The Proud Immortal Sith Way was a webnovel with an average rating of 2.5. It was, quite frankly, a piece of shit. The only thing that kept James reading, day after day, was the main character, the Jedi turned Sith, Sirius Black.

Sirius' whole life was filled with misfortune and pain. Upon entering the Order he received nothing but distain and distrust from everyone around him, even from his Master. It was no wonder he turned to the Dark side when everyone was just a useless NPC!

The aspect of the transmigration is also something I'm really really looking forward to

I just watch Good Day For It... I have so many thoughts!!

With how it was set up, it felt like an indie film, or one of those shows with an hour+ runtime per episode. I had to double check the that this was a on-its-own movie. I don't mean that in a bad way at all! I kinda hoped it was so we could get more story and action XD but it was just- executed sooo well! By the halfway point, I was surprised that Emily hadn't been kidnapped and Luke had to go rescue her. The movie focused on them and their relationship and her getting the answers she needed. No unnecessary drama or action needed to keep us at the edge of our seats. I absolutely love how you can see what the characters are thinking through their emotions and expressions- especially Luke!!!! And I was so so so relieved when we got that happy ending of the family reunited. No prison or death for Luke, Emily and Sarah can get all their answers and hopefully they'll be one bug happy family again ^^

Hec and Rose? Do I need to say anything?? They are the BEST supporting cast ever. Hands down. I need Rose and Reba to hang out. I need more Hec and Rose banter. I need more of Hec not just flirting with Rose and genuinely caring for her. I. Need. Them.

And of course, I can't forget the thugs you- and now I- love. First of all; Norman is my favorite. He's just.... Hooooooo fuck. I need him. I need that man. So in control? So level headed yet dangerous at the same time??? Lord have mercy (it doesn't help at all that I'm 99% sure that this is the same guy who played Foxy. WHAT IS IT WITH THAT MAN AND HIS VOICE!?)

As we can see, this is yet another case of me falling in love with the sidekick/accomplice of the one you're in love(?) With. First buck and Harper, then Big Bad and Granny. Greasy and Psycho, Otis and Baby/Rufus. And now Norman and Wayne. What other team/duo are we going to fall for next? XD

Secondly, all these guys KILLED their roles. Oh my god, they really bring a whole new level to the movie when they're on screen. The tension is so thick, you could cut it with a butter knife. They just.... Ohhh my god, I wish I watched this movie sooner so I could appreciate your writing of them more!

Thirdly... Ok the fact that Robert England's character was dealt with by smashing a plate on his head 🤣🤣🤣 I'm sorry, a plate smashing can do serious damage (especially to an old man *cough*) but- the other two got shot, but it's this toon of a man that's finished off with a dish. Please tell me I'm not the only one who found that funny XDDD

And finally.... ALL OF YOU GUYS ARE TALKING ABOUT WAYNES EGG COMMENT, BUT NONE OF YA'LL TALKING ABOUT ANY OF LYLES LINES!?!? I wondered if Vasili wouldn't talk pretty much to anybody ever since the brainwashing, not because he wasn't allowed to speak, but because he couldn't raise his voice somehow. He lowered his interactions with many of them, except Mason and Woods who likely made him feel comfortable that he speaks a bit towards them. He feels "contained" within himself, locked. When before in his forgotten days of the KGB and his moments in the Perseus Faction, he wasn't like this.

What would Helina do to make Vasili comfortable with her as well?

First off, I love how Vasili kind of shut down after the brainwashing. It's an interesting contrast to Helina who instead became more open and accepting of the people and culture she once despised. I certainly don't blame Vasili for closing himself off after what Adler and Park did before the events of the game. Mental trauma, especially to that extent, affects people in a variety of fascinating ways.

As for how Helina would attempt to make Vasili feel more comfortable, I believe she would try to relate to him in ways that he would be more receptive to. She'd try to train with him so he wouldn't have to worry about making conversation but could instead get some of that nervous energy out and have him focus on something he's confident in. Just like Vasili, she's very observant, especially when it comes to human behavior. She once used that skill to manipulate people as a member of Perseus but upon joining MACV-SOG, it's become more of a tool for her that allows her to connect more easily to those around her. She'd definitely use that skill to pick up on his comfort level and react accordingly. Hopefully it'd let Vasili relax a bit because Helina would certainly be trying to help😄

Marshall Merchandise Update! Jungle Pups Edition #2!

About a week ago, my closest Walmart finally got in some of the new Jungle Pups toys, but they didn't have everything quite yet. After going back again recently, as well as checking another store, I managed to completely my Jungle Pups collection! Well... just the ones of Marshall, of course. I'd have to have a Scrooge McDuck vault full of cash to get EVERYTHING that PAW Patrol releases.

...That's not even a joke, really. 😄

You might recall I showed off some pics of all the new plush dolls not too long ago. indeed, I still profess that this newer style is really cute! Again, I hope they stick with this. However, I said they were made by GUND, yet I can't seem to find their name on the tag anywhere. Guess I was mistaken... sorry about that. I could've sworn this was their handiwork...

And here's a pic of the inside of the tag... because I like that graphic of Marshall, so why not show it off again. 😇

And now, his elephant vehicle! The smaller one, that is. It's certainly not the size of the deluxe vehicle, but all the same, it's still pretty cool.

Funnily enough, when I first bought this, I had no idea the trunk could pop out of the front. I'd seen the illustration on the back that demonstrated this, yet I didn't think anything about it. It wasn't until I seen the instructions (printed on the cardboard underneath the vehicle) that I realized just what it can do, as well as how there's a ladder that can pop out of the back. Nifty!

Can't say I was too crazy about it being $17.49. I remember when these things used to only be about $12. Inflation, I suppose. 😅

Well, here's all of Marshall's Jungle Pups merchandise! Well... I THINK this is all of it. Truth be told, I'm not sure if we've got any more coming or not. We may yet still see some of those mini figurines in the mystery boxes, not to mention both Aqua Pups and The Mighty Movie got those smaller True Metal/Pup Squad vehicles, so I wouldn't be surprised if Jungle Pups got some, too. Maybe we'll even see some Mash'ems? Hopefully we'll find out soon enough.

(Also, apologies about the quality of the pics. I went back to using my phone, since that better camera I was using really hates my rechargeable AA batteries. They can be fully charged and that camera will be like "lol nope, they're exhausted". Like, seriously?? 🤨)

In the end, I managed to get three more figurines of Marshall to my collection. As far as I can tell, outside of the paint being different here and there, they're basically identical. Funnily enough, there was a time when each figurine per set WAS different, even if one was a little bigger or something. Ah well, I'm still happy to have them, and I'll of course find a spot for all of them... somewhere... eventually. Geez, I really need to get around to clearing or making room for my other recent(ish) purchases, too. 😅

That's all for now! Currently, it's difficult to say what the next batch of new merchandise will be. No doubt we're still many months away from anything related to Rescue Wheels releasing to stores, so... maybe some regular items between time? It's hard to say right now. Guess that gives me plenty of time to get caught up and find spots for everything. lol

It had been almost a month since they started "hanging out" after the party and JJ and Varina have gotten closer each passing day, But unotified by both of them (mostly JJ) have been super close where they gave each other pet names while getting to know one another. It wasn't in til they're repeated siblings find out about them it was honestly( Zoe first) Mazzi and Vera who noticed how they act like Varina would be daydreaming out of nowhere with lovey dovey eyes or JJ could be making hearts with his breakfast. JJ was not sure if he could love someone else after the party but he gotten over it slowly and didn't wanna be hasty with anyone else and Varina wasn't sure that JJ would feel the same way about her.Mazzi agreed til she stated the times he was talking to someone on the phone way different when he would be if his friends and how he was going out almost literally of two and a half months without his skateboard or book bag and he would be all smiley when come home (JJ couldn't deny those facts ).For Varina though it was a shocker that her sister Vera figured out of all people who would notice she was the doodles she made and all the time she sneaks out when theirs parents are too busy or when everyone wasn't gonna be home (Varina couldn't try denying it).It took a lot of thinking and a lot of convincing (from mostly Mazzi then friends) for them to finally realize they're true feelings are to

Thanks for the tag, @nocturnalazure. I love doing things like this, especially when I don’t have a lot of other updates. 😄 Keeps things active. Long read, so under the cut!

What’s your favourite Sims death?

This is such a weird question to me. I mean, I know there's whole crowds of people who play this game for the sole purpose of killing their Sims off, but I'm so attached to my Sims, their deaths can truly upset me somewhat. So, no, I don't have a "favourite death".

Alpha CC or MaxisMatch?

It truly depends on what I need. I guess I use more MaxisMatch CC though.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

Absolutely. I have them gain or lose weight when it fits their character at that point in their life of their story.

Do you use move objects?

I can't play without it.

Favourite Mod?

Anything NRAAS. I probably would have given up on this game if it weren't for those mods.

Who’s your favourite sim that you’ve made?

Are you seriously asking me to choose between my babies? I have so many faves and they change from time to time too. But I guess James is a good contender. He has a very interesting character profile which grew and developed over time. Part of his story is yet to be revealed but is very much alive in my mind. 😄 However, technically I didn't 'make' James. I created his parents and James, along with his sisters, was an EA generated child.

Have you made a simself?

Yes, she's my avatar on here. I recently updated her, because she was still a YA and, as much as I hate to admit it, I'm past that life stage now. 😄 I also updated her hairstyle and clothing to fit the current me a bit more. She's not as good a match to my actual self as some of the other sim selves I've seen people create over the years, but she comes close.

I don't play my selfsim. That feels weird to me. No offence to others who do, though. It's just not my style.

Which is your favourite EA hair colour?

There's a light brown colour I'm partial to at the moment, but without opening my game I have no idea if it's an EA colour or one I've added. Recently I've become annoyed by the reddish shade of EA's darker brown, but a lot of my Sims have that hair colour, so I'm subtly changing it on some of them.

Favourite EA hair?

I have so much CC hair (need to do a purge), that I don't actually remember what hair is EA. 🤣

Favourite life stage?

I mostly enjoy playing my older teens and young adults. I know most players don't distinguish between younger and older teens, but the way I approach the game means there's definitely a difference between younger and older teens. And the older teens and young adults are usually the most interesting because I get to create the most drama during those years.

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

I used to be both equally. Building up my town and then playing it. But my gameplay changed so now I'm not sure. I play to tell the story and I build to set the scene for the story, mostly.

My extensive town is still the starting point for everything though. Honeycomb Valley means a lot to me and I'm in the process of building up a 2.0 version of my town. Hopefully, I'm able to create a (slightly) lighter version of the town and therefore a smaller-sized save file. I'm by no means an expert builder, but I can create decent (simple) lots.

Are you a CC creator?

No. I do create pictures and custom signs for my own game though.

Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad?

Yes, I'm pretty sure I do. Back in the forum days, I was rather closely connected to quite a few other Simmers. There are a few people I'm also connected to on regular social media platforms, so we follow each other's personal lives alongside our Sim ones. In July 2014 I met up with my SimSisters Sandy (@aroundthesims) and Sara (@simsaralove) in Paris for a day, which was absolutely brilliant. Especially when you realise we all live in different countries. A few weeks later, Sara visited me in my hometown for a (beach)day. ❤️

Besides these lovelies, there are a couple of people on here whom I follow religiously because I either greatly admire what they do/write/play or because they're just lovely. Or both. 🥰 I guess I consider those connections a virtual friendship in a way too. At least from my perspective.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?

Oh, loads! When I played The Sims 1 and 2 I played rounds of 2 days per family. When The Sims 3 came around I started playing SimYears. At first, my style of playing was just visiting families and going with the flow. Pretty much as I had always done before that. I didn't even take screenshots. It wasn't until I became an active member of the Sims community that I found out there was actually an interest in my Sims and that’s when I started actively taking (pretty bad) pictures of the things I played out and writing stories. Back then, Sandy called her stories "non-stories", which very much applied to me as well, so I adopted that term. Not so much stories, but rather a picture collection of things that occurred with a line of text. Reading my earlier (non-)stories now, I'm often tempted to go back and change them, but I won't.

Gradually, things changed. I started to plan events and happenings, and then playing those out. Characters developed and got more depth. I spent more time telling their individual backstories. It was actually you, @nocturnalazure, who gave me one of the loveliest compliments I've ever received a few years ago on a story and I never forgot that. You said you had always liked my stories, but the more recent ones made you feel more connected to my characters. That meant a lot to me. ❤️

Now, story planning has become my main starting point. I hardly ever have time to play randomly (which I do regret, I loved doing that), but planning and writing first and then playing out the stories absolutely works for me. I even threw my "no poses policy" away. 😄

My different approach to gameplay and storytelling sometimes also makes me a bit anxious though. KimmiesSimmies used to be light, airy, cute and innocent. Even the name is. Lately, what with writing first, the tide is turning. While I can still write "cute", my stories are generally more serious, sometimes quite a bit less innocent than they used to be. Take James for instance. As I mentioned earlier, there's a lot more to be told when it comes to his story. And the things which are about to come up (not soon, but they will) are definitely not light and airy, cute and innocent, but quite deep and even a bit dark. I want to tell these stories, but at the same time, I'm apprehensive about it. Is this still KimmiesSimmies material?

Omg to the anon who sent the ask about a possible ending where MC just decided to just become a normal civilian living peacefully, I was in the middle of answering your ask on my phone when I accidentally closed it and now I can’t find your ask anymore 😭 I’m so sorry, so I’ll answer it here!

I have considered that ending as well because I personally love it also! My only hesitation is that I’m biting more than I can chew right now since this is my very first experience with writing IFs and those 3 endings will have some variations as well depending on your MC’s personalities and decisions. But definitely, once I’m done with the rough draft of the story or maybe halfway through the story, and if everything goes well, I’ll try to find a way to fit it in!

One of the core themes of this story other than vengeance, for me is cycles, things repeating from the previous generation to the next. Readers will hopefully be able to see more of this in the future, since many of the ROs routes are also dealing with similar themes. There’s the whole complex relationship between Rin and their dad and expectations, Skylar being Mirage’s protégé, Santana and their father’s legacy, and even MC is stuck in a cycle of perpetual hatred, anger, and grief, and so much more that I can’t say without spoiling stuff further 😭

What Viktor did when he ran way from home was also trying to get out of the cycle. He got lost a bit, and for a moment, he really thought he would finally get it with Yvette, but of course he truly got his freedom with MC. His problem was he had a not-so clean start and he could not make a clean break with Luka and Cara (Luka and Cara, especially Luka, often tried to persuade Viktor to come back to the family business). MC on the other hand, would’ve had a chance for a clean start if only the events didn’t happen the way they did 😔

So, yes! I really love that ending because for some readers, it may feel like finally succeeding where Viktor failed and truly break free and rise above the cycle! But, just like other endings, not all ROs will be able to follow MC that chooses certain endings and this ending is no different. Ash is the only RO that will follow MC no matter what they choose in the end. Sorry, for the long rant about cycles and stuff 😄

Anime only watchers and people who aren't caught up with the Manga, BEWARE... Cuz I'm about to discuss Spy X Family Mission 89... You have been warned...! 👌

[SPOILERS AHEAD FROM THIS POINT ON]

OH MY GOSH, WHAT A GREAT CHAPTER!! 😆 (And a funny one as well!! 😂)

This chapter has probably become a new favorite of mine, so let's talk about it...!! 😄

Today's chapter follows one of my favorite characters in the series...

