I think if a fanfic says Cass is in Hong Kong the writer should be obligated to explain exactly why she is in Hong Kong and the answer cannot be “I didn’t bother learning anything about her so I shoved her in HK to avoid writing her.”

Oh goodness, I was RIGHT to save Gates of Gotham. This is so satisfying.

Look at that Black Bat art! I love the way they make her ragged cape float.

Cass and Tim being buddies and swapping tips. I love how far they’ve come together.

The opening scene was Dick and Tim working a case together!

Just the DYNAMICS of the four of them here looking over plans. You can tell so much.

Ok, so tell me if I'm missing something, but I'm confused and kinda weirded out by how fans infantilize Cassandra Cain Wayne. Like, this woman is 17 going 18 when you meet her in No Man's Land, and is 21 when she returns to Gotham as Black Bat. She's ALWAYS been an independent person and she HAS the ability to speak like sentences. And looking back at Gates of Gotham, towards the end of continuity, she's thoughtful, articulate and a decent investigator in her own right but no one seems to like to talk about or portray this version of her. Like it's almost always the tween-ified Batgirls Cassandra at best or a racist caricature at worst.

#personally i think gates of gotham cassandra is THE version that should inform interpretations of her dynamics with the extended bat family #she seems to like properly get tim; let her understand how (some) people work #dick & her are obviously not close but theyre comfortable enough to have some pretty candid conversations; let her have lax & honest chats #she's rather apathetic with damian but they clash; let her be petty out loud #cassandra wayne #cassandra cain #black bat #batgirl #dc comics #batfam #batman #bat family #comics

I LOVE THIS A LOT, because Dick does have his darker sides, he still has so very much rage inside of him, he’s still so angry, but the thing about Dick Grayson is that he’ll choose love over anger, that that’s who he is at his core.  Bruce gave him the tools to help channel that anger so it no longer blinded him like when he was a child, and that’s what being Batman reveals about him, in these circumstances. He won’t turn into Bruce, despite that the temptation and pull is there, Dick knows what it’s like to get lost in the fury and fear and pain of trying to hold a city like Gotham together, of seeing the worst over and over, being Batman will expose that same anger that’s always been there.  But it also shows him that he’ll choose connection over isolation, he’ll choose faith in himself over the fear, that he can be Batman without getting lost in it. And Bruce has that faith in him as well, he sees his son is a better man than he is, he sees that Dick has those dark sides, but he doesn’t lose himself in them, and maybe Bruce has a sharper detective’s mind, maybe Cass will always be a better fighter than either of them, but Dick’s heart is what makes all of this work, it’s what inspires and leads others, and Bruce is so, so proud of how much more valuable that is than how hard you can throw a punch.  Like, don’t get me wrong, Bruce struggles to get to the place where he can say it, he still tends to isolate when the shit hits the fan, but at the end of the day, he does say it to his kids, he sees that they’re growing beyond what he is and he’s so damn proud of them.

i’ve been playing bg3 with my group and we’re at the end of act 2 but already talking about our next group run and we want to do characters from the same media.

our current running idea is to do an evil run (our current run is good) with characters out of the batman rogues gallery and bc of that we’ve been headcanoning races and classes for the rogues.

so far we've got the ideas for

- the joker as a dude who goes all in on psychic damage, specifically tasha's hideous laughter

- harley quinn as probably a bard

- poison ivy as elf or half elf druid

- bane as a barbarian

- killer croc as a barbarian but also the dark urge

- deadshot is a ranger

- azrael as a paladin

- catwoman as a rogue

- mister freeze as a spellcaster who goes all in on cold related spells

- the riddler as a bard

this is all we've got so far for ideas. we haven't decided who wants to play as who yet. any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated
