge of the facility. A powerful villainess Hypnoa who had a noxious quirk: Mind Fog, a quirk that was like a strange relative to Shinso's own quirk. All Bronya knew was that they had to finish the battle quickly, or the tide would radically turn.
Bronya manifested two masks, for herself and Deku as Hypnoa released a rich, purple cloud of mist. "Subject Deku, do not breath in the mist; if you do Subject Hypnoa can influence your mind." She watched Izuku nod and create a wall of smoke to slow Hypnoa's attack.
"I'll use Blackwhip to close the distance and knock her out, I just need you to give me cover." Izuku quickly said before four black tendrils emerged from his back as he flung himself into the air. Bronya nodded as she rushed through the smoke and the psychic mist to distract Hypnoa. Creating a battle suit from her quirk as she clashed with the massively busty villainess.
"Oh, its cute you think filters will stop my quirk," Hypnoa giggled as she clashed with Bronya, managing to meet each of her blows with her own. Bronya refused to back down and began to easily force the psychic villain toward Deku.
"They were designed with psychic quirks in mind. The Reason Bunny thought of everything." Bronya grinned through her mask as she was beginning to get the better of Hypnoa, the villainess clearly was too reliant on her quirk.
"Oh! Let's see how they handle a direct hit!" Hypnoa hissed as she enveloped Bronya in a massive cloud of her purple mist. Bronya felt the Mind Fog roll over her, and stick to her. The platinum blonde tried to push it off of her but nothing worked. Then Bronya tasted something sweet, something alluring; that was when she heard Hypnoa's voice in her head.
...You will worship the first thing you see...
Then the Mind Fod finally dissipated, but it had done all it had needed to, Bronya had an instruction, a hypnotic command that she had to perform no matter what. She looked and the first thing she saw, was Deku; or more specifically Deku's cock.
Bronya didn't care how Deku's costume was torn open; all she wanted was to worship him, to worship that fat, pendulous cock and drain those balls. Bronya rushed to his side and went to work; shoving his flaccid member into her mouth, despite his initial pleas Deku eventually leaned away and leave Bronya to worship his cock and balls. As he grew harder, Deku grew larger and fatter; until Bronya could no longer use her mouth. She then ravenously worked him with her hands as she let her mouth hang open and stared up into his pleasure-drunk face with her currently glittering pink eyes.
"The Bronya lives only to worship you, The Bronya's body is yours, Subject Deku to use as you wish. The Bronya would be overjoyed to be bred." Her voice came out in passionate, needy pants as she could feel Deku throb angrily in her hands; he was close and she needed to taste him. "Subject Deku, The Bronya wants to receive a facial, p-please paint The Bronya's face with your seed."
It seemed her plea was all she needed as Deku shouted. "Of course! Take it all!" as he exploded onto her face and into her open mouth. It was a sublime experience for Bronya as she felt each hot rope and lovingly tasted and swallowed his musky seed. As she cleaned her face off, she saw that Deku was still throbbing hard and his balls looked no lighter despite the flood he had splattered onto her face.
"Reason Bunny," Deku groaned out, "you said you would let me have your body, right?"
"The Bronya said exactly that Subject Deku," Bronya cooed as she reached to massage his balls and jerk him off again. Bronya loved how he sounded with each touch, how hungrily he looked down at her; as if she was something he had sought all his life.
"G-good, because I actually inhaled a lot of Hypnoa's Mind Fog when I stopped her... A-and I can't think of anything else except breeding you stupid. I-I think Hypnoa hoped her quirk would overpower us... and escape." Bronya heard each deep groan and grunt as she worked wildly to bring him to climax again.
"Then breed The Bronya, I am here to worship you," Bronya solemnly stated as she let Deku's fat cock fall against her face as she kissed and lavished his balls with her tongue. She heard him hiss before his cock pulsed furiously, flinging cum into her hair and down her face again.
"I... fine! I'M GOING TO BREED YOU!" Deku roared as he used Blackwhip to pull Bronya's hero costume off of her and bind her into a quirk powered fuck harness. Bronya kissed him as he buried himself deep into her pussy; causing her eyes to roll back inside her head as she came relentlessly on his monster of a member.

[Commentary/Analysis] True Gothic Form & Black Butler: Book of Murder
Tumblr media
Source: https://kuroshitsuji.fandom.com/wiki/Kuroshitsuji:_Book_of_Murder?file=Book_of_Murder.png
In school, I quite liked the gothic novel. I like a lot of old literature, but the gothic is something that has always drawn me in despite my abhorrent feelings towards horror.
As a work, the gothic is characterized by mystery, horror, and the supernatural. Often you find haunted castles or mansions with secret passageways, grisly visions by frightened individuals, or some supernatural paraphernalia seen most often in tales of terror. True to the gothic form, you can find these terrifying places to be shrouded in a mystery. The tone or atmosphere is brooding, and yet–despite that–you may also find a love story, a tragedy, or something equally sublime. Sublime, by the way, in the literary sense meaning that, while it is often associated with grandeur, it could instead refer to the grotesque or another extraordinary experience that takes someone beyond themselves emotionally.
The concept of the “sublime” encompasses the dual themes of beauty and terror that are central to Gothic works. The “sublime” refers to a sense of awe or reverence inspired by something that is grand, majestic, or awe-inspiring but also frightening or even terrifying. This duality of emotions is a key element in Gothic literature, which often explores the dark, mysterious, and supernatural while also highlighting the beauty and wonder of the unknown. The “sublime” helps to create a sense of contrast and tension in Gothic works, as the reader is drawn in by the beauty of the strange and unfamiliar, even as they are repelled by its terror. By incorporating elements of the “sublime,” Gothic writers are able to engage their readers on a deeper emotional level and create a lasting impact that transcends the boundaries of the text.
Rather than the sublime being used too define a gothic, I find that many think of the gothic aesthetic when one mentions it. When thinking of Gothic anime, titles such as Gosick, Rozen Maiden, or The Mystic Archives of Dantalian may come to mind, but I don’t know if I would consider the stories themselves to be gothic tales, despite the settings and character design. Even Kuroshitsuji, or Black Butler, a manga set in Victorian England that incorporates gothic elements into its storytelling by having dark imagery and supernatural elements often fails to meet that quality and necessity of the “sublime” in terms of story. At least, that was until I reached the Phantomhive Manor Murders Arc.
In a quick recap, the arc goes from Volumes 9 – 11 (or, Chapters 38 to 50 if you prefer). It is told from the perspective of a poor and struggling writer whose name, Arthur Conan Doyle, comes from the famous author of Sherlock Holmes. True to the name of its central character, the arc has our young Sherlockian author placed admist a party of potential murders as he, along with the other Phantomhive servants and guests, attempts solve the mysterious deaths happening within the Manor.
For those new to Black Butler or needing a refresher, the main storyline follows Ciel Phantomhive, a young noble who has made a contract with a demon butler named Sebastian Michaelis to help him exact revenge on those who have wronged him.
Of all the story arcs that the creator(s) behind Kuroshitsuji have done, this is perhaps the truest to the gothic ideas of literature. It incorporates supernatural elements and gothic aesthetics, but what makes it stand out is the sublime nature of the opposing beauty of the Manor and the grotesqueness of the murders taking place. The gothic atmosphere is further reinforced by the series’ visual style, which includes dark, brooding characters and settings, as well as intricate, macabre costumes. Unlike other arcs, the Phantomhive Manor Murders arc truly captures the essence of the gothic form. This arc gave me chills and had me on the edge of my seat, waiting for the next volume.
While many works utilize gothic aesthetics, few capture the gothic literary form, as well as the Phantomhive Manor Murders Arc in Kuroshitsuji. It embodies the gothic’s requirement for the “sublime” in storytelling and captures the essence of the genre in a truly haunting way.

cactus, abelia, daffodil, sage, edelweiss, jasmine, palm tree, nutmeg, papyrus 😁
Oh! So many!! Thank you, friend, this was very sweet of you!! I will try (and inevitably fail) to keep from rambling too terribly, but know that I love and appreciate you so dearly for this!!
This got long, so answers are under the cut! 💖💞💖
Get to know me!
cactus ⇢ something you’re currently learning (about)?
I'm learning French! All over again. I am haunted by the Duolingo owl and its reminder to keep my streak up and have so far done pretty well for someone who usually absolutely sucks at remembering to do things on a daily basis!
abelia ⇢ do you have a particular piece of jewelry you always wear or can’t part with?
I answered this here, but basically: I do not! I'm not much of a jewelry wearer, in truth. I tend to fidget, and in fidgeting, break things. I do wear jewelry often though, mostly when I need to look professional or if I'm going to an event — my mother's costume jewelry from India is... not an everyday thing though, for sure.
daffodil ⇢ do you have siblings? if yes, in what ways do you think you’re similar to or different from them?
I have a younger brother! He's the smarter one, the much more put-together one, and the definitely way better at his job one. He's in college now, about to graduate, and having all manner of adventures I was too scared to have at his age.
sage ⇢ what ‘medium’ of art (poetry, music, fiction, paintings, statues etc.) is the most touching to you? why do you think that is?
Music really gets to me. I grew up really immersed in religion and so many of our prayers are "sung" rather than said aloud, and so the way I learned the history of my faith is through music. I find myself closest to the Divine when I am listening to music, and growing up as part of an Abrahamic faith, I do resonate with Christian allegory because those are stories I remember being sung during majlis too. Every prayer I remember is because it was sung to me when I was learning it, and to this day, I keep those same tunes.
edelweiss ⇢ how’d you think of your url/username? what’s it associated with to you?
Puns. Oh lord, so many puns. My username was something handed to me, after I made so many puns I earned the name Puntessa (Pun + Contessa) and then the name Punemy (Pun + Enemy) as well as numerous jokes about them spotting me the moment they saw [Puntessa is typing...] on Discord.
jasmine ⇢ do you have a movie or book you loved but will never watch/read again?
There's this Bollywood film, Bajirao Mastani, that I absolutely adored. It was cinematic and beautiful, the costume and set design were sublime, the story was heartbreaking, the music still resonates with me... and then the ending happened and it was just so absolutely poorly done that I can never watch it again because I'm convinced the ending was when they ran out of money and just gave up. Awful awful awful CGI.
palm tree ⇢ do you have a fictional villain you shouldn’t like but love regardless?
I mean like... all of them? Listen. As a Captain America fan, as someone who considers Steve Rogers to be their comfort character, the fact that I am head over heels in love with Helmut Zemo is an actual problem and I should probably feel guilty but I don't. I'm gonna just... make it work, one day.
nutmeg ⇢ how’s your room/home decorated? do you have a specific theme or style going on?
Chaotically. I have books everywhere. Laundry that still needs folding. None of the posters I bought to put up in my room are actually put up. It feels a bit like a dorm room that I keep telling myself I'll decorate one day, but am often too busy/too tired to actually decorate. Maybe if I settle somewhere more permanent I'll hire someone to decorate my house in the dark mushroomcore aesthetic I desire.
papyrus ⇢ if you put your ‘on repeat’ playlist on shuffle, what’s the first song that comes up? what do you like about it / associate it with?
The first song that came up was Lay this Body Down by Sam Lee and I've had that one on repeat for days working on Sixteen Tons so I associate it with that fic, with exhaustion and giving just a bit too much of the self, with that nasty habit of people-pleasing that so many are afflicted with these days, and with becoming the monsters our parents make of us, baring our throats to the sky as we cry out for something more than the inevitable.
You know. Healthy thoughts.

Welcome to the rest of the article dedicated to the GMMTV series scheduled for 2023! I would like to point out that this opinion is personal and that you have the right to disagree with me.
11. Only Friends ❗️🏳️‍🌈❗️
Tumblr media
Honestly, I'm very divided on this series. 🤔
On the one hand I really like the actors (especially FirstKhaotung and Neo) as well as the director of the series since it is P'Jojo (to whom we owe Friends Zone) so I know that the series promises to be well.