MY BOY, YURI BRIAR...!!! 😆

And he's been reflecting on the events of the previous arc, disappointed that he couldn't stop Twilight... Officer Scarface tells Yuri to stop sulking over it because at least he was able to injure Twilight, so now the SSS is looking for anyone with bullet wounds in their right arms (which means that Twilight has to be EXTRA CAREFUL not to slip up in anyway... 😩)

As Yuri and Officer Scarface are just going about their day, Chole (happy to see her again 😆) is about to interrogate a man with a gun shot wound in his right arm... And, um...:

THEY DIDN'T EVEN HESITATE!! DAMN...!!🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

But Scarface tells Yuri to just go ahead and assist Chole with the interrogation, which goes as you'd expect from Yuri when he does his job... 😅

THAT FACE ALONE IS ONE OF THE MANY REASONS I WOULD NOT WANT TO MESS WITH YURI (or the the Briar siblings in general...!! 😵)

Anyway, after interrogating that guy, Yuri and Chole go to investigate the address that Yuri scared out of him... And on their way there, find out that Chole and Yuri WENT TO SCHOOL TOGETHER!! 😆

If doesn't full more fire for Chloroform (the Yuri x Chole ship name that saw from @tare-anime 😁) to be even more of a thing, then I don't know what will...!! 👌😌

As they drive to their destination, Yuri can sense Yor (and by sense, I mean smell 😅) walking by and immediately ducks down. Chole questions why he did that since they aren't even wearing their uniforms and could've just told Yor that they were dating...!! 😏 But Yuri declined that idea because he still wants to do whatever he can to help Yor like what she did for him... And then, Chole says something that I agree with:

I don't know when or how, but I hope that Yuri will one day leave the SSS (like how I hope that Yor and Loid leave their jobs or just retire someday) and hopefully find happiness...! 😊

Moving on from that, they find the place that they were looking for and Yuri rushes in guns a blazing and does some questionable fighting techniques in the process...:

Yuri, I-- H-How did you do that...? 👏😂

After using his Street Fighter-esque Yor Fu, one of the guys there tries to sneak attack Yuri, but then...

...CHOLE COMES IN WITH THE ELBOW AND SHUTS THAT SHIT DOWN...!!! 😆

And then she...

...SLAPS THE SHIT OUT YURI (TWICE...)

...And gives him some advice...!!

I loved what Chole says to Yuri about how he could die on the job and what that would do to Yor it that ever happened (and that exact thought was most likely what was going through Twilight's head during Mission 83... 🥲) Chole is most definitely a keeper and a real one...!! 👌😤

Lastly, after a long day Yuri is training at his place when Yor comes to visit and brings him some food...!! 🤗 As Yuri scarfs down the food Yor brought, he thinks to himself about what Chole said:

But before the chapter ends, Yor tells him that Loid is the one that made the food that she brought over, Yuri spits it out and starts thinking of other ways to get rid of Loid!! 🤣

And that was Mission 89, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!! 😆 I'm glad that we got another Yuri focused chapter after all this time (Mission 41 being the first Yuri lead chapter) and got to see more of Chole!! 😁 Yuri never fails to make me laugh and this chapter was no exception (heck, even Scarface had me laughing at beginning of this chapter!! 🤣)

As usual, I'm excited for the next chapter and wonder what's gonna happen next...!! 😄 But if I had to pick one thing that I'm looking forward to see in future, it'll have to be seeing my little weird dude finally growing as a person...!! 😊 (And grow to like Loid, eventually...!! 😌)

Hey! I'm planning a trip to Italy, and I'd love some recommendations from a local <3 I'm visiting Milan, Florence, Rome and Napoli, so if you have any suggestions, I'd appreciate them. Also any tips will be welcome 😄

A trip to Pasta Land! How amazing?!

So, since in my humble opinion Italy is a country of art, architecture, Jesus on the cross, and food… I feel like you should see some obvious places, such as:

Milan: Duomo (and the surroundings), Castello Sforzesco, Pinacoteca di Brera (which is one of my favourite art museums), Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, the Navigli. Also I would suggest browsing for events/gigs that might be happening while you’re there. Milan always offers a lot of activities, it depends what attracts you the most! For me personally it’s always been art and music and I would be looking for galleries, gigs at Alcatraz, Fabrique or even bars and other small locals that host local artists 💛

Florence: ALL OF IT. Literally. I fell in love with that city, expecially the old town which is easy walkable: Santa Maria del Fiore is a must (and the surroundings), Basilica of Santa Croce, Uffizi Gallery (my absolute beloved! You might stand in the queue for a while but it’s worth all the wait), Ponte Vecchio, Pitti Palace, The Boboli Gardens… Everything a typical turistic guide tells you to see, go for it!

Rome: oof, Rome is a lot. I don’t know how many days you have in your schedule dedicated to Rome but I can tell you what I saw in one day: Vatican, Colosseo, Foro Romano, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Castel Sant’Angelo, Fontana di Trevi, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Venezia. I walked pretty much from 6AM to 8PM with a couple of short breaks but it was worth it. Expecially strolling around the old town 💛

Naples: I’ve never been to Naples, so unfortunatelly I can’t suggest much but between Rome and Naples there is one of my favourite places I’ve studied in art school: Reggia di Caserta. It’s basically the italian Versailles.

