I really do think Luke's goals seem a little too eugenicist for me. Mind you, I haven't read The Lightning Thief in a few months (I'm on the Sea of Monsters now), but I remember not liking Luke's betrayal scenes. I also don't like how Luke acted on the Princess Andromeda in the Sea of Monsters. And what's funny is I didn't hate him this much when I read years ago, but I seem to be really disliking him now. Maybe because I read slowly and overthink. Or maybe because I'm using my phone's notes app to write down all my thoughts as I read? I don't really know.

Anyways, I should probably get back to my main point about Luke's goals reminding me (in a way) of the eugenics movement. What I mean by that is well, his goals seem like they'd naturally lead to a survival of the fittest style world. He'd get rid of the gods and leave everybody to fend for themselves, is what my brain keeps hearing. And I despise that. It reminds me too much of the eugenics movement and stuff. Mind you, I might just be noticing this stuff because I'm coming down very slowly off a political hyperfixation. I keep hoping the political hyperfixation will leave, but it's been hard to shake it. But I'm rambling now. I'll shut up. Otherwise, we'd be here all night.