However on the other hand from the trailer I have the impression that it is mainly about sexfriends and is not a concept that really appeals to me.
I think I'd watch it hoping there's still some romance in what promises to be a happy mess. 🤞🏻
12. Faceless Love
Tumblr media
This series intrigues me a lot.
I find the concept original and a change from the usual office romances. Also the costumes of the main character look amazing!! 😍
I don't know the main actors but they seem cute.
A good surprise in the end because I thought not to hang on to the beginning of the trailer (like what sometimes watching a trailer in full is good).
13.Dangerous Romance ❗️🏳️‍🌈❗️
Tumblr media
So I'm sorry but I don't like the concept of this series at all. The bully who falls under the spell of the guy who bullies him...I don't understand.🤷‍♀️
After all depends on how the story evolves and if in the end it is to show through the series that it is a toxic relationship then why not. I would surely watch the first episode to get an idea but no more if I feel that the story will not evolve in this direction.
Moreover, I am quite disgusted given that the role of the bad boy is played by Perth, who is one of the first actors I have known and for whom I have a particular attachment.
In short, I am very confused by this series. I don't know what to really think about it.
14. The Jungle ❗️mâture❗️
Tumblr media
Definitely one of my most awaited series!!😍😍
I really like everything!!
The concept of the band of "pals", the name of the bar, the nicknames of the characters. The decor of the bar is also beautiful I think, I love the place.
Moreover ultra happy to see Lee and Nanon in quite different roles from usual in bad boy mode. I hope the stories told will be as good as the trailer.
I feel like it looks a bit like Friends Zone.
In short, really looking forward to finding out what it is.
15. Midnight Museum
Tumblr media
Honestly my biggest crush in all series of 2023!!❤️
The trailer doesn't say much about the story, which makes me want to watch it even more.
The design of the trailer is just sublime (just like the poster for that matter). The fantastic side makes you want to know more too.
Plus the cast just looks amazing. I don't know all the actors but the ones I know are some of my favorites.
I hope not to have to wait until the end of 2023 to be able to see this nugget.
16. Our Skyy 2 ❗️🏳️‍🌈❗️
Tumblr media
I'm a fan of the concept. 😍
I didn't know the 1 so I admit I didn't really understand at first. But after having more information I find the concept excellent.
Sometimes an extra season is too much to talk about a couple, but a special episode about them is always a pleasure. It's quite simple but nice as an idea.
Moreover, the fact that it is P'Aof who does it when he has already worked with the actors means that the story will not be inconsistent.
And suddenly most of my favorite actors in the same series is always cool.🤭
17. Beauty Newbie
Tumblr media
I think I'll watch a few episodes when I have time, but I don't think I'll hang with the show.
First of all, love triangles in the series are really not my thing. I hate it and it tends to get on my nerves quickly.
Second, I'm not sure I appreciate a series based on female beauty which is like something important to move forward in life.
But I still want to give a chance to this series which still looks very cute.
18. Cherry Magic 30 ❗️🏳️‍🌈❗️
Tumblr media
So I know that the story of this series is not one of the most thrilling that exists.
But I can't wait to see it! 😁
Cherry Magic 30 is the first BL that I watched and suddenly I have a particular attachment for this story. ❤️
I hope the Thai version will be as good as the Japanese version.
Besides, I know that the actors are used to playing together so I don't worry too much about that.
19. The interest
Tumblr media
I don't know if I could see this film since it's always easier to find series than films when you don't live in the country of origin of the film in question.
But I wanted to point out that the soundtrack sounds amazing! And yes it's one of the only reasons that made me want to see this film. 🤣
Although I must admit that the story is quite original.
However, if you don't like violence, I don't recommend this movie
--------------------------------------------------
And There you go !
I would like to point out that a series is missing because I didn't have the English version of the title to look for it.
If you liked this article and want to know more, you can watch the trailers on GMMTV's YouTube channel.
You can also leave comments to give me your opinion or ask questions.
And I say see you soon for a new article !! 😘