Landmarks aside, here are some random tips and tricks:

- Ask locals for the best osteria/trattoria. TripAdvisor is kinda accurate but the locals know their shit and can spot a place that only pretends to serve great food. They will send you to a place that is actually good 😂

- Speaking of food… There’s a lot of different things you should try! Artisan gelato and granita (make sure it’s artisan and not just crushed ice with fake fruit syrup), fresh pasta al ragù/caccio e pepe/amatriciana/gricia, wine, spritz, the famous tagliere served mostly as an apetizer before the first course or to go along the aperitif, maritozzi and any kind of pastry, tortellini, pizza in Naples, etc, etc. I could go on for hours but what I’m saying here is to try as many things as you can. Also coffee. Cappuccino with cocoa or cinnamon is a must.

- If you’re gonna go to museums, gigs or any paid events, book your tickets in advance when available

- Use the subway or rent a bike instead of getting a taxi or buses if you don’t want to walk for miles

- People working in touristic places and hotels will speak english but keep in mind that a lot of locals don’t. But with a mix of simple english words, dialect, “come cazzo si dice” and plenty of gestures… you will understand them (hopefully) 😂

- Be patient with Trenitalia, if you will have to catch a train at some point. Bitches are always late and there is always a lovely stink of piss. Somewhere.

- Don’t pay attention to scammers that will most likely ask you for donations for a dying dog or a sick person that never existed. Just tell you don’t have cash on you and go away.

- Italians are loud. Brace yourself.

Well actually…it’s MORE than cool because as of two Fridays ago, I AM NOW OFFICIALLY A COLLEGE GRADUATE!!! With Magna Cum Laude honors!! AHHHHHHHHH!!! 🎓 😃 🙌

Long story short: THAT’S where I’ve been

Long story long? Well…I might get into that later…maybe, maybe not...we'll see...there’s so much more I want to say right now…like no joke I was legit going make this one of those on-and-on rambling posts, in fact I really did type this as one of those posts at first cause I tend to be a rambler lol...

but then I realized it was a little too much, I mean for real if it was too much for me I knew full well it’d be too much for you all 😵‍💫

I’ve just come back here! And I kinda wanna take it slow in a way, you know? 🙂

Really the important thing is that I've returned! And I’m gonna start posting regularly again beginning today! 📝

After spending the first of my two weeks post-graduation getting cozy back in my hometown again, I’ve been spending this last week or so prepping my return here, figuring out what I want to post and what changes and adjustments I want to make...one of them being creating and putting in a much needed updated pfp and header! Which I've done, uploaded, so I can check the box on that! ✅

But yeah there are more updates to come obviously cause believe it or not, the very huge posting block I had all the way back in fall/winter is gone now and I have a full note list of things I want to say and share on here! Including a new blog series idea that I believe will benefit me, you guys, and won't take a whole lot of work...you’ll see what I mean later… 👀

OK so I just wished to express this because I don't do it very often but feel the need to right now, even though it's actually hard to do so and put into words so I'll do my best, hopefully without sounding too disgustingly fan girly...

Basically Sam Fender is someone who despite being from a whole different part of England to me, is someone who as a person alongside his music, I could not relate to anymore to than I already do.

I have had the privilege of being able to express my adoration a little and was shocked when he responded to me over Instagram last year, but man I don't think he would even know the half of it if I could actually tell him all of it in person.

I just know I would find it difficult, I would stutter because of nerves and he would probably find it too overwhelming and somehow I would probably make him feel uncomfortable because I am good at that, and I think there's a reason I haven't met my absolute favourite actors/musicians for this very reason 🤣🤣 but yeah I would struggle for probably an hour or two before I would eventually calm down and be able to chat to him like an actual fucking normal person!

So instead I am letting it out to this tumblr void and letting it be here for just my thoughts and for anyone who might be slightly interested.

Sam Fender is like a mind reader. Like he really feels like he knows my life for real. I mean similarities are definitely there where my parents struggled financially when I was a child. I had an estranged relationship with my dad for years despite choosing to live with him when I was 10. My mum walked out on us and I was broken for years. I got bullied at school for years as well and although it's called "Dead Boys", I was nearly a Dead Girl that couldn't be explained, except I just wanted to die at 17.

Seventeen Going Under was really the hitting point for me. I really was 17 and going under in life. I was a mess. And then Spit of You made me bawl my eyes out when I first heard it because those lyrics alongside the music video was just pure dynamite for me, like everything that I wish I could express, but he has done it better than me.

I've considered the music route and have been told I am a good singer and a good writer, but damn, did I struggle to keep myself motivated to teach myself guitar. I did ok but then kind of gave up on it because I didn't think I could get very far.. I was watching my dad have mental breakdowns almost everyday which clouded my motivations. I still consider sometimes whether I try and pick it up again and play at an open mic night. One day I might. The closest I have come as of late so far is on karaoke nights working at the pub and only then do I sing my heart out besides at home 😄

His political views are a part of it too. Our political system is fucked and he expresses that brilliantly too with Long Way Off and Aye. I mean Hypersonic Missiles and White Privilege as well but they're more worldwide explanations. The left (Labour) and right (Conservatives) don't appeal to me either way. We need a whole revamp.

Basically this fella from North Shields is like a gift to me and to many others. I just wish he could know this without me sounding like a creepy fucker. He's just awesome in general really and I guarantee that if I wasn’t so awkward with celebrities and could actually keep my cool when I usually can, I would happily have a good old chinwag with him, just talk about life and have a few bevvies.

I mean hell, the actual dream would be to duet a song with him ❤ he would play guitar and I would sing. It's not expected though and seems like such a long shot to ever actually happen, and while I saw him perform at Ally Pally in London in November 2021, I did not get lucky in catching him after the gig. Maybe one day I will but then he would probably be super famous by then. He definitely deserves all the attention anyway!

So yeah. That was what I was thinking about this morning of all things 😅

Holy fucking cow! My blood pressure is through the fucking roof! I was not expecting that at all. I thought I'd wasted my place through my own laziness. I thought this year was my last chance to use my place. When I heard nothing, I reckoned I'd missed out. But it would seem not! So here's another fine mess I've got myself into! London marathon is exactly one week after Manchester. Manchester which I booked flights and hotel for last night. I could cancel the hotel, but the flights are locked in, unrefundable. First question: can I do a second marathon a week after a first? Second question: can I keep it a secret? I think the answer to the second one is a gimme. It's just an extra bit to add to the original secret. The training is already under wraps. All I have to do is keep schtum about an extra week.

As to the first question... it's nuts to think that I could do a second 42k in eight days! Fucking nuts! So why am I considering it? London is such an iconic marathon. It's the one that everyone really wants. It's the one that if people knew I could be wasting a place, they'd think I was crazy. It's a coveted place I've got. This year, nearly half a million people entered the public ballot for 17,000 places. I was one of them for fuck's sake! Me, with my foretting/not realising that I already had a place! This could be my only chance to have a place in this race without having had to have gone through the ballot.

TGG is, as usual, being my voice of reason. He's saying I don't need to do anything about it yet. I can think about it. I have a few weeks before anything needs to be booked. I'm sort of glad the email didn't arrive yesterday, coz now Manchester is a thing regardless of what I do about London. London is a bonus. Because I thought I'd lost my chance, the money for the entry was lost to me anyway. I think if I don't do it though, I'll always regret it. Oh God! Decisions!

I will have to tell Coach though. I will probably tell him in a few days, maybe a week and see what he says about how stupid it is to even think about it 😆

On the subject of telling people, I told Sonic today, while on our four mile run, that I was doing a training programme with Coach. I'm sort of sorry that I let it slip. I just said something about doing a few 5k runs for Coach and Sonic was straight on the info, and asked if I was doing a whole programme with him. I said it was just for base fitness at the moment. It's not a lie. So far, there's no speed work, no long runs and nothing marathon specific. I'll just continue to be vague in my conversations about training. I really do want to keep quiet.

Oh God! It's just hit me again! London marathon! So many of my club would be so fucking jealous. If I don't do it, they'll hate me! Well, not really, but sort of. 😄

Again, the run today was not easy. Fuck! I'm talking about 6.5k not being easy. Hello! Thinking about 84k in a week here! Right! I'm stopping thinking about that. (I'm really not, but I'm going to shut up about it. For now!)

As I was saying, it wasn't a doddle today. I think it's because I had company, and regardless of how easy we ran, I felt more pressure because I was running with someone else. That's totally on me. Sonic is fine with our pace. It was a wee bit colder today, first time in a while it hasn't been mild. It was also windy. The coast was cold. But that's nothing to how it will be in January and February, so I'd better get used to it.

I'm thinking of going for a run in the morning before parkrun, despite it not being on my program. I just want to enjoy a run with a podcast, on my own, at my own pace. There's the Sunday social run to come yet. Have I mentioned that? I can't remember. A few members of club, gathering at 9am on Sunday morning, hopefully all abilities so there'll be folks slow enough for me. I'm only intending to do 5 or 6k. If it's slow enough, I might just enjoy the craic. TGG is going too 🥰

Was there ever better motivation to eat properly than being shit scared about getting fit enough to meet my challenges? I don't think so. I have ZERO interest in over eating today after that email. So, it was good for something 🤣

Anon Request

A very kind reader of mine came to me through my private messages and requested that I write a fic based around the concept of How Joel Would Deal With His Significant Other Having a Chronic Illness.

She has shared that she has Hypocalcemia, so this is what I am going to be writing about. This lovely lady has asked to remain anonymous, so of course this will be respected!

I would like to use this opportunity to thank her once more. I am so happy and massively honoured that you came to my blog to write this. Stay safe my friend and I hope this new year brings many blessings for you.

I want to really dive into this one, tear it down and emphasise fully on how I think Joel would handle this, therefore I'm going with two parts.

The first being a brief breakdown on how Joel would deal with this throughout the different timelines, then second part, I am going to write a oneshot personalised to Anon.

With her permission, she has allowed me to mention some of her more personal experiences with the illness. Please enjoy, my lovely readers and to you Anon, I very much hope you enjoy this too <3

Without further ado, let’s jump into this 😄

Part 1 - Brief Breakdown Throughout The Timelines

2013 - Pre Outbreak:

Joel would be a very supportive partner. Always there for you. During your appointments. In your times of need. Taking care of you at home. If your well being begins to decline, Joel will be right there, by your side.

Although your medications keep a handle on everything, that doesn't stop Joel from helping in every way he can. He will keep plenty of calcium rich foods around the house and learn how to cook meals that are high in the vitamins that you need.

Now, during your bad times, this would be where he really comes through. Joel would be very attentive to watch out for the signs & symptoms. The numbness and tingling feelings, the muscle spasms or shortness of breath, Joel will always be looking out for these things.

“I'm right here beside you baby”// “just rest darlin, sleep and let me take care of yer” // “I love you, y/n” // these are many of his whispered reassurances into your ear when you are unwell.

2013 to 2033 - During Outbreak:

This time period would be a lot more difficult for either of you to cope. Given the fact that the ‘normal’ world is gone now, it would make it harder to handle your illness as medicine, doctors and hospitals are a pretty much gone.

That being said, Joel Miller is a fighter and a survivor. Nothing will stop him from taking care of his lady. He will raid every pharmacy, every hospital and every doctor's office to get the necessary medical supplies that you need.

He will fight and kill to get you the medicine and food that you need. It’s brutal, and maybe even shocking but Joel Miller loves you, and in a world of death & despair his morale cannot be questioned when your life hangs in the balance of his hands. so, if that means killing to get you the meds that you need, then he is damn well going to do it.

When you are unwell, Joel will never leave your side. While he may have a sparse collection of medical supplies, and maybe even be reduced to a rag, Joel would never leave you.

I can imagine Joel would be quiet while tending to you, almost too quiet, but when you are sleeping, that is a totally different story. His eyes never leave your body, he wont sleep and knowing that you cannot hear him, this is where he feels safe to talk out loud.

“I love you, y/n” // “I'm going to make it better” // “just get better for me” // “god! I can't imagine going on without you” // “so please, don't leave me too”

When you’re awake, Joel seems so relaxed, calm and too damn quiet, but when you are sleeping he confesses how worried he is, and he repeats how much he loves you like a mantra.

Present Time - Jackson Community:

Twenty years into the cordyceps virus, you and Joel are still fighting, still surviving together and better yet, living comfortably within the safety of the walls that make up the Jackson community.

Still, there isn't the luxury of medicine being easy to grab on hand, however, there is a whole community by his side. Doctors and nurses, all willing to help adhere to the care that you need most.

As well as them, he has his brother, sister in law and your surrogate daughter, Ellie by your side, all of them equipped and ready to help in any way they can. Joel wont need to fight or kill anymore, he has all of these people who care for you, just as much as him.

That doesn't exclude that when you do fall unwell he doesn't worry, because Joel will always worry for you. You are his lady, his woman and soulmate for life, so Joel will never stop worrying about your safety and wellbeing.

Granted, he has more help than he did during the outbreak, but Joel will still, like always, be right by your side, telling you how much he loves you. Everyday and all day until you get better.

Part 2 - Personalised OneShot

Warnings: Light smut (kissing) Fluff and talk of Violence, the setting is during the outbreak. NO MINORS 🔞 18+ Content.

For Better or For Worse, in Sickness and in Health

Joel Miller was once a dependent father, a loving husband and doting brother, while he may have these characteristics buried somewhere underneath his hardened exterior, now he has been reduced to a ferociously driven man.

He is the man that gets things done. He is the one who anyone and everyone can trust with their lives, literally. But that trust does not come so easily.

So, If you have the trust of Mr. Miller on your side, then you are damn well fucking important to him and you, y/n, his wife, his soulmate and the love of his life, are his number one priority.

After the death of your daughter Sarah, you see just how driven Joel is everyday to make sure that he never loses you. He fights every day to prevent that fate, or else he simply would lose himself without his wife too.

Joel lost a chunk of himself, but you are the one who is keeping him alive, keeping his humanity, you are the one that keeps him going.

When he took your hand in marriage many years ago and vowed, to have and to hold from that day forward, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, until death do you part - that was a vow for life and so, Joel will stop at nothing to keep you alive.

Ten years into the Cordyceps outbreak, a terrible fungal virus that attacks the brain of any host and wills them to kill, eat or tear another person apart, Joel finds himself doing just that. It’s his duty and his job to fight his way through this dark world everyday, with you right by his side.

“You stay right here. You don’t say a word, you don't move and you let me handle this, you got that y/n?” holding your face gently and sounding dangerously serious, you can hear the plea in his voice, so you don't protest.

You need a safe environment, somewhere secure and protected. So you find yourself on the outskirts of a QZ, trying to find your way inside through an army of infected.

Joel had stopped while running through the streets and alleyways to turn to you. Holding your face, with his eyes wide with worry, he stopped and told you to hide while he does what he does best.

Placing your own hands over his, your eyes close and a single tear rolls down your cheek. Joel pulls you in close, holding you tightly and kisses your lips “I will be right back. You just gotta stay here for me, baby. Can you do that for me, please?”

“Yes” your whispered confirmation has him corralling you through the back door of a building and giving you one last look. Joel nods his head and mouths the words ‘I love you’ before he shuts it.

The dark silence from within enveloped you while the battering sounds of rain hit on the door. Closing your eyes again, you stated out loud to the silence “I love you too”

It's been three days of absolute hell in this city, you and Joel have fought almost every hour of those three days trying to get to here. With one too many close calls on your medical illness, it was you who was convincing Joel to relocate, to find somewhere a little more secure than the beaten and run down farmhouse you stayed at.

That farmhouse was between the QZ and a small town. Tess, a woman from within the the walls would pass your farmhouse to meet with a man named Bill in the seemingly deserted town, so after a very long time of making friends with her, building up the trust and learning everything there is to know, you convinced Joel to move to the QZ and become Tess’s smuggling partner.

This way he could get the medication he needed for you by working with her, another way to earn opposed to being out there, looting everything he can get his hands on and it would help that you were within the walls of someplace safe, which is guarded by what remains of the government, the Federal Disaster Response Agency (FEDRA).

That farmhouse may have been run down, but it was only meant to be a temporary home. After a few months of it being quiet and somewhat secure, Joel and you found yourself fighting off wave after wave of infected every so often.

It was becoming too much to upkeep, with that on top of your daily tasks to take care of your medical needs, you needed a secure environment to take the load off you and your husbands shoulders, so that was the reason for you to leave.

Now though, as you sit here in this unknown building at the foot of the steps, you aren't so sure if that was a good idea. “Joel is strong, he will be ok and he will be back” speaking to yourself like a crazy woman, you try to appease the arising anxiety’s of Joel's safety, but it’s not working.

Walking up the steps, you piece together that this building is actually a recording studio and park yourself on one of the seats in a booth. Placing your head into your hands and hunching over, you close your eyes and rub your temples as the headache is pounding your brain.

On top of everything that is happening, you didn't want to worry Joel that your health is beginning to crash again. you can feel the tingling sensations running across your hands and feet.

So even if it may be subtle to start off with, you know your body best and you know that if you don't get a handle on it now, it will worsen, but unfortunately, your medications are in his backpack.

Grabbing some food from your own backpack, a can of sardines in particular, you open them up and eat them. It is rich with calcium and will have to make do for now until Joel gets back. Curling up in the seat, you lay back and worry more about where he is.

A little while later, your eyes are closed and you're cringing with discomfort as the pain is worsening. You feel disoriented and extremely tired, but just as your muscles are beginning to cramp, a large hand lands onto your leg and your eyes spring open.

“I’m here baby... I’m here now” Joel heaves deep breaths in front of you while on his knees. Grabbing his bag hastily, he retrieves your medication and hands you a drink while assuring you “I got you baby girl”

You opened your eyes through wincing with pain and looked at him, then grimaced “did you take care of the runners?”

Joel is covered in blood, no doubt from killing the infected that was chasing you both, he nodded his head and you closed your eyes once more.

Leaving you on the chair momentarily, he goes to find a water source and comes back to start a small fire by the window that he climbed through. After removing all of his clothes and replacing them before cleaning himself up, Joel comes back to you.

Lifting you off the chair, he carries you over to a makeshift bed of laid out sheets and blankets beside the fire. Instantly, he is at work, Joel knows what to do and how to help ease your pain, so he starts by massaging your aching cramps.

After that, he will use the water he found and heated up, to dip a rag inside. Using that heat to loosen up your muscles and to further ease your discomfort, he will joke “Did you miss me?”

His humour is rare these days and he knows how much it can brighten your spirits, so he adds to that. “Hm, I know I aint easy on the eyes but I missed you beautiful”

Peeling your eyes open to look at him, Joel smiles goofily at you and it makes you giggle. His voice is peaceful to your ears even if you can hear the worry in his tone, that smile of his is everything to you, even if he is putting it on.

You can see right through it and you take his hand in yours to reassure him instead. “I had some food while you were gone and the tablets will kick in soon baby”

Joel sighs and drops his shoulders, he relaxes knowing that it wasn't too late. That food you ate makes all the difference as you could be a hell of a lot worse right now, so he sighs with relief and leans down to plant his lips on yours.

“Just rest for me darlin, I'll be right here when you wake” mumbling into your lips before pulling back, Joel moves a piece of hair out of your face and turns his attention to the fire. He needs to cook some food, something better than the can of sardines that you ate.

Standing up and going back to the window, Joel steps out to grab two big rucksacks and brings them inside. Opening them up, he pulls out all the contents and rifles through the food he has acquired.

There’s a couple kiwis, apricots and oranges, a few bags of assorted nuts, dried figs, tins of cooked soybeans and a healthy supply of tinned seafood too.

In the other bag there is some warmer clothing and weapons. With everything emptied out, Joel goes to discard the backpacks and stops to look at a name tag inside, ‘property of David Anderson.’

Dropping his gaze, Joel looks to you sleeping on the floor beside the fire and shakes his head “all they had to do was leave me be”

While Joel was gone, he had directed the infected away from you and they followed him into a grocery store. Once inside, he had taken care of them and then ransacked everything he could get his hands on to bring back with him, however a couple of people came across him doing this.

So he looks at his wife lying on the floor and nods his head, speaking to himself “they shouldn't have gotten in my way, baby girl”

If someone were to ask Joel how he would cope with handling his wife's hypocalcemia illness in this world, today would be one of the many examples of how he does that. When two men tried to steal the necessities that you needed from him, Joel had to fight them off and kill them.

So in conclusion, there is nothing in this world that could stop him, he is a fighter and Joel Miller will do anything and everything in his power to fight - for you.
